Seat Belt Research Paper
A recent multi vehicle accident in Rutherford County is a reminder of the importance of using
seatbelts. A 27 year old woman was driving eastbound on State Route 840 West when her vehicle
ran off the road. She overcorrected and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding head on with
another vehicle. The 27 year old was ejected from the vehicleand hit by a third vehicle. Both the 27
year old woman and the driver of the second vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Neither was wearing a seat belt, which, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol, would have made a
difference in the crash.
Although it can be tempting to go without your seat belt, Tennessee law requires everyone to wear
a seat belt. Here are a few things you should know

The New Business Idea Of Cindy
Project 2 Microeconomic Analysis
Donald Cole
ECON545 Business Economics
Date: October 12, 2014 Introduction
The new business idea of Cindy is very innovative but being an intelligent businessman Cindy
should look for all the broad macroeconomic conditions in the U.S economy where he is planning
to begin her contracting business for installing solar panels. Cindy has not only to look for the
growth prospects of solar energy equipment which will make use of solar energy to harness and
convert it into other types of energy which can be used for daily chores work. Being a student of
economics, I would like to give him few ideas and some broad perspectives which Cindy should be
taken care of before investing such a huge amount at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the solar companies have generated good amount of revenues last year. Moreover,
Federal, state and local governments offer incredible solar tax credits and rebates to encourage
homeowners to switch to renewable energy to lower their energy usage and switch to solar power.
The amount of the rebate subsidy varies by program, but some are generous enough to cover up
to 30% of your solar power system cost. Therefore, it would be beneficial for Cindy to set up
such solar installation company. The federal government allows you to deduct 30% of your
solar power system costs off your federal taxes through an investment tax credit (ITC). If you do
not expect to owe taxes this year, you can roll over your credit to the following year. Such huge
incentives and benefits from the side of government will satisfy the social soul of Cindy as she
likes to work for the society.
These incentives dramatically lower the cost of a solar power system or energy efficiency project.
These tax credits and rebates often make solar power less expensive than power from the utility
company. We will start from the overview of the U.S economy, the current GDP volume and the
contribution by each sector. The inflation rate and the unemployment rate would also have great
impact on the growth and the operations of the business in U.S. With crude oil prices

The Namesake Minor Characters
People are often seen as the people they associate themselves with. Humanes begin to evolve as
they grow up and start overcoming baggage. Our loved ones can drift us apart from our roots and
that can be either positive or poor. In the novel The Namesake, Lahiri uses the minor characters
Kim, Ruth and Maxine throughout the novelto highlight Gogol s characterization and journey of
growing up and becoming less understanding and distancing himself from his own culture. This
statement relates to numerous of immigrants who distance themselves from their own culture to the
one they are living in at the moment.
Lahiri creates the minor character of Kim to help explain Gogol s adventure to a different culture
than his. There are abounding moments throughout the novel where Gogol tries to change his
identity because he thinks people will make fun of him because of his name. A major point in the
book is when he is at a college party and meets a girl named Kim. But he doesn t want to tell Kim
his name. He doesn t want to endure her reaction, to watch her lovely blue eyes grow wide (96). In
the following quote, Lahiri uses the internal conflict in Gogol, to have the reader Castellanos 2
sympathize and relate to the circumstance that people can go through when they are afraid what
one might think. Gogol believes that by changing his name, he will be accepted into the community
around him. He is mainly concerned about what girls think of him, rather than

Lipids
Fatty acids are composed of a hydrophilic carboxylic acid group attached to a fatty hydrophobic
chain of carbon atoms, referred to as the fatty tail. The fatty acids are classified as either saturated or
unsaturated depending on the structure. Saturated fatty acids contain only single bonds with
hydrogen atoms throughout the length of the carbon chain fatty tail and are therefore considered
saturated with hydrogen. The regular structure of saturated fatty acidmolecules makes it possible
for them to stack close together causing them to easily form solids. Saturated fatty acids are solid
at room temperature. Unsaturated fatty acids contain one or more double bonds to hydrogen in the
carbon chain. The double bonds create a bend in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Two Most Interesting Jobs

Marketing Paper
The two most interesting jobs I discovered through my research is Market Research Analyst and
Customer Service Representative. They require educational experience that is a level apart in
difficulty. They are in contrast in that one helps the firm and the other helps the firm s
customers. The jobs involve working together with people so that both sides are happy in the
end. Their salaries differ as a result of their educational needs for each job. They both have a
growing need for people in the future to work in said field. However, that need is not very great.
The educational requirement is not hard to get for a person who 18 to 22 years of age. The

Colombia Geography
Did you know that Colombia is named after Christopher Columbus? He saw the coasts of what is
now Venezuela, Colombia, and Panama in 1492. He saw the beautiful landscape, and the amazing
diversity of the wildlife and plants. Colombia has maintained these amazing qualities to this day.
That is what makes it Colombia.
There are many landforms in Colombia, each fitting into ecosystems that are intricately unique. The
Amazon river is a habitat for animals (black caimans, piranhas, giant river otters, and pink dolphins)
that are part of the surrounding Amazon rainforest ecosystem. The Colombian landscape is
admittedly in many ways like other South American countries, but is nevertheless astonishing.
There are the Andes mountains, the Amazon rainforest, the grassland plains, and a small area of
desert. Some interesting landforms include the Andean Highlands, the Middle Magdalena Basin,
Mt. Ritacuba Blanco, the Cumbal volcano. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Family Formation And Structure Of The Nuclear Family
Combining the multitude of factors that contribute to family formation and structure parallels to
mixing ingredients to make a soup that does not always come out with the same taste, as even with
the same contributing factors such as race, gender, and social, economic, and political pressure, one
family can greatly differ from another. The ideology of the nuclear familyshape clashed with my
family s more extended and traditional family structure, and upon arrival to the United States from
Korea, initially resulted in opaque gendered behavior and thinking along with muddled male and
female constructs. As the family s stay continued, the idea and shape of the nuclear family began to
whittle away at my grandparents and father s initial ideals, albeit at a different pace. As a result of
my grandparents directing joining the workforce and contributing, the nuclear family ideals had
little influence; on the other hand, my father, after growing up through schooling and having more
in depth experience with American culture, was more affected, and the transition into the ideology
of the nuclear family was nearly complete after having children. As my father came to be the main
breadwinner of the family, the nuclear family shape and ideology was fortified and increasingly
embraced, as my dad was pressured to provide, which promoted male dominance within the
household.
In order to comprehend and identify a family s ideals, it is important to know the structure first. My

