It Revolution Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the IT revolution is undoubtedly a challenging endeavor. The
subject is vast and ever-evolving, requiring a deep understanding of technological advancements,
historical context, and the societal impact of information technology. As a writer, you must
navigate through a sea of information, staying updated on the latest developments, and carefully
selecting relevant and impactful details to include in your essay.
The complexity lies in presenting a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of the IT
revolution while maintaining a balance between technical details and broader implications. The
pace at which technology evolves adds an additional layer of difficulty, as what might be
groundbreaking today could become obsolete tomorrow. Striking the right balance between
depth and accessibility is crucial to engage a diverse audience, considering that readers may
range from tech enthusiasts to those with limited technical backgrounds.
Moreover, the essay must not merely chronicle the chronological progression of IT; it should
delve into the transformative effects on various aspects of society, economy, and culture. This
requires a nuanced understanding of the interconnectedness of technology and human life.
Research is a key element in overcoming these challenges. Staying abreast of scholarly articles,
industry reports, and historical analyses is essential. The ability to synthesize information from
various sources and present a well-reasoned argument adds another layer of complexity.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the IT revolution demands not only a mastery of the subject
matter but also the skill to communicate complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner. It is a
task that requires dedication, research, and a keen understanding of both technology and its
broader societal impact.

Pacific Salmon Species Change
In this paper I will examine two diverse articles in an attempt to understand species
specific response to change. The first article focuses on species change from a
broader point of view, looking at feeding ecology and trophic dynamics in a variety
of Pacific salmon species. The second article presents a more in depth analysis,
researching the thermal tolerance of Sockeye Salmon specifically. Kaeriyama et al.
studied the effects of climate events on Pacific salmon species in the offshore waters
of the central Gulf of Alaska during the early summers of 1994 2000. They based
their study on analyses of stomach contents, and carbon and nitrogen isotope
concentrations. In all species except Chum Salmon, Gonatid squid was the dominant
prey. During

What Makes RNA Similar To DNA
RNA is very similar to DNA. It resembles a long chain with the links in the chain
made up of individual nucleotides. The nucleotides in RNA also similar to DNA
that made up of three components, which are a sugar, phosphate group, and a
nitrogen base. The sugar in RNA is ribose instead of the more stable deoxyribose in
DNA, which helps to make RNAmore flexible and less durable. In RNA, the bases
also come in four chemical forms, and the information in RNA is encoded in the
sequence in which these bases are arrange. The nitrogen bases in RNA include
Adenine (A), Cytosine (C), and Guanine (G), but RNA has Uracil (U) instead of
Thymine (T) in DNA. Cells make RNA messages in a process similar to the
replication of DNA. The DNA strands are pulled
Comparing King John And The Magna Carta
: English rulers that clashed with nobles and the Church tried to raise taxes or impose
royal authority. With these struggles, the evolved traditions of government formed
that would have great influence on the modern world. A clever, cruel, and
untrustworthy ruler, King John, had three powerful enemies: King Philip II of
France, PopeInnocent III, and his own English nobles. When John suffered a setback
by losing a war with Philip II, he had to give up lands in Anjou and Normandy. Then
he fought with Innocent III over selecting a new archbishop of Canterbury. The pope
excommunicated him when John rejected the pope s nominee as well as placing
Englandunder the interdict the papal order that forbade Church services in an
entire kingdom. To save himself as well as his crown, John had to accept England as
a fief of the papacy and pay a yearly fee to Rome.... Show more content on

In 1215, a group of barons concerned John and forced him to sign the Magna Carta
which was a great charter. The two very important ideas that would shape English
government in the future comprised this document. First, it asserted that the nobles
had certain rights. With time, the rights were extended to all English citizens.
Second, the Magna Carta made it clear that the monarch must obey the law. The
barons included provisions that recognized the legal rights of townspeople and the
Church as well as protecting their own
Power Of Power In Macbeth
Davis do not necessarily read this scene as a birth sequence, but almost always reads
it as an indication of Macbeths powerlessness in the face of the witches fate
controlling spells. This perceived power I imbalance has led critics to lament the un
Shakespearean nature of the dramatic tensions in wellness film; rather than depict
Macbethas a complex character, who struggles with his conscience .
William Shakespeare Macbeth shows many different types of power throughout
the play during different scenes, such as supernatural power, domestic power. The
witches show a strong power over Macbeth in not a physical way to force him to be
there slaves yet through creating false images and roles for Macbeth to feed off to
believe he will be brought great power such as becoming king.
All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!
Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none.
So all hail, Macbeth and Banquo! (1.3.53;70 71)
Macbeth has been shown to been drawn into what the witches say and becomes
independent on their theorys, the quote above is used to persway Macbeth to have
think he is he going to become king. Macbeth becomes consumed with doing
whatever it takes to keep his place in line for the grown. Macbeths began to become
out of control and he starting to become naГЇve with his actions by thinking Macduff

