applications. Since Mr. Travers works on different projects and different parts of the technical aspect
of Tiffany and Co. , his typical workday fluctuates in what kind of work he does and how much of a
workload there is. Recently, as far as when the interview was taken, he and his team were at the end of
development on a large project that has been in the works for about two years. They were going to go

The poem, You Know My Story , is an excerpt from a larger poem, and novel, called Glass by Ellen
Hopkins. The book is the second book in a series of three describing the rollercoaster life of Kristina
Georgia Snow while on drugs. The free verse poetry books were very largely inspired by Hopkins
daughter s own drug addiction (Goodreads). Her daughter, Cristal was very much like Kristina from
the story. She became addicted to the same drug as Kristina and even had a child that was later
adopted by Hopkins, just like the character from the story (Hopkins). The poem is written in a very
interesting way. If someone were to read the poem straight across as literature is meant to be read, the
poem would be very descriptive and tell a short story on just one page. But with many of Hopkins
works, if the poem is read just using the stand alone words or phrases on the right, a new poem is
born. This new poem is a much creepier summary of the larger poem. In this case the new poem reads,
my dive into insanity, no longer perfect, Kristina became the monster (Hopkins). The entire poem has
a very dark mood. It has very deep traces of helplessness and a misplaced self identity for the narrator.
The tone shifts a few times, but throughout it shares the same darkness of the mood. First there is
anger, then sadness and, finally complete vulnerability. Any piece of literature that talks about an
addict of any sort, tends to be very dark and depressing. This poem is no exception to that idea. If a
person was new to the works of Ellen Hopkins, they might not be aware of the fact that her books are
poetry. The free verse style lends itself well to the writing of a novel, but it is not the type of rhyming
poetry that most people are used to. It seems more like a book than a poem at first, yet if reread the
poetic nature is made more noticeable. Hopkins has stated that she doesn t plan out her books
beforehand because her poetry has to flow naturally and too much planning messes with the natural
flow of things (Hopkins).

In this paper I argue that lawsuit filed against ChevronTexaco for dumping 18 billion gallons of toxic
wastewater, spilling roughly 17 millions gallons of crude oil, and leaving hazardous waste in hundreds
of open pits dug out of the forest floor have affected more than the ecosystem of the Ecuadorian
Amazon. ChevronTexaco has also completely threatened the Ecuadorian indigenous people s way of
life and was able to delegitimize their claim due to the global capitalist system and lack of epistemic
justice. However I also argue in this paper that the indigenous people s struggle against
ChevronTexaco is an exemplification of resistance to the global capitalist system and stands in
solidarity with the global justice movement. Indigenous peoples is a term especially used in the
international context to recognize the existence of ancestral peoples who existed prior to the formation
of modern nation states and whose way of life was, and is, historically denied, outraged and
discriminated against. In September 2007 the United Nations Declaration on the Human Rights of

autonomously determine the anterior half of a cells fate as levels of the bcd protein are altered within
an embryo.

They looked at wild type, mutant, hemizygotic, and even analyzed dead embryos in order to note the
differences in segmentation patterns between the wild type and the mutant embryos and the effects of
the mutation were diagrammed utilizing a fate map.
If an embryo was taken and mutated for the bicoid gene; the fly would develop no anterior structures.
It would grow without a head and will eventually die.
It was then found that the three genes that code for the anterior development are bcd, exuperantia
[exu], and swallow [swa]. Studies show that the bcd protein is concentrated at the head end and
gradually decreases in concentration as it extends towards the posterior end of the fly. When the bcd
gene was mutated in an embryo, it resulted in embryos with a second posterior region developing
instead of where the head should have been. In bcd mutant embryos, a duplication of the posterior
telson is seen whereby it completely eradicates the presence of anterior structures. These mutant flies
obviously ceased to survive and are thus considered to be strong
