This document provides instructions for an upcoming presentation assignment in an English class. Students must give a 5-minute presentation explaining an issue, where it is stalled in the debate process, and what would need to happen to move the issue forward. The presentation should have slide visuals rather than text-heavy slides, using images, minimal text, and one idea per slide. The document gives tips on designing slides visually and speaking to the audience effectively during the presentation.

• Memorize your presentation (or at
least talking points).
• Talk TO the audience. (Don’t stare up
at the slides.)
• Breathe. Maintain presence. Pause
rather than “um.”
