America is the land where dreams manifest into reality. Dreams ranging from fame, wealth, or the
simple quality of living in peace. But the American Dream more than that. The American Dream is
the idea that American can provide opportunities for those who attempt to prosper through hard

Altercations which try validate the American Dream as unattainable or the multitude who say the

3. Kant Turning Points
Alper Г–zesmer
Preliminary Study
Question 1: What are the three versions of the Copernican Turn?
Accordingly, Kant s aim is to rescue metaphysics from an endless war by embarking a turning point
in metaphysics as Nicolaus Copernicus did in cosmology. Copernicus denied the Ptolemaic
geocentric cosmological system because of its insufficiency about the explanation of the movement
of the planets. He brought a solution to the problem of the explaining movements of the planets by
rejecting the assumption that the Earth was motionless and he suggested that motions of the
planets are the result of the observer. With this change in perspective Copernicus tried to give a
solid foundation to cosmology. In regard to this point, in the Preface to Second ... Show more

The world conforms to our modes of knowing and we know it only as it appears to us. According
to Kant, our knowledge begins with experience but does not arise out of experience ; experience
is already determined by the subject s a priori modes of knowledge. In other words, the objects of
experience are already conditioned by the subject s constitution and what human reason knows as
necessary and universal is what it has already put into experience. Simply, that means all our
experience is synthetically produced and he locates the origin of these productions in our faculties.

Over the past three decades biotechnology has evolved tremendously and in result plays a large
role in global agriculture. Genetically modified organisms, otherwise known as GMOs, has
changed the way people around the globe view the process of agriculture. The growing use of
GMOs has not only brought up questions of how it affects human health but has adversely
affected local communities. The technology used to produced GM foods is being introduced and
developed rapidly with inadequate testing. GMOs have been the key to opening the door to new
discoveries and endless possibilities, but at the same time has been noted as a possible Pandora s

A well known example of this is the use of Bacillus thuringiensis, otherwise known as B.t genes,
being injected into corn. This gene enables corn to produce its own pesticides against various
insects. Traditionally, the process of enhancing desired traits in plants was done by breeding, but
the conventional methods of breeding have been found to be both time consuming and not always
accurate. This traditional method stays within the limits of nature, whereas biotechnology plays
God and disrupts natures natural course. Some examples of FDA approved GM crops include,
tomatoes and cantaloupes that have modified ripening characteristics, soybeans and sugar beets
that are resistant to herbicides, and corn and cotton plants with increased resistance to insects pests
(Assouline 15). In America, nine crops are the top commercialized GM products and sold to
consumers nationwide. These include, soy (98 percent GM), cotton (83 percent GM), canola (75
percent GM), corn (60 percent GM), Papaya (57 percent GM), alfalfa, zucchini, and yellow squash
(Assouline 17). These new technologies, raise recondite questions that should be answered before
moving forward with the advancement and use of said technology.

My objective is to explain how the devastating plague that struck Athens and killed Pericles in the
beginning stages of the Peloponnesian War was one circumstance that led to the end of the

The discussion
The plague caught Athens off guard, for the navy was well armed and prepared, the citizens were
all safely barracked up inside the city walls, however, one thing that even Pericles himself was not
prepared for, that was a brutal attack to their health. In my view the plague was a silent killer,
almost 1/3 of the Athenian population died in the summer of 430 BCE according to Thucydides

After World War 1, there is a lot of skilled pilots and aircraft is imported back to Australia. At that

Australia Government to response to the International Convention for the Regulation of Aerial

Analysis of the coach education and coach learning in the UK
1.0Introduction
The UK coaching framework was revised in 2012/2013 and a more concise document based
around Excellent Coaching Every Time for Everyone which provided a focus on four main key
objectives, these were:
More appropriately qualified and skilled coaches
A more diverse workforce
A culture of self improvement
A better supported workforce.
This report will discuss the current status of coach education and coach learning in the UK. These
findings will then be used to identify and recommend to the management board of Sports Coach
UK and the Minister for sport where the investments from the central Governments for coach
education and development should be placed.
2.0Current status of Sports Coaching in the UK
Gray (2011) said that coaching needed to become a profession; this is because of the widening
participation of young people in sport, community involvement and social responsibility and that
the health in Britain has gone down. Sports Coach UK (2008) agreed that it was in need of

