High Quality Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "High Quality Essay" presents a paradoxical challenge. The
irony lies in the pressure to meet the very standards the topic advocates. The expectation for
excellence becomes a formidable hurdle, akin to a writer attempting to capture the essence of
brilliance while navigating the intricate dance of words.
To begin with, defining "high quality" in the context of an essay requires a nuanced
understanding of academic rigor, eloquence, and relevance. The task involves an intricate balance
between originality and adherence to established conventions. It's not merely about stringing
together a sequence of words but rather about weaving a tapestry of thoughts that engages,
informs, and resonates with the audience.
Navigating through the labyrinth of ideas, the writer must grapple with the challenge of standing
out amidst the sea of information. Crafting a unique perspective on the subject demands not only
a deep dive into the topic but also the finesse to present it in a manner that captivates the reader.
This process involves a meticulous dance with language, where each word is a brushstroke
contributing to the larger portrait of the essay.
Moreover, the writer must be adept at conducting extensive research to underpin their arguments
with credible evidence. The pursuit of quality necessitates a commitment to accuracy and a
discerning eye for reliable sources. This meticulous approach, though commendable, adds an
extra layer of complexity to the writing process.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to the revision and refinement stage. Achieving high quality
requires a keen editorial eye, where every sentence is scrutinized for clarity, coherence, and
conciseness. The writer must be prepared to engage in multiple revisions, polishing their prose
until it gleams with the brilliance befitting the topic.
In the end, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of "High Quality Essay" lies not only in
meeting the elevated expectations set by the theme itself but also in transcending those
expectations to deliver a piece that embodies the essence of excellence.
For those seeking assistance in this intricate endeavor, a variety of resources are available.

Synthesis Of Grignard Reagent And Benzaldehyde
Introduction: This experiment involved the synthesis of diphenylmethanal from
phenylmagnesium bromide which is a Grignard reagent, and benzaldehyde which is a
carbonyl group. The goal of this experiment was to investigate the ability of the
Grignard reaction to yield the theoretical predicted product and evaluate its efficiency.
The Grignard reactionis an important reaction because of its ability to allow the
formation of carboncarbon bonds. These formations of C C sigma bonds, then allow
for the formation or making of large or complex synthetic molecules from very
simple reagents. These complex molecules are then used in many different areas such
as the pharmaceutical industry. Also, one must note that Grignard reagents are strong
nucleophiles that can attack carbonyl groups that can form substituted alcohols after
the protonation step. The reaction occurred as follows. The first step consisted in the
formation of the Grignard reagent. That was done through the use of an organic
halide provided in the lab and Magnesium. The organic halide used was
bromobenzene. The second step consisted of reacting the Grignard reagent formed
in the first step with benzaldehyde. The third and final step consisted of using the
product of the second step and diluting it with HCl (Hydrochloric Acid). Finally, the
product obtained of this whole reaction was diphenylmethonal ( please refer to the
drawing below for a more visual approach). The creation of this product can also be
Basketball in NS Essay
Basketball was first introduced to Nova Scotia as early as 1895 but in the past thirty
years the popularity of the sport has really taken off. The high concentration of
universities in the province, the tradition and esteem of the high school programs,
and the continued support from a large and knowledgeable basketball community
have made the game a staple of NovaScotia life, culminating with the capital city of
Halifaxbecoming known as the basketball capital of Canada. When you talk about
basketball in the Maritimes you can break it down into different levels of
competition. There are the club systems throughout the province, the regional and

Another first time winner was Halifax West as traditional powerhouses from
Queen Elizabeth and St. Patrick s faced greater competition. Another sign of the
game s popularity was the fact that it was being played in the summer time. After
watching rare broadcasts of NBA playoffs, in which one of the halftime events was
pitting the greatest players in the game one on one, this format was adopted in
Halifax and tournaments were held with the winner gaining bragging rights
throughout the city. At the university level, Brian Heaney took over as coach of
the St. Mary s Huskies. The former Acadia superstar took over the Huskies in 1971
and for the next eight years under his reign St. Mary s replaced Acadia as the
premiere basketball squad in the province. During the decade St. Mary s won the
national championships in 1973, 78, and 79 respectively and reached the finals on
two other occasions. The Axemen remained highly competitive and won the nationals
in 1971 and 1977. They were a formidable opponent for the Huskies, which resulted
in one of the greatest intercollegiate rivalries in the province s history. The two strong
teams made the Atlantic Universities Athletic Association the strongest conference in
the country for the first time as Acadia or SMU captured five national championships

Negative Impact Of Technology
Technology; the rise or fall of our existing generations? Research has shown that
technology impacts our thinking and mental processes. Unfortunately, the impacts do
not appear to be in our favor. There are four categories that the negative impacts from
technology usage, on the human mind, divide into. The categories are memoryloss,
alterations in our learning styles, adverse impacts on focus, and a diminishing mental
importance of the physical world around you.
The first of the problems is memory loss. It is becoming more prevalent in the
younger generations due to the surrounding fast paced world, and there are two
impacts from this. The first impact has been coined with the term digital dementia ,
referring to the breakdown of cerebral abilities caused from overusing technology
(Jessica Gwen). According to Gwen, people who overuse technology could develop
short term memory loss due to the lessening of intellectual performance. The second
impact is known as lateralization of brain function which is the imbalance of the
brain. This imbalance occurs when the right side of the brain is trying to develop
thinking skills instead of using its purpose as being creative and emotional. This
means the right side of the brain is damaged, causing difficulties with memory and
concentration. Therefore, digital dementia and the imbalance of the brain is caused
by an overuse of technology since the brain is no longer required to remember or
memorize; only to locate, since the answers

Character Analysis of Blanche DuBoise In the play A Streetcar Named Desire,
Tennessee Williams portrays Blanch DuBoise as the character who suffers inner
struggles all through her life. She is a fallen woman in the eyes of society. She
would prefer to live in her own imagination. Her name is befitting for her in that she
acts more as a woman of the night she would rather be out at night or in the dim
lights. She is a southern woman on all counts who lives in Laurel, Mississippi. Her
life has been full of disappointments, death, and sexual propriety. Through her
misfortunes, she becomes more unstable. She wants to create a life within her life
to cope with all the stresses of her reality. Blanche is unable to find an escape from
herself. She finds herself as a victim at the hands of her sister s husband. Blanche
hopes for new beginnings when she leaves Belle Reve from which she has been
evicted. She moves to New Orleans to be with Stella, her sister, and her husband
Stanley. Leonard Berkman pities her and views her as a misunderstood character, a
tragic figure trying to start a new life for herself in New Orleans (34). As much as
she tries, she can never fully gain peace. The name Williams chose for her character
causes some speculations and opposition among critics. There are those who see it as
a name of purity, but others think Williams is trying to play with the critics. Critic

Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective
b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective
Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources
from less to more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most.
This process of exchange does not face many obstacles when the parties to a
transaction can perform their obligations in a simultaneous manner. In today s world,
most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how,
where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. This is
why protection of contract rights is essential.
While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any
form of contract law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content