Social Action Theories Essay
Social action theories are known as micro theories which take a bottom up approach
to studying society; they look at how individuals within society interact with each
other. There are many forms of social action theories, the main ones being symbolic
interactionism, phenomenology and ethnomethodology. They are all based on the
work of Max Weber, a sociologist, who acknowledged that structural factors can
shape our behaviour but individuals do have reasons for their actions. He used this to
explain why people behave in the way in which they do within society. Weber saw
four types of actions which are commonly committed within society; rational, this
includes logical plans which are used to achieve goals, traditional customary
behaviour,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labelling theory has also been used to apply the interactionist theory to society; the
theory, like Mead, emphasises the importance of symbols and situations in which
they are used. The main interactionist concepts are the definition of the situation if
we believe in something then it could affect the way in which we behave. The
looking glass self this was created by Cooley who argues that we see ourselves in a
way in which we think others see us. These concepts have been useful in explaining
why people act in certain ways in certain situations; therefore, the labelling theory is
effective in the study of society.
Overall, in conclusion, there are many different social action theories which can be
used in the study of society, however, not all of them can be applied to all
Tuberculosis
Introduction:
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease which causes millions of death in humans. In
India approximately 500,000 deaths occurs now and then. TB is an air borne
disease which is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Apart from M. tuberculosis,
there are many strains of Mycobacterial species like M. bovis , M .africanum , M.
microti, M. caprae , M. pinnipedi i, M. canetti and M. mungi. Together these species
are known to be M. tuberculosis complex. The main target of tuberculosis is the lungs
(i.e. pulmonary tuberculosis) as well as other parts of the body (i.e. systemic
tuberculosis). Most tuberculosis does not cause infection which is known as latent
tuberculosis (i.e. they remain in inactive form). The spread of infection is ... Show

tuberculosis.
Signs and symptoms of TB:
Cough
Unintentional weight loss
Fatigue
Fever
Night sweats
Chills
Loss of appetite
Diagnosis of TB Disease:
People suspected to have TB disease should test for the following:
Medical history,
Physical examination,
Test for TB infection (TB skin test or TB blood test),
Chest radiograph (X ray)
Appropriate laboratory tests
Testing for TB infection:
Tuberculin skin test: Also called the Mantoux tuberculin skin test is done by
injecting a small amount of fluid (called tuberculin) into the skin in the lower part
of the arm. A person given the tuberculin skin test must return within 48 to 72
hours to have a trained health care worker look for a reaction on the arm. If at the
site of injection there may be raised, hard area or swelling, its size should be using a
ruler. If the size is greater than 5cm this indicates the positive result for TB.
TB blood tests: TB blood tests (also called interferon gamma release assays or
IGRAs) TB. An IGRA measures how strong a person s immune system reacts to TB
bacteria by testing the person s blood in a laboratory. If the result is positive, it

Hurricane Katrina Discrimination
Hurricane Katrina was a terrible Natural Disaster which swept away much of New
Orleans, Louisiana leaving little behind. Causes and outcomes with discrimination in
race and ethnicity after Hurricane Katrina.
When thinking of a certain town or city, people will remember what it is known for
or what they saw. When one is thinking of New Orleans, Louisiana they will more
than likely think of African Americans (Pg.90). The Latino population did not start to
appear in New Orleans until the late twentieth century (Hernandez Leon, Pg.90).
Following Hurricane Katrina, African Americans felt frivolous or at risk as Latino s