Reading Comprehension Jennifer told me that she is able to understand only the basics of
English, but she is not able to understand big/difficult words. She does not like to read and she
does not read too often. Jennifer only reads when she needs to read in school, but she does not
read outside school. As far as I know, she is not doing well in the class and she is been getting F
s since she started the school year. Her tests scores have been very low and one reason it could be
that she does not comprehend everything that she is reading. Due to the low scores, I would also
consider her reading comprehension as an Intermediate level because she understands the basics.
Listening Comprehension Jennifer does not have a good listening comprehension since she does
not understand the lecture. The teacher always needs to give her time during class because she
does not understand all the material. She says that she understands better when she reads than when
she is listening. Again, I would consider that her listening comprehension level is Intermediate.
Informal, Every Day language From my point of view, Jennifer uses more informal language in her
every day life. I think that her academic English vocabulary is not complex. For instance,
Young people that use social media or any other type of activity such as texting, tagging, and
computer games tend to learn what is called the slang language. Many teenagers abbreviate words

The Origin, The Change, The Present
The Republican party or Grand Old Party (GOP), for over 150 years, has maintained itself as a
major political party within the United States of America. As a whole, the republican party follows
the belief of military build up ,less taxes, and more importantly, a limited government. However,
throughout recent years there has been an influx of conservative values being spread throughout
the GOP. These values include harsh stances against: homosexuality, immigration, and abortion.
This recent conservative trend has caused many to see the party as out of date. Ironically, it has
not always been like this, as the party was once what would be defined as liberal . These liberal
views included support of conservatism and universal health care(http://www.marketwatch.com

The bland aquamarine face of Uranus bears witness to the fact that Uranus is enshrouded in clouds.
The planet appears to be blue green because the atmosphere absorbs the, red wavelengths of the

is composed almost solely of one element, methane gas. There is a preponderance of haze,
composed of ethane and other hydrocarbon ices high in the stratosphere, and clouds of methane ice

The Giant planets do not have the same kind of structure inside that the terrestrial planets do. Their
evolution was quite different than that of the terrestrial planets, and they have much more gas and

Uranus s interior composition is primarily that of methane ice.
Motions in the interior of Uranus contribute to the formation of the magnetosphere of Uranus. Heat
generated within Uranus contributes to the unusual motions of the atmosphere.
The magnetosphere of Uranus is medium sized, but still much larger than the Earth s. It extends
well beyond the orbits of Uranus moons. It is probably generated in the icy interior layers, rather
than with a metallic component at the core.
The magnetosphere of Uranus has a very strange orientation, tilted by almost 60 degrees from the
vertical. The extreme tilt, combined with the extreme tilt of the rotation axis of Uranus, provides
for a completely unique magnetosphere, one which has a twisting structure!
Mathematical theory suggests that the rings of Uranus affect the both the motion of particles in the

There s nothing better than streaming down a mountain filled with snow, ski tips pointed straight,

to do lists that will follow. Most often, the excitement of the trip far outweighs the tedious trip
home, but in January of 2013, I might have been convinced otherwise as my trip home was filled
with speeding tickets, car problems, cramped spaces, and almost six extra hours of travel. As my

14. The War Of The French Revolution
It is critically important to gain all benefits of the military history lessons to abstract the aspects of
war, which enhance our leadership and capabilities to take the right decision. Therefore, I am going
to start with war definition. War is an act of force to compel our enemy to do our Will . During the
eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth centuries, a series of conflicts dominated Europe.
These conflicts had its influence on the Europe at that time, but the Napoleonic warshad the most
lasting impact on western warfare. The explosion of the French revolutionin 1789 is regarded today
as an important event in modern history. Different aspects of the French revolution influenced the
world affairs today. Therefore, waris an action has a principle to guide the force supported by
sustainment, and to compel your enemy you should have the superiority, which comes from the
innovation of organization, technology and tactics. Then, from my point of view, the desire of the
people nationalism , which remain the only significant factor, drives the societies to war. Thus,
Most of military aspects of western ways warfare have been remain constant since the 17th and
18th century, but the most important aspects that characterize ware fare in the age of Napoleon are
innovation, principles of war, and from my point of view, I will add nationalism.

