Weaker Yen Essay
I. Introduction
Japan s exports rate last month at the fastest annual rate in more than two years. The weaker yen
also boosted the energy heavy import bill, although the rose 10 per cent from a year earlier,
economists said the net effect of the yen s retreat remained positive, because higher export revenues
translate into higher exporter earnings and consequently more investment and worker s bonuses.
Japan s stock market is heavy on exporting, The Prime Minister Abe s government also hopes that
the export windfall will shore up general business and consumer confidence. This is way to aim to
pull Japan out of its liquidity trap and end nearly two decades of economic stagnation and deflation.
This essay will discuss about background and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
III. Objectives and Effects of Weaker Yen
The Prime Minister Abe tried to make lower currency of Yen with two strategies. First strategy is
Printing Money and second strategy is Buying Yen from other countries . Both of strategies
increase supply of JPY. [pic]
Weaker Yen sounds like loss of Japan. Actually, it brings a lot of benefits to Japan. There are many
effects from weaker Yen.
3.1 Growth of Export Companies
Japan s fiscal policy is demand pull for international consumers and Cost Push for domestic
consumers.
DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) thinks that cost push inflation will increase the cost of goods and
services however, having demand pull is more important. It means growing demand will pull the
economy into stability (J. Metcalfe, May 2013). Lower value Yen is same as income for household.
It means an international consumer is able to buy Japanese products in lower cost.
[pic]
In Figure 3.1, previous currency of Yen was Y0 and after weaker Y1, it turned as income for
international consumers. Thus, aggregate demand for Japanese products. Increased exporting will
activate economy of Japan and there will be Inflationary gap between Y0 and Y1. It is enough to
stimulate to recover Japanese economy. The Minister Abe thought weaker Yen will bring increase
of export and demand for domestic products and services and it is true. The exporting rate of

My Social Life Over My Academic Life
While growing up, doing well in school always came naturally to me. I took every Advanced
Placement class my high school offered and still graduated with a 3.85 GPA. Unfortunately, after
high school, I learned that my methods in high school no longer worked as well in college. In
2007, I enrolled at Augustana Collegein Sioux Falls, SD. Augustana is a small, private university,
and I learned plenty of academic, as well as life, lessons while attending. My grades at Augustana
dropped slightly at first compared to what they were in high school. I finally realized that studying
would be necessary; however I allowed myself to fall into the same trap as many other new
students, and I chose to prioritize my social life over my academic life. After five semesters at
Augustana, I realized two things. First of all, I decided I would need to fix my priorities, and,
second, I figured out how expensive that private school actually was. Plagued by the idea that I
had already ruined my life with my decision thus far, my thoughts careened out of control.
Immediately following the winter semester of 2009, I transferred to Minnesota State University in
Mankato, MN. I had hoped a new start would help, but as time went on, the thoughts worsened
(with additional causes supplementing the previous reasons). Alcohol became more than just a
social lubricant. Though alcohol kept me going for a long time, my grades suffered. During this
time I proposed to my wife, who would have been

University of Phoenix Situation Analysis and Problem Statement
Global Communications (GC) is a technology firm struggling with the after effects of the bust in
the Information TechnologyIndustry. GC is faced with how to rebound, based upon the strategic
initiatives presented by the Senior Leadership Team. This paper will explore the real problem that
Global Communication faces meeting the challenge for continued competition in the technology

Continued moves to offshore locations are causing many consumers to look twice at companies
that use this tactic for an increased market share (Stones, 2003). The final issue identified is the
possibility of litigation by the Union officials.
Opportunity Identification There are many opportunities for Global Communications in
moving forward with its plan of action. The first opportunity is the possibility of increased
technical sophistication by partnering with a satellite provider to offer video services and a
satellite version of Broadband. This in turn will allow GC the opportunity to increased market
share. By providing the consumer with a more diverse product to choose from, GC will be able
to gain a competitive edge in the market and garner new customers in the process. Another
opportunity found is the chance to cut unit cost by outsourcing the call center to India or
Ireland. This move will allow GC the chance to become a key player in the global arena. It will
also provide GC with a labor force that is technically advanced to meet the needs of a growing
market at a lower price (Rossheim, 2006). The combination of all of these opportunities will
provide GC with the much needed profitability capabilities to sustain its operations for the next
three years as well as produce a higher yield for stockholders.

The Searchers Narrative Structure Essay
From Boy to Man: The Searchers Through the Eyes of Martin Pawley
The narrative structure of John Ford s The Searchers is centered primarily around the actions and
knowledge of men. Throughout the movie, men are the figures of action, they are out scouring
the land for lost loved ones while the women stay home and wait with hope. In The Searchers, just
as with any search, the limiting factor involved is knowledge. Ethan, the main character, begins
the movie as the leader of the searchers. His assumed role as leader is due to his past excursions
as a Texas Ranger. These past experiences enable Ethan to lead most effectively because they
provide him with knowledge. Ethan has the knowledge to survive on the frontier, but most
importantly his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the first battle with the Native Americans, the crew is broken up due to Clayton taking a
wounded man home. Ethan is prepared to drive on by himself, fueled by his racism, but Brad and
Marty show their true colors and bravery, stepping up to accompany Ethan. Marty s willingness to
risk his life to avenge his family s death signifies his transition to manhood. It also portrays the
morals and ideals of 19th century western America. Although Marty is part Cherokee, he portrays
the very American value of fighting in the name of what you believe in and what you love:
freedom and family. John Ford uses Marty s Native American heritage along with his strong morals
to contrastthe foundation of Ethan s racism, thus undermining racism in general. In the film, Ethan
first appears as a strong American soldier while Marty is tainted with Indian blood. Upon further
evaluation, it is clear that Ethan is a lost soul with no true friends or loving family. Ford uses
Ethan s status as a social outcast to exemplify that being driven by racism leads to a lonely,
unfulfilling life.
Marty s relationship with Laurie proves to be important in the development of Marty s character. It
gives Ford a medium to present Marty as the narrator. Ford uses letters from Marty to Laurie as a
means of fast forwarding through the years of the hunt while still keeping the viewer updated on
Marty and Ethan s progress. After this point, in addition to more letters to

Equipment Review of the Vertec and Bertec
Equipment Review
The equipment in this study includes a Vertec vertical jump measuring system (Figure 1) and a
Bertec force plate (Figure 2). The Vertec vertical jump measuring system measures individuals
vertical jump capabilities in inches. The Bertec force plate measures the ground reaction forces in
newtons produced when an individual performs a jump and when they land following a jump. The
Vertec vertical jump measuring system is constructed out of a steel frame and has horizontal vanes
that rotate when the hand touches them. The vanes spaced half inch between and the height of the
vanes is adjustable from 6 feet to 12 feet tall. The Vertec vertical jump measuring system is
considered the gold standard for measuring vertical jump height and its measurements have been
found reliable.1 The Bertec force plate is a much more complicated device. It uses strain gauges to
measure the force applied to the force plate. The force applied to the plate by the subject will be
equal to the forces the plate applies to the subject as determined by Newton s third law. When the
strain gauge is compressed the resistance of the current running through the gauge decreases
however when the strain gauge is placed under tension the resistance of the current traveling
through it increases. The Bertec force plate measures forces applied to the device in the x, y and z
axis using strain gauges. The strain gauges produce signals when force is applied to the force plate
surface, which are

The Wrong Direction
Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God
wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there
are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said.
For instance, Islamwas started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with Godand
became a prophet. Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however,
when Mohammed came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the
message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion:
Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many... Show

The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a
Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die,
based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for
forgiveness and didn t commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person
disobeyed the Christian rules, that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific
element of religion is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for
Christians, and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the
hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will ask a favor of
God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please God, help me lose weight .
This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something
personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose
weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with
virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to
God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by
the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is
simply testing one s faith. I would

How Technology Has Changed The Environment
In the last decade, society has become increasingly worried about the impact that humans have on
the environment. Many people believe that climate change is actively going to change the way how
people live in the future. In response to the public concern, many companies are searching for
greener methods of energy output. Instead of coal and gasoline, corporations are becoming more
socially responsible in their actions. For example, long standing establishments like Walmart has
installed LED lighting in all of their stores to cut down on energy consumption and more restaurants
are switching to locally sourced and organic ingredients. Although many companies focus on
particular aspects of their business, a fairly new automobilecompany is... Show more content on

Company Overview
For decades, the American car industry was extremely consolidated and large companies such as
Ford and GM. The large car companies have a vast number of assets and could squash any
competitor that tried to enter due to the high barrier to entry of the car industry. Even though these
companies had immense numbers of resources, they still had trouble finding viable fuel sources
besides gas. In 2003, a couple of engineers out of Silicon Valley had an idea that would
revolutionize the car industry by finding a radical new way to power the traditional automobile
(About Tesla, 2016).
In Silicon Valley, two experienced engineers, Mark Eberhard and Marc Tappening wanted to
build a more efficient automobile. The two found this small company out in California called AC
Propulsion that created a car named the tzero. The car had a motor that could go 0 60 in 4 seconds
and felt like a sports car. Both were intrigued with the extraordinary technology found in the tzero
and decided to figure out why it was not main stream. Through a little research, they discovered that
GM tried to manufacture an electric automobile named the EV 1, but failed miserably due to
marketing troubles.

