Essay On Importance Of Vote
Crafting an essay on the importance of voting presents a unique set of challenges that demand
both analytical and persuasive skills. First and foremost, one needs to delve into the historical
context, understanding the evolution of suffrage rights and the struggles faced by individuals
and communities to attain the right to vote. This demands meticulous research to provide a
comprehensive overview.
The essay must also address the contemporary relevance of voting, discussing the impact of
individual votes on the democratic process. This requires a thorough understanding of current
political dynamics, policy implications, and the consequences of civic engagement or apathy.
Navigating through the complex web of political ideologies and systems is no easy task,
demanding clarity of thought and the ability to articulate ideas coherently.
Additionally, the essay should incorporate statistical data and real-world examples to bolster its
arguments, making it imperative to scour various sources for relevant information. This aspect of
the essay requires not only research skills but also the ability to critically evaluate data to ensure
accuracy and relevance.
Furthermore, the persuasive element of the essay necessitates a deep understanding of human
psychology and rhetoric. Effectively convincing the reader of the importance of voting involves
appealing to their sense of civic duty, emphasizing the impact of individual actions on the
collective well-being.
The challenge lies in striking the right balance between informative content and persuasive
techniques, ensuring the essay is not only factually sound but also engaging for the reader.
Achieving coherence and flow in the narrative while seamlessly integrating diverse ideas requires
careful planning and editing.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the importance of voting demands a multifaceted approach,
blending historical context, contemporary analysis, statistical evidence, and persuasive
techniques. Navigating through this intricate web of information and ideas poses a formidable
challenge, requiring a writer to wear multiple hats – that of a historian, political analyst,
statistician, and rhetorician. It's a task that demands dedication, meticulous research, and a keen
understanding of both the subject matter and the target audience. Despite its complexity,
successfully crafting such an essay can be immensely rewarding as it contributes to fostering
awareness about the fundamental democratic process.

A Business Model Of Maximum Customer Satisfaction
And...
Tom Peters, in his video Radically Reengineering Business (BBC, 1993), got it
right: The world was, indeed, getting crazy in the 1990 s, and it is getting even
crazier. Dealership Service Departments everywhere, including my own, are no
exception. In a short few years, we have gone from a business model of maximum
sales per ticket (sometimes at any cost!) to a model of maximum customer
satisfaction and retention. While manufacturers have been singing the Retention song
for what seems like forever, some dealer groups and franchise owners have not yet
fully bought into this long term type of thinking. Therefore, by necessity, Service
Managers everywhere must rapidly adjust their own plans as their General Managers
flip flop between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is in the development of a new strategy for our Express
department. One of the ways our dealership has managed to maintain over 100%
net customer retention versus the Units in Operation in our marketing area is by
offering a convenient Express Lube department. While Express Lube has always
struggled to make a profit, its very existence, by allowing inexpensive and quick
oil changes to happen for thousands of customers every month, has ensured that our
showroom is provided with hundreds of potential customers every day, with as
many as 5% of these customers coming to our store for the first time. The
efficiency of our Express operation relative to that of our same brand competitors
has, in part, contributed to the continued growth of our new car department where
we now enjoy a nearly two to one lead in retail new vehicle sales in our Zone, and a
market share that the other dealers in our Zone can only dream about.
Nevertheless, amidst the already hyper competitive environment we work in, a
massive change is coming over which we have no control: The switch to a one
year oil change. Starting for the 2016 model year vehicles, all Toyota oil change
intervals will go from 8,000km or six months, to 16,000km or 12 months. Suddenly,
doing a great job at oil changes will no longer suffice
The Benefits Of Water Fluoridation
Water fluoridation was first implemented in the USA in 1945 and since then there are
around 25 countries in the world that receive fluoridated water and around 10% of the
UK population. Fluoridation schemes started when a significant association of
fluoride and lower incidence of tooth decays was noticed, in naturally occurring
fluoridated areas with 1mg/L of fluoride. Therefore, fluoride has been added where
needed, in order to obtain the optimal concentration of around 1mg/L. This
concentration is determined the optimal, as it is where the public gets the maximum
prevention of dental caries with the minimum adverse effects. In the UK,
Birmingham was the first city that introduced fluoridation and it was estimated that
between 1970 and 1980,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
About 50% of ingested fluoride is excreted through urine within 24 hours (Peter
Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Various factors may affect its bioavailability, for
instance when it is ingested with food it delays its absorption. The solubility and
the complex formulation may also reduce the extent of absorption. Unbounded free
ions of fluoride are distributed via the circulation throughout the intracellular and
extracellular body fluids with volume of distribution of 0.5 0.7 L/kg (WHO 2000).
Plasma concentration is affected by the renal status and urinary pH, for example
people with low glomerular filtration rate have increased plasma fluoride
concentration, thus increased levels of fluoride in tissues and consequently are
more susceptible to fluorosis (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Excretion may
also occur through faeces and sweat. The remaining amount deposits and retains in
bones and teeth, where it incorporates into the crystal network. Bone retention
reflects long term exposure to fluoride and is affected by the factors such as age,
sex and type of bone. Young children with growing bones have much higher
retention of fluoride compared to adults. Fluoride may also be released back to the
circulation when bones are remodeled, therefore plasma levels switch according to
this exchange between bones and circulation. It is also released
Film Techniques
The Effectiveness of the Techniques Used in Film Trailers in Persuading Their Target
Audiences
Media is communication. The main purposes of media are to entertain and to
inform. Television, newspapers/magazines, adverts and the internet are the most
well known forms of media. Trailers are designed to advertise the film, giving a
good impression in a small amount of time so that people will either go to see the
film, or buy the film, hence making money for the people involved. The trailers
chosen were Charlie s Angles Full Throttle and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines .
They were chosen because they had a large appeal and both used a wide range of
presentation techniques. The genres of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The majority of the audience is the same as the genre of the film science fiction. I
know this because it shows elements usually found in science fiction films such as
robots. The fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger would be interested by the trailer because
it shows him in a lot of the shots, has his name written boldly across one of the stills,
and he is famous for his rolls as the terminator. It shows many exciting parts of the
film, showing many explosions, lots of gunfire and a great deal of fighting. This
would appeal to the action loving audience. Also, there is a shot of an attractive
naked woman walking across the road, which would attract a male audience.
The trailers both use different aspects of the film to advertise it. The Charlie s
Angels trailer plays more on humour and sex appeal, for example the sorry I broke
your stick scene, whereas Terminator 3 uses the plot and the action to attract
people. I think the audience for Charlie s Angels is mainly female or young boys,
whereas with Terminator 3 I think the trailer would appeal to an older audience,
possibly more male than female. Both trailers have a certain sex appeal. This shows
that a sexual element in films attracts a lot of people.
The purpose of all trailers is to advertise the film and attract
Connection To Literature
1.The term significance to literature is defined as your own personal connection or
feelings you experience as you read the short story, poem, or play. These personal
reactions to the literary texts is comprised of your own personal experiences to the
topic discussed. How are you able to relate to what the author is conveying in the
story and what interpretations could you conclude from the story? They state that
readers find significance in a short story by reading the author s headnotes and
commentaries which will help the reader to better understand the significance of the
writer s lives, historical times, and cultural traditions in order to comprehend their
work. Also, it is important to read twice in order to better understand the

What is Corruption?
Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but
in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the
struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to
corruption, but some say it was religious reasons that led to this malfeasance,
meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today s society tend to
relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that faction of
society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through
the political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The
Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during
what we know as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in witch
like activities, who begin to accuse others of committing witchcraft just so that they
do not get into trouble. One girl controls the group, Abigail Williams, and she plots
against Elizabeth Proctor who is married to John Proctor, who Abigail had an affair
with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls, half the
townspeople were taken to trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the
devil and were sentenced to hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their
mistake about the accusations, which turned out to be false.

