My Love Of Travel
For any person that went on vacations as a little kid, there will always be one that sticks out in their
mind. For me that vacation was a 2008 Disney cruise in the Bahamas. As a second grader getting to
miss school was a big deal. This vacation just happened to be during the last week of school that year.
I was incredibly excited to not only miss school but also get to go see a new place. In my family we
love to travel. I ve been in 3 countries and 14 or more states. This vacation was my start to all of these
places and sparked my love to see the world. One of the reasons this vacation influenced my love of
travel was that this was the first time I had been on a big plane. I love to fly places. Flying is a lot
faster than driving places and with two brothers that makes a huge difference.
On this vacation I visited one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, one of the British Virgin Islands, and Disney
s private island, Castaway Cay. Every day of the trip we were either at port on one of these islands or
spending our day on the boat on the way to one of these islands. When we were at port on any of the
islands we were given a time to be back then we were set free to get off of the boat and explore the
island at our own pace. We took a bus tour on one of the islands but on the others we got out and
visited some of the little shops or went to the beach for a day in the sand.

From beginning to end, any mention of the Natives by the French was usually linked to the word
savages. This was shown in several scenes in the film. Towards the beginning, before Father Laforgue
and Daniel leave on the Hurons mission, two men are talking to one another about how they would not
go on such a mission with savages. Another example of this reference is near the end of the film when
Father Laforgue finds Father Jerome in the Huron village and even Father Jerome refers to the ailing

shut himself in his imaginary serene world. For instance, In the Premier Chagrin, translated as The
First Grief, Knight paints two healthy girls conversing on a stone wall in front of gorgeous fields. At
first, it appears as merely a pretty painting that is nicely contrasted to show depth and realism. Yet,
with a closer look, this contrast in the colors and lines of the landscape and the figures creates tension
to suggest the painter s conflict between longing for serene freedom and feeling trapped within the