Can Presidential Systems Work Effectively Within Deeply...

Can presidential systems work effectively in deeply divided societies? [Make reference to at least
two cases of your choosing.]
Thesis Statement
Presidentialism is a system of government in which the president is elected both chief executives
and as head of government (Ogelsby SuГЎrez, 1968) and is the main system of democratic
government apart from parliamentary systems. Presidential systems tend to centralise priorities of
the government to stabilise society. Normally, they are classed into separate regions of power;
where the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government are dependent on one
another and cannot work effectively in deeply divided societies. This argument is ruled by the
fact that they are 1) divisive, causing isolation between ethnoreligious groups. Elites are
prioritised over minority working class groups and 2) inherently majoritarian, as only a single
position is given causing proportionality to become impossible. In places such as Latin America
and Northern Ireland, we see the ways in which these theories have proven ineffectiveness.
However, presidential systems aim to separate powers in order to protect citizens rights and deter
abuse of power for good governance overall. Through this presidential systems, however, have
quick decisiveness in resolving societal issues. Without effective separation; executive, legislative
and judicial powers,

Social Media And Its Impact On Society
For many of us, social media has become an important way to keep up with what is going on
with our families as well as what is happening in the world around us. In the past ten years, social
media has also become a major staple in marketing for businesses because there has been a
whirlwind of development. In 2006, Facebook was opened to the public and Twitter was launched.
Not long after, Facebook surpassed MySpaces user count and Barack Obamabecame out first Social
Media President. In 2010, Twitter launched the ability to postsponsored tweets, with Instagram
following in 2013.
We often view social media as just a place to do social networking, but for businesses it is a much
different animal. Facebook became an avenue for new user engagement tactics by companies
looking to expand their customer base. (What We Learned About Marketing in the Last Decade of
Social Media Evolution , n.d) Marketing is key to any business s success. With the greater use of
mobile technology (cell phones and tablets), businesses had to be able to adapt their advertising to
display on mobile devices.
While anyone can use social media in relation to their business, there is a certain protocol that
should be followed. Businesses should not limit themselves to posting promotional content only.
This can lead to the downfall of their social media presence. Consumers want engagement that goes
beyond promotional information. Another important aspect of successful social media engagement
is posting

Francis Scott Key s The Star Spangled Banner
The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key on the day September 16, 1814 and
the poem was set to the tune of Anacreon in Heaven. The original name of the poem was The

it was written. Francis Scott Keywas born on August 1, 1779 in Fredrick County, Maryland, to a
wealthy and highborn family on the plantation of Terra Ruba. Francis would be homeschooled

Scarface Vs. The Godfather
Gangster films are developed around the sinister actions of criminals or gangsters, particularly bank
robbers, underworld figures, or ruthless hoodlums who operate outside the law, stealing and
violently murdering their way through life. In some instances for example, the movie Scarface,
they have that one person that runs everything that ranges from drug operations to giving out orders
to murder people, whereas in The Godfatherthe business is ran by the whole family which is usually
called the mob. Gangster movies are similar in some ways such as numerous murders and handling

lifestyle. Some filmmakers use the filmnoir technique or very... Show more content on

The film is modified from the 1986 book, Wiseguys that traces Henry s rise and fall in New York
s mob scene. Henry evolves into the mobster life quickly and feels like he s on top of the world.
After all, he gets married, starts a family, and becomes quite successful in his chosen line of
work. With factors such as organized crimes, tensions rise, amongst other things gets Henry
further involved in the drug trade. Henry temperament changes and he comes edgy, frantic, and
unpredictable. Henry becomes overwhelmed and realizes his erratic behavior has made him a
target with some associates. Henry then enters a Witness Protection Program, freeing himself of
the crime family he always wanted to be a part of and also taking part of capturing ones who he
referred to as family. Goodfellas exposed both the luxury and the harsh reality of being in the
gangster lifestyle. Director Martin Scorsese didn t want to follow a traditional narrative structure
but instead present it episode by episode. He wanted to start in the middle and move backwards
and forwards to depict Henry s conflicted lifestyle of being part of the mob. Scorsese used
elements such as lighting, freeze frames, long tracking shots, jump cuts, color, and materialistic
elements to sweep the audience away and carry them along the ride of Henry s life. He created his
own frenetic style in order to overwhelm the audience with images and

Jesse Debenport s Poem Hey Daddy
Loss, glumness, and hurt have you read the poem Hey Daddy ? Jesse Debenport expresses
extensive misery because he lost his father, but we were never told what happened to him. I
believe his father left the family, but intends to still have a relationship with his son. First, I
believe the father left because the way Jesse expresses his emotions makes me infer that his father
can still return, but it s a little uncomfortable to go back to a familythat he left. In the poem, Hey
Daddy(Please Come Back) By Jesse Debenport, Jesse states with strong desire, I ll try and set
aside at least one day a week... So we can hop in the truck and go four wheeling. This shows me
that Jesse s father is still alive because a dead father can t go four wheeling anywhere. This also
tells me that his father can still come back, if they can still go four wheeling together. Jesse also
states, Remind me to give you a hug goodnight I never want you to feel like I m leaving you out
to dry... Again, this tells me his father is still alive and can t be dead. This also makes me feel like

Jesse states in the first paragraph, There are a couple of things you missed... Here are a couple
of things I want you to remember. All of these quotes from the poem tell me that his father is

wants his father to remember somethings about him. Also the title tells us his father can come
back because he wants his father to return. People might believe that his father died, but it doesn t
add up. Jesse told his father his feelings and seems to intend for him to read his letter, and there
are no mailboxes at gravesites. It also can t be an emotional letter just to express himself because
Jesse talks about asking his father to spend time with him. This all shows that his father can t be

Cells And Organistics Of Plastic Stherent Stromal Cell...
The majority of studies and clinical trials have used plastic adherent stromal cell populations
expanded in culture. So the starting cell population is heterogeneous comprising progenitors and
committed fibroblasts that are less efficacious. By immunoselecting clonogenic MSCs with
specific surface markers by flow cytometry or magnetic bead sorting, a homogeneous population
of starting cells can be obtained (Lv et al., 2014). As mentioned in section 1.1.1. MSCs are a rare
population of cells in tissues, accounting for 1 4% of cells which decrease with increasing age
(Stolzing et al., 2008). Due to their rarity, MSCs require extensive culture in vitro to generate

Studies have shown that the survival rate was significantly less in patients treated with late
passage MSCs compared to early passage MSCs (von Bahr et al., 2012). Heterogeneity and
senescence decrease efficiency of culture expanded MSCs with reduced and/or variable clinical
outcome as has been the experience to date with bmMSCs (von Bahr et al., 2012, Prockop et al.,
2014).
Uncultured transgenic MSCs injected into irradiated mice showed 55 65% recovery from bone
marrow which decreased to 10% and 0% after only 24 hours and 48 hours of culture respectively,
showing both the homing capacity of bmMSCs and the shortness of their survival in vivo on
intravenous infusion (Rombouts and Ploemacher, 2003). The authors also suggested that cell cycle
stage of bmMSCs at the time of transplantation may be a factor influencing survival, whereby the
primary quiescent MSCs in G0 phase of cell cycle survive longer, while the cultured cells are G1
or later stage of the cells cycle have limited survival (Rombouts and Ploemacher, 2003). The
homing ability of MSCs decreases significantly if they have been pre cultured (Sohni and Verfaillie,
2013). This shows that culture conditions likely modified the homing receptors for chemokines.
The MSC markers CD73, CD90 and CD105 appear to be expressed consistently regardless of the
culture environment, passage stage or the functional ability of MSCs (Maumus et al., 2011, Lo

Russian Gulag Essay
The Gulags of the Soviet Union have been compared to the concentration camps of Nazi
Germany, but in reality they were worse. The Gulags were isolated prison camps peppered across
Siberia. Death, torture, and disease raged within their walls, while endless work went on outside.
Gulag personnel were cruel and unfeeling, using terrible punishment methods and playing senseless
games that cost prisoners their lives. Political enemies of the Bolshevik party made up a significant
portion of the prisoner population, with most sent to the infamous camp system Kolyma. Liberation
was painfully slow, but by 1960, all of the Gulags were gone.

