Economic Evaluation Essay
The change in health profiles of the population and the evolution of medical technology have made
more explicit the gap between what medicine can do and what is economically feasible (Fuchs,
2000). Resources to satisfy needs are scarce and every society must decide how better to allocate
the scarce resource among the different alternative uses. Economicstries to address the normative
question of which allocation of resources is best for the society. The answer to such question
depends crucially on the objective being pursued. When comparing different alternatives, under the
classical assumptions of competitive markets (the Arrow Debreu economy) and Pareto efficiency, a
reallocation is said to be efficient if no one in the economy is made... Show more content on

This is the so called Hicks Kaldor criterion, which allows making judgements about policies
without making inter personal comparisons. However, there are two problems with this criterion:
marginal utility of income must be the same across individuals and it may be the case that a
movement back to the original allocation increase welfare, so it would be impossible to define
which allocation is better. Also, the information that would be needed to collect makes the
application of this criterion quite infeasible.
This is the theoretical basis for many cost benefit studies in health care that rely on methods like
contingent valuation to measure benefits from health care interventions. If this is the theoretical
basis for cost benefit analysis, it means the acceptance of Pareto optimality concept and its related
distributional implications. Individual utility is what is being maximised and individuals are
assumed to be the best judges of their own welfare.
Given the limitations of the welfarist approach, some have argued to rely on explicit welfare
functions to aggregate individuals preferences and explicitly address the issues of distribution, but
as Arrow demonstrated, it is impossible to aggregate individual preferences in a coherent way.
Working on the Sen s ideas, it was showed that interpersonal comparisons were the

It was now dark and the moon gave a shape on the glossy water. Pulling out of my dive I skimmed

The Issue Of New Zealand
New Zealand is one of the countries in the world that has unwritten consititution and it is vital
because it is the base of a government on how to govern a country based on it. Having a written
constitution in New Zealand will give New Zealanders more access about certain documents on the
consitution itself. On the other hand, if New Zealandcontinuously having an unwritten constitution,
the citizen may not have knowledge on it due to limited access on it. This essay will clarify on
constitution and what is a written constitution. This essay also covers the need to include the
Constitution Act 1986, the Public Finance Act 1989 and the Arms Act 1983 and removing the
Public Sector Act 1988 from it.
Constitution is the basic principles and laws of a nation, state or social groups that determine the
powers and duties of the government and guarantee certain rights to the citizen (Merriam Webster
online dictionary, n.d). In other words, it is a set of guidelines for a government to exercise the
given power.
New Zealand is currently practicing democracy system, a system where the powers are vested in
the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representations such as
public elections (Merriam Webster online dictionary, n.d). Hence, parliamentary elections must be
done every three years to elect new members of Parliament (MPs). On 1986, the formation of
Constitution Act 1986 make UK completely powerless to legislate for New Zealand as the residual

Colonization Of The New World s Mission
Colonization is the act of setting up a colony away from one s place of origin (Colonization,
2015) .The history of the colonization of Massachusetts and Georgia is very interesting both of
these two colonies were founded under basically the same premises which were seeking a better
life. However, there are some similarities and differences that are evident. The founders of the
New World s mission were freedom. However, their number reasoning was spiritual freedom.
They were tired of the Church of England. Pilgrims and Puritans sought to recreate society in the
manner they believed God truly intended it to be designed (Kennedy, Cohen, Bailey, 2009).
England s success at colonizing was due in large part to its use of contact or (charter) companies.
Charter companies were groups of shareholders who were seek personal financial wealth. Because
the colonies were so slow to make profits in the beginning, the charter companies would leave the
colonists to build their own lives, their own communities, and their own economy, to start building
the fundamentals of a new nation. There were three main premises for the foundation of the New
World. The three main reasons were religion, economics, and government. For those three main
reasons, colonist search to find a place full of economic opportunities and religious freedom. They
also were looking for a place where they could have a type of government that was not run by with

Romeo And Juliet Forbidden Love
Examine the theme of love in Romeo and Juliet. How does Shakespeare explore this theme? In
William Shakespeare s play written in 1595, Romeo and Juliet explores the theme of love, as the
two star crosses lovers who come from two different conflicting families that hate each other s
guts, yet fate brings them together and despite the grudge that each family holds for the other.
Young Romeo is seen though impulsive and immature, his idealism and passion make him an
extremely likable character. He lives in the middle of a violent feud between his family and the
Capulets, but he is not at all interested in violence. Meanwhile, Juliet appears to be just another teen
girl infatuated with a young boy. Forbidden Love: As the feud between the... Show more content on

