How To Write An Abstract For An Essay
Writing an essay on the process of crafting an abstract for an essay may seem like a
straightforward task, but it involves a nuanced understanding of both the specific requirements
for abstracts and the broader principles of effective academic writing. First and foremost, one
needs to comprehend the purpose of an abstract – to succinctly summarize the main points
and findings of the essay.
To delve into the intricacies of the subject, it is crucial to explore the diverse types of abstracts,
such as descriptive, informative, and critical abstracts. Each type has its unique characteristics,
and understanding when to use each becomes pivotal in producing a well-crafted abstract.
Moreover, discussing the key components of an abstract, such as the research question,
methodology, results, and conclusion, requires a comprehensive grasp of the essay's content. The
challenge lies in condensing this information into a concise yet informative format. Striking a
balance between brevity and clarity is essential to ensure that the abstract effectively
communicates the essence of the essay.
Additionally, addressing the common pitfalls in abstract writing, such as including unnecessary
details or failing to capture the significance of the research, demands a critical eye. Providing
practical tips for avoiding these pitfalls further complicates the writing process.
Furthermore, exploring the connection between the abstract and the overall essay requires a
holistic understanding of the writing process. The abstract serves as a miniature version of the
entire work, and elucidating how it aligns with the essay's structure and purpose necessitates a
deep understanding of both.
In conclusion, writing an essay on how to craft an abstract involves navigating through the
intricate nuances of abstract writing, understanding the different types, deciphering the essential
components, and addressing potential pitfalls. It requires not only a profound comprehension of
the subject matter but also the ability to articulate this knowledge effectively. Crafting an essay
on this topic demands a careful balance between providing detailed insights and maintaining
conciseness – a challenge that requires skill and expertise in academic writing.
For those seeking assistance with such essays or other academic tasks, various platforms offer
professional writing services. Websites likeHelpWriting.net provide a range of options for
ordering essays, research papers, and more. These services can be particularly helpful for those
navigating the complexities of academic writing or facing time constraints.

The Strongest Song Of Kintsugi s Black Sun
When I heard the first single off of Kintsugi, Black Sun , I have to say I was
concerned. Between the overproduction and the sloppy lo fi guitar solo, well, lets
just say doubts were forming. However, my optimism has paid off, because in my
opinion Black Sun was the weakest song on the album. Kintsugi is the best Death
Cab album since Transatlanticism, featuring guitar melodies that hearken back to the
best Death Cab album: We Have the Facts and We re Voting Yes. While, yes, I liked
this album, I take major issue with the widespread claims that frontman Ben Gibbard
has gotten his writing skills back. The early Death Cab albums, like Kintsugi,
focused on failed relationships and pining over ideal romances; however, the writing
on these (Something About Airplanes, We Have the Facts..., and The Photo Album)
is significantly more indirect. Kintsugi s writing is filled with relationship issues
portrayed a bit too directly for the tone of the music.... Show more content on

Kintsugi is a breath of fresh air in the Death Cab, a reprieve after the malaise that
was 2011′s Codes and Keys. Kintsugi is a return to the more interesting, better
orchestrated, and (frankly) more melancholic guitar lines that he is so very good at
constructing. The synths that do remain from Codes and Keys are better orchestrated
and compliment the music better as opposed to clashing with the classic Death Cab
Resilience Across Lifespan
Resilience across a lifespan can happen different ways from physical development to
cognitive development. We also have social and emotional development. Throughout
this paper resilience will be applied to all of the above mentioned concepts.
Resilience across a lifespan is described through theories, measures, and even
personality characteristics. Resiliencehas also been applied to the impacts of
disasters and traumatic experiences in which will also be touched on throughout
this paper. Resilience is described as the process of adapting well in the face of
adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress (American
Psychological Association, 2016). Resilience is an ordinary thing in human
beings. It is often described as bouncing back, which refers to bouncing back from
difficult times or situations. As a person grows older resilience grows as well. A
person s past can most certainly affect how a person uses resiliency in the present.
If a person is not affected negatively a lot in their past when it comes time for a
person to bounce back, they will not bounce back as smoothly as a person who has
had a very traumatic past and has learned how to bounce back in a smoother
fashion. A person s past determines their resiliency in the present and a person s
present determines their resiliency efforts in the future. Resiliency is different for
each and every person. Resiliency also can grow with a person or can dissipate
Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates
In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air
normally inhaled, while the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In
this experiment, a round balloon is utilized to measure both the tidal volume and the
lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible factors impacting the vital
capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an impact on
vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more
room for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled,
resulting in increased lungcapacity.
Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position,
expansion
Introduction
In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located
in the chest cavity and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon
dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and
contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and out of the lungs
can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as
Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be
established. Lung capacity can be measured either using a spirometer
(Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round balloon. The amount of air
inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult, tidal volume
is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs
Essay On Marwaris
In shaping the history of India, the Marwaris had made a large impact. Even up until
today, this business group is the most popular when business class is mentioned.
However, their history brings them back long ago, since the 19th century, where they
start moving around. Marwaris is definitely the most economically powerful
community in all of India. They went from traders to industrialists, with religious
reliefs as a contributing factor to their success as well.
Starting from the 1813, Charter Act of the British East India Company was renewed
and it abolished the monopoly of trade with India. This means that India was opened
up to private investments now. Therefore, many British trading companies
established in Bombay and Calcutta. However, the British lacked an intermediary in
the area. To sell their goods from England as well as getting raw materials from rural
areas, the British needed an extensive number of local agents to help them. This is
where to Marwaris acted as their intermediary traders and ... Show more content on

The migrants started as clerks, brokers or agents to the larger Marwaris firms. The
early Marwaris migrants helped the latter ones to enter behind them. Thus, the
existence of great firms such as Tarachand Ghanshyamdas, founded by the Poddar of
Ramghar, and Sevaram Ramrikhadas, founded by the Singhania family, was a critical
element in enabling the migration of the Marwaris. From being the employees of the
jute firms, the Marwaris bought over the stocks the many jute firms, which were
previously under the British merchant houses. With past managerial experience, they
floated shares to build new jute mills and other companies. Due to the
oversubscription and stock exchange regulations, the Marwaris were able to control a
mill even if they own less than 10 to 20 percent of the shares. This led them in

Electronic Dance Music Analysis
Joo developed an early interest in music shortly after her mother put her through
piano lessons at the age of 5. She started performing vocally since elementary school
and continued to hone her skills throughout high school. As a sophomore in high
school, she advanced from an intermediate choir group to the chamber choir group
within one semester. During her junior year of high school, she sang the National
Anthem in before her high school football games.
During that time period, she developed an interest in techno and electronic music.
Growing up, she listened to major Electronic Dance Music producers such as
Crystal Method, Darue and Tiesto. At the age of 18 years old, she watched her first
EDM performance with Pretty Lights at the King Plow Arts Center in 2009. That
moment, she fell deeper in love with the production and performance side of
Electronic Dance Music. She was deeply intrigued by how the various technological
sounds and lights can work in conjunction to create a unique blend of set performance.
After high school, she got accepted to the University of Georgia. Like many college
students, she was indecisive about her future and career. But she always knew ...

