Descritive Essay
Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself can be a formidable task. The challenge lies in
navigating the fine line between self-expression and self-indulgence, painting a vivid picture
without veering into narcissism. It demands a delicate balance between introspection and
objectivity, requiring the author to delve deep into their experiences and personality while
maintaining a sense of detachment.
The difficulty intensifies as one grapples with the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and embracing
a unique perspective. Describing oneself without resorting to overused phrases can be akin to
walking on a tightrope—tricky and requiring constant adjustments. Striking the right tone is
crucial; an essay that is too self-aggrandizing may come off as arrogant, while one that is
excessively modest might fail to capture the essence of the individual.
Moreover, there's the struggle to find the right words, metaphors, and anecdotes that effectively
convey one's identity. It's not just about listing achievements or traits; it's about weaving them
into a narrative that captivates the reader. This demands a level of introspection that can be both
enlightening and challenging.
In the end, a self-descriptive essay is a nuanced dance between self-awareness and humility,
creativity and authenticity. It is a journey of self-discovery through the written word, where
every sentence is a brushstroke on the canvas of one's personality.

African American Great Migration
The African American Great Migration and beyond by Stewart E. Tolnay and All the
Nations under Heaven, An Ethnic and Racial History of New York City by
Frederick M. Binder are about the migration of blacks in the first reading and the
migration of Jews in the second reading and the cause of the migration and the
aftermath. The American Great Migration and beyond talks about the Great
migration of blacks from the South to the North. Many blacks migrated to the North
for a better life and for more opportunities. They wanted to escape segregation and
racism that Jim Crow imposed in the South so they decided to migrate to the North.
Against this challenging backdrop, migrants attempted to find a place in the northern
economy that would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One difference is that many Jews upon arrival were employed in clothing industry,
some were metal workers, food industry worker, machine, building and furnishing
workers. But this was not the case for the blacks upon their arrival they were not
immediately employed. They had hard time finding a place to live let alone finding a
job. However one similarity that I found is that both parties had to deal with racism.
Jews faced anti semitism in the late nineteenth century and the blacks faced
segregation and discrimination. Another thing similar is poverty, both groups dealt
with poverty. This relates to current issue and that is poverty. Poverty is still a big
factor in the United States and unemployment and income inequality are the main
causes of poverty. Of those in poverty many are African Americanand Latinos. They
do not have access to healthcare. Those that work are not payed as good as someone
from another race and the chance of hiring them is very small. Black or Hispanic do
not receive equal payment and are not treated equal even now. They are not
discriminated openly but discrimination is still there in education and job. Many
educated blacks and Hispanics are not given the equal opportunity. So it just
impossible for them to come out of this unequal system and be treated as
Similarities Between Parliamentary And Presidential System
Michaela Ottenberg

Part C: Compare Contrast Paper
While democracies can flourish in both presidential and parliamentary systems of
government, parliamentary systems have a special advantage to the US system
because of their multiparty nature. With the growth of party polarization in the
United States, the two party model is not able to properly support a presidential
system. Thus, the United States could learn from multiparty parliamentary systems.
While multiparty systems can create issues, especially because a group can wield a
great deal of authority without a simple majority, parliamentary systems still lend
themselves to stronger leadership. For instance, presidential systems can attract
political outsiders with little experience in governance. Parliamentary systems foster
leadership that tends, on average, to have more experience and thus stronger
leadership.
When comparing parliamentary and presidential systems, depending on the nation
state, the two systems can have a lot of similarities. This paper will explore the
similarities and differences between Ireland s parliamentary republic and America s
presidential system. Both Ireland and the United States have a president; however,
in Ireland the President serves a 7 year term and is the head of their lawmaking
body, the House of Oireachtas (Barrington 103). Like the United States Congress, the
House of Oireachtas is a bicameral legislative body, meaning that it is made up of
two chambers: the Dail and the
Image Trend Report
As I ve continued to advance in my career as a firefighter/EMT I ve begun to notice
the amount of writing that correlates with emergency services. Arguably the most
important thing secondary to treatment is report writing. For the past year I have
been volunteering in Goochland County and am soon to be an AIC/primary care
provider on an ambulance. Throughout the process I have noticed how crucial
documentation is by leading patient treatment and handling incident reports. This
paperis to inform myself and readers about the topic of writingwithin the field of
EMS based on the questions I have asked EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters.

Details in the documentation should make the provider remember the call several
years down the line so narratives should have differences (Winnie Dunn). Many
times the patient narrative will be challenged in court if a provider is sued and can
end up being their saving grace .
In most cases there is little time to complete Image Trend reports. EMT Intermediate
Kaylynn Albertson states, Richmond Ambulance Authority implements a maximum
of an 8 minute response time, 10 minutes for being on scene, 10 minutes for
transporting to the hospital, and 20 for finishing your reports and marking back in
service. The most challenging part are those last 20 minutes. From writing this essay I
have discovered that I am on the write track to progress in my line of work. The
main points I received from my contacts were to continue writing reports because
the repetition increases proficiency, take classes on technical or general writing,
read other s reports. and, especially stressed by my EMT instructor is that today
someone will call 911 for the first time, the last time, or the only time. Don t we owe

Gregory House Aphorism
House M.D., an American television show that aired from 2004 2012, is a dramatic
series about medical mysteries. The main character of Gregory House, a doctor at
Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, was written based off of the infamous
Sherlock Holmes. House is a genius doctor who specializes in medical mysteries.
During the span of 8 seasons, House, who is accompanied by a varying team of
other doctors, go in search of mysterious unsolved and undiagnosed medical cases.
House only takes cases of interest in pursuit not for wealth or fame, but for his
own intellectual stimulation. House contains a prickly, rude, and sarcastic
personality. This inferiority complex that House has is to help compensate for
years of constant bullying and loneliness because of everyone s jealousy due to
how bright he is. Growing up as a so called army brat , House felt a lack of security
because of his father s nearly abusive punishments. This feeling of no security in his
own home, led to House s trust issues which took toll of his future maxim that

Betty Williams Research Paper
Out of all thirty three living Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, I am most interested in
hearing Betty Williams speak about her efforts to inspire peace. Betty Williams
was awarded the 1976 Nobel Peace Prize for her work and devotion to bettering the
lives of suffering children. The 1976 Nobel Peace Prize was jointly awarded to
Betty Williams and her partner Mairead Corrigan in 1977 because the Norwegian
Nobel Committeedecided that the 1976 prize had to be reserved for the following
year since none of the year s candidates for the award matched the criteria ( Nobel

Ireland. Williams drew inspiration from Martin Luther King, Jr. and took many of
the same peaceful approaches that he did. Mrs. Williams states that nonviolence is
the weapon of the strong, not the weak. (Tucci). Aside from the Nobel Peace prize ,
Williams has been presented with a total of 24 different awards and honors such as