Montague is a good father and he asks Benvolio to discover Romeo s problem. Romeo, of course,
is the victim of unrequited love. Lord Capulet also shows signs of being a good father. When
Count Paris asks for Juliet s hand in marriage, Capulet displays his concern for his daughter by
urging Paris to win her love. Juliet s happiness is important and he will not agree to marry her
unless she is satisfied with the choice. He tells Paris in Act I, Scene 2, But woo her, gentle Paris,
get her heart; My will to her consent is but a part. And, she agreed, within her scope of choice
lies my consent and fair according voice. Later, Capulet changes his mind. Even then, though, he
is thinking of his family when he tries to bring a day of joy with a wedding after the death of
Tybalt, Juliet s cousin. The Nurse, who must be considered a member of the Capulet family, is
obviously very loving toward Juliet. In Act I, Scene 3, she talks about how she literally nursed
the girl. She says, Thou wast the prettiest babe that e er I nursed. Conclusion: To conclude, Romeo
and Juliet share a very loving relationship since their very strong friendship at the start. In the
reader s mind, it is truly insanity if you could imagine these two lovers only having met just a few
short days ago yet, still sharing a wonderful connection, knowing they are truly in love, and not just
love struck. as some say. Word Count:

Argumentative Essay On Mascots
Currently in the NFL, the Washington Redskins are being faced with a staggering controversy:
Should they change they change their mascot as a result of Native Americans viewing it is a racial
discriminatory (Angle 2016)? Dating back to 1933, when the Washington NFL team abandoned the
original title of Braves and adopted Redskins, the debate has since been longstanding (Hylton
2014). Native Americans are challenging the team to rid them, along with all team mascot names
relating to their culture countrywide, of their title, but the mascot names have no negative
connotation and should not be protested against. The controversy relates back to the 1900s when
Native Americans began to feel oppressed and teams began using their titles as mascot (Brady
2016). During this period regulations forbade Native Americans to speak their language, practice
their religions or leave their reservations (Brady 2016). To enforce this, laws were passed to
transform the Native Americans into the white culture (Brady 2016). In other... Show more content

viewed positively (Sommers 2012). Furthermore, recent studies have been highly inaccurate and
unreliable. A poll done by the Washington Post announced that 9 out of 10 Native Americans do not
oppose their titles as mascots. Nevertheless, the Washington Post poll was conducted exclusively by
telephone (Rosenstein 2017). This resulted in a highly unreliable product. It is unknown how many
Native Americans legitimately protest these mascots. Therefore, a correct claim cannot be argued
regarding the total sum of Native Americans that object Native American

Some more facts about pediatric speech therapy The parents need to be very observant when it
comes to noticing the all over development of the child. Many times the parents get too upset about

Reincarnation Is A Philosophical Idea
Introduction:
The purpose of this report is to make the audience aware about the strange yet intriguing superstition
that is reincarnation.
What Reincarnation Is Believed To Be:
Reincarnation is a philosophical religious concept where the aftermath of a drastic, liberating
biological death results in the soul being reborn into another body. The self explanatory Latin
definition expressing the words entering the flesh again. Indians are one of the strong main
believers of reincarnation whilst Christians are strictly against the believing of this practice.
Recorded cases of reincarnation are between the ages of two and five years old and sometimes a
questioning seven years at the oldest. Many people are impervious to the idea of a soul because of
how completely encased it is around around religious and dogma credulity. Some scientists quite
confidently adhere that being able to consciously detach from the body and rehabilitating towards a
new body does indeed happen. Scientists figure that it is a result from dramatic death experiences.
Scientific Proof Of Existence:
There is in fact hard evidence of soul existence and reincarnation. This is quite a large fact to a
claim to, but reincarnation is indisputable and cannot be attributed to many explanations apart
from chance being the most logical. But like lots of other situations we do not necessarily need
hard copy proof to believe in something. For example, if the news was to tell us that there is a
65% chance that it will

Hordes of private equity professionals, venture capitalists and investment bankers are making a
beeline to identify lucrative business opportunities in India. Some of the profitable exits
announced on the global private equity stage, the arrival of the Indian market as a hot
destination with immense potential for private equity funds, and its readiness to embrace the
global private equity with open arms. Today, some of the world s leading private equity firms
like Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group and General Atlantic Partners, and Actis Partners are
firmly established in India. Some of the Indian firms like ICICI, IDFC and Kotak are also
increasing their investments. And many new foreign PE funds like Lightspeed Venture Partners,
Providence Equity Partners and Apex Venture Partners are planning to venture into India.
Coming to the global picture global trends show that the private equity (PE) industry was once
dominated by North America but recent years have seen global emergence of the industry. US
still contributes a two thirds of the total funds raised globally and it does not seem to be changing
in the near future. However, an interesting fact is that the proportion of the investment going back
to US is gradually decreasing every year. Till the last few years, almost 60% funds were invested
back in US with only 25% going to Europe and remaining landing in Asia Pacific. But the

