Examples Of An Autobiographical Essay
1. Examples Of An Autobiographical Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Examples of an Autobiographical Essay" can be a challenging
yet rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in the technicalities of constructing a well-
organized and coherent essay but also in the introspective nature of autobiographical writing.
The process begins with a deep exploration of one's own life experiences, memories, and
emotions. This self-reflection requires a level of honesty and vulnerability that can be
uncomfortable for some writers. Unraveling the threads of personal history demands a keen
awareness of one's own growth, struggles, and achievements.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to the task of selecting the most relevant and impactful
events to include. With a plethora of life experiences to choose from, the writer must sift through
memories, considering which ones best serve the purpose of the essay. This requires a delicate
balance between showcasing personal growth and maintaining the reader's engagement.
Structuring the essay poses another hurdle. Crafting a narrative that flows seamlessly while
conveying the essence of the writer's journey requires skillful organization. The chronological
order may be a common approach, but the challenge lies in weaving a cohesive narrative thread
throughout the essay.
Moreover, there's the delicate dance of self-promotion versus humility. While the essay aims to
highlight personal achievements and growth, it should do so without appearing boastful. Striking
this balance can be particularly challenging for some writers.
In addition to these writing challenges, there's also the emotional toll that delving into one's
personal history can take. Revisiting past struggles or triumphs may stir up emotions that need to
be handled with care during the writing process.
Despite these challenges, the autobiographical essay offers a unique opportunity for self-
discovery and self-expression. It allows the writer to share their journey, imparting valuable
lessons and insights. When successfully navigated, this type of essay can leave a lasting
impression on the reader, offering a glimpse into the author's life and leaving them with a deeper
understanding of the human experience.
For those who find themselves overwhelmed by the intricacies of crafting an autobiographical
essay or any similar writing endeavors, assistance is available. A variety of resources, including
professional writing services like HelpWriting.net, can provide support in transforming
personal experiences into compelling narratives. Whether seeking guidance on structure, content,
or the writing process itself, these services can help individuals navigate the complexities of
autobiographical writing.

3. Miracles In The Book Grand Miracle By C. S. Lewis
Miracles by C.S Lewis centers on miracles in his book he wrote about the Grand
Miracle which can be found in chapter 14. He mentioned how these miracles and
other biblical stories have influenced the Christian worldview. In the sense that
Miracle as laid this foundation for Christians and their basic makeup of the world.
He stated his views about miracles he believes there are two ways we can view and
interpret miracles which is nature and supernature. The fitness or credibility, of the
Grand miracleitself cannot obviously, be judged by the same standard (page 174).
The people who view miracles from a supernatural perspective accept that there is an
empirical proof which is not just clear in history that can validate all the importance
of the Grand Miracle that the Christian religionbelieve exist. While the people who
view miracles using the natural perspective disagree that there is no any empirical
proof. Most people in the 21st century believe that these biblical miracles really
happened and some believe it did not happen. Thinking in the 21st century Lewis

In the 21st century people struggle with making choices, people turn to avoid to
choose or look at things from different perspective in order to avoid disagreement.
Instead this act of not making choices lead to confusion this is why the biblical

people. There need to be a stance in which perceptive people stand for to enable
this solid conversation. This would also lead to more proof to show which view is
best to be used to support these claim about
4. Argumentative Essay On Prejudice And Prejudice
Social conformity can be toxic, it often leads to the epidemic that is prejudice. To
give a better idea of what prejudice means, Judice translates to judge in Latin,
therefore the term prejudice literally translates into pre judgment . There are
innumerable forms of negative preconceived notions that exist in our world today, the
biggest one being racism, which often is a stem of having anti immigration views.
Immigration prejudiceis not unknown to any person who lives in America and has
eyes and ears to know it exists, but it s important to know that prejudice is not
innate, it is learned, and as long as we allow our society to practice xenophobia
among present and future generations we will never be free of it. According to the...

Prejudice doesn t discriminate, it lives in all runs of people: Whites, African
Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Republicans, Democrats, men, women, young, old you
name it. In a perfect world this level of hatred wouldn t be the norm, but it is. It is so
widespread that there s tangible evidence that shows even Hispanics (immigrant or
not) have negative affiliations with immigrants. How can this be when Hispanics take
the cake for making up the largest portion of new comers. Interestingly enough,
research done by the Pew Research Center concludes that the more Hispanics have
become accustomed to nativism in American culture, the more likely they are to feel
negatively toward the matter. This sense of superiority is quite frankly sickening, to
know that even counterparts of immigrants could fall suspect of discrimination goes
to show its daunting power. What s more, the false notion that immigrants are purely
responsible for the uprooting of crime, scarce resources, drugs, disease, and more
have been fed to natives by the media and those in powerful positions to continue
defacing the image of immigration as there s no solid evidence to justify being anti
foreign. As the descendant of an immigrant father and his father before him, I ve
witnessed firsthand the means and consequences of trying to enter this country and
become a citizen. The

The Holocaust
Nearly six million Jews were killed and murdered in what was called the holocaust.
In the years between 1933 and 1945, the Jews of Europe were marked for death.
Inanition anti Semitism was given legal sanction. It was directed by Adolf Hitler and
managed by Heinne Himmler, Reinhard Heydrich, and Adolf Eichmann. There were
many other great crimes and murders, such as the killing of the Armenians by the
Turks , but the holocaust stood out as the only systematic and organized effort by a
modern government to destroy a whole race of people. The Germans under Adolf
Hitler believed that the Jews were the German troubles and were a threat to the
German and Christian values.

Hitler took advantage of the situation and rose to power in 1933 on a promise to
destroy the treaty of Versailles that stripped Germanyof land. Hitler organized the
Gestapo as the only executive branch and secret terror organization of the nazi police

commerce with them. Hitler thought that the Jews were nationless parasite and were
directly related to the treaty of Versailles. When Hitler began his move to conquer
Europe, he promised that no Jewish person would live.
Before the start of the second word war, the Jews of Germany were excluded from
public life, forbidden to have sexual relations with non Jews, boycotted, beaten but
aloud to immigrate. When the war was officially declared, immigration ended and
the final solution to the Jewish problem came. When Germany took over Poland,
the polish and German Jews were forced into over crowed gettos and employed as
slave labor. The Jewish property was seized. Disease and starvation filled the gettos.
Finally, the Jews were taken to concentration camps in Poland and Germany where
they were murdered and killed in poisonous gas chambers in Auschwitz and many

opposed this.

