It is identified the proximity of universities and supporting services are two of such stimulating

Estate Income Tax Return Essay
Soon after receiving the plan to complete the Estate Income Tax Returns, I began to execute the
plan. As described in the article The Estate Income Tax Returns: The Plan to Complete the Returns,
the plan, in part, involved distributing the proceeds of the rental property sale and paying out tax
deductible expenses. However, before I could carry out my portion of the plan, I had to complete
the following important tasks:
Mail W 9 forms to a couple of beneficiaries not willing to give their social security number through
email or by phone.
Contact the two charities for their tax id numbers.
Contact the attorney and tax professional for invoices.
So, once the requested information arrives, I could begin to execute the plan.

Finally, the estate was at the point where I could distribute estate property. Since the beneficiaries
weren t expecting much from the estate, they were about to receive an unexpected surprise.
However, I couldn t let the excitement affect the work that still remains.
The will provided for a twisted distribution formula and I had to get it right. So, I wrote a draft of
the distribution and had the attorney and tax professional look it over. They both approved of the
distribution and, at that point, I wrote out the checks. Along with the checks, I included a letter
explaining that this is the first distribution of three. The next distribution will distribute the last of
the estate property, and the third distribution was to close out what remains in the estate account.
To get the beneficiaries feeling giddy, I told them that the first distribution consisted of only the
proceeds from the sale of the rental property, which accounted for about a third of the estate value.
So, after reading this letter, I am sure the beneficiaries would feel pleasantly surprised. If not

Emperor Hadrian Research Paper
The three major accomplishments of the Emperor Hadrian
Have you ever wondered how Rome was so great? I am going to tell you about one person who
contributed many things to make the Roman Empire greater than it already was. The Emperor
Hadrian was born in Italica, Spain in AD 76. His father died when he was young, so his cousin the
Emperor Trajan became his guardian. Trajan became the emperor in AD 98. He didn t like Trajan s
aggressive policies so he worked hard to bring peace to Rome. He became known for the personal
attention he paid to the Roman provinces. During his reign he undertook many building projects. I
m just going to tell you the three major ones. The three major accomplishments of the Emperor
Hadrian are Hadrian s Wall, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the largest and most beautiful Roman temple. It was designed by the emperor Hadrian
himself. It was consecrated in AD 121. But the construction didn t start until AD 125. It was
dedicated ten years later and was finished by Hadrian s successor Antoninus Pius. Finished
sometime between AD 140 and 145. It was also damaged by a fire in AD 307. It was restored by
the emperor Maxentius. It had two adjoining sacred inner chambers. In each chamber there were
two cult statues, Venus Felix ancestor of the Roman people and Roma Aeterna the genius of the
city. It s on the slope of Velia Hill, with the arch of Titus at one corner and the Via Sacra passing
down its flank. It effectively joins the Forum and the Colosseum. In AD 131 132 Hadrian
dedicated the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens. The Temple of Olympian Zeus is very
similar to the Temple of Venus and Roma. North both was surrounded by a paved court enclosed
by a portico from which the stylobate could be approached by steps on four sides. Both temples
are peripteral having columns on four sides and dipteral with two rows of twenty columns on the
long side. The Temple of Olympian Zeus is octostyle with eight columns across the principle
façade, rather than ten like the Temple of Venus and Roma. The burning of incense to Roma and
Venus may have been among the very last acts of such veneration in Rome. The temple itself had

The Pacific Bluefin Tuna Is An Valuable Valued Specie
Introduction The Pacific Bluefin Tuna is an incredibly valued specie who has been doomed for
decades. Although the IUCN has listed this specie as vulnerable, they are far becoming more
endangered to the point of extinction. Their population remains at 4% of what they were before
commercial fishers began capturing them by the thousands (The IUCN Red List, 2014). The
Pacific Bluefin Tunais one of the largest and fastest fishes in the ocean. Their are three distinctions
of the Bluefin Tuna; the Southern, Atlantic, and in this case, the Pacific which is located primarily
in the northern hemisphere of the Pacific Ocean. They are special species because they can easily

Overfishing is a problem because Bluefin Tuna is responsible for keeping population numbers in
check, thus creating detrimental effects if the biodiversity were to be threaten and the ecosystem
were to become imbalanced. Furthermore, the Bluefin Tuna have fallen victim to becoming
targeted and non targeted species by fisherman. Purse seine fishing is the number one fishing
method used to catch the Tuna. However, long line fishing also poses as a threat because they are
unintentionally caught in by catches, creating an unnecessary waste. In addition, studies
demonstrate that Japan has the largest number of catches. Japan s economy has the most to loose if
they do not protect their valued specie. They have made little efforts for change and the ISC
concluded that current levels of fishing have now become unsustainable. It has been concluded that
this stock will continue to decline in 2018 (Nickson, 2018). This specie has fallen a tragedy of the
commons model due to individuals trying to gain the greatest benefit, without realizing what the
long term effects would be when the demands of the resource overwhelms the supply. This will hurt
the well being of multiple societies, and most important, the well being of the Bluefin Tuna. The
ISC stated that these species need new management plans to ensure it s sustainability. With
conservation efforts of the IATTC and WCPFC, there will be a plan for rebuilding spawning
populations, placing a

Cultural Capital And Inequality
Cultural capital and field results in inequality for a number of reasons. Cultural capital has to do
with capital resources such as skills learned and specific knowledge pertaining to certain
subjects. It also has to do with skills and behaviors learned at home. Field has to do with a social
institution such as a school. These two things result in inequality because of the way children are
brought up and how involved they are in social institutions. When a child is involved in a
multitude extracurricular activities, they are more likely to succeed in school because they have a
more stable schedule and not as much free time so they are forced to learn time management. Often
times schools favor middle class cultural capitalbecause middle class

Is Cannibalism Is Wrong
Now through the analysis of the scripture it is made clear that cannibalism is an abomination to
God, and that the ones who have part taken in this have been cursed. In other words, the Catholic
Church did follow the teachings of the Bible, and had a basis to expunge such practice. Another
interpretation one could get from the passage is that it is parallel to that of the indigenous people.
Both the Israelites and the indigenous people both had their temples and idols torn down and
destroyed. Which biblically shows that when people do commit the abomination of cannibalism
then it is the right thing to do to turn away from that sin and turn back to God.
However, this is not the only change the Roman Catholic Church made. Smith also said native
deities were replaced by Christian saints, (Smith, 1). This can easily be interpreted as instead of
the indigenous people worshiping their gods as they were already doing, the Church just shifted
their worship to the saints. Which biblically is still wrong, because this goes against the very first
commandment which reads, 6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of
Egypt, from the house of bondage. 7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me. (Due. 5, 6 7).
Although the Catholic Church had the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This is incorrect because although there are some positive outcomes because of magazine
advertisements, there are far more negative ones. Wanting to be healthy and having a source of
entertainment isn t nearly as serious as eating disorders and depression which are just some of the
negative effects caused by magazine ads. In The Best Women s Health and Fitness Magazines it
explains, The report, which says young women look at thin models and see themselves as fat in
comparison, calls on broadcasters and magazine publishers to use a more realistic range of body
images. It also suggests society should put more emphasis on better eating and health to increase
awareness about the impact of poor nutrition and dieting on young women. The evidence states that
since women are getting heavier, we should use more models with a realistic body shape. Most
women do not look like the photoshopped models in the magazine advertisements, so seeing them
causes women to feel depressed about their own body and wanting to change it which could also
lead to eating disorders. Since magazine advertisements exist, they send unhealthy signals to young