Carl Friedrich Gauss Essay example
Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777 1855)
Introduction: Carl Friedrich Gauss is considered one of the greatest mathematicians
of all time. He is a creator in the logical mathematical domain as he contributed many
ideas to the fields of mathematics, astronomy, and physics. Being a math education
major, I have come into contact with Gauss work quite a few times. He contributed
greatly to the different areas of mathematics like linear algebra, calculus, and number
theory. Creativity can be seen when a person makes or discovers substantially new
ideas that dramatically impact the domain in which the person is working. Gauss
work should be considered creative because he contributed so many new theorems
and ideas to mathematics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What makes this more amazing is that nobody had taught him arithmetic. He
picked it up on his own. Although Gauss showed great intelligence, his father
refused to send him to school. His family was very poor as his father worked as a
gardener, canal tender, and bricklayer (Bell 218). His dad wanted his son to follow
in the family s footsteps and work as a laborer. However, his mother intervened and
sent him to school when he was seven. His teacher, BГјttner, was a cold hearted
teacher who loved proving to his students how ignorant they were (Bell 221). At the
age of ten, Gauss discovered a formula that would change his future forever. BГјttner
asked his students to add up the numbers between one and a hundred. He figured this
would keep his students busy all day. However, Gauss noticed a pattern. Without
anyone showing him the formula [n(n+1)]/2, Gauss derived it and solved the
problem quickly (Burton 510). BГјttner was so impressed by this that he bought
Gauss a math book and had his assistant, Johann Bartels, work with the young boy
(Bell 222). The friendship that developed between Bartels and Gauss led Bartels to
introduce Gauss to Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand, the Duke of Brunswick (Bell 224). The
Duke ended up paying for Gauss to continue his education at Caroline College, which
was actually a preparatory school, and then

Diversity In Families
According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, A family consists of a domestic group
of people (or a number of domestic groups), typically affiliated by birth or marriage,
or by comparable legal relationships including domestic partnership, adoption,
surname and (in some cases) ownership. Although many people (including social
scientists) have understood familial relationships in the terms of blood , many
anthropologists have argued that one must understand the notion of blood
metaphorically, and that many societies understand В‘family through other concepts
rather than through genetics. # The families of our nation and our world are steadily

Living Single
About a quarter of American adults live alone in America. For some, this is their
ideal no one to steal the covers, put things away in the wrong place, or say things
to annoy you. Others would rather be in a relationship, but haven t found the right
person, which is sometimes timely and hard to do. Images of single people in
books, movies, and television tend to portray one of two stereotypes: either lonely
single people leading a miserable existence, or hip, stylish single people leading
the perfect urban life. In reality, of course, single hood can intertwine both realities,
and neither. It can be hard to be single in a couplist world, where everything from
dinner party invitations to tables in restaurants are designed for people in pairs. If
you re not married, or at least in a relationship, people may assume there s something
wrong with you, that your life is incomplete. It may feel incomplete to you, too or
you may feel entirely whole and fulfilled.
The word single can be confusing, since it can mean living alone, or it can be a legal
term for anyone who isn t married. In our experience, most unmarried people who are
in long term relationships don t think of themselves as single. When we use the word,
we mean people aren t in a significant sexual/romantic relationship (but this definition
has problems, too.
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) Marriagecan mean a lot of different

Disadvantages Of Driving
My journey began on a spring day, when my boyfriend at that time now my
husband said that is the right time to buy a car. Even though I was 23 at that
moment, I had a feeling like I will be so independent despite the fact that from the
age of 18 years old I didn t live with my parents ,I traveled in Europe by myself and
I was already an independent person. In contrast with the US, in Russia,my
homeland country, the minimum age to drive a car is 18 years old, but there is no
much need in a car because the public transportation is cheaper and more
convenient, the bus stations are close to every location that you may need as well
as if you drive a personal vehicle there is always an issue with the lack of parking
spots that make parking seem endless. On the top of disadvantages, is the
stereotype that the worst drivers in Russia are females. These were my reasons
why I started to drive only at 23, a perfect age, when I just moved to US. The
thought that I will have a car, my own car, made me feel very confident in myself.
Thinking about my future first car made me so happy like I was a child expecting
for Christmas gifts, unwrapping the presents without any idea about what is inside
of the box. Unlike a child, I knew what is going to be inside of the box, something
that suits my budget, around 2 or 3 thousand. I was searching a car not for its shape,
color or model but according my budget. As every first car owner, I wanted a car that
will be cheap in maintenance, with the

systems design and a description of the activities involved in each System
development can generally be thought of having two major components: systems
analysis and systems design. In System Analysis more emphasis is given to
understanding the details of an existing system or a proposed one and then deciding
whether the proposed system is desirable or not and whether the existing system
needs improvements. Thus, system analysis is the process of investigating a system,
identifying problems, and using the information to recommend improvements to the
system. System design is the process of planning a new business system or one to
replace or complement an existing system. Analysis specifies what the system should
do. Design states how to accomplish the objective. After the proposed system is
analyzed and designed, the actual implementation of the system occurs. After
implementation, working system is available and it requires timely maintenance. An
explanation of the benefits of information systems Information systems changed
forever the way accounting tasks are processed. The days of green paper pads are

The Use of Narratives to Express the Religious Beliefs of People in Western Religions
For the layman, familiarity with the major religions stems from the stories that are
associated with them. Using the narratives that are derived from the sacred texts is
the most prominent way in which our society identifies the Westernreligions. The
Jewish tradition is best correlated to stories like the Exodus and the parting of the
Red Seas, for example, as are the many tales of the miracles of Jesus connected to
Christianity. This essay will present narratives as an easy method of providing the
basic groundwork for the Western religious traditionsof Judaism, Christianity, and
Islam because of their simplicity and easily transmittable nature. ... Show more

Therefore, the holy day of Sabbath is it is known for Jews and Christians, is absent
in Islam. God was not weary from the act of creation, and oversaw all that he had
created, rather. This could be seen as part of the belief in Islam that the Koran is a
correction to the previous religions of Judaism and Christianity, and that the holy
scriptures were somehow corrupted in their present form.
In the Western tradition, primarily in the United States where Christianity prevails,
the story of creation from Genesis is held in high regard, and controversies have
erupted disputing whether or not its fundamentals should be taught in school. The
founding of this nation through the Constitution was erected with the belief of
separation of church and state. In the conservative 1920s, a huge court case erupted
from the dispute between the Christian creationism and the scientific founding of
Charles Darwin s evolution. The Scopes Monkey trial of 1925 saw a schoolteacher
found guilty of teaching evolution in the classroom, a theory that flabbergasted
fundamentalist Christians who perceived it ludicrous that humans could have
descended from monkeys. The narrative tradition of the Genesis creation was
evidently a central issue for Americans and typified the Christian identity in the U.S.
at a time when modernism was emerging, as the fourteen states had anti Evolution
statutes.
According to the first account of creation in Genesis, God made man on the sixth

I Find It Ironic That The Star Of The American Sitcom

I find it ironic that the star of the American sitcom Modern Family , SofГa Vergara, is
involved in a custody battle with her ex fiancГ©, Nick Loeb. The irony lies in the
fact that the legal proceedings of this case reveal many American notions about the
societal definition of family. Both in fiction and in reality, SofГa Vergara is playing
the role of formalizing what it means to be a family in America. While illuminating
ideals about family, the SofГa Vergara custody battle, also uncovers details
surrounding the connection between law and the production of social order, the
determination of fact, the distribution of power, and society s general vision of the

The details surrounding Nick Loeb s motivation for this custody battle combined with
the ideology of America s romance regarding community, paint a perfect picture
depicting the importance of family and its effects on an individual s social standing.
As the SofГa Vergara article progresses, notions of family continue to be stressed, and
in addition to the aspects of American social order that have been illuminated,
concepts of fact production are divulged. The only relevant truth explicitly noted in
the SofГa Vergara custody battle is the fact that Nick Loeb and SofГa Vergara are the
natural parents of their frozen embryos (Article). Other than this chunk information,
no other particulars regarding this case can be regarded as truth . Truth is the
subjective perception of the reality around society, and since truth cannot be further
extracted from these legal proceedings, society must rely on fact to determine the
appropriate course of action for the parties involved in the SofГa Vergara trial (Law,