If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward
economic activity that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce
efficiency in the market and lead to misallocation of resources.
Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect
how parties interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has
advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for
sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered
to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of
pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch,
has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor
Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s
offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his
mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s
failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources
because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch
and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him.
The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only
where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.
Examples Of Realism In Daisy Miller
Psychological Realism in Daisy Miller
Written by Henry James, Daisy Miller is a novella that first appeared in Cornhill
magazine in 1878 and later published in 1879. The novella narrates the courtship of
a young beautiful American girl called Daisy Miller by Winterbourne, a
sophisticated young American turned European man, whose efforts to win her heart
has been derailed by Daisy Miller s flirtatiousness and care free life, which has been
frowned upon by the community in Geneva and Rome. This fictional story shows a
noticeable change from social realism to psychological realism, which is regarded as
more nuanced (Cokal). This worldwide trend was evidently in the literature of
America during this time, which also marched with an incursion ... Show more

And while the author chooses the protagonist s name to be the title of his novella, he
makes Winterbourne be the first person narrator. While this is undeniable, it is true
that Daisy has been psychologized and that the function of the girl Daisy is to act as a
plot device and a representation of the American innocence in Europe. According to
Ohmann, James began writing with one attitude towards his heroine and concluded
with a second and different attitude towards her (2). What Ohmann is trying to say is
that Daisy is depicted as an innocent, flirtatious young woman, mostly unmindful of
her society s degree of judgment, which is a reflection of an emerging American
class. In his description of Daisy Miller novella, Johnson states that a compelling
feminist counter narrative of American womanhood defined by freedom despite
social constraints (41). In the text, it is evident that while the characters of female
gender are still confined within particular social confinement and Daisy is punished
with death. Johnson adds that her moments of defiance linger long after the sting of
her death subsides. ( 42) This is witnessed long after Daisy s death when Fredrick
Winterbourne comes to the realization that he had done her injustice (James 83)
because he had lived too long in foreign parts (James

with the billing and enrollment department reconciles the amount of money paid by
their clients (individuals, employers or government agency etc.) against the amount
of money the financial department thinks should be collected based on the total
enrollees in their various programs. Then, the department now follows the trail of

Climate Change Is A Hot
Assignment 3: Climate Change Global climate change is a hot (pun intended) topic
in today s modern, industrialized world. This topic however is crowded with lots of
baseless opinions and politicized debates. Even when observing the facts we see that
this coin is most definitely two sided, the information can be and is interpreted in a
number of ways depending on which side of the issue you stand. Within this paper I
am going to examine both sides of argument with sources from two films, Are We
Changing Planet Earth, Global Warming: Hype or Hazard? and a book, This
Borrowed Earth: 15 Lesson from the worst environmental disasters around the world
by Robert Emmet Hernan. The first side I m going to discuss is the Pro side. That is,
the side with supporters claiming global climate changeis both real, likely
anthropological and must be addressed immediately. The arguments on this side tend
to observe measurable changes in our environment in the past several hundred to
several thousand years, observing previous trends and attempting to match them with
future expectations, then comparing them with current realities. The sourced film
Are We Changing Planet Earth goes into quite a bit of depth on these particular
aspects. Traveling around the world, they inspected what were mostly relatively
recent events and how they affected the people and animals. One such example was
in Mongolia where the farming industry is rapidly changing to compensate for the

City Upon A Hill Essay
For the Puritans in the early New England colonies life was by no means easy, but
there was the possibility to expand their beliefs free from the persecution from
Church of England. They had the opportunity to create their ideal society under
God with the bible as their law from which they would define how to live. The
Puritans set out to create their model society which could spread and cull the
impurities from the church. But how did these beliefs and goals ultimately effect
their society? In the book Give Me Liberty: An American History by Eric Foner he
notes that: Puritanism, however, was not simply a set of ideas but a state of mind, a
zealousness in pursuing the true faiththat alienated many who held differing religious

In their society the Puritans based their lives, beliefs, and communities on what they
deemed as God s law and true word, the bible (Barger). Reading the bible was
expected for the members of society, this included women and children, which was
often unheard of (Foner 66) at that time. With their lives being restricted to the
word of the bible this left very little leeway for anything other than what was
deemed acceptable, and this rigid way of life was another straw that led to the
eventual troubles and fervor that took over. The Puritans ultimate goal was for their
ideal society, their City Upon A Hill, a model Christian society. According to Dr.
Terry Matthew in Puritanism in America They did not come to this country to find a
place to practice freedom of worship. Instead, they came to find a place where their
true religion could flourish. They wanted to influence more than just their
communities and those surrounding, they wanted to influence the Church of
England and further in the hopes of purifying those that had strayed from what they
deemed as the true and righteous path all by showing the way by their hard fast
examples. These goals that the Puritans strived to achieve both at home and abroad
placed a great amount of stress on the people and community. They were always
working for their model society and for them their true leader was God. Puritans

decades. African Americans were introduced to people, specifically Caucasians as

others superior than them according to society. As she was used to the constant
disadvantage and mistreatment displayed towards African Americans, it was an
unreal moment for young Oprah Winfreyas she observed Sidney Poiter walk across

In most of the societies, there is discrimination. There are many reasons for it, for
instance based on religion, race, caste, sex, etc. If people are treated unfairly or
overlooked they tend to become anti social or possess criminal behavior. They feel
frustrated of the system because they can not even get what they deserve. This
statement applies precisely on King of the Bingo Game and The Cask of
Amontillado . In both stories, protagonists are overlooked or treated unfairly which
make them anti social and force them to commit crime. To begin with, in both of
these stories the protagonist were not at their native place, they both were at different

All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
It is simple, follow these steps, and you will be happier. Robert Fulghum wrote the
book All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. In this book he
mentioned three major, but simple lessons: put things back where you found
them, play and work some everyday, hold hands and stick together. These
important rules for kindergarten are also important rules for life, and apply to our
everyday lives. For one to be happy, you need to simply, live a little. If you wake up,
get dressed, go to work, come home, and go to bed everyday, you re not going to
have a fun, happy life. When Fulghum said play and work some everyday, he didn t
mean go play tag for an hour. Make the most out of everyday. Solely having a smile

Another con of zoos are surplus animals, which are the unwanted animals for whom
there is no more space, when zoos have bred yet another cute baby animal to attract
visitors. Baby animals bring in money and people, and the need for breeding new
baby animals leads to overpopulation. Over population results in surplus animals that
are killed, fed to other zoo animals, or sold to other zoos and circuses. But if the zoos
purpose is to preserve the animals, then why are they killing them?
Removing animals from the wild is said to protect and preserve them, but it further
endangers the wild population because the remaining animals will be less genetically
diverse and have trouble finding mates.
No matter how good the zoo facility is, animals still suffer in zoos. Animals in zoos
live under constant psychological pressure because their natural movements are
limited by the boundaries of the zoo.
In fact, 62% of animals in zoos suffer from foot diseases, bone infection, toe fracture,

Conception Of College Life
The preconceived notion of college life is that everyone is broke, tired, and
struggling academically, spiritually and socially. While the college experience is
different for each individual attending, everyone is pretty much going through the
same things. We all eat the same food, experience the same fatigue after staying up

