Comparing Cuckoo And Can T Help Falling In Love
The two songs that I will be analyzing have many differences that I have come across while
analyzing. The first song is an Austrian folk song called Cuckoo . You can tell this is a folk
song from the vivid story telling in the lyrics that lead to a yodel. The second song is an
American pop song called Can t Help Falling in Love which was written by George David Weiss,
Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore and made most famous by Elvis Presley for the album/soundtrack
Blue Hawaii in 1961. The main similarity between these two songs is that they have certain
rhythms that get repeated multiple times. The two songs have different time signatures. Cuckoo
has a compound meter with short and quick notes whereas Can t Help Falling in Love has a simple
meter with more long notes. The folk songhas a narrow melodic range that stays in a single octave
from D4 to D5 and is diatonic. There is no clear climax to this song and has more of a disjunct
motion by having at least one leap in every other measure. The melodic contour of this song is
pretty repetitive for the most part. Each measure is in an arch motion which would make every
phrase more like a wave. The song also does not shy away from repetition. Almost every measure is
either repeated or has a variation of it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no clear climax to the song but it has a conjunct motion throughout it because of the very
few and spread out leaps. There is a fair amount of variation going on in this song but it also has a
lot of repetition. The entire first verses rhythm is variated and every other measure has the same
rhythm within it. After the chorus, the next three measures are all repeated and then the rhythm of
the chorus is used again. Most measures in the song are either ascending or descending. The
overall mood of this song is a happy one because it is diatonic and the repetition even though it has

Compare And Contrast The Liberal And Conservative Views On...
My philosophical viewpoint on the political parties can closely relate to both Liberal, and
Conservative. I will explain why I compare myself to both parties, and explain my views on
controversial topics. Liberalism part of the left wing of politics and the opposite of
conservative, Liberals have more tolerance for change, while conservatives would like to stick
with tradition attitude, values, and more so relates to politics rather than social reform. First and
most importantly gun control is an extremely popular topic as of right now with all the
shootings going on. Liberals protest that citizens should not have the right to keep and bear arms
because of all the shootings going on, while conservatives think that everyone with credibility
should be able to own a gun and protect himself or herself, and I completely agree with that. If
we as a whole make owning a gun illegal, not only will it start a big outrage across the country
and probably cause more destruction and death, but also it will also not help. For example drugs,
they are illegal but anyone can get it, and guns are much... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, conservatives are opposed of gay marriage, and abortion while liberals are not
opposed to it, this is where a lot of the conflict starts because some people think that it is
unconstitutional. Another big topic would be free health care, my personal opinion about this
is as said, the price of health care should go down for families who can t afford it but I think we
should at least keep the price slightly the same for capable families that way we can at least pay
for the technology to keep our medical field moving on and pay the doctors for their delicate
work in the field, without doctors we wouldn t have made it this far and they save lives daily, this

Essay about Violence in Greasy Lake and The Things They...
Both Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried and T. Coraghessan Boyle s Greasy Lake display
characters similar reactions to violence, but in different settings and circumstances. In The Things
They Carried, Fist Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a soldier in the Vietnam War who finds solace and
escape in fantasies of a young woman from home. One of Cross s soldiers dies due to his
daydreaming and forces him to abandon these fantasies. In Greasy Lake, the main characterfinds
enjoyment in picking fights and breaking the law. A late night tussle leads to encounter with a dead
body, causing the main character to reflect upon his wild lifestyle. Both stories show a coming to
maturity through violence, though in different forms. In The... Show more content on

He couldn t help it (O Brien 630). Surrounded by a world a war and violence, these daydreams
are the only escape Lieutenant Cross has and he embraces them fully. When faced with
violence, the main character from Greasy Lake not only accepts it, but encourages it. Upon the
boy s arrival to Greasy Lake, he and his friends mistakenly hassle a stranger and his girlfriend.
Instead of apologizing for the disturbance and trying to reason with the stranger, he and his
friends immediately engage in battle, beating the stranger unconscious. The rage and violence
of this attack does not end here. The main character turns his attention to the stranger s
girlfriend: It was the foxВ… that set us offВ… she was already tainted. We were on herВ…
grabbing for flesh (Boyle 133). The rape does not occur as the boys are chased away by an
approaching vehicle, but the intent of a second violent event was fully present. Every opportunity
for violence encountered by the main character is met with open arms. In The Things They
Carried, violence brings forth an epiphany for First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross. Lieutenant Cross,
while seeking comfort in his imagination, allows one of his men to be shot and killed. His lack of
security led to an unnecessary casualty: [Cross] hated himself. He had loved Martha more than his
men, and as a consequence Lavender was

The World Is Flat, By Thomas L. Friedman
The World Is Flat is a visionary and insightful text written by Thomas L. Friedman. In short, the text
brings about the study of globalization at its forefront. Moreover, Friedman analyzes the evolution
of business and importance of information with respect not only to the 21st century, but with
regards to the history of trade as we know it. It is from this study and understanding that Friedman
engages in a detailed thought process as to how an institution, government, or individual can remain
competitive in such a progressive environment. In summary, through engaging in the fifteen
chapters and recalling the historical events used as evidence, one may arrive at more substantial
conclusion as to how certain entities will remain ahead of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To explain with an example, Friedman gives the reader a story, stating when I was growing up,
my parents told me, Finish your dinner. People in China and India are starving. I tell my
daughters, Finish your homework. People in India and China are starving for your job (270).
Apparent in this personal example is the presence of two critical arguments of the text. First and
foremost, the quote draws a contrast between two generations and highlights the fact that they are
in some respects, exponentially different. Thus, Friedman is able to reinforce his claims of how
rapidly changing the world truly is. Secondly, he uses this example of drastic change occurring
from one generation to the next to reference on of the driving forces or catalysts. To clarify, the
reference to China and India s population as eager for a job opportunity indirectly reemphasizes the
effects of the spread of information as well as the strength of outsourcing. From this quote, the
reader gathers that individuals outside of their home state have the ability to do their job and will
do so without ever having to step into their country. Again, Friedman puts into context the vast
contribution that the web and other information sharing technologies have given the globe.
Although there are more detailed explanations and relevant evidence, this quote serves as a fairly
strong summary of Friedman s arguments in the first half of the text. Whereas the first half of
Friedman s work aims to