The Battle for Value, 2004: FedEx Corp. vs. United Parcel Service, Inc.
FedEx will produce superior financial returns for shareowners by providing high
value added supply chain, transportation, business, and related information services

While FedEx chose the strategy of a local partnership, UPS chose to enter the market
alone. In 2005 UPS bought out the remaining shares of gained ownership of
Sinotrans. This gave UPS 89 operating facilities in 45 different locations, covering
over 330 cities throughout China. There are challenges though: * Foreign airlines
cannot run domestic routes * EMS, the local parcel delivery service, is less
expensive than the entering international companies (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) *
Brand recognition is low on the mainland, this goes back to Chinese culture of
keeping with tradition (including traditional companies) UPS was able to overcome
this with their participation in the Olympic Games

in Asian territories (Bruner amp; Carr, 2010) along with commercial volume.

challenge with slightly different goals. These goals, which coincide with the
Redlands Wind Ensemble
The University of Redlands Wind Ensemble, directed by Eddie R. Smith, put on a
show at the Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 16th. Walking into the
monumental Chapel I was unsure of what to expect. As I walked in I saw the
amazing artwork around, the high ceilings, and a wide variety of instruments
scattered on different levels of the stage. On the first level there were many small
hand held instruments such as flutes and clarinets, on the second there were a wide
variety of brass instruments, and finally in the last row were the percussion
instruments. Knowing that it was a wind ensemble and not a traditional orchestra like
the ones we have been made familiar with during this course, I was unsure of what to
expect. I thought that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This song seemed to require the most work from the performers as it used a wide
range of dynamics, pitches, and tempo. The last song of the evening, and probably
my favorite (not just because it was the last), was Folk Dances . This song, just
like the first, had a very festive feel to it. The upbeat tempo, lead by the flutes and
clarinets, made the song very enjoyable to hear and also had a very happy feel to
it, which, in my mind, made it a very appropriate closer. The song started with a
great tempo but a relatively soft dynamic. This quickly changed about half way
through the song when the dynamics picked up. The loud dynamics with the fast
tempo at the end of the song had a very grandiose sound and left the audience with a
great taste in their mouths. Overall, this was a very good performance. The audience
applauded greatly at the end as parents stood proudly and embraced their sons and
daughters. I thought that it was well put together and was very interesting. I enjoyed
the music more than I thought I would and have the upmost of respect for the

The Importance Of Purpose In Life
In order to answer the question how to find your path in life , first of all I d like to
clarify that finding your path in life is different AND MORE IMPORTANT than
finding your purpose in life... When people talk or explore finding their purpose in
life a lot of them have ideas on their purpose, but they don t know where to start. Or
a lot of other people make passion lists, do s and dont s list but they still are not
able to find their purpose. Or people question themselves is this what I am supposed
to be doing ?
And then once you want to take action to find your purpose in life, another big
challenge that most people have when making changes in life is fear . For example
fear of making the wrong choice, fear of not being good ... Show more content on

Which group do you belong to?
Here are 12 strategies that can help you answer the question how to find your path in
life
1. There is always uncertainty... so learn to be comfortable with it. There is no right
or wrong choice, there is only a choice... so make the choice you believe will lead
you to your life path. How? Use your intuition and gut feeling.
2. Patience, you can NOT speed up your finding your path and your purpose in
life... you can only cultivate your purpose which is like you give water to a flower.
So focus on your path and overtime your purpose will reveal itself. TIP: use your
Monk Intuition when you make decisions
3. Combine your passions, one of my friends is 7 times Canadian Kayaking
Champion, Executive Coach, Speaking Coach and developed a painting technique
as an artist called Painting Without a Brush ... she doesn t chose one purpose, she s
simply on her path in life and her purposes will evolve overtime
4. Connect the dots on your life journey to see your path more clearly
How Does Adolescent Modality Effectiveness
Adolescent Substance Abuse Modality Effectiveness
Introduction:
For my review of the literature I have chosen to look at treatment modality
effectiveness for adolescent substance abuse counseling, to build upon the foundation
of literature in evidence based practices. I aim to improve my own understanding of
current treatment interventions for substance abuse counseling. In an effort to
efficiently explore the issues surrounding treatment modalities for adolescent
substance abuse counseling effectiveness, a subset of the literature has been selected
for its relevance to the following questions:
1. Does treatment modality affect drug and alcohol counseling effectiveness within
the adolescent population?
2. Do interventions effectively affect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The analysis found that Unfortunately, less than 7% of those who try to quit achieve
more than 1 year of abstinence. In fact, most individuals relapse within a few days of
their quit attempt. (Fritz et al., 2008) The adolescent population is facing a nicotine
plague of epidemic proportions. Fitz et al., (2008) concluded that the majority of
adolescents (82.3%) reported smoking as a means to relax. It is of interest to note
that many smoked for emotional reasons, including stress reduction (75.0%) and
feelings of depression and worry (68.8%). Fritz et al., (2008) further demonstrated the
need for smoking cessation when their findings suggest that 43% of people between
the ages of 10 and 22 years who smoke as few as three cigarettes a day become
habitual smokers (CDC, 2004). These figures support the recent findings that the
largest proportion (28.5%) of smokers is among people between the ages of 18 and
24 years (ALA, 2004). Seeing that this issue is one of the leading causes of death
in the US based upon preventability. Researchers and clinicians alike are trying to
find adequate addressing ways to increase smoking cessation effectiveness. Fitz et
al., (2008) also conclude by saying that those adolescents who smoke are three times
more likely to drink alcohol, eight times more likely to smoke marijuana, and 22
times more likely to use cocaine than adolescents who do not
How Did Machiavelli Lose The Power Of Government
When the Prince was written in 1513, the Medici family had just returned to rule
Florence after losing rule to the Savonarola family for 18 years (notes 9/15).
Machiavelli says he intends this book to be read by the Magnificent Lorenzo de
Medici (DL.3) as a testimony of his homage (DL.3). Machiavelli may say he
intended this book for the Medici but he wrote the entire book in Italian which was
the common language for the people of Italy. In this time period, books were read
and appreciated by the upper class so the books were written in Latin which makes
me believe that Machiavelli wanted his opinions and views of principalities to be
readily available to the masses.
Machiavelli says his intention is for Medici to understand how to rule so that he does
not lose his power over the people again. Machiavelli explains different ways of
achieving rule over a group of people with each chapter a different way to gain power
and he shows how other rules have lost their power. Each chapter is portrayed not
as a benefit of how to rule rather as a warning. For example, in chapter 3, Machiavelli
explains that when gaining rule over a people who have have been ruled by other
princes and are now added to become under another princes rule there are five ways
to gain the trust and respect of the people. He says these ways are as follows: ... Show

using resources from the local library and correctly citing them. I will also explain
how my one class in my high school graded my whole paperwrong for using I and
how I used that information in my classes now to improve on that and not let it

want to finish it and move on to the next thing on my to do list. It ends up sounding
sloppy and does not make sense in any way. Third grade is when I first started to
get help with my writing and help in classes. I was brought to a tutor to help me
learn other words and to understand them better. He helped me with my work
because I always would fall behind. Then in my high school, we were able to pick an
elective as an extra course to take. I always took an English course. The ones I took
were called Creative Writing and Grammar Composition. I took two years of creative