There are also indications of increased financial fragility. Internationally, fragility
was evident in the run of financial crises that afflicted the global economy in the late
1990s and early 2000s, and it has surfaced again in the recent U.S. sub prime
mortgage crisis that spread to Europe.
Furthermore, there are serious reservations about the sustainability of the
financialization process. The last two decades have been marked by rapidly rising
household debt income ratios and corporate debt equity ratios. These developments
explain both the system s growth and increasing fragility, but they also indicate
unsustainability because debt constraints must eventually bite. The risk is when this
happens the economy could be vulnerable to debt deflation and prolonged recession.
These macroeconomic concerns are compounded by concerns about income
distribution. Thus, the era of financialization has witnessed a disconnection of wages
3
from productivity growth, raising serious concerns regarding wage stagnation and
widening income and wealth inequality (Mishel et al. 2007).
The financialization thesis is that these changes in macroeconomic patterns and
income distribution are significantly attributable to financial sector developments.
Those developments have relaxed constraints on access to finance and increased the
influence of the financial sector over the non financial sector. For households this has
enabled greatly
Hip Hop Wars By Tricia Rose
When Tricia Rose speaks to the concept of hip hop wars in her writing, she is
referring to a broad range of different conflicts that are taking place in all areas of
hip hop. In the introduction to her book, she begins to explain her multitude of
concerns surrounding certain topics in hip hop. She begins by saying that the
most financially successful hip hop has become a way of caricaturing black
gangstas, pimps and hoes (p. 1). She goes on to explain that homophobia,
hypersexism, antisocial behavior, and violent tendancies seem to have become
defining characteristics of hip hop as a whole. Essentially, Tricia Rose s definition
of hip hop wars can be summarized as: the pushing and pulling between the forces
of good and evil within a movement that has begun to develop undesirable qualities.
She offers an array of critical analyzations in support and in opposition of hip hop.
One of the more prominent criticisms of hip that Rose points out is that there is a
large amount of misplaced blame in the world of hip hop. She writes, increasingly,
too many of hip hop s supporters point to structural racismto explain the origins of
the problem but refuse to link these structural forces to individual action and to the
power of media seduction (p. 73). In this section of the second chapter, Rose is
explaining that those who defend commercial hip hop are taking a more or less one
dimensional approach to their arguments by solely blaming structural racism and
overlooking the
Hamlet vs. Oedipus Essay
Character Analysis of Prince Hamlet in Hamlet by William Shakespeare and
Oedipus in Oedipus King by Sophocles In Aristotle s literary discourse, Poetics, he
discusses his theory of tragedy, wherein he introduces the concepts of tragic flaw or
hamartia, which serves as the catalyst for the protagonist s downfall or the tragedyof
the story to happen. He determines a tragedy as a drama that brings about a

As his anxieties later develop to become his most tragic flaw, that of being indecisive,
Hamlet lets himself plunge towards his downfall. This is demonstrated in the play
s most famous scene, wherein Hamlet delivers his soliloquy: To be, or not to be,
that is the question, Whether В‘tis nobler in the mind to sufferВ…Or to take arms
against a sea of troubles, And by opposing, end them: to die, to sleep, No more; and
by a sleep, to say we end The heart acheВ… tis a consummation Devoutly to be
wished (1288). In this passage, Shakespeare brings into lucidity Hamlet s tragic
flaw: as he delayed his plan to avenge his father against Claudius, Hamlet opens an
opportunity for the murderer of his father (Claudius) to plan ahead and instead,
turn the tables against Hamlet, which eventually results to his death. It was only at
the end of the play that Hamlet redeems himself from his mistakes in life. This is
when he achieves catharsis, the end or goal of tragedy (1186). Hamlet finally kills
Claudius before he dies himself, and Fortinbras best illustrates his redemption by
exulting him by saying, Let four captains Bear Hamlet like a soldier to the stage, For
he was likely, had he been put on, To have proved most royal, and for his passage,
The soldiers music and the rite of war Speak loudly for him (1345).
Why I Am The Movie Unbroken
The reason why I am sweatpants is because when people are sad or need solace
they come to me. When people are upset they just want to go home, throw on their

Formal Education In Porirua Friday Night By Sam Hunt
In the poem, Porirua Friday Night by Sam Hunt, there is an important idea. An
important idea addressed in this poem is the importance of formal education. Porirua
Friday Night is about a young teenage girl from the perspective of the man in the
poem. Formal education is important to teenagers because it will help their wellbeing
and help them succeed later in life.
An important idea in the poem is formal education. Formal education is education
based inside a classroom, taught by trained teachers and is systematic. This idea of
formal education is apparent in this text as it says certain phrases such as A year
ago, she s now left school meaning that she dropped out of school a year prior to
when this poem took place and multiple quotes indicating that she is a teenager or
she is of young age such as; Acne blossoms scarlet on their cheeks , Fourteen when
I met her first and Pinned across this young girl s breast . Also, the idea of formal
education is apparent in the setting and in the title as it sets place in Porirua, a town
of low socioeconomic status meaning that the residents there have low income and
perhaps discontinuing can be a common occurrence with can explain the low
socioeconomic status with not many people having a high source of income. Being
a student partaking in formal education, I am able to relate to this idea as I like the
idea of formal education as it helps us to learn better and more clear with experienced
teachers and the environment the
The Provision Of Cost Effective Care
The provision of cost effective care is an integral component in the decision making
process for the nurse practitioner. This process includes the ability to take into
consideration the patient s beliefs and desired outcomes, analyze evidence based
treatment options, and costs of various options, in the development of a treatment
plan that meets the desired health outcome. It is a valuable quality of the nurse
practitionerto establish a working relationship with the patient, provide current
information, and allow the patient to make an informed healthcare decision which is
best for them (Dunphy, Winland Brown, Porter, Thomas, 2015).
Importance of Providing Cost Effective Care In a time when healthcare costs in the
United States exceeds 2.7 trillion dollars, it is never been such an imperative as it
is now, to provide cost effective healthcare. The cost of diagnostic testing alone
accounts for 10 percent of total healthcare costs. The advancement in diagnostic
imaging and laboratory testing has escalated these costs due to misuse or overuse in
diagnosing patient s aliments for fear of diagnostic errors. It is estimated that 25
billion dollars per year, in the United States is spent on inappropriate diagnostic
testing (Newman Toker, McDonald, Meltzer, 2013). Technology advances and the
demand for advanced diagnostic testing have progressively escalated, creating a
quandary on what is an appropriate diagnostic test and what is not a diagnostically

Federal RICO Statutes Essay
RICO, which stands for Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act,
was created in 1970 by the United States Government as a way to help courts fight
organized crime. These types of organized crime are often called white collar
crimes and they can range from fraud and embezzlement to bribery. Before RICO
was established it was far too easy for a person higher up the ladder or ranks of a
company or gang to dodge any sort of prosecution for their actions simply because
they were not the person who actually did whatever deeds that were being
prosecuted. Instead, said person would hold to the liability of others for acting out on
their orders, making such persons the only viable criminal, because they were the

able to be proven that a project or business was or is organized and was or is

their high level status or to gain status within the business. It may also be noted that
the two incidents of racketeering need to have occurred within ten years of one
another in order to uphold RICO laws. Also, many states have created their own
RICO like laws that envelop and uphold many of the statutes of RICO itself, in
attempts to prevent any loophole activity from occurring. If a conviction is