Sacagawea
Sacagawea was a beautiful Lemhi Shoshone woman .She was born May,1788 in a
Lemhi Shoshone tribe ,with beautiful dark hair and tan skin.Sacagawea was known
for her courage . One of her nicknames was Sacagawea leader of ages .Sacagawea
had a significant role in the Lewis and Clark expedition as the Shoshone interpreter.
Lewis,Clark, and Sacagawea started their mission exploring the Louisiana territory.
They traveled several hundred miles from North Dakota to the Pacific ocean.
Much of Sacagawea s life is a mystery . Around the age of twelve,Sacagawea was
captured by the Hidasta Indians , an enemy of the Shoshone tribe. She was then
bought from a French Canadian trapper named Toussaint Charbonneau who made her
one of his wives .Sacagawea and her husband lived among the Hidasta and Mandan
Indians in the upper Missouri River.
This was also when the Lewis and Clark expedition started. In February
1805,Sacagawea had givin birth to a son named Jean Babtiste Charbonneau. Even
though Sacagawea had given birth, Sacagawea was useful in many ways . She was
skilled at finding edible plants . When a boat she was riding on crashed ,she was able

they encountered a group of Shoshone Indians, she soon realized that the leader of
this group was her brother Cameahwait. Despite this family reunion , Sacagawea
stayed with Lewis and Clark for the trip west. Sacagawea, her husband, and their son
remained with the expedition on the return trip east until they reached the Mandan
villages. During this journey, Clark became fond of her son and gave him the
nickname pompey . Clark even offered to help give him a
The Nomination Process For A Site
The nomination process for a site to be considered on the World Heritage List is
comprised of five steps, which include the tentative list, nomination file, advisory
bodies, World Heritage Committee, and criteria for selection. The tentative list is
where a country makes an inventory of all cultural and natural heritages within the
site s boundaries. This tentative list may be submitted for inscription for the next
five to ten years, and can be updated at any time. This step needs to take place
before the World Heritage Committee can consider a site for inscription on the World
Heritage. The nomination file includes all necessary documentation and maps of the
site. This nomination can then be submitted to the World Heritage Centre for review.
Once complete the file can then be sent to the appropriate Advisory Bodies for
evaluation. There are two Advisory Bodies. Both of which evaluate a site that is
being nominated, and include the International Council on Monuments and Sites
(ICOMOS) and the World Conservation Union (IUCN). These committees provide
evaluations on a site. There is a third Advisory Body known as the International
Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property
(ICCROM). This last group provides expert advice as to the conservation of cultural
sites, along with training activities. The World Heritage Committee will then make a
final decision on whether a site will receive an inscription. This committee meets

Essay Analysis of the Gladiator Trailer
Analysis of the Gladiator Trailer
Trailers are important to films for a number of reasons. They promote a film and
present it to the target audience, in order to encourage them to watch the film.
Trailers also give the audience expectations of the film. The audience like to know
what to expect of a film before they go and see it. The audience is given a taste of the
story and the basic plot. This is done by showing an array of clips that are edited to
a certain degree. The trailer normally ends with a cliff hanger . This is a term used
to explain when an audience is not told the ending of a story. This makes them
wonder in suspense as to what the possible endings could be, therefore drawing them

I am looking at the camera shots/angles, colours, lighting, sound, plot, target audience
and genre. The film Gladiator is an epic, action, war film with some romance and a
lot of history. The opens image is of the universal logo, an instantly recognisable
big name. This is where the film was made. The following image is of the
DreamWorks logo. This is a Steven Spielberg company with a credible reputation.
This is a distribution company. A dramatic drumbeat is heard at the start of the
opening image which tells us instantly the genre of the film, an epic war film. This is
because a heavy drumbeat is a reminiscent of battle.
The first actual shot of the trailer is of the words THE GENERAL is then shown in
bold whit capital letters. I t stands out upon the black background. The words move
back and eventually fade into the background. At the beginning of this shot the
music builds up, trumpets now accompany the drums. This gives out a sense of
defiance and strength. The audience associates this with war and battle. This next
shot is a mid shot of a man walking boldly with his head up high. He is walking
through lines of soldiers in big strides. He is also dressed in armour, so we assume
he is the general. The general has a stern, solemn expression he seems secure and
confident. The lighting is bright but creates the sense of an austere atmosphere and a
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Intro:
I was dependent on none and related to none. The path of my departure was free, and
there was none to lament my annihilation... What did this mean? Who was I? What
was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually
recurred, but I was unable to solve them (Mary Shelley s Frankenstein).
Mary Shelley s book, Frankenstein, parallels her own experiences. Shelley s mother
died in childbirth, and she was left dependent on none and related to none. Her father,
William Godwin, abandoned his daughter emotionally when he remarried a woman
who treated Mary poorly. Shelley often searched for an understanding of who she
was. She did not have a mother to give her an education, so Mary taught herself by

Clare and Shelley both use negative diction, juxtaposing extreme terminology within
the same sentence, and long, rambling sentences within their writings. John Clare and
Mary Shelley s use of similar stylistic devices illustrates how loneliness makes one
turn to death, either suicidal or murderous, due to humans innate need to be
connected to others; without a connection, isolation creates insurmountable suffering.
Diction:
Clare, the author of I am, and Shelley, the author of Frankenstein, both use
despondent diction to represent the agony of loneliness; ultimately forewarning
the reader that without love, one s existence is lifeless and leads to doom and
destruction. When Shelley uses terms like catastrophe or wretch to describe the
creation of the monster, she refers to the physical appearance of the creature, and
the emotional turmoil of Victor Frankenstein and the creature, as well. The
monster is abandoned by Frankenstein due to his hideous stature. Shelley plays
with contrasts such as the creature s mouth, whose teeth are pearly white but
whose lips are black . The eyes, which ironically are the windows to man s
emotions, are colorless. The hair is lustrous , almost sensual, but the complexion is
shrivelled , like an elderly man on his death bed. She juxtaposes Victor s arrogance
of having the brilliance to create a gift reserved to G d, with his deliverance of the
devil. When Shelley says that the skin scarcely covers

Throughout history, human beings have more benefited from the Wikipedia than
any other encyclopedias because of the conveniently accessing and easily searching

information, it is widely used by students and academics for introductory concepts.
When people try to familiarize or need background information about a topic, they

not a reliable source for academic research. Indeed, I gained a basic sense of card
counting when I read the Wikipedia entry Card counting . However, as I am going
to start more in depth research about how to count card and how to calculate the True
counts, it is not rational to adopt Wikipedia because of the imprecise content, the risk
of vandalism, and the reliability of Wikipedia.
To begin with, the Wikipedia entry on Card counting provides a clear and
comprehensive overview of card valuation concepts and methods for those people
who do not know a lot. First, it explains the basic to use card counting system: The
most common variations of card counting in blackjack are based on statistical
evidence that high cards (especially aces and 10s) benefit the player more than the
dealer, while the low cards, (especially 4s, 5s, and 6s) help the dealer while hurting
the player ( Card counting sec. 1). Then it lists some ranking systems for card

Dictatorship In Lord Of The Flies
Lord of the Flies William Golding s novel, Lord of the flies is about how a plane
that was carrying young military school boy crashes on an island. The pilot is
killed but the many boys that survive the crash, find themselves on a deserted
island with no supervision. The author uses Jack who is one of the main characters
as the dictator and one of the authority figures. Therefore, Jack has total control of
people who follow him. Jacks rebellious actions were cruel and unacceptable. An
example of that is when he killed Simon with his group because they didn t even
bother to look if he is the monster or not. In the story Jack s group is stronger and
Ralph s is weaker which leads to a lot of conflicts and lives being taken. An example
of dictatorship is when Simon finds out that the captain is dead and tries to go tell
the other boys but, they follow him and killhim cruelly. Another example is when
Piggy was talking and trying to tell the groups that they should unite or they might
be stuck on that island forever, one of the former members of Jack s group kicked
down a huge piece of rock which hit Piggy and took his life. The other things that

Because, dictators have always been selfish by making decisions that affect a large
amount of people (usually in a bad way) and they have total control over everything
which makes them free to do anything and everything they want and the author is
telling us that. The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a
democracy everyone gets a vote but, in dictatorship only one person get a vote and
that leads to people not being happy with where they live and how their government
is growing as a dictatorship. Therefore, I agree with William Goldingbecause I think
that dictatorship is cruel and should not be tolerated because it can lead to people
losing their lives and the country to being in
Why Is It Important To Engage Young People In...
Young people bring a new perspective to the concept of leadership. Their age
suggests limitations to what is seen as conventional markers of leadership,
however they still have the ability to lead or influence others within a given
context. Freire argues that knowledge gained from living experience should not be
rejected or valued less than developed knowledge. Living experience plays a valid
part in understanding the larger context. Young people may not understand the
complexities of the democratic system and broader contexts, but this does not
invalidate their worldview and living experience of how the decisions made impact
them. Moreover, their living experience brings detail and richness to the decision
making process. However, young people can be easily marginalized in the decision
making processes, largely due to the lack of legal standing when under the age of
eighteen. Young people who are unable to vote are largely left to other measures such
as protests and petitions (Freire). Empowerment is, therefore, critical to the
participation for them to become active in the context and power relationships they
are involved in. Empowered young people hold elected representatives and other
delegates accountable for the decisions they make, and the power they have been...