Essay on Sealed Air Taiwan Case Analysis
Case Summary:
The central issue Sealed Air Taiwan is currently facing is how to determine if the newly hired,
Paul Huang, can produce the necessary sales results and whether he fits the mold for his position
as sales manager. Historically, Sealed Air Taiwan was struggling with both stagnant sales and high
operating costs. The branch was not adapting well to the Sealed Air s established business model
and there were even talks of shutting the branch down. Bob Kayser was brought in to turn things
around and quickly realized that the problem this branch was facing was a cultural divide between
Taiwanese beliefs and the current United States business model. After training and extensive work
improving the sales team, Kayser was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are, however, legitimate concerns if Huang s personality and management style will fit the
Sealed Air mold of what a sales manager needs to accomplish. Huang seems very data and numbers
driven, while Sealed Air was really looking for someone who could spend their time in the field
managing the representatives rather than analyzing data. Although some of Steinke s issues with
Huang seem to be mere cross cultural misunderstandings there does seem to be disconnected
between Huang s personal strengths and the desired expectations as a sales manager.
Recommendations:
It is our recommendation to remain with Huang and keep him in his current role as sales
manager. The first reason for this recommendation is that in the past Sealed Air and Kayser have
made the mistake of trying to solve the problems in Taiwan with American solutions. Steinke s
problems with Huang are primarily based on what is expected from an American sales manager.
He is not taking into consideration that Taiwanese employees are motivated by different types of
leaders and respond to different types of management styles. Kayser, for example, was only
successful when he gave up the idea of employee empowerment and realized that these employees
preferred to be given specific instructions.
Huang is also an appropriate fit for this role because he understands Chinese culture. He has already
been successful in a Chinese sales environment

Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2 Analysis
William Shakespeare s Hamlet is an enduring revenge tragedy which reflects the philosophical
values and concepts of the Renaissance era. The humanistic and existentialistic natures of man, as
well as the process of scepticism have a significant impact on the ways one reacts to external factors.
Shakespeare explores how one reacts to their context, encapsulating these philosophies throughout
the play.
Caught on the bridge between the Middle Ages and the enlightenment period, the Renaissance era
opened up a wide array of philosophical values concerning the humanistic and existentialistic
natures of man. At this point in history, man surpassed God at centre stage, with the newfound
ability to reason and self determine. Linked to this is the existentialistic ... Show more content on

It is this philosophical scepticism which corrupts the mind of Hamlet, as he embarks on a journey
to foil his uncle s betrayal through his antic disposition . This feigned madness is one of the central
elements of the play, bringing about one of the most discussed questions; whether Hamlet was
actually mad or not. His disposition is also linked to the recurring motif of surveillance, blurring the
lines between appearance and reality. Hamlet s soliloquy in Act 2 Scene 2 acts as a catalyst for
change, springing Hamlet into action as he formulates a surveillance scheme to discover the truth
of King Claudius treachery. Through this, one can assert that while Hamlet captures the essence of
madness, his deep thinking and speculation indicates that he is essentially only mad in craft . It is
because of his scepticism that Hamlet meticulously utilises the metafictional play within a play to
observe his[Claudius ] looks , and hence know my[his] course and kill Claudius. The fact that acting
itself is putting on false appearances symbolises and further highlights the distortion of truth within
this revenge tragedy full of dishonesty. Hamlet s introspective character is able to engage with the
audience through his many soliloquies in which he reveals his suspicions and unadulterated
thoughts. The structure of the play reflects

My Moment In My Life
I looked up and saw a smiling baby with blue eyes, so sweet and innocent. Who knew life would
throw these obstacles at us? Only a few days old and her future was in jeopardy. The young child
had already pushed through life changing surgeries. Personal experiences effect everybody,
some happy while others are not as joyful. Sometimes all you can do is hope that there is a
chance things can go your way. But the hardest part is staying strong for those you love. Within
the span of her life a sweet little angel was in and out of Tampa Regional Medical Hospital, came
home for a whole month until the day that changed everything. Airlifted back to the Hospital for
a ruptured incision; which she had gotten from a surgery when she was just an infant. Slowly it
became clear that this little blue eyed girl would never catch a break. The baby s mother, who is
my brother s best friend s girlfriend, posted on Facebook, a Social Media site, every couple of
minutes updating her loved ones about information on her precious baby. As the minutes
proceeded to crawl by slower and slower I started to become worried. When I finally arrived at
the hospital, I received the message I was dreading, they had moved into the Intensive Care Unit

toward the ICU; we entered the room to see a crowd of familiar faces gathered by a hospital bed.

