Core Competencies and the Planning and Implementing of Information Technology Abstract With any
organization, rather it be civilian or military focused, there is a common element that resides;
organizational competencies. These competencies is what makes any organization unique and
identifies how they do the things they do, how relationships with institution division and external
entities are developed and handled. With Information technology shifting from an administrative
support tool to a strategic role within the organization, the question, or debate, is whether or not the
planning and implementation of information technology, based on strategic goals, essentially share the
same organizational competencies. This article will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would agree in part, but not wholly. In fact, I agree that Information Technology will be implemented
into the organization in such a way that promotes and ensures organizational success of its strategic
goals, but I would have to disagree on the order between organizational strategic goals and
organizational competencies. With traditional organizational planning, most organizations have each
part (department) determine specific programs and projects to support the organizations strategic
goals. This is also known as a mix of bottom up and top down planning. The organization creates
strategic goals, disseminates it across the organizations departments and has each department design
or implement projects and programs to achieve or support the organization with achieving those goals.
Instead, if we shifted the level importance from organizational strategic goals to the effective
implementation and recognition of organizational competencies, then it is more likely that the
organization as a whole will be better aligned across all parts (departments) and each part will more
likely identify the appropriate strategic goals. In a report by Cullen Coates and Associates in 2008,
Managing Organizational Competencies, they define this as the process of determining how each part
of the organization can contribute to each competency will cause all parts of

Agricultural Production Simulation Paper
Existing climate variability is a fundamental driver of cotton production in Australia. Negative effects
of anthropogenic climate change will increase the existing climate related production challenges to the
Australia cotton industry most likely through significant fruit loss, lower yields and reduced water use
efficiencies due to higher temperatures (Williams et al. 2014; Bange et al. 2010). On average, on
cotton producing farms, cotton makes up the largest proportion of farm income (approximately 66%)
in terms of gross value of production and yet only comprises about 10% of the total farm area
(ABARE 2012; Roth 2010). 80% of cotton producing farms are irrigated and consequently overall
production is very sensitive to water availability and price (McRae et al. 2007; Roth ... Show more

(2014) built on this research by using the biophysical crop production simulation model APSIM
(Agricultural Production Simulator, (Keating et al. 2003) with one of the hottest and driest future
climate change scenarios (the CSIROMk3.5 A1FI scenario) to provide information on the impact of
climate change on cotton yield and irrigation water requirements for the southern Queensland region.
These simulations highlight the complexity of the cotton production system especially the
ameliorating effect of CO2 fertilisation on growth that would otherwise be highly compromised with
decreased rainfall. The simulations indicate yields increasing by 5.9% to 2030, but then decreasing by
3.6% to 2050.
However, a requirement of the model was that available soil water was kept at 65%. In order to
achieve this irrigation volumes needed to be increased by 47.4% (2030) and 48.7% (2050). It is highly
questionable whether the adaptation response of increasing irrigation volumes to maintain ASW by
this amount is realistic. For example, changes in Government policy lead to the Murray Darling Basin
Cap (Authority 2010) reduces the amount of water available for irrigation in the area by 14% by

The Theory Of Science And Architecture
Architecture can be related to anything such as society or science, society demands the building of
their dream and science made building possible. Science and architect share a mutual goal where both
intended to improve the society life style or in another word, to achieve community utopia. Science
and architect is one of the main elements to promote utopia and this really make the society to believe
that utopia exist. The future will be the combination of science and spirituality, and they should be
together forever. In fact, only when we successfully continue to improve our level of consciousness
and match the level of science and technology, human beings have a future. The future of humanity is
very unpredictable, science may change the world as they see fits such as no disease, no hunger or no
pain. Science can explain many problems, from the taste of the food to love, because love is the
product of science! Nowadays for the environment, sea level rises every year and many countries
started land reclamation to fix the problem such as Japan or Netherland. To face these problems, the
architect has made a lot of conceptual idea to accommodate future human life. Since then, conceptual
floating foundation design has been under development to adapt the environmental issue. It uses the
principle of buoyancy to support the design and the principle itself is discovered by the scientist,
which architect adapted this principle to the design.
Architecture is does not only

Compare And Contrast Bergson And Davis Theories
Philosophers over the years have attempted to generate their own theories of what makes a person
laugh. Bergson and Davis s theories have given people an indication of what that could be. Together
these philosopher s theories enlighten us to why people might laugh. Bergson and Davis s theories
limit us in explaining to the fullest extent of the workings of comedy. Bergson s theory has three
elements that he believes constitute why we laugh and claims, ...the mechanical encrusted upon the
living, promotes laughter (Bergson 10). While Davis s theory is concerned with the foundation of
laughter with incongruities and ambiguities. As well the audience, who finds something funny, instead
of the object that is funny. Bergson s theory begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bergson articulates that commonly laughter transpires in a group, and people do not frequently laugh
in isolation. For instance, the example Bergson used was about a group of travelers laughing and a
bystander not affiliated with the group, not laughing. Because the bystander was isolated from the
group and not part of the joke, the bystander did not laugh. For this is a good example of no laughter
in isolation, but there are cases where people can be alone and laugh at themselves in isolation. A
person could trip over their kids toy and laugh because the toy was out of place, even though there
was not another person present laughing with them.
Bergson s three elements have strong observations, but there are components of it that are debatable
that can limit this theory. The first limitation would be concerning that we only laugh at objects that
we have stamped as human or ours. People can laugh at a variety of matters. Another issue would be
with the absence of feeling coinciding with laughter because a person can claim that laughing while
still feeling some sort of emotion is possible. For example, laughing about something that makes you
happy, in that moment you are feeling an emotion while laughing. A person could also say that
laughing is an emotion in itself.
Correspondingly, the second