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Ethnographic Research
Introduction
Throughout the field of anthropology, interviews are conducted day in and day out in order to
collect valuable data to contribute to rich ethnographic records on cultures that may not be as
familiar to us as our own. The concept of interviewing is one that has been around for many years,
especially since the shift from armchair anthropology to in the field work. This paper will examine
the pros and cons of face to face interviewing, as well as illuminating the progression to other
methods of qualitative data collection, specifically the use of telephone and email interviewing.
Throughout the examination of these different methods and how using interviews in an
anthropological setting is conducted, it will become clear that the ... Show more content on

a change vision, the pre school will ensure that in addition to the staff, the parents of existing and
potential students hear and understand the vision of the pre school. The vision will be reflected
in daily communication, emails, meetings and presentations. Effective visioning requires a
willingness to consider all the options and to share information that is needed to develop them
(Gill, 2011). Frequent gatherings and meetings will be held to address people s concerns and
anxieties and their queries will be addressed taking an open and honest approach. Every detail
and achievement will be tied back to the vision to see if it reflects the vision (Gill, 2011). 5.

Emily Dickinson Use Metaphors In Some Keep The Sabbath...
In Some keep the Sabbath going to Church Emily Dickinson utilizes metaphors to illustrate how
she observes her worship experience. She accomplishes this task using words or phrases to
represent elements in her environment that convey to the reader where she worships, how she
worships, and her belief in worship.
Emily Dickinson views the Sabbath, a day during the week that a religious person would attend a
worship service, by staying home. This is shown in the first lines of her poem, Some keep the
Sabbath going to Church / I keep it staying Home (Dickinson 95), which clearly identifies where
she worships. However, Dickinson introduces a metaphor to broaden the location of her worship
service. This is described in the statement, an Orchard

Synthesis And Characterization Of Aspirin
Organic Chemistry 322 Lab Report
Part I. Synthesis and Characterization of Aspirin
Part II. Extraction of Natural Products
Name: Bianca Davis
Instructor: Dr. Russell
Date Submitted: December 8, 2014 Introduction Aspirin is a substance known as acetylsalicylic
acid. It is used mainly as an over the counter drug used to relieve inflammation, pain, and fever. Its
natural form is salicylic acid. This synthesis process requires the acetylation of salicylic acid with
acetic anhydride. The purpose of this lab is to synthesize and purify aspirin. We also characterized
the aspirin via melting point, iron (III) chloride test, pH test, and thin layer chromatography. The
synthesized aspirin successfully produced a 65.38% yield.

The Principles Of Law And Ethics In Health
Law and Ethics in Health Introduction Ethics and as sometimes called morals is the concept of
what is right or wrong or what one is supposed to do or not do. Health practitioners are guided by
ethical principles to help them make informed decisions. There are various Ethical theories that can
be applied in different situations. Consequentialism theory helps to know the consequence of any
action taken by a health practitioner. Deontology deals with the duties and practices of the doctors
or nurses. Health workers that tend to adhere so much on this theory may have conflicts with other
individuals at work. Virtue theory deals with the morals of an individual. Principlism theory
requires that the health practitioners adhere to the communal, religious and person believes of the

All healthcare service providers are required to balance all these principles. Ethical decisions are
not so simple to make especially where the decision will have an effect on the practitioner. Legal
framework allows team decision making to make proper decisions. Law is a set of rules that are
derived from ethical or religious backgrounds and they are intended to control the inter relations in
a society with the aim of maintaining order. Like other institutions individuals in the healthcare
sector are protected by law to ensure none of them is harmed. The patients have their rights as
stipulated by the law and it is the responsibility if the healthcare providers to uphold their rights. On
the other hand, health practitioners are also protected by the law which guides them on the

Volatile Aromatic Organic Compounds
1. Introduction The release of volatile aromatic organic compounds into the environment is a
serious problem as they distribute between the different phases in natural systems. Sediments can
be considered as a sink for volatile aromatic organic compounds because of their hydrophobic nature
and the resulting affinity to the sediment s organic matter. Organic matter consists of soft carbon,
where portioning is the main sorption process and hard carbon, where pore filling mechanisms
dominate (Zhao et al., 2002; Chai et al., 2006). Consequently, sorption/desorption processes are the
most important factors that determine the fate of volatile aromatic organic compounds in the
environment. The extensive production and release of aromatic organic compounds has led to a
widespread contamination of soils and sediments with these pollutants throughout the world,
threatening drinking water resources, especially petroleum hydrocarbons as constituents of
gasoline such as Benzene, 1,2 dichlorobenzene, Toluene and m xylene. It was proposed that
sorption of the sorbate molecules may cause deformation of flexible sorbent solids, such as natural
organic matter and organo clays resulting in an entrapment of sorbed molecules during desorption
(Weber et al., 2002; Lu and Pignatello, 2004). Several researchers have tried to associate the
maximum sorption capacities of organic compounds with the sorbed amounts in the slow and very
slow desorbing domains (Van Heuvel et al., 2005; Van Heuvel and

Descriptive Essay About The Galapagos
It was a seven hour flight to get from New York City to Guayaquil, Ecuador. After going through
customs I was finally greeted by my colleague, whom I would be working on this research with.
Our flight to the Galapagos was not until the next day so we decided to rent a car to take a small
trip to a different island, off the coast of Ecuador.
Before setting off on our journey I took my colleague to Parque de Iguanas. This is a very common
tourist attraction because of how up close and personal you can be with iguanas that live in there.
The iguanas can be found relaxing on the stone pathway or the grass, but most are found on the
trees. Although they are extremely fascinating animals, they are not the focus of our expedition.