Exploring The Roots Of The Recurring Subjects And
Symbols...
After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally
developed a pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed
early on would come to define the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively
Christian images. Early Christians adopted classical conventions for their art, which
would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and initiates. For outsiders, the
symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are loaded with
meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a
biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose
of this paper is to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in
the funerary paintings in Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome.
Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early
Christian art. An exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network
of underground burial systems: the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of
these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning in the third century CE, the
Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich and poor, and
extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms
of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything,
the art style is a more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall
painting. The use of iconography is
The Collective Bargaining And Negotiation Process
Almost everyone employed by a school district may participate in a collective
bargaining unit or an organized group of job positions represented by an association.
The association then participates in a joint decision making process, involving direct
negotiations to determine wages, hours of work or other terms and conditions of
employment for all employees in that unit. The collective bargaining process between
a board of education and any association of united teachers, service personnel or
administrators can have a wide range of effects for everyone involved in that district
and community, especially the students. The regional school district being utilized
for this review is that of a large regional school district, serving about 7,000 students
in grades 9 through 12, in the largest county in the state. It is an affluent community
of parents and community members from eight municipalities who recognize the
value of education and actively support the schools. Historically, teachers, parents and
administrators within the district have enjoyed a good, working relationship. As a
result of this ongoing positive relationship, the collective bargaining and negotiation
processes between the four associations in the district are relatively downplayed and
quiet. Several associations negotiate collective bargaining agreements with the
regional the local teacher s education association, public school employee association,

The Tragedy Of Ralph Schneider

they end up wasting it in an unexpected way. This is a story of one of those time
addictions. The story begins in the year 1929, a young boy named Ralph
Schneider is born in the town Augsburg on Bobinger street. He was the perfect
German, he had bright blonde hair and sea blue eyes. Ralph grew up in a small
house with his loving parents, Helga and Gerhard along with his sister Ilse, who
was born 8 years after him. Ralph had a simple life with no obstacles standing in
his way, his father was making a respectable amount of money from his job as a

He explained to Ralph he had no choice but to go, because the party would come
after their family. Ralph understood, however he couldn t believe he had so little time
left with his father. On that final night they had together Ralph s father told Ralph a
story. The story was of a boy much like himself, whose father had also left for war.
This boy was given a watch from his father to keep until he got back from war. He
explained how the boy looked at the watch every day to see the passing time go by
and think that he was one minute closer to reuniting with his father once again. The
story went on about how the boy never lost hope, and his father eventually came
home. Then they lived happily ever after. Unfortunately, I am reluctant to inform you
that Ralph s story does not end in a happy ending.
The next day Ralph woke up to a damaged watch on his wrist; immediately he
sprinted into the living room only to find his little sister and mother crying. His
father was gone, and instead he had a watch. The next couple days were tough, his
mother closed the tailor shop and they were living on the army salary. After two
weeks since his father s departure, the old watch that Ralph had received stopped
working. Ralph freaked out, he needed to see the time moving on. His family did not
own any other watches and could not afford to buy one, forcing him into a tough
situation, he had to do something. Without thinking he went to fetch his two friends

Analysis Of The Bell Jar A Streetcar Named Desire ...
Compare and contrast the imagery of death and decay in the opening sections of The
Bell Jar , A Streetcar Named Desire and Hamlet .
Sylvia Plath s 1963 novel The Bell Jar , Tennessee Williams 1947 play A Streetcar
Named Desire and William Shakespeare s 1603 play Hamlet , share many
similarities, albeit there are also differences, in the way in which the themes of death
and decay are presented.
Sylvia Plath s poor mental health, which subsequently lead to her suicide on February
11th 1963, may be seen to be reflected in her novel, The Bell Jar . Death may be
deemed to have a lack of meaning throughout her novel due to the casual manner in
which the protagonist and narrator, Esther Greenwood, deals with death. Esther s
father passed away when she was nine years old, and she feels that his death
marked the point at which she changed, resulting in her mental health becoming
unstable. However, along with her mother, she had never cried for [her] father s
death (p.159). This clearly demonstrates how Esther deals with death; it is a
necessary part of life, and to Esther, as aforementioned, her mental health has
caused her to view death as more desirable than sitting under the same glass bell jar,
stewing in [her] own sour air (p. 178). Moreover, Esther s numerous attempts at
suicide remind the reader that Esther believes the only way out is death. For
example, in Chapter Thirteen, Esther asks her friend Cal, how he would kill
The Battle Of Little Bighorn
This paper takes a look at the victory disease as illustrated in the historic example of
the Battle of Little Bighorn when Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and
210 of his men where annihilated by some 2500 warriors from the Sioux and
Cheyenne Indian nations. Throughout history the United States military has suffered
from an invincible mentality, arrogance, and complacency all built upon by
numerous victories and a national psyche that creates military leaders who expect
overwhelming victories in any armed conflict we find ourselves in. The Battle of the
Little Bighornembodies many of the victory disease symptoms, as evidenced by
LTC Custer s over confidence and failure to follow orders. Historians and scholars
continue to analyze and critiqued the decisions made in combat by our military
leaders, for those decisions we make in combat effect the lives of many. This paper
will attempt to re dissect the battle and Custer s decisions in an attempt to find
additional courses of actions that may have been taken, and learn from his analytic
mistakes.
Battle of the Little Bighorn, over wise known as Custer s Last Stand, and the Battle
of the Greasy Grass by the Indians who were involved, took place on 25 26 June
1876. During this armed engagement between some 2500 members of the Sioux and
Cheyenne Indian nations and 600 Soldiers from the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the

High School Vs. College Life
As we go on in life we face many challenges and new situations that we deal with. A
new situation that most people deal with is on college and high school. School plays
one of the most significant stages in our lives. Many people spend more than 16
years to get an education in their life. Those years are different levels, some of them
are more entertaining than others. A student must pass through high schooland

college level are same, there is an important difference between them. Although high

The hours of credit classes are fixed by the administration in high school, without
any flexibility. Classes are distributed on annual basis. Students get many excuses
from missing classes, late submission of homework in high school whereas they
get to lose their grades in college life. In High School, teacher manages to take their
students to different educational excursion program, visit new places, parks, etc.,
whereas these are not done in college life. Parents can check for the grades of their
kids in high school, but in college life, it is considered as privacy. It is easy to make
friends in high school but in college life, it depends on common interest. These are
some of the experiences done by almost every individual in high school life.
College, on the other hand, is a choice if one wants to attend or not. An individual
who is attending college life usually pays for his own education. Since they pay for
their own education, they work hard enough to get success in their career. College
life has much freedom of time schedule. They are flexible to work and study as per
their need. This level prepares every individual to develop understanding and
maintain a good career in life. Therefore, an individual after finish college degree can
easily get a job. As soon as a person entered in college a sense of maturity comes to
him. They realize everything in college is materialistic and college level is very
practical. College life prepares
Why Does Sheed Insist That God Must Hold All Things Are

1.Why did God create us according to Sheed, and what does God have to gain
through our creation? Explain...
It s not as simple as it sounds. The question is actually a lot more complex to
explain so I will try my best to explain. God created us because He knew that beings
would enjoy existence, therefore, He gave them existence. It is a new light upon the
love of God that or gain could be a motive for his actions. They glorify him, but God
doesn t gain anything from creating us. We gain the ability to glorify God.
2.What is the difference between creating and making?
Creating is the act of making something exists from nothing and making it whole.
Making doesn t account for coming into existence and remaining in existence. So he

Explain what Sheed call the special function of man in the universe.
Sheed had a great explanation on Pg. 52, saying that we need to look at it in a
different way. Take the physical landscape of a sunrise; everything is nothing more
than objects as you see everything God bathed. Without man, spirit and matter would
be two spheres, not touching. Man belonging to one by his soul, to the other by his
body, joins them together. His body is not just an accident, it is essential if he is to
act his part in the universe.
8.What did people believe up to a century or so ago that has been painlessly dropped?
Everything happened four thousand years before the Christ of birth, but science
proved that is indeed false. Such a creation is appropriate to the Father, who within
the Blessed Trinity is Origin.
9.What was the view of St. Augustine concerning how one should interpret the book
of Genesis?
It shouldn t be taken literally whatsoever. It was made very clear not to do so. God
created the seeds that developed into our universe into a couple of theories.

