An Argument Essay
Writing an argument essay can be a challenging task that demands careful consideration and
thorough research. The difficulty arises from the need to present a compelling argument
supported by evidence and logical reasoning. Crafting a coherent and persuasive essay requires
not only a deep understanding of the chosen topic but also the ability to critically analyze
information and counterarguments.
One of the primary challenges is finding a balance between expressing personal opinions and
providing objective evidence. Striking this balance is crucial to maintain the essay's credibility
and persuasiveness. Additionally, selecting relevant and reliable sources to support the argument
can be time-consuming, as it involves sifting through a plethora of information to identify the
most pertinent data.
Structuring the essay effectively poses another hurdle. Organizing thoughts in a logical sequence,
ensuring smooth transitions between paragraphs, and creating a strong introduction and
conclusion are integral components of a well-crafted argument essay. The process demands
attention to detail and precision in articulating ideas to maintain clarity and coherence
throughout the essay.
Furthermore, anticipating and addressing potential counterarguments adds complexity to the
writing process. A comprehensive argument essay should acknowledge opposing viewpoints and
skillfully refute them, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of the topic. This requires a high
level of critical thinking and analytical skills.
In conclusion, writing an argument essay is a multifaceted task that involves extensive research,
critical analysis, and effective communication of ideas. The difficulty lies in navigating through
the complexities of presenting a compelling argument while maintaining objectivity and
addressing counterarguments. However, with dedication and a systematic approach, overcoming
these challenges is possible, resulting in a well-crafted and persuasive essay.

The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History
In Jennifer Price s recent essay, The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History, Price
uses the idea of the plastic pink flamingo that is strangely popular throughout America
to criticize the present United States culture. As expected from the contrary words
plastic and natural in just the title of her essay, this passage is driven by irony. With
that said, Price uses a satirical tone to criticize the ignorance of American culture.
Price begins her essay with a metaphor. She uses verbs related to the flamingo such as
splashed and flocking, to explain how Americans had made the bird synonymous with
wealth and pizzazz (Price). Notice the contrary
Example Of POP Report
A continuation of the POP program can be seen in the idea of hot spots. A hot spot
in itself, is an area that consumed a disproportionate amount of police time and
effort. (112) The idea of hot spots soon progressed to the idea of hot spot policing.
Which is based on the assumption that if the police direct focused, intensive efforts at
the areas with high concentration of crimeand calls for service they can reduce crime
and disorder. All while using the problem oriented policing model of SARA. Such as
the experiment that Lowell, Massachusetts conducted. As a result of thirty percent of
their crime came from hot spots around the city, they needed to come up with a plan
to reduce those numbers. In addition to traditional policeenforcement

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) The term WBS has become a common term in
all fields related to Cost Engineering including Construction Cost Estimating,
Scheduling and Project Cost Control. A well defined WBS is the backbone of good
Construction Estimating Software and can take several forms including the
breakdown of items within an estimate, the layout of groups within a schedule or the
rollup of accounts within a cost report. It usually starts with a client s desire to

scope of work found in the construction of Building Facilities and Site Work. It falls
short in addressing the unique requirements of estimators, schedulers and cost
engineers in identifying all phases of work included in major Infrastructure work
such as Build Own and Transfer (BOT) projects. This Standard Work Breakdown
attempts to format the project into a multi level WBS suited to estimate, schedule,
track cost and measure performance on international infrastructure projects. The
breakdown is also designed to facilitate the data transfer of a standard work

applications. The International Infrastructure Project Work Breakdown Structure

phases within the life span of the project cycle, including Development, Engineering,

Debate Between National Security And Personal Freedoms
National Security Since the events of December 8, 1941 and September 9, 2001,
there has been an immense change in the ruling of our national security and personal
freedoms. The debate between the two is an intricate affair. Our national security has
a direct effect on the lives of every citizen in this New World. America has yet to
figure out how to retain both without a monumental problem occurring. National
security is protecting against all national crisis, which demands taking away some
civil libertiesfrom the people. Having said that, a mass amount of people are not
willing to give up those personal freedoms for the betterment of our nation because
they feel that the government has taken it too far. National protection of the citizens...

The proper way to balance security and liberty is not to balance them at all; it is to
insist on policies that maximize both to the extent practicable (The Heritage
Foundation). Often we speak of the proper balance, but there she be none between the
two. They are both reinforcing and the approaches to protect our nation should not
diminish the people s liberty. Protecting individual rights does not necessarily involve

Analysis Of Female Stereotypes In Disney Film Mulan
In addition to the two Disney films we discussed earlier, another Disney film that
illustrates these stereotypes is Mulan. While the film attempted to challenge the
ideology that women can t be adept warriors too, they didn t do so without leaving
some twisted gender perceptions behind most prominently seen in the two songs I ll
Make a ManOut of You and A Girl
Worth Fighting For. The first song, I ll Make a
Man Out of You implies that in order to be a great warrior, you must be a man and
asks did they send me daughters when I asked for sons? This suggests to children
that sons are the only people adept for war and that fighting is a masculine thing to
do, similarly to what we saw in Gaston s song. It reiterates how men are supposed
to be masculine, powerful creatures incapable of feeling emotions other than anger
or lust. It also shines light on the question of why are young women not more
inclined to join the military? Because they haven t been primed their entire life for
it. They ve either been told to trade their military men for barbies or that women
aren t meant for war. And although Mulan tried to change that by showing young
girls that women could be warriors, she was only successful in the place of a man s
shadow.
The song, A Girl Worth Fighting For displays some of the femalestereotypes seen
through the film. For example, it proclaims that the men s women must be paler than
the moon with eyes that shine like stars. She must also awe at his
Antigone And Prometheus Bound
Is the belief in destiny a way to encourage people to try and change it or to curse
people to their dooms? Destiny was more seriously considered in during ancient
Greek society and the Greeks centered their lives around oracles who could tell
people their destiny and what the gods had in store for them. Whether that
information was heeded or not, it greatly affected everyone s life because it basically
prophesied the future. There is a quote by Jean de La Fontaine that states, One often
meets his destinyon the road he takes to avoid it. If one knows what one is destined
for, should one try to change it? If so, what would be the impact? The plays Antigone
by Sophocles and Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus explore these questions in further