Revelation , a short story written by Flannery O Connor focuses on themes of
racism, religion, and judgment brought to a waiting room of a doctor s office.
Ruby Turpin, who takes the role of the protagonist, is an insecure Christian with
prejudice views on society. Mrs. Turpin has an unhealthy habit of placing people
in their proper categories . The waiting room was filled with people from several of
these categories, which Mrs. Turpin seemed to make a game of judging and
placing them based on appearance and stereotypes. Mrs. Turpin engaged with every
occupant in the room, some of whom agreed with her beliefs and ideologies while
one in particular, was not fond of Mrs. Turpin at all. Ruby Turpin who sees herself as

however her high moral values are overshadowed by her condescending demeanor.
She believes that she is a good person and deserving of her category, as she
expresses, some of the people with a lot of money were common and ought to be
below she and Claud (388). Mrs. Turpin, who is ultimately consumed by her
preconceived notions about social hierarchy, thinks she knows everything about a
person based on class and race. For example, when the white trash woman in the
waiting room spoke about not being able to feed her son and mother anything, but
coke cola and candy. Mrs. Turpin thought that she was lazy to cook and that there
was nothing you could tell her about people like them that she didn t already
8. Cultural Relativism And Morals And Codes
Philosophy has many different topics that are debatable and have been argued
throughout its long history. Cultural relativism is a very interesting and controversial
topic in the philosophical/ religious world. To further understand cultural relativism
one must first learn the definition. Cultural relativism is the view that Different
cultures have different moral codes and values, therefore cultureis subjective and
arbitrary. When given a closer look at cultural relativismwe come to the conclusion
that it is not as plausible as it first appears and that certain moral values are needed
in creating a sustainable and thriving society (57).In This paper I will begin with a
short analyst briefly stating the beliefs of a cultural relativist, explaining their values
and examining their views on cultural morals and codes. Then moving on to
analyzing the Argument of cultural differences which discusses the view that there
is no universal right or wrong when examining cultures moral views; a cultures
morals and values are simply a matter of opinion. Lastly I will confirm that every
culture has a diminutive amount moral views and values. As we observe cultural
relativism a relativist of this theory would assume the claim that all moral rules and
values are only relative to culture; the views of a culture are subjective and arbitrary.
Meaning there is no real universal standard when examining another cultures views
and morals every standard is dependent on a cultures own

After reading both novel/ Poem Beowulf is an excellent example third point of
view. In John Gardner s novel Grendel, it is clear that first person point of view
does not provide richer reading experience, while in the Epic poem Beowulf, it is
clear that third person point of view overrides biases with clear actions.
What would you do if you had to choose which book is better with points of views?
The general public has to make decisions on different points of view. In John
Gardner s novel Grendel, it is clear that first person point of view does not provide
richer reading experience, while in the Epic poem Beowulf, it is clear that third
person point of view overrides biases with clear actions.

We only got one person point of view. It would have been nice if we got everyone s
point of view. The better view of events can even change the opinion of Grendel.
Grendel is known as a villain. When reading first person point of view, people do not
receive the full experience.
When life is taking place can one person really tell everything? Information is key
when reading. Every detail puts thoughts in your head, so you can take everything
in. Beowulf talks about people being born by the god to the nation. After a boy
child was born to Shield, a cub in the yard, a comfort sent by God to the nation (12).
The Anglo Saxons thought god things came from God. There was religious belief
within the Anglo Saxons. When reading the Epic poem Beowulf, third person point
of view tells us the reader a lot of detail which override first person.
What does kinship mean to you? Do people think family comes first? The Anglo
Saxons take everything very seriously which includes religion and family. Before
long the fierce contenders clashed again. The hoard guard took heart, inhaled and
swelled up and got a new wind; he who had once ruled was furled in fire and had to
face the worst... In a man of worth the claims of kinship cannot be denied (2592).
Family comes first. Blood relation will always come first. Beowulf is fearless
which is also an epic convention. Grendel has a bad relative. Family stays together
even if they are a distant relative And to clear
10. Spatial Mismatch
As I have mentioned above, the origin of spatial mismatch phenomenon was found
through the empirical test. However, the theoretical conception is still unclear. There
was no literature which provides the micro foundations for this hypothesis until
Brueckner Martin (1997) develop a theoretical model to directly address the welfare
effect of spatial mismatch hypothesis. The authors adopted a fixed wage model with
a setup of the linear city. Besides taking the traditional assumption of the hypothesis,
the authors also take two spatial elements into account, that is, job decentralization
and a restriction of non white housing relocation to the suburbs. Under the analyses,
Brueckner Martin indicated that spatial mismatch has caused the non white inner city
workers to pay higher rent at a certain commuting distance and thus obtain lower real
wage. This was translated as a welfare loss for non white. While Brueckner Martin s
findings put more discussion on the welfare effect of spatial mismatch hypothesis, a
paper by (Arnott, 1998) provides an extensive analysis on the cause of spatial
mismatch. Arnott agreed that housing discrimination, combine with job
suburbanization, has brought worse situation for non white inner city workers, but
the job suburbanization does not necessarily... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The authors adopted minimum wage model and efficiency wage model to investigate
the impact of housing discrimination on the unemployment rate of non white workers
as well as their wages. The advantage of the latter model is the unemployment and
wages can be endogenized. Under both models, the authors showed that housing
discrimination has resulted in increasing unemployment rate and lower wages for non
white in inner city. Therefore, they suggest that these models can provide a
theoretical link between unemployment and racial discrimination in the housing
11. Amazon Rainforest Sea Level
In these next couple paragraphs I am going to tell you how Global Warming affects
Sea Levels, Coral Reefs, and Tropical Rain Forest. The Sea levels have been rising
majorly. The Coral Reefs have been decreasing. The Amazon Rain Forest have been
having droughts.
The Sea Level has increased over the past 200 years as average global temperatures
have increased. The rise is due to two factors, the freshwater being added to the
oceans from ice melt in the cryosphere, and the thermal expansion of the oceans
due to rises in sea temperature. The sea level has risen 6 to 8 inches in the past 100
years. It is predicted to rise another 50 to 90 centimeters in the next century. As the
sea level rises it s jeopardizing rapidly growing coastal communities, which causes
evacuation in some areas causing people to lose their homes. Sea level is the effect ...

