Breitbart New Right
There is a growing sentiment that nationalist and conservative political parties are increasing in
popularity and influence around the world. While this may be true to some extent, it is arguably the
rise of the New Right that is gaining significant momentum in surging popularity and influence at this
current time. While it is easy to suggest that nationalist, populist, conservative and even fascism is
becoming more mainstream and acceptable in modern society, it is important that the New Right is
differentiated from the current group of right leaning politics. This paper will identify and discuss
what is the new right and what makes it different from other forms of the political right, as well as
examining the cause and as contributing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of social media from the left and right are noticeably different. Brooker and Barnett (2017)
observed that those who were drawn to social justice politics tended to use insults as opposed to
engaging in a serious debate. This itself has created a stigma for socialists who don t support and even
oppose identity politics, but are associated with those using identity politics, similar to how the new
and alt right are often stated to be one of the same. And it is identity politics that s arguably drawing
the forgotten people to these alternative sources of information and humour. The ideology of political
correctness is identified by young people as censorship and suppression, comparable to
totalitarianism. It is for this reason why the new and alt right have made significant inroads in the
social media space. Traditional media repressed what those on the right call freedom of speech, thus
forcing individuals to search other places, predominantly online where their voices, concerns and
opinions can be

Archetypes In As I Lay Dying
Epictetus said, It s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. William Faulkner
explored this idea, among others, in his novel, As I Lay Dying, which follows the Bundren family on
their trek to Jefferson. Michael Arndt s screenplay, Little Miss Sunshine, explores similar themes and
follows the Hoover family on their road trip to California. In both cases, everything during the journey
goes wrong which tests the relationships of the family members. Carl Jung applied the term archetype
to literature because he realized that all people share similar experiences in their respective cultures.
Authors use archetypes so readers can relate to the characters in their stories; such is the case with the
characters in Little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The broken clutch symbolizes the hardship that the Hoover family has to overcome in order to foster
closer relationships. It is a constant reminder of their financial problems, among other problems, every
time that they get into the car. The mechanic explains to the Hoover family that As long as [they]
keeps parkin it on a hill they will be fine (Arndt 37). Because it is hard to always park the minibus on
a hill, the family has to work together and push start the car every time they want to get back on the
road. The family turns this into a fun, positive activity which brings them closer to each other. The
clutch acts as Arndt s contemporary interpretation of Addie s coffin in As I Lay Dying. The coffin is a
symbol of all of the Bundrens problems. Arndt and Faulkner also use roadside signs as symbols of
how the trip is progressing. For example, on the way to the pageant the Hoover family drives by a sign
titled, Carefree Highway which symbolizes how the problems they have overcome have made them a
closer, happier family. This contrasts the Bundren family, who pass a sign titled, New Hope. 3 mi. ,
which slowly fades away as they continue past it (Faulkner 120). This symbolizes that the Bundren
family is losing hope as they continue their journey, with each problem causing the family to slowly
fall

The Development And Usefulness Of The Electric Car
The Development and Usefulness of the Electric Car
The idea of an electrically powered automobile was first generated by a Scottish man named Robert
Anderson. Anderson did not know at the time, but electric cars would go on to become a crucial part
of American daily life. The development of the electric car is one of the most important inventions in
history because of its ability to decrease air pollution, its potential to make America money, and its
advancement in technology which paved a path for generations to come. Every year the US spends
billions of dollars on the oil industry which is an immense contribution to our massive debt. The oil
industry also contributes to many of the problems that the world has with global warming and drastic
climate change. If the United States became a country that only used electric cars, the world would be
a much more pure, safe, stable place to live in. As America continues to drown itself in an
overwhelming amount of debt, the electric car is an invention that could decrease the debt and
contribute to getting America out of its debt. In 1839, a Scottish scientist named Robert Anderson had
the brilliant idea of creating an electric car. He discovered that cars did not have to run on gasoline but
could be propelled by an electronic charge. This discovery led to many new innovations from the
1830s to the 1860s, but then a frenchman named Gaston Planté created the first lead acid battery
which was rechargable. This invention was

The Role Of Religion And Sociological Perspective
The Role of Religion in Sociological Perspective Religion is a system of beliefs that many of us may
not understand in detail. However, the intention of this paper is to describe the role of religion in my
personal life, and to briefly explain the functionalist perspective, the symbolic interactionism
perspective, types of religious groups, and religion in the United States with the sole purpose to
understand religion concepts in a sociological perspective and my personal point of view. The role of
religion in my life does not exist, as I am not a religious person. I believe that it is not necessary to
follow a particular religion/denomination to practice morality and ethics during our life on earth. I do
apply, however (with my own interpretations) the wisdom of the Bible to my life, especially the Ten
Commandments. I do believe in one God and I do believe that human s purpose in life is to take care
of God s creation, to follow God s words, and to love and accept others no matter what background,
religion, status, race, or culture. I find the world and everything in it to work to perfection for me to
believe that we were created by mere coincidence and evolution (concepts that Atheist s faith may be
based on). Therefore, if I have to relate my worldview to a certain denomination, I would accept that
my views are closely related to Theism, which is the belief in the existence of one perfect, divine
being. In order to understand the concepts

Childhood Observation Paper
By the time one individual reaches adulthood one has reached a complete level of understanding about
how the world works though different stages and experiences. A person accumulates all this useful
knowledge through the process of cognitive development, starting ever since we are given birth and
developing until the day we are six feet underground. Though the stages of cognitive development,
children develop the sensorimotor stage (birth 2 years, the preoperational stage (2 7 years), the
concrete operational stage (7 11), the formal operational stage (adolescence adulthood). (Berk 228

The Role Of War In George Orwell s Wagged Arms
For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the word war is a cause, moreover
fighting for beliefs or ethics that radically differ from the opposing side s. However, a more universal
similarity between wars, fiction or nonfiction, is economic gain. In 1984, The Eyre Affair, and
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the antagonist has the same motivation for the same action;
each aim to start a major war in order to sell weapons that they produce, earning a substantial profit
for the world s distress. In George Orwell s novel, 1984 (along with the movie adaptation), Big
Brother and The Party control Oceania under totalitarianistic rule while the super state is at perpetual
war. The war, while seemingly pointless and merely the cause of entangled alliances, is 1 ... Show

