For my site, I decided to go for an analogous color scheme. I chose blues as my primary
and secondary colors and used some green as a tertiary color in the design. I chose blues because
I feel it is a hue that reflects my personality. I am generally a calm, friendly, and relaxed person,
which is reflected in the color of blue. “Light blues can be refreshing and friendly. Dark blues
are more strong and reliable” (Chapman, 2010). As for the use of brighter greens, I felt that the
use of green would add some energy to the site while still maintaining a similar attitude from the
blue, as Chapman mentions. “Green has many of the same calming attributes that blue has, but it

also incorporates some of the energy of yellow” (2010). I attempted to make sure that most
colors could contrast against each other well and found a nice grey color that has a touch of blue
to tie the colors together.
As for my font selections, I decided to use Josefin Sans and Roboto, as was used in the
tutorial. I chose to keep these fonts because I really liked how they flowed together and felt for
the same kind of attitude I was trying to support with my color scheme. The use of Sans Serif
fonts helped to keep the text easy to read and supported the calming feel of the colors being used,
while the modern styling of Josefin Sans presents a somewhat interesting and unique feel to the
headers. This also helped for the logo, which I chose to keep Josefin Sans, but in all-caps to
continue the same sort of feeling (digitalsynopsis.com, n.d.).