This plays a crucial role in the precipitation cycle of South America and pumps

cycle by allowing water to runoff directly to rivers rather than being trapped in soil
and vegetation and slowly released throughout the year. This makes the forest more
vulnerable to drought and the further loss of trees and release of global warming
pollution. As of the results the researchers predict it will be a dessert by 2050. This

long terms. This shrinking of the Amazon rainforest is a major reason why scientists
predict that vegetation will shift from its current state as a carbon sink to a carbon

12. Understanding Cultural Differences Between The World
And...
Introduction: There are around 196 countries in the world and the cultures and values
differ between the different countries. There are still similarities in some of the
culture traits. In today s world people are more willing to engage in global business
and for this reason they need to be able to adapt to the different cultures. As the
cultures vary from country to country, people around the world may face many
difficulties during their communication. Many businesses have failed due to the fact
that they failed to fully assess the market they were entering in. The paper will
portray three different approaches that will aid in understanding cultural differences
that can be utilized as effective tools in conducting global business. These approaches
are known as the context approach, the cluster approach and the dimension approach.
1. Context Approach: This is one of the three main approaches to understand cultural
differences. Context approach is considered as the most straightforward as it relies on
a single dimension. In addition, there are two parts of the context approach, known
as: (i) High context cultures and (ii) Low context cultures. The two types of contexts
have different cultures, values, norms, and ways of thinking. In low context cultures
such as North American and Western European countries, communication usually
takes place at face value whereas, in high context cultures such as Asian and African
countries, communication relies upon unspoken condition. They
13. Analysis Of It s Like Everyone
It s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All
the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story
(Patrick RuthFuss). When a baby is brought into this world, the only piece of identity
it attains from its mother and father is its name. The rest of the way through life, that
person which has been given life, has to find their own path and their own identity.
Although parents teach very dignified lessons of values, it is up to him/her to

Lisa Hill has confronted many different forms of inequality throughout the novel.
Lisa was walking through a strip mall in a part of town called Terrace when she
saw her friend Erica being chased by a car full of white men verbally harassing her.
Lisa then stepped in to stand up to the men while Erica called her bigger brother.
During that whole ordeal there were many bystanders who did not lend a hand.
Later that day, Lisa went to go meet her aunt Trudy when she told her that If you
were some little white girl, that would be true, but you re a mouthy Indian, and
everyone thinks we re born sluts. Those guys would have said you were asking for
it and hot off scot free (Robinson, 255). Although Lisa was just trying to protect her
friend, no one decided to stand up to the white men and help a teenage girl
although there were many people watching. This displays the inequality that the
regular man feels towards the Indians. Furthermore, when Lisa s aunt Trudy was
just a small teenager herself, Lisa s grandmother was forced to send her away to a
residential school because she was an Indian. Trudy did not realize this and put her
blame and hate on her mother cause a rift between her and her mother. If Indian
children were allowed to go to regular public schools and had equality between
different ways of life, the fissure between a mother and a daughter would not have
been created. Along with that Eden Robinson also fought for the equality for
14. The Effects Of Hunting On The World Of Hunting
The hunting society has changed drastically throughout the years due to
developmental studies with technology a huge game changer in the world of
hunting, and with the impact of over population of deer in the U.S has made a big
impact on our crops and forests, and how hunting can be good for your health with it
providing exercise and healthy eating. I will now begin to skim the surface of these
subjects.
Hunting is a very controversial subject that has only become more sensitive now
days. Some say that hunting is murder, destroying the environment due to the
possibility of exceeding proper limitations. Most hunters are out there to bag a
trophy buck known for their big body size and large racks, which is not a bad idea
due to the facts that removing an alfa male from the area will normally cause the
female deer to move to look for another alfa male causing them to leave the area, in
which could help or destroy that areas. (MILNER) A study by R. Swilhart in 1997,
shows there were over 20 million deer in the U.S alone and still growing estimating
100 deer/square mile. (Swilhart) These ever growing numbers are destroying our
crops and forests. Forest service s researcher Stephen Horsley made this assessment,
The current density is producing devastating and long term effects on forests. For
aging deer vacuum up the seedlings of highly preferred species, reducing plant
diversity and in the extreme, creating near mono cultures. It could take decades or
even hundreds of years to

Abstract
Background: Recurrent abortion or recurrent pregnant loss (RPL) is a common
clinical problem, and for most women the cause is unknown. Angiotensin
converting enzyme (ACE) affects vascular structure and placental function, and its
role in blood pressure regulation and electrolyte balance is well documented, as well
as it is play a role in regulation of fibrinolysis indirectly.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the association of the ACE I/D
polymorphism with recurrent pregnancy loss in Sudanese women.
Materials and methods: It is a case control study, in which 40 patients with RPL and
40 healthy women with one or more successful pregnancies were enrolled. Salting
out method was used for DNA isolation from peripheral blood leukocytes, and PCR
was used to determine the ACE genotypes (DD, ID, and II).
Results: In women with RPL the frequencies of ACE genotypes were found to be
57.5% for DD, 35.0% for ID, and 7.5% for II. in the control group the frequencies
were 92.5% for DD,
16. Systematic Racism In Schools
Systematic racism within education Institutions, such as the lack of adequate funding
as well as subtle discrimination, continues to be the root of the problem that plagues
this nation. Even though segregation was abolished in 1964, the lingering effects that
remain are significant and cannot be passively mended. Although it is tempting to
think that this prejudice is caused by a select few and not the many, it is clear that
this problem holds more depth. Recent studies conducted by the National Education
Studies (NEA) have proven that even in school s African Americanstudents are often
times targeted and punished at a significantly higher rate when compared to their
white peers. The study states Black students make up almost 40 percent of all school
expulsions [in the] nation, and more than two thirds of students referred to police
from schools are either black or Hispanic (Blacks: Education Issues). This study

Ultimately the lack of reliable resources and preparation from underfunded schools
leads African American students into being unprepared for college and jobs, once
again reinforcing a vicious cycle of poverty within the community. Gillian B. White, a
senior associate editor at The Atlantic, wrote a chilling article regarding the
systematic racism that is deeply embedded in the American school system. In the
article The Data: Race Influences School Funding, White states At a given poverty
level, districts that have a higher proportion of white students get substantially higher
funding than districts that have more minority students (White). In this quote White
explains the clear correlation of race and inadequate funding in the American school
17. Treat Juveniles Differently than Adult Criminals Essay
Treat Juveniles Differently than Adult Criminals
I do not think it is a good idea to lock juveniles up in prisons with adults. For a child
to set down and plan a murder for instance, there would have to be some kind of
deep emotional problem. On the other side of this, if the child knows right from
wrong and he can sit down and plan a murder, then you could say if he is old
enough to kill someone then he is old enough to die. The juvenile criminal is rooted
much deeper than right from wrong. It starts back from when they are small
children. Most of them are usually outsiders or outcasts. Who can you hold fault for
that other than society? If juveniles don t fit in with the popular kids in school they
are considered an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my opinion, there is more than just the child who does wrong. It is society
,parents, and schools. William Hurst, a researcher for the National Center for
Juvenile Justice, says, Now prosecutors decide entirely based on the crime. They do
not take the time to investigate the social history of the child. They just ask, what
did this kid do? Many of them are driven by political considerations and want to run
for offices based on getting tough on crime. They know they are just damning
kids, but want to appear tough. They send thirteen and fourteen year olds away for
punishment. If you really want to create a monster then see what happens to a
child who is locked up in prison for years. (Juvenile crime). It has become
politically expedient to call for the imprisonment of children alongside adults. But
this is no way to reduce crime, says Ira Glassner, the executive director for the
ACLU. After the horrors these kids experience in prison, they are likely to commit
far more serious crimes upon release than they did before they went in. (About.com)
They need to put these kids in some kind of crime prevention program than a
correctional facility. Studies have been shown to reduce crime substantially when
compared to imprisonment after crimes have been committed. There are questions
raised. Are kids easier to rehabilitate than adults, or is a violent
child on the inescapable road toward becoming an even more violent