The area was filled with tourists, giving the island an atmosphere of a resort or vacation spot rather
than a site that influenced Darwin s theory of natural selection.
However, what made San Cristobal a critical aspect of our expedition was that it was home to
Frigatebird Hill. We took the tourist trail from the city center to Frigatebird Hill. We passed many
homes, tourist attractions, and hotels. Once at the hill we observed the difference between the
Magnificent Frigatebird and the Great Frigatebird. The male Great Frigatebird has green iridescent

When Cimorene went to the Caves of Fire and Night she ran into a princemade of stone; he helped

In Cimorene s Father s kingdom women are supposed to be proper and the men have to be

matter if you were female or male to have power. However, in most medieval kingdoms women
did not have that kind of power so living in a Dragon s Kingdom fits someone like Cimorene
much better than where she came from. This is how gender plays a role in Dealing with

Elizabeth Bennet Changes
The main characters in the story show case that, we as humans, have the ability to change our
perspectives and personalities that ultimately guide us. Jane Austen wrote the novel in a time
where our social norms were so radical compared to today. The change in society allows us to
greatly appreciate the author s work. The main characters are Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
The characters develop as the story progresses because of the events that lead to their drastic
changes. Elizabeth has 4 sisters and comes from a poor familybackground. Although her father
owns land, the sisters cannot inherit any of that as only males do during that time. So this puts
the emphasis on marrying a rich person that is well off and well ultimately take care of her and
her offspring. Due to this, Ms. Bennet is anxious to marry off all her 5 daughters. Elizabeth can
be described as a witty and intelligent person. She is her father s favorite daughter. In the
beginning of the story, she misjudges Mr. Darcy by how he acted at the Ball. Mr. Darcy is a
wealthy man that owns estate in Pemberley. He is described as a gentleman and extremely

pride from Darcy and the prejudice from Elizabeth was resolved by increased positive
interactions with each other. This can apply in real life like for example black people were not
given rights but if people actually interacted with people from the black community, they would
have positive reactions. The same can be said to the people from the LGBT community who are

The Russian Antigone
Anna Akhmatova (June 23, 1889 March 5, 1966) was a renown Russian poet and prophet. Often
credited for being the Russian Antigone, Akhmatova was unlike any of the other women of her
time. Anna Akhmatova was the leader and heat and soul of Saint Petersburg tradition of Russian
Poetry in the course of the first half of the twentieth century. (New World Encyclopedia 1). Along
with being a poet, Akhmatova also wrote prose, literary scholarships, memoirs, and
autobiographical pieces. In her 77 years of living Anna Akhmatova accomplished so much she

Akhmatova was the modern day feminist of her time ensuring that women had a voice in the face
of a man who wanted to keep them quiet. Akhmatova s writing was even banned from 1925 1940,
but Stalin was so afraid to exile a women so popular that he didn t dare attack her directly (Huck
Gutman 1).
Akhmatova s first collection of poetry was entitled, Evening. She published this work when
Russia was already in the revolutionary era. Akhmatova was one of the few who never fled
Russia during World War 1 and stayed and watched as those who left, lost their creative urges,
and were misunderstood or ignored (Antigone 740). One of Akhmatova s poems, I am not one of
those who left the land, was inspired by this very thing. I am not one of those who left the land to
the mercy of its enemies Their flattery leaves me cold, my songs are not for them to praise.
But I pity the exile s lot. Like a felon, like a man half dead. dark is your path, wanderer; wormwood
infects your foreign bread.
But here, in the murk of conflagration, where scarcely a friend is left to know, we, the survivors,
do not flinch from anything, not from a single blow.
Surely the reckoning will be made after the passing of this cloud. We are the people without tears,
straighter than you... more proud... (Antigone 704)
Akhmatova also took on the role of Cassandra, because she was a tragic queen. Cassandra relates
Anna Akhmatova to a prophetess of doom.

Analysis of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S....
Literature is considered a mirror of the society. The pool of content in literary writing stems from
the environment in which the writer is placed. A writer will use this environment to advance his/her
views of the society and at the same time drive into the audience/readers important information that
he/she wishes to pass. Hunter S. Thompsonhas used his creativity in the novel Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegaswritten in the 1960s to reflect on American society with Las Vegas as the point of
reference.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas describes the American society as hypocritical. This transcends
from the leaders to citizens. The Duke and Gonzo attend a conference on Narcotics and dangerous
drugs. The theme of the conference is slated as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the dream is a dying one which has not materialized because of the society s greed,
selfishness and corruption as depicted in Fear and Loathing in Vegas by Thomson. Drug
business, prostitution and gambling have replaced legal businesses in Las Vegas. Law forces
have been tangled up in this game as they watch this acts being committed for a few pennies from
the dealers. The picture of a crowd of Las Vegas residence in a casino at early hours of the morning
gives more dimensions to the American dream. Emerging from a casino having won seems to
epitomize what the society feels about the American dream
Consumerism has been embraced in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This is well brought out
by the two protagonists in the novel. The lifestyle of the Duke and his attorney on the journey to
Las Vegas is characterized by heavy spending on drugs, accommodation, transportation and
gambling. The writer says they had bought two bags of grass, seventy five pellets of mescaline,
five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of
multi colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a
case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. This were hefty expenses which the
writer goes ahead to acknowledge that they did not actually need bur for the fun of it.
Lastly, Fear and Loathing Las Vegas reveals racist nature of the American military and the decay

The Importance Of Computer Technology In Education
The past few decades have been marked by rapid development in computer technology from the
early days of the mainframe computers in the 1960s to the current age whereby the gap between
computer technology and everyday life has reduced immensely. There is no doubt that computers
have permeated everyday life from their use in almost all aspects of life from the social aspects
through social media, to their use in making everyday life better in every way. However, an
argument brought to the fore postulates that there has been an overreliance on computertechnology
to the point where humans are unable to function without them. While one school of thought argues
that this is true by highlighting that various functions such as medical examinations can only be
done using computer technology, another points out that there is need to develop human ability
without necessarily relying on computers.
Education as a source of creativity Sir Ken Robinson, in his video on how schools kill creativity,
highlights that the current education system doesn t promote creativity among school children
through various ways. He argues that while creativity is essentially focused on coming up with
original ideas that are often wrong, school feigns on mistakes thereby acting as a deterrent to the
development of creativity. Herrera (2016) reiterates Robinson by pointing out that children should
not be fought when they are wrong rather, they ought to be provided with an opportunity to fully