By acquiring DreamWorks the main advantage that the company will be able to
derive is the fact that this will help the company in consolidating the market
position of the company. Another important factor that will probably be a guiding
light for the acquisition is the fact that recently the company has not fared well in
the box office. This will result in the fact that Pixar will have to pay lesser price
while trying to acquire the company. However the company has traditionally
challenged Disney at the box office by offering the films that tell stories with a bit
more subversion and humor as compared to Disney. The company DreamWorks
has also acquired a loyal following in the countries like Russia, Korea, China and
Brazil unlike any other studios (Shaw, 2013). Thus if Pixar is able to successfully
acquire Dream works then it will able to command a significant portion of the
foreign market. As the world of animation is no longer a monopoly the companies
have to all the time strive to be better and to consolidate their position in the market.
The acquisition of DreamWorks will provide that perfect opportunity for Pixar.

realize he is allowing his emotionto be broadcasted verbally. The word choice in
Michelle gives the reader a sense into the male character s emotions by saying, Sont

St. Francis s Basic Social Services Essay
Since 1984 Saint Francis has offered basic social services that potentially save the
lives of several. As the organization itself says, Saint Francis house s main mission
is to rebuild lives by providing refuge and pathways to stability for adults
experiencing homelessness and poverty (Saint Francis House 1). They do this by
providing several services. Their services include: Food, daytime shelter, clothing,

depth, the food department makes sure each homeless person is fed. They serve
breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the first

sandwiches at 2:45 am for anyone that may need it at night. Just over the last year
they served 220,000 meals, showing the impact it has within the people they serve
in Boston. Moreover, the clothing distribution center, rather Fresh Threads focuses
on being a center for clothing items. Here, the person can register for an

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Analysis
In One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, by Ken Kesey, the climax occurs when Nurse
Ratched, the antagonist, forces the men who return from the boating trip to
shower, causing a violent melee that leads to the book s resolution. McMurphy,
one of the protagonists in the story, arranges a special boating trip to let the other
men in the ward have a sense of happiness and independence. As Nurse Ratched
discovers that the men interact with a prostitute, she furiously demands the men to
cleanse their bodies. George expresses his disapproval of the nurse s demand due
to his phobia of cleanliness, and McMurphy and Chief Bromden physically fight the
nurses as a part of their protest. In the end McMurphy and Chief Bromden relocate
to the Disturbed Ward for their extreme behavior: They kept talking like that, to
cheer us up and make us feel better, about what a fight, what a victory as the Big
Nurse helped the aides from Disturbed adjust those soft leather cuffs to fit our arms
(234). The main theme of the novel, the overthrowing of authority comes to a close,
and Nurse Ratched finally captures McMurphy, the man who encourages the rest of
the patients to resist her oppression. This climatic scene contributes to the resolution:
the weaker party, or the patients, win by proving their point of intolerance towards
authority, yet Nurse Ratched remains the ultimate person in control. Shortly after the
incident, Nurse Ratched metaphorically and literally sucks the life out of McMurphy

Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And The...
The dominance of men over woman has been around for centuries. Most men in the
19th century thought that woman were supposed to be this feminine obedient

In the poem A work of Artifice written by Marge Piercy displays the transform and
discouragement most woman go through to be accepted in a man s world. The
poem begins with the speaker discussing a bonsai tree and how the tree if given the
opportunity could grow to eight feet tall. The tree through the use of imagery is
used to symbolize the way that women are oppressed by males. Till split by

the bonsai tree. The poem carries on talking about how a gardener saved it, pruned
it, and how it grew. The gardener in this story symbolizes men taking care of
woman, but yet making sure they woman have their limits to not outgrow men:
With living creatures one must begin very early to dwarf their growth . The man or
society must begin early as well in order to trick women into unwillingly being
oppressed. Men feel the need to stunt ones growth or to belittle a person and to make
them feel small. This is what
Resinsof Bakelite
Bakelite s molding process had a number of advantages. Bakelite resin could be
provided either as powder or as preformed partially cured slugs thus increasing the
speed of the casting. Thermosetting resinsof Bakelite though require heat and
pressure during the molding cycle, but without being cooled it could be removed
from the molding process, hence the molding process becomes faster [36]. Because
of the smooth polished surface that is obtained, Bakelite objects required less
finishing. Bakelite can be molded very quickly thus it is good for mass production of
identical units. Moldings are smooth, retain their shape and are resistant to heat,

John Maynard Keyne Research Paper
Hello Professor Classmates, John Maynard Keyne born on June 5, 1883 was born
into a well educated family. His father was an economist as well as philosopher
and his mother was the town s first female mayor. His education was at Eton and
Cambridge University majoring in mathematics. In addition, as the article states,
Following the outbreak of World War One, Keynes joined the treasury, and in the
wake of the Versailles peace treaty, he published The Economic Consequences of
the Peace in which he criticized the exorbitant war reparation demanded from a
defeated Germany and prophetically predicted that it would foster a desire for
revenge among Germans. This best selling book made him world famous. (BBC,

Voltmeter Construction
ABSTRACT
The objective of this project is to design LCD digital oscilloscope for practical use.
The basic concept for the project involves reading the voltage signal at the input and
displaying it on the screen of an alphanumeric LCD. The input analog signals are
supplied to the ADC(Analog to Digital Converter), which are then sampled by it and
the amplitude of the signal(voltage) is displayed on the LCD.
Device Components:
Microcontroller or processor:
We used Atmega16 an Atmel AVR series microcontroller. The processor clock was
set to 11MHz internal oscillator.
Analog to Digital Converter:
In this device we use Atmega16 s inbuilt analog to digital converter. It is a 10 bit

As the name implies it uses analogue techniques throughout to create the pattern on
the display. Typically they use a cathode ray tubewhere the voltages on the x and y
plats cause a dot on the screen to move. In the horizontal direction this is controlled
by the time base, whereas in the vertical direction the deflection is proportional to the
signal input. Essentially the signal is amplified and applied to the Y plates of the
cathode ray tube.
A cathode ray tube consists of a number of elements. There is an electron gun that
generates an electron beam that is fired along the length of the tube. This beam
passes by deflection plates that are used to deflect the beam, as a result of
electrostatic attraction and repulsion, and finally the beam hits a phosphor coating on
the screen creating a small dot of light.
To assist in making the trace as clear as possible, intensity and focus controls are
included. The focus ensures that the dot that scans the screen remains as sharp as
possible and in this way it can deliver a clear trace. The intensity control is required
because the intensity of the dot or trace varies according to the speed at which the
scan is made. Controlling the intensity enables a clear trace to be obtained.
When the scan is very slow the dot is seen to traverse the screen and it is difficult to
visualize the
Vikings Identity
What impact have the Vikings had on the history and identity of northern England?
The Impact the Vikings had on the history and identity of northern England is of a
complex nature. Ethnic identities consist of many different factors from an
individual s language, religion, culture, it could also be defined by history,
geographical or ancestry origin. It is possible national identities could also be
undermined by regional identity. This could be from social roles, like a father,
farmer or a vicar which assume other identities. For these reasons, it is clearly
extremely difficult to define the identity of a society. The historical impact the
Vikings left behind in northern England can be seen in place names, the use of
language and accents, as well as some cultural aspects.