In addition to this, in the mindset of the day, if someone was suspected of anti Bolshevik
activities, they were automatically guilty. The investigator would look for anything he could find
that could possibly make the person guilty at all. Sometimes the investigator would take up a
random piece of literature, say it was bad, and have the suspect shipped off, even if the
incriminating evidence was something as benign as the children s story Goodnight Moon. The
investigator would not be the one to tell the suspect what he was even accused of; he would just
take the evidence and people would soon kidnap the suspect and toss him in a cattle car to Siberia,
which was cramped with a mass of other convicts. When the prisoners reached the Gulag, an official
there would take everyone s valuables and toss the convicts into cramped cells. The interrogation
could start at any time. For some the interrogations were that day, and for others it never came and
their lives were lived out in the dirty cells. When and if the interrogator got a confession out of
someone, a prison sentence was read out and the convict was sent off to the actual Gulag.
Interrogation was possibly the most terrifying part of the early Gulag prison term. The interrogator
could be anyone with any type of personality, but he or she always had a myriad of torture methods

their back completely touches the mat. Wazaris are scored when an opponent falls partially on

Cat Proof A Room Analysis
You may think curiosity is the domain of kittens after all, the world is a big, strange new
place to them. You wouldn t be wrong in assuming that those fuzzy little maniacs are going to
get into everything; however, adult cats are just as guilty. Adopt a shelter cat, and their new
world is going to seem just as big and every bit as strange. Bring a new item into your home,
and the cats you ve had all their lives will be just as struck with awed fascination. So how to
cat proof a room? The whole task may be a good deal simpler than you think.

The Fish Child Analysis
Although the worlds of Buenos Aires and La Plata are conveyed throughout The Fish Child, there
are also references that do not reflect the literal metropolis. However, these imaginary geographies
still allude to spatial divisions created through cultural, social and economic divides within Buenos
Aires:
Los Chinos is not a typical slum. The vast majority of its inhabitants are children of the rich who
exchanged their roots for the path of art, in hippyism and perdition. Painters, musicians, and
artisans hung up their suits as future leaders of the world and squatted on a portion of river landfill
(Puenzo 118).
Although Los Chinos is not an official reference to a slum within Buenos Aires, the explanation of
the area reinforces the use of geographic locations to represent social and economic class. It is ...

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Data Mining
DATA MINING IN MEDICAL FIELD
ABSTRACT
Data mining is the process of releasing concealed information from a large set of database and it
can help researchers gain both narrative and deep insights of exceptional understanding of large
biomedical datasets. Data mining can exhibit new biomedical and healthcare knowledge for clinical
decision making. Medical assessment is very important but complicated problem that should be
performed efficiently and accurately. The goal of this paper is to discuss the research contributions
of data mining to solve the complex problem of Medical diagnosis prediction. This paper also
reviews the various techniques along with their pros and cons. Among various data mining
techniques, evaluation of classification is widely adopted for supporting medical diagnostic
decisions.
General Terms Data Mining, Classification, Medical.

Should Chinese Immigrants Be Allowed In America
On 1/27/2017, President Trump signed executive orders on prohibiting citizens of certain
countries from entering the US for the two months and suspending the access of all refugees for
four months. Americans, especially those who are from seven Muslim countries, were shocked
and outraged After Trump s executive orders were announced. A lot of protests were going on at
the airports all over the country because of Trump s travel ban. Most people think it is not
acceptable in America because America is a freedom country. However, when looking back at
American history, Chinese immigrants used to have the same situation. In 1882, the Chinese

Before European settlers colonized parts of Maryland, the area was dominated by mixed

Analysis Of All Quiet On The Western Front By Eric Remarque
The novel All Quiet on the Western Front written by Eric Remarque is a powerful anti war novel.
It is about a young man of nineteen who fights in the German army at the western front. He is
accompanied by his friends and soon realise that war isn t glorious or honourable, and they live in
constant terror. Throughout the novelRemarque describes the physical and psychological horrors
of war as well as how they have become the lost generation and the question of who is the enemy.
He includes many writing techniques to describe each topic, especially the physical horrors of war.
Throughout the novel Remarque explains the physical horrors of war and the effect they have on
soldiers through the use of descriptive language. During the war these men were seen with their
skulls blown open, their two feet cut off, men without mouths, without jaws, without faces (Pg.
91). These injuries are horrific and that no men should ever have to endure. Remarque also uses
descriptive language to describe these horrors. An example of imagery is taking his splinted arm
(pg51); this produces an image of his arm in our heads. Remarque is also very honest in his
writing and gives us in depth accounts of horror throughout. He uses brutal and graphic words as
well. A good example of the use of these types... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

been destroyed long ago (Pg.93) and there life is limited to death (Pg.173). All the beliefs they

Remarque describes that they have lost all their youth in the war Youth is long ago. We are old

the soldier s lives. Each soldier loses his youth throughout and feels isolated while trying to fight off

Pros And Cons Of Charlie Gordon
Learning about the world is challenging enough, but to unlearn it knowing what is being lost is
even more burdensome. Charlie Gordon is a man that learned the world and lost it all. Is
knowledge admirable while it can be retained or is ignorance bliss when it can t? Knowledge is
excellent, even if it is only for a little while, even if it is retained for a short period because people
know what the world is, even when that knowledgeis lost, people will retain a certain understanding
of the world before they unlearned it. Some say Knowledge is a wonderful tool in life, but if a man
acquires knowledge, but soon unlearns the knowledge yet understands how the world should be,
and then loses it, ignoranceis bliss so the man does not know how people treat them in atrocious
ways, and it shall stay that way for his/her benefit. . All people deserve to acquire Knowledge, so
they have the experience of how life should be. Charlie Gordon acquires knowledge of how the
world is and how people treat people who have mental setbacks. To come from a position where he
is made fun of, to know this, and then back to being treated as a person that has a mental disability,
knowing how he is treated has multiple pros including some cons.

Proper Grooming A Dog
Proper dog grooming requires the proper knowledge, preparation, and equipment. It is extremely
important to groom your dog as frequently as is recommended. Proper grooming is important for
dogs for most of the same reasons that it is important for people. When your dog is clean and
trimmed it feels happy, satisfied, and self confident. Besides that, proper grooming will keep your
doghealthy. Dirty dogs will tend to become infested with harmful, parasitic insects like fleas and
ticks. Your dog will be less healthy and happy if you fail grooming at the proper frequency.
Proper knowledge of dog grooming entails your understanding of your particular breed of dog and
the grooming protocol required. There are different procedures that must be followed if the dog has

Female Characters in Hamlet
Introduction
Shakespearean tragedy is a story of one, or at most two persons. As a rule, they are male
protagonists. But to say that Shakespeare s female characters are shallow, undeveloped and used
just as a decoration on the stage is very wrong. Women in Shakespeare s tragedies have no leading
role and they are, to paraphrase Northrop Frye,[1] not tragic heroines, but heroines in a tragedy.
All female characters in Shakespeare s tragedies have one thing in common they end up dead. It is
always an untimely, unnatural death. This rule (rather than coincidence) is a theme of many
debates among philologists, critics, psychologists, psychiatrists and philosophers.
As Hamlet is one of the most reflective Shakespeare s plays, the ... Show more content on

She had lost her mother, and has only a father and a brother, affectionate by worldly, to take care
of her. To the persons in the play, she brings the thought of flowers. Laertes names her Rose of

on the grave.
Some scholars believe that Ophelia s name which means succor in Greek, a seemingly
inappropriate designation for so victimized a character may have been used in error instead of
Aphelia, meaning simplicity or innocence . Both names were rare in Shakespeare s time.
Ultimately, Ophelia s insanity is the consequence of the actions of others, and she is unquestionably
a victim of the tragic events that beset Denmark throughout the play. [5]
Ophelia and male characters in Hamlet Ophelia s affection for her brother is shown in two or
three delicate strokes. Her love for her father is deep, though mingled with fear. For Hamlet she
has, some say, no deep love and perhaps she is so near childhood that old affections have still the
strongest hold; but certainly she has given to Hamlet all the love which her nature is yet capable.
Beyond these three beloved ones she seems to have eyes and ears for no one. Her existence is
wrapped up in these three.
On this childlike nature and on Ophelia s inexperience everything depends. Her father and brother
are jealously anxious for her because of her ignorance and innocence; and we resent