The Existence of God Essay
The Existence of God
What we call religious experience can differ greatly. Some reports exist of supernatural
happenings that it would be difficult to explain from a rational, scientific point of view. On the
other hand, there also exist the sorts of testimonies that simply seem to convey a feeling or a peace
of oneness something which most of us, religious or not, may possibly relate to.
Firstly, I will consider the nature of an experience. Experience involves encounters which are
empirical (testable via senses). We draw non empirical conclusions about many things and people
that they have orange hair and are 5 feet tall, that they are lonely and confused. These conclusions
are mainly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is known through testimonies of the recipients of these experiences.
In categorising religious experiences is helpful to look at them as explicable through one of two
theories: the objectivist thesis or the subjectivist thesis.
The objectivist view supposes that there is some object or actual entity such as god which exists
independently of the experience, interaction which causes the experience itself. God is described
as numinous. This is a term often used to describe the experience in which God s separateness is
highlighted. This was put forward by Rudolf Otto in his book The Idea of the Holy. Otto religion
sprang from experience of the holly. Because the word numinous has many associations he used
numen, something which is wholly other than the natural world
An objectivist would argue that the religious experience is a proof of God s existence. However,
others have criticised the reliability of religious experiences. The English philosopher Thomas
Hobbes asked how it was possible to tell the differences between talking to God in a dream, and
dreaming about talking to God. The objectivist thesis is ultimately the most traditional viewpoint
since it views God as object that is, something which exists independently of us (such as a table or
another person). However,

The Jack Welch Era at General Electric

Such curve is really helpful in the beginning. Before Welch control the GE, there existed two
bureaucracy problems. One was too many vice presidents and too many staffs with authority to

staffs off, and also increase the enthusiasm of the staffs. Besides, his generously rewarded managers
who achieved performance goals that turned everyone in GE work harder and with high energy

Employees in GE can confront their bosses to express frustration with bureaucratic practices and
suggest more efficient alternatives freely. Thousands of such sessions were held to drive out the
bureaucratic mentality. However, some found this system is heartless, because no one wants to be
the bottom 10%. It also caused the high unemployment and no diversity at the top. Welch disagreed
with those who found the system heartless; he called it s a false kindness to feel heartless. Thus,
during his tenure, profits with the mental stress of staffs growth together. Since the process was
repeated annually, and each times the bottom 10 percent had to go, unemployment rate increased
rapidly. Welch thought this process can lower the business costs, but it is wrong to see

How Did Rasputin Influence The Paranoia
THE PARANOIA AROUND THE RUSSIAN MYSTIC INFLUENCER GRIGORI EFIMOVICH
RASPUTIN WAS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR THAT LED TO THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION.
Rasputin was a Russian mystic/holy man who was close to the Tsar Nicolas II of Russia and his
family from 1906 1916. It was believed that Rasputin had a special relationship with the Tsarina
Alexandra Feodoronva and had some sort of influence over her decisions. Due to people s paranoia,
they slowly distrusted, and subsequently overthrew, the Russian government under the Romanov
Dynasty, which had ruled since 1613. This distrust and fear led way for the murder of the Tsar and
his family. All this set into motion the development of the Soviet Union, Berlin Wall, and the
Communist party.

The common people no longer trusted the Tsar to keep them safe, they could have faith no longer.
Prince Felix Yusupov, who was married to the Tsar s niece Princess Irina Alexandrovna of Russia
,
decided to take matters into his own hands. He lured Rasputin to his home, though how he did
this is unclear. It is generally believed, however, that Rasputin thought he would be meeting
Yusupov s attractive wife. Yusupov laced pastries and wine with cyanide, enough to kill several
men. Rasputin ate and drank, but did not die, in fact it seemed, the poison had no effect. Still,
Yusupov was determined and shot Rasputin in the back. Rasputin fell to the floor, and with no
pulse or signs of life, was presumed dead. A while later, when Yusupov and his friends had been
celebrating upstairs, Yusupov decided to check on the body. Rasputin opened his eyes which were
allegedly green like a viper. Yusupov and company chased Rasputin, shooting him two more times
and beating him with a rubber club. They then tied him up and tossed him into the Neva River.
Rasputin s death is shrouded in mystery, as it seems he got free of the binds enough to outstretch
his arm, though he had apparently been shot in the head. The autopsy report listed his cause of
death as hypothermia, furthering the legend that Rasputin may have been a real magic man.

It s Time for a Supranational Sustainable Development Authority
The ingenuity of man that lead to the unprecedented global development of the twentieth century
would certainly not have been possible without the earth s rich natural resources. In this century,
Earth has endured a population explosion, yet still has the agricultural capacity to nourish a global
population of over six million people. At the same time, the quality of life in industrialized nations
is perceived to have risen in tandem with the availability and affordability of mass produced
consumer products made possible by the resourceful use of raw materials and energy. Many trumpet

Then, I will evaluate various perspectives on attaining sustainable development. Lastly, I will argue
in support of two paradigm shifts necessary for serious implementation of public policy initiatives
aimed at its promotion.
An Introduction to Sustainable Development
In 1980 and again in 1992, Presidents Jimmy Carter and George Bush faced rough economic times
and partially blamed environmental policy. Both presidents men that had campaigned as
environmentalists scaled back environmental regulation in hopes of stimulating the economy and
their re election campaigns (Krupp). The men failed on both accounts, and compromised
environmental protection for supposed economic benefits.
Evidence suggests that the environment need not be pitted against economic well being as Bush,
Carter, and many others have done; sustainable development is the key to ensuring well being of
today s citizens as well as future generations.
A 1996 essay by British Member of Parliament Chris Smith analyzed many of the jobs versus
environment claims made by opponents of environmental regulation. Chris Smith states that lost
jobs often attributed to environmental legislation would often have soon been eliminated anyway;
in many cases, environmental policy serves as a convenient scapegoat. He cites incidents in which
jobs are actually created by enactment of environmentally friendly public policy. For example, a