Is it under the constitution that the government is obligated to engage young people
in decision making? Has the government ratified a strategic action plan unique for

awareness of the importance of youth engagement and participation. Once the
positive effects of youth participation are acknowledged, negative stereotypes of
young people will be eliminated, helping young Americans climb higher on the ladder

Imagine a world, where all is fair, and everything is just. That world you re

Babylonia reigning from around 1792 to 1750 BCE (42 years). Although
Hammurabi did a lot of things in his life, he is most well known for making,
Hammurabi s Code. Hammurabi s Code is 282 laws set to display justice for the
weak and the powerless. He organized them into categories such as family law,
personal injury law, and property law. Even if Hammurabi s reign is long over, we

Personal injury law made sure that if something happened (big or small) to the
victim, they would receive justice. A sample of law 218 (doc E) states that If a
surgeon has operated on a man and caused his death, his hands shall be cut off.
Even though this might sound too brutal to be justice for anyone, in some way or
another, this might actually relieve the friends and family of the innocent person.
Think about it, surgeons and doctors are meant to keep you safe and if they can t
do their job, why do it at all? Of course, back then they didn t have the technology
that we have today and saving lives was harder than now. Although that is why it
was so important to have the best of the best surgeons and doctors, this was their
livelihood on the stakes! If a farmer died in the hands of a doctor, there wouldn t be
as much food going around the table. If it still sounds too violent then take into
mind that if a surgeon has saved a life of a man, he shall receive ten shekels of
silver. (Law 215 doc E). Hammurabi didn t just make these laws for the powerless
he also took in mind the heroes that save the day. Contrasting it to today s laws,
instead of cutting failed surgeon s hands off, doctors not able to save people are a
given and it happens every day with no actual
V For Vendetta Essay

government In the world that we live in right now, anything is possible and that is
for the good and the bad. Like represented in the novel, 1984 by George Orwell, the
party used technology to make a whole new society that goes by the rules of the
party, which just means that anything that the party does is justifiable because they
are the ones making the rules and anybody who doesn t obey them gets vaporized .
Another example of the government controlling the people and invading their rights
for the benefit of the government is the movie V for Vendetta directed by James

was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically

tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary,
they adored the Party and everything connected with it (24,Orwell). This quote

The children have been brainwashed since they were born, this is another tactic
the party used to make sure that it stays in power because if they can move the

Technology is good for us but it has been exploited in so many different negative
ways that it would be better if we did not have electronics because we would still

Balzac and the little Chinese Seamstress, by Dai Sijie, storytelling occurs during

she seemed to be at the start. Juana falls behind Kino s shadow. The impression
Juana gave in the beginning of the story was that she was brave and strong. She

onto the next chapters, I was proved completely wrong. Juana s husband Kino is the
dominant person in the relationship. The speakeralways mentioned how Juana... Show

In the end of chapters 3 and 4, I doubted my own thoughts. Juana tried convincing
Kino to get rid of the pearl. She kept telling him awful things about the pearl but he
never listened to her and refused to do what she said. Juana said,
This thing is evil...This pearl is like a sin! It will destroy us...Throw it away, Kino.
Let us break it between stones. Let us bury it and forget the place. Let us throw it
back into the sea. It has brought evil. Kino, my husband, it will destroy us...Even our
son. (38 39, ch. 3)
Juana kept telling Kino about how the pearl was evil. She told him twice and you
can tell she was very emotional about it because she cried as she said those words.
Kino never listened to her and refused to obey what she told him. If Juana was really
a stronger character, Kino might have listened or at least thought about obeying her
rather than immediately going against her point. I believe that this shows how Kino
is more superior to Juana, hence why I believe that she falls behind his
The Canadian Justice System Is The Mechanism That Bears
On...
The Canadian justice system is the mechanism that bears on the principle of the
rule of law (English Magna Carta issued by King John in 1215). The aspect of the
rule of law in Canada is that all people are subjected to the law; that no single
person, no matter how important or powerful, is above the law and that the rule of
law should be respected and applied equally(Griffiths p. 5). The principles of rule of
law in Canada can be identified in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms,
which administers the protection of individuals and ensures fairness during all legal
proceeding (Graffiths p.6). For this being, all aspects of the criminal justicemust be

Overall, the criminal courts take up a critical stand in the Canadian criminal justice
system as it examines the pre trail process, the courtroom workgroup and the flow of
cases.
In this report, a critical analysis and observation of the Canadian criminal courts
will examine the prosecution of criminal cases, starting with the pre trail
process(behind the scene), the professionals who occupy the courtrooms ( one
shot players also known as the courtroom workgroup) and the procedures for a
criminal case (the flow of cases). The observation for this paper took place in
College court located at Yonge Street West, around 10am 1pm on October 31, 2014.
The purpose of this observation was to enhance the knowledge and understanding of
the Canadian criminal courts role in dispensing the Canadian justice system. The
observations includes an in depth study of the key aspects and roles of prosecutors
in criminal cases, the method in which cases proceed, the way prosecutors, defence
lawyers and judges handle cases and the procedures taken before criminal trails.
Overall this paper is the study of the day to day functioning of the criminal courts and
criminal justice system.
To start off, one of the major observations done in this critical analysis of the
Canadian criminal courts is the pre trial process that is established behind the scenes
of a criminal trail. That is to say, before all
The Fallacy of Nonsense Essay
The Fallacy of Nonsense
Lewis Carroll was a professor of logic, writing among his well known works of
fiction, treatises on the subject of logic and even a textbook, Symbolic Logic. It is
the function of logic to classify and formulate fallacious forms of argument as well
as valid ones. (Burks 367) So is it some of the functions of Carroll s tales of Alice s
Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Presenting different
puzzles, riddles, or what appears to be on the surface nonsense, Carroll in these
books present many questions of logic and indirectly their solutions, challenging the
ability of the reader to believe what has been presented. All his nonsensical puzzles
can be either proved or disproved using some ... Show more content on

Carroll may have chosen to use this particular example to demonstrate a fallacy due
to the fact that the reader already knows that Alice is not a serpent, leaving it to logic
to prove why.
Another fallacy is presented in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland at the mad tea
party. On the two propositions I say what I mean and I mean what I say, (Carroll A/T
61) Alice concludes equivalence, applying the symbolic logic rule of conversion.
Translated into a form which can be applied, the first proposition becomes All I say
is what I mean , notated All S is M , by definition a universal proposition. The
second, assumedly a conversion of the first, is translated All I mean is what I say and
is notated All M is S , also a universal proposition. However, the conversion is
invalid, because a universal proposition converts to a particular proposition. The
valid conversion would be All S is M to Some M is S , or Some of what I mean is
what I say , according to the symbolic rules of conversion. (Copi 194) Now it is
clear that the two propositions are not necessarily equivalent, and the following
propositions as stated by the Mad Hatter, I see what I eat [and] I eat what I see, the
March Hare, I like what I get [and] I get what I like, and the Dormouse, I breathe
when I sleep [and] I sleep when I breathe (Carroll A/T 61) are inferentially invalid,
and allowedly so considering this demonstration of a fallacy.

By definition, tangible representations pertain to objects and photographs or
pictures that can be considered as highly iconic, or strongly resembling what they
stand for, called the referent (Bruce et al., 2016, p. 425). Moreover, tangible
representations can be employed expressively or receptively. Bruce et al. (2016)
reviewed studies on literacy for the deaf blind from 1990 to 2015. Findings
showed the role of tangible representations and technologies in improving
communicative expressiveness. Furthermore, different kinds of literacy lessons
that are normally given to prelinguistic learners who are deafblind can improve self
expression. Some examples are: 1) using daily schedules to form anticipatory skills;
2) personalized story boxes to boost access and engagement with content; 3)
experience books that enable the development of distancing (i.e. separation in time
and space between the object of representation and the referent), and 4) chances for
choice making to perform preference expression (Bruce Conlon, 2005). For effective
lessons, learners must be in a setting that promotes literacy growth. As McKenzie
(2009) pointed out, an environment that is rich in plentiful literacy resources will
benefit all kinds of learners, with or without disabilities. Books and other resources
should be in classrooms in different forms if possible, including Braille, tactile
adaptations, large print,

A main error that came from the case studies in the Set Phasers on Stun reading was
the edit function within the control system. This type of error is label as the mistakes
error. This is a mistake error because during the time of the treatment, Mary Beth
(operator) thought that her quick thinking of changing her typo before putting the
machine to work would solve the problem immediately. Yet, the computer program
was unable to keep up with the sudden changes of the edit function. Hence, the
program setting went from x ray mode to electronbeam mode without notifying the
operator.
Consequently, since there was no notification of an error that the operator could see,
she continued with the process treatment on her patients. The occurrence of this error
is categorized as a commission because the act was performed incorrectly. Since the
operator typed the key command too quickly that it caused her to mess up the
operating command, she tried to recover her mistakes by using the editing function at
a very fast pace that was not fit for the program. Some contributing events that led up
to the error are the presence of cameras within the treatment room, but it was not