Although some citizens are against the war, Jack Schitt, head of Goliath Corporation is for the war for

nations involved and their economy through arms production. While soldiers fight for a cause,
businesses like Goliath create jobs for those still in the country and gain profit from selling their

Cassius Manipulation of Brutus, the Noblest Roman of Them...
Brutus is a good man who is easily turned evil by men filled with abhorrence and jealousy. In the play,
Julius Caesar, Brutus is a Roman who is easily manipulated, decisive, and proud. These contradicting
traits of Brutus show us why the reader does not want to believe that Brutus is an antagonist in the
story.
Brutus is shown as being easily manipulated in the play. This trait is shown a few times in the play. At
the beginning, Brutus is tricked by Cassius into believing that killing Julius Caesar would be for the
better of Rome (1, 2, ll. 32 321). Cassius is able to deviously influence Brutus into thinking that
Caesar is no different from Brutus. He says, Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar?/ Why
should that name be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In truth, Antony only wants to gain the conspirator s trust to be able to defeat them through the
citizens of Rome. We can easily see how Brutus was manipulated in this part of the story by the
conspirators and Mark Antony. Brutus has great sense of honour and he thinks that others think the
same way. It is this weakness in Brutus that makes him so easy to be manipulated.
Brutus is also shown as being decisive in the play. He easily makes decisions that are followed
without a moment s hesitation. At first he displays this useful trait when he discusses with the
conspirators about whether to include Cicero in the assassination of Caesar. Brutus rejects this idea
and states, O, name him not: let us not break with him:/ For he will never follow anything/ That other
men begin (2,1). Another time when Brutus shows his abilities to strongly make decisions occurs
when he and Cassius debate over which battle strategies to take when facing Octavius and Antony s
army (4, 3, ll. 202 223). Cassius disagrees on what to do at first, but Brutus is able to win him over.
Brutus decisive trait helped him very much in the play Julius Caesar. All though being decisive was a
good trait of his, his most important one was pride.
Pride is one of Brutus greatest trait and he showed how proud he was many times in the story. In Act
2, Scene 1, Brutus rejects the idea of making an oath with the conspirators because of his nobility and
pride. Here he says that if the good of Rome is not

Impact of Education Essay
Impact of Education Education is one of the most essential necessities of a personal life because
without education, we would not have a brighter future. In two essays Learning to Read and Write and
A Homemade Education , Malcolm and Douglass describe what they have gone through in order to
become more successful in their pursuits in life. While Malcolm X lived part of his life in prison, he
spent his time writing numerous definitions from a dictionary amongst the walls and tables. The
elements of the dictionary motivated him to not only become a free man, but a well educated one at
that. Douglass, who also taught himself, began his life in slavery. But after a series of attempts, he

Another impact of achieving an education is that it brings knowledge to one s life. Knowledge is a
powerful benefit for people in their understandings. Both Douglass and Malcolm also recognized the
power of knowledge that impacted them into following education. With great effort, Malcolm was
fascinated with the knowledge he gained I could for the first time pick up a book and read and now
begin to understand what the book was saying (81). He made a progress in reading to understand the
contents of a book even if it is the first time he picked it up. Knowledge also assisted Douglass in
finding the injustice of slavery and motivating him to gain his freedom. In the essay Learning to Read
and Write , he states that the more I read, the more I was lead to abhor and detest my enslavers. I could
regard them in no other light than a band of successful robbers, who had left their home, and gone to
Africa, and stolen us from our homes and in a stargerland reduced us to slavery. (64). He became
cognizant of what fate was in hold for the enslavers. That idea impacted him to gain more knowledge
and escape slavery to share his knowledge and what must be done. Today, people who want to gain
knowledge have to go to school for their education. People that attend are taught the essential lessons
that they need in order to move forward in life. Out of everyone in my family, I am the only one given
the chance to go to college.

Introduction
The strategic planning is considered as a management tool that is remarkable factor in many
organizations (Abdallah, 2013, n.d.). It is only used for single idea with nay management tool i.e. to
support organizational associated to do better job. It is usually concerned to regulate the direction of
an organization in response to altering environment, ensure the members working toward the similar
goals, and to focus on organizational energies to measure activities (McBain, et al., 2012, n.d.).
However, strategic planning is well organized effort of an organization to make its basic actions and

Uncertainty and ambiguity are a key challenge to every business organization existing today. Every
individual should be equipped to build strategies that not only defends threats but also helps in taking
advantage of the available opportunities. Obstacles and uncertainty must not prevent a person from
doing things differently. Arunachalam Muruganantham is a person whose determination transformed
all obstacles to his stride.
Case Description
It s a tale of an inventor s obsession, in the face of ostracism, which ends in triumph, with
Muruganantham s simple, low cost machine for the production of sanitary napkin at a very affordable
price that transformed the lives of several rural women across India. Muruganantham s decade long
experimentation to create an affordable sanitary pad manufacturing machine for underprivileged

Police Citizen Violence Research Paper
Avoiding Violence between Police and Citizens
On a daily basis, we read stories of officers who do wrong. For examples, theft, use of force,
misappropriation use of public office, abuse of authority, and even simple things like speeding, are all
unethical behavior on the part of those that the public has trusted to serve and protect them. On the
other hand, it must be noted that the huge majority of police officers are good, hard working and
dedicated people who strive to serve the public and do the right thing at every turn.
According to Roufa (2016), every officer knows or at least should be aware by now, that they live in a
fishbowl. Friends, relatives, neighbors, and strangers watch every move a law enforcement officers
make, both on and off duty. The fact is that the public analyzes police officers more than most other
professions, either because they are suspicious or hope to catch them screwing up or because they are
hopeful and looking for a good example and a strong leader. In either case, it is up to the officer to be
above reproach in both his public and private life. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reading of the Nation s newspapers often yields accounts of confrontations between police and
citizens over the use of deadly force in situations where racial and ethnic tensions create additional
complications or difficulties. Also, television news programs provide full supporting videos,

