8e 8f). Tidal forcing was likely the major factor to control the diurnal variation in
salinity and water level in both the seasons (Figure 8c 8d). Moreover, moderate
winds could have affected salinity and water level above the tidal height either by
pushing riverwater towards the bay or by introducing shelf water into the bay (e.g.

The poem begins with a forlorn and heartbroken narrator suffering from both

He was all alone and the his expectations of the romance was shattered. It then
dawned that his suffering disappointment stemmed from the realization that she never
really loved him the way he thought she did. At this point the knight is lonely and
hopeless, but he does not show anger towards her. This shows his understanding that
in love there is despair. Even though the love he feels for her is pure and true, she
did not have the same feelings.
The only clues in La Bella Dame sans Merci that depicts whether or not the love
felt by the maiden towards the knight is true, comes from the dreams of the knight
when he was sleeping. In his dream he comes to the realization that the maiden is
pitiless and she has no mercy. His dreams can be interpreted as if the knight
subconsciously knew that the love wasn t real and that the maiden had already left
him, and his mind has already started shifting the blame towards her. This mentally
prepares the knight for the harsh reality that he has to face as he awakes. The
dream might just be his rationalization; a way of making her out to be evil in order
to cope with the pain of learning his love is unrequited, and in love there is despair.
Despair is the state of having lost all hope, of finding oneself unable to believe life
will ever be good again. The knight in La Belle Dame sans Merci falls into despair

The purpose of this article was to explore the experiences of first sessions of families
who have children with intellectual disabilities using solution focused brief therapy
(SFBT). The participants consisted of mothers who were interviewed two weeks after
the initial session. The SFBT session was a stand alone session that was designed to
assess the usefulness of the initial session. The mothers were asked to complete the
Helpful Aspects of Therapy Questionnaire after the end of the session. Participants
listened to excerpts from their therapeutic sessions that they identified as helpful or
unhelpful while completing the questionnaire. The families that participated had used
psychological services before hand in the form of special education, social, and
health services.
Through the interventions there were three major themes that were identified; SFBT
introduced making the best of it , exploration of wishful thinking, and the efficacy of
the therapeutic relationship. What the authors mean by making the best it is the idea

Over the course of this class I have learned many things about writing that I did not
know before, because I never had any great instruction before i came to college. In
Grade school and high school, when I got back a graded paper there would just be
words crossed out, or punctuation corrections. There would never be any
explanation as to why I need to correct this, or why this is wrong. I would go over
the corrections and wonder how this is wrong and why does a comma go there but
why doesn t a comma go here. When reading the corrections and notes you made on
each of my papers this year, I more easily understood why something was wrong. I
might not have made the same corrections in the next paper, but each paper I got
back I understood what was wrong, and what I needed to do to correct it. I think I
understood more about writingwith each paper that I wrote this year. I might not
have shown it with each paper because I seem to always make the same errors. I
always get mixed up when using singular and plural nouns, using the same

Firstly, the state and federal legislative branches have several areas where they
differ although the function is the same. The bicameral Texas legislature consists
of 150 house and 31 senate members under the constitution with residential, age,
citizenry and serving restrictionВ¬В¬ generally members are Protestant and have a
good education background. Members in the Texas legislature are not well paid,
unlike members of the federal legislative branch. Another difference between the
Texas and national legislature is that Texas only holds biennial and regular

No one possesses a magic wand which the architects of the new dispensation could
wave and, Hey presto! things will be transformed overnight into a promised land
flowing with milk and honey (Tutu 3). After the apartheid, South Africa needed a
way to reconcile the wrong that had taken place throughout the country. Instead of
modeling the Nuremberg Trials from World War II, South Africa
implemented Truth
and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC). This process guarantees pardon for any
confess crime associated with a political objective (Ruden 2). Desmond Tutu, the
archbishop of the Anglican Church in South Africa, praises and advocates the TRC;
whereas, Sarah Ruden, an American living in South Africa, criticizes the RTC
process based on two main objective points. Ruden sees the RTC process as not
enforcing the laws as well as not giving victims enough reparations. While Ruden
does present logistical evidence in her negative assessment of the TRC process, Tutu
presents a more convincing assessment of the TRC process since he disputes using a
trial system, while also explaining why economically and socially the TRC process
was a successful solution to the post apartheid society in South Africa.

Frantz Fanon s The Fact of Blackness, a chapter from Black Skin, White Masks
describes the anxiety felt while held in the gaze of the colonizer. A reading of Judith
Butler s Gender Trouble in conjunction with Fanon s work raises questions and
possible strategies on how to reject neocolonialism and contemporary white
supremacy. Fanon s idea of blackness is performative but not for the gain of the
black man, rather for the white man. Butler suggests that regaining control of the
black man s fate comes from interpellation, the act, of interrupting the white man s
claims or ideas, or rather their misconceptions of the black man. A way of
disregarding the white man s claims is a form of rejecting that normativity, similar to
Butler s analysis of drag where one rejects normativity altogether. The black man s
lack of interpellation enhances the white man s performativity furthering white
supremacy; a way of rejecting neocolonialism that disregards societal norms.
Performative utterances do not describe but perform the action they designate (Culler
96), and the repetitive assertions from the white man placed upon the black man

By 1984 Rock and Roll music was going through a changing phase. From break
ups, tragic deaths due to drugs and dangerous lifestyles, unnecessarily long and
obnoxious solo performances, and overly loud and unnecessary amps that almost
sounded like they were going all the way to 11 instead of 10. It seemed that Rock
and Roll was dying out or becoming oversaturated as a musical genre. It is in this
environment that the movie This is Spinal Tap bases itself in.
This is Spinal Tap is a 1984 mock documentary or mockumentary about a fictitious
band named Spinal Tap. The movie is told from the interviewing perspective of
director Rob Reiner as he interviews and follows the British band for their United
States concert tour for their new album, Smell My Glove . Throughout the film and
tour, almost everything seems to be going wrong for the band. From drops in concert
attendance, issues releasing their album cover due to controversial imagery, sudden
changes in management, and the general childish behaviour of the band holding them
back.
The film pokes fun at the many real life rock stars and bands that existed at the

assessment of those schools. Although respondents continued to desire improvement,

Problems facing the public schools. The general satisfaction with the public
schools should not cause one to lose sight of the fact that the public wants those
schools improved. It would be logical for such improvement to focus on areas in

the area which shows lack of discipline. Other points of either drug abuse, lack of

discipline is identified as the top problem. Fighting/violence/gangs follows at high on