Homelessness in America

Homelessness is an arising problem within the United States. Poverty and
homelessness are inheritably linked. As children we were raised to believe that
through hard work and determination that we could accomplish anything. We all
had dreams of having nice cars, a nice home and lots of money, however this is
impossible when a person is living pay check to pay check and close to being
homeless. Knowing that we live in the land of opportunity brings many dreams to
anyone s mind, however, many families are experiencing financial issues that are
causing them to become homeless because they cannot afford to live and pay their
bills, food, child care, health care and education (National Coalition of the homeless,
2007). Homelessness in America is persistent, complex and widely occurring
problem that incorporates many economic, social and psychological dimensions
(National Coalition of the homeless, 2007). With the shortage of affordable rental
property is causing the increasing number of poverty families. Homelessness doesn t
only affect an adult but it does affect many children. In America, 3.5 million
Americans are homeless each year. However, of these Americans that are homeless
children make up more than 1 million people who are homeless (Home Aid America ,
n.d.). With children and many families that are homeless, veterans, and domestic

The Plains Indian
The term Plains Indian refers to a group of indigenous people who lived on the
interior plains of both Midwest America and the southern Canada. Their culture was
traditionally nomadic as they survived by hunting and gathering, and often followed
the migration of the American Bison. The Bison provided them with their main
resource as they used its hide, bones, fat, and fur to make clothing, housing, and
tools. Teepees were their traditional form of housing because they were easily
constructed and then dismantled to fit the Plains Indian s transient lifestyle (Roth,
1923). Several other unique aspects of their lifestyle have become a part of the
stereotypical American Indian depicted in film and literature such as their reliance on

The men mainly wore leggings and short pants made out of animal skin and during
the winter seasons they wore thick hide robes. It was difficult to obtain enough hide
to clothe an entire village so some members had very little clothing at all and almost
no one had more than one set of clothing (Carlson, 1998). This scarcity caused Plains
Indians to reduce the use of their clothing by going naked in the warmer seasons in
hopes of prolonging its use (Kaye, 1987). Most women wore dresses made out of
lighter weight deerskin, sometimes with thin pants made out of deerskin or buffalo
hide. Women spun and wove fibers made from flax and other wheat to make the
inside of theses hides softer (Carlson, 1998). The act of adorning personal items with
dyed porcupine quills is an ancient Native American art form predominantly used by
the Plains Indian tribes before the introduction of glass beads. This method of
decoration has long been a part of Plains Indian culture as archaeologists have
discovered quill working tools dating back to the 6th century (Neuman, 1960). Quill
work is entirely unique to the Subarctic, Plains, and Northeastern Woodlands of North
America (Roth, 1923).These areas encapsulate the porcupine s natural habitat which
reveals the ability of Plains Indians to utilize the resources around them for means of
production beyond survival. This adaptation is
Intraoperative and Postoperative Complications of
Hypothermia
Reviewing the Literature
Hypothermia is a common problem in surgical patients. Up to 70% of patients
experience some degree of hypothermia that is undergoing anesthetic surgery.
Complications include but are not limited to wound infections, myocardial ischemia,
and greater oxygen demands. The formal definition of hypothermia is when the
patient s core body temperature drops below 36 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees
Fahrenheit. Thus, the purpose of the paper is to synthesize what studies reveal about
the current state of knowledge on the effects of pre operative warming of patient s
postoperative temperatures. I will discuss consistencies and contradictions in the
literature, and offer possible explanations for the inconsistencies. ... Show more

Ten patients were in a control group where no special precautions were taken, ten
patients had preoperative and intraoperative active warming, and ten patients had
intraoperative active warming only. By providing 45 minutes to 1 hour of pre
warming and intraoperative warming combined, hypothermia caused by general
anesthesia was not experience. After induction the patients with just intraoperative
warming were in a hypothermia state for at least the first two hours. It was not until
the end of surgery that both groups (except the control group) were at a normothermia
state.
Similarly, Hooven (2011) concluded that when using FAW blankets preoperatively,
the incidence of postoperative hypothermia was decreased in patients receiving
colorectal surgery. The study supported the idea of preoperative warming. This
comparison study was a retrospective review of data that was gathered over a
period of two years, included 149 patients having colorectal surgeries. 77 patient

Organizational Behavior And Human Behavior
Organizational behavior studies the impact of groups, individuals, and structures have
on the personal human behavior within many organizations. There is many different
definitions of organizational behavior, but they are all relatively the same in all
cases. Organizational behavior studies organizations from multiple viewpoints,
including behavior within the organization and in relation to other organizations
(Boundless.com). This is not just the study on one organization, but the study
within one organization as well as the organization affects other organizations.
Organizations can vary in size and all have different outcomes inside the
workplace. There are many reasons to study organizational behavior; one of the
biggest reasons is to find out what is the best way for a company to operate. If you
can pinpoint all of the bad habits a company has and can reverse them, then you will
have a better performing company. Everyone company studies their organizational
behavior is some way. Calling out an employees and correcting their mistakes is one
example. Organizational behavior is only a study on the field and not an actual group
within an organization. Almost all actions of an individual can have either a positive
or negative affect on a company. Anything from attitude to behavior reflected from
the attitudes of people can affect the outcome of a problem. All behavior can have an
effect on an organization. There are many different kinds of behavior types. Attitudes

Similarities Between Martin Luther King Jr And Nietzsche
The ostensible contradiction between war and morality has resulted in serious moral
questions that many ethicists have tried to answer. Is war ever just? Is war just an
irremovable part of human nature? Is some war just? The world constantly finds
itself in a state of some form of war, and as such it seems that assessing the morality
of waris essential. As with any other issue, different thinkers have disagreed on what
the standards should be for warfare and how people should behave in such situations.
Two thinkers that we have discussed, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Friedrich
Nietzsche, held two vastly different approaches to ethics. Based on their differing
philosophies as well as their views and influence on historical conflicts, we can...

He thinks that violence is destructive and only increases the tension and conflict
between groups, while nonviolent conflict resolution allows for the creation of a
positively reconciled beloved community that has been genuinely changed for the
better. In King s mind, the issue with war and violence is that it attacks those
individuals who have been susceptible to evil, rather than the evil itself. King
believes that the struggle should be against the evil forces, and not those who he
describes as being caught in those forces. During King s earlier years, he thought
that nonviolence was only useful in the context of group conflicts within nations.
Later, as he delved deeper into the nonviolent philosophy of Gandhi, and how it
worked in the struggle for independence of India, he expanded this belief in
nonviolent conflict resolution to an international scale as well. Nonviolence aligns
with the principle of love that King lives by, and violence stands directly against it.
King also associates violence with hatred and bitterness, and believes that responding
to one wrong with another succeeds only in intensifying the hatred that exists in the
world. He even makes the point that due to the rapid technological developments of
immensely destructive weapons, war is an increasingly dangerous endeavor and that
the result of all out warfare today would be only mutual destruction. King believes
that today, mankind s choice is nonviolence or nonexistence and that an ethics of
love, instead of war, as he eloquently puts it, is the only way to prevent this

fulfilling His mission. He selected hard working people such as fishermen to be His

Queer Theory Case Study
Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text,
Gender Trouble: feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She
discussed the role that gender and sexual orientation play in the way in which
society uses the concepts in order to place individuals in a specific category on the
basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory examines the
diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of
genderidentity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the
fragmentation of constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015).
According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or
masculine) which in turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female
is considered to be a women who is anticipated, by the society in which they live, to
be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and who needs a sensual relationship

Firstly is the cost. A significant number of us realize that the cost of the
automobile is exceptionally costly, regardless of the possibility that it will be a
small automobile. So the individuals who are of normal families won t be able to
buy the automobile. This will make the Mercedes Benz Company lost a ton of
profit. The following is the service charge of Mercedes Benz is amazingly high;
one time of overhauling it might cost one thousand or more. Other than that, the
frill and the extra parts of Mercedes Benz auto are likewise extremely costly. All
aspects of the automobile likewise cost more than a thousand. Moreover, the
Mercedes automobile utilization of petrol is high and these days the cost of petrol
is escalating as well. Not just that, promotional campaign is one clear wellspring of
shortcoming too. Mercedes Benz scarcely has any promotional campaign. While