He made the decision to help humankind regardless of the outcome he was going to
face because he figured that helping humankind was worth more than the torture
that Zeus would put him through. Humankind was freed of its misery through
Prometheus s help and their misery became Prometheus s misery almost like
karma or like the existence of energy in thermodynamics. Energy can neither be
created nor destroyed so since misery existed to begin with, it was just transferred
from humankind to Prometheus. He knew of the suffering to come but he didn t
know how it would be when he reached that point in his destiny and the amount of
suffering he actually experienced took him by surprise. It didn t take him as much
by surprise as if he didn t know what suffering he would receive at all so he
probably would have thought twice about helping humankind if he didn t know his
destiny. If people know the extent of the consequences that would follow their
actions, they would be able to make more concrete decisions and accept their fate
easier when it comes along. Not long after, Io, the girl who was cursed by Zeus,
happens to come along and find Prometheus s prison. She finds out that Prometheus
is the one tied to the rock and questions him about why he got there. When he refuses
to tell her, she asks him to tell her the extent of which she
Auburn Prison Essay
Connections between the Auburn system, the Great Depression, and the development
of parole
In 1819 the prison in New York, Auburn was opened which was design by its first
agent, it included a center of containing tiers of cell blocks. The Auburn system was
meant to divide the prisoners into three distinct categories: The problematic convicts
were isolated, the second class which were less difficult spent half of the day at
work in groups and the rest of the day isolated, and finally the third class were the
least guilty they (third class) operated (worked) together through the day and were
divided at nights as they (third class) would return to their spate cells. Though it is
questionable that the Auburn prison or others like it could result in much income, the
clue of convicts evolving skillsand a work ethic was common.
The economic collapse internationally and was categorized by international tariff

loss of life and even property during WW1 in Europe that began, at least figuratively,

One motive for this is that bulk of institute has unbolted our idea of parole.
Hypothetically we have become adequately essential to approve that this

Bras Vs Breast Feeding
Bras during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do you need a new bra during pregnancy? Yes. Like the rest of your body, your
breasts will increase too. Although it might be tempting to use the existing bras, it
would be best to invest in some new ones. The growing breasts are heavier and
develop glandular tissues. Your breasts start producing milk during the pregnancy
and prepare for nursing your lil one. This adds a few pounds to the breasts which
deserve some comfort.
When to get a new bra?
When you take off your bra and see indentations along the straps, it s time to
purchase some new bras. The bras will start to feel too snug or your breasts would
start to spill out from the bra cups. As every pregnancy is different, everybody is
different. Hence each woman s breast size increases differently. The breast size
increases during pregnancy and then might not increase until the last few months.
Hence, depending on your body growth, you might have to change bras accordingly.

Night Comfort
It is very uncomfortable to wear a bra at night. Although many women prefer not to
wear one while they sleep, some do wear a bra since they want to provide support
to their growing breasts, even at night. If you wish to wear a bra at night, choose a
bra that is extremely soft and not too tight. A soft cotton bra is the best option since
it allows your skin to get sufficient air to breathe.

Essay on Flood Legends From Around the World
There are flood stories from many cultures. The flood stories usually consist of a
higher power that floods a civilization due to some act that has made the higher
power angry. The stories talk about one specific family and how the flood
consumes the entire globe. So many cultures have a story about a great flood that
have many similar details that it is hard to not believe that it is not true, but
whether the story of a great flood is true or not, it is up to the individual to decide.
Judaism is religion that many Hebrews are a part of. Many Christian religions like
Catholicism also believe the same story that the Jews do about the great flood. They
believe that God had become so upset with mankind s evil ways, he wanted to... Show

He then sent out a dove that came back without anything. A week later Noah sent
the dove out again, and the dove returned with an olive branch. The next week the
dove did not return to the ark. After a year and ten days of being in the ark, Noah
and his family emerged with the animals. Noah sacrificed some of the animals to
God, and God was so pleased he vowed to never destroy all of the living creatures
with a flood again. The rainbow that appeared was like the signature to an
agreement that he would never do it again. The animals ran wild and began to
produce and God told Noah s family to repopulate the earth (Genesis 6 9).
In Greek mythology, Zeus wanted to destroy the men of the Bronze Age so he sent
a flood. He thought the people of this age were very wicked. Prometheus advised
his son Deucalion to build a chest. All other men perished except for a few who
escaped to high mountains (). After Deucalion and his wife floated in the chest for
nine days they land on Parnassus. Then, he made a sacrifice to Zeus in which he
threw stones and they became men. Then his wife threw stones and they became
women. This story focuses on one family in particular, Deucalion and his wife.
There is a great flood that wipes everyone out but them, and a great higher power,
Zeus, did this to the earth. In Roman mythology, which is very similar to Greek
mythology, there is a flood story as well.
Witchcraft In Macbeth
Macbeth was written by shakespeare in 1606 when King James had been the king
of England for three years, and he was previously King James of Scotland. James
had symbolized the union of the english and scottish crowns in which shakespeare
refer to to in the play. King James was very fascinated with witchcraft. Shakespeare
had tried to win his approval of the play by putting in the characters, the three weird
sisters.
The hampton court was the place where Macbeth was performed with the presence
of King James and his guest in 1906. Shakespeare wrote Macbeth based on facts.
The storyline was that james had gotten the throne through his ancestors Banquo
and Fleance, with Duncan s Murder was a well known story. Macbeth has ruled
Scotland from 1040 to 1057. He killed his predecessor duncan and then as revenge
Duncan s son, Malcolm III killed Macbeth. These type of events were not very
uncommon in the barbaric feudal in Scotland of the eleventh century. There was 14
king who ruled between 943 and 1097 and of those fourteen and ten of them were
murdered.
Macbeth ruled for seventeen year, and he ruled well and wisely. He helped unite the
north and south Scotland for the first time ever. Malcolm III defeated Macbeth in a
battle near Aberdeen. Malcolm invaded Scotland with help of Edward the Confessor,

In the play Macduff murders Macbeth. This is not true though the one who
murdered Macbeth was Duncan s son Malcolm. He killed macbeth with the help of
the english army, but his chance at the throne was ruined when the king s followers
had placed Macbeth s stepson on the throne. His son was only king for a few
month, cause Malcolm killed Macbeth s stepson. It was soon after that, that
malcolm was able to seize the throne and rule for the next thirty five years.
Shakespeare made many dramatic changes in the play. He used the Holinshed s

apparent in Biology and Medicine compared with other domains. Additionally,
while the popularity of a paper s references is predictive of the paper s success in
most domains, this is clearly not the case in Engineering and Physics. The following

author and institution in the dataset: the sum of citation counts of papers published
by the entity, mean citations over papers published by the entity, and max citations,
e.g. the citation count of the most cited work by the entity. I also calculate the h

the economy were the same, the way Nicholas, Lenin, and Stalin addressed the
situation differed completely. Nicholas II, took as capitalism approach in order to