for deforestation is vital to the survey on the change of the forest land. The main reasons for
deforestation are from two aspects, one is the state owned forest area, and the other is collective
forest area (John amp;Richard 1988). In fact, the amount of state owned forest area is much
larger than collective forest area. The ecological as well as financial crisis caused by the
deforestation has also stayed for quite a long time. The reasons for ecological and financial
crisis in state owned forest area can be analyzed from several aspects such as, firstly, the
excessive growth of the population in state owned forest area, which makes the overburdened of
the enterprises of state owned forest area. There are about 1.3 million work forces in state owned

Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution is the substitution of one functional group for another functional
group. The substitution is made at a saturated carbon atom. A saturated carbon is a carbon atom
that is sp3 hybridized. For a compound to be considered a nucleophile they must possess certain
properties. Nucleophiles must contain at least one pair of non bonding electrons and be neutral or
have a negative charge. Through nucleophilic substitution the non bonding electrons are donated
to the electrophile. The leaving group can also be either neutral or have a negative charge. Said
leaving group must also accept a pair of bonding electrons from the carbon atom that the leaving
group was attached to (1). The electrons are pulled as the bond between the carbon atom and the
leaving group breaks. Some leaving groups are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary defines cultural anthropology as the anthropology that
deals with human culture [especially] with respect to social structure, language, law, politics,

the study of man (anthropos: man and ology: study). The word culturecomes from the Latin word
colere, which means to cultivate, or to worship. When you understand the meaning of the word, it
provides you with a better understanding of what the word represents. Culture is something people

Anthropologists also liked to use phrenology, which was the study of the conformation of the skull
based on the belief that it is indicative of mental faculties and character (Merriam Webster
1998:876), as one of the scientific methods to support racism. An anthropologist would use
phrenology to say that certain groups of people were, because of the shape of their head, primitive

Mental health is very important to many people in and around this country. Millions of
Americans live with various types of mental illness and mental health problems. Treatment
options often include medication and psychotherapy. There are several categories of mental
illness to include personality disorders, mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety
disorders, trauma and stressor related disorders, psychotic disorders and many more. Many of
these disorders can be referenced in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM 5, APA, 2013). DSM is the most universal of modern classification systems for mental
disorders. These are used by clinicians, therapist, social workers and other social service
professionals to assess and assist in diagnosing individuals with various symptoms that meet the
criteria of a diagnosis. So many people deal with the symptoms of mental illness and never are able
to tell their story. In An Unquiet Mind, by Kay Redfield Jamison, she recounts her struggles with
bipolar disorder and manic depression. She struggled with her disease for a number of years and
it was uplifting on how she was finally able to come to terms with her illness and be able to
manage it. When you think of mood disorders, depression and bipolar disorder likely come to

25. Themes And Setting In The Book Thief By Markus Zusak
In a story, the setting is vital because it not only shows the characters surroundings, which will
cause them to act a certain way, but it can also help to depict a theme. In The Book Thief, a novel
by Markus Zusak, just like in many other books, the central setting helps to develop themes and
ideas in the novel.
Liesel Meminger, a smart yet sneaky nine year old girl who experiences life in Nazi Germany,
was on a train to Munich along with her mother and six year old brother, Werner. They were on
their way to a foster family who agreed to care for Liesel and her sick brother, who does not end up
making it. The foster family had consented to feeding the children a little better than they were
currently being fed, and educating them properly.
Outside of the train it was severely cold, and since Liesel s brother just died they had to bury
him. Standing to Liesel s left, the grave diggers were rubbing their hands together and whining
about the snow and the current digging conditions. (page 23) Because it was so snowy outside,
Werner did not get a proper burial; he was just buried under the thick layers of snow. This caused
Leisel to try to dig him out, but snow carved into her skin and frozen blood was all over her
hands. This is only one example of when the setting affected the characters actions.
Later, when Liesel and her mother arrived in Molchig, a small town in Munich, they approach the
foster home. It was on Himmel street, where, as Death, the narrator of the story