U.s. Procurement And Strategic Sourcing Activities
CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION
1.1BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
From the late Nineties, a raft of latest e commerce technologies emerged that aimed to revolutionize
operating practices, replace existing businesses and lead in the production of new business models
(Sinha, I.2000; Barua et al.,2001). Following this growth in use of e commerce in business to
business markets, there has been important adoption of latest supply chain related technology and
applications by organizations globally. The procurementfunction has been notably stricken by this
trend with a foretold growth in e procurement applications covering each transactional shopping for
and strategic sourcing activities (Croom S, 2000). A major contributor behind this development has
been the evolution of the procurement function towards an additional strategic role in supporting
both, company goals and supply chain objectives.
Procurement is a central service provided by a zealous team of executives. It functions at the
interface between the organizations, the external supplier, marketplace and also the organizations
operational processes (Knudsen D, 2003). This implies that the procurement processes and data
have to be on the market for one or all actors within the supply chain to optimize the advantages of e
procurement. The applications that inform the e procurement landscape are designed to alter the
buying cycle, optimize pay, improve methods and progress, support bidding and tendering and

Nt1310 Unit 1 Data Storage System
Equation ref{e.cost2} depends on distribution of the data as well. Let $T_{cap}$ be the total
capacity of disk in a node and $T_{used}$ be the total used space. Therefore the ideal storage on
each volume/disk should be $I_{storage} = T_{cap} / T_{used}$. The volume of data density is
difference between ideal storage and current DFS used ratio, in other words volume data density
for one node is $DD_{volume} = I_{storage} dfsUsedRatio$, where $DD_{volume}$ is volume
of data density. A positive value of $DD_{volume}$ indicates that disk is under utilized and a
negative indicates that disk is over utilized. Now the we can calculate data distribution around the
data center. This is done by computing nodes with maximum skew from $I_{storage}$ values, for
that we sum all the absolute values of $DD_{volume}$. The node data density is calculated as:
$node_{DD}= sum_{d_{i}epsilon DD_{volume}(I)} left | d_{i} right |$ cite{jiraissue1312},

The larger blocks offer several advantages over smaller blocks. It reduces the number of
interactions with NameNode and also reduces a size of metadata that needs to be stored in the

larger blocks is almost similar to the smaller blocks. However, HDFS blocks are larger in
comparison to disk blocks, in order to minimize the cost of seeks. Thus, in our case, all the
interaction of deletion is done through a checkerNode. The checkerNode sends the delete

the metadata from inodes, it does not need to make a connection with NameNode or checkerNode.

Baseball Case Study
The next study was in 2015 and was a total of 30 baseball players. The players returned to their
previous level of competition with an 82% rate. That study also showed a great number of players
came back with great speed as well, just over 12 months (O Brien 2015). Another study was over
137 MLB pitchers. The study focused on whether the pitchercould return and maintain the same
workload as before. The study concluded that the pitchers that have come back and are fully
healed do not need a lesser work load to continue to be healthy (Keller 2017). The next study that
was concerned with how a pitcher returned to the game was analyzed from numerous different
pitchers from 2008 2013. The study focused on if the pitcher changed his pitch... Show more

However, sometimes players will find complications with their elbow after they get back to
playing the game. When this happens, a good option is getting revision UCL reconstruction. A
2015 study of 271 pitchers of various more pitchers get a revision procedure than what people
realize. Of the 271 pitchers included in the study, 40 (15%) required at least 1 revision procedure
during their playing career. Three cases required a second UCL revision reconstruction. The
average time from primary surgery to revision was 5.2 years (range, 1 13 years). The average
length of career following primary reconstruction for all players was 4.9 years (range 0 22
years) (Wilson 2015). While no one would prefer to need a revision surgery, the success after the
revision surgery can be good. One study concluded that MLB pitchers who require revision UCL
reconstruction after returning to play following primary UCL reconstruction pitch at or above their
pre primary UCL reconstruction workload whereas control pitchers who did not require revision
pitch significantly less, below their pre primary UCL reconstruction (Keller 2017). So their study
found that if you have the revision procedure, you are likely to bounce back and pitch better than if
you have never needed the revision procedure. Even though pitchers tend to play better after
returning from their revision procedure, most

Flexible Organization Essay
A proper flexible organization provides its work force arrangements where employees are given
greater freedom to balance their work and personal commitments such as family, higher education,
community activities, religious commitments, professional development, and general interests.
Above is Atkinson s model of a flexible firm. He argued that firms increasingly seek 4 kinds of
flexibility functional, numerical, pay, distancing.
Functional flexibility is a qualitative approach to work, and refers to management s ability to
deploy and redeploy particular sections of the workforce on a wide range of tasks in response to
market demand as and when required (Sparrow 1998 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 241 242). To

2002 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242), facilitates the reduction of the core or permanent
workforce
Financial flexibility is a compensation system designed to facilitate the development of
numerical and functional flexibility. It provides the duality of allowing market forces to dictate
relative wage rates for the external workforce and provides the incentive for the core workforce to
increase its skill base by relating pay to skill levels (Teicher Holland 2006, p. 242)
The incorporation work time flexibility or internal numerical flexibility provides the organization
with the flexibility to arrange and adjust work patterns and leads to a closer correlation between
labour utilization and production demands without financial penalty or the additional costs of
hiring labour (Felstead Jewson 1999; Ozaki 1999 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242)
The use of flexibility in the business centers on securing lower labour costs, tighter manning levels,
higher machine utilization, greater staff mobility and few interruptions and bottlenecks in
production (Blyton 1992, p.301 cited in Sheridan, Conway 2001 pp. 8)
Flexible work environments also improve employee retention. With the pool of talent in markets
becoming smaller as well as companies getting more and more competitive, many current and
potential job candidates rather work for a company

Analysis Of The Poem The Lighthouse
Safiya Rasheed

The Meaning of Life in Woolf s To the Lighthouse
Life, when viewed as a compilation of fleeting memories and moments, seems chaotic, miserable
and causes one to question the purpose of it. Each of the characters of To the Lighthouse struggle
with this same realization and all strive to find permanence and meaning within their lives. While
the characters search for the meaning of life within their realms of experience, ultimately they all
fail to find lasting meaning. To the Lighthouse, a novel structured by Woolf as deeply involved in
the consciousness of the characters, their perception of meaning in the world, and the ephemeral
nature of life, ultimately suggests that although the goal of finding meaning in life is unattainable,
it is the struggle for balance and meaning that achieves purpose and self contentment. Throughout
the novel, the lighthouse symbolizes the ultimate destination, as it represents the moment the
characters find the true meaning of life. Once the characters complete the journey to the lighthouse
they are able to embrace the ephemeral nature of life and find meaning within it.
Through exploring the consciousness of her characters with depth and intensity, Woolf creates a
world in which she traces her characters thoughts and actions in relation with the world around
them. As a result, she enters her characters lives, describing their hopes, aspirations, dreams and
fears never once detaching

Investigation Of The Inquiry Process Essay
The ability to question, be curious, and inquire is hardwired into the human brain. Everyone is
born with the need and capacity to inquire. The inquiry process is open ended, explores
information, and helps gather evidence in order to construct a valid conclusion as well as to gain
knowledge. The process of inquiry is an effective way to attain necessary knowledgeand
understanding of a questionor problem. Undoubtedly, the inquiry process is a strong foundation
upon which you can begin a successful career, maintain a healthy lifestyle, gain knowledge, as well
as valuable experiences.
The most important part, and the first step, of the inquiry process is to ask questions. Asking
questions is never a negative thing to do, although you must be aware of your surroundings and
make sure the context in which you ask a question is appropriate. This step of the inquiry
process includes engineering a list of questions to help you narrow the what type of career path
you would like to pursue. Next in the inquiry process is career exploration. This step includes
conducting intensive research and examination into career choices, and determining which one
best suits you best based on the questions asked in step one. The third step in the inquiry process
is gathering evidence. You should look for relevant pieces of evidence that support why your
possible career paths are most beneficial for you, and how they assist you in reaching your career
goals. Sufficient evidence would include