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Key Concepts Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is described as a form of
therapy which focuses seeking solutions for clients and not trying to establish the
clients actual problem. (Corey, 2016). During treatment the therapist will not
concentrate on the problems affecting the patient but rather the activities that are
helping the client. (Gehart, 2009).
Not one person is acknowledged for developing the Solution Focused Brief Theory.
Many different people played a vast role in developing this solution creating theory.
It is however believed that Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim berg where the initial
founders. (Corey, 2016). Behaviour and cognitive behavioural treatment helped form
the foundation of SFBT. The approaches revealed that changing actions and thoughts
have a positive influence on people s lives. (Reichenber Seligman, 2010).
Solution focused brief theory concentrates on four main concepts.
The first concept states that if it ain t broke, don t fix it (Bryan, 2015). SFBT focuses
on reducing past experiences and concentrates on the client s strengths. Problem
solving is almost irrelevant; behaviours are moulded to create solutions to the
problems. SFBT replaces the unwanted thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with
alternatives. The attention is not on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It states that once you know what works, do more of it (Bryan, 2015). Therapists
identify those activities and behaviours which have been completed correctly by the
patient. Once they identified them, therapists encourage clients to use them regularly
as they have been proved to work well. The therapy will identify occurrences of when
the problem does not occur. Therapists concentrate on the positive areas and not the
problem areas, people are healthy and capable, they have know how to improve their
lives (Corey, 2016). Ultimately the good behaviours will take over from the bad
ones. (Bryan,
Understanding Of Fidelity Research As A Comprehensive...
Purpose The primary purpose for this document is to establish a shared
foundational understanding of fidelity research as it pertains to the Whole School
Whole Child (WSWC) model and create shared language for related concepts.
Overview City Year has established the importance of fidelity, or program integrity,
by including it in the FY12 Highest Priority Goals (HPG #1d). Fidelity has many
nuances for a program being implemented in so many locations by so many
providers with variable local conditions. Due to this complexity, we will reframe it to
focus on it as uniformity of purpose and effort. Rather than passively attempting to
conform to the model and not understanding it in within the local context, every
individual who supports design and implementation must deepen their knowledge of
what the value drivers, or core components, are within the model so that they can
make reasonable decisions when a local challenge or suboptimal condition emerges.
The following briefing outlines key concepts, assets and milestones in building a
comprehensive approach to increasing quality of implementation through decreasing
unnecessary variability and complexity. The goals of the initial discovery phase
include: Establish shared language around fidelity, as well as clear, concise, reliable
and valid measures Clarify the list of comprehensive core components within the
WSWC model Identify acceptable adaptation types that address local contextual
differences and develop examples
Persuasive Essay On A First Date
When you meet someone new, it s really exciting. The feelings of love and
euphoria are high and this makes you feel good. Sharing your life with another
person is an exciting experience. It s even more exciting when you re compatible
with this person. In order to figure out if you re compatible with a potential partner,
the dating period is necessary. Dating allows you to learn the quirks, likes and
dislikes of another person. You ll also learn whether or not you like spending
quality time with them. The typical first date for many couples involves dinner and
movie. However, the dinner and movie idea isn t always the best way to get to
know each other. Sure, you can have conversation over dinner, but when the movie is
rolling, you both are ingrained in the movie screen. That s potentially more than two
hours engrossed in something else other than each other. There are tons of
memorable ways to enjoy and get to know one another on a first date that don t
involve watching the big screen.

A cooking class is a memorable first date because it is interactive and educational. It

Some of the most beautiful relationships are born underneath the stars on a picnic

sandwiches. Throw in a few utensils, napkins and a comfy blanket to sit on. You and
your date can enjoy an evening enjoying conversation and live music in the warm
weather. This is an incredibly memorable and romantic gesture for a first
Crystals Growth Lab
Introduction
The crystal growth lab was done to display how crystals expand and grow through a
changing environment. A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more
components, one liquid, and one dissolved solid or solids. The amount of the solid
introduced in the solution is known as the concentration. Solubility is the property of a
concentration to dissolve into a solution, describing how well it dissolves in different
temperatures and masses. Depending on the solubility a solution can be saturated,
undersaturated, or supersaturated.
When a solution has the maximum amount of solid concentration based on the
temperature, crystals will not form or dissolve into the solution being equally
saturated. In an undersaturated solution, there ... Show more content on

The solution became lighter in color as the seed crystalized, attaching to the bottom
of the beaker. The seed crystal was gradient in color started as dark blue and turning
lighter blue as it grew upward seen in Figure 2. Conclusion
In conclusion, from this experiment, we can say our hypothesis was not valid. We
reject the hypothesis because in the recording of immediate results, our solution
reached temperatures much less than 70В° Celsius and yet no crystallization began.
The solution showed no signs of crystal growth at the predicted temperature,
however, did ultimately crystalize under a much lower temperature. Our results may
have been impacted by the faulty thermometer and the insulation using the
Styrofoam cup. As our cooling rate is slightly slower, our seed crystal formed more
individual crystals, similar in size, rather than hundreds of very fine crystals. Our
crystal grew from the seed crystal and also from the bottom of the beaker. The seed
crystal allowed the Copper Sulfate ions to attach to it, growing outward as the
solution stabilized. Crystals also formed on the bottom of the beaker as the
concentration was not fully dissolved, settling to the bottom of the beaker. To
improve the experiment, we could have used a better thermometer to record the
appropriate data. We also should have heated the solution further to ensure the
concentration of Copper Sulfate was
American Montage Exhibition Essay
Leading our way the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I toured the exhibit,
American Montage. American Montage made its big appearance of the work of
Brooklyn based artist, Adam Cvijanovic. From the previous fifteen years, this
exhibition highlights establishment and extensive scale canvases on Tyvek s shoal.
Cvijanovic s enthusiasm for nineteenth century landscape art is represented in the
American Montage. Walking into Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I was
immediately drawn towards Adam Cvijanovic s exhibit. Cvijanovic s exhibit
included art pieces such as: Flint Hills, Discovery of America, Childhood of Buster
Keaton, and my favorite, Belshazzar s feast. Noted in each Contemporary style art
piece, Cvijanovic included landscape imagery. Each of Cvijanovic s pieces
contained visual feel, textural paint scheme, shadowing, and a bright color palette.
Belshazzar s feast appeared with deep hues of purple, dark shading, and the images
appeared to fade away in the distance. This monument was said to have been standing
sixteen feet tall, and consisted of nine separate panels. Belshazzar s feast appears to
contain a scene from ancient Babylon. I can conduct this from the realistic
appearance, and characteristics from the painting. Cvijanovic s technique for
acquiring such a large crowd on the scene is his technique of layering. The

Als Ice Bucket Challenge Research Paper
People who were on social media or watched the news will remember the ALS Ice
Bucket Challenge. This challenge involved two things; dumping a bucket of ice
water on your head and nominating other people to do the challenge. Most people
had no idea what ALS stands for, or what they even doing; they just wanted to be a
part of the trend. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was started when professional
golfer Chris Kennedy challenged his sister, Jeanette Senerchia in Pelham, New
York. Senerchia s husband has Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Senerchia
uploaded a video of her dumping ice water on her head to Facebook, and the trend
was born. When you dump the ice water over your head, for a split second, you are

neurological examination. If all other diseases are ruled out by completing these tests
and a neurologist feels as though you do have ALS, you are officially diagnosed with

The Importance Of Co-Presence In Radio Broadcasting
Radio broadcasting has become an influence in contemporary times as it is a way of
communication to a wider audience. Through radio broadcasting, we are introduced
to a variety of components, different music genres, currents events both locally and
internationally, competitions, free giveaways and live interactions between
presenters and listeners. However, it is the idea of co presence that is stimulated
through these components in which makes radio broadcastingexciting to listen to and
engage with. The realm of co presence within radio broadcast has defined how the
audience is actually listening to their preferred radio stations. In this essay will
discuss and break down concepts such as intimacy, liveness and the implied audience
that define the hegemony of co presence with in radio broadcastingas described by
Hugh Chignell s in his text, Key Concepts in Radio Studies (2009). This essay will
also be focusing on how the Mai FM breakfast show, Mai Mornings (2017), deliver
Chignell s concepts in order to understand the importance of co presence. Mai FM is
a hip hop and RnB station that is broadcasted all over New Zealand, and throughout
the radio station, Chignell s concepts are highlighted. Scholarly references will also
be included throughout to shape the argument.
Mai Mornings breakfast radio show and the overall show itself establishes a sense of

Dinosaur National Park and It s Geology
The mountains and rivers stretching between northern Utah and Colorado hold an
array of secrets from the ancient past. While the average tourist admiring the rocks,
fossils, and and cliffs of Dinosaur National Park may get the jist of the park, they
may not comprehend the extent to what it takes for this anomaly to form. Dinosaur
National Park is mostly known for not just it s beauty, but for it s large variety of
dinosaur fossils. Even though fossils are found all over the world, this park is
special due to the conditions that the dinosaur fossils came to be in one location of
its exquisite Carnegie Quarry. It was around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Its past occurrence is recognized by unusual patterns of drainage, changes in
accumulating sediment, and cyclic patterns of sediment deposition (Pederson 1).
( Figure 1. USGS National Geologic Map Database, Map of Dinosaur National
Park) The park was formed on a floodplain and there are many pieces of evidence
pointing to this. Some of the most stunning pieces of evidence are the red
mudstones found in the area. This can be very brightly colored, ranging from red,
maroon, or reddish brown, and its banding in the outcrop is visible from a great
distance. The reddish color suggests better drainage and therefore, a drier, more
oxidizing condition on the floodplain (Marano 1). In addition to other traits of the
sandstone, Morano explains These sandstones can be used to determine the
direction of flow , which would explain the why the expansive colored sandstones
are found extensively throughout the park (Marano 2). Most of the fossils you
will find will be in the channel sandstones because the dinosaurs were washed
together before being buried over, the Carnegie Quarry is an excellent example of
this. The Morrison formation overall is considered one of the best spots in the world
for finding dinosaur fossils due to the fact it was subject to the perfect environment
for creating fossils. This was a final destination for thousands of dinosaur fossils and
many more that have yet been excavated.