Descriptive Writing On An Invention
For the past five years my friends Tristen, Alice, Courtney, Leo, and I, Ruby, have been working
on an invention to help cure tons of diseases. We spent our hours between classes, nights, and
days working on Invention. After all the time working and designing it, we hadn t put any
thought into the name and started calling it Invention. I had come up with the original design and
idea for it, but none of us had been able to get Invention to work. My dorm room had a special
cabinet for all of the prototypes we made of Invention, so far none of them had been able to work.
Courtney and Tristen called everyone together for another late night working on Invention. We all
met in the library that was on the college campus. I carried in my bookbag and Invention, meeting
Courtney, Alice, and Tristen who were seated at a table in the back of the library.
Should we start without Leo? I sat Invention in the middle of the table carefully and my book bag
on the ground, leaning up against the chair I sat down in. My friends nodded and started setting up
the table with our supplies.
Alice pulled out three colored notebooks, setting them up on the table and I pulled my laptop out
of my backpack. Courtney and Tristen sat out a pack of paper that was laminated with some of the
designs they had come up with.
Before I knew it, it was almost three o clock in the morning. I had been able to go over everything
we had talked about and work on Invention. The last few hours of the night were a blur, I was on
the verge of falling asleep and eventually I did fall asleep.
*******
I woke up later in the morning to Courtney yelling at me, Ruby, wake up! We almost got Invention
to work! Hurry up, everyone else is in the tech lab.
I bolted up and gathered all of my belongings. Courtney was already halfway across the library by
time I had gotten up from my spot.
Courtney and I hurried to the tech lab that was on the other side of campus. I felt like I was
sprinting as Courtney tugged at my arm for me to hurry up. Ten minutes later we were standing
outside of the tech lab. Courtney pushed the door open as fast as possible and pulled me in with
her. Invention was sitting in the middle of the room as Alice, Leo, and Tristen were sitting on

Hypnosis And Pain Case Study
Introduction
When considering hypnosis and pain, it becomes important to first provide working definitions of
the concepts. Since both hypnosis and pain really heavily on patient assessments and self
evaluations, it becomes essential that all ensuing research is discussed on common ground.
First let us consider hypnosis. The Oxford Handbook of Hypnosis: Theory, Research and Practice
mentions two elements that should be considered when defining hypnosis: hypnosis as procedure
and hypnosis as product. The first element of this definition hypnosis as procedure involves two
necessary components: an introduction and the first suggestion. As described by the book, the
introduction includes informing the subject that hypnosis involves potential imaginative
experiences.
Case Studies One such example involves Harold Wain, the director of the Psychiatric Liaison
Service at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The case focused on a woman with a... Show

He noted that hypnosis alone, as in the relaxation effect produced by the hypnotic induction, did
little in terms of pain reduction. This indicates that the key to pain reduction through the use of
hypnosis revolves around the suggestions given during hypnosis rather than the process itself.
Hilgard also demonstrated that the mind is capable of hallucinating pain, although it was less
severe than the pain caused by the normal nonhypnotic state. As this also produced consistent
results, it can be generalized that verbal reports can provide significant results in experiments
involving pain for waking, hypnotic, and induced hallucination states. During these experiments,
Hilgard also examined the changes of heart rate and blood pressure during the trials. Unfortunately,
he was unable to determine significant differences between the varying states. This shows that
physiological indicators of pain shouldn t be used to determine the varying levels of subjects

my patient s concerns and helping my patient understand what the physician is telling them about
their illness. It is important that they feel they are not alone while they are in the hospital.

Firearms In America
Firearms seem to have such a strong impact on today s society in America. However, since so
many problems have arisen from these dangerous objects, many are calling for restrictions on
what the American public can and cannot have as far as weaponry goes. For instance, an AK 47
is pointless to sell to the public if the main reason that people get weapons is to hunt! There is
absolutely no reason that a deer needs thirty bullets shot straight through him to die. It only takes
one bullet. Unless, of course, the animal had a bulletproof vest on and a six inch thick shield of

Dred Scott Vs. Sanford Case
The Dred Scott vs. Sanford case was a huge decision in the history of our country. Dred Scott was
a slave who was owned by the Sanford family. The Sanford family moved Scott to a Wisconsin
territory, where slavery was prohibited under the Missouri Compromise, where he lived for 4
years working on and off to raise money for him and his family s freedom. Later on, the Sanford
family moved him back to St. Louis where Scott tried to buy him and his family freedom but
was denied by the Sanford family. Scott sued the Sanford s and made a case that he and his
family lived in a free area for an extended period of time making him legally free. The state court
declared him free but the wages that Scott had were withheld by the Sanford family who then
appealed the decision to make Scott free to the Missouri Court. The Missouri Court overturned
the decision to make Scott free and ruled in favor of the Sanford s. Scott then sued the Sanford s
again for physical abuse and the court would not rule on it because they said Scott was regarded
as a slave in Missouri territory. Scott then took the case to the U.S Supreme Court where they
wouldn t take the case because Scott was or had been a slave. Justice Taney declared that federal
courts could only hear cases brought to them by citizens of the U.S and that Scott was not a citizen
because his ancestors were imported from another country and they were slaves. Taney also states
that even though states could provide their own citizenship,

Adversity Horace Character Analysis
Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous conditions would have lain dormant
. These words of Horace are timeless and apply to almost all aspects of the human life. Horace
emphasizes to the audience that the bad times bring out the best in people, which would have gone
unnoticed if the times were solely flourishing. It truly takes treacherous conditions in order for
someone s character to be genuinely expressed. Sometimes this instinct happens naturally and goes
unnoticed, or they happen deliberately. The manner in which mortals act during these situations are
what builds their character to its true extent. Adversity and talent coincide with each other in order
to create life changing opportunities. Although there are several instances where our country, as a
whole has come together during tough times the attacks on September 11 is the most predominant
of them all. During this day the Twin Tower buildings were destructed by two planes, American
Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 being flown by a terrorist group, Al Quaida. In

Strategic brand management was crucial to associate BT with the appropriate qualities that its
target market would respond positively to. Steps undertaken by its founders included careful
choosing of the name Banyan Tree , a tree with its origins rooted in Asia and whose name evoked
a calming sense of nature, as well as the tagline Sanctuary for the Senses , which implied that the
resort was a safe haven away from the stresses of modern life.
Management then built the brand around public relations and direct marketing programmes to

holistic Banyan Tree experience . The photographs and collateral materials published in target
publications were always evocative, refined and low key, reaching out to couples attracted to the
qualities of romance, privacy and rejuvenation conveyed. The BT logo would be prominently

Formal Speech of Animal Farm By: George Orwell
Old Major, a prize winning boar, gathers the animals of the Manor Farm for a meeting in the big
barn. He tells them of a dream he has had in which all animals live together with no human beings
to oppress or control them. He tells the animals that they must work toward such a paradise and
teaches them a song called Beasts of England, in which his dream vision is lyrically described. The
animals greet Major s vision with great enthusiasm. When he dies only three nights after the
meeting, three younger pigs, Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer formulate his main principles into

Symbols: Animal Farm
Animal Farm, known at the beginning and the end of the novel as the Manor Farm, symbolizes
Russia and the Soviet Union under Communist Party rule. But more generally, Animal Farm stands
for any human society, be it capitalist, socialist, fascist, or communist. It possesses the internal
structure of a nation, with a government (the pigs), a police force or army (the dogs), a working
class (the other animals), and state holidays and rituals. Its location amid a number of hostile
neighboring farms supports its symbolism as a political entity with diplomatic concerns.
The Barn
The barn at Animal Farm, on whose outside walls the pigs paint the Seven Commandments and,
later, their revisions, represents the collective memory of a modern nation. The many scenes in
which the ruling class pigs alter the principles of Animalism and in which the working class
animals puzzle over but accept these changes represent the way an institution in power can revise
a community s concept of history to bolster its control. If the working class believes history to lie
on the side of their oppressors, they are less likely to question oppressive practices. Moreover, the
oppressors, by revising their nation s conception of its origins and development, gain control of the
nation s very identity, and the oppressed soon come to depend upon the authorities for their
communal sense of self.

