who work on multiple tasks at the same time that are different from each other are more productive
because different tasks lead to learning which assigns values to the tasks. When someone has
meaning for the tasks at hand then he or she will be more productive. Another misconception that

they are different. Productivity involves being more alert with one s surroundings and focusing

The socialization process can be described as the process one undergoes to learn the acceptable
way to behave in society. From a young age, people are taught how to behave, what to think, and
how to look. These variables create rules or norms in society today. Examples of a social norm
would be gender rules today. Zimbardo used the example of a man being interested in ballet
being seen as unusual and being criticized because of his interests (Zimbardo 144). This is a
perfect example of socialization because in society we are groomed to believe that ballet is
girly or feminine. While there is nothing about dance itself that is feminine, humanity has
created an association with ballet and females. This association is a behavior that is learned
during the socialization process. Another example of the socialization process common in today
s society would be the gender rule that women are to be submissive in the relationship.
Traditionally women stay home, take care of the kids, and cook meals. While none of these acts
in them self are submissive an association with these acts and submission from a wife to a
husband has formed. This was a perfect example of the socialization process for young girls
growing up with the goal to have a family, a husband, and kids, only to perform wifely duties as the