The Sports Medicine Field
Poet Marguerite Murer once said, A critical role in athletics I do play; Without me there would be
no game today. Sports medicine professionals and football players go hand and hand. Without
Sports Medicine professionals, football players could not perform their job. Without Sports
Medicine professionals, there would not be as many healthy athletes, as coaches and players would
have greater opportunities to abuse recovery, causing players to ultimately get injured even further.
Over time, research in the Sports Medicinefield, especially pertaining to concussions, has improved
the overall health and injuryrecovery of football players. Research has not only provided more
insight into these type of injuries but has also allowed for advancements in the recovery process.
Along with increasing awareness during the recovery process following an injury, research has also
been applied to the development and improvement of equipment in an effort to prevent injuries
before they occur.
The Sports Medicine field focuses on helping athletes improve their athletic performance, recover
from injury, and prevent future injuries. This fast growing healthcare field affords healthcare
workers who specialize in Sports Medicine the opportunity to help many non athletes as well as
athletes. In order to be seen and treated by a Sports Medicine physician, the patient is not required
to be any type of athlete. Sports Medicine professionals treat people who participate in sports for

Introduction:
This commentary is for the purpose of discussing the back story of Ms. Holmes s personal stake
and the related accounting implications.
Theranos Inc. (Theranos or the Company) is a privately held health technology company based
in Palo Alto, California. The Company is well known for the marketing effort on the blood tests
technology. Ms. Holmes, founder and CEO of Theranos, became a youngest self made female
billionaire in the world due to a $9 billion valuation of Theranos in 2015. However, in 2016, the
blood tests technology has been criticized for not being scientifically peer reviewed. In exchange

Section 83 (b) is only permissible for AMT purposes but not ordinary income tax purposes. 1 (IRS
gave the final ISO regulations in 2004. 2) With the early exercise option, Ms. Holmes would receive
back restricted stocks with the same vesting schedule as the original option. If Ms. Holmes
meets both ISO holding periods, she will pay tax on the entire spread between the sale price and
the exercise as long term capital gain. If a disqualifying disposition occurs, by making the election
of Section 83 (b) within 30 days following exercise, Ms. Holmes would benefit from reducing AMT
income.
However, Ms. Holmes still has a risk of losing money if she exercised the ISO early and the
stock price decreases. Smart as Ms. Holmes is, she set up an agreement with the Company to
exercise the options without having to pay upfront. When the stock price goes down, Ms. Holmes
can simply return the shares. By doing so, Ms. Holmes successfully avoids the risk from the
declining of the stock price.
In conclusion, Ms. Holmes was trying to reduce the tax obligation when the stock price goes up
and to avoid loss when the stock price goes down.
Issue:
What are the accounting implications of this transaction?
Analysis and Conclusion:
The Company issued Ms. Holmes ISOs. ISOs ordinarily do not result in a tax deduction for

However, as recently as the 1970s, some governments and firms saw international marketing as an
optional extra of minor importance. International business was typically considered a field reserved
for a few trading companies and specialists. Other firms were content to focus on their domestic
markets and disregarded international dimensions.
Conditions have changed. Global trade has rapidly increased in both volume and value, reaching
nowadays more than $4 trillion in 1997 (Daniels J.D., Radebaugh, 1998, pg. 529). Competition is
fierce from all corners of the world. Failure at the global level can backfire and may consume
existing brands and business relationships. At the same time, global opportunities have emerged
that offer possibilities for growth, profit, and an improvement in worldwide standards of living.
Today, firms have to deal with a global marketplace; marketers have no other choice. Participation in
global marketing has begun to shift from a mere option to an imperative. The world is becoming
more homogeneous. Distinctions between national markets

focusing on the provision of services to the passengers through integration of quality and affordable
pricing mechanism. Some of the services by Flight Centre to its consumers include holiday
packages, cruises, accommodation, car hire, and insurance. The main objective of the organization

management decisions of the organization.
External Factors
Political
The performance as well as stability of the government in relation to the policies influencing
business has great implications on the operations of Flight Centre Organization in the case of
Australia. For instance, in the case of 2000, the introduction of tax on services and products
affected the operations of Flight Centre because of incorporation of the tax of about 10 percent in
their prices. This is critical in the determination of new pricing mechanisms with the aim of
enhancing revenues and profits at the end of the financial year. Instability reduces the operations of
the organization due to insecurity of the passengers and investors as they seek to address and

12 Year a Slave Essay
Twelve Years A Slave Essay During a time of cruel punishment and harsh conditions of life as a
slave in the 19th century South, there was a book that shed a light on the life of a slave
unparalleled in past as well as in modern literature. That book was entitled Twelve Years a Slave
by Solomon Northup. Northup was born a freeman that was obtained from his father after being
freed by the Northup family due to loyal service. Growing up in the free state of New York,
Solomon was allowed an education that was rare because of the sad disposition of the majority of
his race. Solomon gained much knowledge of industry and hard work from his father. As a free

