Introduction
The workplace is not often the first place one would think that you need to convey warmth. In a
professional setting, our society does not often think about the relationships and nonverbals that
express and influence behavior. A virtuous leader is one who will lead their employees to achieve
desired goals. An effective leader that provides job satisfaction is important in the workforce we
have today. High job satisfaction enhances employees psychological and physical wellbeing (Ilardi,
Leone, Kansser, Ryan, 1983) This can in turn influence employee productivity and success for both
parties.
Supervisors can use nonverbals to connect interpersonally with subordinates. The manner in which
supervisors use nonverbals to communicate with their subordinates may be more important than the
verbal content displayed between a supervisor and subordinate. This analysis will examine the
issue of subordinate emotional experience and suggest a solution to this problem by encouraging
supervisors to display immediate nonverbals. (Richmond McCroskey, 2000b, p.195) The following
paper will focus on the ways that supervisors can use nonverbal immediacy to improve
subordinates emotional well being in and out of the workplace.
The Problem
According to etiquette expert and author Oropeza Randall, when employees feel discouraged,
underappreciated, or undervalued it can lead to disconnection and apathy which is poison to the

The speaker in To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell is a shady man that is trying to persuade
a virgin to have sex with him. The man is using the uncertainty of death throughout the poem to
seduce the woman, which leads to the assumption that it is more about sex, than love. Although
he does admire her beauty, the question to be asked is whether he is in love with her or if he is
in it for his own selfishness. If time is the super villain of Andrew Marvell s To His Coy
Mistress, then having sex is the super power he needs to gain control over his enemy. But, sex
isn t so easy to come by. Possibly because only a very special someone would understand the
speaker s ideas about it. With wit and daring, the speaker discusses sex in frank, beautiful, and
disturbing language. (Shmoop Editorial Team). The man seductively uses the essence of time to try
to persuade the woman to have sex with him, before they both die, or before she figures out what
his true intentions are.
The man preys into the fear and uncertainty of death by stating then worms shall try that long
preserved virginity, and your quaint honour turn to dust (Marvell 27 29). This disgusting image is
intended to encourage his lover to give her virginity to the speaker rather than foolishly saving
herself for the worms when buried. He also makes a pun of her quaint honour , which could be
seen as a reference to her naГЇve preservation of her virginity even though death ( turn to dust ) is
inevitable. It is also a reference to her body quaint was a euphemism for vagina around the late
16th century (BBC). He is trying to get her to let go of her honor, implying she will lose her
virginity eventually, whether it is with him or the worms in her grave. Trying his best to get what
he truly wants, he starts using her honor against her, telling her that worms will turn her honor to
dust and if she would just have sex with him it would be preserved. The man insinuates that he
will admire and love her for ages, but if that is true, why is he so persistent for it to happen right
now?

Central Falls, Rhode Island, is located just outside of the Providence, the capital of Rhode Island.
The diversity of the Central Falls community is echoed by looking at the high schools 800 member
student body. Within the number of students the birthplaces represented are Puerto Rico,

ABSTRACT: The aim of this experiment was calculating the values of viscosity and collision
diameter for nitrogen gas, argon gas, and dry air. This objective was carried out by filling a glass
bulb to a pressure of about 700 Torr with the desired gas and letting it evacuate the bulb through
a capillary over a ten minute period. The pressure was recorded every five seconds. The inverse
pressure was graphed against time, and a linear regression along with a least squares were
performed. The slope of the line of best fit was used to calculate the capillary radius, which was
then used to calculate the viscosities of the gases, which were used to calculate the collision
diameters. The experimental values were compared to the literature values by percent difference,
and it was found that this technique is not effective. Percent errors ranged from 0% to 30%. To
make the values more accurate, the assumptions made in calculations need to be the same for all
values. To take the experiment further it could be performed at other pressures, temperatures, and

Why Funding For Public Education
When it comes to education, it is generally agreed that money matters. What is not as apparent are
questions like: In what ways does money matter? How does money impact the achievement and
opportunities of the students? Are there predictable affects of increasing or decreasing spending in
a school system? These questions are important for a number of reasons. Funding for public
educationis a limited resource and knowing how to utilize those limited funds efficiently and
effectively is a goal schooladministrators seek to achieve. There is also the issue of equality. Since
a significant portion of a school s budget is allocated through the local tax base, school districts may

school spending is tied to student performance or opportunities, and different school systems have

I can relate to Thomas because of these four ways. Thomas was doubtful and worked hard at finding
out the truth. He helped out others believe in Jesus even though they have never seen Him. He
taught about Jesus to others. And he struggled a lot throughout his life with Jesus.
Thomas doubted and so he worked hard at finding out the truth. He always doubted because of his
faith, he wanted to see with his own eyes instead of believing what he wanted to see. For
example when Jesus was crucified on the cross he was speared in the chest and nailed to the
cross from his wrists. When Jesus was resurrected He visited the group of disciples but Thomas
wasn t with the group at the time. So when Thomas came to them they told him about the good
news but he didn t believe them unless he saw and felt Jesus wounds in his wrists and chest.
Jesus then invited Thomas to see Him so he did and Thomas felt his wounds and believed. The way
I work hard is my schedule; I have to wake up go to swim practice from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I have
to go to school for six hours and do a lot of assignments for each class. After each class they assign
homework which usually takes another two hours after school. Then I have to go to swim
practice again for another two hours. When I m finished with practice I have to go eat dinner,
then I go home around 8:00 8:30. I have to do my homework which takes forever and go to bed
late and wake up early the next morning for practice. It s hard to do mostly because of the
amount of school work we have. When I have to wake up for practice it makes it even harder
because I put in all my effort and end up tired before school and makes it harder to concentrate.
Then after school I have to practice really hard again, and by the time I get home I m exhausted
and just want to go to sleep, but I have to stay up and do a lot of homework. I keep doubting that
I won t be able to get my work done on time or work hard at practice. I just try to do my best at
either my school work or swimming no matter what.