Greek Culture Vs Callatian Culture
In the article, it talked about how the different cultures around the world have different sets of values,
which may seem wrong to one culture, but completely normal to another. The article gave an example
of the Greeks and Callatians, who have very different cultural values of what to do with the dead. The
Greeks believed in cremating the dead, while the Callatians ate their dead as a sign of respect. To one
culture, the other seemed completely barbaric and disrespectful, and they would never do the other, as
proved by King Darius. This lesson, althougn many years old, still applied to today, even in a place as
diverse as America. There are many locations in America where it is not very culturally diverse. I feel

Justice In The O. J. Simpson Trial
The O.J. Simpson trial was an emotional, time consuming, battle where one side consisted of the
families of two murdered people, and the other of a famous athlete and actor alongside his defense
team, that kept the world glued to their seats in front of their television screen. I believe that there was
no justice in this case. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman lost their lives and no one was put in prison to
pay for these murders, yes, Simpson had to pay a large sum of money to the families of these two
victims, but was the money really enough? Orenthal James Simpson, was born on July 9, 1947. He
was born in San Francisco, California. His aunt was actually the one who named him after a french

Corner Of Bitter And Sweet
I am going to be reflecting on the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet in this essay. I
definitely enjoyed this book because of the story being told and the way it transitions chapter to
chapter between old Henry and young Henry. I also am myself very interested in the World War 2 era
in history and it is very interesting to see the war from a Chinese or Japanese Americans perspective
as opposed to an only American perspective. (On page 12) I don t like that Henry s parents make him
speak in only English, especially because Henry s parents don t (for the most part) know how to speak
English. I would understand if Henry s parents made him speak only English in public, but I think he
should be able to speak in Cantonese to his parents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also think the way Henry describes this is great because, in a way it might not be old news, it might
just be that people are not talking about because of fear or sadness because old news is also something
that people don t talk about. Henry woke to the sound of a police cruiser (Page 61) I don t like that this
young boy has to wake up the sound of police sirens. Usually, young boys wake up to toys or a pet to
play with but not Henry today. Even for a boy of Henry s age, it would be scary to wake up to sirens. I
would be scared today at the age of fifteen to wake up to sirens. I ll be here where am I going to go
(Page 164) I think it is very sad that Henry has to see his friend like this locked up in a cage like an
animal or criminal. A twelve year old boy should not have to deal with such an experience in his
young life. In closing, I think the book is awesome and I really enjoyed reading it. The dialogue was
writing amazingly and the characters traits and beliefs were on key. I also really enjoyed the
relationships between Henry and Keiko as well as the relationship between Henry and his

Analysis Of Jimmy Santiago Baca Poetry As Lifesaver
In the profile article Jimmy Santiago Baca: Poetry as Lifesaver author Rob Baker, who also is a
creative writing and English teacher proves to not only the readers but also the National Council of
Teachers of English the significance of poetry. The authors main point is that poetry saved Jimmy
Santiago Baca s life, he shows us how by explaining the emotions when Baca began to read poetry; he
then went on to write poetry and even publish his own works while still in prison, after Baca s release,
he became a dedicated teacher who also works with gang members and teaches workshops. The author
starts by explaining Baca s background he tells the audience the difficult circumstances that were Baca
s life. All circumstances considered into his young adulthood Baca could hardly read nor write and
truly had no desire to learn; Which makes it even more spectacular that he found poetry. His interest
began at twenty one when Baca was in prison, sentenced to possibly five to ten years. A couple years
passed and a church program had extended a relationship via a letter they sent, they targeted prisoners
without families. Unbeknownst Baca learned through steady communication with the church how to
read and write. The writing gave him something to do and in a sense a purpose. Shortly into their
connection, the man from the church introduced to a friend who was a poet. After this moment Baca s
life would never be the same. I believe something in my brain or

Theme Of Courage In A Lesson Before Dying
Almost everyone knows the right things to do. When a bully is picking on a victim, people around
them know the right thing to do stand up for the victim. However, knowing the right thing to do and
doing the right thing are two very different things the difference is courage. This is shown clearly in
Ernest Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, in Henrik Ibsen s play, A Doll s House, and a quote from
the movie Hidden Figures. Courage is shown through Grant, Nora, and that there s no bathroom for
me here (0:31) from Hidden Figures respectively. In A Lesson Before Dying by author Ernest J
Gaines, Grant is the protagonist who is trying to do the right thing for his people. Grant is in a very
turbulent situation, having to make Jefferson into a man by the time he is executed. This is the central
plot of the story, but not the main themes and ideas of it. Grant is struggling to help Jefferson because
he sees generations of injustice through him. We got our first load of wood last week, [Grant] told
him. Nothing changes, he said. (Gaines, 53). The response Grant s teacher gives him has a deeper
meaning: he as Grants teacher failed to change the injustice and racism and Grant is in the same
situation. Nothing changes , but Grant does not give up for the sake of Jefferson, his people, and most
importantly, himself. At one point, Grant actually reveals that it is too heavy a burden because of all

What is smallpox/ smallpox is a very deadly disease that has killed of 3 million people
It s killed more than prostate cancer and breast cancer fatality rates together. Smallpox was the first
disease to be eliminated from the world through public health efforts and vaccination. Smallpox still

The Problems that Our World Faces Today Essay
The Problems that Our World Faces Today The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets
in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately
our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major
problems that are facing our world today are population, pollution and animal extinction. One of the
problems facing our world is population. It began about ten thousand years ago when the humans
settled and began farming. The farming provides more food for the people thus making the population
grow. Now we are about 6 billion in population and in a few years we will be around 10 to 11 billion.