Disillusionment In Twelfth Night
Disappointment and disillusionment are both prominent themes presented by L.P
Hartley in The Go Between. Published in 1953 although set at the beginning of the
20th century, The Go Between demonstrates how a young boys deceived and
clouded perception of life leads to a disillusioned old man, who can t recover from
the distressing events of the first summer of 1900. In Shakespeare s Twelfth Night
disappointment is exhibited through many characters whom experience the torments
of a lovethat is not reciprocated. Furthermore, Thomas Hardy explores similar themes
in his poetry via the use of specific literary techniques, such as metaphors, and
pathetic fallacy to demonstrate how the disillusionment of the speakers past has led

The speakers misconceptions of another woman s feelings towards himself first
emerge when he believes that her gloom within at the lack of [him] seemed

Hardy s use of the expression seemed is a foregrounding technique to imply to the

when the speaker notices that there was glee within. rather than gloom ; the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frozen Dough
It has been believed from ages that there is no substitute for fresh baked product.
However the current trend in the baking industry is to use frozen dough to

caused by aging of products and harmonization of product with the market demands

its variable performance and loss of stability over long term frozen storage (Inoue

Agar forms the strongest and most stable gels at lowest concentration. Agar gels
are transparent and reversible upon heating and cooling. Therefore agar finds
several uses in stabilizing food products. Carrageenans are also sulphated galactans
from seaweed extracts. These are both gel forming and non gel forming carageenan
fractions. Both form stable complexes with proteins and other gums. Carrageenan
are especially useful in dairy products because they form stabilizing complexes with
milk proteins and suspended cocoa powder in milk and give a more acceptable
texture to processed cheese and cream.
Some microbial gums also find use in foods. Two important ones are dextrans and
xanthan gums. Dextran is a polysaccharides consisting of пЃЎпЂD glucose units.
Dextrans of molecular weight below 100,000 are readily soluble in water and are

and D galacturonic acid and has a high molecular weight. It is dissolved in cold
water and finds use in food as a stabilizer, emulisifier, thickener, suspending agent,

in baked goods to enhance dough handling properties, to increase overall quality of

Reflection On Saint Augustine s Confessions
Throughout this class, I have grown so much from where I was at the beginning of
the year. I think that because the class was a collective effort rather than an
individual one, it was more motivation for me to participate properly because people
other than myself were relying on me. Due to the fact that we had written questions
and homework for every reading as well as had to use a great deal of textual evidence
throughout the discussions, I was constantly looking to refer back to the text, and
make sure that my argument fit in with the discussion. Therefore, I got the most out
of outcomefour, using the discussion and the process of writingto enhance my
intellectual discovery. Specifically, a reading that I feel like I used this outcome the
most for was Saint Augustine s Confessions. Once I got through the initial confusion,
through the discussion and especially the second essay helped me develop his ideas
of rightly ordered love . That, then became what I primarily based my exploration of
the text off of. It was important to use Written and Oral Communication for this
reading to see how much of an impact all the situations had on Saint Augustine.
Therefore, being engaged in the reading, writing and asking the right questions, and
using the discussion to further my understanding of the text was a strong lesson I
learned from Seminar2. In regards to the Critical Thinking learning outcome, I found
that making the application and evaluation questions helped me most with

bronchitis, there are many diverse kinds. So, when individuals consider to what
extent bronchitis is infectious, it is hard to state for certain. We can state it that it is
generally any place between a couple of days to an entire week, contingent upon the

Often time, it can be hard to discern whether you have a normal viral bronchitis or
the common cold. However, for the most part in a case that you keep on coughing
for possibly more than seven days, even after your other indications of cold are gone,
you could conceivably have bronchitis.
What Happens to Viral Bronchitis after taking antibiotics?
A few instances of bronchitis basically take their course and leave themselves.
Though, there are circumstances when anti infection agents are required to battle the
bacteria. A specialist may propose antibiotics in case that they presume an auxiliary
microbial infection. Doctors are regularly asked by patients to what extent viral
bronchitis is contagious subsequent to taking antibiotics.
So, taking antibiotic agents for around a week is typically enough to kill the bacterial
disease. Once the manifestations begin to vanish. And the fluid in throat called
mucus turns from yellow or green to white subsequent to taking the antitoxins, a man
is likely to be no longer contagious.
Remember, antibiotic medicines don t take a shot at infections. So, your specialist
won t endorse them for you unless they discover that your viral bronchitis is
Mental Illness Is A Broad Category
Mental illness is a broad category, that encompasses many different types of illnesses,
and can affect anyone at any time. This illness is on a continuum, that can affect one
patient differently than another patient. A mental status of an individual is associated
with many factors that play into this person s daily life. Mental illnesscan cause an
individual to feel isolated, hopeless, and worthless; therefore, result in other forms of
mental illnesses or conditions to occur. Many of these individuals may turn to drugs,
self harm, or even complete suicide. This could be because, they are trying to get rid
of the pain that these mental illnesses are causing them. These individuals are told by
their doctor, that they have an illness that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An interesting thing to note, is that animals do not judge or discriminate against these
individuals, therefore making this therapy a satisfactory option for helping an
individual. Animals will be there for these individuals, and act as someone for these

need someone to be there, listen, and love them unconditionally. Not judge them, and

animals that will do just that, and therefore, ATT is not just limited to cats and dogs;
ATT can be horses or rabbits as well. The article, Effectiveness of animal assisted

inpatients that have schizophrenia, and found the dog treatment groups, helped
significantly improve the individual s positive and negative symptoms associated
with schizophrenia, improved these individuals living skills, and improved their

my life attitude.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed I could have a car which belongs to me. I

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
Throughout history, women have faced with a plethora of challenges that called for
them to transcend society s limitations. One of these situations was the challenges
presented by the terrible living and factory conditions in New York City at the turn
of the 20th century. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire took the lives of 146
immigrant women and devastated New York; and due to the theft preventative
measures of locking the doors to the factory, owner, Isaac Harris and Max Blanck led
to even more lives being lost. This situation, although terrible, was not that
uncommon. As these immigrant women arrived in the United States, there would be
a typical and similar experience among many; one that started with the problems
offered upon arrival,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Because of the social Darwinism, he began to place himself on a higher level than
the others and ended up not protecting his fellow immigrants as he should have. He
forced all witnesses to testify in English instead of Yiddish; this would make the

low intelligence, and this was the point he was trying to bring (237 238). His

The Design Of Machines And The Narrative Of The Life
Of...
Over time, Man has developed various institutions, such as slavery and the design of
machines, to work for him. Despite the intentions Man had, such institutions have led
to the destruction of humanity on earth. Referencing the texts R.U.R. (Rossum s
Universal Robots) by Karel ДЊapek and The Narrative of the Life of Frederick
Douglass by Frederick Douglass, this essay postulates that the design of machines
and the use of slaveryhave led to the overall destruction of humanity. Though it is
important to identify that critics may argue that such institutions have benefitted
humanity by making it stronger and more powerful, it is more valid to argue that the
institutions developed by man have led to Man s destruction.