Dominican Republic Dictator Rafael Trujillo
Dominican Republic Dictator: Rafael Trujillo
Brief History
When studying the history of the Dominican Republic, one can observe the tensions between
different ethnicities, the several occupations, the many struggles due to military rule, the fights that
demanded independence, and the powerful dictators who left major impact on the country. In fact,
according to political scientist Howard J. Wiarada, the Dominican Republic is just a small
representation of Latin America.
After the brutal revolts against its motherland, Spain, the Dominican Republic finally declared its
independence in 1821. But the independence was shortly lived, because in the following year, Haiti
dominated the country, oppressing the citizens under their rule. Fortunately, the Dominican
Republic was able to declare independence for the second time in 1844, but the country was still not
in rest. After President Pedro Santana was elected, he returned the country to Spanish rule. In effect,

Dead Men s Path, By Chinua Achebe
Dead Men s Path is a short story written in 1972 by African Author Chinua Achebe. It is about
Michael Obi, a youthful and vivacious man amped up for everything present day who is simply
doled out a position to run a conventional school. Not long into the activity, he finds that alongside
his confused energy, disregarding the conventions of his kin can have incredible results.
Obi is a splendid and energetic young fellow who is eager to discover that he will be the new
dean of a school that has been in urgent need of assistance for quite a while. Obi was viewed as an
essential educator and he and his significant other are both ground breaking and anxious to impart
the cutting edge life to everybody. Chinua Achebedemonstrates the Obi s cutting edge
excitement by stating: We should give a valiant effort, she Obi s significant other) answered. We
might have such excellent patio nurseries and everything will be simply current and delightful...
He likewise demonstrates Obi s perspectives of the traditionalist individuals by assaulting their
character alluding to them as, these old and superannuated individuals in the educating field. Of
his two objectives for the school, one was to make the grounds a position of magnificence. An up
and coming review was the ideal inspiration to start what he thought to be incredible upgrades. In
time the greenery enclosures bloomed with excellent red and yellow blossoms. As Obi is

The Independence Of Internal Audit
Independence is a very important element in auditing. Because of the Enron Corporation and other
scandals, independence of auditors becomes a vital issue in the audit industry. It is difficult to
achieve independent for auditors as there is the fact that the client pays the audit fee. In this essay,
we will focus on the independence of internal audit.
Internal audit plays an important role in a company. According to the IIA (1999), Internal auditingis
an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an
organization s operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a
systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, ...

The auditing profession promotes the principle of independence to define, defend, and extend the
profession (Sikka and Willmott, 1995). Independence is the most priceless asset in the auditing
profession and the basic principle that supports the reputation of the auditing profession in the
public eye. Auditors protect the public s confidence in such services by conducting an auditing
work independently. In fact, the capability of the profession depends on how it can ensure the
principle of independence.
In the ideal circumstances, the person performing an audit should have no relationship to the party
being audited. The lack of a relationship prevents bias entering into the audit findings. In corporate
settings, a company hires an internal auditor or establishes a contract to purchase internal or
external audit services, an agency relationship is formed. Governmental rules, professional ethics
policies and industry standards are put into place to further promote auditor objectivity in these
situations.
Internal auditors are directly hired or contract employees of the company being audited. Their
overall objectivity might be doubtful as they need to satisfy management levels to get paid. Rules to
minimize bias focus on eliminating conflicts of interest. The audit result will be questionable when
there is conflict of interest between auditors and their employers. Effective internal auditors cannot
audit their own work or processes, functions

Wuthering Heights Heathcliff Essay
Wuthering Heights Heathcliff
Wuthering Heights centres on the story of Heathcliff. The first paragraph provides a vivid
physical picture of him, as Lockwood describes how his black eyes withdraw suspiciously under
his brows at Lockwood s approach. Nelly s story begins with his introduction into the Earnshaw
family. His vengeful desire to do evil and his love for Catherine drive the entire plot.
Heathcliff, however, defies being understood and it is difficult for the reader to resist seeing what
they want to see in him. By the name

Catherine back to health and in the mean time she came to like Edgar.
Later on they arranged for Catherine and Edgar to marry which completely destroyed him. This

On the return of Heathcliff as a gentleman Heathcliff thought he was prepared to avenge Hindley

Taking a Look Inside Hallucinogens Essay
Hallucinogens: a general group of pharmacological agents that can be divided into three broad
categories: psychedelics, dissociatives, and deliriants. Hallucinogenic drugs have played a role in
civilization for thousands of year. It began with naturally occurring hallucinogens, such as the
peyote cactus plant and wild mushrooms. Now there are man made drugs that have the same or
more intense affects. These include lysergic acid diethylamide(LSD), MDMA (ecstasy), and
dextromethorphan (DMX, often found in cough syrup). Within this essay, I will cover the history,

Long term affects for hallucinogens can vary. With LSD, it is believed that trips can trigger the
onset of schizophrenia or other psychological disorders. Users can also experience flashbacks,
happening as long as a year later than the original trip. The flashbacks sometimes persist,
affecting the users social and occupational life. This is known as hallucinogen induced persisting
perceptual disorder. LSD is not considered an addictive drug, since most users voluntarily stop
use over time, and it does not produce compulsive, drug seeking behavior. But, LSD does produce
tolerance. After using the drug only a few times, users must take increasingly higher doses to reach
the same high. This is very dangerous, given the drugs unpredictability. Let s talk specifics: LSD.
Lysergic acid diethylamide was first synthesized by Albert Hofman in Switzerland, 1938. He didn

years later. In 1943, Hofman accidently ingested the substance and discovered its potency. Rewind

produced by the ergot fungus that infects grain. These substances occur naturally, making studying
them less expensive. Ergot extracts had been used for hundreds of years by midwifes to stop