American Research And Development Of An Atomic Bomb

wartime technology. Roosevelt authorized the research of nuclear weapons in January of 1942

Benefits Of The Minimum Legal Driving Age
Minimum legal driving age should not increase to age 18, due to accidents caused by teens.
Rising the driving age will not help decrease the rate of teen accidents. The foremost reason for
their high accident rate is because of lack of experience. Second are the distractions. This paper will
present why the minimum legal drivingage should not increase and the benefits for teens to begin
driving at age 16. Reasons why increasing the driving age will not reduce accident rate among
teens or new drivers is because they will still be in the stage of learning and maturing into
responsible adults and will lack the hands on driving experience from parents.
According to the Nation Teen Driving Statistics, a total of 2,823 teenagers ages 13 19 died in
motor vehicle crashes in 2012. In 2012, 60 percent of deaths among passenger vehicle occupants
ages 16 19 were drivers (RMIIA, 2015). Increasing the driving age due to immaturity would
cause mass punishment for the age group of 15 18 young drivers. What needs to happen is to
address the cause of most motor vehicle accidents and address the issue. Parents are responsible
for signing documentation that gives their consent of their child being able to drive. Many people
believe the reason for teen accidents is because they are immature but, the reason may be due to
distractions. Distractions are the leading cause of accidents for young teens. Allowing teens to start
driving will give them a little responsibility as a young teenager.

Mathematics is a type of reasoning. Thinking mathematically includes thinking in a rational way,

Training and Job Performance
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Background of the study Training is an event of planning a
learning process in order to improve the person s knowledge, ability and skills. According to
Raymond (2010) Planned effort by a company to facilitate to employees learning of job

Therefore, in this study, the relationship between training and job performance among
academicians will be testable to investigate the relationship between variables. Statement of The
Problem The implementation of training will result to the changes of job performance.
Typically, in profits organization, performance can be measure in many ways for example in
term of financial can be refer to the number of sales made by effective employees, and in term of
operational is referred to the employees effectiveness of solving problem or management
effectives. (Safdar, Rehman, Waheed amp; Rafiq, as cited in Curtis, et al. 1995). Training is also
crucial to the employees as without an adequate training, poorly trained employees may do not
perform well in their job task and lead to poor job performance (Robert amp; John 2004).
Especially in education field, the institution is a non profits organization. Springer, M., amp;
Gardner, C., (2010) stated that, the performance measurement on lecturer is different and more
complex than the business profits worker for example, the number of sale is can be calculate by
how much the product have been sold to the customer. This is obviously different because from the
profession of teaching as they are providing services that is teaching and mentoring their students,
which also happens to be their clients. The academicians will give a contribution to the

Plato Of Radical Free Will
I believe that we have radical free will instead of genuine free will because I agree with Sartre
that we choose to react and feel a certain way towards everything. This concept can be easily
demonstrated in real life examples and through first hand experiences of majority of people. Main
problem with genuine free willis that it comes with the ambiguous concept of substance dualism.
On top of that, ideas argued by dualists contain problems that cannot be empirically proven. An
important distinction between genuine free will versus radical free will is that Plato of genuine
free will believes that the human body consists of two materials: the body and soul. He claims that
the soul, or our mind, is independent of the body and thus is not influenced

Terry Malloy On The Waterfront Essay
When 43 year old director Elia Kazan was called to the stage in the House of Un American
Activities, he did something that would change his career forever. He testified as a friendly witness
which resulted in hatred from many of his colleagues. In 1954, two years after his testimony, Kazan
produced On the Waterfront. Being one of his most famous works, On the Waterfront was an instant
success, winning an abundance of awards and solidifying Kazan as one of the best and most
influential directors of the early filmmaking era. Terry Malloy, the movies main character, was a
middle aged shore man who was caught up with the wrong group of people, which resulted in
him being part of a mob hit. Throughout this film, Malloy battled his own self conscious about
him being a part of the killing of Joey Doyle, all the while being in a relationship with Edie
Doyle, Joey s sister. Finally, Terry decides to speak at a court hearing and gives crucial information
that pointed directly to the mob being guilty of the killing. At the end of the movie, Terry confronts

An example of this would be when Terry confessed his actions to the priest. Kazan expressed his
feelings about what he did by having Malloy confess to the father, which in a way made Kazan

church, he confessed to what he had done to Joey and then said to the priest, But you know if I
spill, my life ain t worth a nickel. To this Father Barry replied, And how much is your soul worth
if you don t? Kazan felt the need to include this exchange of words for a couple of reasons, the
biggest being the fact that he was trying to show that what he had done at the House of Un
American activities had been the justified choice so that he could be at peace with

The Pillars Of School Leadership

This paper is a review on the pillars of school leadership as discussed in School Supervision class.
One occurring question is what does it mean to be a leader in one of our urban school system

flexibility and confidence.
Leadership today is the process by which leaders individually or collectively influence their

School leaders understand that when high performance is expected its likelihood increases and
developing a leader takes time. Some leaders are too often preoccupied (p.15) with the capacity to
bring about intended consequences in the behavior of others.
In addition to maintaining these skills, Siccone (2011), found that people are motivated by one of
three strong drives to do the best work of which they are capable. For leaders to effect change, they
must have a picture of what change will look like. Total participation techniques provide teachers
with evidence of active participation and cognitive engagement from all students at the same time.
These techniques function as formative assessments that help teachers accurately monitor progress,

Evaluation Of The Network Services
1.Goal
Going forward with lab 2, the focus was placed on core services seen on enterprise networks,
what they do to keep the network running efficiently, and how to centrally monitor them. Some of
these services (DNS and DHCP) were review from what was learned in the Network Services
class, but by taking the basic concepts and applying them to an already running network instead of
creating a new environment specifically to test them, students learned valuable lessons on how to
integrate important services into an already thriving network. At the end of lab 1, all virtual
machines set up were given a static IP address which could be marked down in the wiki and
referenced by other machines if needed, such as the Opsview software which needed to know
the location of the other machines for monitoring purposes. With DHCP and DNS now in place,
the focus of how to locate resources on the network was moved from logical IP addressing to
that of domain names. DHCP is now dynamically giving out any address within its given range
(a pool from our subnet), and it might not always be the same every time, meaning two things
had to change. The first is reservations on the ISC DHCP server so that the same address is
given out to systems already in place based on what their static addresses were previously, and the
second is letting resolver software on the virtual machine s query the new DNS server for the IP
address of a VM, rather than someone having to lookup what the address of the

Hong Kong Housing Problem Is Not Only Attributed to the...
Hong Kong Housing Problem is not only attributed to the High Population Density Every Hong
Kong citizen knows one of the grave troubles in Hong Kong is housing problem. The order of
severity can be apparently reflected by many figures in recent research studies. Rents up 22 per

22% to US$2,830 a month between 2009 and 2010 (В¶2). Subcommittee on Building Safety and

The property developers acquire the land with a high cost. They sell the flats with high prices so
as to keep the profit. Moreover, the property developers hoarding of residential land is another
main cause. Perry (2010) claims that six major Hong Kong developers are sitting on projects that
could provide a total of 42.6 million square of living space when completed, or about 43,000
apartments averaging 1,000 square feet (В¶4). Only the living space under construction owned by
the land developers is ample to be resided by 43,000 families after development. This living space
may not solve the entire housing problem, but at least ameliorates the situation by a significant
extent. Due to hoarded land, the market is in a shortage of land supply. Therefore the prices and
rents of flats rise and the property developers earn a tremendous profit. In addition to the
postponement of the residential building, in Law of Hong Kong, there is not a perfect and unified
regulation of the time range to finish building after purchasing the land, implying that the property
developers can thoroughly bridle the market. Apart from the concerns in land supply, immigration
from mainland promotes the housing demand. Starting from 40s, immigration being not governed,
there was an influx of Chinese immigrants due to the Cultural Revolution, the Anti Japanese War
and the Civil War. Policy restraining the number of immigrants soon executed.

