Owen Davison designed the interior of a digipack for his band Deer Maria. He placed an image from Formby Beach in the center and added the band's logo, which was created in Adobe Photoshop. Owen used selection and layer tools in Photoshop to highlight the logo against the image. He then added text with the song lyrics "Old Pine" using the same stencil-like effect. Finally, Owen transferred the design into Adobe InDesign to prepare it for printing.

2. For the inside of the digipack my group came to
the conclusion that it would be extremely
simple and plain because, when looking at real
media folk products the inside of the albums
were like this, and so we decided to conform to
this style.
The first thing I did to start producing the inside
of the digipack was place in the image gathered
from Formby beach, which of course is used on
the front cover. The idea was to place this
image into a stencil of our bands logo and
place it in the middle of the page, and you will
get an idea of what I'm talking about and you
will see the final design of this further on in this
presentation.

3. The next process, as you can see in the
image, was adding in our bands (Deer Maria)
logo, which was created on Adobe
Photoshop, the same software used to
create the digipack.

4. The next thing I did was highlight the
logo by selecting the specific layer
and using the rectangular marquee
tool. I then copied this layer

5. After pressing copy and highlighting the image
of the logo, I then pressed the similar option,
which basically selects the colour that is similar,
in this case black, and outlines this colour.

6. Once the outline of the logo was highlighted I
deleted the black by pressing the backspace
button on my keyboard

7. Furthermore, I hid the layer in which the
image from Formby beach was present, and
the result of this was what you can see to the
right. This shows continuity, as I have used
the same image and colours used in the front
cover

8. I then added text and wrote in the lyrics of the
song ‘Old Pine’ and then went throughout the
same process of the logo, in making the image
behind show through the text, which is almost
stencil like.

9. Finally, I transferred the image from Photoshop
into a net on Adobe InDesign, so that the
measurement were perfect to print out.