The part of the city where poor African Americans resided was hit the hardest
(Fussell, Pg.95). Unfortunately, this neighborhood was the last on the list to be
cleaned up and rebuilt. The African Americanresidents were sent to the New

Orleans citizens might say that Hurricane Katrina had a positive impact on their
lives, teaching them how to live and survive during such a terrible time as well as
the situation making them stronger however, this was not the case for African
Americans (Pg.109). Despite all of the horrific situations, the community of New

Archie Bunker Stereotypes
The word stereotype in the dictionary should include a picture of the fictional
character Archie Bunker, from the 1970s sitcom titled All in the Family. It is hard
to find just one example of an episode that showcases the level this character will
stoop to stereotype someone; however, I selected an episode titled, (Sammy s
Visit), that is considered one of the sitcoms finest. Archie is excited about a
passenger he had in his cab earlier in the day. The phone rings during his storytelling
to his family, and its Sammy Davis, Jr.! Archie invites Sammy to his house to pick
up his briefcase he accidently left in the cab. Archie is uncharacteristically excited
about the star agreeing to stop in. Michael, Archie s son in law, noticed that he
Geometry In Gothic Architecture
Divinity of the Aesthetics of Geometry in the Gothic Era: Chartres Cathedral s Rose
Windows
Churches and Cathedrals constructed during the Gothic era, are known to be
extravagant works of architecture. One of the most identifiable characteristics of
Gothic era architecture is the rose window. The use of circular stained glass rose
window began to rise in popularity at the beginning of the 13th century and continued
to during the Middle Ages. The construction of Rose Windows was a detailed process
and contained various techniques using mathematics and geometry. These windows
were produced to be lavished, multicolored stained glass windows, filled with motifs
referencing scenes from the bible. These illustrations would generally be fitted into ...

Because of the relic of the Virgin Mary, the Cathedral through history has been a
destination of pilgrimage (Encyclopedia 97). Items such as this are details that
bring one closer to holiness, God, Christ and or more specifically the Virgin.
Chartres is also notorious for its stained glass work, the structure contains 185
figurative windows , including its lancet windows and all rose windows, yet only
152 remain in the church (Kemp 3). Due to a lot of stained glass windows, the
light shining in through the stained glass has an effect of a heavenly experience on
Earth for people who are in the cathedral. The combination of a physical object of a
holy figure and the omniscient presence of God in the works of the stained glass
rose windows, creates an atmosphere for visitors of Chartres Cathedrals to feel a pure
connection to the heavenly
Sacrifice In The Film Chocolat
It takes a lot of courage and sacrifice for someone to maintain their integrity while
trying to belong in a group of people. They are also tempted to give up some part of
themselves that they think people do not like about them. In the film Chocolat
Vianne Rocher demonstrates this point throughout the entire movie. Vianne appears
strong and independent on the outside, but inside, wants to belong somewhere, and is
tempted to change herself to fit in with the rest of the villagers. She has a lot of
courage and strength to stay as herself and not change just to find belonging with
other people.

The Ideal City In Plato s The Republic
In book II of The Republic, Glaucon has yet to be convinced that being just is better
than being unjust. (Cooper, Plato: The Complete Works , 357) He wants Socrates to
further explain why justice should be valued both in itself and for the consequences
that come from it. (Cooper, Plato: The Complete Works , 358b) Socrates thinks that
best way to this would be to theorize how justicewould look in an ideal city. Socrates
main goal from this point until book IV is to build this city theoretically and
explain how justice acts upon this ideal city. For this paper, I am going to argue
why this city is not completely good by explaining why I would not choose to live in
it.
First, Socrates needs citizens that are specialized in a particular trade, ... Show more

