- 3. Genre This album coveris appointed to the specific genre of Rock music. This is evident within the masthead of the album cover as the text looks like deteriorated metal which represents a Rock personality. In addition, the album is called “Black Ice” which is very dangerous ice which relates to stereotypical views about rock. Colour The colour scheme is a simplistic red and black combination. This gives a contrasting effect between the two colours as the main colour of the cover is black which relates back to the music genre, Rock. Red and black also connotes horror, blood, devil, etc. which is often associated with Rock music. Main Image The main image of this cover is distinguished within the background in white, almost as if it has been engraved into the black surface of the cover. Although there is one overall image to represent the album, the image compensates as it gives a good understanding and relation of the cover through the punching towards us that depicts power which hints an aspect of the music giving the audience an insight of the music to expect. The conventions of the cover overall is very basic and the composition shows an effortless attempt but a successful result. Representations The masthead of the main cover represents the band and the font style represents the music genre especially through the lightning bolt. Font Use The font use within the cover is bare as there is only two existing texts. However, the red colour of the main text relates to the colour scheme as well as the gradient filled text at the bottom of the cover on a black background.
- 4. Audience The audience ofthis album is aimed at people aged between 15 to around 28 who enjoy listening to rock music.

- 6. Genre This album covercreated to suit the music genre of Hip Hop. This is evident within the masthead of the album cover as there is nothing ordinary about the masthead. Furthermore, the body language of the artist in the main image is very “cool” which relates to the link between hip hop and cool. Colour The colour scheme is basically the colour of the setting used in the image. It seems that the artist is in a prison cell due to the dull lighting and scuffs in the wall, also the shadows seen on the wall look as if they have been created by bars which relate to prison. Along with the body language, it makes the audience feel sympathetic for the artist, although we don’t know what’s yet to expect, because we feel that the album required a lot of hard work, which should be good, just by seeing the front image and establishing the surrounding. Main Image The main image of this cover is the artist standing towards the right of the cover whilst holding his jacket/blazer over his left shoulder. The tone of this image blends in with the colour scheme causing no contrasting effect between colours and also keeping consistent with three colours overall, hence the costume colour of the artist. In addition, the badge in the bottom left corner signals that parental consent is needed to view/listen to contents due to “explicit content”. No action is taken towards disobedience as it is just a profound image, meaning an image which gives an insight of the music to expect. Representations The main image represents aspects of freedom due to his body language which looks as if he has just been released from somewhere which links back to the prison suggestion.
- 7. Font Use The onlytext visible on the cover is the artists name and the album title. The artists name is written in capitals and dominates the album title to indicate the artist of the album. The font style looks like a stamp with the separated lines framing around the artists name, this also relates to prison replicating stamps that are stereotypically involved with prison life. Audience The audience of this album is aimed mainly towards the male population and appeals to those between the age of 15 – 25. this has been concluded through the aspects and conventions of the album cover. In addition, the composition of the cover is very basic due to the minimal conventions within the cover.

- 9. Genre The genre ofthis album cover is R&B, this is partially because the artist, Justin Timberlake, is an artist who produces mainly R&B songs. The image in the album cover portrays a high class album and straight away is unseen as a negative type of music such as rap. Colour The colour scheme is simply black, white and red which are common high class colours of a suit. In addition, a lighter shade of black has been used in some areas of the blazer to highlight different lighting effects on the suit. Main Image This covers main image is also the background. This image is simply the upper half of a suit from above the bow tie down to the blazer lapel. The tone of this image has been kept to a minimal level, therefore the lighting areas and text could stand out better. Representations The main image of this cover represents the high class impression of the album. Furthermore, the text font has been kept to a standard to portray a professional look. The album title also represents a song within the album which is based around a suit and tie. Font Use The amount of text on the cover is very bare which has caused the large spacing between letters of each word to fill up space across the cover. On the other hand, the font style has been kept consistent and ordinary, this use of font gives a professional impression which emphasises the main image the suit.

Audience The audience ofthis album is specified towards people between the age of 15 – 30. however, it is also available for other age groups to listen to and enjoy if they are into this genre of music. Stereotypically, youths are associated with R&B music which distinguishes the specified age range.