Introduction
Discrimination continues to run rampant throughout organizations in both the United
States and worldwide. The Supreme Court case, Dukes vs. Wal Mart Stores, Inc.,
dealt with 1.5 million current and former female Wal Mart employees that claim that
they had been a victim of gender discrimination. The ensuing pages will discuss the
specific issues that the plaintiffs encountered, followed by suggestions from a human

The plaintiffs involved in the Dukes case claimed to have endured sexist
comments while receiving lower pay and watching their male counterparts
advance at a quicker rate. (Bernardin Russell, 2013). They also claimed that the
male dominated departments such as sporting goods, hardware, and garden,
generally paid higher wages while offering more opportunities for advancement
(Bernardin Russell, 2013). Statistically, women in hourly positions at Wal Mart
make $1,100.00 less annually than male hourly employees, and the salaried gap is
$14, 500 a year (Hart, 2006). Researchers have proposed a variety of explanations
for systematic gender inequality in the workplace. Cultural benefits, the actions of
male employees, the actions of the female employees, and the actions of the
employer can contribute to intentional or unintentional gender discrimination (Ngo,
Foley, Wong, Loi, 2003). It has also been mentioned that women make less money
because their work environment is generally safer than the stereotypical male work
environment; childcare, cashiers, and secretary positions as opposed to
firefighters, truck drivers and construction workers (Parcheta, Kaifi, Khanfar,
2013). Perhaps the most dominant reasoning for women receiving less pay is the
carrying over of biological roles into the workplace. Female employees often take
time off to have a family, take care of a family, and are the primary caregiver of said
family.

Marie Sklodowska was born Warsaw, Poland in 1867. She was raised by two
teachers who supported the idea of a good education. She was a great student and
was always willing to learn but the education she desired was not available in
Poland so when her sister, Bronya, went to Paris, Marie followed. Marie went to
school in Paris to get a teaching diploma in mathematics and physics and then to
return to Poland. She didn t live with her sister and new brother in law because she
liked the freedom she had in an apartment of her own. After 3 years of living in
Paris, she received a diploma in physics and mathematics.

Her results were immediate. She noticed that the element thorium gave off the same
rays as uranium. After a lot of research she came to the conclusion that radiation did
not depend on the compound being studied. She said that it depended on the amount
of uranium or thorium. She concluded that radiation did not depend on the
arrangement of atoms in a compound in a molecule but rather the interior of the atom
itself. The discovery was considered to be revolutionary at the time. She continued to
test all elements on the Periodic Table of Elements. Only uranium and thorium gave
off any sort of radiation.
Her next experiment was quite simple. She wanted to test natural ores that contain
uranium or thorium. She gathered samples from geological museums and found that
pitchblende was four to five times active with small amounts of uranium. Pitchblende
is a form of the mineral uraninite occurring in brown or black pitch like masses. Her
brand new hypothesis was that a new element that was considerably more active than
uranium was preset in small amounts of ore.
Pierre gave up his research of crystals which he was heavily dedicated to join Marie
in her scientific studies. They both found that strong reactions came from test
samples containing bismuth or barium. Following up on bismuth, Marie discovered
that every time she took away an amount of bismuth, a residue with greater activity
was left behind. By 1898, the substance was 300 times the strength of

22. Scapegoat Incident Analysis
The experience I had as a member of a group in which someone became a
scapegoat involves a situation in which I was a scapegoat. This situation occurred
last year, September of 2015, not long after starting to take classes at Teachers
College. The class in which this incident occurred was Fundamentals of
Cooperation, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation in Different Institutional
Contexts. I was assigned to a group at the time by the professor of the class. I will
speak in third person regarding this incident. The scapegoat was created based on an
incident that occurred during one of the first team meetings. The group as a whole
were discussing the homework assignment from the previous week. The task was to
give a personal definition of the word conflict. As different members of the group
mentioned their definitions, the soon to be scapegoat illustrated a difference of
opinion. While all the other members of the group discussed how conflict can be
negative, the scapegoat mentioned during his definition that conflict, while tough to
address at times, had the potential to be positive. Immediately, the individual who
was seen as the group s leader disagreed and so did the... Show more content on

The scapegoat accepted being the target because this is a usual part of life that he
expected. The scapegoat acted with an acceptable mindset instead of an
unacceptable one. A unacceptable sort of mindset would have allowed the
scapegoat to state that how they are treating him is not fair. He could have
mentioned that the group should not have treated him differently whether it be
because of stereotypes, difference of opinion, or for doing what they wish they
would have done, which was to study before class. It is possible that he may have
gained an ally either in the professor (the professor disagreed with the group s
opinion in a class discussion and acknowledged the scapegoat s) or other students

23. Rice Paddies And Math Tests By George Gladwell
The heading Rice Paddies and Math Tests is the main focus of chapter. Gladwell
begins the chapter by illustrating the multiple steps it takes to grow rice paddies,
emphasizing the point that rice has been cultivated in China for thousands of years.
Next, the Chinese number system is brought up due to its logical counting system .
The regularity in the system provides advantages for Asian children, because they
are able to learn faster than American children, specifically in subjects such as
mathematics. The author relates the point about having advantages back to the
roots in a group s culture. In the case of the Koreans, one kind of deeply rooted
legacy stood in the way of the very modern task of flying an airplane. Here was
have another kind of legacy, one that turns out to be perfectly suited for twenty first
century tasks. Cultural legacies matter, and once we ve seen the surprising effects of
such things such as power distance and numbers (231 232). The cultural legacy of
rice farmers has taught farmers to have patience, determination, perseverance,
continuous practice, understanding what it means to do meaningful work and how to
succeed. The harder you work a rice field, the more it yields. Second, it s complex
work... He or she effectively funs a small business, juggling a family workforce,

24. Violence and Nursery Rhymes
Violence in Nursery Rhymes
Nursery rhymes, fables and fairy tales have always been a part of childhood. They
usually have some type of moral meaning or happy ending. Initially, most of these
rhymes and stories were not meant for children, lots of them mocked the history of
politics or they revealed abuse toward children. Women also received their share of
violence in some of the cute little jingles. For example;
Peter Peter pumpkin eater
Had a wife and couldn t keep her
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well!
My analysis of Peter and his wife builds a classic case of intimate partner violence.