Oral administration of a single dose of Cistus ladaniferus L. or Silybum marianum L. extract increased

creatinine and the effect of Silybum marianum L. was higher than that of furosemide or Cistus

while furosemide caused hypokalemia. These findings are important since both plants might have a
potential to be used as a future diuretics without hypokalemia which is a common finding with use of
current diuretics such loop diuretics or hydrochlorothiazide. Because there was no effect of the plants`
extract on plasma electrolytes and plasma osmolarity, it might be suggested that the active principle(s)
in both plants may has/have a potassium sparing effect. Furthermore, both plants increased creatinine

The Legacy Of The Capitol
For eight years, it has been my honor to serve as your President. The first decade of this new century
has been a period of consequence a time set apart. Tonight, with a thankful heart, I have asked for a
final opportunity to share some thoughts on the journey that we have traveled together, and the future
of our nation.
Five days from now, the world will witness the vitality of American democracy. In a tradition dating
back to our founding, the presidency will pass to a successor chosen by you, the American people.
Standing on the steps of the Capitol will be a man whose history reflects the enduring promise of our
land. This is a moment of hope and pride for our whole nation. And I join all Americans in offering

Every morning, I received a briefing on the threats to our nation. I vowed to do everything in my
power to keep us safe.
Over the past seven years, a new Department of Homeland Security has been created. The military, the
intelligence community, and the FBI have been transformed. Our nation is equipped with new tools to
monitor the terrorists movements, freeze their finances, and break up their plots. And with strong
allies at our side, we have taken the fight to the terrorists and those who support them. Afghanistan has
gone from a nation where the Taliban harbored al Qaeda and stoned women in the streets to a young
democracy that is fighting terror and encouraging girls to go to school. Iraq has gone from a brutal
dictatorship and a sworn enemy of America to an Arab democracy at the heart of the Middle East and
a friend of the United States.
There is legitimate debate about many of these decisions. But there can be little debate about the
results. America has gone more than seven years without another terrorist attack on our soil. This is a
tribute to those who toil night and day to keep us safe law enforcement officers, intelligence analysts,
homeland security and diplomatic personnel, and the men and women of the United States Armed
Forces.
Our nation is blessed to have citizens who volunteer to defend us in this time of danger. I have
cherished meeting these selfless patriots and their families. And America owes you a debt of gratitude.
And to all our men and

A Streetcar Named Desire Dysfunctional Family
The study spotlights on the familial dysfunctionality as presented in the plays of Tennessee Williams.
The families presented in most of his plays are dysfunctional because of multiple incompatibilities. A
family whose interrelationships serve to detract from, rather than promote, the emotional and physical
health and well being of its members. Dysfunctional families are characterized by following
characteristics which are blaming or failure of responsibility, loose or rigid rules or relationships, and
set family rules. Sexual or physical abuse, addiction to alcohol or drugs, behavior problems, mental
diseases, and aggression can all attribute to dysfunctional families, physical evidence found in The
Glass Menagerie, A Cat on Hot Tin Roof and A Street Car Named Desire. All these families are
dysfunctional families, and overpowering coincides with psychological symptoms and characteristics.
Like a physical disease, the mental and emotional disease shows common symptoms, and with these
symptoms psychologists can diagnose and chart the severity of the disease. The most common
symptoms are rigid discussion which may be confused or chaotic, disagreements that offends the
members of family, a disagreeable environment, tight and unshared emotion, a lack of good humor
and the nature to laugh at one s self and disrespect for privacy. The pursuit for a better world ... Show

The Urban Revolution By V. Gordon Childe
What is an urban revolution? Why is it important for cities to have one? What are that factors that
cause these revolutions? In the articles The Urban Revolution by V.Gordon Childe, The Right to The
City by David Harvey and lastly, What Type of Public Transit for What Type of Public? by Kafui A.
Attoh, displays the different ways the residents in a city react to the social inequality and human
rights.
The Urban Revolution, written by V. Gordon Childe, is an intricate article that attempts to figure out
when, where, and why the phenomenon of cities began. The article also gives a slight description of
what a creates a city, mostly from a historical setting. Throughout the Pleistocene period, all known
human societies were savage in the foregoing sense, and a few savage tribes have survived out of the
way parts to the present day. (Childe 1950). Before the development of cities, the domination of farm
lands existed. The largest villages in prehistoric Europe, comprised of about ...52 small one roomed
dwellings, but 16 to 30 houses was a more normal figure. (Childe 1950). Something I find interesting
in the article is that due to the small demographic, everyone in the prehistoric cities or villages had to
contribute to the hunting. This was because the social surplus was not big enough to feed idle mouths.
Childe went on to say that a city has a hierarchy. He stated that a city makes investments in the
sciences and written system. One thing that stood out to me is when