26. Case Study Of ABNA AMRO
In 2007, ABN AMRO Holding NV was acquired by RFS, a consortium of banks comprising Royal
Bank of Scotland (RBS), Fortis Bank NV/SA, and Banco Santander. The acquisition talks were
initiated after a shareholder wrote a letter asking the CEO, Rijkman Groenink, and the supervisory
board chairman, Arthur Martinez, to actively investigate a merger, acquisition or division of ABN
AMRO. The motivation was that the share price did not reflect the true value of the underlying
assets. On March 20, 2007, ABN AMRO established it was having merger talks with Barclays.
On April 18, 2007, however, RBS contacted ABN AMRO to propose a deal in which the
consortium RFS would bid for ABN AMRO and subsequently split the components of the firm.
On 23 April, ABN AMRO and Barclays announced the proposed acquisition of ABN AMRO by
Barclays. The deal was valued at €67 billion and included the sale of LaSalle Bank to Bank of
America for €21 billion.
Two days later, the RBS led consortium brought out its indicative offer, worth €72 billion, if

Supreme Court ruled that Bank of America s acquisition of LaSalle Bank could proceed and Bank

27. Introduction Of Antiviral Drugs
Antiviral Drugs
пѓ Introduction: These are the agents which are used in the treatment and prevention of an
infectious disease caused by certain viruses. They are antimicrobial compounds like antibiotics,
antifungal, ant parasitic, etc., but they have their own different mode of action because viruses
differ from bacteria and other organisms in a way that they lack cell wall and cell membrane. They
contain a core of nucleic acid that may be DNA or RNA, surrounded by the protein coat.
Viruses are obligate intracellular parasites, which means that they cannot grow outside the host cell,
they always require a host cell for their multiplication. They use the host machinery for its
multiplication. They can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It prevents the entry of the virus by binding to the CCR5 coreceptors, these coreceptors work
together with gp41 to promote the entry of HIV through the plasma membrane of the cell.
2.Integrase Inhibitor for HIV:
Mechanism of Action: The integrase inhibitors are also called Integrase Strand Transfer Inhibitors
(INSTIs). It inhibits the incorporation of viral DNA into the host DNA.
An enzyme called integrase help in the insertion of viral DNA into the host DNA by making a cut
in the host DNA at some points and then inserting the viral DNA into it. This enzyme has active
sites through which it makes a cut in host DNA. The inhibition process occurs when INSTIs attach
to the active sites of the enzyme, preventing the enzyme from making a cut in host DNA, therefore,
inhibiting insertion.
Dolutegravir and Raltegravir: It is an Integrase Inhibitor that works by binding to the active sites
of the enzyme and displaces one end of the DNA strand, making it impossible for the viral DNA to
be integrated into the host DNA.
Antimicrobial Spectrum: These drugs are effective against a wide range of wild type and drug
resistance HIV, including the strains that use CCR5 or CXCR4 coreceptors for entry into the host
cell.

28. The Story Of The Brothers
Once there was a nest(not a leaf filled nest or a damp nasty nest that you would find on a street
corner) it was a neat and cosy home. This is where the Raven brothers and their mother resided.
The brothers were Edgar the oldest and smartest, Allen the laziest of the bunch, and Poe who
liked to play with sticks and twigs. Their mother was a strict woman who did not approve of
disobedience, but loved her children all the same. That is where our story starts. One day the
brothers find their mother is sick with BirdFlu (a disease that kills birds and humans). The brother
stayed with her until she died a year later. Her last dying words were be safe and stay way from
Shanks the 900th. The brothers began to spiral into depression and spent most of their days
sleeping and all around not doing anything. The brothers moped around for a couple of years but
the nest became unkempt and dilapidated. The kitchen was full of moldy bread, a filthy sink,
and a hot icebox. The family room had half eaten bird seed, stained chairs and benches, and a
moth eaten pillows. Their bedrooms had broken down nest beds, unorganized closets and
drawers, and unclean clothes on the floor. On a especially miserable day Edgar was fed up with
himself with all the moping around a getting behind on the bills, so he called his brothers to talk
about a solution to their problems. They were not to happy about this but they came all the same.
Edgar proposed a idea that they should get houses and they should not