Carbon Dioxide And Its Impact On Society
Everyday society evolves, new technologies and ideas are born, although life seems perfect there
are many reasons to be scared. Ever since the industrial revolution started the production of carbon
dioxide has gone up in tremendous quantities. Because of this increase in greenhouse gases the
earth has experienced drastic changes. These changes are the reason for why humanity should be
scared, humans have control of many things but weather and natural disasters are not something we
can control. On the other hand, society has taken steps to diminish the production of carbon dioxide,
although this process may take time to make a significant impact it provides humanity with a
reason to feel like our situation will improve. It is easy to feel good about these current efforts
towards resolving climate change. However, to make a serious impact on the problem, we need to
diminish our carbon dioxide footprint significantly, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

make an impact fast enough to reverse the damage already done to this planet. A perfect example
of how these steps are meaningless is that in December, nearly 200 countries met in order find an
agreement that reduces the damage being done to our planet. However, according to Margo Oge,
the former director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality of the Environmental Protection

denial and are pushing for Congress and the Senate to repeal the agreement that the 200 countries
initially pushed for. This shows that although there are people who wish to make a difference,
there is always a strong organization or corporation who will push for the repeal of any mandate

President Clinton Vs. The 104th And 105th Congress
President Clinton vs. the 104th and 105th Congress
President William Bill Clinton was the United States 42nd president. Bill Clinton was born in
Arkansas on August 19th 1946. In 1976 he was elected to become the Attorney General of
Arkansas. Two years later he became governor, becoming the youngest governor. Clinton ran for
president in 1992 with running mate Al Gore. His presidency ran from 1993 to 2001. During his
presidency the 104th ( 95 97) and the 105th ( 97 95) Congress was established and the
Republicans took over the House with 228 seats in the 104th and 226 seats in the 105th. The

His term as Speaker of the House seemed as the opposite of President Clinton. When he was speaker
there were many government and budget shutdowns, and also unpleasant impeachment
proceedings. Yet Gingrich and Clinton have agreed on welfare reform, tax cuts and budgeting deals.
Overrides and Vetoes Over the course of Clinton s presidency there have been 37 bills that have
been vetoed, although 36 were regular vetoes, one pocket veto, and two vetoes that were
overridden. The two bills that were overridden are the Private Securities Litigation Act of 1995 and
the Line Item Veto.
The Bankruptcy Act of 2000 was one of the laws that was a pocket veto. The sponsor of this act
was Representative Christopher H. Smith. The bill as asserted by the president because it was not
fair towards ordinary debtors who fell on hard times. Yet this represents a loophole for the wealthy.
Under the Homestead Exemption, bankruptcy filers can protect some of their equity in their
homes under chapter seven bankruptcy. This also implies to chapter 13 bankruptcy as well. You
can be relieved of all or most of your equity, this would decrease the minimum amount you must
pay to your creditors. In the meantime this will be easier to repay your debts.

Dosophila Larval Orn Experiment
The major conclusion from this study is that individual Drosophila larval ORN s are differentially
modulated by animal s starved state. We conclude this based on the following experimental
evidence: First, when we tested the olfactory responses of Drosophila larvae under starved
conditions, using the two choice assay (Monte, Woodard et al. 1989), (Kreher, Mathew et al. 2008)
we observed changes in RI for only three out of the seven odorants tested. This experimental result
supports previous work from Mathew et al., 2013, which demonstrated functional diversity among
individual ORNs. Starved larvae had higher attractiveness to odorants acetal, pentyl acetate and 4, 5
dimethylthiazole. Each of these odorants elicit strong and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We have observed that acetal, 2, 5 dimethylpyrazine had higher run speed and run length in case
of non starved larvae while for pentyl acetate, the starved larvae had higher run speed and run
length. As of now we cannot explain the reason for this reversed trend in the case of pentyl
acetate. However, with the trends that we have observed for acetal and 2, 5 dimethylpyrazine
we conclude that not all ORN s show similar tracking effect under starvation. Each ORN is
functionally diverse and act as functionally non equivalent units. From our results, overall, we
conclude that ORNs contribute differently to the olfactory circuit under changes in internal
states such as starvation. These results further support previous studies regarding existence of
functional individuality among neurons (Mathew, Martelli et al. 2013). Starved state of the
animal impacts olfactory behavior via GABA signaling As mentioned previously, local neurons
secrete GABA and LN s are primarily GABAergic interneurons (Ng, Roorda et al. 2002). Olfactory
receptor neurons express GABA (B) receptors (Root, Masuyama et al. 2008) and strikingly each
ORN channel has unique baseline levels of GABA (B) receptor expression in adult flies (Root et
al., 2008). When the levels of GABA (B) R1 in ORN::Or 42b and in ORN::Or 47a were decreased
we observed no effect on starvation dependent behavior

Hannah Baker s Poem
Receiving a shoebox with no return address began as an exciting surprise for Clay. Filled with
questions and excitement, he rushed to open it. Did they just forget to write a return address? Was
it intentional? Was it from a secret admirer? In the box, Clay finds seven audiotapes each with a
dark blue number painted in the upper right hand corner. He does not hesitate to grab an old stereo
and slide the first tapein. When he hears Hannah s voice, he realizes listening to the tapes will not
be as easy as pressing play had been. Here was Hannah Baker whom he claims he barely knew
blaming him for her death...

They are never direct or intentional antagonists. The entire purpose of Hannah s tape is to fight
the antagonistic control that life seems to have on everyone. She speaks about the control that
rumors had over her life, and if people had been more thoughtful about their actions, she would
have ended up somewhere else entirely. The power of one s choices, of course, can be
beneficial, but in the case of Hannah, it played the antagonist. Being trapped in the choices
others have made, Hannah feels the need for the world to collapse around her, as Clay notes
(261). This is the only way Hannah can find to free herself from the cage that others built around
her; to gain control once again, Hannah takes the power of choice for herself. The decision to kill
herself is hers and only hers, but it cannot be denied that the decisions people make have the
power to become the villain of a story caging people and driving them towards

Biological Explanations Of Crime Essay
In today s society, there is a surprising amount of criminal research done by sociologists but most
of our explanations can be better explained by biological and psychological approaches. Why does
crime exist in all cultures? No matter where you go or visit you can be sure that there is crime
occurring. Its important to remember that there are quite a few explanations for the causation of
crime, but I will do my best to include them all. Let s begin by examining the biological
explanations of crime. I will only be going over the modern biological perspectives on crime and
not talk to much about studies that lacked proof, but there will be some theories that have been
around for a while. The biological explanation of crime is built on the

Mental Illness Is A Serious Growing Issue
Introduction Mental illness is a serious growing issue, not only in the United States, but also around
the world. It is estimated approximately forty three million Americans suffer from a mental illness.
The concerning issue however, is that the forty three million estimated only represent those who
have sought diagnosis. Therefore, there may still be a large number of individuals who remain
undiagnosed (National Institute of Health, 2013). Although treatment may keep a disorder under
control to a certain extent, many psychological disorders cannot be cured and often persist
throughout a person s lifetime. Thus the goal of treatment is to help an individual live a healthy
more normal lifestyle. In order to develop additional medical treatment specifically medication in
addition to psychotherapy the multiple disorders need to be further researched. Of the treatment
that does exist, many people suffering from psychological disorders do not receive treatment at all;
in fact, almost half of all diagnosed patients do not seek treatment (National Institute of Health,
2013). The ongoing research on the mechanisms behind most mental illnesses continues and
although much progress has been made, there is still a large gap of missing knowledge that remains
unknown. There are many common mental disorders that affect tens of millions of Americans
every year. However, there are several mental disorders that are more commonly seen in recent
times among adolescents including