The neglect and abuse may have led to death of the children.
Neglect has happened in the past but it strongly remains in the present. Nadya
Suleman is fighting back against the media s characterization of her and the claims
of child neglect that put the controversial mother of 14 back in the headlines this
week (Abbie Boudreau. ABC News). There are many reasons for neglect; alcohol
and drug abuse, inadequate parenting skill, financial difficulties , mental issues, and
lack of a support system. Even though neglect, physical and sexual abuse is not
tolerated or favored, there was a time when it was accepted, practiced, looked over
and sometimes encouraged. These behaviors and actions are being taught in the form
of sing long s , however the words, in most rhymes, have been changed to kid

26. The Human Condition Of Humans
Negative or Positive Humans are a strange species in general because of the way they
handle the conflict also the way life is presented and dealt with. Many things make
humans out to be a certain way but the literature that many writers have used to
describe humans is even stranger. Humans have a way of dealing with many traumas
and issues that arise throughout their lives while also dealing with the excitement and
happiness that comes along as humans wander through life. Though literature; from
the time it started to the present, focuses on the human conditionin so many ways
because in every story the characters have a conflict that will be handle and that will
show their outlook on life and what matters to them most. Human nature, society, and
the way people live in a literary work can portray the human condition to the reader.
Many writers use their feelings in the time period or their thoughts about people of
the time to describe the human condition which is read about and carried through
the years. The human condition really never changes and the cycle spins around
and will always spin around until there are no humans left. There is a positive and
negative, a good and bad, each person is made out to be one way or the other.
Many writers use their works to make a point and give a purpose just like the
characters in their stories. The human condition was portrayed by authors such as
Moliere, Voltaire, Rossetti, Tagore, Kafka, and Lu Xun. Moliere s Tartuffe gives many

29. Reflection on Hunger Essay
Food is one of the basic needs of a human being to survive. All of us depend on
food for having a good health, therefore with the lack of food many people will be
starving and malnourished. There are many reasons that may contribute to the
cause of world hunger. Historically, the society will continue to change as long as
there are people in the world. For what I know, the world had vastly changed from
60 years ago up to now. Whenever I m with my grandmother, she always told me
stories on how accessible and cheap it is to have food in the Philippines during her
teenage life. They used to have a small pond where there are tilapia and various
crops, vegetables and fruits in their backyard. This scenery was common in each

Genetically modified foods are genetically engineered by modifying the DNA to
make it tastier and have a better colour. This new technique has been introduce to
the world and has started to be practiced because of globalization. In my opinion,
people should stop improving and manifesting the GM food, and just focus on
planting trees, fruits and vegetable to be able to harvest foods the normal way and
find a ways on how to distribute foods in each human being. This will be a big help
with the problem of world hunger. World hunger will be one of the most serious
problems that the humanity will be facing if we will continue to ignore it.
Basically, when there is lack of production in food it will result to starvation and
famine if it gets worst. There are many things that can contribute with the
aggravation of world hunger. Firstly, climate change has a big impact with world
hunger. Climate change may affect food systems in several ways ranging from
direct effects on crop production (e.g. changes in rainfall leading to drought or
flooding, or warmer or cooler temperatures leading to changes in the length of
growing season), to changes in markets, food prices and supply chain infrastructure
(Gregory, Ingram Brklacich, 2005, p.2139). It can trigger a natural disaster like
drought and flood, which can have an extreme effect with the problems in the sources
of food. In one hand, drought is a common scenario in farm lands in which
30. Reasons To Follow Immigration Laws
Recently President Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has acted to
follow the current Immigrations Laws, set out by the United States Congress, by
ending former President Obams Executive Action order which was designed to
supersede the law and provide amnesty for illegal immigrants. I support this
position for several reasons, one being that we must have laws in the country to
follow, we must follow the order of the U.S. Constitution and we must not allow
people to unfairly cut in line because they have children. Our founding fathers set up
many of our policies from following the teachings of very smart philosophers of the
past. One such philosopher, John Locke stated, The end of law is not to abolish or
restrain, but to preserve

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JIMMY HOFFA BY DERRICK PRUETT This essay is

on the day that he disappeared, but first it will inform about his life prior to the
disappearance. Hoffa was born in Brazil, Indiana on February 14, 1913, to Indiana
natives John and Viola Hoffa. His father, who was of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry,
died in 1920 when Hoffa was 7 years old. The family left to live in Detroit in 1924,
where Hoffa grew up and lived out his life. Hoffa left school at age 14 and began

punctuality certainly makes the job easier, which makes it even more unusual.
These questions unanswered, the authorities were able to find the car, and traces of
blood and hair inside, that Hoffa got into. Many believed that Hoffa was garroted
from behind, when he entered the car. Though all these theories may or may not be

declared legally dead and along with many of the suspects or they have gone to
prison. Any convictions for the murder would depend on testimony from an inside

finding out what happened is gone. Though this essay is to show you what may have

32. The Health Of The Human Race
The health of the human race relies on the earth s resources for consumption of food
and water. This dependency is crucial in order to maintain and sustain the future
existence of humans on Earth. Unfortunately, as the world faces agricultural
problems such as: price increases, overpopulation, and climate change, attaining food
has proven to become more difficult. Food crises are issues that have plagued humans
across the globe currently and historically. What makes this particular topic important
is not only the innate human need for food, but the fact that this complex problem is
characterized by a complex web of environmental and economic causes. Upon
investigation of different food crises throughout history, the most important causes...

