Taking a Look at Embraer
1.Perform a brief SWOT analysis of Embraer.
A SWOT analysis is a structured planning method used in order to evaluate the strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats involved in a project as well as in a business venture.
Strength (S)
The Embraer was created in1969 by a military government. It hold several strengths in manners
that it strategically placed as well as being advantageous in having smaller and less costly jets, not
forgotten their structure of production that plays a role in being competitively advantageous. It was
located in San Jose dos Campos in Sao Paulo or simply known as Technology Valley , consisting of
industrial cluster in aerospace telecommunication, auto mobile and petroleum sector. It was what
that gave Embraer distinctive competency areas to run their R D, design, product development,
system integration, and assembly as well as technical assistance in aircraft manufacturing.
Aside from having a strategic place, Embraer holds a competitive advantage by having jets
which are smaller in size and are less costly. By introducing a 35 seat ERJ 135 and 50 seat ERJ
145, Embraer was able to meet increasing demand for jets that replaces their turboprop model. The
production structure is also one of the mentioned strengths. Their network consists of three levels
by which risk partners or strategic partners at the first level carries most innovation and risk
endeavors and operate based on a long term contract. The second level is their

Write An Essay On Guy Dennings
As a learning artist, I always search for others who share the idea that art is more than what lies on
a picture plane. One artist, in particular, has drawn my attention since I was young and he is a self
taught artist named Guy Dennings. While taking the hearts of thousands of others with his various
media that range from pastel on newsprint to Conte crayon on paper; he has also captured my
imagination with these emotional creations.
Guy Dennings was born in England on October 1965. As a young boy, he started out oil paintingat
the age of 10 and soon moved on to applying to many art colleges. He was refused entry but didn t
give up hope and pursued an art education by studying art history. After received his degree he
continued with many different jobs and finally in 1997 he founded the neomodern group. In 2006,
his work appeared in the Triumph of Stuckism exhibition and the very next year he ... Show more

By conveying that strong sense of emotional elements, Denning tries to bring topics to the attention
of society. The content of these paintings hides dark subjects that Dennings believes should be
known to modern day society. Subjects such as insecurities to celebrity culture and even the way
doctors treat mental health are just some of the many problems Denning believes haunts the very
souls of the people. Dennings wants to spark controversy to try and challenge the minds and pull
the attention to the way he perceives contemporary events.
I love Dennings because of his passion to express his opinion freely. Through such powerful
masterpieces, he is able to hide such deep emotional content and portray it to thousands of
people.Dennings has inspired me and many artists to follow their passion and to lean away from
the norms of society. I love his use of colors to portray immense

Dog Breaks Out 1000 lb Sled
In Dawson at a bar, Eldorado Saloon, on January 15, 1898 at 3:00 pm, a sled dog named Buck
broke out a sled weighing 1000 lb. He had to pull it an exhilarating 100 yards.
Three men were arguing about how much their sled dogs could break out. Then a man named John
Thorton who owns Buck jumps into the conversation.
That s not a lot compared to how much Buck here can start. He said indiscreetly.
Right then the bet was on. Buck had to break out a 1000 lb sled and pull it a 100 yard for $1000
dollars.
You re crazy to think that this is a huge exploit you know. But, I ll make it worthwhile and say that

Zinnia Labor Agreement Case Study
Successful negotiation is not about getting to yes ; it s about mastering no and understanding the
path to an agreement is (Christopher Voss). During the negotiation process, there are a lot of
moving parts and personalities. In addition, hurt feelings can all too often get in the way. The
bottom line of any negotiation is to reach a settlement that will mutually benefit both parties. It s a
challenging situation by which compromise or agreement is reached while attempting to avoid
arguments and disputes. The Zinnia Labor Agreement Project was an insightful learning simulation.
It was interesting, frustrating, and a unique experience. The project required keeping an open mind
and approaching the simulation with an integrative approach. However, all parties involved in the
negotiation process must take into consideration this same approach. Additionally, trust between
management and labor union is beneficial. Trust can be a slippery thing when it comes to
negotiating. Considering the reason management enters into negotiation with the other side of the
table (labor union) is because there s the hope of reaching a deal, ultimately trust is one of the
things that s going to allow both sides to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Oesophageal Cancer Essay
1.1.0 Cancer, a global health problem
Cancer is an important global health issue which affects millions of people annually and burdens
national health systems. Despite modest reductions in the incidence of certain cancer types, overall
the prevalence of cancer is increasing worldwide (1). It has been estimated that approximately 14.1
million people were diagnosed with cancer, in 2012 (2). The increase in cancer incidence is
attributed to various causes such as the increase in population age as well as daily life habits which
include obesity, poor diet, smoking and alcohol consumption (1).
Oesophageal cancer is the eighth most common cancer and the sixth highest cause of cancer
related mortality. Oesophageal cancer results in high fatality rates, with a calculated 400,200
deaths out of 455,800 cases in 2012 (3). The five year survival rate for oesophageal cancer is
shockingly low at 12 15% (4). The poor survival is thought to be due to late diagnosis of the
disease, invasiveness of surgery and a lack of targeted therapies. Importantly, oesophageal cancer...