Northup and others were to be shipped to New Orleans. New Orleans had the biggest slave
market in the South. It was a place no slave ever wanted to encounter. Before arriving in New
Orleans, they made frequent stops at other slave pens to resupply goods and acquire more
slaves. Escape always came to mind while on the ship but never came to fruition, as opportunity
was lost. Arriving in New Orleans Northup was given the name Platt and placed in another slave
pen similar to that in Washington. While in the pen they were to be kept in a presentable
manner, washed, shaved and dressed in a cheap suit everyday. Slaves were instructed in moving
to their spots and looking smart . Each slave was to stand in their spot while potential buyers
viewed and analyzed them thoroughly. Northup became well known for his violin skills, so
much so that Freeman was able to exploit such skills in pricing. However, after being exposed to
small pox earlier from another slave, Northup got deathly ill and was rushed to the hospital,
decreasing his value. Though still weak, he returned to the slave pen where he was sold to Mr.
William Ford. Many different masters owned Northup, but two to be discussed are William Ford
and Edwin Epps. William Ford, a future Baptist preacher and owner of a lumberyard, purchased
Northup in the New Orleans. Ford lived in the Great Pine Woods of Avoyelles Parish by the

Essay On Open Source Software
6 Benefits to Using Open Source Software as a Small Business
Small businesses have to be smart with their money. Your resources are limited and you can t afford
to spend a lot of time testing and trialling different technologies. However, surviving in the modern
world without technology is nearly impossible. Therefore, small businesses must be able to latch on
to any opportunity they find and make the most of software around them. For this, open source
software is the best possible option.
But what is open source software and how can a small business benefit from it?
Open source software in a nutshell

software which is distributed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Reliable and secure
Open source software also has a reputation of being secure and reliable. Because the source code is
under constant public scrutiny, the quality of development remains high and problems in the code
tend to get fixed fast. Thousands of developers test the code continuously, meaning that any
performance or security related problems get resolved quickly.
3. Transparency
Related the above point is the transparency you can enjoy with open source software. Since the
source code is available for anyone to see, you don t have to worry about hidden features that
might put your small business information at risk. If you use traditional software, you essentially
need to trust the vendor s word you have no way of knowing what the code will actually do or the
information it gathers. With the public source code, you are always able to check exactly what the
software does and what this means to your data.
4. Flexible
Since you are free to change, tweak and use the open source software as you please, it gives a lot
of flexibility to small businesses. You don t need to worry about the vendor changing terms of use
or adding new elements to the software that you don t want to use. Furthermore, there is no fear of
the vendor withdrawing support from the software and thus creating a problem for your small
business. Your business is free to use the product and due to the near zero initial set up cost, you
are flexible to change to another software if you want

Pump And Treat
Throughout the past few years, Fruitvale has been experiencing a severe water crisis. The banned
pesticide No Bug contaminated the north end of Fruitvale. Recently, the contaminate has been
spreading near the Fruitvale Municipal Water Well. If the water well gets contaminated, Fruitvale
would be without a reliable, clean water source. A common and safe method for contaminated water
clean up is Pump and Treat. Pump and Treat pumps groundwater from the effected wells to an
above ground treatment system. From there, the treatment system removes and contains the
contaminate plume. Containing the plume keeps the contaminate from spreading and lowering the
future possibility of causing more problems for Fruitvale. This method is time sparing and safe.
Pump and Treat is estimated to be completed in 6 to 9 months. Also, from containing the plume, no
wildlife habitats, rivers or lakes, or drinking watersources would be effected by the contaminate.
Throughout this method no harmful exposure to wildlife or humans will occur. Pump and Treat
also is a popular method. It has been selected or used by more than 800 Superfund sites across

Role of Fate in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Role of Fate in Romeo and Juliet Who would think that fate and destiny would play a big role in
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet? Fate is the belief that an individual s life is being decided for
them and there is nothing they can do to change it. Based on Dictionary.com definition, fate is
something that unavoidably befalls a person . However, in this play, Romeo and Juliet, fate is a
reality. It seems like a constant happening and is always creating trouble especially between the
Capulets and Montagues. The idea of fate works on several stages. Shakespeare chooses Romeo
and Juliet from two families that are against each other, and there is nothing these two lovers
can do about this. We can see many examples of fate through the play that are as follows: One of
the first examples of the fate in Romeo and Juliet is before the play begins. The Prologue points
out that there is fate between Romeo and Juliet. It mentions them as star crossed lovers and their
love as death marked that implies they have no control over what is going to happen. Audiences
can clear imply that their love will change to a tragedy. The second fated event is when Peter, a
Capulet servant, reach Romeo to ask to assist him in reading the list of the guests to Capulet s
feast. As Romeo reads the list, he notices that his first love, Rosaline, will be attending the feast.
Fate brought Peter to ask Romeo for help which resulted in Romeo seeing Rosaline s name, going to
the party, meeting Juliet,

ELA shift kits. I was also curious as to overall knowledge of our school s focus on literacy and our
student s literacy needs. Therefore, I created a needs assessment to collect this information. I
distributed to the needs assessment to our high school teachers and staff, which is twenty three total
members, not including myself. These members consist of eighteen teachers, two classroom aides,
one guidance counselor, and two building administrators. The needs assessment consists of eleven
total questions. The first nine questions employed a rating scale of 1 through 5. Question ten asked
participants to choose one of the nine ELA shift kits on which they d like to receive more
information. Finally, question eleven asked teachers to rate our school s progress on creating

How Would You Compare The Relationship Between Witherite...
1.Witherite, and barite. If we compare the relationship between the weight and the size of the
mineral, these two have 2.Aragonite, Malachite, Calcite, and Witherite. 3.The different color of
the copper carbonates is due to the change in the oxidation. Malachite represents a later stage of
oxidation and the increased oxidation is what causes the color change. These minerals occur in
near surface in hydrothermal sulfide deposits, so they are found with chalcopyrite. 4.Evaporite