Pollution is another major factor that is threatening our world today. One example of pollution is
nitrogen. Humans are adding about 130 to 150 million tons over the 90 to 150 tons that are produced
by the nitrogen cycle. This excess in nitrogen causes coastal waters and estuaries to grow toxic algae,
killing the fish and trapping the solar heat in the air. Another example of pollution is methane.
Methane is produced by gases released by cows, termite mounds or by the bottom of rice paddy. If
found in the air methane is very poisonous. By raising more cattle, cutting more tropical forests, thus
increasing the amount of termites, and by growing more rice, the methane concentration in the air is
almost twice as higher as it was 160,000 years ago. Smoke is another pollution factor. Smoke that is
produced by cars contains carbon dioxide (CO2). This carbon dioxide in the air causes global
warming, which results in the green house effect and climate changes. Satellite studies show that
perhaps we will increase the temperature by 3.6 degrees by the year 2001. The warmer the weather the
more water it can hold, the higher the precipitation will be. The higher the precipitation the more
clouds, the more rain, and the more snow there will be. This will result in more storms and floods.
Studies by Thomas Karl of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration showed that the
total winter precipitation in the US has increased to about 10% since

Values Of A Warrior Society As Seen In Beowulf
The Values of a Warrior Society As Seen in Beowulf When Nelson Mandela, the president of South
Africa died, thousands of people gathered to say their goodbyes. It was not a happy and joyous
occasion but rather one where people were mourning of the loss of a great man. They may not have
personal known him but they know of the great things that he has done to make the world a better
place. To them, it is what made his death difficult and sad. However, if we lived in a warrior society
his death would not have something to mourn; instead we would celebrate his life. This is seen in the
epic Beowulf as the people of Geatland lay him to rest and celebrate his life. The celebration reveals
that the society knows what a great king is and that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scyld s funeral is not a somber occasion, but rather a joyous celebration. The people do not mourn that
he is dead but rather rejoice for the life that he led. Their celebration shows that they do not grieve
death. In this warrior society death is seen as honorable. The one who has died has given the ultimate
sacrifice, death, for their people. They may have followed their leader into battle and died or they may
have died of old age as is the case with Scyld. This is confirmed later on when Beowulf is speaking
Hrothgar on the death of his best thane. Beowulf states, Wise sir, do not grieve. It is always better to
avenge dear ones than to indulge in mourning. For every one of us, living in this world means waiting
for our end. Let whoever can win glory before death. When a warrior is gone, that will be his best and
only bulwark (lines 1384 89). This statement solidifies what is hinted at earlier on in the epic during
Scyld s funeral. It is part of a heroic code. Death is what comes to people who have earned it in their
dedication to a cause or great warriors who have earned it. Since death is found to be so honorable, the
people do not mourn for the loss of their king but celebrate his death. Scyld s funeral plays an
important role in discovering what was important to the society at this time including honor in death
and the qualities found in a great

Western Front Paul s Transformation
Erich Maria Remarque s page turning novel, All Quiet on the Western Front, is the greatest war novel
ever written. The novel is narrated Paul Baumer, a 19 year old German infantryman on the Western
front during the first world war. The novel follows Paul and his fellow comrades throughout their
journey in WW1. The story describes Paul as he goes through the life of a young German soldier.
From meals and shortages to bombings and death, Paul is confronted with constant and at times
extreme austerity throughout the novel. Afflictions, such as the deaths of his friends and fellow
soldiers, plague Paul s expedition throughout the novel. At the end of the book, Paul is also faced with
another affliction in his own impending death and his growing

Description Of A User Interface
AS91074 User interface The exact definition of a user interface is The features through which users
interact with the hardware and software . The reason that there is a user interface is so the user can
control and manipulate the device to his/her needs. Good interface This would be the google.com
home page. This is because this is a straight forward interface that is easy for the person who wants to
use it. Bad Interface A bad interface would be the Skype exiting mechanism. This is because when you
want to sue a computer and you clock the Close button at the top left of the screen the application
exits. But when you use the Close button at the top of the Skype application it just minimises the
window. This is very inefficient as it the application has two way of minimising and will confuse the
user. When I had tested person A with taking a screenshot on an IPod 4G she had kept accidently
locking the phone. Although the user was able to take a screenshot in the end she had wasted a lot of
time accidently locking the phone four times. On the other hand when I had tested the IPod on Person
C they had no trouble taking a screenshot. I think this is due to the age difference and the experience
that both subject have had. Doing this small test I was able to identify the problems with this function.
The problems were that this function required time to master and the user must be familiar with the
interface before using the device. It does present some usability in

Controversial Sports Mascots Analysis
A very sensitive subject and tough question that has been asked since the early 1900 s is, should
controversial sports mascots be replaced with mascots that are not offensive. It is a topic that
continues even today as people protest against what they believe is stereotypical sport mascots. In the
article, Controversial Sports Mascots Be Replaced, the authors of each article discusses how certain
groups of people, specifically Native Americans, believe certain mascots are offensive and should
from sport team names. The author attempts to create sympathy within the reader by sharing a story
from is youth that tells how his mom was displeased with a hat he wore home that had a Chief wahoo
on it. He told how his mom jerked his hat off and threw it in the trash because she had been fighting
against Indian stereotypes all her life. While the author believes that these Native Americans are right
to protest and fight to have the mascots changed, his argument is not entirely convincing because to
me his perceptions of the Florida State Seminoles war painted and lance threatening mascot Chief
Osceola is intended to be menacing, and that s the take away many children will have. I am ... Show

In The Mood For Love
Wong Kar Wai s movies often have a particular style of murmuring, the movie In the Mood for Love
isn t an exception. Wong focuses on describing the regret and helplessness repeatedly during the
movie time. Yet the background of the movie is based on the period of 1960s in Hong Kong, Wong
keeps highlighting the city Shanghai and leaves many clues of it: the song singing in Shanghainese in
the very beginning of the movie; the Shanghainese land lady, who is willing to sharing her room with
the main character Suu, who also moved from Shanghai, and the traditional dress of Shanghai women:
Cheongsam, which Suu wears it all the time during the movie. Wong shows his memory of Shanghai
in this movie, reflecting his nostalgia by those symbols.