In the play R.U.R., Domin s robots see to all of man s needs, Alquist points out to
Helena that Man s reliance on machines is the reason for the great decrease in
natality; no woman would desire to bear children with a man who did nothing and
was merely superfluous to society. As stated by Fibrous, From a technical
standpoint, the whole of childhood is pure nonsense. Simply wasted time. The
robots had taken away the need to waste the time producing children, because
children were not beneficial to society. Even after the children grew to become
adults, it is plausible to say that adults are less beneficial to society than the robots
are. According to Fabry, one robot is capable of doing the work of two and a half
human laborers, and robots were faster and more convenient to make. It could be
argued that the ability to reproduce in order to develop society is a characteristic of
being human, and the use of machines arguably destroys the humanity of Man,
making man more dependent on things that make work easier.
Similar to machines, it could be argued that the use of slaves is also destructive to
humanity, because it takes the stress of labor off of the whites and places that stress
onto the blacks and mullatos, forcing the whites to rely on the production of the
slaves. Any person who was not white was treated as if they were an animal or
machine; the whites did not care whether they were sick or hungry, they needed to
work. The slaves were put
Explain The Parameters For Visual Analysis Of Case Study
1. Describe the parameters for visual analysis of case study data. How does analysis
through single case effect size statistics effect the confidence in our predictions?
The visual analysis of case study data has become increasingly widespread
psychological studies, but it should be used as a supplement to other methods used to
analyze data. This method can be very helpful for the people who is conducting the
research, as well as other people interested in the results, such as teachers, parents,
administrative and other colleagues. We can use de data analysis to predict because
this method allow us to determine whether or not a treatment is effective and the
relationship between an independable variable and dependent variable.

The variables can become very ambiguous and this can trigger in misunderstandings
of the study being performed. Operationalizing the variables will help us to figure
out how to measure the concepts that interest us. For example, we usually say the
kid is not paying attention , but how can we measure that? or even more difficult,
how can we be sure he/she is not paying attention?. In this case, first, we need to
describe the variables and, in that order we can measure the behaviors in terms of
duration, frequency, latency , and intensity. This will give us a better understanding
of the behavior and will help us to create an objective intervention
Fatah Conflict Essay
Hamas Fatah Conflict: The conflict between Hamas and Fatah lasted for four
years despite of several attempts by the two groups to put their differences aside.
In addition to being known as the struggle for Palestine, the Hamas vs. Fatah rift
led to various concerns on the possibility of having a Palestinian civil war. This is
primarily because it was a major struggle that was described as the biggest internal
disagreement in Palestinian history. The conflict between Hamas and Fatah is a rift
between Islamism and nationalism respectively. Moreover, this rift is also a
struggle between two organizations that want the benefits of leadership i.e. power,
money, and prestige (Rubin, 2006). The struggle started after Hamas won majority
of the seats in the January 2006 democratic elections and revolved around the
control of Palestinian territories. However, this struggle became intensely personal
after Israel s 22 day war of Gaza. Palestine conducted elections in three stages i.e.
municipal, parliamentary, and presidential elections in late 2005 and early 2006.
Through candidates that were vying as either independent or on behalf of Hamas, the
group won all municipal seats in the entire West Bank and Gaza (Zalman, n.d.). As a
major surprise to the whole world, Hamas obtained the right to form the government
after winning 76 of 132 parliamentary seats. In response to Hamas surprise victory,
there was anxiety among Israel and American leaders. Consequently, Israel declined to
How Do Humans Affect Polar Bears
The Polar bear lives in the artic and uses the area s costal waters and ice sheets.
They are well equipped to live in this environment because they have a thick coat
which serves as an insulator. They mainly prey on seals but have also been known
to consume dead whales. They can grow to be 7.25 to 8 feet tall and can weigh
around 900 to 1,600 pounds. Polar bears are a keystone species, if their numbers
decrease there is a possibility that the seal populations will increase which could be
devastating for crustaceans and fish. They help keep populations in balance. Global
Warming is an ongoing problem in the world which causes the average global
temperature to increase near the earth surface. This has affected many animals,

The Indian Judicial System
The Indian Judicial System has always been vigilant about the rights of children for
they are the most valuable assets of the nation. It goes as a fact that development of
children in a society and the development of nation as a whole go hand in hand and
the most potent role in achieving such development is played by Education. Keeping
this in mind, the India Judiciary emerges as a sign of commitment towards
eradication of poverty and illiteracy from the country. The emergence of Right to
Education as a Fundamental Right still has been an elusive goal had Judiciary not
stepped in. The commendable role of judiciary in elevating the status of Right to
Education from a Directive Principle to a Fundamental Right can be traced through a
catena of cases. In the year 1993, Supreme Court turned the wheel of education the
Supreme Court through its tendency towards broad and normative enunciations of
positive rights. The best illustration of this trend can be traced in the famous Mohini
Jain s case and Unnikrishnan s case wherein the Supreme Court ruled that Article 45
in Part IV has to be read in harmonious construction with Article 21 (Right to Life) in
Part III of the Constitution, as Right to Life loses its significance without education.
The apex Court made the following powerful interpretation: It is thus well established
by the decisions of this Court that the provisions of Part III and IV are supplementary
and complementary to each other and that fundamental rights are

When the technology for refrigeration and freezing were not advanced yet, cooks
would be able to tell step by step how to make mixtures for cream but not how to
keep them cold. So with more understanding on the cooling process, they were able
to make what they called cream ice . The Arabs were the first known people to know
how to make ice. Italians and French learned of their techniques and were fascinated
by using both ice and salt to freeze mixtures and keep them cold. Later on ice houses

Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola Essay
At a time when humanist thinkers occupied themselves with determining man s
position in the world, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, in the 15th century Oration on
the Dignity of Man, asserted that man is master of both his dignity and destiny, and
there was no limit to what scientists may achieve as long as they glorify God in the
end. World history teaches that, though scientists might begin research with the intent
of glorifying God , the rush to advance in scienceand technology and the fever to
uncover the wonders of nature result in hubris and the abandonment of God and the
subsequent exaltation of human beings God like properties. Scientists throughout the
centuries have held differing opinions about the limits humans should impose on
science: whereas Pico della Mirandolabelieved science was to be used for the
glorification of God, but never for the imposition of man on God s will; Sir Francis
Bacon, writing 150 years later, believed that any scientific experimentation or means
which justified the end goal of human perfection were acceptable, even if they
interfered with God s creations. In the 21st century, ethicists and scientists from
around the world propose that science should be allowed to continue with broad
moral checks; science is not inherently good or... Show more content on

Immigration And The Debate On Immigration Essay
in the debate was about immigration. Every year, thousands of immigrants come to
the United States, some document and some undocumented. They have different
reasons for wanting to come to America, whether it is for jobs, the policies and laws
of the United States, the economy, or even refugees from countries which are going
through a civil war.
There are many different opinions on immigration and what to do with illegal
immigrants. Many citizens believe that taxes increase due to illegal immigrants
who use federal programs, like welfare. Others believe there are many who come to
America who are dangerous, in gangs, and cause crime and poverty. And still others
believe that we have laws in place to take care of illegal immigration, however, the
country does not enforce those laws.
Donald Trump said he was going to build a wall between the United States and
Mexico when elected president. Not only was he going to build a wall but he was
going to have Mexico pay for it ( COMPELLING MEXICO TO PAY FOR THE
WALL, n.d.). He also promised to deport approximately 11 million undocumented
immigrants and have any immigrants who decide to come to the United States to do
so legally (LoBianco, 2015).
Even though this a controversial subject, the millennial generation is more acceptable
to immigration compared to the older generation. Jeff Guo writes in the Washington
Post First, younger generations have grown up with more diversity, so they likely