The Pros And Cons Of Biomass
There are many different types of renewable resources. There s wind, solar and many more.
Today we are going to talk about one of the many renewable resources. The renewable resource is
called Biomass. So let s dive into the amazing renewable resource called Biomass.
Biomass is an organic matter that comes from plants and also from animals and it is also a
renewable energy source. Biomass can also be used as a facility heating, Electric power generation,
and combined heat and power. Using Biomass is Burning, Fermentation, and Conversion. Reason
why Biomass is a renewable source cause supplies aren t limited. And biomass reduce dependence
on foreign oil cause biofuels is the only renewable liquid.
Biomass contains stored from the sun and plants absorbs the sun s energy in process is called
photosynthesis. When the Biomass is burn the chemical energy it releases as heats. The percent
of fuel of biomass contains about 5% for this time of year. Mostly researcher are trying to find
more ways to contain more biomass fuel for years. For this year wood has the largest amount of
biomass energy resources stored today but some other natural resources can be stored as well.
And also biomass has the potential to greatly reduce greenhouse gas emission. There are some
pros of biomass, but there are also some cons of biomass. One pro of biomass is the fact that it is a
renewable energy. It s renewable by converting one year s crop into fuel, and while you are doing
that,

Short Summary Of Nelson Mandela s Long Walk On Freedom
Elon Fiol
May 13, 2015 Long Walk to Freedom
I hate race discrimination most intensely and in all its manifestations. I have fought it all during
my life; I fight it now, and will do so until the end of my days. Nelson Mandela. He was birthed
into greatness and it is safe to say that he was a publicly acclaimed leader for his great efforts
during the Apartheid in South Africa. Many would identify a leader in many ways but, the most
important aspect of leadership is to go against the circumstances and make a difference. Mandela
s childhood experiences and life after helped shaped his beliefs and values that would label him
the man he became to be. In terms of culture and other aspects that would influence a child s life,
there is a correlation between childhood experiences and the kind of person we grow up to be.
In order to understand Mandela s life, we have to examine the content of his childhood
surroundings and his personal way of being. His life through trial and error would create a
legacy to learn from for many generations to come. He had passion for the fight against racial
oppression and rights of the people in South Africa but, his views and morals resonate with
people all over the world. Racial oppression exist in the most richest and poorest parts of the
world and is an ideology that has been deeply rooted since the beginning of time. It is people like
Nelson Mandela that put aside their own differences to represent the people of

Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Essay
Hello, my name is Valerie Faris, and I am one of the co directors (along with Jonathan Dayton) of
the film, Little Miss Sunshine . When making this film, my co director and I heavily aimed to
portray the different ways we as human beings search to find our place in the world. We focused on
the conception of building relationships and trust within the concept of a family. We wanted to
convey the concept that when it comes to family, its never too late to re connect and belong.
Our film follows an extended family on their journey from New Mexico to California, as young
daughter Olive prepares to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.
In the beginning of the film, each member of the family feels isolated from one another, ... Show

All it takes is Olives small hand upon his shoulder and he starts to calm down. This conveys that
although he does not feel a connection to anyone else around him, he will always feel one to
Olive, and it reminds him that he is on this trip for her. By dressing her in red, we also highlighted
her determination to win the Little miss sunshine contest and to make her appear more vulnerable
to the harsh treatment by the girls at the pageant, to which physically, she does not belong.
This use of colour continues throughout the film, with the bright yellow VW bus, which acted as a
motif. We used the colour yellow to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism, symbolising the
families journey of re connecting, of hope, and to reinforce the individual versus the collective
action working together for a change rather then separating themselves as individuals. We chose the
ridiculous loud and irreparable car horn to symbolise and reinforce the dysfunction of the family,
and convey the initial lack of connection.
Portrayal of the progress of the family was very important, and the van was used to symbolise this.
It started to break down just as the family was at its peak of frustration, however when they all
worked together to give it a pushing start, the van was able to continue on its journey. This
highlighted their restoring sense

Daubert Standards Case Study
After reading the articles, I believe the Daubert standard is the best standard for Florida to move
forward with. While Frye standard and Rule 702 do have qualifications that need to be met for
expert testimony to be used, Daubert standard has in my opinion the best qualification standards
that must be met for expert testimony to be used.
Based on the articles, for expert testimony to go through in the court all a witness needed using the
Frye standard was have whatever technique, principle, or procedure be generally accepted in the
scientific community. I do not feel like this is enough qualifications in any scientific field
especially in the field of forensic science. The procedure or technique used needs to be proved
reliable and can give consistent results, not just be accepted by the community. Also, with the
Frye standard no one is checking and reviewing the witness procedure or technique to see if it s
reliable, accurate, or the error rate for it. It seems the courts just assumed what is being said or
shown is correct and deemed it expert testimony. The Frye standard was limited in the possibility

Position As A Writer By John Edgar Wideman
Position As a Writer
John Edgar Wideman begins his piece, Our Time, with a description of the world he grew up in.
He takes the reader through the story of his brother, Robby, using a variety of voices and points of
view. In this narration of his brother s life he brings to light his own dilemma with writing the piece.
He uses a variety of voices and points of view to demonstrate the different perspectives of Robby s
story. To contest the ethical dilemma of telling someone else s story without exploiting it, Wideman
addresses the issue head on. By reading Our Time, a writer could learn much from Wideman, and
adopt a number of his methods for different writing styles.
One of Wideman s main writing methods is his use of multiple voices and points of view. This
becomes apparent even in the first page of the text. Wideman introduces his essay with a letter. It
is not addressed to anyone, neither is it signed, but, it is written as if every character in his story
was speaking. The tone is his own, the subject is his brother, Robby, and parts of the letter reveal
advise from Garth and his mother. This presentation of a multi narrative style is present throughout
the essay. It gives the reader a sense of authenticity that cannot be achieved through third person
narration because it places the audience in the mindset of the person speaking. By switching points
of view, Wideman is providing the reader with multiple perceptions of a scenario, giving a different
lens of analysis

Understanding Hate Crime Statutes And Building Towards A...
The topic of hate crime is so controversial because there can be different perspectives on the whole
issue, which can eventually cause a massive huge debate on the entire matter. In Ben Gillis article
called Understanding Hate Crime Statutes and Building Towards a Better System in Texas, the
author separates his points in a way that can give the reader a better way of understanding the Hate
Crimelaws and the effects of it. Gillis s way of dissecting the article is extremely effective due to
the fact that not only he explains what exactly a hate crime is in its basic form but he also
explains hate crime in its entirety, and he also shows how some states adapt to the whole issue.