Essay on Dupont Divestiture
DuPont s Divestiture of Conoco| Analysis of the Merger| |
DuPont began life in 1802, as a gunpowder manufacturer supplying the US Army under President
Thomas Jefferson. The company had a long tradition of technological innovations in business and it
continues to serve worldwide markets including food and nutrition; health care; agriculture; fashion
and apparel; home and construction; and electronics. Among some of its inventions are nylon
stockings invented in 1939, Teflon for pans, Kevlar for bullet proof vests, stainmaster for carpets,
the synthetic fabric lycra, and Dacron for clothing. In 1999 the company held a portfolio of 2000

In order to make the second stage completely tax free DuPont had to satisfy a number of IRS rules
and regulations. These rules stated that DuPont had to control Conoco immediately before the split
off, meaning that it had to control at least 80% of Conoco s stock. In addition the split had to be
motivated by a valid business purpose. Also DuPont had to get rid of all Conoco stock so it
would not have any control over the company after the deal was completed. Conoco had to be
recapitalized or reorganized into two classes of common stock. Class A stock that carried one
vote each, issued to the public and Class B stock with five votes each, retained by DuPont for
later disbursement to DuPont shareholders in the exchange offer. Prior to the IPO, Conoco would
have to issue a $7.5 billion promissory note to DuPont as a dividend. The payment would be tax
free to both parties because at the time DuPont owned all of Conoco. Conoco would in turn, use the
proceeds to pay back part of the note and other intercompany notes with DuPont.
While I do agree with the Chief Operating Officer that a 100% IP of Conoco would raise a
significant amount of cash to use in our core business growth internationally, allowing us to expand
our global operations. I think the equity care out

financing the accounts receivable. There was the fear that the bills of some of the smaller stores
carrying the game would be difficult to collect since R amp;R was not having the resources to
follow up closely on its collections. So they decided to use Heller Factoring to check credit,
guarantee payment, collect the money and pay Trivia Inc. all for a fee of 1% over sales. * Kaplan

and paper supplies in short notice * Swiss colony solved the problem of shipping for which Reiss
was a long time consultant * JIT basis was used by Trivia Inc. to make all its suppliers send the

Desmond Doss Character Analysis
Desmond Doss performed bravely in his first battle, as well as in the countless battles that
followed. Though strongly discouraged by sergeants, captains, and medical officers, he would
continually go on patrol with his platoon; any other man would never have thought to do so
when given just one logical reason not to. He never faltered in treating his comrades, nor did he
ever leave a man to die when there was a chance, even a slight one, at saving him. In another
battle, this time on the island of Leyte, Doss darted straight into an open area alive with sniper
fire to rescue a wounded man calling for help. After successfully and slowly dragging the soldier
back to the retaining wall, he was told that he had been the target of a sniper during his entire
rescue mission. One of the sergeants told him, Doss, we expected to see you killed any second.
We couldn t shoot the sniper without killing our own men, and he had his machine gun aimed
right at you. Didn t you see him? It was reported years later that a former Japanese soldier sitting
on the back row of a church where an Adventist missionary had been preaching Doss s story told a

Gaming Disorder Research Paper
Many shootings have been happening, as well releases of popular violent video games. Most
every teen plays video games, and goes to the store to get the new video game, usually they are
dying to get. Some might not even stop playing until they win. The teens who are playing these
video games are getting careless, they don t even know that some video games trigger mass
shootings. Additionally, teens have been very aggressive as well as the video games affecting the
brain, which could also lead to a gaming disorder .
The teens should not be playing these violent video games due to them being aggressive during
and after play. Studies are proving teens are getting way too aggressive either at home or out in

The disorder is affecting them in a physical behavior. The author remarks that International

Gabby more specifically thought the piglet on the concrete would decompose first because it is left
in the sun. She thought the sun combined with the bugs would increase the rate of decomposition. If
a piglet was left suspended it could be placed in the shade and less bugs would reach it. Laney
thought, Yes, it might decompose slower because everything goes to the head instead of staying in
the original areas, or since everything goes to the head it might just decompose mostly in the head
and everything fall out .
Another question that we put a theory to was, Does a piglet decompose faster if it is on the grass
/dirt versus being on the cement? I, Allison, thought a piglet on the grass would decompose faster
than on the cement. Gabby thought it was more likely for decomposition to occur faster on grass
because there are more bugs in the grass. Laney also agreed the piglets on the grass would
decompose faster because bugs could reach the body faster and help with decomposition. By
remaining on the cement, bugs would not be attracted to it as

In Carr s personal experience, he explains that he missed the sense of control and involvement they
had given me the ability to rev the engine as high as I wanted, the feel of the clutch releasing and
the gears grabbing, the tiny thrill that came with a downshift at speed (5 6). The automatic vehicle
effectively made driving much easier but took away the driver s need to work hard. As the
development of the automatic car makes driving extremely easier, taking away a stress factor
causes a drift in the mind and a lack of focus on the current tasks at hand. Carr presents this idea in
the development of autopilots in airplanes. The autopilot in the airplane by technicality flies the
plane instead of the human pilot. In emergency situations, the pilot will be given and take upon
manual control of the plane to attend to situations that autopilot is not prepared to handle. What
causes this to fail is not the computer controlling the plane but the human pilot takeover. In specific
cases when planes have crashed, the autopilots were not aware of the situation during the takeover
because their focus of the task had drifted. Carr quotes Hermant Bhana that, As automation has
gained in sophistication, the role of the pilot has shifted toward becoming a monitor or supervisor
of the automation. The commercial pilot has become a computer operator (53).