Is Hamlet A Tragedy Essay
The play Hamlet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. The play is about a Prince who
was called from the school of Denmark to attend his father s funeral. He was shocked to see his
Queen mother already remarried to his uncle Claudius whom he suspects to be responsible for his
father s death. Hamletthen promised to take revenge on his father s murder.
The play Hamlet is considered as Aristotle s Poetics because it is a well written tragedy. According
to Aristotle, the most important element of the tragedy is plot and followed by others such as
character, diction, thought, song and spectacle. Aristotle defined tragedy as an imitation of an
action that is serious, complete and of a certain magnitude. Aristotelian tragedy is not a narrative ...

Hamartia is a flaws or character s own error which brings a terrible result. For example, Hamlet
hesitates to kill his cruel uncle leads to bring his own destruction. Stabbing Polonius behind the
curtain and his painful action towards his lover Ophelia and declaring that she should be sent to
nunnery which seems to have lost his mind. This leads to his downfall. The second concept
according to Aristotle is Anagnorisis/Recognition which is when the character recognizes the hard
truth. When Hamlet returns to Denmark after his ship is hijacked by pirates, he learns that
Ophelia has committed suicide because of her madness and over her father s death, he realized
his flaw of having mistakenly murder her father and he is unsuccessful in expressing his love and
proposing her for marriage. Another example is, by the end of the novel, Hamlet and audiences
both are convinced that Uncle Claudius killed his father and planning to kill him as well. Another
example is when Hamlet realizes and recognizes his faults after seeing his enemy actively seeking

Free education is what the Government should provide the returning combat soldiers to keep them
off the streets and being homeless. G.I. Bill, U.S. legislation passed in 1944 that provided benefits
to World War II veterans. Through the Veterans Administration , the bill provided grants for school

additional VA hospitals. Later legislation made the benefits to all who had served in the armed

Soybeans, Maize, And Rapeseed Essay
Soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are raw commodities where the primary use is inputs in the feed,
food, and drink industries. Appendix A Figure 2.A.1 lists the wide spectrum of food industries
where soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are used as inputs. Since the value of these crops is low
compared to the final products in which they are typically inputs infers that transport and storage
must often be organized in bulk in order for operational and transaction costs to be kept low.
The current supply chain structure in which these crops are traded creates several possibilities
for impurities or co mingling. It is common practice in food safety regulations to allow a
minimum presence of unintended materials like dirt, weed seeds, and mycotoxins in crop
shipments (Backus et al. 2008). However, this may not always be the case regarding the
unintended presence of traces of an unapproved GM event in the non GM crops (whether crops
where no GM approvals have been made or crops where GM varieties have been
commercialized). For example, the EU has a zero tolerance level for unapproved GM events in the
shipments of crops. Thus, the case of asynchronous approval of GM varieties and differing
thresholds for LLP among countries can lead to important impediments to trade. These can include
returning, relocation, or destroying cargos of non GM varieties at the importing country s port as a
result of the unintended presence of GM traits. Also, with the growing number of GM events being

Creating A Website For An Effective Website
Having a website allows your network to benefit from an online presence and educate customers
to its business. But what does it take to create such a website? What are the steps needed to
create and operate an effective website, a site that encourages customers to do business with
you? Technically, the creation of a single site is not something difficult: thousands of new sites
are appearing on the web on a daily basis. But this apparition proves to be a handicap in terms of
appearance and operation. Here are 6 steps to create a site likely to leave a favorable impression
in the minds of customers, actual and potential. 1. Think about the goal, to the look and feel of
your site Begin this discussion by assessing other similar sites in your industry or other network
sites. Determine what you think is useful or not useful at these sites. Ask yourself the following
questions: What connection is there between fashion design, use of illustrations and colors or tone
of the text and the activity itself? Does the site offers easy access to the information that most
customers have an immediate need? Will they want to visit it again, and why? Is it clear that the
information will be updated on a regular basis? The fact to consider other sites allow you to better
understand what you expect from yours. 3. Remove a domain name Your domain name is the
Internet address that users type into their browser to find your site. For example,
www.votreentrepise.com. You must file all domain

