The flash fiction selection I chose for my performance is the story Mythologies
written by R. L. Futrell. I chose this story initially because of the title, having an
interest in most cultures mythologies and stories I started to read the story.
However, upon reading the story I was drawn in by the world surrounding the text.
A single paragraph of context is all that is given about why the story is being told.
The rest is dedicated to a boring drive to West Virginia and the trivialities of the
expedition and the sights, smells, and sounds of the world around them. The

an experience that has happened to me. Telling a speech was a new experience for

the audience can also relate a topic that is being presented. I will explore and go
into the details of ethos, pathos and logos of my speech for my personal
assessment. I think I did a good job presenting my ethos through my speech story. I
convince my audience with my credibility through my speech and the way how
talk throughout the speech. For example, throughout my whole speech, I shown
my hands and did not hide my hands. By keeping my hands in plain view, it shows
my audience nonverbally that I can be trusted. The volume of my voice was at a
normal speaking tone and was not too low. Most of my audience was able to hear

off the impression that I was prepared. For example, I had a smile and had constant

Remember the Titans is directed by Boaz Yakin and stars Denzel Washington as
Coach Herman Boone, Will Patton as Bill Yoast, Ryan Hurst as Gerry Bertier, and
Wood Harris as Julius Campbell. The movie takes place in 1971, at T.C Williams
High School in Alexandria, Virginia. The high school had recently integrated,
where both Americans and African Americans conjoin to the same school. The
main social issue in the movie was racism, because the Americans didn t want to
be a part of the same school as the African Americans, but they play on the same