It refers to the act of travelling to raid, steal and plunder. A generalist term used for
people of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Vikings have several labels in medieval
texts which suggest several assigned identities; scholar Alcuin wrote from the
court of Charlemagne to Bishop Higebald, following the first recorded Viking raid
in 793 on the monastery at Lindisfarne. Outraged, he describes the Vikings as
heathens [who] desecrated god s sanctuaries . They were repeatedly referred to as
Gaill or foreigners in The Annals of Ulster. Historical sources show that England was
subject to regular attacks from Scandinavians so it was no surprise that they were
given these names like Heathens, Pagans, Northmen and Danes. The English referred
to them primarily as Vikings. These multiple identities are linked to the Viking
invasions and raids of England and aids in developing and understanding how the
lasting history and identities where formed in the north of England. It could be said
much of the history and identity was shaped from the identities orchestrated
politically by the kings of Wessex to achieve unity
Observation In Criminal Court
My research was done through the observation of criminal court. I was there to
observe interaction between the judge, attorneys and defendants, and criminal
court felt like the best place to do so. The local court that I attended handled the
pre trial matters such as arraignments and preliminary hearings. I stayed for all of
the proceedings for the day to maximize my observation. I wanted to get a feel for
everything the court does on a given day. I was eager to see how interactions
between people in real court differs from what you see on TV.
I saw a lot of cases during my time observing but unfortunately not enough variety.
The first part of a criminal case that occurs in court is usually arraignment.
Arraignment is where the accused is given ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The one that was most prevalent was the fifth amendment. Since arraignments and
preliminary hearings are all in the beginning of the criminal process this one came up
a lot so that defendants know what their rights are. Starting with arraignment the first
thing the judge did was read the defendant the charges then the full Miranda rights.
Then with all the time that people waived their preliminary hearing the judge
would essentially tell them how their giving up each of their Miranda rights at that
time. The Miranda rights is where due process came from so that was properly
upheld. The 8th Amendment was also a legal protection that was upheld during the
process. At the end of arraignments the judge would say You have the right to a
court date within 30 days of initial appearance , and he gave each person the same
amount of bail. The majority of the cases were similar with misdemeanors or
disorderly conduct charges so it was fair to set bail the same. So he showed the right
to reasonable and consistent bail, and sentencing appropriate to crime. I also observed
some hints to the 4th Amendment during the hearings because the defense would
question probable cause. All the rights of the 6th Amendment such as right to
counsel, cross examination, speedy trial are evident during
Historical Book Justice
Throughout much of the historical writings of the Bible, ranging from the book of
Joshua to the book of Esther, the central narrations depict the formation of kingship
that leads Israel. This can be further broken into three sections. First being the
Theocracy, covering the period when Israel was ruled by God. Second, is the
Monarchy which traces Israel Kings from the good to the bad leading to the nation
s destruction. Third, is the restoration describing Israel s remnant after the seventy
years of captivity. For the sake of limitation, an example from each section will be
analyzed. In the historical books justice is prevalent because it is an ideal that
closely associates with government or an avenue in which justice is easily issued. In...

As noted in previous sections, the state of the world was far from shalom and God
was on a mission to restore this. However, it also seemed Israel was not going to be
the source of redemption as they only held the desire to be like the nations, lacking
a manner of justice. Yet, in this last category one can note of the beginning process
of restoration until the time of Jesus. In this section, there is one important verse
to pay attention to. In Ezra 10:14 the idea of justice is reinstated but not in a way
that is simply justice put into action, but in the intent to regather the people of
God; to bring all back into a community of love. This is one step closer to restoring
shalom. The verse prior to this example is key in understanding this (Ez. 10:9 14).
Ezra the priest is calling the people of Israel to rid of their sin and draw back into a
state that is founded in God s will (justice acted in love, love, generosity, and service)

The Rocking Horse Winner Selfish Quotes
Trapped In D.H. Lawrence s The Rocking Horse Winner, Paul is a young boy at a
very impressionable age, whom desperately wants his mother s love and attention. He
is observing and learning about life from his environment and the people who occupy
it. Paul s mother, Hester, because of her own selfish desires, unknowingly contributes
to her son s acquirement of unhealthy behaviors. Paul believes, to his mothers blame,
that luck brings money and money brings happiness. Hester s internal selfishness,
dissatisfaction and beliefs seem to lead Paul to his ultimate demise. First, Hester s
selfishness is portrayed in her character through her innermost feelings for her
children. According to the narrator, [Hester] felt they had been thrust upon her, and
she could not love them (484). A typical mother s love is unconditional and is
expressed through nurturing, protection, guidance and affirmation; this helps
children grow and develop into healthy minded adults. Instead, Hester is so
consumed with herself and the image she maintains; that, even though she does not
say it out loud, it becomes quite obvious to her children that she does not love them
and they [can] read it in each other s eyes (485). This selfish personality in Hester
creates a strong desire in Paul s undeveloped mind to begin searching for something

Comparing Jesus Christ In Steinbeck s Jim Casy
Jim Casy, a martyr and leader with a large following, reflects the sacrifices of Jesus
Christ for the downtrodden by uniting the less privileged and rebelling against the
religious constrictions of their time. Jim Casy parallels Jesus Christ in many ways
throughout the novel. Steinbeck purposefully gave Jim Casy the same initials as Jesus
Christin order to signify the link between these two influential figures. Jim Casy, like
Jesus Christ, is consistently willing to sacrificehimself for the greater good. When a
scuffle ensues between Tom Joad and a police officer in Hooverville, Jim Casey

to be arrested because Tom has broken parole, Jim recognizes that there would be
less suffering if he takes the blame, so he does. Jim is watching out for someone he
cares for deeply, and is willing to make a sacrifice for Tom. He would rather be
punished than see another person be punished more than himself. Jim believes
that since he s got no kids, it would be better for him to be in jail as compared to
Tom because Tom has a family and is someone s son. Jim values family and wants
to keep the Joad family together and since he does not have his own family and
does not have a present father, Jim believes it would be better for him to be in jail as

The Russian Mafia
The Russian Mafia, also known as Bratva (Brotherhood) is a collection of various
organized crime groups that originated during the former Soviet Union era. It is
made up of underworld leadership in which engages in providing illegal goods and
services that range anywhere from drugs and weapons smuggling to gambling and
human trafficking. As in the U.S, there is no universally accepted definition of
organized crimein Russia. However, the Bratva shares many basic characteristics with
other well known criminal organizations such as the Italian Mafia. Therefore, the
definition that has been commonly used in the U.S will be fitting for the Bratva as
well. The FBI defines organized crimeas, any group having some manner of a
formalized structure and whose primary objective is to obtain money through illegal
activities (FBI). The Bratva falls under this definition with one of its many groups,
the Vory v Zakone , which translates to Thieves in law . They are bound by a code
of honor in which states that one is not to make a living on anything other than
thievery, complete submission to the laws of criminal life, including obligations to
support the criminal ideal and refusal to participate in all political activities (Omics).
Give a history of it s formation, growth, and key events (prosecutions etc.)
Criminal organizations existed long before the economic disaster and fall of the
Soviet Union in the 1990 s which resulted in a break through for organized crime.