The Theme Of Unconditional Love In The Metamorphosis, By...
Is there such thing as unconditional love where love will always be apparent despite how
difficult the situation gets? In the novella, The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, the protagonist
unexpectedly and suddenly transforms into an insect. Through this transformation, Gregor
Samsa, the protagonist, experiences a major change and finds himself struggling to make sense
of the situation he is in while also trying to fit in with the rest of his family. Discovering Gregor s
new form, each of his family members immediately becomes disgusted. As the story progresses,
the idea of family loyalty is tested as Gregor s family begins to gradually build upon their hatred
towards Gregor and accuse him of causing them hardships. With the family failing to recognize
Gregor s past efforts, the idea of how lovenever lasts is hinted at. Through the use of symbolism,
irony, and metaphors, Kafka demonstrates how unconditional love does not exist, even in family
relationships.
Kafka uses symbolism on many occasions throughout the novella to convey Gregor s sentiments
and reflect on his current situation. The bug, perhaps the most important symbol in the whole
novella, symbolizes Gregor Samsa and his life. That boy has nothing on his mind but the
business... he s been back in the city for eight days now, but every night he s been home, (10).
This quote directly shows how Gregor has been occupied with work ever since growing up and
has never been able to do anything unrelated to work. Similar to bees or ants, Gregor has led the
same exact life, which mainly consisted of working in order to provide for his family. In addition to
the bug, the furniture in Gregor s room is symbolic in the way that it signifies his humanity. Had he
really wanted to have his warm room, comfortable fitted with furniture...he would be able to crawl
around unhampered in all directions but at the cost of simultaneously, rapidly, and totally forgetting
his human past, (33). By removing his furniture, Gregor s mother and sister are unknowingly and
slowly taking away his humanity, which is not what he wants. Furthermore, this confirms the
undesirable fact that Gregor is gradually losing his humanity and that his family has become
inconsiderate, especially of

The Socially extended characteristic can be seen with most of the main characters working in the
factory or pub. Although characters are present that wouldn t be strictly defined as working class
such as Mike Baldwin who owns the factory or Natalie Barnes who owns the pub, in Coronation

Many commentators compare British Soaps with American soaps when discussing Realism.
Realism is one of those words, like morality or wealth, whose definition is subjective. On the soaps
reality is an artificial thing that is always being manipulated for the plot s benefit... British soaps
work in a naturalistic context which the American soaps do not attempt.....the British go for what I
might call a flattened reality, a middle brow nuts and bolts, everyday sort of reality.

My nursing leadership philosophy is based on transformational leadership to which I ascribe.
Transformational nurse leaders have a vested interest in the success of those they lead and their
organization s vision. They are visionaries in the pursuit of cutting edge ways of completing the
tasks and goals of the team and organization. They are able to inspire, encourage, open to
mentorship, see the potential in those they lead while challenging them, and knowing their
strengths and weaknesses. I am cognizant of my own limitations, strengths and weaknesses,
acknowledge my mistakes and open to change. There is an innate desire to continue growing in my

The Development Of Attachment Bonds
The development of attachment bonds to other biological figures plays an important role in
emotional development. Throughout life, an individual will form several relationships, some of
which will be sincere and intimate while others will be superficial. However, collectively these
relationships provide the foundation of our communities, families, and friendships and become
essential to our survival as a species. A secure attachment bond can be classified as the interactive
emotional relationship between a caregiver and infantinvolving the emotional responses of the
caregiver to the infant s cues (Bowlby, 1969). These emotional responses can be expressed in a
variety of forms including gestures, sounds, or even movements. Thus, this interactive emotional
relationship between the caregiver and infant brings the two closer together creating an
environment that allows the infant to feel safe and secure, further developing their ability to
communicate and interact with others (Bowlby, 1969). So, in talking about attachment bonds, how
are attachments developed in the first place? Starting from birth, infants are essentially unattached
emotionally to any significant figure and show no social discriminatory responses to anyone
specific. As the baby grows and develops, they will enter the second phase in which they can
distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar faces, voices, and smells. At this point, they are not
completely attached to any one individual, despite their

explains that Kettering had an idea to solve the engine knock by modifying the gasoline. Kettering
thought that if he put red dye in the gasoline would help to solve the issue of the engine. The red
dye was not available at his workshop at that time, so he used iodine instead. The iodine worked
and solved the problem of the engine rather than using the red dye. Failure took place for

Where s the most useful spot to put in laminate floors, among the questions we get asked at

this true? Friscia claims she requires a client driven approach to each occupation and is for 18 years

Football Concussions
Concussions in football have become more and more common even though the equipment has
apparently gotten safer. In retrospect it seems the equipment has made concussions more
prominent. Does this mean the sport of football altogether is unsafe or that the players are simply
just not playing the game correctly? Is this the person running the ball fault or the defensive players
fault or both? Over the years that football has progressed with safety, the physical demand of the
sport has also increased. Players went from being roughly only 5 11 on average to 6 2. Their
weight as well has increased. Along with these size increases their strength and speed has increased
as well. With all these changes and the demand becoming greater the equipment had to change as
well. In particular helmets had to change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This falls mainly on the defensive player, the player that is delivering the hit. When playing
football everything happens in a flash. You have only a few seconds to react to everything
going on. The defensive of player goal is to prevent the other team from scoring at all means
possible. If they can t break up a pass before a receiver grabs the ball the only other option is
delivering a blow to the receiver to stop him from gaining more yards. In the result of this he
may launch himself at the receiver and make contact in the upper head area. In football this
would be considered a defenseless receiver depending on the case but it is still hard when
playing at full speed to determine this. This also takes away from the physical aspect of the
game having to think where and how hard you can hit someone when running 16 20 miles per
hour and weigh 200 or more pounds. Some players jump off the ground with over a thousand
pounds of force meaning if they jump off the ground into another player it will cause some serious
pain. This is just player playing and it s kind of

Essay on British Airways Labor Dispute
1. Introduction
Since the 1980s the situation in the civil aviation industry has changed dramatically, and although
the government still retains some form of in direct control over the aviation sector and the former
national airlines in specific, issues related to economization and efficiency of the business
enterprise take primacy in dictating strategic and operational decisions of the airline operators. This
shift in the approach to the regulation of the aviation sector around the globe has also greatly
influenced issues related to workforce organization in this industry, especially in the Western world.
In this report, the shift in the approach to employee relations will be discussed based on the case of

The opening of new markets within the EU exposed many national carriers to strong competition.
This trend has been furthered by the continuous liberalization of the global aviation industry and
specifically the recent OpenSkies agreement between EU and the US which allows the national
carriers to arrange the Atlantic flights from the airports that are not airlines ports of origin. (BATA,
2010).
Latest developments on the British political scene create strong pressure on the costs of operations
for all the British carriers. The recently proposed raised taxation will put a huge disadvantage on
the British civil aviation industry. The new Government (2010) also introduced policy of blocking
airport expansion in the South East of England (McGhie, 2010).
2.2 Economic factors
From the economic perspective there have been few main points of pressure on the strategy of
British Airways. The 2008 global recession, the worst economic downturn since 1930s, continuous
high unemployment rates, along with the fluctuation of the British Pound continue to negatively
influence all businesses. Amidst the crisis, trade unions demanded greater government intervention
to support employment levels. Yet, in order to preserve employment levels, collective agreements
between UK social partners at organizational level set new standards of reduced working time
(Eiroonline, 2010).