Although I find myself agreeing with many of the positions that Socrates holds in
The Republic, this idea of this city is certainty not one of them. On the outside, the
idea of a city run by educated and philosophical intellectuals who are incapable of
being corrupt sounds outstanding. But once you begin to understand the details
of how this city will be founded and maintained, it becomes obvious that this is a
city which relies heavily on fascism and authoritarianism. I think these details start
to become apparent when Socrates begins speaking on the stories that will be told
to the guardians. The fact that the guardians are only permitted to hear certain
stories shows that they really don t have any freedom over their soul or mind.
They are like a product that is carefully manufactured to serve a very specific
purpose. They are designed to basically be cogs in the machine, instead of living
any kind of fulfilling life. In fact, it seems like everyone in the city is basically
meant to be a cog in the machine. My next huge problem is Socrates choice to lie to
all the citizens by making them believe the narrative about the metals. This is
fundamentally wrong. Each citizen of a just city should be given every opportunity
to seek out truth. Instead, Socrates chooses to deter these citizens from finding any
truth. That is completely unjust, even if it is for the good of the city. I also find it
quite disturbing

everybody has a purpose. In this paper, I will critique Pastor Stephens s sermon
based on its introduction, body, delivery, conclusion and finally my overall reaction
to his speech. The reason for the speakers sermon was to ensure his audience realizes

To enable better understanding Pastor Stephens s maintained good volume in
speaking marking sure we didn t have to strain to hear him. He also made the
sermon very interactive asking a lot of question and asked the views of his
audience on an issue in order to engage them. He maintained good eye contact and
didn t use a lot of hand gestures so he didn t distract his audience from the topic. He
used spoke audaciously, he took risks in saying things that may or may not hurt
people s feelings in order to pass his point effectively. The speaker also made use of
transition words this made his sermon coherent.
The body of the sermon was mostly centralized on the purpose of each and every
one of us in the church, the saying everything happens for a reason and his view on
it. He stated that every person in the church has a particular purpose. He used the
example of a human s body stating that every part of the body has particular
purposes. He went further to say in the body of Christ some of us maybe the legs, the
eyes, the mouth, and the eyes of the church.
He said every one of us has a purpose in the church as every part of our body has a
particular task to perform. He said those of us who are evangelist are the mouth of
the church; he said those of us who are givers are the hands of the church, and those
of us who have the money to sponsor the movement of the gospel around the world
are the feet. This example made me and other audience member understand our

My Favorites Of Monisha As A Show On Indian Television
This was hands down one of the best sitcoms that ever aired on Indian Television.
We loved each and every character from this series. My personal favorite of all was
Maya S. The character was so classy, sophisticated and oh so perfect! She would
never leave a chance to mock Monisha with her sarcastic comments. And we know
that those middle class comments were often intended as a joke. We as a population
from that middle class category never felt that the comments were derogatory in any
sense.
Like Manisha, I mean Monisha had a sarcastic mother in law, we too similarly have

Is It Difficult To Prevent Genocides Essay
According to Daniel Goldhagen, genocides are constantly being underestimated,
which causes the never ending realities of the past repeating itself. From high
officials to ordinary citizens, people often overlook the pattern and causes of these
systematic killings. One of these includes the UN, which was created to prevent
another World War, and to protect the rights of sovereignty of member states. This
organization serves to solve international issues, but has failed and continues to fail to
prevent genocides. Even though this group signed in 1948 a UN document,
Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crimeof Genocide, which
punished and still punishes people guilty of genocide, not one life was ever saved
from that declaration. The reason is because most at first want to deny that these
extreme situations could happen ever again. Sadly,... Show more content on

If nations knew that there would be consequences to their calculations of profit from
the genocide, that would cause them to lean towards the right and not the wrong.
Taking away the benefits of any alliance or trade, to the ones that cause genocide
would intensify the seriousness of their atrocities. Together, every member of all
diplomatic nations, must have the right to intervene in military interventions. Solving
the issue before it happened would have been helpful when the Serbians manipulated
Bosnians by feeding the children cookies, and assuring them not to be afraid. The
United Nations should have not been deceived by these actions, nor abandoned
25,000 Bosnians gathering in a United Nations base, wanting protection. Not only did
the Unite Nations ignore this situation, but they claimed to not have any information
about the Rwandan genocide that cause the deaths of 800,000 individuals. Therefore,
we must hold our leaders accountable to their promises to alleviate the issues,
otherwise they should be denied not to hold that

How Michael Moore Makes His Arguments in Bowling for Columbine
Michael Moore in his latest documentary, Bowling for Columbine , has aimed his
camera directly between the eyes of our American culture. Using the school
shootings of 1999 in Columbine and Flint as a starting point, Moore documents the
fear and hypocrisy that has come to define this American culture. I m going to avoid
discussion of the specific material presented in this moving film; I feel no need to
reinvent the wheel, it would only come out square. Personally, I have never been
witness to a more powerful, more heartfelt documentary. Michael Moore, a Flint, MI
native, is obviously shaken, and incensed by these shootings. In the role ... Show

