My Mission Trip From The United States
I have never known a time in my life where I have not gone to church. With that being said, it s
not my largest priority. I tend to get distracted during the school year with deadlines and hanging
out with friends. It s when I m able to go on a mission trip that I can truly show and see what I
believe in. I have been on four missiontrips altogether and this summer I took a leap of faith and
left the country for the first time to serve. Nicaragua held the same focuses as trips in the United
States, but what I consider a mission trip from my experience in the past was not what this trip
had in store. My first mission trip was five years ago when I was in eighth grade. Both my sisters
and brother had gone on various mission trips and the one to Detroit was my first opportunity.
On that trip we worked on fixing up a couple churches that held youth group events. My team and
I weeded, painted, planted flowers, organized and cleaned the churches different offices and
activity rooms during the first couple days of the week long trip, the second half of the week,
my team and I consisting of middle schoolers, put on a day camp for the kids around the area to
play games, do crafts, eat lunch, listen to worship music and a message. It was a great experience

supernumerary nurses. We were looking after a thirty nine year old woman, Ms LC, who had
undergone a laparoscopic peritonectomy. We had to start her on a negative pressure wound therapy
dressing or NPWT; as suggested by wound clinical nurse consultant and the doctors during their
ward round, since this would allow the fast healing of her wound.
I showed the supernumerary nurse the proper way of preparing an NPWT using a non touch
sterile technique, started by slowly cleaning the surrounding skin prior to the application of the
pressure dressing. Since it was the first time of the preceptee to perform a pressure dressing, I
have provided my preceptee the principles of wound management so that it will reinforce the
knowledge of the supervised nurse and skills on the management of wound using NPWT. I also
provided the preceptee the protocols and the wound management chart to take note of the type of
solutions to be used in managing a surgical wound. We also documented in the progress notes what

What Does The Snake Symbolize In Sweat
The story Sweat, is built upon a foundation of symbolism. A clear example of this is the use of a
snake throughout the story. The snake symbolizes Syke s need for control and dominance over
Delia, it represents evil in a similar fashion as the bible, it mirrors Sykes attitude towards his marital
responsibilities and throughout the story, promotes fear.
There is early reference to snakes within the story. As Delia goes about her Sunday routine, she
feels something slither down her shoulder. A great terror took hold of her. It softened her knees
and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could cry out. Sykes had laid a
bullwhip upon her shoulder, knowing the emotional toll it would take on Delia. He laughs and
makes it clear that he has no reason not to scare her. He does not care about her feelings and the
terror he inflicts is fully intentional. This provides an example of how the snake is used to show
Sykes dominance and control over Delia s mental faculties.
Next, the sense of evil symbolized by the snake is demonstrated by the beastly way Delia is

1.0DEFINITIONS

I predict the THREE different balls will bounce at different heights.

Tennis ball, golf ball, ping pong ball
Meter stick
Procedure:
Your group of 2 will be given 3 balls (a tennisball, golf ball, and a ping pong ball).
Hold one ball beside the top of the meter stick with the ZERO end touching the table.
Hold one ball beside the top of the meter stick so it does not touch. Drop the ball. Have your
partner record the height of the first bounce.
Repeat Step 2 TWICE using the same ball.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each of the other balls.

Gender: Women, the Lesser Sex Throughout the Ages When one thinks of art and religion, one
may think of gender role defiance and non conformism. While this may be generally true in present
times, it was not always this way. Women and men have had distinctly different places in society,
these places often being unequal. Generally most well known works throughout the ages have
adhered to and represented what society regarded as the proper gender roles for men and women.
This is represented in three works of art which will be discussed: Hamlet by William Shakespeare,
The Courtier: Book 3 by Baldassare Castiglione, and Luncheon on the Grass by Eduoard Manet.
While these three forms of art come from different times and are of different mediums, they are
connected in that they follow and represent the gender roles of their time. Hamlet is regarded by
many as Shakespeare s most well known work. A tragedy focused on revenge, this work awed the
Elizabethan audience with its shocking themes and content. The play follows Hamlet, a prince who
is fixated on avenging his father, who was murdered by Hamlet s uncle Claudius. Throughout the
entirety of the play, Hamlet behaves erratically and irrationally, focused entirely on revenge. This
play features two prominent female characters, Gertrude, Hamlet s mother, and Ophelia, a girl in
love with Hamlet. Out of the entire cast, these are the only two females with names, and they are not