Obstetric Ultrasound Essay
Obstetrical Ultrasound Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman s life. A mother

A mother can feel their belly grow, the baby move, and can even feel tiny
sensations like hiccups. What a mother can t do is actually see their little bundle of
joy without having an ultrasound preformed. This paper will go over a brief history
of obstetric ultrasound along with a slight explanation of why they are performed

Ultrasounds help in diagnosing problems such as, physical defects and internal
abnormalities of an unborn baby. Ultrasound allows the doctor to see inside the uterus
and provides much information about the pregnancy (Radiologic Society of North
America, 2013). However, some people believe that ultrasound negatively affects
the tissues of the body. When ultrasound enters the body, it heats the tissues
slightly. In some cases, it can also produce small pockets of gas in body fluids or
tissues known as cavitation, (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2014). Some
also believe that the force of acoustic streaming during an ultrasound can cause
fetal damage. While the effect of this force is not fully understood, research
suggests that it may change cell permeability and have adverse effects on both
early and late prenatal and postnatal development (Kresser, 2011). So no matter
what procedure is being performed, there are always risks and benefits involved.
Although, most pregnant women are worried about the potential risks of their
unborn child, they are more worried about how their child is developing inside their
womb. Most pregnant women look forward to these exams so they can be aware of
their unborn child s growth and prepare if any abnormalities are
Essay Cold War Rhetoric of the Lysenko Era
The Cold War Rhetoric of the Lysenko Era
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union forced its biologists to support the theory
of the inheritance of acquired characteristics, which opposed the conventional
theory of genetics accepted by the scientists in America and most of the world.
This theory that environmentally induced changes to an organism s physical or
biochemical traits could be passed on to its offspring was the main tenet in
Lamarck s work during the early 1800s. It was accepted by most biologists during
Lamarck s time, until the work of Darwin on evolution by natural selection in the
mid 1800s and the discovery of Mendel s work on heredity in the early 1900s lead
most biologists to discount Lamarck s theory. However, in... Show more content on

A Soviet scientist, Medvedev, argues that the dominance of Lysenkoism in the Soviet
Union was caused by the classification of science as bourgeois or proletarian, the
government s aim to increase agricultural production, the censorship in the press,
the isolation of Soviet scientists, and the Soviet s centralization of science (247
252). Joravsky, an American scholar, discounts Medvedev s argument on the
influence of Marxist theory and emphasizes Lysenko s appeal to improving
collectivized agriculture (The Lysenko Affair 228). Soyfer, a recent Russian
scientist, adds that Lysenko s appeal to Stalin s personal interests and views may
have caused his popularity with the state (Lysenko and the Tragedy of Soviet
Science 202). However, these scholars focus on the forces operating within the Soviet
Union, and give little consideration to the larger Cold Warclimate. The rhetoric of
Lysenko s speech and other texts produced during the time shows that the Cold War
had a profound influence on how ideas were interpreted. The Cold War environment
may have motivated the Soviet state to support Lysenko s theory because it conflicted
at a fundamental level with the biological theory accepted in America and promised
to propagate nationalist pride by
The Work Of A Mercenary
The job of a mercenary, fighting a war or performing some sort of military duty, for
pay, without nationalist allegiance, has been a job ...since the dawn of warfare,
from Xenophon s ten thousand Greeks hired to fight in Persia to the Swiss Guards
who protect the Vatican today (Blood and Treasure). Simply put, Mercenaries are
nothing new. However only in the last 60 or so years has a new, modern form of
mercenarywork come into practice. Modern mercenaries today often function in the
form of a Private MilitaryCorporation or PMC. These are corporations that train and

ever since and has only grown in scale. Other than the size of the Industry, not
much has changed in PMCs. They still receive funding mainly from their clients,
who are often national governments, and from their investors if they are publicly

expected to grow in net revenue from $55.6 billion to $202 billion between the

How does Jonathan Swift represent women in his Stella s...
In studying Jonathan Swift s poetry, I have been instantly drawn to his series of
Stella s Birthday poems, one of which was written every year from 1719 until the
death of their subject, and in this essay I will be examining how Swift has
represented women and femininity in these poems, and several more of his works.
My aim will be to ascertain this by examining his works in detail, and looking at what
motivated Swift to represent women in the way he did, through looking both at the
culture and literature at the time, and his own life and influences.
Swift never married, although Stella, whose real name was Esther Johnson was
thought to be his dearest, most intimate companion , and it was alleged, although
never proved, that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These strongly favourable sentiments are echoed in another poem, Stella s Birthday
March 13, 1719, a much shorter work which is, although again consistent in tribute to
its subject, contains a more jovial, humorous element than the later poems dedicated
to her. It opens with the lines; Stella this day is thirty four, (We shan t dispute a year
or more:) However, Stella, be not troubled, Although thy size and years are doubled.
This is an entirely more amusing and light hearted verse than Stella s Birthday
March 13, 1727, and this echoes the entire poem in that whilst it is forward in its
flattery, it is approached in an entirely different manner. In this poem Swift focuses
more on Stella at a superficial level; here women are represented as objects of
beauty, which contrasts with the paragon of virtue and patience under torturing
pain she is portrayed as in his later poem. Swift writes here in a style reminiscent of
Shakespeare s Sonnets, for example Sonnet XVIII, where the lady in question is
compared to the weather and called an eternal summer. In Swift s work Stella is
similarly elevated; he declares that even if she is split in two, No age could furnish
out a pair, Of nymphs so graceful, wise, and fair; With half the lustre of your eyes.

The Causes Of The Failure Of Capitalism In The Jungle
By...
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair was written to expose the brutality faced by the
workers in the meatpacking industry. He wanted to show people what was really
going on in the factory because few people were informed about these companies
work conditions . He wanted to show the public that meat was diseased, rotten, and
contaminated. This revelation shocked the public which later led to the creation of
the federal laws on food and safety. Sinclair strongly shows the failure of capitalism
in the meatpacking industry which he viewed as inhuman, destructive, unjust,
brutal, and violent. (Middlebury) Sinclair was an American writer born in
Baltimore. He was struggling to live a basic life, and he started reading about
socialism. He believed that America would vote for peaceful negations , So the
government will take ownership of its business. He then joined the socialist party in
1903, He began to write for the company Appeal To Reason which was a socialist
magazine. The meatpacking company workers went on strikes, the strikes broke
quickly because the company replaced the workers. This, kept the line running and
the other families became Impoverished . After this incident , the Appeal to Reason
suggested him to write about the strikes. He went to Chicago to research about the
conditions of the workers, and he personally interviewed the workers in the factories