Lady Macbeth s Transformation
Development and transformation is best known to be the change a character
undergoes during the course of a story. In the play, MacBeth, written by Shakespeare;
MacBeth and Lady MacBeth will do anything to have power including, the murders of
Banquo, King Duncan, and members of his community. Macbeth interprets his
prophecies received by the witches seriously and transitions into an evil king, while
Lady Macbethgoes from power hungry to an insane woman; comparatively, to the
beginning of the play when Lady MacBeth wants power and MacBeth was a just
and righteous king. Lady Macbeth in Macbeth represents the extreme of one form
of temptation that may beset a woman. (Gerwig 1). Lady Macbeth is referred to by
Macbeth in his letter as my dearest partner in greatness, in the beginning of the play.
This have I thought good to deliver thee, my dearest partner of greatness, that thou
mightst not lose the dues of rejoicing, by being ignorant of what greatness is
promised thee. Lay it to thy heart, and farewell, (Shakespeare I.V. 9 12). This shows
that she was highly respected by her husband, and suggests she was a direct force in
their relationship. Lady MacBeth decides that she must persuade her husband to do

The name of the company was then changed to the King s Men. During the next
five years Shakespeare wrote fewer but perhaps even finer plays: Othello (1604),
King Lear (1605), Macbeth (1606), Antony and Cleopatra (1607 08), and
Coriolanus (1607 08). Each in its own way is a drama of alienation (being
withdrawn from or outside society), which continues to be relevant to the lives of
people in the twenty first century. These tragedies present an astonishing series of
worlds different from one another, in language that exceeds anything Shakespeare
had done before. (Carnagie, Saari, and Saari.
The Age Of Technological Advancements
Scientist believed the human race began approximately 195,000 years ago, but what
they seem to forget is it was reborn in the 19th century and created the age of
technology. While some would argue that technology has led the competence of the
human race backwards towards the stone ages, technological advancements in history
by engineers have allowed the establishment of a world that is truly modern and
interconnected by power, communication and transportation. In the beginning,
humans would have to rely on themselves and the sun for power and light,
respectively. Additionally, humans were limited to the number and strength to
accomplish tasks such as hunting, building homes, and providing other necessities
for themselves and their families.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the start people had no electricity or light bulbs and if they did, they were rich, but
with technological advancements implemented by Thomas Edison, everyone has light
and the rich do burn candles to show their pristine status. Before communication
would depend on many factors, now everyone uses their phones to call and
communicate with people from all around the world and the internet. With the new
way of transportation, people have the ability to travel from one end of the world to
the other and even space at anytime they like, there are no boundaries and
manufacturing and transporting those goods has also become a lot easier. Humans
are no longer restricted to physical capabilities, engineers have created a world that
speaks multiple languages, communicates all around without hesitation and travels
wherever they like; many boundaries have been lifted. Engineers have created the
basis for an interconnected society and continue to innovate and decrease human
limitations, now they only have to find a way to sustain the world by further
advancing their technology with their innovative minds and that of the new
Building a Foundation and Growing As Readers Essay
I personally feel the interactive model would be the best choice for myself. In the
top down model, which I would use frequently, is the concept about reading for
meaning. Comprehension is important; I feel if a student needs to skip a word or
two that they don t know it would be allowed, as long as they can grasp the meaning
of the text. I also love that readingand writingare primarily the mode for instruction.
This is useful, and helpful when teaching kids. It allows for repetition and practice
of reading and writing. However, in some cases especially students who are below
average in their reading skills some strategies need to be provided and mastered
before comprehension can occur. Students need to have prior background knowledge

2.Emergent Literacy is basically the concept that literacy is a process that starts from
birth. Children are constantly growing as readers and writers. What happens in the
classroom influences children s emerging literacy skills and motivations for reading.
Some major questions we need to be aware of with emerging literacy are; what do
students know about print? What reading behaviors or interests do the children have?
What do they still need to learn?
Reading readiness is when children benefit from instructional experiences before
engaging in reading. In the old reading readiness notion most believed that learning
could not take place until maturation happened around 6.5 years old. This is not true
today. Children benefit from instructional reading experiences at the infant level.
I would use both of these models in my classroom I believe that it is important that
reading readiness be incorporated because students have to be engaged in
instructional experiences that the teacher gives in order to become a good reader.
Students are constantly developing and as readers however you have to make sure
the text you are reading is at the appropriate level for students. Some students may
be very gifted and need to be challenged while others may be below the reading level,
or can t read at all. It is up to me as a teacher to find out

such as a Monster. This product made its debut around 2002. From there, the

company is the owner of this product and has been accused of many health related

(June R. Para 5) The majority of the people who like this drink is because it s taste in

variety of energy drink flavors. This gives the consumer a wide range of satisfying
Monster products to try. Despite, its ingredients, most people prefer the original
flavor (green) because it has an original taste of an energy drink.
Moreover, if a person decides to buy a Monster, any grocery and convenience store
has this product on their shelves. The price ranges from $1.50 $2.50 making it a bit
more equal with other beverages. Many consumers purchase this beverage because it
has a similar price to any other beverage and once this product is consumed an

Stakeholders are parties who can influence and be influenced by the organization s
movements, goals and policies. Telstra s decision to offshore outsource from different
paradigms can affect on its main stakeholders, such as shareholders and investors,
customers and employees.
1)Shareholders and Investors
Shareholders and investors are main stakeholders of Telstra as well as other
companies. From the views of these groups, the offshore decision could expand
profitability and the levels of competitiveness (Tsalikis Seaton 2008, cited in
Robertson et al, 2010, p. 168). The offshore activities bring consequences in the

The first implication is political tides: the Federal and State governments have
policies to discourage and limiting amount of offshoring jobs (Postma et al 2013).
The outsourcing and offshoring strategies are allowed to conduct when the company
follows the government policy and guidance about international trades to avoid
adverse impact on employment and business development (Harland et al 2005, pp.
839 841). Another related implication is talent reservation. The number of Telstra s
jobs continuing to be kept onshore is certainly available for talent and skilled
Australian veterans, who are bottom line and built up Telstra s core values and the
organizational successes. Telstra s business partners will be attracted and ultimately
served by the retaining internal staffs. If 100% of jobs are offshored, it is completely
problematic for Telstra in insourcing later and building the internal know how
workforce to strengthen functions the firm subcontracted because the knowledge and
experience belongs to offshore outsourcers. Also the offshore employees may betray
and work for others, and that can destroy Telstra s competitive

