Emerging security challenges of Nepal

Nepal faces several new and existing security challenges, including ethnic and religious conflict, terrorism, migration, environmental degradation, and human rights violations. A properly drafted constitution is needed to ensure public security and protect citizens from both outside and inside threats. To address these emerging threats, Nepal requires a multi-lateral approach, political stability, strong rule of law, continuity in foreign policy, and reforms to strengthen institutions like the National Security Council.

Additionally, it deepened the expansion of intercontinental crimes, money laundering and other illegal acts that have a crucial impact on global politics and economy. Thus, tackling this phenomenon within a legal and judicial framework is important for preserving human rights and societal peace, in addition to guaranteeing the right to a fair trial. The establishment of a comprehensive and fair judicial and legal system will help protect young people from joining radical terrorist organizations and strengthen the efforts to reintegrate these young people into their societies. Thus, this policy brief will discuss the post-revolutionary Tunisian context and its association with the phenomenon of violent extremism and will examine the new Tunisian Constitution and the new anti-terrorism law. Furthermore, this policy brief will also focus on the importance of reforming the Tunisian legal and judicial system in order to protect human rights and guarantee the rights and freedoms to all people, for that they are the foundation of the Tunisian revolution. Finally, there will be a series of recommendations directed at politicians and Tunisian legislators.

Emerging security challenges of Nepal

- 2. To highlight the newer and existing security challenges that Nepal is facing and the possible suggestion that can help to reduce the problems
- 4. Security has it's different perspective and it's a right of any individual to be secured. A country secured from outside threats should also protect its citizens from inside threats to ensure public security, which has broaden the meaning of security. Nepal has gone through several securities issues since the rise of extremist armed group and lack of rules of laws. Nepal should have properly drafted constitution which has failed to ensure security to public.
- 5. Newer security threats :- Ethnic and religious conflict Terrorism Migration Environmental degradation Communicable diseases Democracy Human rights violation Gender crime Poverty hunger and deprivation Increasing pollution and decreasing public health and weak infrastructure and technology to fight against various fatal diseases. Not only territorial integrity and political independence but also citizens freedom, economic independence ,social stability and cultural identity should be protected and hence multi-lateral approach is needed to dealt with the emerging threats and challenges.
- 6. Also :- Weak diplomatic policy Haphazard urbanization Political instability Erosion of rules of laws Aid dependency culture Poor infrastructure Hence political stability ,strong rules of laws is vital, also continuity and confidence in foreign policy is necessary
- 7. Nepal security council has been established as an apex institution for democratic control of national armed forces, yet it is perceived to be in active. To strengthen this problem:- Re-structuring of National security council Reforms of Ministry of defense Amend the provision of Military Act 2006 Reform military court and military organization more inclusive