My Favorite School Field Trip
Some people wouldn t think school could be fun. All that we do is learn. All field
trips we go on are just educational and boring. Well some might be, but many can be
fun. You would never think somewhere you ve always wanted to go to would be
your next field trip. Somewhere really fun. I have thought plenty of times in the past
that I didn t want to go on the tripit was boring, but I was wrong and this is why.
My first favorite school memory was in eighth grade. I was in chorus and we were
going on a trip to Massachusetts with the band for a competition. I was super
excited and couldn t wait to sell all of my tickets. When the day finally came I was so
excited. We rode in a coach bus which was really cool because I ve never been in one
before. When we arrived in Massachusetts we headed over to where we were
having the competition. The competition was being held at a really big school. We
performed and sounded really good. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up
since I had never done that before.
When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our
tickets to get into Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to
Agawam, Massachusetts where Six Flags was located. As we got closer and closer
there were flags on the side of the road leading us there and my anticipation grew
even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there.
Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun.
I was really excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the
park. There were no close parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to
the back parking lot and walk up to the entrance. Once I walked into the park it was
so much bigger than any I expected. All the roller coasters were huge. I didn t get to
go on any because everyone would ask me to hold their stuff but a couple things I did
go on were the bumper cars, a water slide, a boat ride and I played some mini games.
Those were fun enough for me but if I ever go back again I am going to try the roller
coasters. The water slide was really fun. All you had to do was go up a ramp inside a
tube and the ramp would push you down the slide while water was being splashed at

of repeating the same actions expecting different results, I decided that it was time
for a change. I had to come to my senses and understand that there was so much
more to do and live for. Having this revelation helped me see how valuable I am. I
would not let the injury get the best of me, so I began to fight. Fight as in
understand the process and refuse to give up no matter how challenging. I had to
set many goals, both short term and long term. I figured the process would be
much easier if I attacked it one day at a time. It was almost as if I had to recreate
my self in the image that I had wanted. Some of my actions had to be eliminated
from my life, along with many of the people that I surrounded myself with. In order
to move forward, I had to understand that you can not drag old things into new
situations. I called this stage of my
Cryptography Is A Science That Transforms Information
Into...
In recent times providing security to the information is the major issue. There are
many applications developed by the cyber terrorists, cyber criminals, script kidders
etc. to steal the private information like passwords, ATM pin numbers, and credit card
details so on. One of the solution to protect the information is Cryptography, which is
the focus of this paper.
Cryptography is a science that transforms information into secure form by providing
basic protections. These protections include confidentiality, Integrity, Availability,
Authentication, and Nonrepudiation (Ciampa 189). Let s understand the
characteristics of information and their description (see table 1).
The term Cryptography was originated from Greek. In Greek Crypto means hidden
and grapy means writing. Simply, cryptography means scrambling data so that it
cannot be read or access by an unauthorized person. The ancient cryptographer
Julius Caesar sent messages to his commanders by shifting each letter in his
message to three places down in the alphabet. A was replaced by D, B was replaced
by E and so on (Ciampa 186). This method of changing the original text into a secret
message is called encryption and retrieving back to the original form is called
decryption.
The clear plaintext is given as input to the cryptographic algorithm. According to
Stallings cryptographic algorithms consists of mathematical functions which are used
to encrypt and decrypt the data (44). A key is a mathematical value which

How many hours a day can you put into the server?:
I can put a lot of the hours into the server because I stay home a lot and mostly game.
But I do have to go to school events on a rare day but I will try to put the majority
of my hours into this server if I get staff! Also sometimes depending on the day I
have to do other things so my hours could sway depending on what is happening
that day. The hours I will put down is how much time I could spend on the server on
a perfect day and a perfect week.
Schedule!
On a Monday I can work 6 7 hours.
On a Tuesday I can work 3 5 hours.
On a Wednesday I can work 6 7 hours.

I truly love getting rid of hackers/cheaters because I hate how they ruin the
community for a lot of the player base.
I feel as if I had the rank I would be able to help players more. Most people on the
server when they see you asking if anyone needs help they count you as a suck up or
a tryhard. But in reality, I am just trying to help players have a better overall
experience on the server one step at a time. Let s say for example someone is asking
for help in chat a lot of times over and over again and he isn t getting any staff
message him/her. I am able to message him but usually, I get responses like I don t
need you I need a staff. I want to use my staff powers for the betterment of the server
and so I can help players more often.
The last reason I think would like to be staff is that it would give me something to
do. Everyday I get home from school and hop on Forcide for a little bit, then I get
bored after 30 minutes or so. If I was staff then I would never get bored because
there is endless possibility s of what I can be doing. I can be helping people in
teamspeak, or helping someone on the server, or just monitoring everyone and
making sure they are having a good time. Either way, there is so much to do as a
staff member and I am eager to do it. If you give me the opportunity to show you
what I can do as a staff member, then I assure

Descritive Essay.pdf

  • 1. Descritive Essay Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself can be a formidable task. The challenge lies in navigating the fine line between self-expression and self-indulgence, painting a vivid picture without veering into narcissism. It demands a delicate balance between introspection and objectivity, requiring the author to delve deep into their experiences and personality while maintaining a sense of detachment. The difficulty intensifies as one grapples with the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and embracing a unique perspective. Describing oneself without resorting to overused phrases can be akin to walking on a tightrope—tricky and requiring constant adjustments. Striking the right tone is crucial; an essay that is too self-aggrandizing may come off as arrogant, while one that is excessively modest might fail to capture the essence of the individual. Moreover, there's the struggle to find the right words, metaphors, and anecdotes that effectively convey one's identity. It's not just about listing achievements or traits; it's about weaving them into a narrative that captivates the reader. This demands a level of introspection that can be both enlightening and challenging. In the end, a self-descriptive essay is a nuanced dance between self-awareness and humility, creativity and authenticity. It is a journey of self-discovery through the written word, where every sentence is a brushstroke on the canvas of one's personality. For those seeking assistance with such endeavors, there are resources available. Similar essays and more comprehensive writing services can be accessed through platforms like HelpWriting.net. These services offer tailored assistance, ensuring that the unique essence of an individual is captured eloquently and professionally in the written form. Descritive Essay Descritive Essay
  • 2. African American Great Migration The African American Great Migration and beyond by Stewart E. Tolnay and All the Nations under Heaven, An Ethnic and Racial History of New York City by Frederick M. Binder are about the migration of blacks in the first reading and the migration of Jews in the second reading and the cause of the migration and the aftermath. The American Great Migration and beyond talks about the Great migration of blacks from the South to the North. Many blacks migrated to the North for a better life and for more opportunities. They wanted to escape segregation and racism that Jim Crow imposed in the South so they decided to migrate to the North. Against this challenging backdrop, migrants attempted to find a place in the northern economy that would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One difference is that many Jews upon arrival were employed in clothing industry, some were metal workers, food industry worker, machine, building and furnishing workers. But this was not the case for the blacks upon their arrival they were not immediately employed. They had hard time finding a place to live let alone finding a job. However one similarity that I found is that both parties had to deal with racism. Jews faced anti semitism in the late nineteenth century and the blacks faced segregation and discrimination. Another thing similar is poverty, both groups dealt with poverty. This relates to current issue and that is poverty. Poverty is still a big factor in the United States and unemployment and income inequality are the main causes of poverty. Of those in poverty many are African Americanand Latinos. They do not have access to healthcare. Those that work are not payed as good as someone from another race and the chance of hiring them is very small. Black or Hispanic do not receive equal payment and are not treated equal even now. They are not discriminated openly but discrimination is still there in education and job. Many educated blacks and Hispanics are not given the equal opportunity. So it just impossible for them to come out of this unequal system and be treated as
  • 3. Similarities Between Parliamentary And Presidential System Michaela Ottenberg 12/17/17 Part C: Compare Contrast Paper While democracies can flourish in both presidential and parliamentary systems of government, parliamentary systems have a special advantage to the US system because of their multiparty nature. With the growth of party polarization in the United States, the two party model is not able to properly support a presidential system. Thus, the United States could learn from multiparty parliamentary systems. While multiparty systems can create issues, especially because a group can wield a great deal of authority without a simple majority, parliamentary systems still lend themselves to stronger leadership. For instance, presidential systems can attract political outsiders with little experience in governance. Parliamentary systems foster leadership that tends, on average, to have more experience and thus stronger leadership. When comparing parliamentary and presidential systems, depending on the nation state, the two systems can have a lot of similarities. This paper will explore the similarities and differences between Ireland s parliamentary republic and America s presidential system. Both Ireland and the United States have a president; however, in Ireland the President serves a 7 year term and is the head of their lawmaking body, the House of Oireachtas (Barrington 103). Like the United States Congress, the House of Oireachtas is a bicameral legislative body, meaning that it is made up of two chambers: the Dail and the
  • 4. Image Trend Report As I ve continued to advance in my career as a firefighter/EMT I ve begun to notice the amount of writing that correlates with emergency services. Arguably the most important thing secondary to treatment is report writing. For the past year I have been volunteering in Goochland County and am soon to be an AIC/primary care provider on an ambulance. Throughout the process I have noticed how crucial documentation is by leading patient treatment and handling incident reports. This paperis to inform myself and readers about the topic of writingwithin the field of EMS based on the questions I have asked EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters. Currently I am enrolled in the Fire Science program at J. Sargent Reynolds. Writing courses required for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Details in the documentation should make the provider remember the call several years down the line so narratives should have differences (Winnie Dunn). Many times the patient narrative will be challenged in court if a provider is sued and can end up being their saving grace . In most cases there is little time to complete Image Trend reports. EMT Intermediate Kaylynn Albertson states, Richmond Ambulance Authority implements a maximum of an 8 minute response time, 10 minutes for being on scene, 10 minutes for transporting to the hospital, and 20 for finishing your reports and marking back in service. The most challenging part are those last 20 minutes. From writing this essay I have discovered that I am on the write track to progress in my line of work. The main points I received from my contacts were to continue writing reports because the repetition increases proficiency, take classes on technical or general writing, read other s reports. and, especially stressed by my EMT instructor is that today someone will call 911 for the first time, the last time, or the only time. Don t we owe them our best? (Winnie