Now any one can take a jab at what they think a hate crime is but in the article Understanding
Hate Crime Statutes and Building Towards a Better System in Texas the author supports us with
his definition of a what is a hate crime a hate crime, at its basic level is an attack upon the person
or property of an individual motivated by hatred of a characteristic of that person, such as race,
religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity (Gillis 199). Now that the definition gives us
clarity on what exactly labeled onto what exactly is considered a hate crime. For example, did
you know that if someone vandalizes a synagogue and they write something offensive to the
Followers of that particular religion that will be considered a hate crime because of the person
is motivated by hatred towards the Followers (Gillis 199). You may have your own perspective
on a particular group but if you so happen to put your hands on the person to harm them because
of your belief it becomes a hate crime. In its basic form of what is a hate crime Gillis uses the
definition so that the reader aware hate crime criteria. Let us take another article for example, In
opening of Jesse Larner s article Hate Crime/Thought Crime he alluded to a situation where two
Caucasian men decided to go and attack two African American with the intent to do some
serious harm to them. There were no knowledge as to what was motivated them to do so. One
thing for sure according to Larner, Sean Riley Caught up to one of the victims and remorselessly
told her I m going to kill you, you black bitch . Without a doubt it is extremely obvious that hatred
of a specific race was the driving force behind the gruesome actions posed by the two men
especially Mr. Sean Riley. There s no way that the 1st amendment of the United States correlate with

Itp Research Paper
What is ITP? ITP stands for Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura which is a scientific way of
saying the body has an abnormally low number of platelets. These platelets are cells in the blood
that help blood clot. When these cells are present in low numbers excessive bleeding and
bruising often occur. A common symptom is red blotches on the skin that do not blanch. These
spots are caused by bleeding underneath the skin. ITP affects both adults and children. In
children, it is normally a temporary condition. In adults, the condition is often chronic. A
diagnosis of ITP is a process of exclusion as similar symptoms appear in a range of other
conditions including HIV and lupus. Once these conditions are ruled out, treatment begins. The
first step to any sort of treatment is to speak with a physician. Only a doctor is able to diagnose
ITP and specialists often work for years or decades to treat conditions such as ITP. As the condition
is often chronic in adults and potentially life threatening, the most important step to recovery is to

Guilt In Macbeth And Lady Macduff
Most people have, at some time in their life, felt a great sense of guilt. The emotion is an
unforgiving attitude towards oneself, that occurs when a person has violated their moral standard.
Guilt can either destroy one or catapult them into action. This profound emotion is a noteworthy
theme in the tragedy, Macbeth. It dramatically impacts the characters in the Shakespearean play;
they suffer terribly because of their senseless actions. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth, Lady
Macbeth, and Macduff suffer from terrible guilt; however the cause of their remorse and the stages
in which they deal with their emotion differ.

Realism In Frank Capra s Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
Frank Capra s Mr. Smith Goes to Washington develops the themes of idealism, realism, and
cynicism. Idealism is the way of looking for the best in everything and not really seeing the bad.
Realism is the way of looking at things the way they are in the real world. Cynicism is the way
of thinking that no one has any good in them and that the whole world is horrible. Capra s Mr.
Smith Goes to Washington brings out the themes of idealism, realism, and cynicism through the
main characters, Clarissa Saunders, Senator Joseph Paine, and Jefferson Smith. Clarissa

The Effects Of Tobacco Smoking
Although free of nicotine, marijuana smoke certainly pollutes the lungs. And since tobacco
smoking has been linked to respiratory injury, cancer, emphysema, heart disease, complications
of pregnancy, low birth weight, and other ills, it makes sense to worry whether smoking
marijuana might prove equally harmful (Mack and Joy). Marijuana joints have been shown to
deliver at least four times as much tar to the lungs as tobacco cigarettes of equivalent weight.
This difference is due to the lack of filters on joints and because marijuana smokers typically
inhale a larger volume of smoke and take it more deeply into the lungs than tobacco smokers do.
Marijuana smokers also tend to hold smoke in for a time before exhaling, exposing the lungs to
even greater levels of cancer causing agents. Clinical studies suggest that people who smoke
marijuana are more likely to develop respiratory illnesses than are nonsmokers. A survey of
outpatient medical visits at a large health maintenance organization (HMO) found that marijuana
users were more likely to seek help for respiratory illnesses than people who smoked tobacco (Mack
and Joy). While cannabisis harmful to the brain and lungs of the user, it is also harmful to the ones
around the user. It has been shown that the effects of using cannabisare similar to those of alcohol
and benzodiazepines and include slowing of reaction time, motor incoordination, specific defects in
short term memory, difficulty in concentration and particular

How Is Holden Caulfield Crazy
Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye only likes the innocent parts of people. Throughout the
book we are given examples of how Holden has different feelings based on who he is talking to.
Three important characters in the book give three different personalities that add up to the overall
conclusion that Holden is crazy.
Stradlater is one of the most non innocent characters in the story, and we see throughout the book
Holden picking fights with him. He is known to take girls on dates and rape them in the back of
his coaches car. After he takes Holden s childhood friend, Jane, on a date, he refuses to tell Holden
what they did. Holden assumes he tried to rape her and take away her innocence, and immediately
he grows in hatred toward Stradlater. The text says, I told him he didn t care because he was a
goddam stupid moron. He hated it when you called him a moron. All morons hate when you call
them a moron. (50) Holden then gets into a big fight with Stradlater. In the story he calls him, A
dirty stupid sonuvabitch moron. (50) And says, That s just the trouble with all you morons. You
never want to discuss anything. That s the way you can always tell a moron. They never want to
discuss anything. (50) He yells at Stradlater, tries to anger him, and ends up losing in a fight to
him. This is the first time Holden shows hatred toward someone in the story. Someone that has
taken away someone else s innocence. Overall, these pieces from the text give us evidence of