During the duration of The Second World War, the USSR lost 27 Million Soviets
to the ravages of war, despite this huge loss the USSR was still able to come out on
top of the 3rd Reich. Before the start of WW2 we see a series of purges,
Implemented by Stalin in hope of getting rid of political opposition. These affected
the Red Armyduring the War. We can also look at the 5 year plans and we will also
look at how the Germans could have caused their own downfall by spreading their

Again we see that even the leader of Nazi Germany would underestimate the Soviets.
Another factor was that the use of German Allied troops to support critical positions
within the east, these reserves were used as the German s didn t have enough troops
to support their war effort and had essentially spread themselves too thin. Due to this
it enabled the Soviet forces to break through the German lines during the winter of
1942 and destroy the 6th and 4th Panzer Armies. This was a loss that the Germans
could not fully recover from. Relating this back to the question, the loss of two major
divisions would impact on both the morality of the Soviet and German forces, it
would also stop the Germans from advancing in that route.
A second point to consider is the lack of Air superiority within the German forces,
due to the fact that the Luftwaffe did not have long range bomber, this stopped them
from attacking the Russian sources of production and as a result we can see that the
Soviets were able to out produce the Germans in weapons. The fact that the Germans
could not keep up with the Russian production numbers is due to the Allied forces
and their relentless bombing of the German industrial complexes, this slowed the
Nuclear Power Is Bad
The brink of extinction for every living organism is coming to its deadline. Having
any sort of nuclear power is a possible chance of having a nuclear disaster. There are
numerous places that suffered from nuclear disasters throughout the world. Ranging
from power plant breakdowns all the way to nuclear explosions. The use of nuclear
weaponsis an extreme threat to the whole world. One bomb can wipe out a city
effortlessly and leave dangerous chemicals in the air. The sheer volume of resources
just to obtain nuclear power is just bearable; the fact that the majority of the
resources are nonrenewable resources. Therefore all of the treats is a tremendous

First, the nuclear power plant breakdown of Chernobyl. Chernobyl is now an
abandoned city caused by a failure of a nuclear power plant; releasing dangerous
radioactive chemicals in the air. The city had to be evacuated elsewhere to safety

War II America dropped the first atom bomb on Hiroshima, Japan hoping to end the
war. The bomb killed around one hundred thousand people and tens of thousands
more that were injured from the blast. Survivors of the blast had high degrees of
burn and was exposed of radioactive chemicals left behind by the blast. The city of
Hiroshima was left in ruins; buildings collapsed, crumbles of stone laying all over the

Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. The 2011 tsunami in Japan caused people to

the tsunami made the plant unstable and releasing radioactive chemicals. The people

The Sharing Wisdom With African American Gentlemen
In today s society some people opprobrious African Americans especially, African
American males. Black men are defined as a threat to society and by the negative
images conveyed in media today. Black children, particularly black males, are being
raised in a world where there is a high probability of not graduating, being
unemployed, arrested, or dead. We can minimize this epidemic by enhancing the lives
of today s youth. In society parents and guardians are usually responsible for
accentuating the importance of values, morals, and ethics to our black children.
However, children will deeply discern these ideologies if they are clearly perpetrated

The mission of the Sharing Wisdom with African AmericanGentlemen program is
to extend resources and information specifically geared to uplift, educate, and
empower African American males. Most importantly, we want to share the
experiences of those who have prospered through difficulties to reach their success.
If African American males are able to see a role model, especially someone they can
relate to, they too, are more likely to long for success.
The only time some African Americans hear about African American history is inside
school, and usually the African American race are not the ones being adulated.
Learning about African American history is important because a lot of the issues we
faced in the past are repeating. In the past, black people could not drink from the
same fountain, use the same bathroom, or sit in the same seats. For many years,
black people were not worthy of the lifestyle that was offered to others. They were
considered less than human and so they were involved in intense labor and
experienced sexual racism. Some people use the Pathological Approach to explain
these hardships and how these issues could have contributed to instability and
disruption in African American families. The SWAAG program will educate our
males about the past. We will enhance their knowledge by teaching them quotes
written and said by African Americans, titles of books written by African Americans,

John Duns Scootus Comparison Essay
Love is often a word mistreated by most people. Now days, the word love is
thrown around so much, it has lost its meaning. People forget why we are living,
breathing humans today. People forget about the sacrifices made for the sins we
acted out. People forget about the love that God has for us. It is easy to misinterpret
the meaning of Gods love. Human love and God s love are two different things. The
love from the Lord is invincible and no human can come close to that type of love.
God created mankind because He loved humanity.
John Duns Scotus was a Franciscan theologian that had different beliefs among
many people. Many Catholic s believe that the incarnation happened because Adam
and Eve sinned; however, John Duns Scotus disagreed. He believed that the
incarnation would have happened regardless if any sins had taken place or not.
This all adds up to one word that would lightly explain God as a whole: love. God
loved humanity, God loved all people. Everything God did was because of love.
The incarnation was predetermined. John Duns Scotus view of thinking is based on
love, not sin. He says that God loves us first and then redeems us from our sins. God
spent six days on the creation of the world. Though, six days to ... Show more content

a) Mrs Tilscher and her classroom seems like a warm place. It is said that Brady
and Hindley faded, like the faint uneasy smudge of a mistake. Brady and Hindley
murdered five children in the United Kingdom around the 1960s. The murders
must have had a great impact on people then but now Brady and Hindley, as well
as their crime, have been forgotten. Comparing this to the children s mistakes, it is
evident that Mrs Tilscher does not put much emphasis on the children s mistakes.
She might have addressed it at first but made sure that they did not dwell over it
and get put down by it. Thus, she makes them feel safe. Sometimes, she would also
left a gold star by your name . This shows that she tries her best to encourage her
students and tries to build their confidence. She makes them feel safe and not
terrified about getting criticism. She gives me a feeling that she cares deeply for
these children. Usually, most Teachers put a lot of emphasis on one s mistakes but
Mrs Tilscher does not. Also, the way the writer speaks about her shows that she is a