EasyCar s approach, built on the easyJet model, was quite different than the approaches used by the
traditional rental car companies. EasyCar rented only a single vehicle type at each location it operated,
while most of its competitors rented a wide variety of vehicle types. EasyCar did not work with agents
over 95% of its bookings were made through the company s website, with the remainder of bookings
being made directly through the company s phone reservation system (at a cost to the customer of 0.95
[euro]/minute for the call). Most rental car companies worked with a variety of intermediaries, with
their own websites accounting for less than 10% of their total booking (Click to fly, 2004). And like
easyJet, easyCar managed prices in an attempt to have its fleet rented out 100% of the time and to
generate the maximum revenue from its rentals. EasyCar s information system constantly evaluated
projected demand and expected utilization at each site, and adjusted price accordingly. Because of its
aggressive pricing, easyCar was able to achieve a fleet utilization rate in excess of 90% (Simpkins,
2002) much higher than other major rental car companies. Industry leader Avis Europe, for example,
had a fleet utilization rate of 68% (Avis Europe plc, 2002).

Case Study On Total Quality Management
Study on Total Quality Management for Competitive Advantage in International Business
Abstract
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a comprehensive and structured approach to organizational
management that looks for to increase the quality of products and services through ongoing
refinements in response to continuous feedback. TQM requirements can define independently for a
particular organization or may be in adherence to established standards, such as the International

Nowadays, integration of TQM into strategic business planning is the result of a natural evolution for

Samuel Coleridge s Kubla Khan and the Unconscious
Samuel Coleridge s poem Kubla Khan is a metaphorical journey through a complex labyrinth of
symbols and images that represent the unconscious and seemingly troubled mind. It is a voyage that
continually spirals downward toward uncharted depths, while illustrating the unpredictable battle
between the conscious and the unconscious that exists inside every individual. Moreover, the poem
appears to follow a dreamlike sequence past numerous, vivid images that are mainly artificial
recreations of the narrator s (most likely Coleridge s) previous thoughts and experiences.
Kubla Khan, however, is predominantly a mosaic of fragments of thoughts and incomplete themes.
Most likely, the reader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there is no consistent syntax, rhyme, or meter in Kubla Khan, the poem begins its journey
through the mind in a conscious and calculating manner. The first four lines of the poem, in fact,
appear to almost directly derive from a passage of Purchas s Pilgrimage, as the narrative voice slowly
drifts into a dreamlike state. Coleridge s paraphrasing of a relatively accessible, published piece of
literature seems to provide the narrator with a solid foundation to build his seemingly inaccessible
poem upon.
The fifth line, however, is marked by an indentation. The words down to the sunless sea (5) appear to
initiate an abrupt drop into the unconscious and away from the character Kubla. There is an initial
sense of natural mysticism and Eastern tranquility among the gardens bright with sinuous rills (8) and
a vibrant, incense bearing tree (9) in this scene of fertile greenery. Interestingly, the color green,
uniquely, exists on a dual level, as it is able to convey the vitality of life and vegetation, while
simultaneously conveying an undertone of fear, jealousy, ill humor, and sickness that most likely
dominates Coleridge s own subconscious thoughts and soul green as emerald. This abundant greenery,
however, is soon met by a romantic chasm (12) that ironically, is described as savage and haunted.
After the narrator s initial description of the majestic setting of unconscious thought,

Why I Burned Asap List
The wrong person For legal reasons I cannot mention their real names so we will refer to them as jesse

As they day when by I had to call the people into my office one at a time, and then payout their last

to speed things up and I got down to jesse s name, so I sent her an email asking her to come to my
office unknowingly sending it to jess and not jesse.
She came to my office a few moments after I sent the email. As she entered my office she asked in a
very happy voice, whats up? You needed me? , I had to respond with, Please take a seat. that was