29. Jean Piaget
Jean Piaget created a framework of cognitive development in a series of four stages: sensorimotor,
preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. According to Piaget, the outcome of
learning depends on what cognitive developmental stage the learner is in. For example, you would
not give a calculus problem to a two to seven year old child because they have not yet entered the
stage of formal operation, or abstract, logical thinking. A child must be presented with an
environment that suits their thought. Piaget s first stage, sensorimotor, is from birth to the age of
two. In this stage, the child comprehends the world by coordinating sensory experiences with
physical movements. The focus is put on reflexes instead of cognition due to the fact that in this
stage children have not yet began to enter symbolic thought. This is a stage of experimentation and
exploration. The parents should allow their child to play with toys that make sounds in order to get
them to understand cause and effect relationships. One example is playing Peek a Boo,... Show

The child begins to represent the world with words and images, this reflects an increase in
symbolic thinking. There are two reasonings in this stage: syncretic and intuitive. The former
being a break in logic and the latter being guessing. This stage is characterized with increased
creativity and role play. Parents should encourage playing make believe characters to express
symbolic cognition. Additionally, the child is egocentric in their world view. To discourage this,
the parent should get the child to mentally place themselves in someone else s position. Children
in this stage also have a lack of knowledge in conservation. They think that if you pour the same
amount of liquid from a small cup to a big cup, the big cup has more. In order to help with this the
parent should introduce objects that change shape such as playdoh and

30. The Trojan War Facts
Trojan War Myth/Fact Tell me, O Muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after
he had sacked the famous town of Troy. (Butler 1835 1902) The epic poem The Iliad and The
Odyssey, is the story of the Greek struggle to rescue Queen Helen from the Trojan captors. Which
led to an all out war between the Achaean Greeks and the Trojans, the name of this war is called
the Trojan War. The Trojan War was a legendary conflict between the early Greeks and the people
of Troy in western Anatolia. In the original story, Paris, son of the Trojan king, ran off with Helen,
wife of Menelaus. Menelaus demanded to have her back, but the Trojans refused, so his brother

The war apparently lasted ten years, when the Greeks finally withdrew, leaving behind a large
wooden horse with a raiding party concealed inside. A man named Sinon was left behind and he
convinced the Trojans to bring the horse inside the city. When the Trojans bought the horse into
the city the party of Greeks opened up the horse and raided the city. Men were massacred, and
women carried off. It also states that the Gods found the war to be so interesting that they
participated themselves, and helped the Greeks take the city of Troy. No one really knows if
this war was a myth or a fact due to the fact that it is presented only briefly in an epic poem. In
order to find evidence of the war, historians have gone to the site of where the war would ve

experiences that have stood out to her the most. In order for the readers to fully understand those

background and something that is considered acceptable in Latin America can differ from what is
acceptable in North America. Cofer goes on to discuss how the way Latin women dress can be
misinterpreted as a come on to men when in fact, that usually isn t the case because dressing that
way is normal and even encouraged by Latin mothers. The point Cofer was trying to display in
her narrative was that the outward appearance of Latin women should not be mistaken with who
they are but rather be considered as part of their culture. This narrative describes a cultural clash
between America s mainstream views and opinions and Latin women who have to struggle with
these stereotypes from a young age. Career Day is one of the examples in which Cofer
experienced falling under one of those stereotypes and feeling like an outcast when the nuns at her
school displayed the Latin girls as the negative models of Career Day. Cofer s strong opinions
against these stereotypes is made clear throughout the story as she explains random instances she
remembers of how others view Latin girls and how the media often objectifies women comparing
them to Hot Tamales and other offensive

permissibility or impermissibility of each topic. Every one of these topics is complex and deserves
careful consideration when trying to determine what is right ethically and which principles in

When discussing PAS, we are not advocating that anyone who no longer wants to live should have
access to the method of palliative care, instead we are saying that those wishing to request this
should meet certain criteria. The states that have already legalized PAS have set guidelines on
when someone can access these services, and according to Radbruch, In contrast to the legal
requirements in European countries, in Oregon, Washington, [Montana,] and Vermont, patients
must have a terminal physical illness in order to qualify for PAS (Radbruch). So these criteria
require the individuals seeking PAS to have a terminal illness which excludes those who might
request this based on their perceived quality of life. Physician Assisted Suicide is a hot topic and
will continue to dominate the bioethics stage for the foreseeable future. The next concept that needs
to be addressed is the slippery slope argument, Beauchamp explains that in his opinion: Judging
from the past track record of our society, we should seriously take into account that the slope of
the trail toward the unjustified taking of life will be so slippery and precipitous that we ought to
never embark on it (Gabriel). One premise of this argument is that if a system has no clear cut
guidelines, there is a lot of room for abuse of the system to occur. Another premise is that if we