I ve come down off that high. If everyone in America saw this movie, we d probably
go home to the same frightened, gun laden neighborhoods. But self awareness that
Bowling for Columbine can provide would be a good first step for many of us.
Likely to be most thought provoking film of the year, Bowling For Columbine is
Michael Moore s big, heartfelt, funny, angry, messy exploration of guns and
violence in U.S. culture. The question posed is this: Why do we as Americans shoot
and kill over 11,000 people on average each year? What causes the Columbines?
What causes innocent bystanders? Why don t other countries have these problems,
even ones with lots of guns, or a violent national history? What makes us so insanely
special?
Moore s savviest choice is to avoid placing blame for American gun violence on
easy targets. Indeed, he seems less interested in placing blame than in burrowing
in to find the reasons behind the problems, to peel back the curtain and take a long
hard look at the wizard (In the film s climax, Moore interviews NRA chieftain Chuck
Heston. Heston was always a bold actor, and here he bravely chooses to talk to
Moore void of all logic, proving that utter cluelessness can serve evil just as well as
malice can.)
Columbine makes a cogent argument we don t so much have a gun culture as we
have a fear culture a fear both sensationalistic and racial in
A Writers Style Essay
The Pulitzer Prize winning writer N. Scott Momaday has become known as a very
distinctive writer who depicts the stories of the Native American life in almost
poetic ways. He does an excellent job of transporting the reader from the black and
white pages of a book, to a world where every detail is pointed out and every emotion
felt when reading one of Momadays books or other writings. This style of writing
that Momaday uses is very evident in his work The Way to Rainy Mountain, and
made even more apparent by reading a review of the book House Madeof Dawn
found on a web siterun by HarperCollins Publishers.
Throughout the essay The Way to Rainy Mountain , Momaday uses very descriptive
words, which brings the places he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One aspect of the essay The Way to Rainy Mountain that I found somewhat
distracting was when Momaday would move off of the obvious aspect of his
journey home. Even though I very much enjoyed the amazing descriptions that he
used in telling of the lands from where his people came, I found it hard to grasp the
purpose behind the side stories that were being told. I had latched onto the story of
him returning home to his grandmother s grave since that was the first aspect
presented to me as the reader. Once I had read the text over and studied it a little
more deeply, I realized that the purpose of the story was not to tell of Momaday s
journey back to rainy mountain, but to tell the story of the Kiowa s journey to
Rainy Mountain. I thought it was a little distracting the first time I read because I
was distracted by all of the information that Momaday was telling about the Kiowa
people and their history. I kept expecting to hear of his trip back to Rainy
Mountain and what he was experiencing during this time. As I said before, it was
not until I went back and reread the essay did I catch on about the true point to the
story. This might have been avoided if Momaday had made it clearer that the focus
of the story was on the Kiowa people and not his journey back to see his
grandmother s grave. Once I understood this

A Visual Analysis Essay On Nina Beal
Nina Beal is an artist that has created many different pieces of amazing art work one
of which is called the Waiting. The painting can be seen as a very dark piece of art
that gives a whole new view on what can be described as a swamp. The mood all of
the dark colors give the painting is depressing while the white of the cranes and the
lightblue boat give off a feeling of peace, those of which contradict the emotions
given off by the dark colors. The cranes appear to be very detailed along with the
boat being detailed as well. The emotions given off by the paintingmake the viewer
feel as if she is trying to make the swamps look dirty while the cranes and the boat let
the viewer believe that there is something slightly majestic about it. There
The Causes And Effects Of False Memory
False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the
human brain is very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and
misattribution of the original source of the information. Existing knowledge and
other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new memory, causing the
recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE). For
instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid
seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects
were shown a slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield signor a stop sign.
Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term stop sign
into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen.
Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed
to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that
subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered
participants memories. (STANFORD JOURNAL).
Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of
interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion
from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without
the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our
memory can be affected by us