The main character of Gregory House, a doctor at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, was written based off of the infamous Sherlock Holmes. House is a genius doctor who specializes in medical mysteries. During the span of 8 seasons, House, who is accompanied by a varying team of other doctors, go in search of mysterious unsolved and undiagnosed medical cases. House only takes cases of interest in pursuit not for wealth or fame, but for his own intellectual stimulation. House contains a prickly, rude, and sarcastic personality. This inferiority complex that House has is to help compensate for years of constant bullying and loneliness because of everyone s jealousy due to how bright he is. Growing up as a so called army brat , House felt a lack of security because of his father s nearly abusive punishments. He contributed greatly to the different areas of mathematics like linear algebra, calculus, and number theory. However, his mother intervened and sent him to school when he was seven. His teacher, BГјttner, was a cold hearted teacher who loved proving to his students how ignorant they were (Bell 221). At the age of ten, Gauss discovered a formula that would change his future forever. BГјttner asked his students to add up the numbers between one and a hundred. He figured this would keep his students busy all day. However, Gauss noticed a pattern. Without anyone showing him the formula [n(n+1)]/2, Gauss derived it and solved the problem quickly (Burton 510). BГјttner was so impressed by this that he bought Gauss a math book and had his assistant, Johann Bartels, work with the young boy (Bell 222). The friendship that developed between Bartels and Gauss led Bartels to introduce Gauss to Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand, the Duke of Brunswick (Bell 224). Images of single people in books, movies, and television tend to portray one of two stereotypes: either lonely single people leading a miserable existence, or hip, stylish single people leading the perfect urban life. In reality, of course, single hood can intertwine both realities, and neither. It can be hard to be single in a couplist world, where everything from dinner party invitations to tables in restaurants are designed for people in pairs. In System Analysis more emphasis is given to understanding the details of an existing system or a proposed one and then deciding whether the proposed system is desirable or not and whether the existing system needs improvements. Thus, system analysis is the process of investigating a system, identifying problems, and using the information to recommend improvements to the system. System design is the process of planning a new business system or one to replace or complement an existing system. Analysis specifies what the system should do. Design states how to accomplish the objective. After the proposed system is analyzed and designed, the actual implementation of the system occurs. After implementation, working system is available and it requires timely maintenance. In the Western tradition, primarily in the United States where Christianity prevails, the story of creation from Genesis is held in high regard, and controversies have erupted disputing whether or not its fundamentals should be taught in school. For example, we usually say the kid is not paying attention , but how can we measure that? or even more difficult, how can we be sure he/she is not paying attention?. In this case, first, we need to describe the variables and, in that order we can measure the behaviors in terms of duration, frequency, latency , and intensity. This will give us a better understanding of the behavior and will help us to create an objective intervention
  • 28. Fatah Conflict Essay Hamas Fatah Conflict: The conflict between Hamas and Fatah lasted for four years despite of several attempts by the two groups to put their differences aside. In addition to being known as the struggle for Palestine, the Hamas vs. Fatah rift led to various concerns on the possibility of having a Palestinian civil war. This is primarily because it was a major struggle that was described as the biggest internal disagreement in Palestinian history. The conflict between Hamas and Fatah is a rift between Islamism and nationalism respectively. Moreover, this rift is also a struggle between two organizations that want the benefits of leadership i.e. power, money, and prestige (Rubin, 2006). The struggle started after Hamas won majority of the seats in the January 2006 democratic elections and revolved around the control of Palestinian territories. However, this struggle became intensely personal after Israel s 22 day war of Gaza. Palestine conducted elections in three stages i.e. municipal, parliamentary, and presidential elections in late 2005 and early 2006. Through candidates that were vying as either independent or on behalf of Hamas, the group won all municipal seats in the entire West Bank and Gaza (Zalman, n.d.). As a major surprise to the whole world, Hamas obtained the right to form the government after winning 76 of 132 parliamentary seats. In response to Hamas surprise victory, there was anxiety among Israel and American leaders. Consequently, Israel declined to

They can grow to be 7.25 to 8 feet tall and can weigh around 900 to 1,600 pounds. • 30. The Indian Judicial System The Indian Judicial System has always been vigilant about the rights of children for they are the most valuable assets of the nation. It goes as a fact that development of children in a society and the development of nation as a whole go hand in hand and the most potent role in achieving such development is played by Education. Keeping this in mind, the India Judiciary emerges as a sign of commitment towards eradication of poverty and illiteracy from the country. The emergence of Right to Education as a Fundamental Right still has been an elusive goal had Judiciary not stepped in. The commendable role of judiciary in elevating the status of Right to Education from a Directive Principle to a Fundamental Right can be traced through a catena of cases. In the year 1993, Supreme Court turned the wheel of education the Supreme Court through its tendency towards broad and normative enunciations of positive rights. The best illustration of this trend can be traced in the famous Mohini Jain s case and Unnikrishnan s case wherein the Supreme Court ruled that Article 45 in Part IV has to be read in harmonious construction with Article 21 (Right to Life) in Part III of the Constitution, as Right to Life loses its significance without education. The apex Court made the following powerful interpretation: It is thus well established by the decisions of this Court that the provisions of Part III and IV are supplementary and complementary to each other and that fundamental rights are