Pro Looting
I don t believe that looting should be allowed, looting is taking items or many from
other people without paying them back or asking. this is wrong because people have
to make money to survive, if you are taking their goods how do you expect them to
get anything? Looting does not benefit anyone in the long run and just hurts people.
The only time i think looting is OK is when you are on the verge of starvation and
are about to die, i believe this because if you don t have food to eat and survive,
then i understand if you have to steal, if you have no other ideas which you should,
that is your final resort that you have to stoop to.
If Everyone else is doing it i m doing it to i don t think this is a excuse you should
follow, if you stoop to this level for your life you will start to do things worse then

Social Actors And Organizations As One Working Unit
Blumer lastly notes that although many methodologies observe large social actors
and organizations as one working unit, this does not allow the understanding of how
the organization functions. Researchers should look at the individuals within the
organization to see how those individuals fit together and how they interact. The
interactions of the people within the organization paint a picture of how the
organization functions and makes its decisions. Blumer sums up his essay perfectly
by saying respect the empirical world and organize a methodological stance to reflect
that respect (Blumer 1986, p. 60). Criticisms of Symbolic Interactionism As with any
theory there are critics of symbolic interactionism. One weakness of symbolic... Show

His reasoning behind why he believes this is a bit confusing and does not fully
explain why this data is unreliable. He does explain that data created from a
recreated world is not useable which is understandable because it is not being
taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why quantitative data taken
from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold.
This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He
sees testability as important but throws out research types with clear testability.
Many believe that Blumer s symbolic interactionism lacks hard evidence and
testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they choose to act. This lacks
the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to respond
in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is
no testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that
Blumer s theory does not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a
given situation. This paper allows for the assumption that every time an actor faces a
situation they consciously interpret it and then make a choice on how to respond.
This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an action.

Start by picking a brand focus, which you may better know as a brand principle.
When people refer to a brand principle in business, they are referring to the rule a
company lives by, or an aspect of the company or its products. It is a company s
way of saying, We stand for this, and your brand focus should be a similar thing. It
is similar (but not the same) because you need to show people what you stand for, but
you also need to highlight something specifically terrific about yourself.
Tip Think of yourself as selling a service instead of selling a product. The service is
your time and expertise.
Creating a brand friendly title
Your title needs to in some way reflect your brand focus. It doesn t have to state it
overtly, and it may look at little tacky if you do, but it should give readers a hint
around what to expect. The biggest mistake that people make is to state their current
job in their title/headline.
For example, your brand may be that you are an exemplary biomedical scientist who
deals with fecal matter. However, you may currently be working as a meter maid
since having your baby. Some users would make the mistake of writing that they were
a meter maid in the title/headline. Even though it is true, it is not a brand friendly
title, since a brand friendly title/headline would either state that the profile
Introduction to Forensic Investigations
Locard s Exchange Principle and the use of Fingerprints: Edmond Locard (1877
1966) was a French scientist specialised in both medicine and law. Inspired by the
work of Hans Gross, it was Edmond that created the concept that all objects of any
material should leave traces of itself upon whatever it touches, even if it is the
minutest amount, simply put as Every Contact leaves a trace, Locard (1923). This
is commonly known as Locard s Exchange Principle. He believed that in
circumstances such as a crime, his principle could be used to find evidence of who
and perhaps even how that crime was committed by finding small materials, either
physical or chemical at the scene of the crime that would directly link back to the

Even when they get packed away in boxes they could chip on the handle.
Everything can affect an objects uniquness. If a window is pryed open to gain
entry to building, the screwdriver used to pry it open will share different
properties to every other. By studying the `striation` marks on a window, we will
clearly be able to see that there are a certain number of grooves that make the mark.
By comparing this to the screwdriver that was found in a suspects house, this could
show that this was the screwdriver was used in the offence. This could then be
used as evidence in court to prosecute the said suspect. Individualisation is pretty
much based upon inductive reasoning; which is used a lot in Forensic
Investigations. By saying we have never seen two screwdrivers the same leads us
to believe that there are no two screwdrivers in the world. The same refers to the
uniqueness of fingerprints, a pair has never been found; but if a pair was ever to
be found, this would mean the entire theory of individualisation would fall apart.
Referring back to Popper s work on falsifiability, is it possible to prove that this
theory can be wrong? In order to do so you would have to check every single item
of that class ever made in great detail. This is too much to check on and so there is
no way we can prove this test to be false. Paul Leland Kirk believed that
individualisation was a key idea in Forensic Investigations and stated that

Animal Models And Clinical Trials
(WY Mak et. Al, 2014) discusses the concerns of the fact that many drugs that are
successful in animal trials are not successful in clinical trials, most specifically, drugs
used in cancer treatments. Animal models have been an important factor in the
testing of a new drug before it is used in clinical trials, but many drugs that are
approved in animalmodels are not successful in human models. It has been shown
that 85% of early clinical trials for novel drugs are not successful and from the
remaining 15%, only half are approved for human use. The reason there is a
difference in results between animal models and clinical trials have to do with the
inability of animals to identically mimic human body functions. An example of a
trial that had a difference in results is the TGN1412 trial. TGN1412 was a drug
used to treat diseases such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis, and certain cancers. Before
used in clinical trials, this drug was first tested in mice. There were no
complications shown in mice that would indicate complications in humans. Humans
in clinical trials were given a dose 500 times lower than the dose given to mice and
it resulted in catastrophic organ failure. Another study involving IPI 296 in patients
with advanced chondrosarcoma was ended early due to the fact that it had no effect
shown in clinical trials. When IPI 296 was used on mice, they were shown to have
an increase in survival rate. This showed that the effects of the drug on animal models

The Issue Of Sex Abuse
The first article involves a twenty year old male, Cody Jackson who had previously
been charged with abduction, kidnapping, and custody interference. He held a
woman and child captive in a Blue Ash, Ohio hotel. He was on a monitoring device
pending a court appearance for those charges when he used his social media,
Facebook, to solicit sex from children (CNN, 2015). Jackson reached out to a
fourteen year old female, promising a taxi ride to his apartment for sex acts. Once
the young girl arrived, Jackson committed sex acts with her and she continued to
meet him via taxi until he held her hostage. He disabled any means of contacting the
outside world. He raped and beat the teen daily. During this time, the girl became
pregnant (CNN, 2015). The justice system appears lax in its efforts to protect the
public. How was this male able to avert being caught during home visits? Why was an
accused kidnapper and abductor allowed access to the internet? What were they
thinking when they dropped the charges of kidnapping and abduction from the first
case because he pled guilty to the lesser charge of interfering with custody? In an
attempt to rectify the oversights and the subsequent escape, the Hamilton County
prosecutor s office is reinstating the former charges of kidnapping (which will now be
two counts) and interfering with custody, then adding rape, unlawful conduct with a