My Summer Camp Experience
This Summer, I had the best time of my life. I learned some valuable lessons, I made some
friends, and I had so much fun. Even if I didn t know it. This is the story of my summer camp
experience.About two months earlier had signed up for a Camp in Indiana called YMCA Camp
Potawotami. My neighbor who is a year younger than me went to camp with me. We got to our
summer camp on the Sunday before. I had a lot of fun, but my part of this event, is when the girls
in my cabin and I became true friends.
We walked back from swim time and going onto the walk to our cabin. Our cabin was one of the
older cabins, but it was nice. The building was a Wooden log building with two main hallways,
one for the boys and one for the girls, which both came together in a main room that had one huge
window wall, in the middle, and two other walls on the side that had one huge window in the
middle.
Ok girls, pack up your stuff for camping, but remember we re only going for one night. Our
councilor ,Greer, told us. So we packed our stuff in bags and went to set up our tents.
We walked about half a mile up a grassy path with woods to the left, and a field of wheat to the
right. We came to a clearing that was in the shape of a circle. With it, were two tents packed up
in their tiny little bags in the middle of a circle, along with a fire pit, and a picnic table. Ok, we
need everyone to help set up, no one should be doing nothing. Kylie exclaimed, who was our
second councilor After about 20

Storing Waste In Yucca Mountain Analysis
Today we re are going to talk about pretty much the same I did in Storing Waste in Yucca
Mountain but instead It s to be Hanford Washington. We re going to talk about What site i think
is the best, the 4 pieces of evidences that support this, either one or two trade offs, then the
Comparison between Hanford Washington and Yucca Mountain.I think the site that is the best is
Hanford washington, although it is a bit average with the uses, i still rate it the best. Some pieces
of evidence that supports this is the temperature is safe to store nuclear waste, the average annual
rainfall is 8 inches, Hanford isn t close to volcanoes, and etc. I don t have to explain the good
reasons because I already explained those but anyway Some bad reasons... Show more content on

So i m going to do the same thing, i m gonna explain the reasons(or as I use to call them uses) and
then the bad reasons. Yucca Mountain may be a proper place to store nuclear waste since it has
a very low population, it is very remote, it s closest city being Las Vegas which is 100 miles
away. Evidence suggests that the last time a very destructive earthquake (6.5 on the richter
scale) occurred in the Yucca Mountain area that was 50,000 years ago so there is a minimal
threat of earthquakes happening. Even with no population, an earthquake might spread the
nuclear waste around or into the atmosphere. Another reason for considering Yucca Mountain is
that the earth material in this region tends to absorb contaminants. This could stop waste from
spreading in the event of leakage from the waste containers. Now for the bad uses, To reach
Yucca Mountain it would take nuclear waste to travel 43 states by truck to reach Yucca
mountain. Las Vegas has about 500,000 people and it s 100 miles away from Yucca mountain so
it is still in relative proximity to the city and why residents are against storage of nuclear waste
there. Nevada is in fourth place of the highest earthquakes. An extinct volcano s eruptions formed
Yucca mountain, although 27 miles away from Yucca mountain are more volcanos (7 are stable).
In a bad situation, the volcano could re awaken spreading waste around. I hoped you noticed i
explained this the same way I did In Storing Waste On Yucca Mountain . Now before I Conclude
this I want to compare one more thing, I want to tell you the lower amount of rainfall in the site in
Yucca Mountain compared to Hanford, Washington and the one in Texas. The lower amount is
important because there would be less chance of the containers becoming damaged and leaking

To Obey or Disobey
Obedience is an age old expectation that rulers, priests, and government officials have required
for years from their subjects. Most of the time individuals follow their leaders without question.
This is the case because the population from which obedience is required believes that they
continue to have a choice. When, for whatever reason this belief is lost, some individuals will
begin to exhibit an increasing disobedience to the requirement. This often increases to the point of
violence or, the case of a country, war. While there are all types of disobedience, this paper will
discuss civil disobedience and the social pressure often associated with it.
A good example of this type of cycle can be found in the historical background ... Show more

Universities over time have done a lot of research trying to understand why people obey and
disobey. Most people believe they are good and trustworthy. These individuals feel no matter
what occurs they will always try to do the right thing in their day to day life. In The Perils of
Obedience, Milgram tells of a woman that the last shock she administered to the learner was
extremely painful and reiterates that she did not want to be responsible for any harm to him .
(695). Despite her desires she still administered the shock, thus being obedient to the person in
charge and not to what she believed. Individuals who still believe in the concept called into
question by the disobedient group, often feel intense pressure to maintain loyalty to the old ruling
entity. In Doris Lessing s article, Group Minds, she states But the majority will continue to insist
speaking metaphorically that black is white, and after a period of exasperation, irritation, even
anger, certainly incomprehension, the minority will fall into line .(724) Pressure to conform can
manifest itself in another way as well.. Individuals may feel compelled to follow the ideas and
rules of someone else and follow that group of people no matter what path it my lead them down
or where those ideas and rules may take them. Social pressure comes from everywhere; family,
church, friends, jobs, co workers, and etc.. During the