Essay on River in Siddhartha by Herman Hesse
River in Siddhartha by Herman Hesse
The river is a source of knowledge. It symbolises a teacher, a guru, one who knows
and is aware of this knowledge and who imparts it to those who seek knowledge
from it. In Herman Hesse s novella Siddhartha, the protagonist Siddhartha is deeply
mystified by the secrets and puzzles of the river. He seeks to unravel and them and
gain knowledge from the river in order to achieve his goal of attaining nirvana,
enlightenment. He is helped in his course by a ferryman Vasudeva, who has lived all
his life close to the river, transporting people from one side to the other. He too has
learnt a lot from the river. He helps Siddhartha in understanding the river and at
instances, clarifies his doubt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Vasudeva listens with intense concentration and attention. Vasudeva tells him The
river has taught........the other thing too . Vasudeva, being quite experienced about
the river, tells Siddhartha that he will definitely learn much from the river. He says
that Siddhartha had already learnt one thing about the river that it is good to seek,
to go into depth and this was very good. Vasudeva says The river knows everything
on pg 170. The river is a universal source of knowledge and it would impart
knowledge to Siddhartha since he whished to seek knowledge from it. It would also
teach him how to attain nirvana, that which he was so eager to attain.
In the end, after searching so much for nirvana, after living through so much,
Siddhartha attains salvation in front of the river. Vasudeva helps him to listen deeply
to the river after Siddhartha tells him everything, all that he felt, all his wounds, all
his sins. Hesse says
His wound was healing........belonging to the unity of all things on pg
199. Here, Hesse says that Siddhartha had finally attained nirvana, he had attained his
goal, and he had merged his Self into everything.
Siddhartha had become a very simple soul, a soul that was everything and not just one
thing. Siddhartha s final step in attaining enlightenment was listening to the river.
This shows that the river was the
The Adoration Of The Three Kings
The Adoration of the Three Kings
The Walter s Art Gallery exhibited numerous masterpieces of art and one of the
works of art that really caught my eye, was a painting titled, The Adoration of the
Three Kings . The painting was believed to have been commissioned and completed
between 1525 and 1530. The Adoration was painted by Italian artist, Girolamo da
Santacroce. In terms of who exactly commissioned this painting, I feel that it is very
hard to say, due to the lack of a signature or any other identifiable feature. A possible
telltale sign of who the commissioner of the painting could be are the two birds at the
bottom left corner of the painting. In this way the birds could act as some sort of
emblem that depicts who the commissioner of the painting was. Northern artists
almost always included emblems in there paintings; compared to Italians who almost
always included some sort of reference of who the commissioner was. I feel that this
painting would have been attractive to Northerner s because there are many elements
of this painting that are similar to elements that were often found in Northern
Renaissance paintings.
Northern Art often focused on the world at large; they rarely painted religious works
of art without including some sort of symbolism of the real world in there artworks.
In terms of the real world, in the context of this painting, I feel that the architecture
and the clothing take away from the religious focus. The clothing is very detailed and

Essay On Importance Of Vote

  • 1. Essay On Importance Of Vote Crafting an essay on the importance of voting presents a unique set of challenges that demand both analytical and persuasive skills. First and foremost, one needs to delve into the historical context, understanding the evolution of suffrage rights and the struggles faced by individuals and communities to attain the right to vote. This demands meticulous research to provide a comprehensive overview. The essay must also address the contemporary relevance of voting, discussing the impact of individual votes on the democratic process. This requires a thorough understanding of current political dynamics, policy implications, and the consequences of civic engagement or apathy. Navigating through the complex web of political ideologies and systems is no easy task, demanding clarity of thought and the ability to articulate ideas coherently. Additionally, the essay should incorporate statistical data and real-world examples to bolster its arguments, making it imperative to scour various sources for relevant information. This aspect of the essay requires not only research skills but also the ability to critically evaluate data to ensure accuracy and relevance. Furthermore, the persuasive element of the essay necessitates a deep understanding of human psychology and rhetoric. Effectively convincing the reader of the importance of voting involves appealing to their sense of civic duty, emphasizing the impact of individual actions on the collective well-being. The challenge lies in striking the right balance between informative content and persuasive techniques, ensuring the essay is not only factually sound but also engaging for the reader. Achieving coherence and flow in the narrative while seamlessly integrating diverse ideas requires careful planning and editing. In conclusion, writing an essay on the importance of voting demands a multifaceted approach, blending historical context, contemporary analysis, statistical evidence, and persuasive techniques. Navigating through this intricate web of information and ideas poses a formidable challenge, requiring a writer to wear multiple hats – that of a historian, political analyst, statistician, and rhetorician. It's a task that demands dedication, meticulous research, and a keen understanding of both the subject matter and the target audience. Despite its complexity, successfully crafting such an essay can be immensely rewarding as it contributes to fostering awareness about the fundamental democratic process. • 2. A Business Model Of Maximum Customer Satisfaction And... Tom Peters, in his video Radically Reengineering Business (BBC, 1993), got it right: The world was, indeed, getting crazy in the 1990 s, and it is getting even crazier. Dealership Service Departments everywhere, including my own, are no exception. In a short few years, we have gone from a business model of maximum sales per ticket (sometimes at any cost!) to a model of maximum customer satisfaction and retention. While manufacturers have been singing the Retention song for what seems like forever, some dealer groups and franchise owners have not yet fully bought into this long term type of thinking. Therefore, by necessity, Service Managers everywhere must rapidly adjust their own plans as their General Managers flip flop between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example of this is in the development of a new strategy for our Express department. One of the ways our dealership has managed to maintain over 100% net customer retention versus the Units in Operation in our marketing area is by offering a convenient Express Lube department. While Express Lube has always struggled to make a profit, its very existence, by allowing inexpensive and quick oil changes to happen for thousands of customers every month, has ensured that our showroom is provided with hundreds of potential customers every day, with as many as 5% of these customers coming to our store for the first time. The efficiency of our Express operation relative to that of our same brand competitors has, in part, contributed to the continued growth of our new car department where we now enjoy a nearly two to one lead in retail new vehicle sales in our Zone, and a market share that the other dealers in our Zone can only dream about. Nevertheless, amidst the already hyper competitive environment we work in, a massive change is coming over which we have no control: The switch to a one year oil change. Starting for the 2016 model year vehicles, all Toyota oil change intervals will go from 8,000km or six months, to 16,000km or 12 months. Suddenly, doing a great job at oil changes will no longer suffice
  • 3. The Benefits Of Water Fluoridation Water fluoridation was first implemented in the USA in 1945 and since then there are around 25 countries in the world that receive fluoridated water and around 10% of the UK population. Fluoridation schemes started when a significant association of fluoride and lower incidence of tooth decays was noticed, in naturally occurring fluoridated areas with 1mg/L of fluoride. Therefore, fluoride has been added where needed, in order to obtain the optimal concentration of around 1mg/L. This concentration is determined the optimal, as it is where the public gets the maximum prevention of dental caries with the minimum adverse effects. In the UK, Birmingham was the first city that introduced fluoridation and it was estimated that between 1970 and 1980,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... About 50% of ingested fluoride is excreted through urine within 24 hours (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Various factors may affect its bioavailability, for instance when it is ingested with food it delays its absorption. The solubility and the complex formulation may also reduce the extent of absorption. Unbounded free ions of fluoride are distributed via the circulation throughout the intracellular and extracellular body fluids with volume of distribution of 0.5 0.7 L/kg (WHO 2000). Plasma concentration is affected by the renal status and urinary pH, for example people with low glomerular filtration rate have increased plasma fluoride concentration, thus increased levels of fluoride in tissues and consequently are more susceptible to fluorosis (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Excretion may also occur through faeces and sweat. The remaining amount deposits and retains in bones and teeth, where it incorporates into the crystal network. Bone retention reflects long term exposure to fluoride and is affected by the factors such as age, sex and type of bone. Young children with growing bones have much higher retention of fluoride compared to adults. Fluoride may also be released back to the circulation when bones are remodeled, therefore plasma levels switch according to this exchange between bones and circulation. It is also released