Analysis Of The Lost Colony Of Roanoke
The colony of Roanoke is generally known as England s first attempt to begin a
civilized and stable colony in the unexplored parts of earth known as the New
World. Sadly, the plan to colonize Roanoke Island didn t go exactly as the British
planned. The colonists had high hopes to find new things to take back to England
to make profit off of and be the first to obtain life in the New World. Things started
off well for the new colony, but the colonists began to have issues with the new
people they had discovered on the island known as the Croatan and Secotan Indian
s. After multiple attempts of trying to succeed at living a sustainable life in the
New World the colony of Roanoke failed to exist when John White returned to the
colony in 1590 and found not a single soul on the island. No one to this day is quite
sure what happened to the remaining colonist s that were last seen on the island
before John White left or any of the two Indian tribe s that had once lived there.

When it comes to meeting new people from unique cultural groups, the form of

communication when encountering new people from different ethnicity, it can lead
to misunderstanding and tremendous conflicts. For instance, I am Vietnamese and in
our culture, the way people communicate determines their characteristics,
personalities, and how educated they are. This is extremely important in my culture
since it reveals how we treat adults and if we admire them or not. On the other hand,
my friend Yary, who is Cambodian, her way of communicating defines how respectful
one is, based on their tone. The Cambodian and the Vietnamese s lifestyle tends to
have multiple similarities, but also have a few differences about certain topics. When
it comes to communicating, the situational context, physical appearance, and self

The stage size also has a downside, at times the actors would trip over each other
while dancing. The Vocal Point concert titled From Rent to Now: The last 20 Years
of Broadway: is directed by Dr. Sara Baker. This Contemporary Broadway show
consists of sixteen characters. It is a spoof on musicals. The opening scene played by
Trey Shonkwiler and Konnor Widmann was funny, and catchy. They sang A Musical
from Something Rotten! Shonkwiler is a Tenor, while Widmann is a Baritone.
Together they made beautiful harmonies, they complimented each other vocally, and
as actors very well. The next song Mama Who Bore Me from Spring Awakening was
sung by all the women, with a soloist. Kristen Garth has a lovely altovoice, her
performance was unconfident, and a bit nervous, she had a few notes that were flat,
overall it was nice. There were a few moments where the background singers were
too loud, overpowering the soloist. When He Sees Me, from Waitress, sung by Kris
Glorsorio was wonderful. She has a beautiful Alto/ Mezzo voice. She connected
wholly with her character, I thought the balance of head

Investigation of in vitro and in vivo antifungal activity of different plant acetonic
extracts against fungal skin isolates
ABSTRACT
T he worldwide increase of multidrug resistance has impaired the current
antimicrobial therapy, warranting the search for other alternatives. This study
investigated the efficacy of using plant extracts; Lawsonia inermis L(Henna),
Glycyrrhiza glabra L(licorice) and Rosmarinus officinalis L (Rosemary) as antifungal
agents.Antifungal susceptibility test revealed that nystatin were mostly active against
tested clinical isolates. In vitro antifungal activity of the different plant extracts
against isolates showed that acetonic extract of licorice, had high antifungal activity.
In vivo study, topical application of licorice gave promising and excellent healing
response. We propose that the higher percentage of (GC MS) of 3 O Methyl d
glucose 29.1 %, most probably are the causes of its higher antifungal activity.
INTRODUCTION
Fungal and bacterial skin infections are of public health concern as they can elicit
social, economic and public health problem (Maseleno and Hasan, 2013). Heavily
infected persons with visible lesions are often unconscious targets of social stigma
of rejection isolation because of their unslightly appearance. The cost of long term
diagnosis and treatment can be over bearing for low income individuals who make
up the bulk of developing countries where these infections occur in epidemic
proportions due to poor hygiene. It
Astronomy a Science, Astrology a Pseudo-Science
The word science probably brings many different pictures into your mind, some
being: a fat textbook, white lab coats, microscopes, an astronomer looking through a
telescope, a naturalist in the rainforest, Einstein s equations scribbled on a board, the
launch of the space shuttle, bubbling beakers.... All of those images reflect some
aspect of science, but none of them provides a full picture of what science
completely is. Science is defined to be the knowledge attained through study or
practice, or knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws,
especially as obtained and tested through scientific methodand concerned with the
physical world.
According to the TOK book, astronomy is considered a science and astrology a
pseudo science. Do you agree? Before I start discussing this statement, we should
know what science, pseudo science and astronomy, astrology really is. Science is
the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural and social
world following a systematic methodology based on evidence. pseudo science is a
concept that is considered to be science but it does not have enough evidence to go
along side with it and prove the concept to be right. Astronomy is a science that
studies everything outside of the earth s atmosphere, such as planets, stars, asteroids,
galaxies; and the properties and relationships of those celestial bodies. Astronomers
base their studies on research and observation. Astrology on the other hand,
President Abraham Lincoln s Our American Cousin
On April 14, 1865, President Lincoln, his wife Mary, an army officer named Henry
Rathbone and his fiancГ© Clara Harris were seated in a private box at Ford s
Theater in Washington, D.C. attending a production of the comedy, Our American
Cousin . President Abraham Lincoln sat quietly and unassuming, not realizing that
within moments his life would come to an end. At 10:15 PM a single shot was
fired to the back of his head leaving a metal ball lodged in his skull, and a trail of
blood running down his back. He falls forward in his chair while onlookers race to
his rescue. He is gasping for air, and paralyzed from the trauma. Rathbone tries to
catch the shooter, who is shouting Sic semper tyrannus! (death to tyrants), but he