method of limiting the press in some nations, but it usually unconstitutional in the United States

For example, college students will most likely be given more restrictions compared to official

Advantages Of Montessori Teaching Method
What is the best way to teach children? This is a question that people have been asking since they
began teaching. There are a plethora of teaching methods that have been tried and used throughout
history. Each method claims to be the best, but can they be supported through a Christian world
view? The Montessori teaching method teaches children to be independent and teach themselves.
While large or whole group instruction feeds on the child s sheep like nature in following what
their peers are doing and teaches every student the same lesson at the same time. Montessori and

children, empowered with the freedom to choose how they would spend their time in school, would

The Fall Of Singapore
The Fall of Singapore to the Japanese happened on the 15th February 1942 and is thought to be
one of the greatest defeats in the entire history of the British Army and most likely Britain s
worst defeat in all of World War 2. Singapore was considered to be a major part of the British
Empire and it was thought to be as strong as a fortress. Improvement s to Singapore as a British
military base had only been completed in 1938, a mere 4 years before the fall of Singapore. On
the 8th February 1942, the Japanese attacked across the Johor Strait. Many of the Allied fighters
were simply too far away to have any influence on the battle as they were spread out along the
112 kilometer coastline. They were also kept away from the battle as it was feared that the
Japanese would make another attack further along the coastline. The Japanese took 100,000 men
prisoner in Singapore, of which 9,000 died. It was on the 15th February 1942 on which General

The General Theory Of Crime
Historically, criminologists have separately studied the pattern and causes of criminal offending
and the pattern and causes of victimization (Piquero et al., 2005, p.55). This began to change when
criminologists recognized a strong relationship between offending and victimization. Scholars argue
that this relationship can be explained by a common underlying trait of low self control.
Gottfredson and Hirschi first introduced low self control as an explanation of offending in the
General Theory of Crime, and more recent studies have applied the theory to victimization. In this
paper, we will first discuss Gottfredson and Hirschi s General Theory of Crime as it applies to
criminality. Then, we will review the literature to see how their... Show more content on

They also tend to engage in analogous criminal acts such as smoking, drinking, gambling,
irresponsible sex, and speeding in cars. In households where children are cared for and
appropriately disciplined, those children develop the self control needed, through socialization, to
resist the easy temptations offered by crime. This early developmental process is key in setting the
stage for later life. (McMurtry Curling, 2008)
Gottfredson and Hirschi strayed from Hirschi s previous theory that social control protected
people from participating in criminal activities in favor of the conception that self control, or
lack thereof, could be used to explain criminal behavior. According to the general theory of
crime, crime occurs through the following process: (1) an impulsive personality to (2) lack of
self control to (3) the withering of social bonds to (4) the opportunity to commit crime and
delinquency to (5) deviant behavior. Gottfredson and Hirschi suggest that those who engage in
crime do so to obtain immediate gratification. People with a propensity for criminal involvement
are said to lack self control, or the ability to delay short term desires. Theorists state that this lack
of self control can be traced back to early childhood when early indications of deviant behavior
emerge. For those with low self control, participation in deviant behavior continues

Overview Of Lucrece And Titus Andronicus
In many ways, Shakespeare writes Rome from an anthropomorphized perspective, with some of his
characters so much an embodiment of the culture that one may argue it is direct representation. In
Shakespeare s Lucrece and Titus Andronicus, the protagonists represent the current culture of
Rome, it is their respective deaths that signify the birth of a new Rome. Contrarily, the antagonists
in the aforementioned tales actually seem to manifest as an anti Rome, their distinct lack of the
upheld roman attributes lead to their downfall. For this reason, Rome is argued by many to be a
character in and of itself in Shakespeare s various works. Rome is a character that speaks only

Sextus Tarquinius is already a powerful figure in Rome, he uses this to his advantage when
asking Lucrece for lodgings. As an upstanding member of Roman society, Lucrece assumes that
this man is safe. His dishonour is shown most predominantly however when he confidently
attempts to manipulate Lucrece by insisting that her lack of compliance will culminate in her
husband s shame. He tells her, ...some worthless slave of thine I ll slay, / To kill thine honour

selling slaves to grow sugar plantations on the islands the country owned along the Indian Ocean.
Brazil also brought African slaves for assistance in sugar plantations. By the eighteenth century

The Role Of Perfectionism In Eating Disorders
When perfectionist behaviour can be considered as a state that is under conscious control, it can
be deemed as merely a healthy desire to excel (Eusanio, Thomson, and Jaque, 2014). However, if
perfectionism is a personality trait, it cannot be consciously controlled and has been proven to
show positive correlations with mental illness such as anxiety and depression (Enns and Cox,
2002, cited in Stoeber, Otto, and Dalbert, 2009b). Self oriented perfectionism in dancers and a fear
of failure can lead to injury, depression, and other psychological disorders such as anxiety and
possible eating disorders (Eusanio, Thomson, and Jaque, 2014).
Perfectionism in dancers tends to be considered a common personality type, as they are often

however, they state this may be due to the lack of severely injured dancers in the study. Therefore,
the result may have been different if there were more dancers involved in the research suffering
from long term injuries. Additionally, Nordin Bates, et al., (2011) may have received different
results had state self esteem been measured rather than trait self esteem, which is considered as
generally being more stable

