Listening activities
Listening is fundamental to Speaking
What kind of Listening
        should students do?
“Authentic” material? (announce-
ments, conversations telephone
exchange, news broadcast,
interviews, radio /TV programs, stories read aloud)
Take into consideration : tasks depend on
  students level.
Ex: beginners : authentic pre-recorded
  announcements, phone messages, etc
advanced : scripted material , lectures, etc
Reasons to use Authentic Material:
Naturalness Real – life listening experience
RULE instead of simplifying the language of the
              text, simplify the task.
Ex: say what words were mentioned in listening part.

Ex: Students have to be encouraged to listen for general
comprehension rather than pick out details.
Thank you!

To be continued!....