Reflection Of A Reflection On Teaching
Reflection for Co Teaching This semester was my first time working with 3rd graders at an IB
school. This type of school is structured much differently than all the other elementary schools in
Jefferson County. The curriculum at this school is a concept driven curriculum that helps students
construct meaning through improved critical thinking skills. This means that the lessons taught are
inquiry based. Inquiry based instruction is centered on posing questions and establishing facts
through exploration rather than simply presenting the facts to the students. With that being said,
my cooperating teacher (CT) planned a very interactive Science lesson to get his students engaged
in learningand doing Science. My CT told me that he did not have a specific book to teach with,
yet he had essential questions and standards that needed to be met in Science. The lesson was
centered on the 3rd grade Colorado academic standard 2, concept 2, which pertained to the
concept of the duration and timing of life cycle events in different organisms. The essential
question of how humans can have a negative or positive impact on the life cycle of animals and
insects was also a guiding factor in the lesson. My CT and one of his co workers that taught 3rd
grade came up with this lesson with the help of the ButterflyPavilion, who provided specimens,
exploration, and butterfly holder nets for the classroom.
This lesson was a great activity that captivated an idea learned in my college class that

Google Glass, A Wearable Computing Device
Abstract
This report aims to look at how Google Glass, a wearable computing device, contributes to social
and privacy ethical implications. Ethical issues recognised in devices can question the legal rights
of a product. However, a study shows that this device may have an opportunity to enhance the
quality of the surgical industry. If so, should this device still be used amidst the ethical issues?
1Introduction
1.1Wearable Technology
Wearable computing is a technology device that can be worn on the human body and often includes
devices that can collect information and may even have motion detectors. Wi Fi or Bluetooth
tethering is used to connect the device with an internet connection. Evolving examples of wearable
technology include smart watches, clothing and jewellery, sports watches, fitness trackers, head
mounted displays and devices that can be implanted in the body.
1.2Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is technology that allows virtual objects to be layered on to the actual
environment in real time. Together, this creates a space called mixed reality. The layers allow
detailed information about the world to be visually present whilst wearing the device. AR
browsers can enhance camera display with information that is relevant to the place you are at. If
you point the device to a building, it can display the details of the building on the building.
2Defining Ethical Implications
Ethical implications are issues that arise within the invention

The Pros And Cons Of Representative Democracy
We chose to institute a direct democracy instead of a representative democracy. A direct
democracy occurs when all of the citizens propose and vote on laws. This is modeled after the
Assembly in ancient Athens. In contrast, a representative democracy happens when the people
elect a representative who proposes laws for them and a group of government officials vote to pass
or reject the law, which is similar to the current government of the United Statesof America. One of
the biggest issues with a representative democracyis that it s very easy to influence or bribe the
officials. As a result, the bribers nearly always have the officials on their side. These bribes are in
the form of campaign donations. An example of this bribery would be... Show more content on

Not all of the positions for government offices are filled through an election; many are filled
simply by an important government official deciding who gets the job. This correlates with the
issue mentioned previously about bias. In the United States of America, the seats for the
Supreme Court are filled by the President rather than an election. Therefore, if the President is
very conservative, he will appoint judges to the Supreme Court who have rulings which contain
more conservative than liberal ideas. In addition, many other governmental posts are filled with
people who are liked by those in higher positions. This proves one of the biggest arguments
against a representative government. Even though people choose the representatives, there are
so many positions that are filled without an election, the people don t actually have a voice in the
selection process. But the biggest benefit of a direct democracy is that the people actually get a
say instead of appointing a representative and hoping that the representatives won t end up being
close minded to the needs of all the people. Also, because the people will actually get a say, then
there won t always be complaints that someone didn t get a voice. Of course there will still be
people who are unhappy, but this is to be expected in a democratic system. A direct democracy
dismantles almost all of the other

Ontological Argument Vs Design Argument
Of the three theistic arguments presented by the text, I find the design , or the teleological
argument to be the most persuasive because unlike the other two arguments (ontological and first

ontological and first cause argument are both more based in pure logic and reasoning, and they
also can both be easily challenged for the same reason. On the other hand, the design argument
focuses less on how the existence of Godcould be explained in the terms of a catalyst , and more
how there is a statistically improbable amount of order in our universe(called Maximally Orderly
Huge Universe ). Put simply, the design argument states that since there

The Story Behind Why Brady Street Should Be Changed All throughout the history of Tulsa,
Oklahoma there has been many racially charged tragedies that have happened. Many people

World Toilet Day. Although it is unclear as to who invented the first latrine, for Homo sapiens,
public toilets are one of the major markers for sophistication as a species. With eradicating
unrestricted urination and defecation behaviors, this helps humans to keep cities clean and overall
reduces the risk of disease.
With this knowledge at hand, one could infer that other mammals have adapted this same behavior

