ecoupled control of induction motor drives is possible using Direct Torque Control (DTC) method which
is very simple control strategy compared to field oriented control. In this method direct torque control is achieved by
selecting suitable inverter switching voltage vector from a lookup table. But drawback of this method is that it
produces toque ripples. Also the switching frequency of inverter switches is not constant. Many methods have been
proposed to address these issues of DTC. This paper reviews various methodologies which are suggested to improve

Abstract
This paper presents the hardware implementation of V/f control of induction motor using sine wave PWM method. Because of its
simplicity, the V/F control also called as the scalar control, is the most widely used speed control method in the industrial
applications. In this method the ratio between stator voltage to frequency is maintained constant so that the stator flux is
maintained constant. As the stator flux is maintained constant, the torque developed by the motor depends only on the slip speed
and is independent of the supply frequency. Thus we can control the speed and torque of induction motor by simply controlling the
slip speed of induction motor. The complete control is achieved with the help of TMS320F28027 Development Board. One of the
basic requirements of this scheme is the PWM inverter. The gating signals are generated using sine wave PWM technique.
Implementation issues such as PWM signal generation, ramp control, v/f control, inverter design are discussed. The results are
discussed based on the various waveforms.

Transient stability analysis on a multi machine system in psateSAT Journals
Abstract
Modern power system are subject to large disturbances such as three phase short circuit faults. When a fault occurs on a system
the generators rotor angle becomes unstable and thus it losses synchronism with the system and it becomes unstable. Thus
transient stability analysis can be performed on a system in order to understand the generators performance when subjected to a
short circuit fault. When the system is subjected to a fault the generator experiences transient oscillations in rotor speed and
angle which can be effectively suppressed with the incorporation of Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Power System

Self-Excited induction generators (SEIG) display a low voltage and frequency regulation due to variable applied load and input rotation speed. Current work presents a simulation and performance analysis of a three-phase wind-driven, SEIG connect to a three-phase load. In addition, an investigation of the dynamic operation of the induction generator from starting steady state until no-load operation. It is assumed that the input mechanical power is constant where the rotor of the SEIG rotates at a constant speed. The value of the excitation capacitance which is necessary to the operation of the induction generator also computed to ensure a smooth and self-excitation starting. The output voltage of the generator is adjusted by varying the reactive power injected by STATCOM. A 3-phase IGBT voltage source inverter with a fuel cell input supply is connected as STATCOM which is used to compensate for the reduction in the supply voltage and its frequency due to variation occurred in the applied loads. This work includes introducing a neuro-fuzzyy logic controller to enhance the performance of the SEIG by regulation the generated voltage and frequency. The dynamic model of SEIG with STATCOM and loads are implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
This document provides an overview of vector control of AC induction motors compared to scalar control. Vector control decouples the torque and flux produced by the motor, allowing for more precise independent control. It does this by controlling the direct current (Id) that produces flux and quadrature current (Iq) that produces torque. There are two approaches to vector control - direct field oriented control that directly measures the rotor angle and indirect field oriented control that indirectly measures it using slip speed. Key benefits of vector control are fast transient response since torque can be controlled without affecting flux, and ability to control speed in all four quadrants.

Vector control is a more advanced and precise method of controlling AC induction motors compared to scalar control. It involves transforming the motor currents and voltages into a rotating reference frame to obtain decoupled control similar to a DC motor. This allows for independent control of flux and torque for faster dynamic response and better performance than scalar control. The basic implementation of vector control uses Clarke and Park transformations to convert between stationary and rotating reference frames in the controller. It provides DC motor-like precision in speed and torque control of induction motors.

Modeling control of automatic voltage regulator with proportional integral de...eSAT Journals
This document summarizes a study that models the control of an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) system using a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller. The study creates a simulation model of an AVR controller using MATLAB/Simulink software. The simulation shows that adding a PID controller to the AVR results in a faster response time when loads change compared to using just the AVR with a proportional controller. With optimized PID constants, the voltage is restored to a stable level much quicker while experiencing less oscillation when loads fluctuate. Therefore, the study concludes that a PID controller is better suited than a proportional controller alone for controlling generator voltage with changing loads.
An induction motor (IM) has been the workhorse of the industry for decades. It is due to its robustness, simple construction, requiring less maintenance and cheap. One of the most widely adopted IM drive control schemes for industrial applications is the open-loop constant V/Hz. In this paper, the important elements of an open-loop constant V/Hz drives are presented. These include the fundamental concept of a constant V/Hz scheme, the voltage source inverter (VSI) and its modulation schemes. Techniques that are commonly used to solve problems of low-speed operation and rotor speed regulation are briefly described. Simulations using MATLAB/Simulink package are used to help in illustrating these fundamental concepts. Finally, simple laboratory-scale experiments are conducted to implement the constant V/Hz control scheme on a ¼ hp induction motor. The constant V/Hz control is implemented using the DS1104 controller board with the C codes automatically generated from the Simulink model. A closer look at the current waveform when fref=25 Hz and 12 Hz and its respective Fourier analysis are presented. The results show that the high-frequency harmonic contents around the switching frequency can be observed for both cases, and the voltage waveform presents more spike noises in constrast to current waveform.