As population grows, agricultural production will also grow which creates
excessive amounts of green house gases from fertilizers, cultivation of livestock,
and emissions of fuel from tractors and trucks (populationinstitute.org). Climate
change is already affecting many of the food sources available globally. Farmers
across the world are experiencing the ebb and flow of temperature changes,
droughts, floods, windstorms, and fires. These climatic disasters lead to issues
with livestock and crop productivity, and thus, a shortage of food. Climate change
has caused an immense rise in ocean temperatures causing some marine life to
stray further away from fisheries in search of cooler water (epa.gov
/climatechange). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) determined that
over 40 million people in the Lower Mekong delta in Asia rely on fisheries for food
(epa.gov/climatechange). The issue of melting Arctic ice caps changes the sea level
which has affected water quality and amount of different marine species in this area
(epa.gov/climatechange). The future of climate change is detrimental to regions
that are currently affected by drought. For example, Australia and the Sahel region
in Africa will be exposed to lower irrigation quantities (epa.gov/climatechange). In
addition lower latitude areas are also like to experience a drop in crop production due
to lack of water. Some African countries that depend on rain fed crops, may
experience a 50%
33. Analysis Of The Movie The Spotless Mind Essay
Bitter Nepenthe Friedrich Nietzsche once said, blessed are the forgetful, for they
get the better even of their blunders. We always think that forgetting is the solution
to our misery. We indulge in the idea that ignorance is bliss and that what we don t
remember won t hurt us. But do we really get the better of our mistakes if we forget
about them? Do forgetting and ignorance make us better people? Does oblivion
make us happier? Is it worth going out of our way to make sure we forget? These are
the kinds of questions Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mindaddresses. Even though
it is one of those movies which grapples with immense philosophical concepts, it
does so effortlessly and without seeming elitist or pretentious. In this romance
science fiction comedy hybrid Charlie Kaufman s amazing script as well as Michel
Gondrys whimsical direction captivate us. As is the case with every Kaufman film,
the movie discusses the consequences of tampering with human nature in the light of
human fallibility and memories. However, Eternal Sunshine has a remarkable
essence in that the burning issue at its heart is whether your life is merely a
predestined route to an inevitable destination. While the film has traces of science
fiction conventions, Gondry s signature downplaying of special effects and producing
the captivating frames directly during shooting (through removing or adding objects
to the set between shots) ensures that the viewer does not get too overwhelmed by the

Before starting a business, entrepreneurs need to take and use the methods to generate
creative ideas for product to be marketed and test new ideas. The methods are the
focus group method, brainstorming, brainwriting and problem inventory analysis.
These methods are best suitable for an organization that needs expansion in products
or services
First is focus group method, focus group is defined as a group of individuals
providing information in a structured format. A moderator leads the group of about 8
to 14 participants through an open, in depth discussion rather than simply asking
questions to solicit participants responses. The group is stimulated by comments

Brainwriting is an alternative method to brainstorming that tries to encourage a
more uniform participation within a group. Like brainstorming, it is designed to
generate lots and lots of ideas in a short amount of time. This is method more to
writing to convey new ideas for products. It also takes place in groups where each
group member will write their ideas over time.
This method has three rules that must be followed, namely the need to write or carry
forward cycle contributed three ideas in 5 minutes should be written in the form
brainwriting then give it to the next member. This is more of a discussion circle
forward the idea of each member. Next rules is following that members read every
idea that was written to serve as an inspiration to be create creative idea, if there is an
idea written on the same form barinwriting, finally, this method requires 6
participants sit together and helped by a moderator.
Lastly is problem inventory analysis method, problem inventory analysis is a
method of obtaining new ideas and solutions by focusing on problems for certain
product categories, customers usually given a list of known problems for a
particular product category and then asked to identify and discuss the products in a
category with specific problems. This will be more effective because it is much
easier to relate to products that have been identified problem proposed and obtained a

NTR191: Nutrition Counseling Skill Development
When I first read the title and the objectives of this chapter, I expected to study about
the first step of counseling. I am actually surprised that it was actually beyond than
just the counseling session. The chapter mostly analyzing us as the counselor and us
as self first.
I have taken a communication and education skills for dietetic professional in the
past. But it has been few years and it is good to re fresh some of the new materials.
Some of the objective learnings from this chapter that really interest me are
identifying factors of how people choose their foods, describing characteristic of an

And I found out that taste preference and culture background are the factors which
influence me the most (Pg. 3 4). These factors are important to study, so it would be
easier by the time we have to make the nutrition intervention. We can adjust the
intervention based on the factors which influence them the most. So clients still can
be comfortable, even when they have to change their diets.
Knowing the characteristics of effective nutrition counselors are valuable for me.
And I believe that I have many of the qualifications. One thing that is really
interesting about the characteristics is to have a sense of humor. I was a little
surprise, but agree. Besides being professional at work, as a counselor we are human
too. Humor helps to enrich the relationship with clients and helping them not to
focusing their problems too seriously (Pg.6).
The chapters suggest that we as counselors have to be able to understand our self
first, that we have to be OK if we would like to help others in need. Then it came to a
perspective that many counselors sometime forget that it is the client s needs which
need to be fulfill, not them. This situation leads to dictatorial situation where the
counselor show too much power and influence over the clients problems and decision
and forgot to be open and actually listen to the clients

Overview of Changes in this Resubmission I was delighted to receive
encouragement to resubmit this proposal and am extremely grateful to the five
reviewers for their insightful comments. I was gratified to read Reviewer 5 s
comment that the proposed activities are creative, original and potentially
transformative, and Reviewer 1 s comments that this research may lead to
theoretical advances in the understanding of stigma more broadly and that I am an
expert in this field and well suited to carry out the proposed research. Although
space limitations preclude me from detailing how I addressed every individual
comment, here I will summarize the major changes to guide the Panel s review. I
have kept the longitudinal study, which the entire Panel supported. In response to
the Panel s concerns about the experimental and speed dating studies, I have
dropped Studies 1 3 and replaced them with an experimental study that I have now
successfully piloted with 50 participants. This new study addresses Panel concerns
about the conceptualization of weight stigma and concerns that the manipulated
construct might have been general social stress or rejection rather than weight
stigma specifically. I have added a follow up point in the experience sampling study
to assess weight so as to test the entire model. I have taken to heart the criticism that
perceived overweight status is an imperfect selection variable; all studies now use
samples with BMI 25 ( overweight ) and above. Carefully
38. Causes Of Good Governance In Africa
citizens. Fundamentally therefore, to describe governance as a good one and to
determine whether it is a bad one requires the understanding of the essence of the
state which are not only embedded in the constitution but also a function of the
ethical and religious ideals and the nature of current problems confronting the state.
The curious question however is: what went wrong in the governance realm in Africa
? Two factors seem to have facilitated bad governance in Africa. First is obviously
the colonial pedigree. There is a strong linkage between the absence of good
governance in the colonial era and that of the postcolonial period. The political
structures and values, economic base and social orientation promoted in the colonial
era were antithetical to the evolution of good governance and democracy in Africa.
These structures and processes, firmly implanted, took new manifestations as
experienced in maladministration and bad governance, both internal and external in
the post colonial and the neo colonial era.
Although a lot of hopes and expectations are provided in the current process of
democratic modification and its capacity to engineer good governance, the possible
outcome of the process remains uncertain and open to speculation. In Africa, just like
any other region of the world, the indicators and cost of bad governance are
corruption, injustices, inequity, integration crisis, ethno religious feuds and a host of
others. Corruption has generated an unthinkable level
39. Constraints In Negotiations
Introduction
In any negotiation process, there are always constraints involved and decision
making process involves an analysis of the gains and tradeoffs one has to go
through to reach the best optimal solution Decision making process is not just a
psychological process as perceived by many but more of a game theory because both
the bidder and the negotiator are faced by various constraints, which both have to
develop a model with both constraints and targets and later iterate to obtain an

