The document summarizes and compares the design elements of three music album digipaks: Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, and George Ezra. All three album covers feature black and white imagery and simple fonts that convey an indie or garage rock style. The Arctic Monkeys cover features a close-up facial expression hinting at tiredness and rebellion. The 1975 cover is very plain with cut-outs of the band. George Ezra stands out from others in his photo, conveying individuality, while the disc and text are plainly contrasted against the imagery. Overall, the covers emphasize simplicity and edginess through monochrome palettes and candid photos befitting their indie genres.
This is a research document on all the different kind of digipaks. I did this to give me a rough idea on what to do for my digipak when I was in the planning stage of making one. These different albums helped me out especially as they are under the same genre as the one I am producing so it was good for me to go off digipaks that are in the same genre.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Record label and artist
information
- Artic Monkey’s record label is
Dominorecord’s, which is an
independent but also has sister
company's in America, Germany and
France. The fact it is independent
suits the indie genre
- The cover includes the artist name,
the digipak is in B&W and the link to
cigarettes hints to the indie/ garage
rock genre.
- The font on the front of the album is
all lowercase and in black, on top of
a white rectangle, this gives the
effect of a sticker. This connotes a
home-made feel and links to the
indie genre.
3. Arctic Monkeys
- From the close up, facial expression and wiping of the eyes gives a sense of tiredness and
frustration. The album is about clubbing in the north of England, which is identifiable due
to the rugged look on his face along . The image is in black and white bringing it down to a
simple level, where only the key details are understood. This gives an edgy look to the
digipak, with the facial expression and smoking giving the indie look, showing a sense of
rebellion linked to smoking and the genre.
- On the back the tracks are listed in white, with a simple san serif font. There is also the
institutional information as well as the recognisable Domino Records logo, which will
attract fans of the genre as it is well known for indie artists.
4. The 1975Artist
Track listRecord label and artist
information Album information
- The 1975 have four record labels,
Dirty Hit, Polydor, Vagrant and
Interscope
- In the digipak they choose not to
include pictures of the artist but
instead a board with cut-outs/
stencil type and lighting around it,
in general it is a very plain and
simple but an effective digipak
- Similarly to the Arctic Monkeys a
B&W theme has been used, which
is interesting because again they
are an indie band.

Track list
- Ezra’s record label is Columbia Records,
which is owned by Sony Music
Entertianment, which are both
subsidiaries of Sony Corporation of
America. Although Columbia Records
are not an indie based label they have
some very well known artists in their
roster, including AC/DC, Adele, Pink
Floyd, Beyonce, Frank Sinatra, 50 Cent
and Pharrell Williams.
- The cover chosen gives an indie feel to
the album, the images have the same
theme throughout. George stands out in
the photo by wearing a red shirt and
being the only one to look into the
camera, this could be him standing out
from normal life, which is an attribute of
being ‘indie’
6. George Ezra
- Looking over the digipak an range of techniques have been used, for example the
white text is clear and stands out but does not take away from the main image. The
image is key in this as they are taken from his music video for ‘Budapest, which was a
very popular music video, making the album recognisable for the audience.
- The disc is different to many others, it is plain with the name of his label ‘Columbia’
as well as having their logo. In addition it also includes his name, name of album and
the track list. Overall it contrasts the rest of the digipak, which is not a technique I
will be looking to do however I think it works well.