While living in New Salem he and a business partner decided to start a store.
Unfortunately the store failed and Lincoln was left with years of debt that he
referred to as the National debt . His next career was being elected captain of a
militia unit during the Blackhawk War in 1832. This was a turning point in his
life not because of the election, but because he met and befriended John Todd
Stuart. Lincoln was becoming more and more interested in politics and law.
Lincoln was persuaded by his friend John Stuart to run for the Illinois General
Assembly. Although Lincoln lost that particular election and his friend Stuart
won, he did go on to win a seat during the 1834 election, and was re elected in 1836,
1838, 1840, and 1844. Over the years Stuart, who was an accomplished attorney,
took time to teach Lincoln and even shared his law books with him so he could learn.
In 1836, Lincoln received his license to practice law despite never having received a
law degree. In fact, he became a very well known and trusted lawyer who did quite a
bit of work for the Illinois Central
Budget Web Hosting Solutions For Start Ups
Budget Web Hosting Solutions for Start Ups Start ups today can t survive without
a proper website. Offering customers with the option of finding information online
and even providing services online will be crucial for business success in the
modern world. When it comes to delivering reliable online services to customers,
the web hosting company you choose for your business plays a crucial role. But as
a small business starting out, you might not have the money to opt for a high end
service. Luckily, there are a few budget options available for start ups, with a wide
range of different services that should cater for your needs. The essentials to keep
in mind Before we examine some of the options, it s a good idea to understand and
analyse your needs. As the below will show, web hosting providers offer a variety
of services and you shouldn t opt for packages that deliver things you don t even
need. The main areas you need to focus on are: Space How much space do you
need for your online activities? The more activity you have on your site (e.g. you
are selling products online), the more space you need. If you are just looking for a
website for basic information, you shouldn t pay for too much extra space.
Bandwidth Web hosts have a limited bandwidth often on offer in the more budget
friendly deals. Speed and reliability Again, if you are expecting plenty of activity, you
need to focus on speed and reliability. It s a good idea to read reviews and consider

The Evolution of Total Quality Management
The Evolution of Total Quality Management
A useful way to begin to understand the evolution of TQM is to link it to show how
the industrial world was developing at the time TQM was evolving.
Until the industrial revolution in the mid 18th century, most goods were custom
made. Industrialisation brought about a fundamental shift from cottage industry
production to large scale manufacturing. Simultaneously, industrial activity underwent
extensive mechanisation. As explained by Ho, craftsmen were diminishing and
being replaced by mass production and repetitive work practices. The aim with the
new industrial era was to produce large numbers of the same product which required
processes to be put in place to control quality as it could not be ... Show more content

So gradually, during the post war years (as Cali explains) ... a sea change began
taking place in American management philosophy. as managers began to understand
that work of employees needed to be acknowledged and that workers needed to be
consulted if quality was to be improved.
In Deming s book Out of the Crisis he explains in his fourteen principles that
inspection is not the way forward if a businesses is to ensure quality. He says Cease
dependence on inspection to achieve quality. Eliminate the need for massive
inspection by building quality into the product in the first place
It is around the time that we begin to see the emergence of quality assurance with
more emphasis focused on the training and development of staff, recording of data
and the accuracy in which things were measured. Brown et all describes how In the
1980s, leading edge corporations sparked a revolution as they implemented Total
Quality programmes across entire organisations. In such a programme the
responsibility for quality is with the whole workforce. Each employee is responsible
for the quality of their own job, their own actions. It could be said that responsibility
for quality lies with 100% of the workforce.
Another TQM guru, Joseph Juran also influenced the thinking at this time by
promoting the need for education and training in the

An Argument Essay.pdf

  • 1. An Argument Essay Writing an argument essay can be a challenging task that demands careful consideration and thorough research. The difficulty arises from the need to present a compelling argument supported by evidence and logical reasoning. Crafting a coherent and persuasive essay requires not only a deep understanding of the chosen topic but also the ability to critically analyze information and counterarguments. One of the primary challenges is finding a balance between expressing personal opinions and providing objective evidence. Striking this balance is crucial to maintain the essay's credibility and persuasiveness. Additionally, selecting relevant and reliable sources to support the argument can be time-consuming, as it involves sifting through a plethora of information to identify the most pertinent data. Structuring the essay effectively poses another hurdle. Organizing thoughts in a logical sequence, ensuring smooth transitions between paragraphs, and creating a strong introduction and conclusion are integral components of a well-crafted argument essay. The process demands attention to detail and precision in articulating ideas to maintain clarity and coherence throughout the essay. Furthermore, anticipating and addressing potential counterarguments adds complexity to the writing process. A comprehensive argument essay should acknowledge opposing viewpoints and skillfully refute them, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of the topic. This requires a high level of critical thinking and analytical skills. In conclusion, writing an argument essay is a multifaceted task that involves extensive research, critical analysis, and effective communication of ideas. The difficulty lies in navigating through the complexities of presenting a compelling argument while maintaining objectivity and addressing counterarguments. However, with dedication and a systematic approach, overcoming these challenges is possible, resulting in a well-crafted and persuasive essay. If you find yourself struggling with such tasks, it's worth noting that assistance is available. The Plastic Pink Flamingo A Natural History Summary Sandra Arace AP English Period E 12/2/14 The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History In Jennifer Price s recent essay, The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History, Price uses the idea of the plastic pink flamingo that is strangely popular throughout America to criticize the present United States culture. As expected from the contrary words plastic and natural in just the title of her essay, this passage is driven by irony. With that said, Price uses a satirical tone to criticize the ignorance of American culture. Price begins her essay with a metaphor. She uses verbs related to the flamingo such as splashed and flocking, to explain how Americans had made the bird synonymous with wealth and pizzazz (Price). Notice the contrary

The debate between the two is an intricate affair. Our national security has a direct effect on the lives of every citizen in this New World. America has yet to figure out how to retain both without a monumental problem occurring. National security is protecting against all national crisis, which demands taking away some civil libertiesfrom the people. • 6. Analysis Of Female Stereotypes In Disney Film Mulan In addition to the two Disney films we discussed earlier, another Disney film that illustrates these stereotypes is Mulan. While the film attempted to challenge the ideology that women can t be adept warriors too, they didn t do so without leaving some twisted gender perceptions behind most prominently seen in the two songs I ll Make a ManOut of You and A Girl Worth Fighting For. The first song, I ll Make a Man Out of You implies that in order to be a great warrior, you must be a man and asks did they send me daughters when I asked for sons? This suggests to children that sons are the only people adept for war and that fighting is a masculine thing to do, similarly to what we saw in Gaston s song. It reiterates how men are supposed to be masculine, powerful creatures incapable of feeling emotions other than anger or lust. It also shines light on the question of why are young women not more inclined to join the military? Because they haven t been primed their entire life for it. They ve either been told to trade their military men for barbies or that women aren t meant for war. And although Mulan tried to change that by showing young girls that women could be warriors, she was only successful in the place of a man s shadow. The song, A Girl Worth Fighting For displays some of the femalestereotypes seen through the film. For example, it proclaims that the men s women must be paler than the moon with eyes that shine like stars. She must also awe at his