Themes Of Dark Romanticism
Many people think the natural world is a dark place. What makes human beings think
this? Is it that they were brought up as a child to think this way, or was it that as they
got old they thought their lives had become worthless, therefore, they continued to
not care? Similar themes are shown in the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, Washington
Irving, and Nathaniel Hawthornein their individual works The Pit and the Pendulum,
The Devil and Tom Walker, and Dr. Heidegger s Experiment. Unlike the
Transcendentalists who saw the purity of an individual, Dark Romantics saw people
as unrighteous and damnable and their writings reflect that people suffer, they see
nature as something mysterious, and people have guilt from sinning. In Dark
Romantic literary works the characters are often suffering. For instance, in The Pit and

For instance, in Dr. Heidegger s Experiment by Nathaniel Hawthorne, he explains
how the characters each have something they want to change in their lives because
they feel guilty. Widow Wycherly at one time was a woman who was loved in the
town, but then people learned more about her past. She lost her reputation and has
guilt for it: As for the Widow Wycherly, tradition tells us that she was once a great
beauty. But shocking stories about her past had led the people of the town to reject
her. So, she lived very much alone. (Hawthorne 252). Similarly, the characters, who
wanted to be young again, drank the youth water. As they are guilty for their past
mistakes, and they look miserable, They seemed as though they had never known
youth or pleasure. They looked like they had always been the weak, unhappy
creatures who were bent over the doctor s table (Hawthorne 254). Overall, the
characters of the story wish they were young again, so they can change the sins they
did when they were younger, and this demonstrates that Hawthorne focuses on his
characters sins and
Laos People s Democratic Republic
Laos People s Democratic Republic is a country in the Southeastern portion Asia. It
is believed that Laotians migrated to Laos from South China as early as the 8th
century. Lan Xang was the very first state established in the country during the 14th
century. The ruler at the time, King Saya Setthathirat transferred the capital known as
Luang Prabang to the newly formed Vientiane during the 16th century ( Brief
History of Laos ). The Lan Xang kingdom was in decree until the early 1700s. From
that point on, the Kingdom was split into 3 separate kingdoms under 3 different yet
hostile dynasties. The 17th Century marked the Golden Age under the rule of King

Muhammad s Influence On Islam
In the year wchih followed the Revelation, Muhammad began his public preaching.
The first converts include his wife Khadija, cousin Ali, other people closely related
to him, and eventually more people from his own clan of Hashim. At first there was
no sign of opposition against Muhammad s teaching, but as it become more
widespread in Mecca, people start seeing it as a threat to the city s stability.
Muhammads message about a single, all powerful deity negates the legitimacy of the
haram and its idols, puting the holy and neutral status of the site at risk. This
theological clash continued to put pressure on Muhammad and his followers.
However, they receive protection because of the solidity of the clan system. It had
been Abu Talib, Muhammad s uncle, who united the Hashim in support of
Muhammad and protected him for his Meccan opposition.
In 619, both Khadija and Abu Thalib, two of Muhammad s most important protecters
passed away and his opposition became even more bold and determined to pressure
Muhammad. It is important to remember that the previous early success of the spread
of Islam in Mecca could only be achieved because of Muhammad s allegience and
close relationship with these two important Meccan figures. In other words,
Muhammad s kinship paved the way for his teachings to be disemminated within the
Meccan society. As Meccans become more hostile towards Muhammad, he began to
look outside his native city for support. At this crucial point, Muhammad was
1984 Doublethink Analysis
The Role of Doublethink in The Government of 1984 War is peace. Freedom is
slavery. Ignorance is strength, . The following quote originates from the infamous
novel, 1984 by George Orwell. The significance of this popular quote was to display
an example of the action of doublethink. Doublethink is the act of having two
contradictory thoughts at the same time and believing both are true. Doublethink
plays an influential role in the novel, 1984. The novel takes place in a super state by
the name of Oceania which covers the entire continents of our America in reality. The
main character of this novel is Winston Smith, a thirty nine year old Party member
who works at the Ministry of Truth correcting errors in past publication who has a...

For the Party, the past not fixed and permanent; its reality is evident only in records,
(Becnel 11). Throughout the novel, it was often mentioned that the Party hired
workers such as the main protagonist, Winston, to alter history the way they wanted
it. If the Party has control over what was written down in history, they can easily
manipulate their citizens to believe anything that they claim is true. This ability of
control over history has also opened up the opportunity to alter the memories of the
citizens of Oceania. Being able to control the memories of the people and causing
them to believe one thing and another is an example of doublethink. The Party used
doublethink in order to increase and strengthen their power over the citizens. Power
is also a factor that revolves around the action of doublethink. Becnel mentions the
importance of doublethink and power in his critic upon the novel, Doublethink is the
foundation on which the Party s power rests, (Becnel 11). Becnel s claim basically
states that in order to maintain and strengthen their power, the Party must resort to
doublethink in order to have better control of their citizens. Although the Party has
taken actions such as altering history and having a great amount of control over the
people to express doublethink, they have also done expressed doublethink in
Pythagoras Accomplishments
Did you know that Pythagorean Theorem was actually created well before our
generation s time period? Yes, it seems that is pretty basic knowledge, but did you
know it was actually created in B.C. and instead of A.D.? The brilliant mind to thank
for such an achievement is the man who goes by the name Pythagoras. However the
Pythagorean Theorem isn t his only accomplishment, he was so advanced for his
time, that he had many achievements. But to the best way to examine these
accomplishments is to start at the beginning. In around 569 B.C on a small island of
Samos, Pythagoras was born. His mother, named Pythais, was a native to the island
Samos and his father, named Mnesarchus, was a traveling merchant. Due to his father
being a traveling merchant, Pythagoras spent his most of his childhood traveling with
his father, thus causing young Pythagoras to become more intelligent and worldly
compared to other youth at the time. Along the travels he picked up reading and
reciting poems created by Greek Poet, Homer. Though there were two... Show more

math was more critical thinking rather than problem solving. One example of
Pythagoras critical thinking comes in the form of a simple triangle which he called

points arranged in four rows: one, two, three, and four points in each row, which is
the geometrical representation of the fourth triangular number. This later became the

young ball players were drafted and sent off to war forcing Major League Baseball
teams to seek alternative means of entertainment. During this period professional
ownership got involved creating Little League Baseball, Pony League baseball,
and the College Baseball World Series. This was a large undertaking all done in an
effort to satisfy the country s need to have its National Pastime played. The greatest
display of the United States love for this game was the creation of the All American
Girls Professional Baseball League, made famous in the movie League of their Own.