How Does Sherman Alexie Engage readers in The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian. In
the moving young adult novel, The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian, The audience is
instantly engaged from the first chapter alone. The author, Sherman Alexie, writes loosely about his
own life on the Spokane Reservation and all the issues Native Americans face on a daily basis. The
novel is created in such a way that it seems it is a diary, belonging to a teenage boy named Arnold
Junior Spirit. This means that it includes typical adolescent humour, problems and more. Alexie also
uses cartoons to better enhance and portray the meaning of the novel. To begin with, Alexie writes as

Although almost all teenagers try to find their identity it is even more so with Native Americans, this
is because many of them want to change their families and get out of poverty, but they do not think
that they have the capabilities. One way Junior sets his character is with cartoons. His cartoons are
almost on every page and often help to further explain the feelings he has. The cartoons are something
that he and Rowdy used to laugh at with each other, but when Junior and Rowdy weren t friends,
Junior would sometimes go to Rowdy s house and give him a new cartoon, just to make sure that
Rowdy still cared. Another part of Junior s identity is that he is the only one left on the rez with hope .
A really fine example of this is when he relates his dreams about how he hopes to leave the reservation

Boggy Acre And A Narrow Fellow In The Grass
Patriarchy dominated in the nineteenth century and women were considered to be the property of their
husbands, without rights, land, or even the option to choose how to live their lives. The editor of The
Heath Anthology of American Literature, Paul Lauter explained that during the early nineteenth
century, white middle classed women had more leisure and education than their mothers or
grandmothers which enabled them to become a large audience; nevertheless, their opportunities for
meaningful work apart from childbearing, their ability to control their own property or even their own
persons had probably narrowed since the Revolution (Lauter 1460). White women became more
educated but remained inferior to men at this point in history. Lauter ... Show more content on

Jacobs bravely tells her story about escaping slavery with her children. She was the first writer to
show the grisly details of slavery and discuss sexual abuse. Jacobs criticizes herself for getting
pregnant to get out of the sexual abusive relationship of her slave owner by saying I felt as if I was
forsaken by God and man; as if all my efforts must be frustrated; and I became reckless in my despair
(Jacobs 2194). Jacobs had to hide for almost seven years in her grandmother s attic in attempt to gain
her and her children s freedom from their former slave owners (Yellin 2185). In 1852, Mrs. Willis, a
family friend, bought Jacobs freedom, for which Jacobs felt I was robbed of my victory because she
considered herself a person, unable to be bought or sold (Yellin 2185). Harriet Ann Jacobs publishes
her story to open people s eyes to what slavery really was.
Harriet Ann Jacobs helped start a movement of anti slavery writing that, through literature, would
eventually help change society s view of slavery. Jacobs Incidents was written for an audience of free
white women and its purpose was to involve these women in political action against the institution of
chattel slavery and the ideology of white racism confirming herself as an anti slavery writer using a
fictional character and different voice to tell truth (Yellin

Literature Review On Relationship Marketing
After reviewing some of important literature journals, I found some interesting concepts that relate to
the concerned research topic. Some of the concepts are as follows:
Relationship Marketing According to Abeysekera and Kumaradeepan s study in the year 2012,
relationship marketing can be used as a strategy to race in the market. Relationship marketing has
been operationalized using the model of trust and commitment. The findings suggest a significant
difference in relationship marketing orientation in state bank and private bank. Private Banks can be
viewed as concerned with more relationship marketing than state banks.
On the other hand, S K Das in the year 2012 contradicts this study and observes that relationship
marketing is a progressing trend in today s time but due certain reasons and hesitations like financial
problems, danger of failure, marketing inertia, etc., many banks in today s world are still following
and implementing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the findings, it was concluded that banks should concentrate on improving the value
perceptions of the customers by taking into concern the easy design of the services, service
perspective and compatibility of the services delivered.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the earlier research that has been done has limitations that qualify
our findings and present opportunities for further research. Not much research has been done about the
need of CRM in improving the performance of banks and creating a better relationship with
customers. For this reason, this research has been done so that more insights into the topic could be
identified. Moreover, the earlier research done on this topic could be used as an important tool for
further research.

Nirvana In The Grunge Era
In the early 1990 s a new genre of music and fashion was born amongst the United States. This new
statement, called Grunge, quickly spread throughout the United States and became a rapidly growing
phenomenon. Nirvana would become the poster child of this culture during the nineties. Nirvana s
front man, Kurt Cobain would empower the grunge era with his strong lyrics, and dramatic guitar riffs
to help popularize this new sound. Before the tragic end of Kurt Cobain, Nirvana would help jump
start a new genre of Indie rock music, popularize fashion and forever be memorialized as one of the
greatest bands of the 1990 s.
In the 1980 s, in Seattle, Washington, the Grunge era was born; however, grunge wouldn t become

Jane Miller s Purpose For Running For The Election
To win any election, it is paramount to have selected some vital themes that addresses the needs of one
s demographic party. It has to be fully outlined in such a way that it ll present and outline Jane Miller s
purpose for running for the election. There are several political topics in Texas as of today but some
important and strong ones include: More government regulation of immigration laws, Taxes and
abortion. Jane needs to prioritize this issues and present them in a clear and concise way to make a
clear conservative Republican stand point. Accurately planning a strategic foresight to enhance the
voting outcomes of regions and populations will demonstrate positive outcomes for this candidate.
For immigration, she would likely propose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also being a pro active entrepreneur, Jane can practically show how small and large businesses can
thrive in a tax friendly environment, thereby winning the heart of conservative Texans. The campaign
theme will help paint Jane as a committed conservative Republican, which is out to reduce
government spending. It could thus lead to a decrease in national debt.
Also proposing incentives for small businesses and reduced taxes for the rest of the population, she is
most likely to get the Republican votes. The fact that various regions of Texas have varied economic
status, the issue of taxation for the working class will need to be tailored for each affected region and
to be delivered with caution (Newell, Prinde, Riddleperger, 2013).
Abortion is a highly discussed issue nationwide, even among different ethnic groups as it tends to
affect all. The initial abortion bill indicates that medical providers to provide abortion only at the
facilities that are fully equipped to carry out the procedures. This is in fact protecting the right of the
Texans women and also reducing the numbers of abortion facilities that are all over the state. This in
part is also continuing in the culture that builds the foundations of the state of Texas. She could also
use the issue of abortion as an excellent entry point to discuss women and healthcare. This
controversial issue affects all Texans as a whole and therefore not