You must keep digging to find diamonds (this might take quite some time) . Once you find

You might now be thinking What s obsidian? . Obsidian is what you need to build the portal.
Now you will need to find or create this substance. To create it, you can pour water on top of lava
with a bucket, and to find it you will have to look near lava. You will need about 12 of these. The
shape of the portal is going to be a rectangle, standing up. On the bottom you will need 4, and then
put 3 blocks on the bottom left and right blocks, then two in between those two at the top.
The portal is not complete, though. You will need flint and steel. To craft this you need flint and
iron. To acquire flint you will need to dig gravel, which is found underground and in caves. After
crafting this, go to your portal and press the left trigger to light it. It should be purple inside of the
rectangle, which means that it worked. To go inside you just have to stand there until you appear in

The Importance Of Chromosomes And Chromosomal Structure
The vast majority of the scientific community is cognizant of the importance of chromosomes and
chromosomal structure in cellular replication and lifespan. One of the most prominent and greatly
researched discoveries of chromosomes has been the telomere and the enzyme telomerase with
which telomeres interact. The term telomere refers to the caps located on the ends of chromosomes
as a form of protection against chromosomal shortening and aging. Telomerase is an enzyme that
aids in the lengthening of telomeres through replenishing TTAGGG ribonucleic repeats that do not
code for particular amino acids and is present in high amounts exclusively in cells such as gametes
or stem cells. These repeats then undergo chromosomal shortening rather than the necessary
ribonucleic acid sequences of DNA. (Yuanjun et al., 2014). Telomerase itself is a highly intricate
enzyme that is capable of interacting with accessory proteins, RNA templates, and the
ribonucleoprotein complex of a catalytic human reverse transcriptase. The human telomerase gene
commonly referred to as hTERT is responsible for activating telomerase and is further regulated by
transcription factors. Copious studies have revealed that aging and other growth crises such as
cancer is telomere length dependent and may be avoided through the increased expression of the
hTERT gene, telomerase activity, and stabilization of telomere length. (Degerman et al., 2011).
Aging is additionally avoided in cells through the negation of

Leadership Styles And Philosophies Of Leadership Essay
Leadership and You Leaders play a crucial role in the society and organizations, especially with
regards to helping the organization achieve its objectives and purposes. These individuals use
varying approaches to leadership that inform their practices in motivating organizational members
towards the accomplishment of common objectives. Through their practices, leaders not only
influence the behaviors of their followers or subordinates but also help in shaping organizational
culture. The use of different leadershipstyles and philosophies is also attributed to the difference in
concept and practices of the leader. Moreover, leaders can improve their effectiveness through
adopting strategies that address the weaknesses of their leadership approaches since every
leadership style or approach has certain weaknesses.

people depending on the context of where the leadership practice takes place. As a result, different
people have different definitions of what leadership is, which generates considerable problems in
attempts to effectively define leadership. From a personal perspective, leadership is a means for
talented individuals to influence others towards common objectives through sharing their
knowledge and perspectives (Mielach, 2013). This is probably the most suitable definition of
leadership given that the basis of leadership is to influence others regardless of