The main purposes of media are to entertain and to inform. Television, newspapers/magazines, adverts and the internet are the most well known forms of media. Trailers are designed to advertise the film, giving a good impression in a small amount of time so that people will either go to see the film, or buy the film, hence making money for the people involved. The trailers chosen were Charlie s Angles Full Throttle and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines . They were chosen because they had a large appeal and both used a wide range of presentation techniques. The genres of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The majority of the audience is the same as the genre of the film science fiction. I know this because it shows elements usually found in science fiction films such as robots. The fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger would be interested by the trailer because it shows him in a lot of the shots, has his name written boldly across one of the stills, and he is famous for his rolls as the terminator. It shows many exciting parts of the film, showing many explosions, lots of gunfire and a great deal of fighting. This would appeal to the action loving audience. Also, there is a shot of an attractive naked woman walking across the road, which would attract a male audience. The trailers both use different aspects of the film to advertise it. The Charlie s Angels trailer plays more on humour and sex appeal, for example the sorry I broke your stick scene, whereas Terminator 3 uses the plot and the action to attract people. I think the audience for Charlie s Angels is mainly female or young boys, whereas with Terminator 3 I think the trailer would appeal to an older audience, possibly more male than female. Both trailers have a certain sex appeal. This shows that a sexual element in films attracts a lot of people. The purpose of all trailers is to advertise the film and attract

  • 6. Review Of The Crucible Kristina Garcia Mrs. Herrera English III December 11, 2016 What is Corruption? Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today s society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through the political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during what we know as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in witch like activities, who begin to accuse others of committing witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. One girl controls the group, Abigail Williams, and she plots against Elizabeth Proctor who is married to John Proctor, who Abigail had an affair with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls, half the townspeople were taken to trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the devil and were sentenced to hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their mistake about the accusations, which turned out to be false. Political

The Nomination Process For A Site The nomination process for a site to be considered on the World Heritage List is comprised of five steps, which include the tentative list, nomination file, advisory bodies, World Heritage Committee, and criteria for selection. The tentative list is where a country makes an inventory of all cultural and natural heritages within the site s boundaries. This tentative list may be submitted for inscription for the next five to ten years, and can be updated at any time. This step needs to take place before the World Heritage Committee can consider a site for inscription on the World Heritage. The nomination file includes all necessary documentation and maps of the site. This nomination can then be submitted to the World Heritage Centre for review. Once complete the file can then be sent to the appropriate Advisory Bodies for evaluation. There are two Advisory Bodies. Both of which evaluate a site that is being nominated, and include the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the World Conservation Union (IUCN). These committees provide evaluations on a site. There is a third Advisory Body known as the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). This last group provides expert advice as to the conservation of cultural sites, along with training activities. The World Heritage Committee will then make a final decision on whether a site will receive an inscription. This committee meets once a

They promote a film and present it to the target audience, in order to encourage them to watch the film. Trailers also give the audience expectations of the film. The audience like to know what to expect of a film before they go and see it. The audience is given a taste of the story and the basic plot. This is done by showing an array of clips that are edited to a certain degree. The trailer normally ends with a cliff hanger . The following image is of the DreamWorks logo. This is a Steven Spielberg company with a credible reputation. This is a distribution company. A dramatic drumbeat is heard at the start of the opening image which tells us instantly the genre of the film, an epic war film. This is because a heavy drumbeat is a reminiscent of battle. The first actual shot of the trailer is of the words THE GENERAL is then shown in bold whit capital letters. I t stands out upon the black background. The words move back and eventually fade into the background. At the beginning of this shot the music builds up, trumpets now accompany the drums. This gives out a sense of defiance and strength. The audience associates this with war and battle. This next shot is a mid shot of a man walking boldly with his head up high. He is walking through lines of soldiers in big strides. He is also dressed in armour, so we assume he is the general. The general has a stern, solemn expression he seems secure and confident. Who was I? What was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually recurred, but I was unable to solve them (Mary Shelley s Frankenstein). Mary Shelley s book, Frankenstein, parallels her own experiences. Shelley s mother died in childbirth, and she was left dependent on none and related to none. Her father, William Godwin, abandoned his daughter emotionally when he remarried a woman who treated Mary poorly. Shelley often searched for an understanding of who she was. Clare and Shelley both use negative diction, juxtaposing extreme terminology within the same sentence, and long, rambling sentences within their writings. John Clare and Mary Shelley s use of similar stylistic devices illustrates how loneliness makes one turn to death, either suicidal or murderous, due to humans innate need to be connected to others; without a connection, isolation creates insurmountable suffering. Diction: Clare, the author of I am, and Shelley, the author of Frankenstein, both use despondent diction to represent the agony of loneliness; ultimately forewarning the reader that without love, one s existence is lifeless and leads to doom and destruction. When Shelley uses terms like catastrophe or wretch to describe the creation of the monster, she refers to the physical appearance of the creature, and the emotional turmoil of Victor Frankenstein and the creature, as well. The monster is abandoned by Frankenstein due to his hideous stature. Shelley plays with contrasts such as the creature s mouth, whose teeth are pearly white but whose lips are black . The eyes, which ironically are the windows to man s emotions, are colorless. The hair is lustrous , almost sensual, but the complexion is shrivelled , like an elderly man on his death bed. She juxtaposes Victor s arrogance of having the brilliance to create a gift reserved to G d, with his deliverance of the devil. When Shelley says that the skin scarcely covers

The pilot is killed but the many boys that survive the crash, find themselves on a deserted island with no supervision. The author uses Jack who is one of the main characters as the dictator and one of the authority figures. Therefore, Jack has total control of people who follow him. Jacks rebellious actions were cruel and unacceptable. An example of that is when he killed Simon with his group because they didn t even bother to look if he is the monster or not. In the story Jack s group is stronger and Ralph s is weaker which leads to a lot of conflicts and lives being taken. An example of dictatorship is when Simon finds out that the captain is dead and tries to go tell the other boys but, they follow him and killhim cruelly. Another example is when Piggy was talking and trying to tell the groups that they should unite or they might be stuck on that island forever, one of the former members of Jack s group kicked down a huge piece of rock which hit Piggy and took his life. Therefore, I agree with William Goldingbecause I think that dictatorship is cruel and should not be tolerated because it can lead to people losing their lives and the country to being in
  • 13. Why Is It Important To Engage Young People In... Young people bring a new perspective to the concept of leadership. Their age suggests limitations to what is seen as conventional markers of leadership, however they still have the ability to lead or influence others within a given context. Freire argues that knowledge gained from living experience should not be rejected or valued less than developed knowledge. Living experience plays a valid part in understanding the larger context. Young people may not understand the complexities of the democratic system and broader contexts, but this does not invalidate their worldview and living experience of how the decisions made impact them. Moreover, their living experience brings detail and richness to the decision making process. However, young people can be easily marginalized in the decision making processes, largely due to the lack of legal standing when under the age of eighteen. Young people who are unable to vote are largely left to other measures such as protests and petitions (Freire). Empowerment is, therefore, critical to the participation for them to become active in the context and power relationships they are involved in. Think about it, surgeons and doctors are meant to keep you safe and if they can t do their job, why do it at all? Of course, back then they didn t have the technology that we have today and saving lives was harder than now. Although that is why it was so important to have the best of the best surgeons and doctors, this was their livelihood on the stakes! What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it (24,Orwell). This quote shows that the party used children to spy on their parents and other individuals. Technology is good for us but it has been exploited in so many different negative ways that it would be better if we did not have electronics because we would still have our privacy. V for Vendetta uses similar tactics as us and 1984 to keep a close eye on the people of the nation. In the movie, they used cameras, telescreens, taped phones, fingermen, etc. as surveillance tools to

  • 18. Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress 4 Essay Storytelling can be found in every corner of the world. It is used to pass the time, tell of past or current events, and is the way that we communicate with each other. In Balzac and the little Chinese Seamstress, by Dai Sijie, storytelling occurs during times of hopelessness when life seems hard and allows the characters to live vicariously through the tales told. The narrator and Luo use storytelling as an escape from reality in times of desperation. The tailor is influenced by the stories to the point where he changes the style of clothinghe creates to escape the boundaries of Mao approved clothing. They wanted to escape the reality of the conditions they were living under to experience the same freedoms as their favorite characters, and not be burdened by the controlling power of Mao and his communist ways. The tailor finds another way to escape the controlling grip of Mao. On his customary tour of the villages before the New Year, the tailor decides to stay with Luo and the narrator while working in their village. In the first chapter of The Pearl , Juana seemed to be a strong maternal character. She seemed very brave and strong. However, as the story unfolded, her character turned out to be weaker than she seemed to be at the start. Juana falls behind Kino s shadow. The impression Juana gave in the beginning of the story was that she was brave and strong. She risked her life by sucking out the scorpion s poison from Coyotito s shoulder. ...she was like a strong man. (7; ch. 1). Reading the first few chapters, I believed that Juana was really someone strong, someone who would have a voice. As I continued reading onto the next chapters, I was proved completely wrong. It will destroy us...Throw it away, Kino. Let us break it between stones. Let us bury it and forget the place. Let us throw it back into the sea. It has brought evil. Kino, my husband, it will destroy us...Even our son. (38 39, ch. 3) Juana kept telling Kino about how the pearl was evil. She told him twice and you can tell she was very emotional about it because she cried as she said those words. Kino never listened to her and refused to obey what she told him. If Juana was really a stronger character, Kino might have listened or at least thought about obeying her rather than immediately going against her point. I believe that this shows how Kino is more superior to Juana, hence why I believe that she falls behind his