A Lecture Series For Students
Randy had ten tumors on his liver, and he only had a short time to live. Carnegie Mellon, the
university where he worked, offered a lecture series for students wherein educators shared advice
based on lessons learned from their lives. Randy had his chance to share before he died.
When he was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Randy was very optimistic. He had high hopes
that he could beat the disease with radical treatment. Unfortunately, the most extensive surgeries
and treatments weren t enough.
When Randy was asked to do the lecture, he looked forward to the chance to share what he had
learned in life. His wife, Jai, was not as enthusiastic. She knew that he would pour a lot of time and
energy into the lecture, and she wanted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Randy also went on to show how he was privileged enough to help others achieve their dreams,
also. He highlighted lessons he learned along the way and offered advice to students on how to
live life to the fullest. He also highlighted people who helped him achieve his dreams.
He spoke about how much his parents meant to him and how wonderful they were. They
encouraged him to research and to dream. They also taught him about generosity and reaching out
to others.
Randy talked about responsibility and working with others. This was a big deal to him. He had a
very strong sense of positive work ethic, demonstrating how success came from a bit of luck but
mostly from dedication and hard work. He emphasized how important it was to get along with
others and find ways over and around walls and blocks that stood in the path to achieving dreams.
He talked about meeting his wife later in life. They had a very close relationship, but the closeness
resulted from continuously working on the marriage. He talked about how they planned for her
future without him. Randy also talked about how people were helping him deal with his situation
and how much he appreciated it.
At the end of the lecture, Randy pointed out that the lecture was for his children. His greatest
desire for them was for them to know he loved them. He also wanted them to grow up to follow
their own dreams, facing life as they saw fit.

How Is Calypso In The Odyssey
Homer characterizes Calypso as a beautiful goddess who loves and deeply cares about Odysseus
through her actions and her dialogue with the man of twists and turns, Odysseus. In the novel, The
Odyssey, Odysseus is stranded on an island with an exquisite nymph named Calypso. There,
Calypso falls in love with Odysseus, but sadly for her, the feeling is not mutual.
One way that Homer displays Calypso s immense love for Odysseus is by having Calypso ask
Odysseus to stay with her forever and accept immortality. Evidence for this claim occurs in book
five where the angry Calypso shouts to the Gods, and I welcomed him warmly, cherished him,
even vowed to make the man immortal, ageless, all his days... (Homer pg.156). The dialogue is
hollering that

Why Henry Ought To Rule
While reading Shakespeare s Richard II, one may wonder who ought to rule England: Richard II
or Henry Bolingbroke. The person who ought to rule England is Henry Bolingbroke. This essay
will explain the role of a king, objections to Henry s rule, and why Henry ought to rule. To decide
who ought to rule England one must understand the role of a king. The role of a king according
to St. Thomas Aquinas is to aim for the people s happiness and well being. In Shakespeare s
Richard II, John of Gaunt says this: God s is the quarrel; for God s substitute, His deputy
anointed in His sight, Hath caused his death: the which if wrongfully, Let heaven revenge; for I
may never lift an angry arm against His minister. (Shakespeare I.1, Many of the characters in
Richard II seem to be under the impression that the king is in fact appointed by God. John of
Gaunt s quote above demonstrates this popular belief. Some objections to Henry Bolingbroke as
king may be that he took over the throne, did not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henry as a person is more mature, practical, and readier to rule than his cousin, Richard II. To
remove Richard from office, Henry begins a rebellion against Richard to regain his inheritance
from his father. He gathers the nobility and people s good opinions on his side, something
Richard never had. With the support of the peoples Henry did not take over the throne. If the
people had actually approved of the ruler and Henry nevertheless took the throne that would be
taking over the throne, because he did not do that Henry did not unjustly take over the throne.
The second objection that Henry is a tyrant because he did not succeed the royal family. It is true
that Henry did not directly succeed from Richard being that he was not his heir, but Henry was
Richard s cousin and thus they were related. The third objection is that Henry was a tyrant. To be
a tyrant one must be a brutal and wicked ruler. Henry was not a brutal or wicked

The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act is Good for...
Like Benjamin Franklin once said, Words may show a man s wit, but actions his meaning , this is
what America is expecting from president Obama. Most people believe that the Patient Protection
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) violates the United States Constitution, and it should be eradicated.
This law was implemented to help people acquire affordable health insurance; therefore, it is
important to the people whom have preexisting conditions, and the American government is
confronting medical legal and ethical issues like elective abortion. President Obama s intention to
provide affordable health insurancefor all U.S. citizens is a noble act. However, there are mixed

This act gives the American people rights and benefits. For example: it will provide health
coverage to adults and children with preexisting conditions, it will end lifetime and annual limits
on health care policies, it will allow adults under the age of twenty six to be carried by their parent
s health insurance, and it will provide preventive service access without cost.
The intentions of the PPACA are to provide coverage to uninsured people, to lower health care
cost, to have a better system in order to stop fraud, and to stop health insurance companies to
deny coverage due to pre existing medical conditions. Richard Sorian, Assistant Secretary for
Public Affairs says, Since of the launch of the Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement
Action Team (HEAT) task force in 2009, over 670 defendants have been charged for attempting
to defraud Medicare of more than $1.3 billion taxpayer dollars. And we are continuing to use our
resources to stop each instance of health care fraud before payments are sent out the door (June
2011, Para. 1, 2) . In order for this process to be successful we need to do our part to stop criminals.
For example: we need to protect our Medicare and Social Security number, do not divulge
Medicare number for medical equipment or services not needed, and do not let other borrow
Medicare ID card. The most common type of fraud is medical equipment especially in