Upton Sinclair s Use Of Biblical Allusions In Literature
Allusions distinctly impacts text in numerous ways. Biblical and historical allusions
are often the most recognizable in literature and each have their own significance.
Allusions are very beneficial in the text because they give new meaning to the text
and how it is represented throughout time; allusions in literature can also show new
interpretations of the other works as well. In The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Sinclair
uses biblical and historical allusions create an embellishment of imagery,
characterization, and the manifestation of government. An emphasis that can be
placed on allusions is in how imagery is portrayed. Bubbly Creek is described as
being constantly in motion, as if huge fish were feeding in it, or great leviathans
disporting themselves in its depths (pg 94). Sinclair used a biblical allusionto
demonstrate imagery using a leviathan, which is an enormous monster first
mentioned in the latter part of the book of Job in The Bible. The leviathan is
enormous and has an indescribable amount of strength and can penetrate a double
layer of armor. The contents of Bubbly Creek have an equivalence of a leviathan,
which shows how much power Bubbly Creek possesses; as well as how nothing
else could ever equate to it in size and its unrestrained moves. Another biblical
allusion that Sinclair uses is the Egyptian plague of flies in the book of Exodus
and with the hot weather descended upon Packingtown a veritable Egyptian
plague of flies; there could be no describing this the houses would be black with
them (pg 104). Sinclair uses this allusion to exemplify how horrid the conditions
were in Packingtown, the plague of flies in The Bible is described as being so
dense in the Pharaoh s palace and the rest of Egypt was covered and ruined by the
flies. The conditions had to have been so horrible and hot, as well as the potential
of rotting meat in Packingtown to bring about so many flies; it was that awful and
disgusting. Historical allusions also leave an impression on literature. Such as the
historical allusion that Sinclair made to the Bessemer Furnace, where they made
billets of steel a domelike building, the size of a big theater (pg 206). The Bessemer
furnace was an invention created 50 years

Documentum was founded by Howard Shao and John Newton in 1990. These two
database engineers after hearing about the problems their customers at Ingress were
faced when they tried to put several documents from different departments together,
decided to create software that would allow the management of unstructured
information as documents and hence they created what they called Enterprise
document management . Currently that term has evolved to what is now called

Furthermore Companies also faced the risk that the startup would run out of money
and also lack proven execution experience. Also the technology that Documentum
uses while revolutionary has been only tested with two companies Boeing and
Syntex it will be very difficult to explain to potential clients what exactly the software
can bring to them in terms of value and what exactly are the ramifications of using
the software in their companies.
Opportunities
Because Documentum s technology is something new and its concept is
revolutionary selecting a target market presents a challenge. There are many
companies that could benefit from this type of software especially in the areas
where the software has already been tested: aircraft maintenance and pharmaceutical
NDA. According to the case, management has retained 5 scenarios (Exhibit 6) that
followed a process developed by Geoffrey Moore. The real problem lies on how
does Documentum goes about selling the product do they go about it vertically or
horizontally?
Threats
The major threats that we can discern is the fact that the technology is revolutionary
in itself and that those types of technological advances are most of the time adopted
by early visionaries. Furthermore explaining the technology to potential clients can
become a challenge because the clients themselves don t know what they are looking
for and might also not be willing to consider the expenditures involved in such a
project.

Sementation and Target Market Paper

Walmart Corporation Upon opening a business, a company must decide where to
place the business and how to market the company. This is not an easy task if several
businesses of the same industry are located in the same neighborhood. Before the
company can open, a new business must choose what market they want to reach and
the best way to reach them. The company must also determine the psychographic and
behavioral characteristics of each market the company is trying to reach. The
following is information on how Walmart Corporation chooses their geographic,

Under these groups, brand aspirationals are individuals with low income who like
brand name products such as KitchenAid or Black Decker. Price sensitive affluents
are individuals with higher incomes who love deals and get a brand name for lower
prices. Value priced shoppers are those of lower income and do not have extra funds
to spend, so they are looking for the lowest price possible (Ryan, 2007).
Behavioral Segmentation Behavioral segmentation is the process of placing
consumers in different categories on the basis of knowledge of, attitude toward,
use of, or response to a product (Kotler Keller, 2012). To successfully market a
specific product Walmart will want to keep in mind the three core groups that have
been created. According to Ryan, all product decisions the company makes will be
based on the three core groups (2007). Feedback from these groups will help the
company determine what products that sell best and those products the company can
eliminate because they do not sell.
Positioning Statement The success of Walmart is paramount, but the company was
not without customer loyalty issues. According to Kotler and Keller, a brand
position is the act of designing a company s offering and image to occupy a
distinctive place in the minds of the target market (2012, p. 276). The company s
original positioning statement for the longest time was
Urate Pro-Oxidant Summary
The pro oxidant effects of urate could be the link between hyperuricemia and
inflammatory disease, yet the mechanism is poorly understood. In humans urate
builds up in our serum from dietary purine. Urate is an antioxidant of reactive oxygen
species, yet, high serum urate (hyperuricemia) is associated with gout, metabolic
syndrome and cardiovascular disease. The link between hyperuricemia and
inflammatory disease is oxidative stress. Urate acts as a pro oxidant by generating
reactive oxygen species and promoting the oxidation of LDL. Urate s switch from
antioxidant to pro oxidant could be concentration dependent, ergo the dose makes the
poison .
Novel oxidant urate Hydroperoxide could be responsible for the pro oxidant effects

The lakers had superstar talent and one of the best coaches in NBA history.
Everyone thought this was the end for the mavericks in the play offs. But really
the Mavs just went complete attack mode and blew out the lakers in only 4 games.
As the Mavericks won all the games of the series. Both players and fans were
gaining momentum and suddenly, the Mavericks were one of the contending
favorites of the West. The time came for the Western Conference finals, winner of
the series would advance to the NBA finals. The Mavericks were going up against
a young inexperienced Oklahoma City Thunder. All the main players were under
25 years old, which none barley even had playoff experience. Clearly, people and
fans had the Mavericks as the favorites to win and advance. The Mavericks
exploded in the series, beating the thunder in 5 games. Individually, Dirk Nowitzki
had averaged more than 30 point across the series. But the Mavericks still had an
enormous obstacle in front of them from taking it

INTRODUCTION

Over the next couple of weeks Mexico s reserves dropped nearly $4 billion, to
$121вЃ„2 billion. The reasons for renewed pressure on the peso in mid December are
unclear. Banco de Mexico cites several factors, пѓ the negative effects of higher
real interest rates on financial intermediaries and debtors, пѓ market worries that the
current account deficit would be difficult to finance in 1995, пѓ a breakdown in
negotiations with the rebels in Chiapas. It is also possible that leaked rumors of
changes in exchange rate policy set off another round of capital flight. In any event,
over three days Mexico lost another $1.5 billion in reserves.
SCENARIO IN MEXICO
Despite its good fiscal situation, Mexico had a substantial current account deficit
during the early 1990s, and some observers believed this deficit indicated that the
peso needed to be devalued.

