Zora Neale Hurston, known as one of the most symbolic African American women
during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930 s. Hurston was known as a non fiction
writer, anthropologist and folklorist. Hurston s literature has served as a big eye

partner and I initial, but leave one of each media as a control and label it with the

2.Sterilize loop or needle
3.Using the loop grab a sample of B.S and streak it onto the first plate. Second plate
and third plate you repeat the same steps, but instead using one for E.C. and the other
one for S.A.
4.For the three nutrient broth you first sterilize the loop and grab a sample of B.S
and inoculated by spinning it in a circular motion inside the tube and then repeat the
same method for the other two bacteria.
5.The next thing is to grab your Agar slant tube, sterilize the loop, take a sample of
B.S and inoculate it inside the tube and gently do a snakelike motion from bottom to
the top. Repeat the steps for the other bacteria.
6.Lastly, for the Agar deep, sterilize the needle, grab a sample of B.S and inoculated
it by simply pushing the needle straight down about three quarters and then slowly

of freedom and equality throughout the United States, Klan members set off
dynamite in the sixteenth Baptist Church. The resulting explosion and compromise
in the integrity of the building killed four girls. These girls, Addie Mae Collins,
Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Denise McNarr were the victims of this
atrocity. The events that followed furthered the bloodshed. Thousands of black
protestors flooded the streets in protest of the horrific acta that took place in the
sixteenth Baptist street church [2]. It was not until 2001 and 2002 when some of

Enacted by lawmakers bitter about the loss against the North, Jim Crow Laws
blatantly favored whites and repressed those of color as many refused to welcome
blacks into civic life, still believing them to be inferior. These laws were essentially
a legalized legislative barrier to the freedom promised by our constitution, and the
newly won war against the southern states to end slavery. This institutionalized
form of inequality spread like a wildfire in the subsequent decades, separating the
races in every way imaginable; in all walks of life. Although these laws varied from
state to state, we see a common trend of laws keeping blacks and whites separated,
particularly in social settings and social institutions. Some of these laws include but
are not limited to marriage, hospitalization, restrooms, public transportation, and
prisons; all of which isolating blacks from whites. We even find laws regarding
liquor licensing such as a law in Georgia which required all persons licensed to sell
alcohol, to serve exclusively whites or exclusively colored people; prohibiting sales