Vector control of AC induction motors provides superior dynamic performance compared to scalar control by decoupling torque and flux control. Vector control represents the stator currents as direct and quadrature components (Ids and Iqs) that independently control flux and torque. This allows precise and independent control of torque and flux to eliminate oscillations for applications requiring high performance like robotics. Vector control implementations determine the orientation of Ids and Iqs either directly by measuring airgap flux or indirectly by measuring slip speed to achieve independent control of the current components.
This document analyzes the performance of Z-source inverter (ZSI) based unified power flow controller (UPFC) compared to voltage source inverter (VSI) based UPFC in a transmission system under three-phase fault conditions. Simulation models are developed for cases with and without UPFC, and with VSI-UPFC and ZSI-UPFC. The results show that fault current and I2R losses are reduced more with ZSI-UPFC than with VSI-UPFC or without UPFC. Therefore, the performance of ZSI-based UPFC is determined to be superior for mitigating faults in transmission systems.

Abstract In modern era, the increasing size of the power system, to maximize the use of existing systems and to provide adequate voltage support is an emphasis on finding solutions. This flexibility is needed electricity. Better placed than the Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) to control the flow of electricity, and to provide voltage support can be effective in turn resulting in less damage. The impact of these tools on line flow and bus voltage profile at random algorithm to determine the optimal number of ratings have been studied by keeping them better . The FACTS devices are expensive cause of that FACTS type, number and location of the FACTS devices is very important, for decide the optimal location and parameters of FACTS devices. FACTS are used in the following purposes: Transmission pricing issues by maximizing social welfare with or without consideration of FACTS’ costs; Better utilization of FACT by maximizing FACTS devices total transferred power; Reactive power or voltage control by minimizing transmission losses, or voltage fluctuation. Increase system’s security under emergency by minimizing transmission lines loadability. Power flow control, a current long transmission line, plays an important role within the energy system. 1. DPFC aims to overcome disadvantages of unified power flow controller (UPFC) by eliminating the common DC link and distributing the series converter.
2. DPFC configuration involves multiple series converters connected along the transmission line with individual DC capacitors, instead of a single UPFC with common DC link.
3. DPFC provides benefits like high control capability by controlling various transmission parameters, high reliability through use of multiple series converters, and lower cost compared to UPFC.
The significance of power factor correction (PFC) has long been visualized as a technology requirement for improving the efficiency of a power system network by compensating for the fundamental reactive power generated or consumed by simple inductive or capacitive loads. With the Information Age in full swing, the growth of high reliability, low cost electronic products have led utilities to escalate their power quality concerns created by the increase of such “switching loads.” These products include: entertainment devices such as Digital TVs, DVDs, and audio equipment; information technology devices such as PCs, printers, and fax-machines; variable speed motor drives for HVAC and white goods appliances; food preparation and cooking products such as microwaves and cook tops; and lighting products, which include electronic ballasts, LED and fluorescent lamps, and other power conversion devices that operate a variety of lamps. The drivers that have resulted in this proliferation are a direct result of the availability of low-cost switch-mode devices and control circuitry in all major end-use segments: residential, commercial, and industrial.
In order to keep power quality under the limits proposed by standards, it is required to incorporate some sort of compensation. There are two basic types of PFC circuits: active and passive. The simplest power factor correctors can be implemented using a passive filter to suppress the harmonics in conjunction with capacitors or inductors to generate or consume the fundamental reactive power, respectively. Active power factor correction circuits have proven to be more effective, generally integrated with the switch-mode circuitry, and actively control the input current of the load. This enables the most efficient delivery of electrical power from the power grid to the load. The demand for new smart, green products has set the stage for a worldwide migration from antiquated passive circuits to active correctors as well as from traditional analog technology to digital techniques. New digital active power factor correction delivers better full- and light-load power efficiency while lowering system costs, enabling smaller designs and providing a clear path for further feature enhancements and improved competitive positioning for a whole host of consumer and industrial products. Cirrus Logic’s novel advances in digital active PFC technology signify a major enabling element in the development of the newest generation of low cost, energy-efficient switch mode products.

Transient Stability of Power System using Facts Device-UPFCijsrd.com
This paper is based on Occurrence of a fault in a power system causes transients. To stabilize the system, The Flexible Alternating Current Transmission (FACTS) devices such as UPFC are becoming important in suppressing power system oscillations and improving system damping. The UPFC is a solid-state device, which can be used to control the active and reactive power.. By using a UPFC the oscillation introduced by the faults, the rotor angle and speed deviations can be damped out quickly than a system without a UPFC. The effectiveness of UPFC in suppressing power system oscillation is investigated by analyzing their oscillation in rotor angle and change in speed occurred in the two machine system considered in this work. A proportional integral (PI) controller has been employed for the UPFC. It is also shown that a UPFC can control independently the real and reactive power flow in a transmission line. A MATLAB simulation has been carried out to demonstrate the performance of the UPFC in achieving transient stability of the two-machine five-bus system.
The electricity supply industry is undergoing a profound transformation worldwide. Market forces, scarcer natural resources, and an ever-increasing demand for electricity are some of the drivers responsible for such unprecedented change. Against this background of rapid evolution, the expansion programs of many utilities are being thwarted by a variety of well-founded, environment, land-use, and regulatory pressures that prevent the licensing and building of new transmission lines and electricity generating plants.
There are two broad classes of power system stability:
1) Steady state stability - The ability of a system to maintain equilibrium after a small disturbance.
2) Transient stability - The ability to maintain synchronism during large disturbances like faults.
Factors influencing transient stability include generator loading, fault conditions, clearing time, reactances, and inertia. Methods to improve it include high-speed excitation, series capacitors, fault clearing and independent pole operation.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network.