Conodoguinet Creek Research Paper
Is the Conodoguinet Creek Polluted?!
The Conodoguinet Creek is a creek that runs 90 miles long from Carlisle to the Susquehanna River.
The Susquehanna River is located in West Fairview. Now the question is, is the Conodoguinet
Creek polluted? Pollution is caused by smoke in the air from big metal companies and fertilizers
from farmers. Acid rain takes that smoke and fertilizers and rains into the ground and into
waterways. That pollution can kill the organisms living in that waterway. My hypothesis is that the
Conodoguinet Creek will not be polluted. Some things that will tell us if it is polluted or not is
tests, scales, rocks, macroinvertebrates, and the velocity of the water. Is this acid damaging the

Essay on Pope John Paul Xiii Impact on Christianity
Pope John XXIII played a vital role in shaping Christianity as we know it today. He contributed
socially, politically and liturgically and was a major influence in the establishment of ecumenism
and interfaith dialogue between other churches and religions. He advocated Christian unity, social
justice, human rights and the promotion of world peace, and his openness to all people led to him
obtaining the name Good Pope John .
The early life of Pope John XXIII shaped his morality and future ideas, and his travelling made
him tolerant towards other people, cultures and beliefs. He believed that No one is excluded by
love and pursued this belief throughout is papacy, even visiting prisons in order to forgive those
who had sinned, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did Pope John XXIII improve relationships between Christian variants but he also
increased the dialogue between other religions, especially seeking to repair relations with the
Jews who were blamed for Jesus death. A more positive view of non Catholics Christians and of
other religions was encouraged as Pope John XXIII believed that if there was no dialogue between
them and Catholics, then all doors would be closed.
Pope John XXIII was involved with politics and during the Russia and Cuban Missile Crisis, he
initiated a public plea to power holding leaders to negotiate peace and prevent a war with
devastating consequences. He promoted prayers of world peace around the globe and even initiated
dialogue with Communist world leaders and others clearly opposed to Christianity. His hospitality to
Communists was highly controversial amongst the Catholic church, and showed how he believed
strongly in developing ties in order to discuss human rights and encourage peace.
During his Papacy, Pope John XXIII published several encyclicals promoting world peace(Pacem
in Terris) and increasing the consciousness of one s dignity and rights of workers, women and
newly independent nations (Mater et Magisterum). Pacem in Terris was addressed to the whole
world and received warmly by Christians and non Christians alike. It altered thinking about the Cold
War and initiated the resurgence of Catholic social teaching.

This wonderful idea all started when I was around 15. This was maybe one of my less great

summer arrived, I was already looking for a place to get a tattoo called Johnny s Tattoos; The
Place Of Regret. Not this place, but tattoos in general are famous for having an effect on how
people with them are viewed and even how they are judged.People have viewed other people with
lots of tattoos as someone who is not fit for the workplace or simply just insane.I made an

After waiting for what felt like 1000s of years my appointment date was here. Therefore I went to

Crime And Punishment In Wuthering Heights Essay
The complex and furious creation of Emily BrontГ«, Wuthering Heights is a powerful novel that
fiercely combines many of the greatest themes in literature, such as love and its intricacies, revenge
and the its terrible effects, and the contrasts between nature and society. One of the most prevalent
themes in this celebrated work is that of crimeand punishment, or sin and retribution. One character
in particular, Heathcliff, stands apart as a conduit for both of these, es pecially his sins. His past
crimes, both worldly and metaphysical, coincide with his punishments.

amp;#8217;s very temperament into a nature even more twisted than it previously had been, and
upon Cathy amp;#8217;s marriage to Edgar, Heathcliff finds a target towards which he can divert
his unyielding rage.
Sympathy should almost be expressed for Heathcliff, since he undergoes a punishment so severe
and yet so directly undeserving: spiritual torment. Due to the loss of Cathy to Edgar by a standard
over which he had no control, Heathcliff bears a weight on his shoulders for the rest of his life,
being forced to endure his life without his true companion. This terrible affliction even drives him
to disturb the resting places of the dead, wherein he makes every attempt to place himself between
Cathy and Edgar.
It could be supposed that Heathcliff dies a wretched soul, convicted of his crimes and having
carried out his sentences. There is a glimmer of hope in his character, however, in light of his final
temperament. In the end, the love of Catherine and Hareton amp;#8211; the reconciliation of the

