The oldest jumps in to anything involving her sister as a protector. At the current foster home
that only consists of the sister and the foster parent the oldest seems to be the one with the
issues. The younger one has adapted very well, in regular school grades are good and no
behavior or sexuality issues. The oldest however seems to have a problem with being told what

The class was asked to do experiments on five different people who I know. We were asked to
test their short term memory. I thought it would be easy for my subjects to remember just 10
words. I wanted to see if age or education can change their short term memory outcome. On TV,

The Indian Removal act of 1830 was passed by President Jackson. President Jackson wanted the
Natives land so he made false treaties with them in order to speed up the process of taking their
land. Some of the Natives agreed to go to Indian territory on their own but, the majority of them
didn t like the idea of leaving their home. Many of the natives fought and raided the settlers many
of the natives tried to make peace with the white men. Soon many of the Natives grew weary and
finally decided to cede their land and move to Indian Territory. Still many Natives had to be forced
to make the journey. Many of the natives didn t survive the journey. The Five Tribes that were
removed were the Choctaw,Creek,Chickasaw,Cherokee, and the Seminole.

In order to live the good life, one must eliminate all pain and live a life with maximum pleasure.
Unlike other hedonist philosophers, Epicurus evaluated pleasures by their duration rather than their
intensity, making psychological pleasures much more desirable to physical pleasures. Epicurus, as
a consequentialist thought that in order to achieve the good life, one had to logically assess future
consequences of human actions through rational reflection and evaluation. If one were to rationally
reflect on death they would soon realise that there was nothing but oblivion after death (de Botton
2000, p. 59).
The Leading Doctrines of Epicurean philosophy state that it is impossible to live the pleasant
life without also living sensibly, nobly and justly, and conversely it is impossible to live sensibly,
nobly and justly without living pleasantly (Epicurus, 1998b, p.53). Therefore, the good Epicurean
believes in order to live virtuously, one must adhere to a pleasurable life. For Epicureans it is
impossible to live virtuously and unpleasantly or vice versa. In addition, Epicurus describes
pleasure as our primary native good (Epicurus 1998a, p. 51), implying that all human actions are
driven by pleasures and by the avoidance of pains. Another imperative concept to Epicurean
philosophy is Epicurus idea of the three fundamental aspects in attaining pleasure, those of
friendship, freedom and an analysed life