Duck Week
Every year our community raises thousands of dollars for children and their families, who need
it to be able to fight medical issues. Duck week is a wonderful opportunity for the community to
rise together and strive for a shared cause. It is honestly amazing to see how everyone in the
community comes together to raise so much money for children and their families who are in
need of this money due to medical expenses and procedures. I am glad that our community does
this, and I think it is one of the great things about Piedmont. To me, by raising money for these
families, it is a great way to unite the people of the community. We may not be able to help
everyone who has medical problems, but we can try to help as many as we can. We can at least
help a few people, and it can make a huge difference in those people s lives. I liked the story that

The Cause Of Nathaniel Bacon s Rebellion
Nathaniel Bacon and his men, comprised of indentured servants, black slaves, and frontiersmen, ran
through the streets of Jamestown, plundering the plantation homes of gentry and eventually
burning Jamestown to the ground. This group was a testament to the rebellious potential of the
plantation labor force, namely indentured servants. Plantation owners had grown wary of
indentured servants and due to the hard labor, few free workers were willing to work on
plantations, leaving no viable labor source for the gentry to generate wealth. Over time, as slaves
from Africa gradually replaced indentured servants, the upper class instituted discriminatory laws
prevent slaves from uprising. Thus, the upper class did not intentionally propagate prejudice... Show

Earlier in the century, the legal difference between a slave and a servant was unclear. But now
the law began to make sharp distinctions between the two largely on the basis of race... This
quote clearly shows a shift in the legal definition of a slave to specifically the black race, making
the black race synonymous with slavery and inferiority. Although unintentional on part of the
upper class, these laws enculturated racism into colonial life, creating a class rift between
whites and blacks. However, the incorporation of prejudice and racism developed only after the
slave trade was established. Racism was not a prevalent social norm before American slavery. It
was the potential combination of poor whites and blacks that caused the most fear. If there had
been the natural racial repugnance...control would have been easier. This quote shows the low bar
of prejudice in the early colonial times, as white and blacks had rebelled together. Additionally, in
the Old World, slavery was not a new concept, but it had never been applied solely to the black
population. Servants and poor whites were always at the bottom rung of the social ladder in
England; they were not naturally better than the black population. However, in the colonies,
servants and poor whites were unquestionably in a higher class than the black population, a position

Stop Motion Animation
Stop motion animation requires the shooting of physically manipulated still objects to appear as
moving objects.
Some use dolls, props or clay (also known as called Claymation) to sequentially move an object in
between individually shot frames.
Depending on the preference of the director, stop motion animation may also require either
traditional or computer animation to supplement the movie s other visual requirements such as the
backgrounds, sets, and props.
Examples of stop motion animation on TV are commonly children s shows such as Morph, Shaun
the sheep, Bagpuss, The Clangers, Noddy and Wallace and Gromit s World of Invention.
The advantage of stop motion animation is that you can be creative because there aren t many
limitations on what you can do with an object like you do in real life.
The disadvantage is that it s very time consuming and extremely laborious and you have to make
sure the camera s still because one little slip up shows very clearly.
Clay animation:
It is similar to stop motion animation however using clay. It works by capturing each frame and
then playing the recorded shots to see a live action.
Clay animation films were created in the 1908 s, however it s in 1916 that it started to become
popular overseas.
Each clay character is produced by using a wire and clay, the wire is called an armature.
The disadvantage of clay is that it s very fragile therefor when producing and shooting the

But each tower would exert 1,140 kilopascals of pressure, more than twice the weight bearing
capacity of Kenny Hill soil [ Gala Abada, 2004] As a result of the soil conditions, friction
barrettes (a rectangular friction piles with heavily textured sides varying from 40 meters to 105
meters in depth) were needed in order for the foundation to be completed. Grout tubes were
lowered into each hole to force concrete from the edge of the pile into the surrounding to maximize
the efficiency of the friction piles[ Spiro Pollalis,2002].A concrete mat cast was then installed on

Suicide And Suicide
While awareness of suicide and its rippling effect on the community is increasing, much of the
research into the psychological impact of those exposed to death by suicide has been focused on
adults.
Which is why top academic and suicide postvention expert, Karl Andriessen has focused his PhD
project at the University of New South Wales, on investigating the grief, mental health and help
seeking experiences of adolescents who have lost a loved one through suicide.
The study, supported by the Anika Foundation for Adolescent Depression and Suicide, identifies the
adolescents experiences, which may be specific for this age group, to determine whether they
require specific attention from caregivers or health professionals.
It is well known that exposure to suicide and bereavement after suicide is a risk factor for adverse
outcomes related to health, mental health and social functioning, says Mr Andriessen.
We started this research project because most of the research has been focused on the adult
population, not on the younger age groups.
Hence, little is known about their grief and mental experiences, and their needs for support.
The study aims to redress that gap in our knowledge.
The project involved semi structured telephone interviews with 39 adolescents bereaved by suicide

The Coming Anarchy, by Robert D. Kaplan

identifies the different factors that he evaluates throughout his article, To understand the events of
the next fifty years, then, one must understand environmental scarcity, cultural and racial clash,
geographic destiny, and the transformation of war. (Kaplan, 1994) This is the framework that he
uses to make his supporting arguments and thus this summary will be broken down into these four
main parts. One of the major points that Kaplan makes and he focuses on heavily in the beginning
of the article is how environmental scarcity plays an impact on people s decisions. There is a finite

As we have seen recently within Egypt and Libya it s the Generation Z that are the ones who are
most connected and spurring these social changes that Kaplan had predicted uncannily. Even
though both these countries had a substantially large standing army the shear size of those

though many within our culture have access to technology on a daily basis it is greatly
unavailable to the majority of the world especially in those areas that are the most affected by
these cultural clashes. As technology becomes more readily available expect social change to
stem from online engagement in which people will be able to rally behind anonymity to push
social change forward. Geographic destiny as laid out by Kaplan is going to play a major part in
the change of the traditional political map. We can many examples of this as front page news

we discussed in class the political map rarely follows any cultural groupings but instead is

The new hypothesis is: people from a specific generation will use a certain slang term more often
than people from a different generation. A quote from a document about slang used in school is
what inspired this project. Today s teens aren t the first to have a languageof their own. Every
generation has its own set of informal expressions, coined words and phrases, and standard
vocabulary used in new ways in other words, slang. So do other groups... Show more content on

The generation ranges were 15 35, 36 59, and 60 80+. Each person that took the survey was
asked to circle their age range and then pick the term that fit each question. The questions were:
What term would you use for two people in a relationship? , What term would you use to
describe someone that you find attractive? , What term would you use to describe something that
is interesting? , What term would you use to describe paper with monetary value (money)? , and
finally What term would you use to describe people that are no longer in a relationship? . Each
question also had a fourth option; a fill in the blank. If the survey taker didn t see the term that
they would use then they could put a word of their choice. The survey will be at the end of this

Differences Between The Movie And Movie
COMPARATIVE ESSAY OF THE DOCUMENTARY AND FILM Flight 571 The Andes Plane
Crash On the 13th of October 1972, a plane which carried Uruguayan union rugby player team
from to a match in Chile crashed, in an area in the Andes what was known as The Valley of Tears .
They were stranded for 72 days in the harsh, unfamiliar environments; their story of survival would
soon amaze and disturb the world, becoming the basis for a documentary named I am Alive:
Surviving the Andes Plane Crash (2010) and the movie Alive (1993). A documentary and a movie
are two similar, yet different things. They both (re)tell a story, but have different purposes most
documentaries are made with the point to inform, and movies purely for entertainment. This means
that certain parts of the movie may have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alas, the circumstances had become so dire they had no choice but to resort to anthropophagy a
term used by Parrado himself. Cannibalism is consuming the flesh of someone killed/injured by
your hand, so technically he was correct. The survivors made promises to each other and bonded
through their longing for their return; the extent of every man s struggle at their breaking points
was shown in both films, but I am Alive portrayed their resilience and willpower to a life changing
degree. The diverse primary sources and expert analyses constantly lead to viewers to think about
the real story behind the screen. Alive wasn t as convincing, and therefore connected less with the
watchers. The various alterations hint that producers paid less attention to the truth and detail,
instead focusing on entertaining the audience. But Flight 571 is a story that cannot be entirely told
by a group of actors, experts and even the survivors themselves; it s an event that people will truly