Ambiguity In Born To Run
Particularly, off of Born to Run is Jungleland : an almost ten minute long epic that closes the album.
Particularly, it is characterized as a romance set upon a backdrop of gang oriented violence. Various
aspects of the song have warranted scrutiny; notably, it has been widely argued as to whether the song
takes place in the cities of New Jersey or the streets of Uptown New York City, and whether the
protagonists of the piece are affiliated with the mafia or street gangs. While the meaning behind the
song does not change if the ambiguity was lost, it is worth taking into account. Moreover, this album
combined a number of new musical elements for Bruce Springsteen, such as the violin introduction
that sets a somber tone, and the piano tune ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The solo blends a nice balance of hope and uncertainty, but this vacillation is put to rest when the
saxophone ends and piano begins: slow, soft, and gloomy. This darkness foreshadows the stanza that
follows, in which the Magic Rat is killed and his girl is left on her own. Springsteen may have used
this song as a social commentary, in which he shuts down the notion that gang life is glamorous and
makes the point that it is not all that it is cracked up to be, particularly in the lyrics, The Rat s own
dream guns him down ... / No one watches when the ambulance pulls away / Or as the girl shuts out
the bedroom light ( Jungleland. ). It is clear that here Springsteen is debunking the idea that gangs are
a support system, a family, that many believe them to be, as no one is there to mourn the loss of the
Rat or support the Barefoot Girl in her time of need. Overall, Springsteen used this piece to convey a
message to his audience that fit the time period, as gang violence of all kinds was on the rise,
particularly in the areas for which he lived in and around. Thus, this song brought about innovation
while slotting itself into one of the first of Springsteen s songs to shift toward the spirit of heartland

Gender Roles Peter Pan
Gender Roles in Peter Pan J. M. Barrie s Peter Pan tells the story of the boy who never grew up.
Barrie paints Peter as an extraordinary character living in a mystical world called Neverland, flying
through the air, and fighting villainous pirates. He is also the boy who takes a young girl named
Wendy from England back to Neverland with him. The interaction and interdependence of Barrie s
two characters, Peter and Wendy, symbolize and spread cultural gender stereotypes by mirroring the
stereotypes embodied by the adult characters in the story Mr. and Mrs. Darling and by reflecting the
ideas of gender roles of the time and foreshadowing the children s understanding of reality and
expectations, as well as their eventual maturation.
Wendy s father, Mr. Darling, sets the prime example for adult male stereotype. Barrie characterizes
him as the breadwinner of the Darling family and a proud businessman. Throughout Barrie s insight
into his character, the reader observes him insist upon respect and obedience from his children and
wife; and even the family dog. In one instance, Mr. Darling even boasts to Wendy that his wife, Mrs.
Darling, not only loves him, but more importantly, respects him. This attitude as displayed by the
character of Mr. Darling as the most prominent adult male influence can be argued to be associated
with the male stereotype in many ways. Mr. Darling s character in the text supports the culturally
stereotypical view of the male gender as the

Certainty And Doubt Research Paper
In life, there are many circumstances, in fact multiple in every second we breathe, where we must
make a decision or formulate an idea or position on a situation. Within the time of this decision, there
comes a point where there is a level of certainty and or doubt that persists. By definition, certainty and
doubt are antonyms; however, there can be relationship of certainty and doubt where they are able to
coincide with one another in a very fragile state, but as soon as a certain position turns even slightly
doubtful, the subject may never claim full certainty. In other words, once doubt is presented, there
cannot be total certainty. Confidence is a major factor in determining the relationship between
certainty and doubt. I personally have been through the course of certainty and ... Show more content

During my sophomore year, I was placed fourth among all Alto 1 s in the All Region process. I had

tirelessly on the musical selections and my sight reading abilities both by myself and with my voice

good chance of making the cut, as they take the top five. I was certain that my abilities would be able

best at sight reading and therefore I mainly focused on a certain musical selection that I could never

While the first account of humans engaged in learning may well be the story of Adam and Eve, the
origins of team sports are virtually unknown. Perhaps, team sport pre dates the origins of the Olympic

team sports to academic achievement may be equally as ancient. In Plato s foundational document of

Researchers such as Goldberg and Chandler (1992) look to determine the extent in which society s
emphasis on athletics is in conflict with manifest school function of promoting academic excellence,
transferring knowledge, and fostering the psychological development of the adolescent. An adolescent
s identity formation is sometimes impacted by a school or support system which places more value on
the star athlete rather than the academic honor student, resulting in a short term payoff for the athletic
role. (Goldberg Chandler, 1992) Maximum participation rules and age restrictions have been enacted
to prevent parents from intentionally holding their children back in order to later gain a competitive
edge in athletics. Athletic associations have argued in court for limits to preserve the philosophy that
students attend school primarily for the classroom education and only secondarily to participate in
interscholastic athletic. (Sullivan, Lantz, Zirkel, 2000, p. 262) Inclusiveness, the opportunity for all
students to participate in scholastic sports, has also been raised as an issue. Socio economic status,
family make up and physical or mental disabilities have sometimes precluded students from
participation. Harrison and Narayan s 2003 study found that adolescents from single parent homes
were less likely to participate as were those from substance abusing families. (p.119) Courts have