  • 2. Weaker Yen Essay I. Introduction Japan s exports rate last month at the fastest annual rate in more than two years. The weaker yen also boosted the energy heavy import bill, although the rose 10 per cent from a year earlier, economists said the net effect of the yen s retreat remained positive, because higher export revenues translate into higher exporter earnings and consequently more investment and worker s bonuses. Japan s stock market is heavy on exporting, The Prime Minister Abe s government also hopes that the export windfall will shore up general business and consumer confidence. This is way to aim to pull Japan out of its liquidity trap and end nearly two decades of economic stagnation and deflation. This essay will discuss about background and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... III. Objectives and Effects of Weaker Yen The Prime Minister Abe tried to make lower currency of Yen with two strategies. First strategy is Printing Money and second strategy is Buying Yen from other countries . Both of strategies increase supply of JPY. [pic] Weaker Yen sounds like loss of Japan. Actually, it brings a lot of benefits to Japan. There are many effects from weaker Yen. 3.1 Growth of Export Companies Japan s fiscal policy is demand pull for international consumers and Cost Push for domestic consumers. DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) thinks that cost push inflation will increase the cost of goods and services however, having demand pull is more important. It means growing demand will pull the economy into stability (J. Metcalfe, May 2013). Lower value Yen is same as income for household. It means an international consumer is able to buy Japanese products in lower cost. [pic] In Figure 3.1, previous currency of Yen was Y0 and after weaker Y1, it turned as income for international consumers. Thus, aggregate demand for Japanese products. Increased exporting will activate economy of Japan and there will be Inflationary gap between Y0 and Y1. It is enough to stimulate to recover Japanese economy. The Minister Abe thought weaker Yen will bring increase of export and demand for domestic products and services and it is true. The exporting rate of Japanese ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Social Life Over My Academic Life While growing up, doing well in school always came naturally to me. I took every Advanced Placement class my high school offered and still graduated with a 3.85 GPA. Unfortunately, after high school, I learned that my methods in high school no longer worked as well in college. In 2007, I enrolled at Augustana Collegein Sioux Falls, SD. Augustana is a small, private university, and I learned plenty of academic, as well as life, lessons while attending. My grades at Augustana dropped slightly at first compared to what they were in high school. I finally realized that studying would be necessary; however I allowed myself to fall into the same trap as many other new students, and I chose to prioritize my social life over my academic life. After five semesters at Augustana, I realized two things. First of all, I decided I would need to fix my priorities, and, second, I figured out how expensive that private school actually was. Plagued by the idea that I had already ruined my life with my decision thus far, my thoughts careened out of control. Immediately following the winter semester of 2009, I transferred to Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. I had hoped a new start would help, but as time went on, the thoughts worsened (with additional causes supplementing the previous reasons). Alcohol became more than just a social lubricant. Though alcohol kept me going for a long time, my grades suffered. During this time I proposed to my wife, who would have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Continued moves to offshore locations are causing many consumers to look twice at companies that use this tactic for an increased market share (Stones, 2003). The final issue identified is the possibility of litigation by the Union officials. Opportunity Identification There are many opportunities for Global Communications in moving forward with its plan of action. The first opportunity is the possibility of increased technical sophistication by partnering with a satellite provider to offer video services and a satellite version of Broadband. This in turn will allow GC the opportunity to increased market share. By providing the consumer with a more diverse product to choose from, GC will be able to gain a competitive edge in the market and garner new customers in the process. Another opportunity found is the chance to cut unit cost by outsourcing the call center to India or Ireland. This move will allow GC the chance to become a key player in the global arena. It will also provide GC with a labor force that is technically advanced to meet the needs of a growing market at a lower price (Rossheim, 2006). The combination of all of these opportunities will provide GC with the much needed profitability capabilities to sustain its operations for the next three years as well as produce a higher yield for stockholders. • 5. The Searchers Narrative Structure Essay From Boy to Man: The Searchers Through the Eyes of Martin Pawley The narrative structure of John Ford s The Searchers is centered primarily around the actions and knowledge of men. Throughout the movie, men are the figures of action, they are out scouring the land for lost loved ones while the women stay home and wait with hope. In The Searchers, just as with any search, the limiting factor involved is knowledge. Ethan, the main character, begins the movie as the leader of the searchers. His assumed role as leader is due to his past excursions as a Texas Ranger. These past experiences enable Ethan to lead most effectively because they provide him with knowledge. Ethan has the knowledge to survive on the frontier, but most importantly his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the first battle with the Native Americans, the crew is broken up due to Clayton taking a wounded man home. Ethan is prepared to drive on by himself, fueled by his racism, but Brad and Marty show their true colors and bravery, stepping up to accompany Ethan. Marty s willingness to risk his life to avenge his family s death signifies his transition to manhood. It also portrays the morals and ideals of 19th century western America. Although Marty is part Cherokee, he portrays the very American value of fighting in the name of what you believe in and what you love: freedom and family. John Ford uses Marty s Native American heritage along with his strong morals to contrastthe foundation of Ethan s racism, thus undermining racism in general. In the film, Ethan first appears as a strong American soldier while Marty is tainted with Indian blood. Upon further evaluation, it is clear that Ethan is a lost soul with no true friends or loving family. Ford uses Ethan s status as a social outcast to exemplify that being driven by racism leads to a lonely, unfulfilling life. Marty s relationship with Laurie proves to be important in the development of Marty s character. It gives Ford a medium to present Marty as the narrator. Ford uses letters from Marty to Laurie as a means of fast forwarding through the years of the hunt while still keeping the viewer updated on Marty and Ethan s progress. After this point, in addition to more letters to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Equipment Review of the Vertec and Bertec Equipment Review The equipment in this study includes a Vertec vertical jump measuring system (Figure 1) and a Bertec force plate (Figure 2). The Vertec vertical jump measuring system measures individuals vertical jump capabilities in inches. The Bertec force plate measures the ground reaction forces in newtons produced when an individual performs a jump and when they land following a jump. The Vertec vertical jump measuring system is constructed out of a steel frame and has horizontal vanes that rotate when the hand touches them. The vanes spaced half inch between and the height of the vanes is adjustable from 6 feet to 12 feet tall. The Vertec vertical jump measuring system is considered the gold standard for measuring vertical jump height and its measurements have been found reliable.1 The Bertec force plate is a much more complicated device. It uses strain gauges to measure the force applied to the force plate. The force applied to the plate by the subject will be equal to the forces the plate applies to the subject as determined by Newton s third law. When the strain gauge is compressed the resistance of the current running through the gauge decreases however when the strain gauge is placed under tension the resistance of the current traveling through it increases. The Bertec force plate measures forces applied to the device in the x, y and z axis using strain gauges. The strain gauges produce signals when force is applied to the force plate surface, which are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Wrong Direction Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said. For instance, Islamwas started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with Godand became a prophet. Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however, when Mohammed came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion: Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die, based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for forgiveness and didn t commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person disobeyed the Christian rules, that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific element of religion is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for Christians, and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will ask a favor of God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please God, help me lose weight . This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is simply testing one s faith. I would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. How Technology Has Changed The Environment In the last decade, society has become increasingly worried about the impact that humans have on the environment. Many people believe that climate change is actively going to change the way how people live in the future. In response to the public concern, many companies are searching for greener methods of energy output. Instead of coal and gasoline, corporations are becoming more socially responsible in their actions. For example, long standing establishments like Walmart has installed LED lighting in all of their stores to cut down on energy consumption and more restaurants are switching to locally sourced and organic ingredients. With these strategies and many more discussed in the document Tesla looks to reform the entire automotive industry by keeping up high innovation and safety features in their cars. Company Overview For decades, the American car industry was extremely consolidated and large companies such as Ford and GM. The large car companies have a vast number of assets and could squash any competitor that tried to enter due to the high barrier to entry of the car industry. Even though these companies had immense numbers of resources, they still had trouble finding viable fuel sources besides gas. In 2003, a couple of engineers out of Silicon Valley had an idea that would revolutionize the car industry by finding a radical new way to power the traditional automobile (About Tesla, 2016). In Silicon Valley, two experienced engineers, Mark Eberhard and Marc Tappening wanted to build a more efficient automobile. The two found this small company out in California called AC Propulsion that created a car named the tzero. The car had a motor that could go 0 60 in 4 seconds and felt like a sports car. Both were intrigued with the extraordinary technology found in the tzero and decided to figure out why it was not main stream. Through a little research, they discovered that GM tried to manufacture an electric automobile named the EV 1, but failed miserably due to marketing troubles. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Can Presidential Systems Work Effectively Within Deeply... Name: Amanda Raizis ID: 300306546 Tutor: Tim Webster Tutorial Time: Thursday 11.00 11.50pm Can presidential systems work effectively in deeply divided societies? [Make reference to at least two cases of your choosing.] Thesis Statement Presidentialism is a system of government in which the president is elected both chief executives and as head of government (Ogelsby SuГЎrez, 1968) and is the main system of democratic government apart from parliamentary systems. Presidential systems tend to centralise priorities of the government to stabilise society. Normally, they are classed into separate regions of power; where the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government are dependent on one another and cannot work effectively in deeply divided societies. This argument is ruled by the fact that they are 1) divisive, causing isolation between ethnoreligious groups. Elites are prioritised over minority working class groups and 2) inherently majoritarian, as only a single position is given causing proportionality to become impossible. In places such as Latin America and Northern Ireland, we see the ways in which these theories have proven ineffectiveness. However, presidential systems aim to separate powers in order to protect citizens rights and deter abuse of power for good governance overall. Through this presidential systems, however, have quick decisiveness in resolving societal issues. Without effective separation; executive, legislative and judicial powers, ... • 11. Social Media And Its Impact On Society For many of us, social media has become an important way to keep up with what is going on with our families as well as what is happening in the world around us. In the past ten years, social media has also become a major staple in marketing for businesses because there has been a whirlwind of development. In 2006, Facebook was opened to the public and Twitter was launched. Not long after, Facebook surpassed MySpaces user count and Barack Obamabecame out first Social Media President. In 2010, Twitter launched the ability to postsponsored tweets, with Instagram following in 2013. We often view social media as just a place to do social networking, but for businesses it is a much different animal. Facebook became an avenue for new user engagement tactics by companies looking to expand their customer base. (What We Learned About Marketing in the Last Decade of Social Media Evolution , n.d) Marketing is key to any business s success. With the greater use of mobile technology (cell phones and tablets), businesses had to be able to adapt their advertising to display on mobile devices. While anyone can use social media in relation to their business, there is a certain protocol that should be followed. Businesses should not limit themselves to posting promotional content only. This can lead to the downfall of their social media presence. Consumers want engagement that goes beyond promotional information. Another important aspect of successful social media engagement is posting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With factors such as organized crimes, tensions rise, amongst other things gets Henry further involved in the drug trade. Henry temperament changes and he comes edgy, frantic, and unpredictable. Henry becomes overwhelmed and realizes his erratic behavior has made him a target with some associates. Henry then enters a Witness Protection Program, freeing himself of the crime family he always wanted to be a part of and also taking part of capturing ones who he referred to as family. Goodfellas exposed both the luxury and the harsh reality of being in the gangster lifestyle. Director Martin Scorsese didn t want to follow a traditional narrative structure but instead present it episode by episode. He wanted to start in the middle and move backwards and forwards to depict Henry s conflicted lifestyle of being part of the mob. First, I believe the father left because the way Jesse expresses his emotions makes me infer that his father can still return, but it s a little uncomfortable to go back to a familythat he left. In the poem, Hey Daddy(Please Come Back) By Jesse Debenport, Jesse states with strong desire, I ll try and set aside at least one day a week... So we can hop in the truck and go four wheeling. This shows me that Jesse s father is still alive because a dead father can t go four wheeling anywhere. This also tells me that his father can still come back, if they can still go four wheeling together. So the starting cell population is heterogeneous comprising progenitors and committed fibroblasts that are less efficacious. By immunoselecting clonogenic MSCs with specific surface markers by flow cytometry or magnetic bead sorting, a homogeneous population of starting cells can be obtained (Lv et al., 2014). As mentioned in section 1.1.1. MSCs are a rare population of cells in tissues, accounting for 1 4% of cells which decrease with increasing age (Stolzing et al., 2008). Studies have shown that the survival rate was significantly less in patients treated with late passage MSCs compared to early passage MSCs (von Bahr et al., 2012). Heterogeneity and senescence decrease efficiency of culture expanded MSCs with reduced and/or variable clinical outcome as has been the experience to date with bmMSCs (von Bahr et al., 2012, Prockop et al., 2014). Uncultured transgenic MSCs injected into irradiated mice showed 55 65% recovery from bone marrow which decreased to 10% and 0% after only 24 hours and 48 hours of culture respectively, showing both the homing capacity of bmMSCs and the shortness of their survival in vivo on intravenous infusion (Rombouts and Ploemacher, 2003). The authors also suggested that cell cycle stage of bmMSCs at the time of transplantation may be a factor influencing survival, whereby the primary quiescent MSCs in G0 phase of cell cycle survive longer, while the cultured cells are G1 or later stage of the cells cycle have limited survival (Rombouts and Ploemacher, 2003). The homing ability of MSCs decreases significantly if they have been pre cultured (Sohni and Verfaillie, 2013). This shows that culture conditions likely modified the homing receptors for chemokines. The MSC markers CD73, CD90 and CD105 appear to be expressed consistently regardless of the culture environment, passage stage or the functional ability of MSCs (Maumus et al., 2011, Lo Surdo et al., ... • 16. Russian Gulag Essay The Gulags of the Soviet Union have been compared to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, but in reality they were worse. The Gulags were isolated prison camps peppered across Siberia. Death, torture, and disease raged within their walls, while endless work went on outside. Gulag personnel were cruel and unfeeling, using terrible punishment methods and playing senseless games that cost prisoners their lives. Political enemies of the Bolshevik party made up a significant portion of the prisoner population, with most sent to the infamous camp system Kolyma. • 37. Nt1310 Unit 1 Data Storage System Equation ref{e.cost2} depends on distribution of the data as well. Let $T_{cap}$ be the total capacity of disk in a node and $T_{used}$ be the total used space. Therefore the ideal storage on each volume/disk should be $I_{storage} = T_{cap} / T_{used}$. The volume of data density is difference between ideal storage and current DFS used ratio, in other words volume data density for one node is $DD_{volume} = I_{storage} dfsUsedRatio$, where $DD_{volume}$ is volume of data density. A positive value of $DD_{volume}$ indicates that disk is under utilized and a negative indicates that disk is over utilized. Now the we can calculate data distribution around the data center. This is done by computing nodes with maximum skew from $I_{storage}$ values, for that we sum all the absolute values of $DD_{volume}$. The node data density is calculated as: $node_{DD}= sum_{d_{i}epsilon DD_{volume}(I)} left | d_{i} right |$ cite{jiraissue1312}, where $node_{DD}$ is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 38. My Middle School Experience Something weird was going on. The other kids looked at me and quirked their eyebrows. It was the first day of middle school. I didn t know any of the other kids. After class, one of them came up to me and asked Are you Jewish? People used to ask me that all the time. After a definite no from me, they would follow with Then why do you go to a Jewish school? There is an underlying assumption you don t go to Tehiyah if you weren t Jewish. It makes sense, I suppose. At first, I didn t think much of it. It s nothing but harmless curiosity, I thought. I was what people called an ABC , an American born Chinese. Both of my parents were immigrants from China. I didn t have a drop of Jewish blood, nor did I look Jewish at all. Everyone else was Jewish; it was only natural to ask. But they didn t stop. After two years, people still asked. I never had an answer for them. I began to ask myself: Why do I go here? Do I belong here? My middle school experience brings back mixed emotions. I loved it for the most part. Being in the Bay Area, no one cared what I looked like or where my parents came from. Still, I often felt lonely surrounded by my white Jewish classmates. One particular moment comes to mind: sixth grade Judaic Studies class was ending. We had class in a prayer room called the Beth Midrash. Inside, multiple rows of pews faced the ark at the front where the school s precious Torah laid. The room always smelled nice because it was right next to the school kitchen. You ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Analysis Of The Poem The Lighthouse Safiya Rasheed Mrs. Derrow AP English III February 15, 2015 The Meaning of Life in Woolf s To the Lighthouse Life, when viewed as a compilation of fleeting memories and moments, seems chaotic, miserable and causes one to question the purpose of it. Each of the characters of To the Lighthouse struggle with this same realization and all strive to find permanence and meaning within their lives. While the characters search for the meaning of life within their realms of experience, ultimately they all fail to find lasting meaning. To the Lighthouse, a novel structured by Woolf as deeply involved in the consciousness of the characters, their perception of meaning in the world, and the ephemeral nature of life, ultimately suggests that although the goal of finding meaning in life is unattainable, it is the struggle for balance and meaning that achieves purpose and self contentment. Throughout the novel, the lighthouse symbolizes the ultimate destination, as it represents the moment the characters find the true meaning of life. Once the characters complete the journey to the lighthouse they are able to embrace the ephemeral nature of life and find meaning within it. Through exploring the consciousness of her characters with depth and intensity, Woolf creates a world in which she traces her characters thoughts and actions in relation with the world around them. As a result, she enters her characters lives, describing their hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears never once detaching ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most important part, and the first step, of the inquiry process is to ask questions. Asking questions is never a negative thing to do, although you must be aware of your surroundings and make sure the context in which you ask a question is appropriate. This step of the inquiry process includes engineering a list of questions to help you narrow the what type of career path you would like to pursue. Next in the inquiry process is career exploration. This step includes conducting intensive research and examination into career choices, and determining which one best suits you best based on the questions asked in step one. We have observed that acetal, 2, 5 dimethylpyrazine had higher run speed and run length in case of non starved larvae while for pentyl acetate, the starved larvae had higher run speed and run length. As of now we cannot explain the reason for this reversed trend in the case of pentyl acetate. However, with the trends that we have observed for acetal and 2, 5 dimethylpyrazine we conclude that not all ORN s show similar tracking effect under starvation. Each ORN is functionally diverse and act as functionally non equivalent units. From our results, overall, we conclude that ORNs contribute differently to the olfactory circuit under changes in internal states such as starvation. These results further support previous studies regarding existence of functional individuality among neurons (Mathew, Martelli et al. 2013). Starved state of the animal impacts olfactory behavior via GABA signaling As mentioned previously, local neurons secrete GABA and LN s are primarily GABAergic interneurons (Ng, Roorda et al. 2002). It is estimated approximately forty three million Americans suffer from a mental illness. The concerning issue however, is that the forty three million estimated only represent those who have sought diagnosis. Therefore, there may still be a large number of individuals who remain undiagnosed (National Institute of Health, 2013). Although treatment may keep a disorder under control to a certain extent, many psychological disorders cannot be cured and often persist throughout a person s lifetime. Thus the goal of treatment is to help an individual live a healthy more normal lifestyle. In order to develop additional medical treatment specifically medication in addition to psychotherapy the multiple disorders need to be further researched. Of the treatment that does exist, many people suffering from psychological disorders do not receive treatment at all; in fact, almost half of all diagnosed patients do not seek treatment (National Institute of Health, 2013). The ongoing research on the mechanisms behind most mental illnesses continues and although much progress has been made, there is still a large gap of missing knowledge that remains unknown. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So i m going to do the same thing, i m gonna explain the reasons(or as I use to call them uses) and then the bad reasons. Yucca Mountain may be a proper place to store nuclear waste since it has a very low population, it is very remote, it s closest city being Las Vegas which is 100 miles away. Evidence suggests that the last time a very destructive earthquake (6.5 on the richter scale) occurred in the Yucca Mountain area that was 50,000 years ago so there is a minimal threat of earthquakes happening. Even with no population, an earthquake might spread the nuclear waste around or into the atmosphere. Another reason for considering Yucca Mountain is that the earth material in this region tends to absorb contaminants. This could stop waste from spreading in the event of leakage from the waste containers. Now for the bad uses, To reach Yucca Mountain it would take nuclear waste to travel 43 states by truck to reach Yucca mountain. Las Vegas has about 500,000 people and it s 100 miles away from Yucca mountain so it is still in relative proximity to the city and why residents are against storage of nuclear waste there. Nevada is in fourth place of the highest earthquakes. An extinct volcano s eruptions formed Yucca mountain, although 27 miles away from Yucca mountain are more volcanos (7 are stable). In a bad situation, the volcano could re awaken spreading waste around. I hoped you noticed i explained this the same way I did In Storing Waste On Yucca Mountain .