America Revealed The Food Machine
Modern day farming has transformed from the farming process of last century. Instead of farmers
producing for their families, farmers are now similar to input/output managers supplying massive
manufacturers that feed the country.
1. This change in productivity has turned the American food business into an assembly line style
industry. The elements that feed this productivity increase are the same as the factors found in the
text (Stevenson, Page 60). The industry has standardized their methods, increased their capital,
improved quality, put supportive management in place, and developed new technologies. For
example, the beef market is very large in this country. In order

Background:
Miniscribe was founded in the 1980s when the personal computer was on the rise. It had great
potential during this period and large growth capacity. During the first years the company grew fast
and furious. By 1983 it has outgrown its ability to remain private and needed the public investment
to continue to grow its operations and gain greater equity. In 1983 the company went public for
$11.50 a share. As soon as it went public, new entrants into the market and the decline in consumer
demand for personal computers had caused the market to decline. Miniscribe was on the verge of
going down with many other companies that could not make it through the economic slump.

Inventory becomes obsolete quickly thus having inventory that cannot be sold. Inventory could be
overstated also if it has become impaired. Increase in property plant and equipment for a growing
company is normal but for one that should be past it rapid growth it may not be a good idea.
Inventory turnover is decreasing over time confirming inventory is becoming harder to sell or they
are producing too much in a market that is not purchasing it quickly.
Property, Plant and Equipment in a growing firm is expected to be increasing. Property plant in
equipment is increasing but the turnover or the rate at which the assets are being used are
decreasing.
Accounts payable is increasing every year with a substantial growth in 1988 which may be due
to a large amount of unpaid balances that will reduce assets. Accrued expenses increased
dramatically in 1988. The long term debt was manageable in 1985 and 1986 but in 1987
quadruples. Being leveraged is good to some extent such as in 1985 and 1986 but in 1987 and 1988
it becomes being too leveraged.
In 1987 and 1988 the long term debt increased dramatically possibly due to increased loans to
manage cash flows. See Capital Structure and Solvency graph and ratios below. Total debt to

Jim Coleman was like a gift that just kept on giving to the volleyball world. (Hall of Fame Jim
Coleman, 2015). Jim Coleman was a volleyball coach that wanted to improve the growth of his
players. He was born on October 22, 1931, and he is in the Volleyball Hall of Fame. (Dr. James
Coleman, 2015). Coleman invented the Immediate Feedback Video system, along with the net
antennae, colored panels on volleyballs, and he formulated the volleyballstatistical systems that
are still being used today. (Hall of Fame Jim Coleman, 2015). He was a coach for the USA Men
s National team, the George Williams team, and he was also the head coach of the Minnesota
Monarchs. In addition to that, he directed the National AAU Junior Volleyball Championship for
16 years, and was an editor of the FIVB Rules Casebook. (Hall of Fame Jim Coleman, 2015). He
wanted to create this system because As an assistant coach for Bill Neville with the USA Men s
Volleyball Team in 1989, I spent endless hours of practice time video taping practices. Since our
team was a relatively young group of players, we decided that it was necessary to provide video

that allows you to view yourself after you pass, set, or hit a ball (Immediate Feedback Video

action and viewing of the action on the T.V. As Person 1 hits the ball, it is being taped. After that,
Person 1 would walk to the monitor to watch themselves while Person 2 is being taped. While
Person 2 walks to the monitor, Person 1 gets back in line and Person 3 gets recorded hitting.

The Year That Changed Europe The Start Of World War I

November 12, 2015
1914 was the year that changed Europe the start of World War I. Total was broke out between
Germany, France, Britain, and Russia and it was the first total war in history. Many historians have
takes on World War I, not that it was just a total war, but also because this time in Europe, it was a
completely different kind of war that was being fought. In Understanding the Great War, World War
I was a break from the history of warfare because of its violent style of fighting, its influence on
women and children, and its propaganda. War of Europe s past were fought like any other wars
with plans and logistics, but WWI was different because its main goal practiced by many fighting
nations was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A completely different approach from battles in the past was that in World War I, civilians
became a new target. When Germany would invade a country, the troops would attack civilians
and even imprison them (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 45). These prisoners of war were then put into
camps on German territory and because of the blockade against Germany created by Britain to
lessen their resources; the prisoners were being deprived of food (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 62).
German military would even use the prisoners in battles, turning them into human shields for
protection (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 77). German troops even went to the extreme with attacking
civilians by exiling them to face starvation, as German military did with the Armenians (Audoin
Rouzeau Becker 64). The German military used genocide to ultimately fight against their
opposing nations. Another way opposing sides would fight against one another was through the
use of tanks and planes, a concept never used before because of technology. Bombs were then
dropped onto enemy s territory, killing almost all innocent people (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 108).
By using excessive violence, psychological damage that was irreversible was inflicted on a vast
majority of soldiers, still inflicting harm even after the war ended (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 25).

Offerer Acceptance (Law)
Offer and acceptance is one the main 7 essentials to create a legally binding contract since a
contract is based on agreement. It is also an essential for a court to arbitrate problems. An offer
is a manifestation (orally, in writing, or by conduct) of willingness to enter into bargain, which
justifies another person s understanding of assent to that bargain is invited and will conclude the
transaction. An Offeror is the party who makes the offer. An offeree is the party who receives the
offer and is asked to accept it and thus form a contract. An offer can be either bilateral (made to a
specific person(s)) or unilateral form (made to the whole world). (Frey Frey, 2001)

As Anjali refers to the offer made on the notice board the notice on the staff notice board said that
the car would be sold to the first staff member who pays the money as she did not come with the
money it might make the acceptance invalid.
In Kavitha s case she conveyed her acceptance clearly in verbal form while she arrived with a
cheque which she handed over to Manuja therefore as she has accepted the offer validly and an
agreement exists thus Kavitha can sue Manjula for Breach of contract.
The offerors act of withdrawing an offer is referred to as revocation. Unless an offer is irrevocable,
the offeror can revoke the offer even if he or she has promised to keep the offer open (Miller Jentz,
2010). Revocation of offers should be made the same way offers were made as established in the
case of Shuey v US. Manjula s revocation of the offer fails because an offer cannot be reversed
once it has been accepted i.e. in a case like Payne v Cave the highest bidder could withdraw his
bid before the hammer was brought down (before acceptance) but in the case of Bryne v Van
Tienhoven the acceptor could not revoke his offer because he already accepted it. Thus Kavitha
will be able to successfully sue for breach of

most of the professional dirt bikers start at the early age of 4 or 5. When beginners start dirt bike

Comparison Of Robespierre And The French Revolution
In a time when France was fighting for natural rights and a separation from totalitarian rulers,
Maximilien Robespierre and the Committee for Public Safety believed the best way to advance
their goal was to temporarily enact the exact opposite of everything they were trying to achieve to
allow the country to recover from inner conflict. During a point when France was in a crisis
transitioning from monarchy, the Committee for Public Safety, led by Robespierre, took control of
the executive government. The period of Robespierre s rule has been given the nickname the Reign
of Terrorfrom rampant oppression, tyranny, and death in France throughout the period. The actions
of the government during the Terror opposed almost everything that the... Show more content on