Usui Reiki Research Paper
THE CONCEPT OF REIKI
Reiki is a Japanese form of stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing through the
laying on of hands. Despite being often referred to as spiritual healing, reiki is a secular practice
and is unrelated to any religion or faith system. Rather, it centres on the belief that all beings are
created and sustained by a universal life force energy, which, if disrupted, weakened or blocked,
can result in emotional and/or physical dis ease. Reiki practitioners act as a channel for this energy,
which flows through them and into the recipient via a series of hand positions relating to the seven
main chakras, which in turn are linked to the body s endocrine system, thereby restoring the
energetic balance and encouraging the body to self heal. As the flow of reiki energy is absorbed
by the recipient through both the subtle and physical bodies, reiki ... Show more content on

Mayans And Aztecs Comparison Essay
When we compare how different people live, we tend not to focus on how it was all started and
what it means. We compare our history against theirs and see what we come up with, instead of
seeing it as a pure beginning. Comparing things can be seen as difficult due to the fact you can t
find something that may be similar instead of different, and just end up focusing on it. Whether it
be against your own history, or someone else s, you can end up missing a critical part that can make
it the most interesting topic on your mind! Religion, culture, geography, technology and
achievements, and art. All topics that are interesting in their own way. The Mayan s and the Aztecs
are a good example. Their different histories are what make them unique and they both have their
own stories to be told, separate, yet have a unique history that ends up being talked about together.
There are many religious beliefs of a Mayan, and they are formed on the belief that everything in

Deficiency and Sufficiency of Critical Factors Greatly affect Attrition and leverage Retention (in IT
Companies) A Case Study of IT Companies in India
Abstract
The IT/ITES sector is the backbone of Indian economy. It earns lot of foreign income to boost the
Indian economy. Even in the economic turmoil over the globe, particularly in developed countries,
though this sector had little affected, could come out successfully managing the entire economic
imbroglio. High attrition in the IT/ITES industry has always been its greatest concern and a subject
of much analysis and debate. Organizations use different methodologies for calculating their
attrition rate. HR experts feel that it is a know factor that attrition calculation is gray area which
does not always depict the true picture while a few techniques are common there are no proven
theories yet. Further, the approach to this calculation might vary from organization to organization.
The Tamil Nadu, Particularly, Chennai is considered to be one of the biggest IT hubs in India
having presence of very big IT companies. The availability of skilled employees with cheap labour
cost in Tamil Nadu is an important reason. AT the same time the rate of attrition are also felt in
these companies. Presently, Tier II cities like Madurai, and Coimbatore were taken place in the IT

U.S government was blamed for poor crisis management and slow response, particularly the
authority s failure to provide adequate personnel during the rescue missions. After the Katrina
disaster, the U.S government learned a lot after the analysis of the whole event was conducted.
First, the U.S government agreed that it was not prepared for a disaster of that magnitude. The
government also learned that there were complacency and inefficiency in leadership that resulted in
delays and logistic problems. The U.S government failed to share information with the public during
the evacuation (Gutmann, 2011). Measures Put in Place
The U.S government has brought numerous changes in disaster management and preparedness
since the September 11 terrorist attack. The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is a
very comprehensive document used to offer guidelines on disaster management. This system was
developed following the February 28, 2003, presidential directive to Secretary of Homeland
Security to initiate a national system for incident management. NIMS provide a national wide
approach for governments at all levels, including the private sector and the NGOs to collaborate in
the preparation, prevention, and response to disasters, regardless of cause or complexity of the

The doctor was persuaded by giving some acres of land in Bangalore by Bharati s MLA
father. This conspiracy needs to be commented upon in the light of what happens to the girl child
in Indian society. Mr. Patel is also not devoid of fault. He continuously and doggedly favours
Chandan when it comes to giving him higher education abroad, and a career. He appears to be
more concerned about the future of Chandan than Tara. Bharati s excessive love for Tara results
from her past guilt. She feels the pangs of her past guilt. She, allied with her father, did great
injustice to Tara. Now she wants to give more and more love and comforts to Tara. It is because
of this that she wants to give her own kidney to Tara when there is another donator available. She
wants to give part of herself and craves satisfaction out of this. The play also can be deemed as
the tragedy of human self. Dan realizes wretchedness and misery of his existence which is the
outcome of the crime done to Tara. There is an unprecedented development in the field of
science and technology. It has blessed mankind with speed, pleasure and perfection. If we look at
the other side of coin, we shall come to know that it is also used to cause suffering and pain in the
lives of many people. After all, it is the man who operates the machine for his own motives and
desires. The play Tara shows us how technologically enhanced equipments are used to subjugate the
woman. The play also

Integrative Negotiations Essay
Journal Harborco
Background: In this negotiation exercise, I was assigned as the Seaborne Governor s negotiator
as part of a six member party meeting to negotiate a deal with Harborco to build and operate a
deepwater port off the coast of Seaborne. The Governor on the whole was very interested in
seeing this deepwater port built in Seaborne as she believes that the size of the project would
provide the stimulus for a dramatic recovery in the state.
However, as there were many parties involved in the meeting, each party had its own interests and
objectives that they wished to obtain from the negotiation and the deal. The five main issues that
were negotiated between the six parties were Industry Mix, Ecological Impact, ... Show more