Economicstries to address the normative question of which allocation of resources is best for the society. The answer to such question depends crucially on the objective being pursued. When comparing different alternatives, under the classical assumptions of competitive markets (the Arrow Debreu economy) and Pareto efficiency, a reallocation is said to be efficient if no one in the economy is made... My hand touched the water leaving it ripple behind me. Then I beat my wings and took off up into the stars. In William Shakespeare s play written in 1595, Romeo and Juliet explores the theme of love, as the two star crosses lovers who come from two different conflicting families that hate each other s guts, yet fate brings them together and despite the grudge that each family holds for the other. Young Romeo is seen though impulsive and immature, his idealism and passion make him an extremely likable character. Argumentative Essay On Mascots Currently in the NFL, the Washington Redskins are being faced with a staggering controversy: Should they change they change their mascot as a result of Native Americans viewing it is a racial discriminatory (Angle 2016)? Dating back to 1933, when the Washington NFL team abandoned the original title of Braves and adopted Redskins, the debate has since been longstanding (Hylton 2014). Native Americans are challenging the team to rid them, along with all team mascot names relating to their culture countrywide, of their title, but the mascot names have no negative connotation and should not be protested against. The humanistic and existentialistic natures of man, as well as the process of scepticism have a significant impact on the ways one reacts to external factors. Shakespeare explores how one reacts to their context, encapsulating these philosophies throughout the play. Caught on the bridge between the Middle Ages and the enlightenment period, the Renaissance era opened up a wide array of philosophical values concerning the humanistic and existentialistic natures of man. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is this philosophical scepticism which corrupts the mind of Hamlet, as he embarks on a journey to foil his uncle s betrayal through his antic disposition . This feigned madness is one of the central elements of the play, bringing about one of the most discussed questions; whether Hamlet was actually mad or not. His disposition is also linked to the recurring motif of surveillance, blurring the lines between appearance and reality. Hamlet s soliloquy in Act 2 Scene 2 acts as a catalyst for change, springing Hamlet into action as he formulates a surveillance scheme to discover the truth of King Claudius treachery. Through this, one can assert that while Hamlet captures the essence of madness, his deep thinking and speculation indicates that he is essentially only mad in craft . It is because of his scepticism that Hamlet meticulously utilises the metafictional play within a play to observe his[Claudius ] looks , and hence know my[his] course and kill Claudius. The fact that acting itself is putting on false appearances symbolises and further highlights the distortion of truth within this revenge tragedy full of dishonesty. God is described as numinous. This is a term often used to describe the experience in which God s separateness is highlighted. This was put forward by Rudolf Otto in his book The Idea of the Holy. An elementary school in Bolingbrook, Illinois hosted a move in essentials drive in honor of Veterans Day; local volunteers in Battle Creek, Michigan gave their time to assist with delivering beds to a Veterans transitional housing project; and community members came together in San Francisco, California to purchase a bed for a Veteran who has been sleeping on the floor of his apartment for five years. In late 2009, the White House and VA announced an ambitious goal to end Veteran homelessness. The plan to address this urgent national priority was outlined in 2010 s Opening Doors, the first ever federal strategic plan to end Veteran homelessness (Health). These moves galvanized federal, state and local actions to prevent Veterans from becoming homeless and help those who are homeless become stably housed as quickly as possible. Since then, as a result of VA s close collaboration with local and national stakeholder organizations, success in ending homelessness among Veterans is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Soybeans, Maize, And Rapeseed Essay Soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are raw commodities where the primary use is inputs in the feed, food, and drink industries. Appendix A Figure 2.A.1 lists the wide spectrum of food industries where soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are used as inputs. Since the value of these crops is low compared to the final products in which they are typically inputs infers that transport and storage must often be organized in bulk in order for operational and transaction costs to be kept low. The current supply chain structure in which these crops are traded creates several possibilities for impurities or co mingling. It is common practice in food safety regulations to allow a minimum presence of unintended materials like dirt, weed seeds, and mycotoxins in crop shipments (Backus et al. 2008). However, this may not always be the case regarding the unintended presence of traces of an unapproved GM event in the non GM crops (whether crops where no GM approvals have been made or crops where GM varieties have been commercialized). For example, the EU has a zero tolerance level for unapproved GM events in the shipments of crops. Thus, the case of asynchronous approval of GM varieties and differing thresholds for LLP among countries can lead to important impediments to trade. These can include returning, relocation, or destroying cargos of non GM varieties at the importing country s port as a result of the unintended presence of GM traits. Also, with the growing number of GM events being licensed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Creating A Website For An Effective Website Having a website allows your network to benefit from an online presence and educate customers to its business. But what does it take to create such a website? What are the steps needed to create and operate an effective website, a site that encourages customers to do business with you? Technically, the creation of a single site is not something difficult: thousands of new sites are appearing on the web on a daily basis. But this apparition proves to be a handicap in terms of appearance and operation. Here are 6 steps to create a site likely to leave a favorable impression in the minds of customers, actual and potential. 1. Think about the goal, to the look and feel of your site Begin this discussion by assessing other similar sites in your industry or other network sites. Determine what you think is useful or not useful at these sites. Ask yourself the following questions: What connection is there between fashion design, use of illustrations and colors or tone of the text and the activity itself? Does the site offers easy access to the information that most customers have an immediate need? Will they want to visit it again, and why? Is it clear that the information will be updated on a regular basis? The fact to consider other sites allow you to better understand what you expect from yours. 