Animal Rights Against Animals
magine eating a delicious piece of bacon with the fat juice dripping off while biting into the bacon,
it crunches. Now imagine the pig that the bacon came from. An innocent creature now has been
shocked with electric prods, had its throat cut, and has bled out to death. Pigs are not the only
creatures to suffer such a despicable death. Animals like sheep, cows, chickens, and goats are
slaughtered for their meat. The animalsare all butchered in a place called a slaughterhouse.
Slaughterhouses are horrible places where humans believe they have the right to treat animals any
way they want as long as they get the meat they need. People who eat meat need to understand what
happens to an animal before it winds up on a plate.Animals can not defend themselves against
humans. Therefore, someone else must defend the animals. Slaughterhouses must be stopped.
Slaughterhouses are the cheapest ways for humans to get meat. Rather than paying large sums of
money to put the animals down humanely, they are just murdered. Animals are separated in
slaughterhouses from their families after being with them for weeks. Imagine one never getting to
know his mother, then being ripped away from their child, while trying to manage to
survive.Animals should have rights just like humans do. Animals hearts beat just like any human

Sequence Pattern
In sequence pattern I got a score of 27 which means I use that pattern first. In precision pattern I
got a score of 29 which means I also use that pattern first. My score for the technical reasoning
pattern was 8 which means I usually avoid it. In confluence pattern I got a score of 22 which
means I use it as needed. With all my scores combined it makes me a dynamic learner. An
example of when I used the Sequence Pattern was when I was in high school and I was in a
CNA class doing job shadowing for the first time. I asked what exactly I was expected to do;
what my job duties were as a shadowing student . I was nervous, of course, so I asked my
teacher, whom was a long time nurse, what I was supposed to be doing exactly. She explained to
me and the other students in detail that we were to help the elderly in and out of bed, to and
from the restroom, to get them dressed and to get them to and from the cafeteria for lunch. That
sounded simple enough so we all got started helping the residents and some of the CNA s who
worked there had a completely different way of doing things, not the exact way as shown by our
teacher. I don t like when people do things differently then how I have been shown and then expect
me to do it that way as well. I had to just adjust to it and do it... Show more content on