Measuring World Development Essay
Measuring World Development
Development is a complex economic, social and political phenomenon. There are a range of simple
and composite indicators used to measure development. There are many definitions of development,
perhaps the most used is;
Development refers to a number of characteristics such as demographic change, economic growth, an
increase in the case of resources, modernisation, higher levels of technology and political freedom.
Indicators of development are put into four sectors: Economic, Social, Political and environmental.
These factors can be broken down into two groups, simple and composite. Such simple indictors
would be birth rate, death rate and GNP. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These types of countries are not necessarily not developed , they just have different customs, cultural
differences or they could be nomadic (farming based) or an indigenous population, as described
above.
Maps of the globe are produced to show levels of world development based on three key features;
wealth, social advantage and deprivation. An imaginary line can be seen around the world which
separates the developed countries and the non developed countries. This line is called the Brandt line.
It is a modern day method of measuring development. It basically separates countries based on how
economically stable a country is, how technologically advanced it is, how democratic and how
modern a country is. The line shows most developed countries to the north and west, whereas the least
developed countries to the south and east. As with every theory, there are exceptions. These being
Australia and New Zealand, which are classed as developed countries.
Other indicators of development that are being used today are the PQLI, which is the physical quality
of life index. Also the IHSI, which is the International Human Suffering Index. The PQLI is a
quantitative measure of development and can be calculated by taking the average of three variables.
These are life expectancy, literacy rates,

David as portrayed by Bernini: The sculpture of David shows the position of David in a war where he
is trying to slay Goliath by throwing a stone at him. He is just about to throw stone at him because the
stone is still in his hand. His weight is completely on his right foot as the left foot is backwards and is
raised. Because of this, the right shoulder is a little bent or lowered compared to the left one. His body
is leaned forward towards his right leg. The height of sculpture is almost 6 feet. The sculpture
describes the angry emotion of David. Besides being angry, he seems spontaneous about his reaction
and quite confident too. This sculpture overall indicates how this hero is so much keen about slaying

Writings And Techniques In Slam By Walter Dean Myers
Slam by Walter Dean Myers is a book that shows a collection of styles of writings, and different
techniques used by the author. There were many great characters in the book, also. This book is about
a seventeen year old boy named Greg, who revolves around the game of basketball. He lives in
Harlem and attends the prestigious magnet school Latimer in the South Bronx, which is predominantly
white. He leads the school to great wins, even his former school. His best friend Ice starts to sell
drugs, so they drift apart. When his grandmother got sick, his assistant coach became a fatherly
mentor to him. He expresses that the game of life can either be won, or it can be lost. Greg Slam

Juvenile Corrections Research Paper
Of course, we are all familiar with the overcrowding in our prisons, well within the last decade or so
we have seen an increase in how many juveniles are now being tried as an adult then ending up in our
adult prison system. Statistics show that instead of helping the youth of our nation, the justice system
has given up on them and parents are tired of their children sentenced to a life in prison.
What happened to the fundamentals of our correction system? Are we not supposed to try and reform
them while deterring them from future criminal behavior? If we could apply the practices
implemented towards helping youth offenders we could see a decrease in how many children we see
locked up with adults. There are programs that teach new cognitive skill methods that show alternative
outcomes geared specifically towards determent from poor decision making that has resulted in repeat
offenders.

Barbie Doll Is Bad For Girls
The infamous Barbie doll is still considered to be the most popular toy for girls (and not only for
them). However, the image that the doll itself spreads, is harmful for the girls worldwide, considering
the false body expectations it represents and the portrait of the girls as being unintelligent. Both of the
cases I will explain below. First of all, Barbie doll represent an unrealistic body type and a rigid
beauty ideal that studies show can be harmful to girls. This is dangerous, when considered that from
the young age girls play with the doll and want to be like Barbie. It is not possible to look like the doll

The Destruction Of Our Democracy
The Destruction of Our Democracy
All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be
forbidden by law . This quote from Theodore Roosevelt illustrates how corporate money can be
disastrous when entangled in elections. Unfortunately, the United States continues to grant large
corporations the ability to donate to campaigns, leading to a corrupt campaign system. The Supreme
Court decided in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that companies and Super PAC s
can donate an unlimited amount of money to endorse candidates. The Citizens United ruling has
caused increased political corruption in the United States by giving candidates the money they need to
win an election while changing policies that would be beneficial to their corporate donors and not the
American people.
Pre Citizens United
There were several landmark Supreme Court cases and laws before Citizens United that attempted to
regulate campaign contributions. Political corruption is easily caused by immense sums of funds going
to a candidate. A candidate will be more likely to benefit corporate interests because that will allow
them access to more capital later to help in reelection efforts. This becomes problematic because
average citizens do not have the capacity to donate large sums of money to a candidate. A large
corporation s speech is thus, worth far more than the average citizen. This drastically impacts the
marketplace of ideas. John Stuart Mills in