Use of Polarization in Goodbye, Mr. Chips Essay
Use of Polarization in Goodbye, Mr. Chips
Opposites attract. James Hilton uses this fact in Goodbye, Mr. Chips to create tension in the story;
however, he makes greater use of this polarization to develop the character of Chips. Mr. Chips and
Katherine Bridges may be viewed not only as opposites but also as arguments. Hilton uses thesis in
the form of young Chips and antithesis in the form of Katherine Bridges to arrive at synthesis, the
personality and character of the mature schoolmaster.
Hilton portrays young Chips as lacking in confidence. During an interview, Chips, a schoolteacher in

When Chips is forty eight, an age at which permanence of habits begins to be predictable, Hilton
introduces Katherine Bridges, a young and unemployed governess, to create tension. While on
summer vacation at Wasdale Head, Chips first sees Katherine waving excitedly from a rocky ledge.
He believes that she is stranded and in need of help. In his attempt to rescue her, Chips finds himself
rescued instead of the rescuer, and neither role is one for which he had much relish (20). Katherine,
who typifies the New Woman of the nineties that Chips abhors, feels responsible for Chips s injury
and visits him daily. At first Chips doesn t know what to do with Katherine: he isn t articulate and
doesn t think it worthwhile to contradict her ideas and opinions, so he just listens to her chatter. Soon
Chips looks forward to the glimpse of her safety bicycle careering along the lakeside road (23).
Katherine likes Chips initially because he was so hard to get to know . . . and because his opinions
dated from those impossible seventies and eighties . . . yet were . . . so thoroughly honest . . . (24).
Chips and Katherine fall in love within a week. Prior to their marriage, Katherine tells Chips that she
believes that schoolmastering is an important calling and that

Why Television Is The Extension Of Human Senses Along With...
Introduction In this day and age, television is seen as the most useful technology in the world where
we get enough information, entertainment and knowledge. People believe that it is more preferable to
have a television rather than to watch a live play in the theatre due to the freedom of relaxation and
high level of participation. In this essay, Marshall McLuhan s technology is the extension of human
senses along with Walter Benjamin s reproduction of art would be analyzed. The main of this essay is
to analyze two theoretical concepts and compare them to one another in relation to television and also
how these two theoretical concepts would approach television as a technology. Television is a machine

Then in 1906, Philo Taylor Farnsworth who was twenty one years old at that time invented electrical
Television on September 7th, 1927. During that time, electrical television was still black and white;
later on colour television was first introduced in the United States in 1953. Television moved from just
news and silent films to soap operas, cartoons, music videos and other types of informational and
entertainment things which influences us positively and negatively.
Theories
Marshall McLuhan, who was a Canadian communication theorist, was very much interested in
technology and how it shapes the advanced modern society. His very famous theory was the medium
is the message which means that the resource used or mode through which they are presenting shows
the message, not really the content. This theory then leads to how technology is seen as an extension
to human senses. McLuhan stated, Media have powerful effects on societies. Moreover, media become
extensions of ourselves; extensions of our human senses (Laughey, 2010, p. 33). Just like the way our
eyes see, our nose smell, our skin feels and our other senses have their function, McLuhan emphasis
the fact that technology is the extension of our psychological, social and intellectual (inner) senses. In
relation to Television as a technology, McLuhan would agree that technology is an extension to our
human sense due to the fact that in recent days it is something that is used everyday. Humans use

Introduction
Everybody negotiate in his or hers personal and professional lives and it is an important part of the
competitive modern life. Negotiations can occur over dealing with people, business contracts, official