comes into play; both parties must go for a sacrifice. None gets exactly what he

This creates a dynamic whereby the party that supplies others with rewards
obligates them to pay back in some way,as failure to do so creates an incentive for
such a party to withhold such rewards and only supply them to individuals who will
refund it for its troubles. Thus, we can observe that increasing one s potential to
supply rewards to an interaction (i.e., improving one s contribution) can heighten an
individual s power through increasing his level of benefits that can be obtained from
the association.
With the objective to the attainment goal, negotiators here are motivated to maximize
their utility subject to constraints, which is accomplished through orienting
instructions (e.g., maximize the points earned in the negotiated solution ) and the
rewards (e.g., payment will be based on the points earned in the negotiated solution. ).
As a consequence, the attainment goals, and the operators generating outcomes that
tend to move towards the goal, have an influence on the search for solutions.
However, this agreement goal may alter the search for solutions that occur within the
fundamental problem space. More specifically, as solutions tend to unfold, they must
incorporate aspects of search by the other parties the duo mutually inform and also
constrain one
40. Sports Violence in Relation to Preserving Values in...
Bench clearing brawls in baseball, bloody hockey fights, soccer mobs, post game
sports riots, and increasing injuries are all images of today s sports that are familiar
to us.
In recent years players and fans alike have shown increased aggression when it
comes to sporting events. One of the most disturbing trends in sports is the increasing
frequency and severity of violence. Injuries and deaths among participants are on the
rise, as are injuries and deaths among fans and spectators. Violence in sportsis an
important issue because sports themselves are an important aspect in our lives and
the society we live in.
Their importance, however, should not be greater than our concern about preserving
the values and aspects of our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The social learning theory maintains that aggressive behavior is learned through
modeling and reinforced by rewards and punishments(171). Each of these theories
could play a role in the increasing violence in sports. Athletes may be seeing sports as
an outlet to vent there frustration and anger.
Young athletes often take sports heroes as role models and imitate their behavior,
which may lead to children imitating such aggressive behavior in their own
sporting activities. Many continue to argue that sports have always been violent
and that today things are no better or worse than they were years ago. However,
according to Berger, evidence contradicts this and sources show there are more
serious injuries and violent acts on and off the field in today s sports than there were
in the past(9 10). Violence in sports is not a new concept, but it is more prevalent
and harmful today than it was in the past(Yeager
126). There has been an increase in the frequency and seriousness of acts of
violence, which is most prevalent in team contact sports, such as ice hockey,
football, soccer, rugby, and even basketball. This is likely due to the increased
competitiveness in sports. The strive for competitiveness starts in youth sports and
only escalates in college and professional sports(Berger 12). The greater
41. Esperanza Ahumada Research Paper
My names is Teresa Esperanza Ahumada. I was born in Walnut Creek on January
28th. Before I moved to Brentwood when I was 6, I lived in Antioch. I live with
my mother, grandparents, and two brothers named Nick and Marcus. I am the
middle child so as you can imagine it gets crazy. I also have a dog named Duke. He
loves to jump on Marcus.
I like to act and read. In fact, I am part of the Rising Stars Club and Book Club at
Heritage High School. I am really passionate about both of them. I started acting last
year and I hated reading up until 5th grade when my cousin got me the Hunger
Games trilogy for Christmas.
One of my major accomplishments in life so far is that a few months ago an author
contacted me and asked me to read her book
42. Lady Lazarus by Sylvia Plath
Lady Lazarus was written by Sylvia Plath. On a literal level, this poem is about
death and attempting suicide. It is most likely that it was written from Plath s
personal experience as she was known for her suicidal nature. This poem has 28
tercet stanzas. There is no clear rhyme scheme yet rhyming can be found
throughout this poem, for example I have done it again/One year in every ten , so
there is an irregular rhyme scheme. Literary devices such as end stopped lines and
enjambment are also used: What a trash/To annihilate each decade. One important
aspect is the demonic tone of this poem. The way that Plath seems to tell the story
as if it were a show or carnival is another aspect which ties in to the demonic tone of

There are a number of themes brought up in Lady Lazarus . One theme is the
holocaust. In the 2nd stanza, Plath mentions a Nazi lampshade . This refers to the
myth that the Nazis used Jewish skin from the victims of the holocaust to make
pieces of furniture such as lampshade and paperweight . This idea adds to the
disturbance of the poem whilst illustrating the main theme of death. Another theme is
the phoenix. This is a mythical, red haired bird that burns when it dies and
resurrects out of the ash. Plath describes this process in her poem: I turn and
burn...Out of the ash/I rise with my red hair . The idea of the phoenix resurrecting
gives the reader powerful imagery whilst reinforcing the fact that Sylvia Plath
wants to die but keeps coming back to life, like a phoenix. However, she sees this
as a negative, which relates to, in my opinion, the most important aspect of this
poem: the demonic tone. Plath uses carnival imagery to convey the image of her
death being like a show, where people come to watch: The Peanut crunching crowd
/Shoves in to see . This idea is disturbing and adds to the demonic tone of the poem.
Also, she refers to Satan in the 27th stanza: Herr God, Herr Lucifer ; she is also
demonising God in this quote, which is blasphemous and some might say evil.
Finally, the image of a fire doesn t just relate to a phoenix burning but also the fires
of hell : ...melts to a shriek./I turn and
43. Carbon Dioxide As A Chemical Compound
Carbon dioxide is a chemical compound. When it is at a certain room temperature
it goes into gas form. Everybody such as people and animals release carbon dioxide
when breathing out. Also when something is burnt and fire occurs that also release
carbon dioxide. How was carbon dioxide created? Carbon dioxide is created when
one carbon and two oxygen comes together. As shown below:
Another thing is that plants also use carbon dioxide in order to make food. This is
known as photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a chemical process that involves sunlight
to turn carbon dioxide into sugar that the cells can use as energy.
Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gas is the reflect radiation that the
earth emits, and stop it from being lost into space. This causes the Earth s temperature
to be higher than it would be without greenhouse gases. Ever since the Industrial
Revolution began around 1750, human activities have contributed a lot to climate
change by adding carbon dioxide and among other heat trapping gases into the
atmosphere. Some scientists think that greenhouse gases are causing global warming,
the rise of Earth s surface temperature.
What is Carbon dioxide? Carbon dioxide or CO2 for short is a colorless, odorless,
faintly acidic tasting, non flammable gas. It is considered the fourth most abundant
gas in the earth s atmosphere. Constantly being used among the atmosphere, ocean,
and land surface as it is both produced and absorbed by many microorganisms,
44. African American History In The Late 20th Century
Federal records opens one perspective regarding American history. One example is
the establishment of the national archives. Federal records contained amount of
information on African American. Federal records also propelled the field of study
African American history. Afro American historical research benefited from of the
innovation and demands from black scholarship. The need to separate African
Americanfrom U.S. history became imperative in the late 20th century. However
finding records that report the part of African Americans in American work history
can be troublesome on the grounds that the government organizations and workplaces
that made these records orchestrated their lists and documents by name of foundation.
The acknowledgement of federal records not only had an impact in academic but also
it showed African American valor and patriotism. The records contain letters that
share personal thought between soldier and family member. Federal records
involvement in their African American personal live took shape after the civil war.