The Canadian justice system is the mechanism that bears on the principle of the rule of law (English Magna Carta issued by King John in 1215). The aspect of the rule of law in Canada is that all people are subjected to the law; that no single person, no matter how important or powerful, is above the law and that the rule of law should be respected and applied equally(Griffiths p. 5). The principles of rule of law in Canada can be identified in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which administers the protection of individuals and ensures fairness during all legal proceeding (Graffiths p.6). • 21. The Fallacy of Nonsense Essay The Fallacy of Nonsense Lewis Carroll was a professor of logic, writing among his well known works of fiction, treatises on the subject of logic and even a textbook, Symbolic Logic. It is the function of logic to classify and formulate fallacious forms of argument as well as valid ones. (Burks 367) So is it some of the functions of Carroll s tales of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Presenting different puzzles, riddles, or what appears to be on the surface nonsense, Carroll in these books present many questions of logic and indirectly their solutions, challenging the ability of the reader to believe what has been presented. All his nonsensical puzzles can be either proved or disproved using some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Carroll may have chosen to use this particular example to demonstrate a fallacy due to the fact that the reader already knows that Alice is not a serpent, leaving it to logic to prove why. Another fallacy is presented in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland at the mad tea party. On the two propositions I say what I mean and I mean what I say, (Carroll A/T 61) Alice concludes equivalence, applying the symbolic logic rule of conversion. Translated into a form which can be applied, the first proposition becomes All I say is what I mean , notated All S is M , by definition a universal proposition. The second, assumedly a conversion of the first, is translated All I mean is what I say and is notated All M is S , also a universal proposition. However, the conversion is invalid, because a universal proposition converts to a particular proposition. The valid conversion would be All S is M to Some M is S , or Some of what I mean is what I say , according to the symbolic rules of conversion. (Copi 194) Now it is clear that the two propositions are not necessarily equivalent, and the following propositions as stated by the Mad Hatter, I see what I eat [and] I eat what I see, the March Hare, I like what I get [and] I get what I like, and the Dormouse, I breathe when I sleep [and] I sleep when I breathe (Carroll A/T 61) are inferentially invalid, and allowedly so considering this demonstration of a fallacy. By definition, tangible representations pertain to objects and photographs or pictures that can be considered as highly iconic, or strongly resembling what they stand for, called the referent (Bruce et al., 2016, p. 425). Moreover, tangible representations can be employed expressively or receptively. Bruce et al. (2016) reviewed studies on literacy for the deaf blind from 1990 to 2015. Findings showed the role of tangible representations and technologies in improving communicative expressiveness. Furthermore, different kinds of literacy lessons that are normally given to prelinguistic learners who are deafblind can improve self expression. Some examples are: 1) using daily schedules to form anticipatory skills; 2) personalized story boxes to boost access and engagement with content; 3) experience books that enable the development of distancing (i.e. separation in time and space between the object of representation and the referent), and 4) chances for choice making to perform preference expression (Bruce Conlon, 2005). For effective lessons, learners must be in a setting that promotes literacy growth. As McKenzie (2009) pointed out, an environment that is rich in plentiful literacy resources will benefit all kinds of learners, with or without disabilities. It was difficult to obtain enough hide to clothe an entire village so some members had very little clothing at all and almost no one had more than one set of clothing (Carlson, 1998). This scarcity caused Plains Indians to reduce the use of their clothing by going naked in the warmer seasons in hopes of prolonging its use (Kaye, 1987). Most women wore dresses made out of lighter weight deerskin, sometimes with thin pants made out of deerskin or buffalo hide. Women spun and wove fibers made from flax and other wheat to make the inside of theses hides softer (Carlson, 1998). The act of adorning personal items with dyed porcupine quills is an ancient Native American art form predominantly used by the Plains Indian tribes before the introduction of glass beads. This method of decoration has long been a part of Plains Indian culture as archaeologists have discovered quill working tools dating back to the 6th century (Neuman, 1960). In King s mind, the issue with war and violence is that it attacks those individuals who have been susceptible to evil, rather than the evil itself. King believes that the struggle should be against the evil forces, and not those who he describes as being caught in those forces. During King s earlier years, he thought that nonviolence was only useful in the context of group conflicts within nations. Later, as he delved deeper into the nonviolent philosophy of Gandhi, and how it worked in the struggle for independence of India, he expanded this belief in nonviolent conflict resolution to an international scale as well. Nonviolence aligns with the principle of love that King lives by, and violence stands directly against it. King also associates violence with hatred and bitterness, and believes that responding to one wrong with another succeeds only in intensifying the hatred that exists in the world. He even makes the point that due to the rapid technological developments of immensely destructive weapons, war is an increasingly dangerous endeavor and that the result of all out warfare today would be only mutual destruction. • 40. Understanding Of Fidelity Research As A Comprehensive... Purpose The primary purpose for this document is to establish a shared foundational understanding of fidelity research as it pertains to the Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) model and create shared language for related concepts. Overview City Year has established the importance of fidelity, or program integrity, by including it in the FY12 Highest Priority Goals (HPG #1d). Fidelity has many nuances for a program being implemented in so many locations by so many providers with variable local conditions. Due to this complexity, we will reframe it to focus on it as uniformity of purpose and effort. Rather than passively attempting to conform to the model and not understanding it in within the local context, every individual who supports design and implementation must deepen their knowledge of what the value drivers, or core components, are within the model so that they can make reasonable decisions when a local challenge or suboptimal condition emerges. The following briefing outlines key concepts, assets and milestones in building a comprehensive approach to increasing quality of implementation through decreasing unnecessary variability and complexity. The goals of the initial discovery phase include: Establish shared language around fidelity, as well as clear, concise, reliable and valid measures Clarify the list of comprehensive core components within the WSWC model Identify acceptable adaptation types that address local contextual differences and develop examples

A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more components, one liquid, and one dissolved solid or solids. The amount of the solid introduced in the solution is known as the concentration. Solubility is the property of a concentration to dissolve into a solution, describing how well it dissolves in different temperatures and masses. Conclusion In conclusion, from this experiment, we can say our hypothesis was not valid. We reject the hypothesis because in the recording of immediate results, our solution reached temperatures much less than 70В° Celsius and yet no crystallization began. The solution showed no signs of crystal growth at the predicted temperature, however, did ultimately crystalize under a much lower temperature. Our results may have been impacted by the faulty thermometer and the insulation using the Styrofoam cup. As our cooling rate is slightly slower, our seed crystal formed more individual crystals, similar in size, rather than hundreds of very fine crystals. Our crystal grew from the seed crystal and also from the bottom of the beaker. The seed crystal allowed the Copper Sulfate ions to attach to it, growing outward as the solution stabilized. Crystals also formed on the bottom of the beaker as the concentration was not fully dissolved, settling to the bottom of the beaker. To improve the experiment, we could have used a better thermometer to record the appropriate data. We also should have heated the solution further to ensure the concentration of Copper Sulfate was

( Figure 1. USGS National Geologic Map Database, Map of Dinosaur National Park) The park was formed on a floodplain and there are many pieces of evidence pointing to this. Some of the most stunning pieces of evidence are the red mudstones found in the area. This can be very brightly colored, ranging from red, maroon, or reddish brown, and its banding in the outcrop is visible from a great distance. The reddish color suggests better drainage and therefore, a drier, more oxidizing condition on the floodplain (Marano 1). In addition to other traits of the sandstone, Morano explains These sandstones can be used to determine the direction of flow , which would explain the why the expansive colored sandstones are found extensively throughout the park (Marano 2). Most of the fossils you will find will be in the channel sandstones because the dinosaurs were washed together before being buried over, the Carnegie Quarry is an excellent example of this. In terms of who exactly commissioned this painting, I feel that it is very hard to say, due to the lack of a signature or any other identifiable feature. A possible telltale sign of who the commissioner of the painting could be are the two birds at the bottom left corner of the painting. In this way the birds could act as some sort of emblem that depicts who the commissioner of the painting was. Northern artists almost always included emblems in there paintings; compared to Italians who almost always included some sort of reference of who the commissioner was. I feel that this painting would have been attractive to Northerner s because there are many elements of this painting that are similar to elements that were often found in Northern Renaissance paintings. Northern Art often focused on the world at large; they rarely painted religious works of art without including some sort of symbolism of the real world in there artworks.