  • 3. Comparing Cuckoo And Can T Help Falling In Love The two songs that I will be analyzing have many differences that I have come across while analyzing. The first song is an Austrian folk song called Cuckoo . You can tell this is a folk song from the vivid story telling in the lyrics that lead to a yodel. The second song is an American pop song called Can t Help Falling in Love which was written by George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore and made most famous by Elvis Presley for the album/soundtrack Blue Hawaii in 1961. The main similarity between these two songs is that they have certain rhythms that get repeated multiple times. The two songs have different time signatures. Cuckoo has a compound meter with short and quick notes whereas Can t Help Falling in Love has a simple meter with more long notes. The folk songhas a narrow melodic range that stays in a single octave from D4 to D5 and is diatonic. There is no clear climax to this song and has more of a disjunct motion by having at least one leap in every other measure. The melodic contour of this song is pretty repetitive for the most part. Each measure is in an arch motion which would make every phrase more like a wave. The song also does not shy away from repetition. Almost every measure is either repeated or has a variation of it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no clear climax to the song but it has a conjunct motion throughout it because of the very few and spread out leaps. There is a fair amount of variation going on in this song but it also has a lot of repetition. The entire first verses rhythm is variated and every other measure has the same rhythm within it. After the chorus, the next three measures are all repeated and then the rhythm of the chorus is used again. Most measures in the song are either ascending or descending. The overall mood of this song is a happy one because it is diatonic and the repetition even though it has a slower ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare And Contrast The Liberal And Conservative Views On... My philosophical viewpoint on the political parties can closely relate to both Liberal, and Conservative. I will explain why I compare myself to both parties, and explain my views on controversial topics. Liberalism part of the left wing of politics and the opposite of conservative, Liberals have more tolerance for change, while conservatives would like to stick with tradition attitude, values, and more so relates to politics rather than social reform. First and most importantly gun control is an extremely popular topic as of right now with all the shootings going on. Liberals protest that citizens should not have the right to keep and bear arms because of all the shootings going on, while conservatives think that everyone with credibility should be able to own a gun and protect himself or herself, and I completely agree with that. If we as a whole make owning a gun illegal, not only will it start a big outrage across the country and probably cause more destruction and death, but also it will also not help. For example drugs, they are illegal but anyone can get it, and guns are much... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, conservatives are opposed of gay marriage, and abortion while liberals are not opposed to it, this is where a lot of the conflict starts because some people think that it is unconstitutional. Another big topic would be free health care, my personal opinion about this is as said, the price of health care should go down for families who can t afford it but I think we should at least keep the price slightly the same for capable families that way we can at least pay for the technology to keep our medical field moving on and pay the doctors for their delicate work in the field, without doctors we wouldn t have made it this far and they save lives daily, this should really be ... In The Things They Carried, Fist Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a soldier in the Vietnam War who finds solace and escape in fantasies of a young woman from home. One of Cross s soldiers dies due to his daydreaming and forces him to abandon these fantasies. In Greasy Lake, the main characterfinds enjoyment in picking fights and breaking the law. Surrounded by a world a war and violence, these daydreams are the only escape Lieutenant Cross has and he embraces them fully. When faced with violence, the main character from Greasy Lake not only accepts it, but encourages it. Upon the boy s arrival to Greasy Lake, he and his friends mistakenly hassle a stranger and his girlfriend. Instead of apologizing for the disturbance and trying to reason with the stranger, he and his friends immediately engage in battle, beating the stranger unconscious. The rage and violence of this attack does not end here. The main character turns his attention to the stranger s girlfriend: It was the foxВ… that set us offВ… she was already tainted. We were on herВ… grabbing for flesh (Boyle 133). The rape does not occur as the boys are chased away by an approaching vehicle, but the intent of a second violent event was fully present. Every opportunity for violence encountered by the main character is met with open arms. In The Things They Carried, violence brings forth an epiphany for First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross. • 6. The World Is Flat, By Thomas L. Friedman The World Is Flat is a visionary and insightful text written by Thomas L. Friedman. In short, the text brings about the study of globalization at its forefront. Moreover, Friedman analyzes the evolution of business and importance of information with respect not only to the 21st century, but with regards to the history of trade as we know it. It is from this study and understanding that Friedman engages in a detailed thought process as to how an institution, government, or individual can remain competitive in such a progressive environment. In summary, through engaging in the fifteen chapters and recalling the historical events used as evidence, one may arrive at more substantial conclusion as to how certain entities will remain ahead of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To explain with an example, Friedman gives the reader a story, stating when I was growing up, my parents told me, Finish your dinner. People in China and India are starving. I tell my daughters, Finish your homework. People in India and China are starving for your job (270). Apparent in this personal example is the presence of two critical arguments of the text. First and foremost, the quote draws a contrast between two generations and highlights the fact that they are in some respects, exponentially different. Thus, Friedman is able to reinforce his claims of how rapidly changing the world truly is. Secondly, he uses this example of drastic change occurring from one generation to the next to reference on of the driving forces or catalysts. To clarify, the reference to China and India s population as eager for a job opportunity indirectly reemphasizes the effects of the spread of information as well as the strength of outsourcing. From this quote, the reader gathers that individuals outside of their home state have the ability to do their job and will do so without ever having to step into their country. Again, Friedman puts into context the vast contribution that the web and other information sharing technologies have given the globe. Although there are more detailed explanations and relevant evidence, this quote serves as a fairly strong summary of Friedman s arguments in the first half of the text. Whereas the first half of Friedman s work aims to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Sports Medicine Field Poet Marguerite Murer once said, A critical role in athletics I do play; Without me there would be no game today. Sports medicine professionals and football players go hand and hand. Without Sports Medicine professionals, football players could not perform their job. Without Sports Medicine professionals, there would not be as many healthy athletes, as coaches and players would have greater opportunities to abuse recovery, causing players to ultimately get injured even further. Over time, research in the Sports Medicinefield, especially pertaining to concussions, has improved the overall health and injuryrecovery of football players. Research has not only provided more insight into these type of injuries but has also allowed for advancements in the recovery process. Along with increasing awareness during the recovery process following an injury, research has also been applied to the development and improvement of equipment in an effort to prevent injuries before they occur. The Sports Medicine field focuses on helping athletes improve their athletic performance, recover from injury, and prevent future injuries. This fast growing healthcare field affords healthcare workers who specialize in Sports Medicine the opportunity to help many non athletes as well as athletes. Ms. Holmes, founder and CEO of Theranos, became a youngest self made female billionaire in the world due to a $9 billion valuation of Theranos in 2015. If Ms. Holmes meets both ISO holding periods, she will pay tax on the entire spread between the sale price and