Negotiation: Having analyzed the scoring scheme and weights given to each outcome, I realized
that the most important outcome was obtaining a large federal loan from the government. In fact,
obtaining a $2 billion loan outcome alone would satisfy the governor s scoring scheme to support
the project. Therefore, before going into the negotiation I realized that this issue would be a pivotal
outcome in the negotiation for me. If I succeed in negotiating the right federal loan amount I could
be flexible with the other issues in the negotiation but keeping in mind that the higher the score the
better the result for the governor. My BATNA was to walk away from the deal where I would still
maintain the 30 points in that situation which meant that if the result of the outcome was less than
30 points, I would vote against the deal.
Looking at the parties involved in the negotiation, it was clear that each party would have agendas
that would be in conflict with each other. For instance, the other ports in the region would like the
highest compensation possible while Harborco would like the lowest compensation. Additionally,
each party would also have a minimum threshold score that they would need from each outcome
before they would support the project. Therefore, it is clear that this is an integrative negotiation
which requires joint problem solving to achieve

America in the 1950 s Essay
America in the 1950 s
Society in America during the 1950 s was one that portrayed men and women in very different, but
rigid roles. Women were housewives, secretaries, and mothers. Men were providers, war heroes,
and businessmen. Television, newspapers and magazines played an important role as well in
determining ways men and women should behave. Advertisements for real estate were designed to
sell to the All American family. For example; Dad would be the returned home veteran who is now
running the company, Mom is an ideal housewife who works a couple days a week for extra
vacation cash, little Billy likes baseball and his sister Susie plays with dolls. Houses designed with
this type of family in mind would prove very effective in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A perfect home for a perfect All American family. Another attractive feature that Green Acres was
able to offer were low cost loans that were only available to veterans and their families. This
neighborhood was designed as a community for middle class families, who could live a solid,
humble, happy life around other families that wanted the same. It was affordable for the average
American family to purchase a home in this subdivision. Automobile manufacturers during this
time also used the same campaign as many advertisers did. They put phrases like coming home
and it s going to be all right in their ads to lure veterans coming home. Some companies played on
the fact that they were creating jobs for Americans. Therefore the automobile makers were keeping
America s economy strong and prosperous. By purchasing your vehicle through a company that
provides Americans with jobs and opportunities, you were doing your part to keep America s
economy going strong. The advertising was designed to put a sense of patriotism in veterans
returning home as well as the average consumer.
Women who worked during the fifties might have found it difficult looking for a job outside of
being a secretary or receptionist. Women in the workplace were not taken seriously and were
usually delivered the unimportant, meaningless jobs with little room for advancement. With titles
like office girl, and sales girl women were at the

Nursery Rhymes In Preschool
When I was in preschool I liked being read nursery rhymes because I still didn t know how to read
yet. I really liked when we would sing. I would sing the songs for the rest of the day. I guess that
s all I remember. In elementary school we had centers where we would go around the classroom.
I remember there was a center where you could listen to the books. I really liked to go listen to
the books so that was always what I was ready for. Every time my teacher would say to change
centers I didn t really want to leave because I thought that everything else was boring. Then in
1st grade I was starting to like to read but the teacher that I had didn t like me. She would always
try to bring me down, so I ignored me. She realized I was ignoring

Family Tenting Is Wrong
Family tenting has been popular for years and remains today. The own family tent is the principal
piece of equipment needed for camping. Choosing simply the right tent is vital to an enjoyable
tenting trip. This article will assist deciding on the form of a tent that will suit you first rate.
Sleeping Capacity Most tent manufacturers say particularly what some human beings can
effortlessly sleep in their tents. What a whole lot of human beings do not consider is the more
room needed for garb and supplies. Along with slumbering baggage, you will have duffel
baggage, suitcases, and maybe a backpack or two. So when you have four people in your
celebration, you have to bear in mind purchasing a tent that sleeps six or eight.
Ease of Set Up The whole point of camping is to loosen up and no longer be stressed out, but a tent
it truly is difficult to set up can undo that during a rush. Before shopping for a tent study the
evaluations and take note of comments on how difficult or clean it changed into to ... Show more

This kind of tent is normally less complicated to install and less complicated to transport later if the
want arises.
Rain Flies Some nicer tents come prepared with a separate piece of water resistant fabric called a
rain fly. This piece goes just above the roof of the tent and helps shed water within the event of an
unexpected rain shower. You may not need it. However, it s best to know you ve got the more
protection if it does rain. This should be a demand in your subsequent tent.
Don t fall for the strains from a few producers that claim their tent walls and roofs are already
water resistant. They might resist water for a quick time, but they without a doubt are not water
resistant. Also, take into account that the zippers for the doorways and home windows might not be
water resistant. A rain fly is the most appropriate manner to keep rain out of your