The Mexican Peso Crisis 1994
The Mexican government and others insisted that the current account deficit was not
a concern because it was caused by a private capital inflow that was financing
investment spending, not by fiscal deficits or excessive
Compare And Contrast Erasmus And Luther
Erasmus and Luther on The Reformation
Religion was understood as the upmost critical part of a person s life during the
European Middle Ages. Christians believed the only way to Heaven was through
good works. To gain penance for their sins, Christians would travel on pilgrimages to
complete a journey to a holy site. When popes began to abuse papal authority during
this time, Christians could pay indulgences to be forgiven of their committed sins.
Papal authority had been corrupted by practices which were not Biblical through
proposing that Christians could be saved by payment, and not by accepting God s
grace. Because of these actions, attention was drawn to the foundations of the
doctrine of the Church. The Church was in need of fixing. Two reformers, Desiderius
Erasmus and Martin Luther, spoke out to do this. Both Erasmus and Luther desired to
reform the church because they had similar viewpoints on the abusive power. The
way that the two decided to go about reformation was different. Erasmus was poor,
humanist, and reserved, whereas Luther was not poor, a theologian, and bold.
Although Erasmus and Luther shared a common goal for Christians to live by the
scripture, similarities and differences were present in their approach to church reform
due to their past experiences, education received, and amount of audacity.
To begin, the past experiences of Erasmus and Luther affected their approach to
reformation. Desiderius Erasmus was born in 1466 and died in 1536.
Essay On Dystopian Novels
Dystopian novels are some of my favorite types of books. Books such The Hunger
Games, Divergent, and The Fifth Wave, as well as The Maze Runner, are all
dystopian themed stories. The Fearless, written by Emma Pass, is one of those
stories. I love dystopian books, there is something incredibly fascinating about a
world where we are no longer in control. Usually, it is the government that is corrupt
and the cause of the problems within the novel, like the Capitol in The Hunger Games
and Jeanine in Divergent. Here, though, the government is not actually the bad guy.
The Fearless is about a virus, in a way. It was created by a group of scientists
looking to eradicate the effects of PTSD in soldiers while they were still in combat
situations. As usual, it started off innocent enough but it soon got out of control. Not
only did this vaccine take away ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cassie, who now goes by Cass, breaks the number one rule of Hope Island to go
after her brother. The laws of Hope state that if anyone is kidnapped by the fearless,
they are considered dead unless they return on their own volition and unaltered.
Cass, of course, goes after her brother with the help of who I immediately deemed
the lover interest. His name is Myo, and he is wonderful.
I love the fact that this book is told from three points of view, Cass, Myo, and Sol.
Sol is Cassie s childhood friend, his father is the one that created Hope Island. I
also really liked the fact that romance was not the central plot of this book. Don t
get me wrong, I love romance in books, but it would have hindered the story here.
It is still there, it just isn t the main plot. The whole point of the book is Cassie and
Myo teaming up to rescue their respective siblings. Of course, attraction blooms
along the way but it takes forever for it to boil over into anything

High Quality Essay

  • 1. High Quality Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "High Quality Essay" presents a paradoxical challenge. The irony lies in the pressure to meet the very standards the topic advocates. The expectation for excellence becomes a formidable hurdle, akin to a writer attempting to capture the essence of brilliance while navigating the intricate dance of words. To begin with, defining "high quality" in the context of an essay requires a nuanced understanding of academic rigor, eloquence, and relevance. The task involves an intricate balance between originality and adherence to established conventions. It's not merely about stringing together a sequence of words but rather about weaving a tapestry of thoughts that engages, informs, and resonates with the audience. Navigating through the labyrinth of ideas, the writer must grapple with the challenge of standing out amidst the sea of information. Crafting a unique perspective on the subject demands not only a deep dive into the topic but also the finesse to present it in a manner that captivates the reader. This process involves a meticulous dance with language, where each word is a brushstroke contributing to the larger portrait of the essay. Moreover, the writer must be adept at conducting extensive research to underpin their arguments with credible evidence. The pursuit of quality necessitates a commitment to accuracy and a discerning eye for reliable sources. This meticulous approach, though commendable, adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process. Furthermore, the challenge extends to the revision and refinement stage. Achieving high quality requires a keen editorial eye, where every sentence is scrutinized for clarity, coherence, and conciseness. The writer must be prepared to engage in multiple revisions, polishing their prose until it gleams with the brilliance befitting the topic. In the end, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of "High Quality Essay" lies not only in meeting the elevated expectations set by the theme itself but also in transcending those expectations to deliver a piece that embodies the essence of excellence. For those seeking assistance in this intricate endeavor, a variety of resources are available. • 2. Synthesis Of Grignard Reagent And Benzaldehyde Introduction: This experiment involved the synthesis of diphenylmethanal from phenylmagnesium bromide which is a Grignard reagent, and benzaldehyde which is a carbonyl group. The goal of this experiment was to investigate the ability of the Grignard reaction to yield the theoretical predicted product and evaluate its efficiency. The Grignard reactionis an important reaction because of its ability to allow the formation of carboncarbon bonds. These formations of C C sigma bonds, then allow for the formation or making of large or complex synthetic molecules from very simple reagents. These complex molecules are then used in many different areas such as the pharmaceutical industry. Also, one must note that Grignard reagents are strong nucleophiles that can attack carbonyl groups that can form substituted alcohols after the protonation step. The reaction occurred as follows. The first step consisted in the formation of the Grignard reagent. That was done through the use of an organic halide provided in the lab and Magnesium. The organic halide used was bromobenzene. The second step consisted of reacting the Grignard reagent formed in the first step with benzaldehyde. The third and final step consisted of using the product of the second step and diluting it with HCl (Hydrochloric Acid). Finally, the product obtained of this whole reaction was diphenylmethonal ( please refer to the drawing below for a more visual approach). The creation of this product can also be
  • 3. Basketball in NS Essay Basketball was first introduced to Nova Scotia as early as 1895 but in the past thirty years the popularity of the sport has really taken off. The high concentration of universities in the province, the tradition and esteem of the high school programs, and the continued support from a large and knowledgeable basketball community have made the game a staple of NovaScotia life, culminating with the capital city of Halifaxbecoming known as the basketball capital of Canada. When you talk about basketball in the Maritimes you can break it down into different levels of competition. There are the club systems throughout the province, the regional and provincial teams, then high school basketball, then you have to look at intercollegiate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another first time winner was Halifax West as traditional powerhouses from Queen Elizabeth and St. Patrick s faced greater competition. Another sign of the game s popularity was the fact that it was being played in the summer time. After watching rare broadcasts of NBA playoffs, in which one of the halftime events was pitting the greatest players in the game one on one, this format was adopted in Halifax and tournaments were held with the winner gaining bragging rights throughout the city. At the university level, Brian Heaney took over as coach of the St. Mary s Huskies. The former Acadia superstar took over the Huskies in 1971 and for the next eight years under his reign St. Mary s replaced Acadia as the premiere basketball squad in the province. During the decade St. Mary s won the national championships in 1973, 78, and 79 respectively and reached the finals on two other occasions. The Axemen remained highly competitive and won the nationals in 1971 and 1977. • 4. Negative Impact Of Technology Technology; the rise or fall of our existing generations? Research has shown that technology impacts our thinking and mental processes. Unfortunately, the impacts do not appear to be in our favor. There are four categories that the negative impacts from technology usage, on the human mind, divide into. The categories are memoryloss, alterations in our learning styles, adverse impacts on focus, and a diminishing mental importance of the physical world around you. The first of the problems is memory loss. It is becoming more prevalent in the younger generations due to the surrounding fast paced world, and there are two impacts from this. The first impact has been coined with the term digital dementia , referring to the breakdown of cerebral abilities caused from overusing technology (Jessica Gwen). According to Gwen, people who overuse technology could develop short term memory loss due to the lessening of intellectual performance. The second impact is known as lateralization of brain function which is the imbalance of the brain. This imbalance occurs when the right side of the brain is trying to develop thinking skills instead of using its purpose as being creative and emotional. This means the right side of the brain is damaged, causing difficulties with memory and concentration. Therefore, digital dementia and the imbalance of the brain is caused by an overuse of technology since the brain is no longer required to remember or memorize; only to locate, since the answers