the exercise as long term capital gain. If a disqualifying disposition occurs, by making the election of Section 83 (b) within 30 days following exercise, Ms. Holmes would benefit from reducing AMT income. However, Ms. Holmes still has a risk of losing money if she exercised the ISO early and the stock price decreases. Smart as Ms. Holmes is, she set up an agreement with the Company to exercise the options without having to pay upfront. When the stock price goes down, Ms. Holmes can simply return the shares. By doing so, Ms. Holmes successfully avoids the risk from the declining of the stock price. In conclusion, Ms. Holmes was trying to reduce the tax obligation when the stock price goes up and to avoid loss when the stock price goes down. Issue: What are the accounting implications of this transaction? Analysis and Conclusion: The Company issued Ms. Holmes ISOs. That book was entitled Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup. Northup was born a freeman that was obtained from his father after being freed by the Northup family due to loyal service. Growing up in the free state of New York, Solomon was allowed an education that was rare because of the sad disposition of the majority of his race. Before arriving in New Orleans, they made frequent stops at other slave pens to resupply goods and acquire more slaves. Escape always came to mind while on the ship but never came to fruition, as opportunity was lost. Arriving in New Orleans Northup was given the name Platt and placed in another slave pen similar to that in Washington. While in the pen they were to be kept in a presentable manner, washed, shaved and dressed in a cheap suit everyday. Slaves were instructed in moving to their spots and looking smart . Each slave was to stand in their spot while potential buyers viewed and analyzed them thoroughly. Northup became well known for his violin skills, so much so that Freeman was able to exploit such skills in pricing. However, after being exposed to small pox earlier from another slave, Northup got deathly ill and was rushed to the hospital, decreasing his value. Though still weak, he returned to the slave pen where he was sold to Mr. William Ford. Many different masters owned Northup, but two to be discussed are William Ford and Edwin Epps. William Ford, a future Baptist preacher and owner of a lumberyard, purchased Northup in the New Orleans. Ford lived in the Great Pine Woods of Avoyelles Parish by the ... He uses a variety of voices and points of view to demonstrate the different perspectives of Robby s story. To contest the ethical dilemma of telling someone else s story without exploiting it, Wideman addresses the issue head on. One of Wideman s main writing methods is his use of multiple voices and points of view. This becomes apparent even in the first page of the text. Wideman introduces his essay with a letter. It is not addressed to anyone, neither is it signed, but, it is written as if every character in his story was speaking. The tone is his own, the subject is his brother, Robby, and parts of the letter reveal advise from Garth and his mother. This presentation of a multi narrative style is present throughout the essay. • 32. Itp Research Paper What is ITP? ITP stands for Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura which is a scientific way of saying the body has an abnormally low number of platelets. These platelets are cells in the blood that help blood clot. When these cells are present in low numbers excessive bleeding and bruising often occur. A common symptom is red blotches on the skin that do not blanch. These spots are caused by bleeding underneath the skin. ITP affects both adults and children. In children, it is normally a temporary condition. In adults, the condition is often chronic. A diagnosis of ITP is a process of exclusion as similar symptoms appear in a range of other conditions including HIV and lupus. Once these conditions are ruled out, treatment begins. The first step to any sort of treatment is to speak with a physician. Only a doctor is able to diagnose ITP and specialists often work for years or decades to treat conditions such as ITP. As the condition is often chronic in adults and potentially life threatening, the most important step to recovery is to see a physician. What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?... • 37. The Effects Of Tobacco Smoking Although free of nicotine, marijuana smoke certainly pollutes the lungs. And since tobacco smoking has been linked to respiratory injury, cancer, emphysema, heart disease, complications of pregnancy, low birth weight, and other ills, it makes sense to worry whether smoking marijuana might prove equally harmful (Mack and Joy). Marijuana joints have been shown to deliver at least four times as much tar to the lungs as tobacco cigarettes of equivalent weight. This difference is due to the lack of filters on joints and because marijuana smokers typically inhale a larger volume of smoke and take it more deeply into the lungs than tobacco smokers do. Marijuana smokers also tend to hold smoke in for a time before exhaling, exposing the lungs to even greater levels of cancer causing agents. Clinical studies suggest that people who smoke marijuana are more likely to develop respiratory illnesses than are nonsmokers. A survey of outpatient medical visits at a large health maintenance organization (HMO) found that marijuana users were more likely to seek help for respiratory illnesses than people who smoked tobacco (Mack and Joy). While cannabisis harmful to the brain and lungs of the user, it is also harmful to the ones around the user. It has been shown that the effects of using cannabisare similar to those of alcohol and benzodiazepines and include slowing of reaction time, motor incoordination, specific defects in short term memory, difficulty in concentration and particular ... Throughout the book we are given examples of how Holden has different feelings based on who he is talking to. Three important characters in the book give three different personalities that add up to the overall conclusion that Holden is crazy. Stradlater is one of the most non innocent characters in the story, and we see throughout the book Holden picking fights with him. He is known to take girls on dates and rape them in the back of his coaches car. After he takes Holden s childhood friend, Jane, on a date, he refuses to tell Holden what they did. Holden assumes he tried to rape her and take away her innocence, and immediately he grows in hatred toward Stradlater. The text says, I told him he didn t care because he was a goddam stupid moron. He hated it when you called him a moron. All morons hate when you call them a moron. (50) Holden then gets into a big fight with Stradlater. Now you will need to find or create this substance. To create it, you can pour water on top of lava with a bucket, and to find it you will have to look near lava. You will need about 12 of these. The shape of the portal is going to be a rectangle, standing up. On the bottom you will need 4, and then put 3 blocks on the bottom left and right blocks, then two in between those two at the top. The portal is not complete, though. You will need flint and steel. To craft this you need flint and iron. To acquire flint you will need to dig gravel, which is found underground and in caves. After crafting this, go to your portal and press the left trigger to light it. It should be purple inside of the rectangle, which means that it worked. To go inside you just have to stand there until you appear in the Nether. So obviously that means it worked. You have successfully created a nether ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Importance Of Chromosomes And Chromosomal Structure The vast majority of the scientific community is cognizant of the importance of chromosomes and chromosomal structure in cellular replication and lifespan. One of the most prominent and greatly researched discoveries of chromosomes has been the telomere and the enzyme telomerase with which telomeres interact. The term telomere refers to the caps located on the ends of chromosomes as a form of protection against chromosomal shortening and aging. Telomerase is an enzyme that aids in the lengthening of telomeres through replenishing TTAGGG ribonucleic repeats that do not code for particular amino acids and is present in high amounts exclusively in cells such as gametes or stem cells. These repeats then undergo chromosomal shortening rather than the necessary ribonucleic acid sequences of DNA. (Yuanjun et al., 2014). Telomerase itself is a highly intricate enzyme that is capable of interacting with accessory proteins, RNA templates, and the ribonucleoprotein complex of a catalytic human reverse transcriptase. The human telomerase gene commonly referred to as hTERT is responsible for activating telomerase and is further regulated by transcription factors. Copious studies have revealed that aging and other growth crises such as cancer is telomere length dependent and may be avoided through the increased expression of the hTERT gene, telomerase activity, and stabilization of telomere length. (Degerman et al., 2011). Aging is additionally avoided in cells through the negation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