Retinal Vascular Imaging Essay
Abstract
Retinal vascular imaging is useful in detecting Microvasular abnormalities. It shows
several predictors of diseases and potential for understanding other markers that
might fit into what happens when we age, develop a disease or health issue. Retinal
and cerebral microvasculature have common physiological properties. They are
highly similar metabolic active tissues, and are homologous in structure. There are at
least two viewing forms for retinal vasculature 2D and 3D . 2D being more flat while
3D shows outlines, fuller imager quality and in depth structures of the retina. Retinal
imaging has been helpful in several diagnoses of health such as hypertension,
cardiovascular diseases, obesity and the effects of aging. Outlook for retinal vascular
imaging looks good as it is being applied to new ideas and concepts.
Introduction
Microvasular veins are some of the small veins in our body, referred to as vessels
that form a network between the arterioles and venules located in the retina and
body. The micro vasculatures of the brain and retina have common physiological
properties, they both have high metabolic active tissues, similar embryological
origins and are homologous (Meier, M. H. et al, 2013). Both vascular networks share
similar vascular regulatory processes (Lassen, 1964; Hardy et al. 1997; Delaey Van de

Feminism One Of The Biggest Topics Today And Is Defined
Feminism one of the biggest topics today and is defined as the public support of the
rights of women on the basis of equality of the sexes. In fact, the main reason
feminism is such a popular topic is because of how men were treated as the dominant
gender .
Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only
cook and take care of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly
develop until in 1848 after their oppression, when the first Women s conference was
held in Seneca Falls, America. Ever since then, the amount of feminists and feminist

Although ambition is deemed as being the leading factor of preventing self
discovery, fear is along the honourable mentions. For example, in the novel it
presents the character of Marie Laure, a girl who is blind, literally, and lives a life
in fear. Now the word fear is one where most people tend to avoid it, reason being
is that fear is the very essence of something that is believed to be harmful,
destructive, and painful. It is an unknown variable whether being physical,
emotional, or spiritual in which it can frightens one s self of self imagination, or
even their own very reality. To continue and explain on how Marie lives in a life of
fear, she is firstly blind. Being unable to see the physical animate objects in front of

The Pros And Cons Of USAA Insurance Company
A company that is attempting to do well, while doing good is USAA. USAA
insurance company was recently awarded America s most ethical and reputable
bank company in Ethisphere s 2016 and 2017 World s Most Ethical Companies.
USAA recognizes the strength that comes with a variety of perspectives and beliefs,
and an environment that encourages respect and trust. Our ability to attract, develop
and retain the very best diverse talent reflective of our membership and community
is vital to our continued success. Our goal is to purposefully include diverse
perspectives to achieve superior business results and fulfill our mission (USAA
/ Welcome to USAA, 2018).
In 2015 and 2017 this company cut corners and done damage, while doing well
financially. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is the reason linked to pragmatism, ethics, strategy, or some combination? While I
believe that USAA s CSR motivation is based on ethics. I feel that they could
easily increase their customer base to move beyond only members of the military.
They have been a successful company since 1922 however they choose to remain
at their current size on focus on their core group of customers. This shows focus
and an aversion to greed and growth for the sake of profit. Adversely, Volkswagen s
motivation for CSR is strategy and marketing. The fact that the company developed
a technology to deceive the public and willingly lied to the EPA and to 11 million
customers about it, goes to show that ethics were no the forefront in their CSR.
Seems like a company that only participates in CSR because they are expected to, not
because they want to.
Identify the key stakeholders impacted by the CSR policies. A stakeholder is a party
that has an interest in a company, and can either affect or be affected by the business.
The primary stakeholders in a typical corporation are its investors, employees and
customers (Staff, 2015). Volkswagen expected guilty pleaand arrest of an executive
on conspiracy charges and another lawsuits brought by company shareholders

The Philosophical and Sociological Developments for
Bebop...
The Philosophical and Sociological Developments for Bebop During the 1940 s
When discussing the history of Jazz, an important type of music is developed that
changed the music industry. This music, bebop, helped to influence other types of
music, and it also let us appreciate jazz more As is so often the case in jazz, when a
style or way of playing becomes too commercialized, the evolution turned in the
opposite direction. A group of musicians, who had something new to say, something
definitely new, found each other reacting against the general Swing fashion. This new
music developed, at first in spurts, originally in Kansas City and then most of all in
musician s hangouts in Harlem, particularly at Minton s Playhouse, and ... Show more

This was later to become the real genius of modern jazz, as Louis Armstrong is the
genius of traditional jazz. One of these musicians, Charlie Christian, is not only a
founder of modern jazz but also one of those who created from Swing the basis for
the making of modern jazz. There is a whole group of such pioneers : together the last
generation of Swing and pathbreakers for bop. Among the trumpets, it is Roy
Eldridge: among the pianists, Clyde Hart; among the tenors, Lester Young; among the
bassists, Jimmy Blanton; among the drummers, Jo Jones and Dave Tough; among the
guitarists, Charlie Christian. Bebop was an instrumental music. No singer could
have made it. Charlie Parker forever changed the fundamental relationship between
voices and instruments as it had existed up to that point. Horn players still had to
breathe, and so they had to base their phrased on the length of the human breath,
but no longer did they need to limit what they played to the boundaries of the
voice. They played faster, way beyond what any human voice could make out with
clarity, and they played melodies that never were meant to be sung. Bop never
came as naturally to the voice as it did to Parker s alto saxophone and Dizzy Gillespie
s trumpet and then to the other instruments. The new music may
The Oil And Natural Gas
Everyday oil and natural gas is being found in new areas and being sought after by
companies who want to drill for and use those resources. More often than not these
resources are under land already owned by someone else so the companies must
come to an agreement with the landowner in order to get permission to drill for the
oil and natural gas. Oil and gas are valuable commodities for landowners and can
mean an extra income. Instead of selling the land and completely giving up their
stake in the potential fortune most owners decide to negotiate a leasewith the
company in which both parties benefit from the resources.
Just because someone owns a piece of land does not mean he or she has the right to
set up a lease for the drilling of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A landman (or woman) is a person whose job it is to secure leases on as large an
area as possible and they are either employed by oil and gas companies or work
independently. Because these men and women are professionals and are trained in
the art of making sells using all possible tactics, it is usually advised that landowners
seek an attorney or some type of professional to assist in the negotiations.
A lease in this context is a legal document or contract between a landowner who is
the lessor and a company (or individual) who is the lessee that grants the lessee
rights to exploration and development rights to potential subsurface mineral
commodities. Today there is no standard oil and gas lease form. At one point the
Producers 88 form was considered the standard form but today various oil and gas
companies utilized several different types of lease forms as their starting point for
negotiations. Generally their are two broad types of oil and gas lease forms based
on the timing of the lease bonus payments. The most commonly used type is the Pay
Up lease which no bonus payments are due after the signing of the lease, instead the
lessor gets one hundred percent of the lease bonus money combined with annual
rental payments up front. The other type is the Rental Lease that is not as commonly
used in which the lease, can lapse if the rentals are not paid in a timely manner by the
company which would ultimately result in the termination of
Immanuel Kant s Impact On The Enlightenment
In this essay, I will talk about the Enlightenment. I will discuss how Immanuel Kant s
concept of it affected the society as well as politics. I will explain the main ideas that
this age introduced and the impact they had on people. I will also talk about the
reasons why it may be difficult for many people to attain true Enlightenment. Finally,
I will examine how Kant defines Enlightenment himself. Enlightenment was an era
from the 1650s to the 1780s. It was an intellectual movement that noticeably
influenced scientific and social ways of thinking of the eighteenth century. It
introduced and emphasised analysis, reason and individualism. It also introduced
finding out about the world in ways that are not based on faith. It was the first time...