  • 2. Breitbart New Right There is a growing sentiment that nationalist and conservative political parties are increasing in popularity and influence around the world. While this may be true to some extent, it is arguably the rise of the New Right that is gaining significant momentum in surging popularity and influence at this current time. While it is easy to suggest that nationalist, populist, conservative and even fascism is becoming more mainstream and acceptable in modern society, it is important that the New Right is differentiated from the current group of right leaning politics. This paper will identify and discuss what is the new right and what makes it different from other forms of the political right, as well as examining the cause and as contributing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of social media from the left and right are noticeably different. Brooker and Barnett (2017) observed that those who were drawn to social justice politics tended to use insults as opposed to engaging in a serious debate. This itself has created a stigma for socialists who don t support and even oppose identity politics, but are associated with those using identity politics, similar to how the new and alt right are often stated to be one of the same. And it is identity politics that s arguably drawing the forgotten people to these alternative sources of information and humour. The ideology of political correctness is identified by young people as censorship and suppression, comparable to totalitarianism. It is for this reason why the new and alt right have made significant inroads in the social media space. Traditional media repressed what those on the right call freedom of speech, thus forcing individuals to search other places, predominantly online where their voices, concerns and opinions can be ... • 3. Archetypes In As I Lay Dying Epictetus said, It s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. William Faulkner explored this idea, among others, in his novel, As I Lay Dying, which follows the Bundren family on their trek to Jefferson. Michael Arndt s screenplay, Little Miss Sunshine, explores similar themes and follows the Hoover family on their road trip to California. In both cases, everything during the journey goes wrong which tests the relationships of the family members. Carl Jung applied the term archetype to literature because he realized that all people share similar experiences in their respective cultures. Authors use archetypes so readers can relate to the characters in their stories; such is the case with the characters in Little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The broken clutch symbolizes the hardship that the Hoover family has to overcome in order to foster closer relationships. It is a constant reminder of their financial problems, among other problems, every time that they get into the car. The mechanic explains to the Hoover family that As long as [they] keeps parkin it on a hill they will be fine (Arndt 37). Because it is hard to always park the minibus on a hill, the family has to work together and push start the car every time they want to get back on the road. The family turns this into a fun, positive activity which brings them closer to each other. The clutch acts as Arndt s contemporary interpretation of Addie s coffin in As I Lay Dying. The coffin is a symbol of all of the Bundrens problems. Arndt and Faulkner also use roadside signs as symbols of how the trip is progressing. For example, on the way to the pageant the Hoover family drives by a sign titled, Carefree Highway which symbolizes how the problems they have overcome have made them a closer, happier family. This contrasts the Bundren family, who pass a sign titled, New Hope. 3 mi. , which slowly fades away as they continue past it (Faulkner 120). This symbolizes that the Bundren family is losing hope as they continue their journey, with each problem causing the family to slowly fall ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Development And Usefulness Of The Electric Car The Development and Usefulness of the Electric Car The idea of an electrically powered automobile was first generated by a Scottish man named Robert Anderson. Anderson did not know at the time, but electric cars would go on to become a crucial part of American daily life. The development of the electric car is one of the most important inventions in history because of its ability to decrease air pollution, its potential to make America money, and its advancement in technology which paved a path for generations to come. Every year the US spends billions of dollars on the oil industry which is an immense contribution to our massive debt. The oil industry also contributes to many of the problems that the world has with global warming and drastic climate change. If the United States became a country that only used electric cars, the world would be a much more pure, safe, stable place to live in. As America continues to drown itself in an overwhelming amount of debt, the electric car is an invention that could decrease the debt and contribute to getting America out of its debt. In 1839, a Scottish scientist named Robert Anderson had the brilliant idea of creating an electric car. He discovered that cars did not have to run on gasoline but could be propelled by an electronic charge. This discovery led to many new innovations from the 1830s to the 1860s, but then a frenchman named Gaston Planté created the first lead acid battery which was rechargable. This invention was ... • 5. The Role Of Religion And Sociological Perspective The Role of Religion in Sociological Perspective Religion is a system of beliefs that many of us may not understand in detail. However, the intention of this paper is to describe the role of religion in my personal life, and to briefly explain the functionalist perspective, the symbolic interactionism perspective, types of religious groups, and religion in the United States with the sole purpose to understand religion concepts in a sociological perspective and my personal point of view. The role of religion in my life does not exist, as I am not a religious person. I believe that it is not necessary to follow a particular religion/denomination to practice morality and ethics during our life on earth. I do apply, however (with my own interpretations) the wisdom of the Bible to my life, especially the Ten Commandments. I do believe in one God and I do believe that human s purpose in life is to take care of God s creation, to follow God s words, and to love and accept others no matter what background, religion, status, race, or culture. I find the world and everything in it to work to perfection for me to believe that we were created by mere coincidence and evolution (concepts that Atheist s faith may be based on). Therefore, if I have to relate my worldview to a certain denomination, I would accept that my views are closely related to Theism, which is the belief in the existence of one perfect, divine being. In order to understand the concepts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Role Of War In George Orwell s Wagged Arms For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the word war is a cause, moreover fighting for beliefs or ethics that radically differ from the opposing side s. However, a more universal similarity between wars, fiction or nonfiction, is economic gain. In 1984, The Eyre Affair, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the antagonist has the same motivation for the same action; each aim to start a major war in order to sell weapons that they produce, earning a substantial profit for the world s distress. In George Orwell s novel, 1984 (along with the movie adaptation), Big Brother and The Party control Oceania under totalitarianistic rule while the super state is at perpetual war. • 9. Cassius Manipulation of Brutus, the Noblest Roman of Them... Brutus is a good man who is easily turned evil by men filled with abhorrence and jealousy. In the play, Julius Caesar, Brutus is a Roman who is easily manipulated, decisive, and proud. These contradicting traits of Brutus show us why the reader does not want to believe that Brutus is an antagonist in the story. Brutus is shown as being easily manipulated in the play. This trait is shown a few times in the play. At the beginning, Brutus is tricked by Cassius into believing that killing Julius Caesar would be for the better of Rome (1, 2, ll. 32 321). Cassius is able to deviously influence Brutus into thinking that Caesar is no different from Brutus. He says, Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar?/ Why should that name be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In truth, Antony only wants to gain the conspirator s trust to be able to defeat them through the citizens of Rome. We can easily see how Brutus was manipulated in this part of the story by the conspirators and Mark Antony. Brutus has great sense of honour and he thinks that others think the same way. It is this weakness in Brutus that makes him so easy to be manipulated. Brutus is also shown as being decisive in the play. He easily makes decisions that are followed without a moment s hesitation. At first he displays this useful trait when he discusses with the conspirators about whether to include Cicero in the assassination of Caesar. Brutus rejects this idea and states, O, name him not: let us not break with him:/ For he will never follow anything/ That other men begin (2,1). Another time when Brutus shows his abilities to strongly make decisions occurs when he and Cassius debate over which battle strategies to take when facing Octavius and Antony s army (4, 3, ll. 202 223). Cassius disagrees on what to do at first, but Brutus is able to win him over. Brutus decisive trait helped him very much in the play Julius Caesar. All though being decisive was a good trait of his, his most important one was pride. Pride is one of Brutus greatest trait and he showed how proud he was many times in the story. In Act 2, Scene 1, Brutus rejects the idea of making an oath with the conspirators because of his nobility and pride. Here he says that if the good of Rome is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In two essays Learning to Read and Write and A Homemade Education , Malcolm and Douglass describe what they have gone through in order to become more successful in their pursuits in life. While Malcolm X lived part of his life in prison, he spent his time writing numerous definitions from a dictionary amongst the walls and tables. Another impact of achieving an education is that it brings knowledge to one s life. Knowledge is a powerful benefit for people in their understandings. Both Douglass and Malcolm also recognized the power of knowledge that impacted them into following education. With great effort, Malcolm was fascinated with the knowledge he gained I could for the first time pick up a book and read and now begin to understand what the book was saying (81). He made a progress in reading to understand the contents of a book even if it is the first time he picked it up. Knowledge also assisted Douglass in finding the injustice of slavery and motivating him to gain his freedom. In the essay Learning to Read and Write , he states that the more I read, the more I was lead to abhor and detest my enslavers. I could regard them in no other light than a band of successful robbers, who had left their home, and gone to Africa, and stolen us from our homes and in a stargerland reduced us to slavery. (64). He became cognizant of what fate was in hold for the enslavers. That idea impacted him to gain more knowledge and escape slavery to share his knowledge and what must be done. Today, people who want to gain knowledge have to go to school for their education. People that attend are taught the essential lessons that they need in order to move forward in life. For examples, theft, use of force, misappropriation use of public office, abuse of authority, and even simple things like speeding, are all unethical behavior on the part of those that the public has trusted to serve and protect them. On the other hand, it must be noted that the huge majority of police officers are good, hard working and dedicated people who strive to serve the public and do the right thing at every turn. According to Roufa (2016), every officer knows or at least should be aware by now, that they live in a fishbowl. The fact is that the public analyzes police officers more than most other professions, either because they are suspicious or hope to catch them screwing up or because they are hopeful and looking for a good example and a strong leader. The Greeks believed in cremating the dead, while the Callatians ate their dead as a sign of respect. To one culture, the other seemed completely barbaric and disrespectful, and they would never do the other, as proved by King Darius. Simpson trial was an emotional, time consuming, battle where one side consisted of the families of two murdered people, and the other of a famous athlete and actor alongside his defense team, that kept the world glued to their seats in front of their television screen. I believe that there was no justice in this case. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman lost their lives and no one was put in prison to pay for these murders, yes, Simpson had to pay a large sum of money to the families of these two victims, but was the money really enough? I definitely enjoyed this book because of the story being told and the way it transitions chapter to chapter between old Henry and young Henry. I would be scared today at the age of fifteen to wake up to sirens. Analysis Of Jimmy Santiago Baca Poetry As Lifesaver In the profile article Jimmy Santiago Baca: Poetry as Lifesaver author Rob Baker, who also is a creative writing and English teacher proves to not only the readers but also the National Council of Teachers of English the significance of poetry. The authors main point is that poetry saved Jimmy Santiago Baca s life, he shows us how by explaining the emotions when Baca began to read poetry; he then went on to write poetry and even publish his own works while still in prison, after Baca s release, he became a dedicated teacher who also works with gang members and teaches workshops. The author starts by explaining Baca s background he tells the audience the difficult circumstances that were Baca s life. All circumstances considered into his young adulthood Baca could hardly read nor write and truly had no desire to learn; Which makes it even more spectacular that he found poetry. His interest began at twenty one when Baca was in prison, sentenced to possibly five to ten years. A couple years passed and a church program had extended a relationship via a letter they sent, they targeted prisoners without families. Unbeknownst Baca learned through steady communication with the church how to read and write. The writing gave him something to do and in a sense a purpose. When a bully is picking on a victim, people around them know the right thing to do stand up for the victim. However, knowing the right thing to do and doing the right thing are two very different things the difference is courage. This is shown clearly in Ernest Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, in Henrik Ibsen s play, A Doll s House, and a quote from the movie Hidden Figures. Courage is shown through Grant, Nora, and that there s no bathroom for me here (0:31) from Hidden Figures respectively. In A Lesson Before Dying by author Ernest J Gaines, Grant is the protagonist who is trying to do the right thing for his people. Grant is in a very turbulent situation, having to make Jefferson into a man by the time he is executed. This is the central plot of the story, but not the main themes and ideas of it. Grant is struggling to help Jefferson because he sees generations of injustice through him. We got our first load of wood last week, [Grant] told him. Nothing changes, he said. (Gaines, 53). The response Grant s teacher gives him has a deeper meaning: he as Grants teacher failed to change the injustice and racism and Grant is in the same situation. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major problems that are facing our world today are population, pollution and animal extinction. One of the problems facing our world is population. Pollution is another major factor that is threatening our world today. One example of pollution is nitrogen. Humans are adding about 130 to 150 million tons over the 90 to 150 tons that are produced by the nitrogen cycle. This excess in nitrogen causes coastal waters and estuaries to grow toxic algae, killing the fish and trapping the solar heat in the air. Another example of pollution is methane. Methane is produced by gases released by cows, termite mounds or by the bottom of rice paddy. If found in the air methane is very poisonous. By raising more cattle, cutting more tropical forests, thus increasing the amount of termites, and by growing more rice, the methane concentration in the air is almost twice as higher as it was 160,000 years ago. Smoke is another pollution factor. Smoke that is produced by cars contains carbon dioxide (CO2). This carbon dioxide in the air causes global warming, which results in the green house effect and climate changes. Satellite studies show that perhaps we will increase the temperature by 3.6 degrees by the year 2001. The warmer the weather the more water it can hold, the higher the precipitation will be. Values Of A Warrior Society As Seen In Beowulf The Values of a Warrior Society As Seen in Beowulf When Nelson Mandela, the president of South Africa died, thousands of people gathered to say their goodbyes. It was not a happy and joyous occasion but rather one where people were mourning of the loss of a great man. They may not have personal known him but they know of the great things that he has done to make the world a better place. To them, it is what made his death difficult and sad. However, if we lived in a warrior society his death would not have something to mourn; instead we would celebrate his life. This is seen in the epic Beowulf as the people of Geatland lay him to rest and celebrate his life. The celebration reveals that the society knows what a great king is and that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scyld s funeral is not a somber occasion, but rather a joyous celebration. The people do not mourn that he is dead but rather rejoice for the life that he led. Their celebration shows that they do not grieve death. In this warrior society death is seen as honorable. The one who has died has given the ultimate sacrifice, death, for their people. They may have followed their leader into battle and died or they may have died of old age as is the case with Scyld. This is confirmed later on when Beowulf is speaking Hrothgar on the death of his best thane. Beowulf states, Wise sir, do not grieve. It is always better to avenge dear ones than to indulge in mourning. For every one of us, living in this world means waiting for our end. Let whoever can win glory before death. When a warrior is gone, that will be his best and only bulwark (lines 1384 89). This statement solidifies what is hinted at earlier on in the epic during Scyld s funeral. It is part of a heroic code. Death is what comes to people who have earned it in their dedication to a cause or great warriors who have earned it. Since death is found to be so honorable, the people do not mourn for the loss of their king but celebrate his death.