Their dual identity of being American and black set them separated from an
expansive populace of outsiders of color. The series of records (General
Correspondence, 1904 1914; General Records, 1914 1960; and Alpha Files, 1904
1960) contain a considerable measure of data concerning how African Americans,
White Americans, Panamanians, West Indians were treated in panama. Qualifications
were made that cut crosswise over racial and citizenship lines. White Americans were
dealt uniquely in contrast to African Americans. Government records reported the
livelihood of people of color. It was important that these records demonstrated that
African Americans were not by any means the only people subjected to discriminatory
45. Structure Between Vertical Levels Of Governance
The strength of ESH as a framework compared to other more popular research
frameworks in this instance stems from capturing the essence of state policy making
in a more detailed manner in regards to a monolithic or more commonly dilithic
conception of the Chinese state. While the unitary state or dГ yД« tЗ’ng
(大一统) has been part of the Chinese statecraft lexicon for centuries describing
the Chinese state as a monolithic entity devoid of variation both horizontally and
vertically is antiquated (although still popular in the popular consciousness and
discourse on China). Changes in local state relationships in the reform era and
beyond to the point that the complex interplay between vertical levels of governance

He argues that based on local networks and ties leaders native to the locality deviate
more from national policy guidelines than non native leaders to promote local
interests. Using Huang s Origin model of Chinese leadership officials (especially
2nd tier officials) in Guizhou emphasized poverty reduction as part of their (being
from the province) inherent care for the wellbeing of the people in the province as
a priority over political promotion i.e. locals who happen to come from humble
backgrounds (or people willing to work closely with them (see Hu Jintao s tenure as
governor of the province) are more committed to making life better in the province
than career politicians.
In addition to local actors as determinates, Donaldson argues that characteristics of
the provinces may have also played a role in the divergent path of each. Given the
historical legacy of Guizhou compared to Yunnan, the former being a more migrant
based society with the later having millennia long ties to the land, may have had
something to do with the changes. The most distinctive, he believes are the respective
financial resources of each province, with Yunnan having a 50% larger budget at the
beginning of the reform era than Guizhou. This makes pursuing economic
development polices with high financial costs easier as compared to poverty
reduction programs that Guizhou took on.
Yunnan on the other hand, using the same model, demonstrates how

Introduction: Sledgehammer games making the next Call of Duty
It seems like every year since 2007, Call of Duty has been the same game and for the
past 6 years, fans of the series are getting a little frustrated and tired of it. Paying
$60 for the same game but from a different developer each year, well this article has
everyone asking these questions:
What do you think Sledgehammer s Call of Duty will be?
What will be the strategies of this tactic?
Will this new studio bring Call of Duty to newer heights?
BackGround: The Purpose of Sledgehammer games getting into the mix with Infinity
Ward and Treyarch
Call of Duty has been around since 2003, Call of Duty 2 in 2005 was a huge hit with
the release of the Xbox 360. In 2006 Call of Duty 3 was not that good of a game. In
2007, Call of Duty revolutionized the game with a new engine to help with
multiplayer but ever since then Call of Duty feels like it is the same game every year
Activision is preparing to fix this problem with Sledgehammer games creating the
next Call of Duty for 2014, they helped with the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer back
in 2011. Activision feels that this move will give the developers enough time to
create better ideas for DLC, (which stands for Downloadable Content) and for the
game as a whole.
DLC has been out since 2008 and it is an extension to the game with new maps and
cameos with mainly focusing on the multiplayer

Dionysus
Introduction Dionysus is an important figure of Greek mythology. He is the
Olympian god of wine, vegetation, festivity and pleasure. He represents humanity s
longing for pleasure and desire to celebrate. Dionysus is also the god of hallucination,
theatre, reincarnation and homosexuality. He is called: the youthful, beautiful, but
effeminate god of wine. He is also called both by Greeks and Romans Bacchus
(Bakchos), that is, the noisy or riotous god... (Roman 201). The most popular honour
that Dionysus received, besides being granted a place in Olympus, was the Dionysia
festival in Athens, Greece. The festival was celebrated in honour of Dionysus, and
the central events of which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dionysus planned to let him reflect and learn from his mistakes. However, Zeus
did not care to have the gods insulted, so he blinded then killed Lycurgus, (Hunt 1).
Dionysus moved on to Thebes, which at the time was ruled by his cousin
Pentheus. Pentheus did not know who Dionysus was, or that he was a god.
Dionysus was with his group of followers, we were singing and dancing while
drunk on wine. Pentheus did not like the strangers, and ordered his guards to
imprison all of them. Pentheus insulted Dionysus, and called him a cheating
sorcerer . The prophet Teiresias, who had already dressed as one of Dionysus s
followers gave Pentheus a warning: The man you reject is a new god. He is Semele
s child, whom Zeus rescued. He and Demeter, are the greatest upon earth for men.
Pentheus laughed at Teiresias, and ordered the guards to continue. The guards ropes
fell apart, their latches opened, and they realized that they could not imprison
Dionysus and his followers. Dionysus was taken to Pentheus, and tried to explain his
worship. Pentheus only listened to his own anger, and insulted Dionysus. Dionysus
gave up and left Pentheus to his doom. Pentheus pursued Dionysus followers up into
the hills where they had gone after walking away from his prison. Many of the local
women including Pentheus mother and sister had joined them there. Then Dionysus
appeared to his followers in his most