There is a quote by Jean de La Fontaine that states, One often meets his destinyon the road he takes to avoid it. If one knows what one is destined for, should one try to change it? He made the decision to help humankind regardless of the outcome he was going to face because he figured that helping humankind was worth more than the torture that Zeus would put him through. Humankind was freed of its misery through Prometheus s help and their misery became Prometheus s misery almost like karma or like the existence of energy in thermodynamics. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed so since misery existed to begin with, it was just transferred from humankind to Prometheus. He knew of the suffering to come but he didn t know how it would be when he reached that point in his destiny and the amount of suffering he actually experienced took him by surprise. It didn t take him as much by surprise as if he didn t know what suffering he would receive at all so he probably would have thought twice about helping humankind if he didn t know his destiny. Children are constantly growing as readers and writers. What happens in the classroom influences children s emerging literacy skills and motivations for reading. Some major questions we need to be aware of with emerging literacy are; what do students know about print? What reading behaviors or interests do the children have? What do they still need to learn? Reading readiness is when children benefit from instructional experiences before engaging in reading. In the old reading readiness notion most believed that learning could not take place until maturation happened around 6.5 years old. This is not true today. Children benefit from instructional reading experiences at the infant level. His reasoning behind why he believes this is a bit confusing and does not fully explain why this data is unreliable. He does explain that data created from a recreated world is not useable which is understandable because it is not being taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why quantitative data taken from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold. This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He sees testability as important but throws out research types with clear testability. Many believe that Blumer s symbolic interactionism lacks hard evidence and testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they choose to act. This lacks the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to respond in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is no testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that Blumer s theory does not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a given situation. This paper allows for the assumption that every time an actor faces a situation they consciously interpret it and then make a choice on how to respond. This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an action. Some actions are made without a full understanding of why

Use Of Linkedin Authority For Career Branding Purposes ESSAYS42700 6 How to use LinkedIn authority for career branding purposes Image http://assets3.thrillist.com/v1/image/1492657/size/tmg slideshow_xl Start by picking a brand focus, which you may better know as a brand principle. When people refer to a brand principle in business, they are referring to the rule a company lives by, or an aspect of the company or its products. It is a company s way of saying, We stand for this, and your brand focus should be a similar thing. It is similar (but not the same) because you need to show people what you stand for, but you also need to highlight something specifically terrific about yourself. Tip Think of yourself as selling a service instead of selling a product. The service is your time and expertise. Creating a brand friendly title Your title needs to in some way reflect your brand focus. It doesn t have to state it overtly, and it may look at little tacky if you do, but it should give readers a hint around what to expect. The biggest mistake that people make is to state their current job in their title/headline. For example, your brand may be that you are an exemplary biomedical scientist who deals with fecal matter. However, you may currently be working as a meter maid since having your baby. Some users would make the mistake of writing that they were a meter maid in the title/headline. Even though it is true, it is not a brand friendly title, since a brand friendly title/headline would either state that the profile
  • 31. Introduction to Forensic Investigations Locard s Exchange Principle and the use of Fingerprints: Edmond Locard (1877 1966) was a French scientist specialised in both medicine and law. Inspired by the work of Hans Gross, it was Edmond that created the concept that all objects of any material should leave traces of itself upon whatever it touches, even if it is the minutest amount, simply put as Every Contact leaves a trace, Locard (1923). This is commonly known as Locard s Exchange Principle. He believed that in circumstances such as a crime, his principle could be used to find evidence of who and perhaps even how that crime was committed by finding small materials, either physical or chemical at the scene of the crime that would directly link back to the offender.... If a window is pryed open to gain entry to building, the screwdriver used to pry it open will share different properties to every other. By studying the `striation` marks on a window, we will clearly be able to see that there are a certain number of grooves that make the mark. By comparing this to the screwdriver that was found in a suspects house, this could show that this was the screwdriver was used in the offence. This could then be used as evidence in court to prosecute the said suspect. Individualisation is pretty much based upon inductive reasoning; which is used a lot in Forensic Investigations. By saying we have never seen two screwdrivers the same leads us to believe that there are no two screwdrivers in the world. The same refers to the uniqueness of fingerprints, a pair has never been found; but if a pair was ever to be found, this would mean the entire theory of individualisation would fall apart. Referring back to Popper s work on falsifiability, is it possible to prove that this theory can be wrong? In order to do so you would have to check every single item of that class ever made in great detail. This is too much to check on and so there is no way we can prove this test to be false. Paul Leland Kirk believed that individualisation was a key idea in Forensic Investigations and stated that

  • 33. Animal Models And Clinical Trials (WY Mak et. Al, 2014) discusses the concerns of the fact that many drugs that are successful in animal trials are not successful in clinical trials, most specifically, drugs used in cancer treatments. Animal models have been an important factor in the testing of a new drug before it is used in clinical trials, but many drugs that are approved in animalmodels are not successful in human models. It has been shown that 85% of early clinical trials for novel drugs are not successful and from the remaining 15%, only half are approved for human use. The reason there is a difference in results between animal models and clinical trials have to do with the inability of animals to identically mimic human body functions. An example of a trial that had a difference in results is the TGN1412 trial. TGN1412 was a drug used to treat diseases such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis, and certain cancers. Before used in clinical trials, this drug was first tested in mice. There were no complications shown in mice that would indicate complications in humans. Humans in clinical trials were given a dose 500 times lower than the dose given to mice and it resulted in catastrophic organ failure. Another study involving IPI 296 in patients with advanced chondrosarcoma was ended early due to the fact that it had no effect shown in clinical trials. When IPI 296 was used on mice, they were shown to have an increase in survival rate. This showed that the effects of the drug on animal models was different

Industrialisation brought about a fundamental shift from cottage industry production to large scale manufacturing. Simultaneously, industrial activity underwent extensive mechanisation. He says Cease dependence on inspection to achieve quality. Eliminate the need for massive inspection by building quality into the product in the first place It is around the time that we begin to see the emergence of quality assurance with more emphasis focused on the training and development of staff, recording of data and the accuracy in which things were measured. In such a programme the responsibility for quality is with the whole workforce. Each employee is responsible for the quality of their own job, their own actions. It could be said that responsibility for quality lies with 100% of the workforce. Another TQM guru, Joseph Juran also influenced the thinking at this time by promoting the need for education and training in the