is depicted in Figure 1.
MATERIALS:
The materials used for the morphotectonic analysis include:
a) Topographic maps of study area at 1:50,000 scale. b) ASTER Digital Elevation Model c)
Lineament Map. d) Drainage Map of the Study area.
Morphotectonic Analysis: From this analysis we come to know the behavior of the area and we get
information about tectonic control of the area so in this article we have calculated Mountain fronts
synosity index, valley floor width to height ratio and Drainage Basin Asymmetry for Mula river
Basin of the study area.
1. MOUNTAIN FRONT SINUOSITY: This index tell us that whether the fronts of area is active or
not by tectonically. The index is defined as;
Smf = Lmf / Ls Where
Smf= mountain front sinuosity index
Lmf= true distance along the same contour line
Ls= straight line distance along a contour line
The morphology of a mountain front depends upon the degree of tectonic activity along the front.
Active fronts will show straight profiles with lower values of Smf, and inactive or less active
fronts are marked by irregular or more eroded profiles, with higher Smf values (Wells et al., 1988).
In the present study Smf

43. Figural Statues In Ancient Rome
Rome was a powerful empire that took substantial pleasure in creating lifelike figural statues that
they learned from Greek sculptures. However, their unique eyes caught beauty in the imperfection
of the human form instead of washing them over with idealism. There are many surviving statues
that show just how realism played an important role for Roman artist. Contrary to the Greeks,
during the republic and imperial eras, Romestrived to perfect realism, which one sees with their
figural busts and full standing sculptures.
Firstly, the strive to capture literal details can be seen with the way Romans created their busts for
both men and woman. A bust is a sculpture of just a person s head, neck and chest. Busts were very
popular in Roman times and their focus was creating realistic ... Show more content on

Romans are known for their outstanding lifelike full figure statues that replicate the person
flawlessly. While they created figural sculptors of their emperors to celebrate their victories,
they still focused on actual details rather than erasing their imperfections. The bronze statue of
Marcus Aurelius riding horseback, even weathered as it is, one can see creases carved into both
man and horse. As well as, both look like they were captured in a moment of action, which is
depicted with the horses raised hoof and slightly turned head. Another example of this capturing
of realism is of a Roman aristocrat holding the busts of his ancestors. Not only does this show
how this was similar to today s photographs and how important having a bust of a loved one was
to the ancient Romans, but the sculpture itself captures an older gentleman. He was carved to
represent who he was at that moment with balding head and wrinkles. Keeping the sculptures as
real looking as possible was a way of keeping a record of reality and it proved to be extremely
important to them

44. Impact Of The American Broadcasting On The North Coast Of...
A triad of earthquakes has unexpectedly shaken the area of the notorious ring of fire much to the
horror of Ecuadorian and Japanese citizens suffering from their unfortunate consequences. This
was put into perspective by an early Sunday morning television program on the American
Broadcasting Company (ABC), This Week, displayed a live segment on April 18, 2016, that
presented a breakdown on the recent earthquakes that hit Equator and Japan in the past few days.
Equator was granted a closer look seeing as it was challenged by an severe 7.8 magnitude
earthquakewhich left over three hundred and fifty dead and thousands more wounded from it
massive destruction which has a tendency to rise even further with the passage of time. Another
similar incident occurred twice in Japan which left it even more problematic to retrieve other
survivor under insecure wreckages that offer only a risk in collapsing to the ground. It is
undesirable actuality for the west coast of the United Statesas it will be more than likely confronted
by an earthquake owing to its connection as part of the on the volatile ring of fire. Ultimately, these
nations death toll is threatening to rise even more which is definitely much of a concerning subject
matter for numerous individuals like me.
Accordingly, Equator was shaking in its knees by the shock of a great earthquake that demolished

