PRESENTATION IS VERY MUCH ONE-WAY METHOD,
WHILE COMMUNICATION SKILL REFERS TO EXPRESSION
OF TWO OR MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE.

3. WHAT'S DIFFERENT IN OUTSTANDING LEADERS
ORDINARY PEOPLE + EXTRAORDINARY VISION
?
Success is, the ability to COMMUNICATE it.

4. PROBLEMS IN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
 Not Listening what’s important.
 Not Saying what’s necessary.

5.  The use of jargons. Over-complicated, unfamiliar or
technical terms.
 Emotional barriers and taboos. Topics may be completely
'off-limits' or taboo.
 Lack of attention, interest, distractions, or irrelevance to
the receiver.
 Differences in perception and viewpoint.
 Physical disabilities such as hearing problems or speech
difficulties
 Language differences and the difficulty in understanding
unfamiliar accents.
 Expectations and prejudices. People often hear what they
expect to hear rather than what is actually said and jump to incorrect
conclusions.

C: Clear – the use of simple, easily understood
words and phrases.
L: Loud (enough) – it is important that everyone can
hear you.
A: Assertive – knowledge of the subject and good
preparation.
P: Pause – it is essential to allow the listeners, time
to digest, what you have said.

 Eyes are the mirror to the soul.
 Confident eye contact shows trustworthiness and
truthfulness.
 If someone won’t maintain eye contact it mean they are
uncomfortable with either you or the topic.

 Both reflects and affects how we feel.
 Sloppy posture shows we are too loose.
 Stiff posture indicates tension & stress
 Confident posture is Heads up, sitting or
standing erect.