The Character of Clay in Amiri Baraka s The Dutchman...
The Character of Clay in Amiri Baraka s The Dutchman
Clay is not naive. He may be misguided, misled, and mistaken, but he is anything but naive. Clay
is an individual who has shed the roots of his race, disregarding many of the cultural implications
that such a decision could have on him. He is a misguided individual who, because he is human,
does the wrong things at the wrong times for the wrong reasons. He continually struggles with his
own identity and the power struggle between him and Lula. The notion of power dynamics in The
Dutchman is brought forth in the character of Clay, who knows the limits of his power, takes the
forbidden fruit from the more powerful Lula, and fantasizes about his own life.
Lula is clearly in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Staring at you? What do you mean?
LULA. Don t you know what staring means?
CLAY. I saw you through the window . . . if that s what it means. I don t know if I was staring.
Seems to me you were staring through the window at me.
LULA. I was. But only after I d turned around and saw you staring through that window down in
the vicinity of my ass and legs.
CLAY. Really?
LULA. Really. I guess you were just taking those idle pot shots. Nothing else to do. Run your mind
over people s flesh.
CLAY. Oh boy. Wow, now I admit I was looking in your direction. But the rest of that weight is
yours. (6 7)
Clay is timid in the dialogue, and he is somewhat taken aback or even embarrassed in the fourth
line, when he pauses. As one might expect, he is awkward and timid when approached by an
individual with a higher social status. Part of this is due to exterior appearances the fact that Lula
is white intimidates him. He doesn t totally deny staring at Lula, which could mean either that he
was not staring at her or simply that he did not want to admit it, fearful of the consequences. Like
invisible man s grandfather would want in Ellison s book, Clay is rarely confrontational with Lula.
In this instance, and in many others, he takes a more passive approach. In this case, Clay admits
that he was looking in Lula s direction.
Clay takes the middle road throughout much of the play. As Andrzej Ceynowa says in The
Dramatic Structure of Dutchman, The most he dares in his active

A Meta-Analysis of the Impacts of Soy Milk, Skim Milk, and...
Five studies were found that coincide with the study selection criteria for on the effects of
fermented milk on cholesterol levels. Although some studies do not agree, a consensus can still be
reached. Five studies were found that agree consuming fermented milk products helps to lower
cholesterol levels. Of these studies Agerbaek et al., (1995) conducted a six week study on fifty
eight healthy, non obese males with normal cholesterollevels, all were age forty four. Participants
were randomly placed in either the fermented milk or placebo group; the placebo consisted of
milk cultured with non living bacteria and the fermented milk was fermented with E. faecium
and two strains of S. termophilus. Participants drank 200 ml per day of either fermented or
placebo milk. The diet of each individual was not altered at any time during the study. After six
weeks, total cholesterol was significantly reduced by 14.3 mg/dL while the placebo had no
significant change. LDL cholesterol levels had a 10% reduction, a 16.24 mg/dL decrease while
HDL cholesterol levels were unchanged. Agerbaek et al., (1995) determined that fermented milk
should significantly decrease total cholesterol and LDL levels in middle aged men.
A study by Anderson and Gilliland (1999) came to the conclusion that fermented milk lowered
total cholesterol levels by 2.4%, LDL by 2.6% and HDL by 3.9%. The study was conducted over a
three week period with twenty females and nine males all with hypercholesterolemia. All

Rio Tinto receives the health and safety benefits by reducing the risks that is happening on the
mine sites, such as reducing the labor exposure to landslides and geotechnical risks. This is the
main reason for the deployment of automated systems in the mine sites through the MOF project.
It does not only reduces the risk but also reduces the cost of money spent on labors in order to
increase the production when there is a sudden demand for the product and also reduces the
environmental related issues and social impacts that are said to be created due to the presence of