Blanche Dubois Character Traits Mr. Tim Kelley ENG 272 10 Nov 2015 Character Analysis of Blanche DuBoise In the play A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams portrays Blanch DuBoise as the character who suffers inner struggles all through her life. She is a fallen woman in the eyes of society. She would prefer to live in her own imagination. Her name is befitting for her in that she acts more as a woman of the night she would rather be out at night or in the dim lights. She is a southern woman on all counts who lives in Laurel, Mississippi. Her life has been full of disappointments, death, and sexual propriety. Through her misfortunes, she becomes more unstable. She wants to create a life within her life to cope with all the stresses of her reality. Blanche is unable to find an escape from herself. She finds herself as a victim at the hands of her sister s husband. Blanche hopes for new beginnings when she leaves Belle Reve from which she has been evicted. She moves to New Orleans to be with Stella, her sister, and her husband Stanley. Leonard Berkman pities her and views her as a misunderstood character, a tragic figure trying to start a new life for herself in New Orleans (34). As much as she tries, she can never fully gain peace. The name Williams chose for her character causes some speculations and opposition among critics. There are those who see it as a name of purity, but others think Williams is trying to play with the critics. Critic Nicholas Pagan suggests that Blanche

Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources from less to more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most. This process of exchange does not face many obstacles when the parties to a transaction can perform their obligations in a simultaneous manner. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. This is why protection of contract rights is essential. While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any form of contract law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward economic activity that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce efficiency in the market and lead to misallocation of resources. Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect how parties interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him. The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.

Examples Of Realism In Daisy Miller Psychological Realism in Daisy Miller Written by Henry James, Daisy Miller is a novella that first appeared in Cornhill magazine in 1878 and later published in 1879. The novella narrates the courtship of a young beautiful American girl called Daisy Miller by Winterbourne, a sophisticated young American turned European man, whose efforts to win her heart has been derailed by Daisy Miller s flirtatiousness and care free life, which has been frowned upon by the community in Geneva and Rome. And while the author chooses the protagonist s name to be the title of his novella, he makes Winterbourne be the first person narrator. While this is undeniable, it is true that Daisy has been psychologized and that the function of the girl Daisy is to act as a plot device and a representation of the American innocence in Europe. According to Ohmann, James began writing with one attitude towards his heroine and concluded with a second and different attitude towards her (2). What Ohmann is trying to say is that Daisy is depicted as an innocent, flirtatious young woman, mostly unmindful of her society s degree of judgment, which is a reflection of an emerging American class. In his description of Daisy Miller novella, Johnson states that a compelling feminist counter narrative of American womanhood defined by freedom despite social constraints (41). Even when observing the facts we see that this coin is most definitely two sided, the information can be and is interpreted in a number of ways depending on which side of the issue you stand. Within this paper I am going to examine both sides of argument with sources from two films, Are We Changing Planet Earth, Global Warming: Hype or Hazard? and a book, This Borrowed Earth: 15 Lesson from the worst environmental disasters around the world by Robert Emmet Hernan. The first side I m going to discuss is the Pro side. That is, the side with supporters claiming global climate changeis both real, likely anthropological and must be addressed immediately. The arguments on this side tend to observe measurable changes in our environment in the past several hundred to several thousand years, observing previous trends and attempting to match them with future expectations, then comparing them with current realities. City Upon A Hill Essay For the Puritans in the early New England colonies life was by no means easy, but there was the possibility to expand their beliefs free from the persecution from Church of England. They had the opportunity to create their ideal society under God with the bible as their law from which they would define how to live. The Puritans set out to create their model society which could spread and cull the impurities from the church. But how did these beliefs and goals ultimately effect their society? In the book Give Me Liberty: An American History by Eric Foner he notes that: Puritanism, however, was not simply a set of ideas but a state of mind, a zealousness in pursuing the true faiththat alienated many who held differing religious views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In their society the Puritans based their lives, beliefs, and communities on what they deemed as God s law and true word, the bible (Barger). With their lives being restricted to the word of the bible this left very little leeway for anything other than what was deemed acceptable, and this rigid way of life was another straw that led to the eventual troubles and fervor that took over. The Puritans ultimate goal was for their ideal society, their City Upon A Hill, a model Christian society. According to Dr. Terry Matthew in Puritanism in America They did not come to this country to find a place to practice freedom of worship. Instead, they came to find a place where their true religion could flourish. They wanted to influence more than just their communities and those surrounding, they wanted to influence the Church of England and further in the hopes of purifying those that had strayed from what they deemed as the true and righteous path all by showing the way by their hard fast examples. These goals that the Puritans strived to achieve both at home and abroad placed a great amount of stress on the people and community. They were always working for their model society and for them their true leader was God. Puritans believed in the

Internationally, fragility was evident in the run of financial crises that afflicted the global economy in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and it has surfaced again in the recent U.S. sub prime mortgage crisis that spread to Europe. Furthermore, there are serious reservations about the sustainability of the financialization process. The last two decades have been marked by rapidly rising household debt income ratios and corporate debt equity ratios. These developments explain both the system s growth and increasing fragility, but they also indicate unsustainability because debt constraints must eventually bite. The risk is when this happens the economy could be vulnerable to debt deflation and prolonged recession. These macroeconomic concerns are compounded by concerns about income distribution. Thus, the era of financialization has witnessed a disconnection of wages 3 from productivity growth, raising serious concerns regarding wage stagnation and widening income and wealth inequality (Mishel et al. 2007). The financialization thesis is that these changes in macroeconomic patterns and income distribution are significantly attributable to financial sector developments. Those developments have relaxed constraints on access to finance and increased the influence of the financial sector over the non financial sector. For households this has enabled greatly