Theodore Herzl s Influence On Der Judenstaat
Generally accepted to have been the father of modern Zionism, (Wharton, 75) Theodore Herzl wrote
in his groundbreaking piece 1896 Der Judenstaat:
Wherever they live in perceptible numbers, they are more or less persecuted. Their equality before the
law, granted by statute, has become practically a dead letter. They are debarred from filling even
moderately high positions, either in the army, or in any public or private capacity. And attempts are
made to thrust them out of business also: Don t buy from Jews! (Herzl, II. The Jewish Question).
Rather than seeking sympathy, Herzl prefaced his work with these anti Semitic acts in history as a
categorical reason for an autonomous Der Judenstaat, which is literally State of the Jews in German,
and began the movement now known as Zionism. It is interesting to note, however, that anti Semitism,
which may be defined as the prejudice, discrimination and hatred of Jews as a national, ethnic,
religious or racial group, (Anti Semitism) permeated history for millennia before Zionism emerged;
yet, many scholars regard it as the predominant impetus for the rise of the Zionist movement. Anti
Semitism has been an ever pervasive aspect of history since before the birth of Christianity, ... Show

Goldilocks And Red Riding Hood Comparative Essay
The story of Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks are very different but similar in some ways. The
story of Goldilocks has to do with a little girl breaking into a family of bears house, while Little Red
Riding Hood centers on a little girl going to her grandmother s house to later discover there is a wolf
impersonating as her grandma. However, the girls decisions are the reason the stories are even famous.
Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood made different decisions that affected the plot of both stories. If
Little Red Riding Hood had never gone to her grandmother s house, she would never have known
there was a wolf in disguise. The same concept applies to Goldilocks. If she had never wandered into
the bears home or if she had completed her crimes quicker, the story would be completely different.
Red Riding Hood s decisions are cautious and thoughtful, unlike those of Goldilocks. She was being
generous by giving her grandmother some fresh cakes that she made while Goldilocks broke into a
home, ate their food, and broke their furniture. Goldilocks ventures into the woods without her parent
s permission while Red Riding Hood s parents knew her whereabouts. Goldilocks simply doesn t care

causal display, something I would not want people to infer from my presidential bumper sticker. The
powerful, bold font is easy to read and come off as strong;or something that could stand alone. The

for the eyes to read. To read a bumper sticker effortlessly, is something all politicians should utilize.

The Rights Of Women And Education
A sufficient education is something that Westerner s like myself, have taken for granted for a long
time. It s easy to, in all honesty, because we have been raised in a society in which education has been
held at the utmost importance. In the United States women are held at an equal level with men, we ve
fought for this sense of equality for several years and unfortunately, not all women across the world
have had that same success. Women from other countries do not have half of the rights that we do here
in the United States, and this is something that we seem to never really think about. Saudi Arabia is
just one of the many countries around the world in which the women do not have as many rights as
men do. Being a feminist at heart with a hunger for education, it piqued my interest to research the
rights of women and education in Saudi Arabia. If I m being honest, I had expected it to be much
worse than it is, yet it could be so much better at the same time. Saudi women should have every right
to educate themselves in any aspect they want, and though they have fought their way to gaining some
leverage, there are still necessary steps that need to be taken. Saudi Arabia is a country in Southeast
Asia with a population of approximately twenty seven million people. Of that twenty seven million
people, it is estimated that 30% of them are migrant workers. ( Saudi Arabia Demographics Profile