One artist, in particular, has drawn my attention since I was young and he is a self taught artist named Guy Dennings. While taking the hearts of thousands of others with his various media that range from pastel on newsprint to Conte crayon on paper; he has also captured my imagination with these emotional creations. During the negotiation process, there are a lot of moving parts and personalities. In addition, hurt feelings can all too often get in the way. The bottom line of any negotiation is to reach a settlement that will mutually benefit both parties. It s a challenging situation by which compromise or agreement is reached while attempting to avoid arguments and disputes. The Zinnia Labor Agreement Project was an insightful learning simulation. It was interesting, frustrating, and a unique experience. The project required keeping an open mind and approaching the simulation with an integrative approach. However, all parties involved in the negotiation process must take into consideration this same approach. Additionally, trust between management and labor union is beneficial. Trust can be a slippery thing when it comes to negotiating. Despite modest reductions in the incidence of certain cancer types, overall the prevalence of cancer is increasing worldwide (1). The automatic vehicle effectively made driving much easier but took away the driver s need to work hard. As the development of the automatic car makes driving extremely easier, taking away a stress factor causes a drift in the mind and a lack of focus on the current tasks at hand. Carr presents this idea in the development of autopilots in airplanes. The autopilot in the airplane by technicality flies the plane instead of the human pilot. In emergency situations, the pilot will be given and take upon manual control of the plane to attend to situations that autopilot is not prepared to handle. What causes this to fail is not the computer controlling the plane but the human pilot takeover. In specific cases when planes have crashed, the autopilots were not aware of the situation during the takeover because their focus of the task had drifted. Carr quotes Hermant Bhana that, As automation has gained in sophistication, the role of the pilot has shifted toward becoming a monitor or supervisor of the automation. This began to change when criminologists recognized a strong relationship between offending and victimization. Scholars argue that this relationship can be explained by a common underlying trait of low self control. Gottfredson and Hirschi first introduced low self control as an explanation of offending in the General Theory of Crime, and more recent studies have applied the theory to victimization. The Susquehanna River is located in West Fairview. Now the question is, is the Conodoguinet Creek polluted? Pollution is caused by smoke in the air from big metal companies and fertilizers from farmers. Acid rain takes that smoke and fertilizers and rains into the ground and into waterways. That pollution can kill the organisms living in that waterway. My hypothesis is that the Conodoguinet Creek will not be polluted. Reiki practitioners act as a channel for this energy, which flows through them and into the recipient via a series of hand positions relating to the seven main chakras, which in turn are linked to the body s endocrine system, thereby restoring the energetic balance and encouraging the body to self heal. He appears to be more concerned about the future of Chandan than Tara. Bharati s excessive love for Tara results from her past guilt. She feels the pangs of her past guilt. She, allied with her father, did great injustice to Tara. Now she wants to give more and more love and comforts to Tara. • 42. Integrative Negotiations Essay Journal Harborco Background: In this negotiation exercise, I was assigned as the Seaborne Governor s negotiator as part of a six member party meeting to negotiate a deal with Harborco to build and operate a deepwater port off the coast of Seaborne. The Governor on the whole was very interested in seeing this deepwater port built in Seaborne as she believes that the size of the project would provide the stimulus for a dramatic recovery in the state. However, as there were many parties involved in the meeting, each party had its own interests and objectives that they wished to obtain from the negotiation and the deal. The five main issues that were negotiated between the six parties were Industry Mix, Ecological Impact, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Negotiation: Having analyzed the scoring scheme and weights given to each outcome, I realized that the most important outcome was obtaining a large federal loan from the government. In fact, obtaining a $2 billion loan outcome alone would satisfy the governor s scoring scheme to support the project. Therefore, before going into the negotiation I realized that this issue would be a pivotal outcome in the negotiation for me. If I succeed in negotiating the right federal loan amount I could be flexible with the other issues in the negotiation but keeping in mind that the higher the score the better the result for the governor. My BATNA was to walk away from the deal where I would still maintain the 30 points in that situation which meant that if the result of the outcome was less than 30 points, I would vote against the deal. Looking at the parties involved in the negotiation, it was clear that each party would have agendas that would be in conflict with each other. For instance, the other ports in the region would like the highest compensation possible while Harborco would like the lowest compensation. Additionally, each party would also have a minimum threshold score that they would need from each outcome before they would support the project. Therefore, it is clear that this is an integrative negotiation which requires joint problem solving to achieve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women were housewives, secretaries, and mothers. Men were providers, war heroes, and businessmen. Television, newspapers and magazines played an important role as well in determining ways men and women should behave. Advertisements for real estate were designed to sell to the All American family. Another attractive feature that Green Acres was able to offer were low cost loans that were only available to veterans and their families. This neighborhood was designed as a community for middle class families, who could live a solid, humble, happy life around other families that wanted the same. It was affordable for the average American family to purchase a home in this subdivision. Automobile manufacturers during this time also used the same campaign as many advertisers did. They put phrases like coming home and it s going to be all right in their ads to lure veterans coming home. Some companies played on the fact that they were creating jobs for Americans. Therefore the automobile makers were keeping America s economy strong and prosperous. He may be misguided, misled, and mistaken, but he is anything but naive. Clay is an individual who has shed the roots of his race, disregarding many of the cultural implications that such a decision could have on him. He is a misguided individual who, because he is human, does the wrong things at the wrong times for the wrong reasons. He continually struggles with his own identity and the power struggle between him and Lula. But only after I d turned around and saw you staring through that window down in the vicinity of my ass and legs. CLAY. Really? LULA. Really. I guess you were just taking those idle pot shots. Nothing else to do. Run your mind over people s flesh. CLAY. Oh boy. Wow, now I admit I was looking in your direction. But the rest of that weight is yours. (6 7) Clay is timid in the dialogue, and he is somewhat taken aback or even embarrassed in the fourth line, when he pauses. As one might expect, he is awkward and timid when approached by an individual with a higher social status. Part of this is due to exterior appearances the fact that Lula is white intimidates him. He doesn t totally deny staring at Lula, which could mean either that he was not staring at her or simply that he did not want to admit it, fearful of the consequences. Like invisible man s grandfather would want in Ellison s book, Clay is rarely confrontational with Lula. In this instance, and in many others, he takes a more passive approach. In this case, Clay admits that he was looking in Lula s direction. Clay takes the middle road throughout much of the play. Five studies were found that coincide with the study selection criteria for on the effects of fermented milk on cholesterol levels. Although some studies do not agree, a consensus can still be reached. Five studies were found that agree consuming fermented milk products helps to lower cholesterol levels. Of these studies Agerbaek et al., (1995) conducted a six week study on fifty eight healthy, non obese males with normal cholesterollevels, all were age forty four. Participants were randomly placed in either the fermented milk or placebo group; the placebo consisted of milk cultured with non living bacteria and the fermented milk was fermented with E. faecium and two strains of S. termophilus. Participants drank 200 ml per day of either fermented or placebo milk. The diet of each individual was not altered at any time during the study. After six weeks, total cholesterol was significantly reduced by 14.3 mg/dL while the placebo had no significant change. LDL cholesterol levels had a 10% reduction, a 16.24 mg/dL decrease while HDL cholesterol levels were unchanged.