One of the most prominent details of the Terror is the fact that thousands of people were sent to the
guillotine during this time period. Many of these unfortunate souls had done nothing wrong outside
of voicing their opinions. However, if Robespierre and the French government got word of this
person s actions and deemed their thoughts even just a little too radical or counter revolutionary,
they were executed. One of the most critical tenets of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution
was the freedom to voice one s opinion and not be punished or silenced by authority. This idea is
echoed in the tenth and eleventh articles of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which state
that freedom of speech, the press, religion, etc. and the freedom to express one s opinions openly
are among the most important natural rights of men, and that those using this right should not
be silenced so long as their views aren t disrupting the order of society. However, while
Robespierre doesn t address these actions directly in his Report on the Principles of Political
Morality, he portrays the government s harsh actions on anyone who would hinder or abandon
the revolutionary cause as justice. While Robespierre may have been looking at his actions
through rose tinted glasses, the massacre of thousands of people for simply sharing their beliefs
clearly went against key principles of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, the Enlightenment,
and the French Revolution. The arrest of suspected individuals and execution of those voicing
their opinions are clear violations of man s natural rights, but even the nature of Robespierre s rule
alone could be seen as a breach of the National Assembly s view on man and society just years

The Novel The Green Mile
King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated,
visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the
end. This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people
s fate, when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same
way, (King 16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable,
punished the guilty, and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John
Coffey in fall of 1932 was a hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this
man as not much of a talker, but he often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the
rape and murder of two little girls; a crime he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black
man in both height and mass, but there was an oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb
had been acquainted with many inmates over his years, but this is the first one he offered his
hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King 19). Coffey, a simple man, who
talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay. From the start, it seemed
Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. [He was] doomed and
[maybe] even perhaps eager to die and put all of the pain and misery behind him (D Ammassa). He
had a hand for healing, even though this man knew that life was

How Underfunded Public Pensions Be Around The Country Essay
There s a lot of discussion in the news about how underfunded many public pensions are around
the country. States like Alabama, Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona are in the news for high,
pension plan debt that are eating away city and state budgets. But, the public sector isn t alone in
underfunding pensions. Not all private pensions are the money in the bank that employees
think they are, in fact they are doing about the same as public pensions. Neither is 100 percent
funded. The result? A combined deficit in retirement plan savings of over $4 trillion for payees
between the ages of 25 and 64. A Quick History of Retirement: Then and Now In 1875, the first
private pension plan was created by the American Express Company. Because most employers
were not publically traded companies, they were rare. A series of revenue laws passed by
congress from 1921 1929 helped private pensions grow by safeguarding funds from federal
taxation and providing tax credits to employers who contribute to an employee pension plan.
Amazingly, private pension plans survived the stock market crash in October of 1929 with only
a three percent of workers losing their plans. In fact, a few of the private pension plans started
before 1929 are still active today U.S. Steel Company (1911) General Electric Co. (1912) American

Outline For The Color Purple
1.Point of View: The novel The Color Purple is written from the first person point of view. The
effect that the author achieves by using the first person point of view is that while you are
reading the book you could put yourself in the main character s shoes and actually imagine what
she is going through and how she feels. 2.Main Characters: a.Celie in her early 50s b.Three
adjectives that would describe Celie are scared, timid, and vulnerable. The quote that supports my
choices is I think about Nettie, dead. She fight, she run away. What good it do? I don t fight, I

one another because they always wrote letters to each other. e.In my opinion there is no
significance to Nettie s name. f.You ve got to fight and get away from Albert. He ain t no good
(Walker 122). This quote shows how caring Nettie is with Celie because she is warning her
about Albert and that he may be dangerous. Also she doesn t want her sister to suffer which is
why she writes her the letter about what Albert was going to do to her. 3.Minor Characters:
a.Celie s mother b.The connection that this character has to both Nettie and Celie is that she is
their mother. Her name is never mentioned throughout the book and she is the wife of Fonso
who is the stepfather of Celie and Nettie. c.Celie s mother is always sick and pregnant. a.Olivia

