Over the past semester, I have had the opportunity to be a part of this Citizen and
Self class. Throughout my time in the class, I have had the pleasure of having my
world scope expanded and my definition of a citizen challenged. A major part of this
class involved group work researching a topic/issue and then using the researchto
write a paper and lead a class discussion on the topic/issue and potential solutions for

other way as well. At the end of my stopping point, Sofia mentions to Celie how
much Harpo has been eating and how it doesn t seem that he does anything else.

I know this hurt him and I feel terribly about this now but I m sure he knew this