  • 2. Seat Belt Research Paper A recent multi vehicle accident in Rutherford County is a reminder of the importance of using seatbelts. A 27 year old woman was driving eastbound on State Route 840 West when her vehicle ran off the road. She overcorrected and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding head on with another vehicle. The 27 year old was ejected from the vehicleand hit by a third vehicle. Both the 27 year old woman and the driver of the second vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash. Neither was wearing a seat belt, which, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol, would have made a difference in the crash. The New Business Idea Of Cindy Project 2 Microeconomic Analysis Donald Cole ECON545 Business Economics Date: October 12, 2014 Introduction The new business idea of Cindy is very innovative but being an intelligent businessman Cindy should look for all the broad macroeconomic conditions in the U.S economy where he is planning to begin her contracting business for installing solar panels. Cindy has not only to look for the growth prospects of solar energy equipment which will make use of solar energy to harness and convert it into other types of energy which can be used for daily chores work. Being a student of economics, I would like to give him few ideas and some broad perspectives which Cindy should be taken care of before investing such a huge amount at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the solar companies have generated good amount of revenues last year. Moreover, Federal, state and local governments offer incredible solar tax credits and rebates to encourage homeowners to switch to renewable energy to lower their energy usage and switch to solar power. The amount of the rebate subsidy varies by program, but some are generous enough to cover up to 30% of your solar power system cost. Therefore, it would be beneficial for Cindy to set up such solar installation company. The federal government allows you to deduct 30% of your solar power system costs off your federal taxes through an investment tax credit (ITC). If you do not expect to owe taxes this year, you can roll over your credit to the following year. Such huge incentives and benefits from the side of government will satisfy the social soul of Cindy as she likes to work for the society. These incentives dramatically lower the cost of a solar power system or energy efficiency project. These tax credits and rebates often make solar power less expensive than power from the utility company. We will start from the overview of the U.S economy, the current GDP volume and the contribution by each sector. The inflation rate and the unemployment rate would also have great impact on the growth and the operations of the business in U.S. With crude oil prices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Namesake Minor Characters People are often seen as the people they associate themselves with. Humanes begin to evolve as they grow up and start overcoming baggage. Our loved ones can drift us apart from our roots and that can be either positive or poor. In the novel The Namesake, Lahiri uses the minor characters Kim, Ruth and Maxine throughout the novelto highlight Gogol s characterization and journey of growing up and becoming less understanding and distancing himself from his own culture. This statement relates to numerous of immigrants who distance themselves from their own culture to the one they are living in at the moment. Lahiri creates the minor character of Kim to help explain Gogol s adventure to a different culture than his. There are abounding moments throughout the novel where Gogol tries to change his identity because he thinks people will make fun of him because of his name. A major point in the book is when he is at a college party and meets a girl named Kim. But he doesn t want to tell Kim his name. He doesn t want to endure her reaction, to watch her lovely blue eyes grow wide (96). In the following quote, Lahiri uses the internal conflict in Gogol, to have the reader Castellanos 2 sympathize and relate to the circumstance that people can go through when they are afraid what one might think. Gogol believes that by changing his name, he will be accepted into the community around him. He is mainly concerned about what girls think of him, rather than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fatty acids are classified as either saturated or unsaturated depending on the structure. Saturated fatty acids contain only single bonds with hydrogen atoms throughout the length of the carbon chain fatty tail and are therefore considered saturated with hydrogen. The regular structure of saturated fatty acidmolecules makes it possible for them to stack close together causing them to easily form solids. Saturated fatty acids are solid at room temperature. The ideology of the nuclear familyshape clashed with my family s more extended and traditional family structure, and upon arrival to the United States from Korea, initially resulted in opaque gendered behavior and thinking along with muddled male and female constructs. As the family s stay continued, the idea and shape of the nuclear family began to whittle away at my grandparents and father s initial ideals, albeit at a different pace. As a result of my grandparents directing joining the workforce and contributing, the nuclear family ideals had little influence; on the other hand, my father, after growing up through schooling and having more in depth experience with American culture, was more affected, and the transition into the ideology of the nuclear family was nearly complete after having children. As my father came to be the main breadwinner of the family, the nuclear family shape and ideology was fortified and increasingly embraced, as my dad was pressured to provide, which promoted male dominance within the household. She accomplishes this task using words or phrases to represent elements in her environment that convey to the reader where she worships, how she worships, and her belief in worship. Emily Dickinson views the Sabbath, a day during the week that a religious person would attend a worship service, by staying home. This is shown in the first lines of her poem, Some keep the Sabbath going to Church / I keep it staying Home (Dickinson 95), which clearly identifies where she worships. Health practitioners are guided by ethical principles to help them make informed decisions. There are various Ethical theories that can be applied in different situations. Consequentialism theory helps to know the consequence of any action taken by a health practitioner. Deontology deals with the duties and practices of the doctors or nurses. Health workers that tend to adhere so much on this theory may have conflicts with other individuals at work. Virtue theory deals with the morals of an individual. • 15. Volatile Aromatic Organic Compounds 1. Introduction The release of volatile aromatic organic compounds into the environment is a serious problem as they distribute between the different phases in natural systems. Sediments can be considered as a sink for volatile aromatic organic compounds because of their hydrophobic nature and the resulting affinity to the sediment s organic matter. Organic matter consists of soft carbon, where portioning is the main sorption process and hard carbon, where pore filling mechanisms dominate (Zhao et al., 2002; Chai et al., 2006). Consequently, sorption/desorption processes are the most important factors that determine the fate of volatile aromatic organic compounds in the environment. The extensive production and release of aromatic organic compounds has led to a widespread contamination of soils and sediments with these pollutants throughout the world, threatening drinking water resources, especially petroleum hydrocarbons as constituents of gasoline such as Benzene, 1,2 dichlorobenzene, Toluene and m xylene. It was proposed that sorption of the sorbate molecules may cause deformation of flexible sorbent solids, such as natural organic matter and organo clays resulting in an entrapment of sorbed molecules during desorption (Weber et al., 2002; Lu and Pignatello, 2004). Several researchers have tried to associate the maximum sorption capacities of organic compounds with the sorbed amounts in the slow and very slow desorbing domains (Van Heuvel et al., 2005; Van Heuvel and ... After going through customs I was finally greeted by my colleague, whom I would be working on this research with. Our flight to the Galapagos was not until the next day so we decided to rent a car to take a small trip to a different island, off the coast of Ecuador. Before setting off on our journey I took my colleague to Parque de Iguanas. This is a very common tourist attraction because of how up close and personal you can be with iguanas that live in there. The Importance Of Computer Technology In Education The past few decades have been marked by rapid development in computer technology from the early days of the mainframe computers in the 1960s to the current age whereby the gap between computer technology and everyday life has reduced immensely. There is no doubt that computers have permeated everyday life from their use in almost all aspects of life from the social aspects through social media, to their use in making everyday life better in every way. However, an argument brought to the fore postulates that there has been an overreliance on computertechnology to the point where humans are unable to function without them. While one school of thought argues that this is true by highlighting that various functions such as medical examinations can only be done using computer technology, another points out that there is need to develop human ability without necessarily relying on computers. Education as a source of creativity Sir Ken Robinson, in his video on how schools kill creativity, highlights that the current education system doesn t promote creativity among school children through various ways. He argues that while creativity is essentially focused on coming up with original ideas that are often wrong, school feigns on mistakes thereby acting as a deterrent to the development of creativity. The increase in urbanization creates conflicts and competition between richer and poorer communities as an increasing amount of jobs need higher qualifications. The structure of the Australian economy has shifted from manufacturing towards services. • 35. The Theme Of Unconditional Love In The Metamorphosis, By... Is there such thing as unconditional love where love will always be apparent despite how difficult the situation gets? In the novella, The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, the protagonist unexpectedly and suddenly transforms into an insect. Through this transformation, Gregor Samsa, the protagonist, experiences a major change and finds himself struggling to make sense of the situation he is in while also trying to fit in with the rest of his family. Discovering Gregor s new form, each of his family members immediately becomes disgusted. As the story progresses, the idea of family loyalty is tested as Gregor s family begins to gradually build upon their hatred towards Gregor and accuse him of causing them hardships. With the family failing to recognize Gregor s past efforts, the idea of how lovenever lasts is hinted at. Through the use of symbolism, irony, and metaphors, Kafka demonstrates how unconditional love does not exist, even in family relationships. Kafka uses symbolism on many occasions throughout the novella to convey Gregor s sentiments and reflect on his current situation. The bug, perhaps the most important symbol in the whole novella, symbolizes Gregor Samsa and his life. That boy has nothing on his mind but the business... he s been back in the city for eight days now, but every night he s been home, (10). This quote directly shows how Gregor has been occupied with work ever since growing up and has never been able to do anything unrelated to work. Similar to bees or ants, Gregor has led the same exact life, which mainly consisted of working in order to provide for his family. In addition to the bug, the furniture in Gregor s room is symbolic in the way that it signifies his humanity. Had he really wanted to have his warm room, comfortable fitted with furniture...he would be able to crawl around unhampered in all directions but at the cost of simultaneously, rapidly, and totally forgetting his human past, (33). By removing his furniture, Gregor s mother and sister are unknowingly and slowly taking away his humanity, which is not what he wants. Furthermore, this confirms the undesirable fact that Gregor is gradually losing his humanity and that his family has become inconsiderate, especially of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. The Development Of Attachment Bonds The development of attachment bonds to other biological figures plays an important role in emotional development. Throughout life, an individual will form several relationships, some of which will be sincere and intimate while others will be superficial. However, collectively these relationships provide the foundation of our communities, families, and friendships and become essential to our survival as a species. A secure attachment bond can be classified as the interactive emotional relationship between a caregiver and infantinvolving the emotional responses of the caregiver to the infant s cues (Bowlby, 1969). These emotional responses can be expressed in a variety of forms including gestures, sounds, or even movements. Thus, this interactive emotional relationship between the caregiver and infant brings the two closer together creating an environment that allows the infant to feel safe and secure, further developing their ability to communicate and interact with others (Bowlby, 1969). So, in talking about attachment bonds, how are attachments developed in the first place? Starting from birth, infants are essentially unattached emotionally to any significant figure and show no social discriminatory responses to anyone specific. As the baby grows and develops, they will enter the second phase in which they can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar faces, voices, and smells.