45. Sociological Imagination Essay
From The Sociological Imagination by C. Wright Mills addresses a distinction between personal
troubles and public issues. Mills uses specific examples like unemployment and societal
development. Mills explains the ability to connect the individual problems with societal problems.
Throughout the text, we can see how Mills uses the perspective of an individual to explain the
perspective of society and vice versa. Using sociological imagination, I will explain how education
is influenced by society and history, and how there is positive and negative lessons to be taken out
of The Sociological Imagination. In the text (From The Sociological Imagination), Mills uses

For myself and most people in Canadian society, education is a major part of our lives. Most
people will spend at least a quarter of their lives in the educational system. Using the school
system as an example, in my experience knowing people that have failed a subject, it was due to
the fact they didn t study or do the work which put them at a disadvantage compared to the other
students in the grade, but there could be social, economic, or historical reasons which lead to
you doing those things. If you come from a poor family, for example, you might need to spend
so much time working that you do not have time to study. A societal issue of this would involve
in the whole grade failing this course. If this happens, then the solution would not be an individual
one, rather the solution would be the school system taking a look into this and making any
required changes to the course. A reason for this many students failing could be that the students
were not given the resources necessary to succeed. Potentially the school did not have the funding
to teach a course properly. This societal issue could result in many students not move further in
their education which puts them at a disadvantage. This then can cause long lasting historical
problems as it becomes a vicious cycle. A person comes from a poor family and goes to a bad
school, they then do badly in school and either don t complete it or move on

Title: Presence of L2 accent in L3 Acquisition
1. Introduction:
Second language acquisition (L2) has been often regarded as an important stage for language
learning after acquired the first language. However, it is evident that Third Language Acquisition
(L3) has become increasingly important and it is a new and hot topic for many scholars due to
the multilingual culture in nowadays society. Over the past few decades, many scholars have
investigated that L3 acquisition is more specific as L3 learners have already had an L2 in mind
which they acquired certain linguistic knowledge. Gut (2009) mentioned that the learners could
apply the previous language learning experience onto the learning process of a new language.
Thus, L3 learners are more competitive as they became bilingual speaker after the acquisition of
two languages and they are able to draw more linguistic competence and cognitive skills and
perform better than monolingual speaker. In addition, Lipinska (2015) stated that L3 pronunciation
research is still an undeveloped topic to be investigated and more research are required to
elaborate the reason behind the effect of L1 and L2 imposed on L3 production. ... Show more

Lastly, there is currently a third party company that deals with workman s compensation data. This
company will have remote access to only parts of the system that deal directly with workman s
compensation. The Human Resources department can then request that data from them via the new
system.
System Processes Depending on the employee will determine the experience with this system. The
employee will first open up the application. The application will then ask the user to enter their
personal identification number uniquely created for usage of this system and they will also
input a unique password also created only for the use of this system. The system will then ask
the user if they are a Workman s Compensation user, a Human Resources user, Compensation
user, Employee Relations user, or a Department Management user. Then the system will request
a department serial code. Once the user is logged into the system it will display any updates for
the system, or dates and times the system will be down for maintenance. If the user is a Human
Resources employee, the system will give them access to certain abilities, actions, and data based
on their log in information, and department serial code. The Human Resource user is outlined
below (Figure n). The Human Resource employee will be able to access incoming requests for
data and requests for changes of data through a list that looks very

48. The Reformation Of England And Germany
After the reformation had reached parts of England and Germany, John Knox started preaching
the reformation to Scotland. Knox sought to win over the many Catholics that were in
Scotland. He had many opportunities to preach at St. Andrews church and his teachings were
very popular among the people. Due to his rising popularity and demand, one of the leaders in
the church, Rough, asked him to consider taking a position in the church as a preacher. Knox
quickly denied saying he wouldn t take the position unless it was God s calling on his life.
However, Rough wasn t letting him go that easily, the next Sunday Rough did a sermon on God
s will and calling and asked the congregation to express to Knox their desire for him to be their
pastor. This brought tears to Knox s eyes and he left the church and locked himself in his
chambers for a couple days pondering his decision. Ultimately he took the call and began to preach
at the church. Knox criticized the functions of the Catholic church in his sermons comparing
certain aspects of it to Daniel 7:24 25. Knox said that the text, showed that the lives of clergy, from
popes downwards; how the doctrines of the Church, particularly that of justification through works
of man s invention ; how ecclesiastical enactments such as clerical celibacy, compulsory fasting,
and observance of days; and how such blasphemous pretensions as those which claimed papal
infallibility and power over purgatory all combined proved that the Roman church