Italians and French learned of their techniques and were fascinated by using both ice and salt to freeze mixtures and keep them cold. Later on ice houses were being made as kind of their version of a refrigerator. This way people were able to have ice year
  • 32. Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola Essay At a time when humanist thinkers occupied themselves with determining man s position in the world, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, in the 15th century Oration on the Dignity of Man, asserted that man is master of both his dignity and destiny, and there was no limit to what scientists may achieve as long as they glorify God in the end. World history teaches that, though scientists might begin research with the intent of glorifying God , the rush to advance in scienceand technology and the fever to uncover the wonders of nature result in hubris and the abandonment of God and the subsequent exaltation of human beings God like properties. Scientists throughout the centuries have held differing opinions about the limits humans should impose on science: whereas Pico della Mirandolabelieved science was to be used for the glorification of God, but never for the imposition of man on God s will; Sir Francis Bacon, writing 150 years later, believed that any scientific experimentation or means which justified the end goal of human perfection were acceptable, even if they interfered with God s creations. They have different reasons for wanting to come to America, whether it is for jobs, the policies and laws of the United States, the economy, or even refugees from countries which are going through a civil war. There are many different opinions on immigration and what to do with illegal immigrants. Many citizens believe that taxes increase due to illegal immigrants who use federal programs, like welfare. Others believe there are many who come to America who are dangerous, in gangs, and cause crime and poverty. And still others believe that we have laws in place to take care of illegal immigration, however, the country does not enforce those laws. Donald Trump said he was going to build a wall between the United States and Mexico when elected president. Not only was he going to build a wall but he was going to have Mexico pay for it ( COMPELLING MEXICO TO PAY FOR THE WALL, n.d.). He also promised to deport approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants and have any immigrants who decide to come to the United States to do so legally (LoBianco, 2015). Ultrasound allows the doctor to see inside the uterus and provides much information about the pregnancy (Radiologic Society of North America, 2013). However, some people believe that ultrasound negatively affects the tissues of the body. When ultrasound enters the body, it heats the tissues slightly. In some cases, it can also produce small pockets of gas in body fluids or tissues known as cavitation, (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2014). Some also believe that the force of acoustic streaming during an ultrasound can cause fetal damage. While the effect of this force is not fully understood, research suggests that it may change cell permeability and have adverse effects on both early and late prenatal and postnatal development (Kresser, 2011). So no matter what procedure is being performed, there are always risks and benefits involved. Although, most pregnant women are worried about the potential risks of their unborn child, they are more worried about how their child is developing inside their womb. Most pregnant women look forward to these exams so they can be aware of their unborn child s growth and prepare if any abnormalities are

This theory that environmentally induced changes to an organism s physical or biochemical traits could be passed on to its offspring was the main tenet in Lamarck s work during the early 1800s. It was accepted by most biologists during Lamarck s time, until the work of Darwin on evolution by natural selection in the mid 1800s and the discovery of Mendel s work on heredity in the early 1900s lead most biologists to discount Lamarck s theory. However, in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Soviet scientist, Medvedev, argues that the dominance of Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union was caused by the classification of science as bourgeois or proletarian, the government s aim to increase agricultural production, the censorship in the press, the isolation of Soviet scientists, and the Soviet s centralization of science (247 252). Joravsky, an American scholar, discounts Medvedev s argument on the influence of Marxist theory and emphasizes Lysenko s appeal to improving collectivized agriculture (The Lysenko Affair 228). Soyfer, a recent Russian scientist, adds that Lysenko s appeal to Stalin s personal interests and views may have caused his popularity with the state (Lysenko and the Tragedy of Soviet Science 202). However, these scholars focus on the forces operating within the Soviet Union, and give little consideration to the larger Cold Warclimate. The rhetoric of Lysenko s speech and other texts produced during the time shows that the Cold War had a profound influence on how ideas were interpreted. The Cold War environment may have motivated the Soviet state to support Lysenko s theory because it conflicted at a fundamental level with the biological theory accepted in America and promised to propagate nationalist pride by

In studying Jonathan Swift s poetry, I have been instantly drawn to his series of Stella s Birthday poems, one of which was written every year from 1719 until the death of their subject, and in this essay I will be examining how Swift has represented women and femininity in these poems, and several more of his works. My aim will be to ascertain this by examining his works in detail, and looking at what motivated Swift to represent women in the way he did, through looking both at the culture and literature at the time, and his own life and influences. Swift never married, although Stella, whose real name was Esther Johnson was thought to be his dearest, most intimate companion , and it was alleged, although never proved, that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These strongly favourable sentiments are echoed in another poem, Stella s Birthday March 13, 1719, a much shorter work which is, although again consistent in tribute to its subject, contains a more jovial, humorous element than the later poems dedicated to her. It opens with the lines; Stella this day is thirty four, (We shan t dispute a year or more:) However, Stella, be not troubled, Although thy size and years are doubled. This is an entirely more amusing and light hearted verse than Stella s Birthday March 13, 1727, and this echoes the entire poem in that whilst it is forward in its flattery, it is approached in an entirely different manner. In this poem Swift focuses more on Stella at a superficial level; here women are represented as objects of beauty, which contrasts with the paragon of virtue and patience under torturing pain she is portrayed as in his later poem. Swift writes here in a style reminiscent of Shakespeare s Sonnets, for example Sonnet XVIII, where the lady in question is compared to the weather and called an eternal summer. In Swift s work Stella is similarly elevated; he declares that even if she is split in two, No age could furnish out a pair, Of nymphs so graceful, wise, and fair; With half the lustre of your eyes. This is a profound and grandiose

He wanted to show people what was really going on in the factory because few people were informed about these companies work conditions . He wanted to show the public that meat was diseased, rotten, and contaminated. This revelation shocked the public which later led to the creation of the federal laws on food and safety. I have thought plenty of times in the past that I didn t want to go on the tripit was boring, but I was wrong and this is why. My first favorite school memory was in eighth grade. I was in chorus and we were going on a trip to Massachusetts with the band for a competition. I was super excited and couldn t wait to sell all of my tickets. When the day finally came I was so excited. We rode in a coach bus which was really cool because I ve never been in one before. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up since I had never done that before. When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our tickets to get into Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to Agawam, Massachusetts where Six Flags was located. As we got closer and closer there were flags on the side of the road leading us there and my anticipation grew even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there. Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun. I was really excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the park. There were no close parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to the back parking lot and walk up to the entrance. Once I walked into the park it was so much bigger than any I expected. All the roller coasters were huge. I didn t get to go on any because everyone would ask me to hold their stuff but a couple things I did go on were the bumper cars, a water slide, a boat ride and I played some mini games. Those were fun enough for me but if I ever go back again I am going to try the roller coasters. The water slide was really fun. All you had to do was go up a ramp inside a tube and the ramp would push you down the slide while water was being splashed at

One of the solution to protect the information is Cryptography, which is the focus of this paper. Cryptography is a science that transforms information into secure form by providing basic protections. These protections include confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Authentication, and Nonrepudiation (Ciampa 189). Let s understand the characteristics of information and their description (see table 1). The term Cryptography was originated from Greek. In Greek Crypto means hidden and grapy means writing. Simply, cryptography means scrambling data so that it cannot be read or access by an unauthorized person. The ancient cryptographer Julius Caesar sent messages to his commanders by shifting each letter in his message to three places down in the alphabet. A was replaced by D, B was replaced by E and so on (Ciampa 186). This method of changing the original text into a secret message is called encryption and retrieving back to the original form is called decryption. The clear plaintext is given as input to the cryptographic algorithm. According to Stallings cryptographic algorithms consists of mathematical functions which are used to encrypt and decrypt the data (44). A key is a mathematical value which