  • 3. Estate Income Tax Return Essay Soon after receiving the plan to complete the Estate Income Tax Returns, I began to execute the plan. As described in the article The Estate Income Tax Returns: The Plan to Complete the Returns, the plan, in part, involved distributing the proceeds of the rental property sale and paying out tax deductible expenses. However, before I could carry out my portion of the plan, I had to complete the following important tasks: Mail W 9 forms to a couple of beneficiaries not willing to give their social security number through email or by phone. Contact the two charities for their tax id numbers. Contact the attorney and tax professional for invoices. So, once the requested information arrives, I could begin to execute the plan. Since the beneficiaries weren t expecting much from the estate, they were about to receive an unexpected surprise. However, I couldn t let the excitement affect the work that still remains. The will provided for a twisted distribution formula and I had to get it right. So, I wrote a draft of the distribution and had the attorney and tax professional look it over. They both approved of the distribution and, at that point, I wrote out the checks. Along with the checks, I included a letter explaining that this is the first distribution of three. The next distribution will distribute the last of the estate property, and the third distribution was to close out what remains in the estate account. To get the beneficiaries feeling giddy, I told them that the first distribution consisted of only the proceeds from the sale of the rental property, which accounted for about a third of the estate value. So, after reading this letter, I am sure the beneficiaries would feel pleasantly surprised. If not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Emperor Hadrian Research Paper The three major accomplishments of the Emperor Hadrian Have you ever wondered how Rome was so great? I am going to tell you about one person who contributed many things to make the Roman Empire greater than it already was. The Emperor Hadrian was born in Italica, Spain in AD 76. His father died when he was young, so his cousin the Emperor Trajan became his guardian. Trajan became the emperor in AD 98. He didn t like Trajan s aggressive policies so he worked hard to bring peace to Rome. He became known for the personal attention he paid to the Roman provinces. During his reign he undertook many building projects. I m just going to tell you the three major ones. The three major accomplishments of the Emperor Hadrian are Hadrian s Wall, ... But the construction didn t start until AD 125. It was dedicated ten years later and was finished by Hadrian s successor Antoninus Pius. Finished sometime between AD 140 and 145. It was also damaged by a fire in AD 307. It was restored by the emperor Maxentius. It had two adjoining sacred inner chambers. In each chamber there were two cult statues, Venus Felix ancestor of the Roman people and Roma Aeterna the genius of the city. It s on the slope of Velia Hill, with the arch of Titus at one corner and the Via Sacra passing down its flank. It effectively joins the Forum and the Colosseum. In AD 131 132 Hadrian dedicated the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens. The Temple of Olympian Zeus is very similar to the Temple of Venus and Roma. North both was surrounded by a paved court enclosed by a portico from which the stylobate could be approached by steps on four sides. Both temples are peripteral having columns on four sides and dipteral with two rows of twenty columns on the long side. The Temple of Olympian Zeus is octostyle with eight columns across the principle faГ§ade, rather than ten like the Temple of Venus and Roma. • 5. The Pacific Bluefin Tuna Is An Valuable Valued Specie Introduction The Pacific Bluefin Tuna is an incredibly valued specie who has been doomed for decades. Although the IUCN has listed this specie as vulnerable, they are far becoming more endangered to the point of extinction. Their population remains at 4% of what they were before commercial fishers began capturing them by the thousands (The IUCN Red List, 2014). The Pacific Bluefin Tunais one of the largest and fastest fishes in the ocean. Their are three distinctions of the Bluefin Tuna; the Southern, Atlantic, and in this case, the Pacific which is located primarily in the northern hemisphere of the Pacific Ocean. Overfishing is a problem because Bluefin Tuna is responsible for keeping population numbers in check, thus creating detrimental effects if the biodiversity were to be threaten and the ecosystem were to become imbalanced. Furthermore, the Bluefin Tuna have fallen victim to becoming targeted and non targeted species by fisherman. Purse seine fishing is the number one fishing method used to catch the Tuna. However, long line fishing also poses as a threat because they are unintentionally caught in by catches, creating an unnecessary waste. In addition, studies demonstrate that Japan has the largest number of catches. Japan s economy has the most to loose if they do not protect their valued specie. They have made little efforts for change and the ISC concluded that current levels of fishing have now become unsustainable. It has been concluded that this stock will continue to decline in 2018 (Nickson, 2018). This specie has fallen a tragedy of the commons model due to individuals trying to gain the greatest benefit, without realizing what the long term effects would be when the demands of the resource overwhelms the supply. This will hurt the well being of multiple societies, and most important, the well being of the Bluefin Tuna. The ISC stated that these species need new management plans to ensure it s sustainability. Cultural capital has to do with capital resources such as skills learned and specific knowledge pertaining to certain subjects. It also has to do with skills and behaviors learned at home. Field has to do with a social institution such as a school. These two things result in inequality because of the way children are brought up and how involved they are in social institutions. When a child is involved in a multitude extracurricular activities, they are more likely to succeed in school because they have a more stable schedule and not as much free time so they are forced to learn time management. • 7. Is Cannibalism Is Wrong Now through the analysis of the scripture it is made clear that cannibalism is an abomination to God, and that the ones who have part taken in this have been cursed. In other words, the Catholic Church did follow the teachings of the Bible, and had a basis to expunge such practice. Another interpretation one could get from the passage is that it is parallel to that of the indigenous people. Both the Israelites and the indigenous people both had their temples and idols torn down and destroyed. Which biblically shows that when people do commit the abomination of cannibalism then it is the right thing to do to turn away from that sin and turn back to God. However, this is not the only change the Roman Catholic Church made. Smith also said native deities were replaced by Christian saints, (Smith, 1). This can easily be interpreted as instead of the indigenous people worshiping their gods as they were already doing, the Church just shifted their worship to the saints. Which biblically is still wrong, because this goes against the very first commandment which reads, 6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me. (Due. 5, 6 7). Although the Catholic Church had the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the article Skinny models send unhealthy message , it states In 1998, a survey by the Bread for Life campaign, cited by the Eating Disorders Association, showed that 89% of women between 18 and 24 wanted more average sized models used in magazines. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is incorrect because although there are some positive outcomes because of magazine advertisements, there are far more negative ones. Wanting to be healthy and having a source of entertainment isn t nearly as serious as eating disorders and depression which are just some of the negative effects caused by magazine ads. In The Best Women s Health and Fitness Magazines it explains, The report, which says young women look at thin models and see themselves as fat in comparison, calls on broadcasters and magazine publishers to use a more realistic range of body images. It also suggests society should put more emphasis on better eating and health to increase awareness about the impact of poor nutrition and dieting on young women. The evidence states that since women are getting heavier, we should use more models with a realistic body shape. Most women do not look like the photoshopped models in the magazine advertisements, so seeing them causes women to feel depressed about their own body and wanting to change it which could also lead to eating disorders. • 9. Descriptive Writing On An Invention For the past five years my friends Tristen, Alice, Courtney, Leo, and I, Ruby, have been working on an invention to help cure tons of diseases. We spent our hours between classes, nights, and days working on Invention. After all the time working and designing it, we hadn t put any thought into the name and started calling it Invention. I had come up with the original design and idea for it, but none of us had been able to get Invention to work. My dorm room had a special cabinet for all of the prototypes we made of Invention, so far none of them had been able to work. Courtney and Tristen called everyone together for another late night working on Invention. We all met in the library that was on the college campus. I carried in my bookbag and Invention, meeting Courtney, Alice, and Tristen who were seated at a table in the back of the library. Should we start without Leo? I sat Invention in the middle of the table carefully and my book bag on the ground, leaning up against the chair I sat down in. My friends nodded and started setting up the table with our supplies. Alice pulled out three colored notebooks, setting them up on the table and I pulled my laptop out of my backpack. Courtney and Tristen sat out a pack of paper that was laminated with some of the designs they had come up with. Before I knew it, it was almost three o clock in the morning. I had been able to go over everything we had talked about and work on Invention. The last few hours of the night were a blur, I was on the verge of falling asleep and eventually I did fall asleep. ******* I woke up later in the morning to Courtney yelling at me, Ruby, wake up! We almost got Invention to work! Hurry up, everyone else is in the tech lab. I bolted up and gathered all of my belongings. Courtney was already halfway across the library by time I had gotten up from my spot. Courtney and I hurried to the tech lab that was on the other side of campus. I felt like I was sprinting as Courtney tugged at my arm for me to hurry up. Ten minutes later we were standing outside of the tech lab. Since both hypnosis and pain really heavily on patient assessments and self evaluations, it becomes essential that all ensuing research is discussed on common ground. First let us consider hypnosis. The Oxford Handbook of Hypnosis: Theory, Research and Practice mentions two elements that should be considered when defining hypnosis: hypnosis as procedure and hypnosis as product. The first element of this definition hypnosis as procedure involves two necessary components: an introduction and the first suggestion. As described by the book, the introduction includes informing the subject that hypnosis involves potential imaginative experiences. Case Studies One such example involves Harold Wain, the director of the Psychiatric Liaison Service at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The case focused on a woman with a... This indicates that the key to pain reduction through the use of hypnosis revolves around the suggestions given during hypnosis rather than the process itself. Hilgard also demonstrated that the mind is capable of hallucinating pain, although it was less severe than the pain caused by the normal nonhypnotic state. As this also produced consistent results, it can be generalized that verbal reports can provide significant results in experiments involving pain for waking, hypnotic, and induced hallucination states. During these experiments, Hilgard also examined the changes of heart rate and blood pressure during the trials. Unfortunately, he was unable to determine significant differences between the varying states. This shows that physiological indicators of pain shouldn t be used to determine the varying levels of subjects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An extremely effective organizational strategy entails the utilization of a style described as taking a compromising philosophical approach. • 16. Dred Scott Vs. Sanford Case The Dred Scott vs. Sanford case was a huge decision in the history of our country. Dred Scott was a slave who was owned by the Sanford family. The Sanford family moved Scott to a Wisconsin territory, where slavery was prohibited under the Missouri Compromise, where he lived for 4 years working on and off to raise money for him and his family s freedom. Later on, the Sanford family moved him back to St. Louis where Scott tried to buy him and his family freedom but was denied by the Sanford family. Scott sued the Sanford s and made a case that he and his family lived in a free area for an extended period of time making him legally free. The state court declared him free but the wages that