3. Remove a domain name Your domain name is the Internet address that users type into their browser to find your site. For example, www.votreentrepise.com. You must file all domain ... This type of school is structured much differently than all the other elementary schools in Jefferson County. The curriculum at this school is a concept driven curriculum that helps students construct meaning through improved critical thinking skills. This means that the lessons taught are inquiry based. Inquiry based instruction is centered on posing questions and establishing facts through exploration rather than simply presenting the facts to the students. With that being said, my cooperating teacher (CT) planned a very interactive Science lesson to get his students engaged in learningand doing Science. My CT told me that he did not have a specific book to teach with, yet he had essential questions and standards that needed to be met in Science. The lesson was centered on the 3rd grade Colorado academic standard 2, concept 2, which pertained to the concept of the duration and timing of life cycle events in different organisms. The essential question of how humans can have a negative or positive impact on the life cycle of animals and insects was also a guiding factor in the lesson. My CT and one of his co workers that taught 3rd grade came up with this lesson with the help of the ButterflyPavilion, who provided specimens, exploration, and butterfly holder nets for the classroom. • 32. Google Glass, A Wearable Computing Device Abstract This report aims to look at how Google Glass, a wearable computing device, contributes to social and privacy ethical implications. Ethical issues recognised in devices can question the legal rights of a product. However, a study shows that this device may have an opportunity to enhance the quality of the surgical industry. If so, should this device still be used amidst the ethical issues? 1Introduction 1.1Wearable Technology Wearable computing is a technology device that can be worn on the human body and often includes devices that can collect information and may even have motion detectors. Wi Fi or Bluetooth tethering is used to connect the device with an internet connection. Evolving examples of wearable technology include smart watches, clothing and jewellery, sports watches, fitness trackers, head mounted displays and devices that can be implanted in the body. 1.2Augmented Reality Augmented Reality (AR) is technology that allows virtual objects to be layered on to the actual environment in real time. Together, this creates a space called mixed reality. The layers allow detailed information about the world to be visually present whilst wearing the device. AR browsers can enhance camera display with information that is relevant to the place you are at. If you point the device to a building, it can display the details of the building on the building. 2Defining Ethical Implications Ethical implications are issues that arise within the invention ... • 35. The Pros And Cons Of Representative Democracy We chose to institute a direct democracy instead of a representative democracy. A direct democracy occurs when all of the citizens propose and vote on laws. This is modeled after the Assembly in ancient Athens. In contrast, a representative democracy happens when the people elect a representative who proposes laws for them and a group of government officials vote to pass or reject the law, which is similar to the current government of the United Statesof America. One of the biggest issues with a representative democracyis that it s very easy to influence or bribe the officials. As a result, the bribers nearly always have the officials on their side. These bribes are in the form of campaign donations. An example of this bribery would be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not all of the positions for government offices are filled through an election; many are filled simply by an important government official deciding who gets the job. This correlates with the issue mentioned previously about bias. In the United States of America, the seats for the Supreme Court are filled by the President rather than an election. Therefore, if the President is very conservative, he will appoint judges to the Supreme Court who have rulings which contain more conservative than liberal ideas. In addition, many other governmental posts are filled with people who are liked by those in higher positions. This proves one of the biggest arguments against a representative government. Even though people choose the representatives, there are so many positions that are filled without an election, the people don t actually have a voice in the selection process. But the biggest benefit of a direct democracy is that the people actually get a say instead of appointing a representative and hoping that the representatives won t end up being close minded to the needs of all the people. Also, because the people will actually get a say, then there won t always be complaints that someone didn t get a voice. Of course there will still be people who are unhappy, but this is to be expected in a democratic system. A direct democracy dismantles almost all of the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Human Public Toilets For World Toilet Day Essay On the contrary to public knowledge, November 19th is a United Nations (UN) observance for World Toilet Day. Although it is unclear as to who invented the first latrine, for Homo sapiens, public toilets are one of the major markers for sophistication as a species. With eradicating unrestricted urination and defecation behaviors, this helps humans to keep cities clean and overall reduces the risk of disease. With this knowledge at hand, one could infer that other mammals have adapted this same behavior of sharing toilet spaces. In fact, rather than excreting randomly, many mammals have specific sites assigned for this activity. These sites are assigned to specific locations that are away from where the animals reside to sleep and feed. However, where Homo sapiens differ from other mammals, is that human public toilets are designed primarily for sanitation purposes. As described by the United Nations, World Toilet Day, on 19 November, is about taking action to reach the 2.4 billion people living without a toilet, (UN 2016). The United Nations then further express how sanitation is a global development priority, and how sanitation, or lack of, can impact the livelihood of people (UN 2016). In contrast, other mammal communal latrines serve a more unique purpose than just health. Not to neglect sanitation as being an important factor in the overall survival of a group, but other mammals have devised more diverse ways to use their excreta.