  • 2. ITM 580 Core Comp Essay Core Competencies and the Planning and Implementing of Information Technology Abstract With any organization, rather it be civilian or military focused, there is a common element that resides; organizational competencies. These competencies is what makes any organization unique and identifies how they do the things they do, how relationships with institution division and external entities are developed and handled. With Information technology shifting from an administrative support tool to a strategic role within the organization, the question, or debate, is whether or not the planning and implementation of information technology, based on strategic goals, essentially share the same organizational competencies. This article will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would agree in part, but not wholly. In fact, I agree that Information Technology will be implemented into the organization in such a way that promotes and ensures organizational success of its strategic goals, but I would have to disagree on the order between organizational strategic goals and organizational competencies. With traditional organizational planning, most organizations have each part (department) determine specific programs and projects to support the organizations strategic goals. This is also known as a mix of bottom up and top down planning. The organization creates strategic goals, disseminates it across the organizations departments and has each department design or implement projects and programs to achieve or support the organization with achieving those goals. Instead, if we shifted the level importance from organizational strategic goals to the effective implementation and recognition of organizational competencies, then it is more likely that the organization as a whole will be better aligned across all parts (departments) and each part will more likely identify the appropriate strategic goals. In a report by Cullen Coates and Associates in 2008, Managing Organizational Competencies, they define this as the process of determining how each part of the organization can contribute to each competency will cause all parts of ... • 3. Agricultural Production Simulation Paper Existing climate variability is a fundamental driver of cotton production in Australia. Negative effects of anthropogenic climate change will increase the existing climate related production challenges to the Australia cotton industry most likely through significant fruit loss, lower yields and reduced water use efficiencies due to higher temperatures (Williams et al. 2014; Bange et al. 2010). On average, on cotton producing farms, cotton makes up the largest proportion of farm income (approximately 66%) in terms of gross value of production and yet only comprises about 10% of the total farm area (ABARE 2012; Roth 2010). 80% of cotton producing farms are irrigated and consequently overall production is very sensitive to water availability and price (McRae et al. 2007; Roth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2014) built on this research by using the biophysical crop production simulation model APSIM (Agricultural Production Simulator, (Keating et al. 2003) with one of the hottest and driest future climate change scenarios (the CSIROMk3.5 A1FI scenario) to provide information on the impact of climate change on cotton yield and irrigation water requirements for the southern Queensland region. These simulations highlight the complexity of the cotton production system especially the ameliorating effect of CO2 fertilisation on growth that would otherwise be highly compromised with decreased rainfall. The simulations indicate yields increasing by 5.9% to 2030, but then decreasing by 3.6% to 2050. However, a requirement of the model was that available soil water was kept at 65%. In order to achieve this irrigation volumes needed to be increased by 47.4% (2030) and 48.7% (2050). It is highly questionable whether the adaptation response of increasing irrigation volumes to maintain ASW by this amount is realistic. For example, changes in Government policy lead to the Murray Darling Basin Cap (Authority 2010) reduces the amount of water available for irrigation in the area by 14% by ... • 4. The Theory Of Science And Architecture Architecture can be related to anything such as society or science, society demands the building of their dream and science made building possible. Science and architect share a mutual goal where both intended to improve the society life style or in another word, to achieve community utopia. Science and architect is one of the main elements to promote utopia and this really make the society to believe that utopia exist. The future will be the combination of science and spirituality, and they should be together forever. In fact, only when we successfully continue to improve our level of consciousness and match the level of science and technology, human beings have a future. The future of humanity is very unpredictable, science may change the world as they see fits such as no disease, no hunger or no pain. Science can explain many problems, from the taste of the food to love, because love is the product of science! Nowadays for the environment, sea level rises every year and many countries started land reclamation to fix the problem such as Japan or Netherland. To face these problems, the architect has made a lot of conceptual idea to accommodate future human life. Since then, conceptual floating foundation design has been under development to adapt the environmental issue. It uses the principle of buoyancy to support the design and the principle itself is discovered by the scientist, which architect adapted this principle to the design. • 5. Compare And Contrast Bergson And Davis Theories Philosophers over the years have attempted to generate their own theories of what makes a person laugh. Bergson and Davis s theories have given people an indication of what that could be. Together these philosopher s theories enlighten us to why people might laugh. Bergson and Davis s theories limit us in explaining to the fullest extent of the workings of comedy. Bergson s theory has three elements that he believes constitute why we laugh and claims, ...the mechanical encrusted upon the living, promotes laughter (Bergson 10). While Davis s theory is concerned with the foundation of laughter with incongruities and ambiguities. As well the audience, who finds something funny, instead of the object that is funny. Bergson s theory begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bergson articulates that commonly laughter transpires in a group, and people do not frequently laugh in isolation. For instance, the example Bergson used was about a group of travelers laughing and a bystander not affiliated with the group, not laughing. Because the bystander was isolated from the group and not part of the joke, the bystander did not laugh. For this is a good example of no laughter in isolation, but there are cases where people can be alone and laugh at themselves in isolation. A person could trip over their kids toy and laugh because the toy was out of place, even though there was not another person present laughing with them. Bergson s three elements have strong observations, but there are components of it that are debatable that can limit this theory. The first limitation would be concerning that we only laugh at objects that we have stamped as human or ours. People can laugh at a variety of matters. Another issue would be with the absence of feeling coinciding with laughter because a person can claim that laughing while still feeling some sort of emotion is possible. For example, laughing about something that makes you happy, in that moment you are feeling an emotion while laughing. A person could also say that laughing is an emotion in itself. Interestingly, both plants did not cause changes in the plasma sodium or potassium while furosemide