50. How Does Maya Angelou Relate To Racism
Maya Angelou and the Theme of Racism
Poems provide a new insight and portray many meanings. Maya Angelou, born in 1928, was a
highly achieved, versatile woman whom is an author, poet, dancer, and actress. In her poems and
in life, racism is integrated. This is seen in Angelou s familial and other life experiences, the
literary devices seen in Still I Rise, and the extension of the metaphor in Caged Bird.
Maya Angelou was born in St. Louis, MO and soon later moved to a segregated part of AK,
known as Stamps. This relocation was because of her parents divorce and Angelou was only 3
when it happened. When this 7 year old girl was visiting her mother back in MO, she suffered at
the hands of a family associate (Maya Angelou Biography). According to Poetry Foundation,
Maya was raped by her mother s boyfriend. As a result of this crime , Maya s uncles killed this
man. This man was able to be killed because seeing Angelou was black, this man only received a
one day sentence for the rape. This time, 1930 s, was still a time for racism. As a child, these
traumatic events caused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

51. The Pros And Cons Of Biological Warfare
Throughout the course of history, several methods of warfare have been practiced. One of the
standard procedures for war is to use weapons such as pistols, shotguns, grenades, and automatic
infantry. The other method is known as biological warfare, which is the use of diseases and other
biological agents to harm enemies or citizens of an opposing country. Considering that the world
flourishes in science today, scientists are researching for more efficient ways to handle war, which
is were biological warfare comes in. After this method was discovered, many armies looked to it as
the savior of war. Unfortunately, people are not aware of the many consequences that biological
warfare holds.
Biological weaponry offers a couple of positives. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Biological warfare presents many problems compared to the positives. First off, biological
weapons can potentially live in infected areas for long periods of time. For example, one of the
more common diseases used in biological warfare is Anthrax. Anthrax has the capability to
transform into spores which protects the bacteria for decades (Hoyle). This offers the chance of
spreading the biological agent in the future to other people who were unintended targets. Another
example is the incapacitating agent known as the bomblet. When used, the bomblet leaves a
remainder of five percent of the agent behind (Eitzen). If the leftover agent is identified, the
opponent can research and produce a medical treatment, rendering the agent useless. Another major
disadvantage relates to the U.S. The knowledge of the general population is that the U.S. holds no
biological weapons (Eitzen). If this is true, another country could easily attack us with biological
agents and the U.S. army would not know how to approach such a devastating hit. Although
biological warfare is cost effective, this means enemies can get ahold of the agents easier and
research more. I believe that if a group of terrorists were to spend a decent amount of time studying
the agent and manipulating it, the agent could become super

55. Hamlet Strengths And Weaknesses
Strength is essential to overcome obstacles, however people in similar circumstances may have
disparate decisions, leading to various outcomes and consequences. In spite of all challenges,
discouragements and impossibilities; strength distinguishes a strong soul from a weak one.
Through the literatures of William Shakespeare, Miriam Toews and Lawrence Hill, it is evident that
ethics and morality play an important role in affecting decisions of the main characters. Assuredly,
Hamlet, Naomi and Aminata, participate in situations where their courage is tested to its fullest,
impacting their fate; for the better and for the worse. Despite bearing cultural and periodic
differences, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, A Complicated Kindnessby Miriam Toews and The
Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill all demonstrate judgements that enrich and destroy the lives of
the protagonists and of those around them. Firstly, Hamlet in Hamlet shows dreadful judgement
by consuming himself in revengeance, resulting in his own downfall. Hamlet becomes obsessed
with avenging his uncle, King Claudius for murdering his father, King Hamlet. As a result of this,
corruption takes hold of Hamlet s life, in which it becomes full of hatred, reprisal and bloodlust.
Hamlet questions himself of which act is more noble. Is it more noble to suffer from the wrong
deeds that one has done onto another or if it is more noble to end the suffering by fighting? In this
soliloquy, it is clear that Hamlet is torn between