Scott had were withheld by the Sanford family who then appealed the decision to make Scott free to the Missouri Court. The Missouri Court overturned the decision to make Scott free and ruled in favor of the Sanford s. Scott then sued the Sanford s again for physical abuse and the court would not rule on it because they said Scott was regarded as a slave in Missouri territory. Scott then took the case to the U.S Supreme Court where they wouldn t take the case because Scott was or had been a slave. Justice Taney declared that federal courts could only hear cases brought to them by citizens of the U.S and that Scott was not a citizen because his ancestors were imported from another country and they were slaves. • 17. Adversity Horace Character Analysis Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous conditions would have lain dormant . These words of Horace are timeless and apply to almost all aspects of the human life. Horace emphasizes to the audience that the bad times bring out the best in people, which would have gone unnoticed if the times were solely flourishing. It truly takes treacherous conditions in order for someone s character to be genuinely expressed. Sometimes this instinct happens naturally and goes unnoticed, or they happen deliberately. The manner in which mortals act during these situations are what builds their character to its true extent. Adversity and talent coincide with each other in order to create life changing opportunities. Although there are several instances where our country, as a whole has come together during tough times the attacks on September 11 is the most predominant of them all. Steps undertaken by its founders included careful choosing of the name Banyan Tree , a tree with its origins rooted in Asia and whose name evoked a calming sense of nature, as well as the tagline Sanctuary for the Senses , which implied that the resort was a safe haven away from the stresses of modern life. Management then built the brand around public relations and direct marketing programmes to connect with consumers emotionally rather than just spend advertising dollars on getting their name out. BT gained exposure through editorial coverage and photo shoots to showcase the holistic Banyan Tree experience . The photographs and collateral materials published in target publications were always evocative, refined and low key, reaching out to couples attracted to the qualities of romance, privacy and rejuvenation conveyed. He tells them of a dream he has had in which all animals live together with no human beings to oppress or control them. He tells the animals that they must work toward such a paradise and teaches them a song called Beasts of England, in which his dream vision is lyrically described. Symbols: Animal Farm Animal Farm, known at the beginning and the end of the novel as the Manor Farm, symbolizes Russia and the Soviet Union under Communist Party rule. But more generally, Animal Farm stands for any human society, be it capitalist, socialist, fascist, or communist. It possesses the internal structure of a nation, with a government (the pigs), a police force or army (the dogs), a working class (the other animals), and state holidays and rituals. Its location amid a number of hostile neighboring farms supports its symbolism as a political entity with diplomatic concerns. The Barn The barn at Animal Farm, on whose outside walls the pigs paint the Seven Commandments and, later, their revisions, represents the collective memory of a modern nation. The many scenes in which the ruling class pigs alter the principles of Animalism and in which the working class animals puzzle over but accept these changes represent the way an institution in power can revise a community s concept of history to bolster its control. If the working class believes history to lie on the side of their oppressors, they are less likely to question oppressive practices. Moreover, the oppressors, by revising their nation s conception of its origins and development, gain control of the nation s very identity, and the oppressed soon come to depend upon the authorities for their communal sense of self. Even though the United States would not officially enter the war until 1941 (Historical Film Footage: US Enters World War II), the world believed the United States to be the only hope of a German defeat. With the alarming news of the German s recent discoveries, the Americans needed to quickly assert its dominance in the race to develop new wartime technology. Rising the driving age will not help decrease the rate of teen accidents. The foremost reason for their high accident rate is because of lack of experience. Second are the distractions. This paper will present why the minimum legal drivingage should not increase and the benefits for teens to begin driving at age 16. Reasons why increasing the driving age will not reduce accident rate among teens or new drivers is because they will still be in the stage of learning and maturing into responsible adults and will lack the hands on driving experience from parents. According to the Nation Teen Driving Statistics, a total of 2,823 teenagers ages 13 19 died in motor vehicle crashes in 2012. In 2012, 60 percent of deaths among passenger vehicle occupants ages 16 19 were drivers (RMIIA, 2015). Increasing the driving age due to immaturity would cause mass punishment for the age group of 15 18 young drivers. What needs to happen is to address the cause of most motor vehicle accidents and address the issue. Parents are responsible for signing documentation that gives their consent of their child being able to drive. Many people believe the reason for teen accidents is because they are immature but, the reason may be due to distractions. Distractions are the leading cause of accidents for young teens. Some of these services (DNS and DHCP) were review from what was learned in the Network Services class, but by taking the basic concepts and applying them to an already running network instead of creating a new environment specifically to test them, students learned valuable lessons on how to integrate important services into an already thriving network. At the end of lab 1, all virtual machines set up were given a static IP address which could be marked down in the wiki and referenced by other machines if needed, such as the Opsview software which needed to know the location of the other machines for monitoring purposes. This paper will discuss some common slang terms and see if there is a significant difference between the generations. Two hypotheses were used for this research project. The reason that there are two is explained in the paper. They original hypothesis for this paper was: slang terms from different generations are so vastly different that it would be very hard to differentiate the meanings. This hypothesis had to be changed because the data collected did not give the information needed to tell if the hypothesis could be proven or not. The new hypothesis is: people from a specific generation will use a certain slang term more often than people from a different generation. A quote from a document about slang used in school is what inspired this project. Today s teens aren t the first to have a languageof their own. Many historians have takes on World War I, not that it was just a total war, but also because this time in Europe, it was a completely different kind of war that was being fought. In Understanding the Great War, World War I was a break from the history of warfare because of its violent style of fighting, its influence on women and children, and its propaganda. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A completely different approach from battles in the past was that in World War I, civilians became a new target. When Germany would invade a country, the troops would attack civilians and even imprison them (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 45). These prisoners of war were then put into camps on German territory and because of the blockade against Germany created by Britain to lessen their resources; the prisoners were being deprived of food (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 62). German military would even use the prisoners in battles, turning them into human shields for protection (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 77). German troops even went to the extreme with attacking civilians by exiling them to face starvation, as German military did with the Armenians (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 64). The German military used genocide to ultimately fight against their opposing nations. Another way opposing sides would fight against one another was through the use of tanks and planes, a concept never used before because of technology. Bombs were then dropped onto enemy s territory, killing almost all innocent people (Audoin Rouzeau Becker 108). It is also an essential for a court to arbitrate problems. An offer is a manifestation (orally, in writing, or by conduct) of willingness to enter into bargain, which justifies another person s understanding of assent to that bargain is invited and will conclude the transaction. An Offeror is the party who makes the offer. An offeree is the party who receives the offer and is asked to accept it and thus form a contract. The offerors act of withdrawing an offer is referred to as revocation. Unless an offer is irrevocable, the offeror can revoke the offer even if he or she has promised to keep the offer open (Miller Jentz, 2010). Revocation of offers should be made the same way offers were made as established in the case of Shuey v US. Manjula s revocation of the offer fails because an offer cannot be reversed once it has been accepted i.e. in a case like Payne v Cave the highest bidder could withdraw his bid before the hammer was brought down (before acceptance) but in the case of Bryne v Van Tienhoven the acceptor could not revoke his offer because he already accepted it. Comparison Of Robespierre And The French Revolution In a time when France was fighting for natural rights and a separation from totalitarian rulers, Maximilien Robespierre and the Committee for Public Safety believed the best way to advance their goal was to temporarily enact the exact opposite of everything they were trying to achieve to allow the country to recover from inner conflict. During a point when France was in a crisis transitioning from monarchy, the Committee for Public Safety, led by Robespierre, took control of the executive government. One of the most prominent details of the Terror is the fact that thousands of people were sent to the guillotine during this time period. Many of these unfortunate souls had done nothing wrong outside of voicing their opinions. However, if Robespierre and the French government got word of this person s actions and deemed their thoughts even just a little too radical or counter revolutionary, they were executed. One of the most critical tenets of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution was the freedom to voice one s opinion and not be punished or silenced by authority. This idea is echoed in the tenth and eleventh articles of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which state that freedom of speech, the press, religion, etc. and the freedom to express one s opinions openly are among the most important natural rights of men, and that those using this right should not be silenced so long as their views aren t disrupting the order of society. However, while Robespierre doesn t address these actions directly in his Report on the Principles of Political Morality, he portrays the government s harsh actions on anyone who would hinder or abandon the revolutionary cause as justice. While Robespierre may have been looking at his actions through rose tinted glasses, the massacre of thousands of people for simply sharing their beliefs clearly went against key principles of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, the Enlightenment, and the French Revolution. The arrest of suspected individuals and execution of those voicing their opinions are clear violations of man s natural rights, but even the nature of Robespierre s rule alone could be seen as a breach of the National Assembly s view on man and society just years ... • 51. The Novel The Green Mile King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated, visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end. This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate, when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King 16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty, and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years, but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King 19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay. From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. But, the public sector isn t alone in underfunding pensions. Not all private pensions are the money in the bank that employees think they are, in fact they are doing about the same as public pensions. Neither is 100 percent funded. The result? A combined deficit in retirement plan savings of over $4 trillion for payees between the ages of 25 and 64. A Quick History of Retirement: Then and Now In 1875, the first private pension plan was created by the American Express Company. Because most employers were not publically traded companies, they were rare. A series of revenue laws passed by congress from 1921 1929 helped private pensions grow by safeguarding funds from federal taxation and providing tax credits to employers who contribute to an employee pension plan.