caused hypokalemia. These findings are important since both plants might have a potential to be used as a future diuretics without hypokalemia which is a common finding with use of current diuretics such loop diuretics or hydrochlorothiazide. Because there was no effect of the plants` extract on plasma electrolytes and plasma osmolarity, it might be suggested that the active principle(s) in both plants may has/have a potassium sparing effect. Furthermore, both plants increased creatinine clearance and studying their effect in kidney failure might explore their potential to help increasing creatinine clearance or ameliorating acute/chronic kidney ... Our nation is equipped with new tools to monitor the terrorists movements, freeze their finances, and break up their plots. And with strong allies at our side, we have taken the fight to the terrorists and those who support them. Iraq has gone from a brutal dictatorship and a sworn enemy of America to an Arab democracy at the heart of the Middle East and a friend of the United States. • 10. The Urban Revolution By V. Gordon Childe What is an urban revolution? Why is it important for cities to have one? What are that factors that cause these revolutions? In the articles The Urban Revolution by V.Gordon Childe, The Right to The City by David Harvey and lastly, What Type of Public Transit for What Type of Public? by Kafui A. Attoh, displays the different ways the residents in a city react to the social inequality and human rights. The Urban Revolution, written by V. Gordon Childe, is an intricate article that attempts to figure out when, where, and why the phenomenon of cities began. The article also gives a slight description of what a creates a city, mostly from a historical setting. Throughout the Pleistocene period, all known human societies were savage in the foregoing sense, and a few savage tribes have survived out of the way parts to the present day. (Childe 1950). Before the development of cities, the domination of farm lands existed. The largest villages in prehistoric Europe, comprised of about ...52 small one roomed dwellings, but 16 to 30 houses was a more normal figure. (Childe 1950). Something I find interesting in the article is that due to the small demographic, everyone in the prehistoric cities or villages had to contribute to the hunting. This was because the social surplus was not big enough to feed idle mouths. Childe went on to say that a city has a hierarchy. EasyCar did not work with agents over 95% of its bookings were made through the company s website, with the remainder of bookings being made directly through the company s phone reservation system (at a cost to the customer of 0.95 [euro]/minute for the call). Most rental car companies worked with a variety of intermediaries, with their own websites accounting for less than 10% of their total booking (Click to fly, 2004). Samuel Coleridge s Kubla Khan and the Unconscious Samuel Coleridge s poem Kubla Khan is a metaphorical journey through a complex labyrinth of symbols and images that represent the unconscious and seemingly troubled mind. It is a voyage that continually spirals downward toward uncharted depths, while illustrating the unpredictable battle between the conscious and the unconscious that exists inside every individual. Moreover, the poem appears to follow a dreamlike sequence past numerous, vivid images that are mainly artificial recreations of the narrator s (most likely Coleridge s) previous thoughts and experiences. Although there is no consistent syntax, rhyme, or meter in Kubla Khan, the poem begins its journey through the mind in a conscious and calculating manner. The first four lines of the poem, in fact, appear to almost directly derive from a passage of Purchas s Pilgrimage, as the narrative voice slowly drifts into a dreamlike state. Coleridge s paraphrasing of a relatively accessible, published piece of literature seems to provide the narrator with a solid foundation to build his seemingly inaccessible poem upon. The fifth line, however, is marked by an indentation. The words down to the sunless sea (5) appear to initiate an abrupt drop into the unconscious and away from the character Kubla. There is an initial sense of natural mysticism and Eastern tranquility among the gardens bright with sinuous rills (8) and a vibrant, incense bearing tree (9) in this scene of fertile greenery. Interestingly, the color green, uniquely, exists on a dual level, as it is able to convey the vitality of life and vegetation, while simultaneously conveying an undertone of fear, jealousy, ill humor, and sickness that most likely dominates Coleridge s own subconscious thoughts and soul green as emerald. This abundant greenery, however, is soon met by a romantic chasm (12) that ironically, is described as savage and haunted. Various aspects of the song have warranted scrutiny; notably, it has been widely argued as to whether the song takes place in the cities of New Jersey or the streets of Uptown New York City, and whether the protagonists of the piece are affiliated with the mafia or street gangs. While the meaning behind the song does not change if the ambiguity was lost, it is worth taking into account. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The solo blends a nice balance of hope and uncertainty, but this vacillation is put to rest when the saxophone ends and piano begins: slow, soft, and gloomy. This darkness foreshadows the stanza that follows, in which the Magic Rat is killed and his girl is left on her own. Springsteen may have used this song as a social commentary, in which he shuts down the notion that gang life is glamorous and makes the point that it is not all that it is cracked up to be, particularly in the lyrics, The Rat s own dream guns him down ... / No one watches when the ambulance pulls away / Or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light ( Jungleland. ). It is clear that here Springsteen is debunking the idea that gangs are a support system, a family, that many believe them to be, as no one is there to mourn the loss of the Rat or support the Barefoot Girl in her time of need. Overall, Springsteen used this piece to convey a message to his audience that fit the time period, as gang violence of all kinds was on the rise, particularly in the areas for which he lived in and around. Barrie paints Peter as an extraordinary character living in a mystical world called Neverland, flying through the air, and fighting villainous pirates. He is also the boy who takes a young girl named Wendy from England back to Neverland with him. The interaction and interdependence of Barrie s two characters, Peter and Wendy, symbolize and spread cultural gender stereotypes by mirroring the stereotypes embodied by the adult characters in the story Mr. and Mrs. Darling and by reflecting the ideas of gender roles of the time and foreshadowing the children s understanding of reality and expectations, as well as their eventual maturation. Wendy s father, Mr. Darling, sets the prime example for adult male stereotype. Barrie characterizes him as the breadwinner of the Darling family and a proud businessman. Throughout Barrie s insight into his character, the reader observes him insist upon respect and obedience from his children and wife; and even the family dog. In one instance, Mr. Darling even boasts to Wendy that his wife, Mrs. Darling, not only loves him, but more importantly, respects him. This attitude as displayed by the character of Mr. Darling as the most prominent adult male influence can be argued to be associated with the male stereotype in many ways. It is interesting to note, however, that anti Semitism, which may be defined as the prejudice, discrimination and hatred of Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group, (Anti Semitism) permeated history for millennia before Zionism emerged; yet, many scholars regard it as the predominant impetus for the rise of the Zionist movement.