Comparative Analysis of La Belle Dame Sans Merci and The Lovesong of J.
Alfred Prufrock It comes as no surprise that love poems are not a rare commodity.
Whether they re about a lovesick man pining for his soul mate or a general reflection
about how one perceives love, these poems offer an analysis of one of the most
innate desires of our human nature. Despite inevitable differences in writing style
and point of view, there can be times where love poems employ similar strategies to
tackle such an analysis. John Keats La Belle Dame Sans Merci and T. S. Eliot s The
Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock are no exception to this occurrence. Both poems use

13, 25 26). Because of how the knight describes the meadow, it can be inferred that
it is springtime. This is a significant contrast to the bleak, wintry hillside that he
described previously. With the contrast in this setting comes a contrast in how the
knight characterizes love. In the meadow, the knight meets a beautiful woman
with long hair and wild eyes. The knight describes her as having an almost fairy
like presence (Ln. 14 16). He makes her a garland for her head and bracelets from
the flowers in the meadow (Ln. 17 20). The woman eventually takes the knight
back to her elfin grot , or, cave, where he kisses her. By establishing a different
setting where the knight appears to experience love, the second setting in La Belle
Dame Sans Merci serves to resolve the knight s alienation and abandonment from
love. T.S. Eliot s The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock similarly offers a second
setting where Prufrock tries to recall love to resolve his alienation from it. The
dirty, urban, insidious streets laced with an ominous yellow fog suggest that
Prufrock is alienated from love. He fears not being able to find a woman that will be
able to look past his physical inadequacies. However, Prufrock attempts to resolve his
alienation by shifting the setting from the insidious streets of a city to the beach. The

If you want to bring kefir from Russia
It is not easy. Kefir should be stored only at refrigerator. If you get it out, you will
have 24 36 hours until it became waste. You may use special refrigerator bag and it is
only way to transport kefir. Remember, refrigerator bag will take a lot of place at
your luggage.
Also, then kefir become waste it release carbon dioxide. In this case pressure in

kefir explode at your luggage bag! All stuff will be bedraggled.
But if you buy fresh kefir and you have at least 36 hours until you arrive at home,
you may bring it from Russia. But we not recommend drinking it. Just add 50 grams
of kefir to milk and make new kefir. This way will safer.

INTRODUCTION
A vitamin so named in 1913 by political biochemist C. Funk is defined to be any of a
number if unrelated, complex organic substances found variously in most foods, or
sometimes synthesized in the body, and essential, in small amounts for the regulation
of the metabolism and normal growth and functioning of the body. (Webster s New
World College Dictionary, 4th Edition) We often obtain the substantial amount of
Vitamin C through our diets since the body is unstable to synthesize and actually
produce Vitamin C on its own. Vitamin C also known as Ascorbic acidis a colorless,
crystalline, water soluble vitamin, found in many foods especially citrus fruits,
vegetables, and rose hips; its required for proper nutrition and metabolism, and a
deficiency produces scurvy. (Webster s New World College Dictionary, 4th Edition)
If an individual does not have a sufficient amount of Vitamin C in their bloodstream it
often leads to a slow recovery for a simple cold, and for the formation of proteins
(collagen) which then creates skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels.
You need vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues, healing of wounds, and for
repairing and maintaining bones and teeth. (http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed

Sense Of Belonging Essay
Sense of belonging and interpersonal connectivity is widely researched topics in
psychology, but researches have disagreed on the significance of sense of
belonging (Ma, 2003). Likewise, sense of belonging has been defined in various
ways. According to Vallerand, sense of belonging has to do with the feeling of
connectivity with others in the same environment, often involves the identification
of one s self with a particular group. When a sense of belonging is well established
among students, they feel accepted, loved and respected, which influence their self
image and beliefs (Booker, 2004; Goodenow, 1993). Baumeister and Leary (1995)
acknowledged that sense of belonging has two features: contact and interactions on a
regular basis and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The feeling of belonging might have a direct impact on students motivation and
academic achievement (Goodenow, 1993a). For example, when a sense of belonging
is achievable within the student s social interactions, there is a belief and
determination which drives them to seek to prove their worth both outside and within
the academic setting (Goodenow, 1993a). Several studies revealed that there is a
significant relationship between sense of belonging and students academic
performance (Booker, 2006; Akar vural et al., 2013). Students academic effort and
school success are affected not only by individual differences in skill or ability but
are also influenced by social relationships at school. Goodenow investigated the
relationship between the sense of belonging among students and their expectations,
harbored values, motivation level, and achievement in several studies. The researcher
also examined the relationship between sense of school membership, expectancy of
success, value, and effort . Findings in both studies showed that there was a strong
correlation between sense of accession, success expectation and overall input in
efforts
My Post-Secondary Education
At fifteen years old I watched as my mother read through the pages of Hartman s
Nursing Assistant Care, preparing for the next day s test. For a year I watched as
my mother struggled to juggle three children, a full time job and school. It was over
this year that I realized just how important a post secondary educationwas in today s
world. Overtime, I studied how my parents would live pay check to pay check and
made the conscious decision to kick start my own future.
Deciding to attend college was partially based off of a selfish decision: I wanted to
live comfortably. I wanted to provide for my family and not have to worry about
money or the stability of my career. The second reason was because I wanted to help
people. Many people who suffer
My Last Duchess Meaning
The quote from the poem My Last Duchess by Robert Browning describes the part
toward the end where the Duke is talking to someone about what led to the death of
his wife. Evidence supported by the quote itself, specifically the line Much the same

stands/ As if alive (45 47), leads us to the conclusion that jealousy and arrogance got
the best of the Duke, which made him give the orders to have his wife killed.
The Duke is perceived to be the jealous, dominating type when it came to his wife
who is now dead; starting with the monk Fra Pandolf, whom he chose to paint the
portrait of his wife. He chose him over other painters because FrГЎ Pandolf would

Freshman Literature
We may discover that the purpose literature has is for analysis only in such that all
writings that are created from literature is in fact, about the literature. However,
Lindemann, views the freshman composition course as an opportunity for the
students to enter into academic conversation, to prepare themselves for the type of
discourse found in the academy. Even though both Tate and Lindemann argue from
opposite ends of whether literature should or should not be a part of the freshman
composition I understand both views but I also recognize there is room for extending
each argument. Why not start with the end in mind, first?

The World Of Assessment On The Education Community
Abstract This paper was created to explore the world of assessment issues in the
education community. This paper was focused on using state tests in order to
formally evaluate teachers. Teachers are being evaluated all the time to determine
whether they are fit to be in the classroom. This paper focuses on the issues created
by NCLB as well as race to the top. It has become a competition to have teachers get
the best state scores on tests. These scores are how we are evaluating our current and
possibly even future teachers. The use of state tests as evaluation tools has become a
stressor for teachers. Teachers are constantly striving to be the best and with the
weight of the evaluation on their shoulder, their job has become harder and even
more stressful. Using these tests to evaluate create nothing but problems for teachers,
as they do not effectively evaluate teachers and their true capabilities.
Teachers are under constant evaluation. Principals, parents and other teachers are
constantly watching and evaluating teachers to ensure that students get the best
education possible. However, what should they be effectively be basing those
evaluations on? Standardized assessments are being more involved in classrooms,
and those are the tests that teachers are being evaluated on. However, is that truly
fair to the teacher to be evaluated on such substantial state tests? No Child Left
Behind (NCLB) was implemented in 2001 and was created in order to increase
John Kotter s Eight Steps To Change

should practice to boost the probability of successful implementation of changes
shown in Figure4.

We shall use the impact of low cost airline as an example to understand each step.
In 2003, Lufthansa was facing intense competition from low cost airline on short haul
domestic flights. In the fight for domination in the German skies, Lufthansa intend to

European services. 3.2.1Step 1. Establish a sense of urgency.

... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3.2.4Step 4. Communicate the vision.
During the implementation of change, there are bound to have resisters opposing the
change. Communication is the crucial factor to convert the resisters with managers
taking advantages of all the communication channels in the organisation to get the
transformation effort across to all. It must be able to convey and explain the
specifically how the vision will benefit them.
3.2.5Step 5. Empower others to act on the vision.
In every change, there are bound to be obstacles. The first four steps encourage
employees to accept changes. To further support change, obstacles that obstruct the
way to attaining the vision should be eliminated. If the obstacles happen to be an
employee, the organisation may well have to decide the option available or sever the
relationship with the individual.
3.2.6Step 6. Generate short term wins
Depending on the significance of change, some transformation of change might take
years to before it is successfully implemented. In the case of Lufthansa, in order to top
the low cost aviation industry, the duration might approximately take ten years.
Attitude and motivation among employees might fade along the way. Soon, they will
loose sight of the vision and become discouraged and disappointed therefore
Lufthansa should set up multiple short term win situations in a major transformation
change.
3.2.7Step 7. Consolidate gains and push for more change.
It is important to note

Although I find myself agreeing with many of the positions that Socrates holds in The Republic, this idea of this city is certainty not one of them. On the outside, the idea of a city run by educated and philosophical intellectuals who are incapable of being corrupt sounds outstanding. But once you begin to understand the details of how this city will be founded and maintained, it becomes obvious that this is a city which relies heavily on fascism and authoritarianism. I think these details start to become apparent when Socrates begins speaking on the stories that will be told to the guardians. The fact that the guardians are only permitted to hear certain stories shows that they really don t have any freedom over their soul or mind. They are like a product that is carefully manufactured to serve a very specific purpose. They are designed to basically be cogs in the machine, instead of living any kind of fulfilling life. In fact, it seems like everyone in the city is basically meant to be a cog in the machine. My next huge problem is Socrates choice to lie to all the citizens by making them believe the narrative about the metals. This is fundamentally wrong. Each citizen of a just city should be given every opportunity to seek out truth. Instead, Socrates chooses to deter these citizens from finding any truth. That is completely unjust, even if it is for the good of the city. I also find it quite disturbing

He stated that every person in the church has a particular purpose. He used the example of a human s body stating that every part of the body has particular purposes. He went further to say in the body of Christ some of us maybe the legs, the eyes, the mouth, and the eyes of the church. He said every one of us has a purpose in the church as every part of our body has a particular task to perform. The question posed is this: Why do we as Americans shoot and kill over 11,000 people on average each year? What causes the Columbines? What causes innocent bystanders? Why don t other countries have these problems, even ones with lots of guns, or a violent national history? What makes us so insanely special? Moore s savviest choice is to avoid placing blame for American gun violence on easy targets. Indeed, he seems less interested in placing blame than in burrowing in to find the reasons behind the problems, to peel back the curtain and take a long hard look at the wizard (In the film s climax, Moore interviews NRA chieftain Chuck Heston. Even though I very much enjoyed the amazing descriptions that he used in telling of the lands from where his people came, I found it hard to grasp the purpose behind the side stories that were being told. I had latched onto the story of him returning home to his grandmother s grave since that was the first aspect presented to me as the reader. Once I had read the text over and studied it a little more deeply, I realized that the purpose of the story was not to tell of Momaday s journey back to rainy mountain, but to tell the story of the Kiowa s journey to Rainy Mountain. • 29. The Causes And Effects Of False Memory False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the human brain is very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and misattribution of the original source of the information. Existing knowledge and other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new memory, causing the recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE). For instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects were shown a slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield signor a stop sign. Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term stop sign into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered participants memories. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us

Because of how the knight describes the meadow, it can be inferred that it is springtime. This is a significant contrast to the bleak, wintry hillside that he described previously. With the contrast in this setting comes a contrast in how the knight characterizes love. In the meadow, the knight meets a beautiful woman with long hair and wild eyes. The knight describes her as having an almost fairy like presence (Ln. 14 16). He makes her a garland for her head and bracelets from the flowers in the meadow (Ln. 17 20). The woman eventually takes the knight back to her elfin grot , or, cave, where he kisses her. By establishing a different setting where the knight appears to experience love, the second setting in La Belle Dame Sans Merci serves to resolve the knight s alienation and abandonment from love. T.S. Eliot s The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock similarly offers a second setting where Prufrock tries to recall love to resolve his alienation from it. The dirty, urban, insidious streets laced with an ominous yellow fog suggest that Prufrock is alienated from love. He fears not being able to find a woman that will be able to look past his physical inadequacies. However, Prufrock attempts to resolve his alienation by shifting the setting from the insidious streets of a city to the beach. The mermaids