She goes on to explain that homophobia, hypersexism, antisocial behavior, and violent tendancies seem to have become defining characteristics of hip hop as a whole. Essentially, Tricia Rose s definition of hip hop wars can be summarized as: the pushing and pulling between the forces of good and evil within a movement that has begun to develop undesirable qualities. She offers an array of critical analyzations in support and in opposition of hip hop. One of the more prominent criticisms of hip that Rose points out is that there is a large amount of misplaced blame in the world of hip hop. She writes, increasingly, too many of hip hop s supporters point to structural racismto explain the origins of the problem but refuse to link these structural forces to individual action and to the power of media seduction (p. 73). It was only at the end of the play that Hamlet redeems himself from his mistakes in life. This is when he achieves catharsis, the end or goal of tragedy (1186). • 26. Federal RICO Statutes Essay RICO, which stands for Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, was created in 1970 by the United States Government as a way to help courts fight organized crime. These types of organized crime are often called white collar crimes and they can range from fraud and embezzlement to bribery. Before RICO was established it was far too easy for a person higher up the ladder or ranks of a company or gang to dodge any sort of prosecution for their actions simply because they were not the person who actually did whatever deeds that were being prosecuted. Instead, said person would hold to the liability of others for acting out on their orders, making such persons the only viable criminal, because they were the ones who actively... What these rubrics ensure is that it is able to be proven that a project or business was or is organized and was or is operating in attempts to make profit by illegal means. It must be proven with evidence or testimony that the defendants partook of these activities in order to keep their high level status or to gain status within the business. It may also be noted that the two incidents of racketeering need to have occurred within ten years of one another in order to uphold RICO laws. Also, many states have created their own RICO like laws that envelop and uphold many of the statutes of RICO itself, in attempts to prevent any loophole activity from occurring. If a conviction is apprehended then the defendant(s) is often subject to pay back numerous monetary sums including but not limited to, funds that were accrued during the illegal activity, treble damages, as well as court and attorney fees. • 27. Exploring The Roots Of The Recurring Subjects And Symbols... After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally developed a pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed early on would come to define the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively Christian images. Early Christians adopted classical conventions for their art, which would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and initiates. For outsiders, the symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are loaded with meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose of this paper is to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in the funerary paintings in Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome. Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early Christian art. An exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network of underground burial systems: the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning in the third century CE, the Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich and poor, and extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything, the art style is a more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall painting. The use of iconography is

The Collective Bargaining And Negotiation Process Almost everyone employed by a school district may participate in a collective bargaining unit or an organized group of job positions represented by an association. The association then participates in a joint decision making process, involving direct negotiations to determine wages, hours of work or other terms and conditions of employment for all employees in that unit. The collective bargaining process between a board of education and any association of united teachers, service personnel or administrators can have a wide range of effects for everyone involved in that district and community, especially the students. The regional school district being utilized for this review is that of a large regional school district, serving about 7,000 students in grades 9 through 12, in the largest county in the state. It is an affluent community of parents and community members from eight municipalities who recognize the value of education and actively support the schools. Historically, teachers, parents and administrators within the district have enjoyed a good, working relationship. As a result of this ongoing positive relationship, the collective bargaining and negotiation processes between the four associations in the district are relatively downplayed and quiet. Several associations negotiate collective bargaining agreements with the regional the local teacher s education association, public school employee association, district administrators association, and the

This boy was given a watch from his father to keep until he got back from war. The story went on about how the boy never lost hope, and his father eventually came home. Then they lived happily ever after. Unfortunately, I am reluctant to inform you that Ralph s story does not end in a happy ending. Sylvia Plath s 1963 novel The Bell Jar , Tennessee Williams 1947 play A Streetcar Named Desire and William Shakespeare s 1603 play Hamlet , share many similarities, albeit there are also differences, in the way in which the themes of death and decay are presented. Sylvia Plath s poor mental health, which subsequently lead to her suicide on February 11th 1963, may be seen to be reflected in her novel, The Bell Jar . Death may be deemed to have a lack of meaning throughout her novel due to the casual manner in which the protagonist and narrator, Esther Greenwood, deals with death. Esther s father passed away when she was nine years old, and she feels that his death marked the point at which she changed, resulting in her mental health becoming unstable. However, along with her mother, she had never cried for [her] father s death (p.159). This clearly demonstrates how Esther deals with death; it is a necessary part of life, and to Esther, as aforementioned, her mental health has caused her to view death as more desirable than sitting under the same glass bell jar, stewing in [her] own sour air (p. 178). Moreover, Esther s numerous attempts at suicide remind the reader that Esther believes the only way out is death. For example, in Chapter Thirteen, Esther asks her friend Cal, how he would kill

  • 36. Upton Sinclair s Use Of Biblical Allusions In Literature Allusions distinctly impacts text in numerous ways. Biblical and historical allusions are often the most recognizable in literature and each have their own significance. Allusions are very beneficial in the text because they give new meaning to the text and how it is represented throughout time; allusions in literature can also show new interpretations of the other works as well. In The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Sinclair uses biblical and historical allusions create an embellishment of imagery, characterization, and the manifestation of government. An emphasis that can be placed on allusions is in how imagery is portrayed. Bubbly Creek is described as being constantly in motion, as if huge fish were feeding in it, or great leviathans disporting themselves in its depths (pg 94). Sinclair used a biblical allusionto demonstrate imagery using a leviathan, which is an enormous monster first mentioned in the latter part of the book of Job in The Bible. The leviathan is enormous and has an indescribable amount of strength and can penetrate a double layer of armor. The contents of Bubbly Creek have an equivalence of a leviathan, which shows how much power Bubbly Creek possesses; as well as how nothing else could ever equate to it in size and its unrestrained moves. Another biblical allusion that Sinclair uses is the Egyptian plague of flies in the book of Exodus and with the hot weather descended upon Packingtown a veritable Egyptian plague of flies; there could be no describing this the houses would be black with them (pg 104). Sinclair uses this allusion to exemplify how horrid the conditions were in Packingtown, the plague of flies in The Bible is described as being so dense in the Pharaoh s palace and the rest of Egypt was covered and ruined by the flies. The conditions had to have been so horrible and hot, as well as the potential of rotting meat in Packingtown to bring about so many flies; it was that awful and disgusting. Historical allusions also leave an impression on literature. Such as the historical allusion that Sinclair made to the Bessemer Furnace, where they made billets of steel a domelike building, the size of a big theater (pg 206). The Bessemer furnace was an invention created 50 years

There are many companies that could benefit from this type of software especially in the areas where the software has already been tested: aircraft maintenance and pharmaceutical NDA. According to the case, management has retained 5 scenarios (Exhibit 6) that followed a process developed by Geoffrey Moore. The real problem lies on how does Documentum goes about selling the product do they go about it vertically or horizontally? Threats The major threats that we can discern is the fact that the technology is revolutionary in itself and that those types of technological advances are most of the time adopted by early visionaries. • 44. Compare And Contrast Erasmus And Luther Erasmus and Luther on The Reformation Religion was understood as the upmost critical part of a person s life during the European Middle Ages. Christians believed the only way to Heaven was through good works. To gain penance for their sins, Christians would travel on pilgrimages to complete a journey to a holy site. When popes began to abuse papal authority during this time, Christians could pay indulgences to be forgiven of their committed sins. Papal authority had been corrupted by practices which were not Biblical through proposing that Christians could be saved by payment, and not by accepting God s grace. Because of these actions, attention was drawn to the foundations of the doctrine of the Church. The Church was in need of fixing. Two reformers, Desiderius Erasmus and Martin Luther, spoke out to do this. Both Erasmus and Luther desired to reform the church because they had similar viewpoints on the abusive power. The way that the two decided to go about reformation was different. Erasmus was poor, humanist, and reserved, whereas Luther was not poor, a theologian, and bold. Although Erasmus and Luther shared a common goal for Christians to live by the scripture, similarities and differences were present in their approach to church reform due to their past experiences, education received, and amount of audacity. To begin, the past experiences of Erasmus and Luther affected their approach to reformation. Desiderius Erasmus was born in 1466 and died in 1536.