I have shown the Immanuel Kant s concept of it and explained it. I have also shown
the way in which people functioned, how they thought and how they used their
reason in the eighteenth century. I also gave reasons why it might have been
difficult for many to attain true Enlightenment and why many remained immature in
that sense. Furthermore, I referred to two different usages of reason that Kant
introduced private and public and explained them as well as gave examples.
Overall, I have shown that for people Enlightenment was a very big as well as new
concept, and that it took a lot of courage and intellect of many to acquire

How To Write An Abstract For An Essay

  • 1. How To Write An Abstract For An Essay Writing an essay on the process of crafting an abstract for an essay may seem like a straightforward task, but it involves a nuanced understanding of both the specific requirements for abstracts and the broader principles of effective academic writing. First and foremost, one needs to comprehend the purpose of an abstract – to succinctly summarize the main points and findings of the essay. To delve into the intricacies of the subject, it is crucial to explore the diverse types of abstracts, such as descriptive, informative, and critical abstracts. Each type has its unique characteristics, and understanding when to use each becomes pivotal in producing a well-crafted abstract. Moreover, discussing the key components of an abstract, such as the research question, methodology, results, and conclusion, requires a comprehensive grasp of the essay's content. The challenge lies in condensing this information into a concise yet informative format. Striking a balance between brevity and clarity is essential to ensure that the abstract effectively communicates the essence of the essay. Additionally, addressing the common pitfalls in abstract writing, such as including unnecessary details or failing to capture the significance of the research, demands a critical eye. Providing practical tips for avoiding these pitfalls further complicates the writing process. Furthermore, exploring the connection between the abstract and the overall essay requires a holistic understanding of the writing process. The abstract serves as a miniature version of the entire work, and elucidating how it aligns with the essay's structure and purpose necessitates a deep understanding of both. In conclusion, writing an essay on how to craft an abstract involves navigating through the intricate nuances of abstract writing, understanding the different types, deciphering the essential components, and addressing potential pitfalls. It requires not only a profound comprehension of the subject matter but also the ability to articulate this knowledge effectively. Crafting an essay on this topic demands a careful balance between providing detailed insights and maintaining conciseness – a challenge that requires skill and expertise in academic writing. Between the overproduction and the sloppy lo fi guitar solo, well, lets just say doubts were forming. However, my optimism has paid off, because in my opinion Black Sun was the weakest song on the album. Kintsugi is the best Death Cab album since Transatlanticism, featuring guitar melodies that hearken back to the best Death Cab album: We Have the Facts and We re Voting Yes. While, yes, I liked this album, I take major issue with the widespread claims that frontman Ben Gibbard has gotten his writing skills back. The early Death Cab albums, like Kintsugi, focused on failed relationships and pining over ideal romances; however, the writing on these (Something About Airplanes, We Have the Facts..., and The Photo Album) is significantly more indirect. Kintsugi s writing is filled with relationship issues portrayed a bit too directly for the tone of the music.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The synths that do remain from Codes and Keys are better orchestrated and compliment the music better as opposed to clashing with the classic Death Cab
  • 3. Resilience Across Lifespan Resilience across a lifespan can happen different ways from physical development to cognitive development. We also have social and emotional development. Throughout this paper resilience will be applied to all of the above mentioned concepts. Resilience across a lifespan is described through theories, measures, and even personality characteristics. Resiliencehas also been applied to the impacts of disasters and traumatic experiences in which will also be touched on throughout this paper. Resilience is described as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress (American Psychological Association, 2016). Resilience is an ordinary thing in human beings. It is often described as bouncing back, which refers to bouncing back from difficult times or situations. As a person grows older resilience grows as well. A person s past can most certainly affect how a person uses resiliency in the present. If a person is not affected negatively a lot in their past when it comes time for a person to bounce back, they will not bounce back as smoothly as a person who has had a very traumatic past and has learned how to bounce back in a smoother fashion. A person s past determines their resiliency in the present and a person s present determines their resiliency efforts in the future. Resiliency is different for each and every person. Resiliency also can grow with a person or can dissipate

Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air normally inhaled, while the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In this experiment, a round balloon is utilized to measure both the tidal volume and the lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible factors impacting the vital capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an impact on vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more room for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled, resulting in increased lungcapacity. Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position, expansion Introduction In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located in the chest cavity and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and out of the lungs can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be established. Lung capacity can be measured either using a spirometer (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round balloon. The amount of air inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult, tidal volume is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs

How Did Machiavelli Lose The Power Of Government When the Prince was written in 1513, the Medici family had just returned to rule Florence after losing rule to the Savonarola family for 18 years (notes 9/15). Machiavelli says he intends this book to be read by the Magnificent Lorenzo de Medici (DL.3) as a testimony of his homage (DL.3). Machiavelli may say he intended this book for the Medici but he wrote the entire book in Italian which was the common language for the people of Italy. In this time period, books were read and appreciated by the upper class so the books were written in Latin which makes me believe that Machiavelli wanted his opinions and views of principalities to be readily available to the masses. Machiavelli says his intention is for Medici to understand how to rule so that he does not lose his power over the people again. Machiavelli explains different ways of achieving rule over a group of people with each chapter a different way to gain power and he shows how other rules have lost their power. Each chapter is portrayed not as a benefit of how to rule rather as a warning. • 22. Voltmeter Construction ABSTRACT The objective of this project is to design LCD digital oscilloscope for practical use. The basic concept for the project involves reading the voltage signal at the input and displaying it on the screen of an alphanumeric LCD. The input analog signals are supplied to the ADC(Analog to Digital Converter), which are then sampled by it and the amplitude of the signal(voltage) is displayed on the LCD. Device Components: Microcontroller or processor: We used Atmega16 an Atmel AVR series microcontroller. The processor clock was set to 11MHz internal oscillator. Analog to Digital Converter: In this device we use Atmega16 s inbuilt analog to digital converter. It is a 10 bit ADC which uses the in built reference voltage level of ... Typically they use a cathode ray tubewhere the voltages on the x and y plats cause a dot on the screen to move. In the horizontal direction this is controlled by the time base, whereas in the vertical direction the deflection is proportional to the signal input. Essentially the signal is amplified and applied to the Y plates of the cathode ray tube. A cathode ray tube consists of a number of elements. There is an electron gun that generates an electron beam that is fired along the length of the tube. This beam passes by deflection plates that are used to deflect the beam, as a result of electrostatic attraction and repulsion, and finally the beam hits a phosphor coating on the screen creating a small dot of light. To assist in making the trace as clear as possible, intensity and focus controls are included. The focus ensures that the dot that scans the screen remains as sharp as possible and in this way it can deliver a clear trace. The intensity control is required because the intensity of the dot or trace varies according to the speed at which the scan is made. Controlling the intensity enables a clear trace to be obtained. When the scan is very slow the dot is seen to traverse the screen and it is difficult to visualize the

The Impact the Vikings had on the history and identity of northern England is of a complex nature. Ethnic identities consist of many different factors from an individual s language, religion, culture, it could also be defined by history, geographical or ancestry origin. It is possible national identities could also be undermined by regional identity. This could be from social roles, like a father, farmer or a vicar which assume other identities. For these reasons, it is clearly extremely difficult to define the identity of a society. The historical impact the Vikings left behind in northern England can be seen in place names, the use of language and accents, as well as some cultural aspects. To understand what identity ... Vikings have several labels in medieval texts which suggest several assigned identities; scholar Alcuin wrote from the court of Charlemagne to Bishop Higebald, following the first recorded Viking raid in 793 on the monastery at Lindisfarne. Outraged, he describes the Vikings as heathens [who] desecrated god s sanctuaries . They were repeatedly referred to as Gaill or foreigners in The Annals of Ulster. Historical sources show that England was subject to regular attacks from Scandinavians so it was no surprise that they were given these names like Heathens, Pagans, Northmen and Danes. The English referred to them primarily as Vikings. These multiple identities are linked to the Viking invasions and raids of England and aids in developing and understanding how the lasting history and identities where formed in the north of England. It could be said much of the history and identity was shaped from the identities orchestrated politically by the kings of Wessex to achieve unity

Then with all the time that people waived their preliminary hearing the judge would essentially tell them how their giving up each of their Miranda rights at that time. The Miranda rights is where due process came from so that was properly upheld. The 8th Amendment was also a legal protection that was upheld during the process. At the end of arraignments the judge would say You have the right to a court date within 30 days of initial appearance , and he gave each person the same amount of bail. The majority of the cases were similar with misdemeanors or disorderly conduct charges so it was fair to set bail the same. So he showed the right to reasonable and consistent bail, and sentencing appropriate to crime. I also observed some hints to the 4th Amendment during the hearings because the defense would question probable cause. All the rights of the 6th Amendment such as right to counsel, cross examination, speedy trial are evident during

Second, is the Monarchy which traces Israel Kings from the good to the bad leading to the nation s destruction. Third, is the restoration describing Israel s remnant after the seventy years of captivity. For the sake of limitation, an example from each section will be analyzed. Yet, in this last category one can note of the beginning process of restoration until the time of Jesus. In this section, there is one important verse to pay attention to. In Ezra 10:14 the idea of justice is reinstated but not in a way that is simply justice put into action, but in the intent to regather the people of God; to bring all back into a community of love. This is one step closer to restoring shalom. The verse prior to this example is key in understanding this (Ez. 10:9 14). The Philosophical and Sociological Developments for Bebop During the 1940 s When discussing the history of Jazz, an important type of music is developed that changed the music industry. This music, bebop, helped to influence other types of music, and it also let us appreciate jazz more As is so often the case in jazz, when a style or way of playing becomes too commercialized, the evolution turned in the opposite direction. A group of musicians, who had something new to say, something definitely new, found each other reacting against the general Swing fashion. This new music developed, at first in spurts, originally in Kansas City and then most of all in musician s hangouts in Harlem, particularly at Minton s Playhouse, and ... One of these musicians, Charlie Christian, is not only a founder of modern jazz but also one of those who created from Swing the basis for the making of modern jazz. There is a whole group of such pioneers : together the last generation of Swing and pathbreakers for bop. Among the trumpets, it is Roy Eldridge: among the pianists, Clyde Hart; among the tenors, Lester Young; among the bassists, Jimmy Blanton; among the drummers, Jo Jones and Dave Tough; among the guitarists, Charlie Christian. Bebop was an instrumental music. No singer could have made it. Charlie Parker forever changed the fundamental relationship between voices and instruments as it had existed up to that point. Horn players still had to breathe, and so they had to base their phrased on the length of the human breath, but no longer did they need to limit what they played to the boundaries of the voice. They played faster, way beyond what any human voice could make out with clarity, and they played melodies that never were meant to be sung. Bop never came as naturally to the voice as it did to Parker s alto saxophone and Dizzy Gillespie s trumpet and then to the other instruments. The new music may
  • 43. The Oil And Natural Gas Everyday oil and natural gas is being found in new areas and being sought after by companies who want to drill for and use those resources. More often than not these resources are under land already owned by someone else so the companies must come to an agreement with the landowner in order to get permission to drill for the oil and natural gas. Oil and gas are valuable commodities for landowners and can mean an extra income. Instead of selling the land and completely giving up their stake in the potential fortune most owners decide to negotiate a leasewith the company in which both parties benefit from the resources. Just because someone owns a piece of land does not mean he or she has the right to set up a lease for the drilling of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A landman (or woman) is a person whose job it is to secure leases on as large an area as possible and they are either employed by oil and gas companies or work independently. Because these men and women are professionals and are trained in the art of making sells using all possible tactics, it is usually advised that landowners seek an attorney or some type of professional to assist in the negotiations. A lease in this context is a legal document or contract between a landowner who is the lessor and a company (or individual) who is the lessee that grants the lessee rights to exploration and development rights to potential subsurface mineral commodities. Today there is no standard oil and gas lease form. At one point the Producers 88 form was considered the standard form but today various oil and gas companies utilized several different types of lease forms as their starting point for negotiations. Generally their are two broad types of oil and gas lease forms based on the timing of the lease bonus payments. The most commonly used type is the Pay Up lease which no bonus payments are due after the signing of the lease, instead the lessor gets one hundred percent of the lease bonus money combined with annual rental payments up front. The other type is the Rental Lease that is not as commonly used in which the lease, can lapse if the rentals are not paid in a timely manner by the company which would ultimately result in the termination of
