Artificial Intelligence: Case-based & Model-based ReasoningThe Integral Worm
This presentation covers case-based and model-based reasoning for artificial intelligence. Topics covered are as follows: case-based reasoning, case-based reasoning components; case base, retriever, adapter, refiner, executor, and evalutator; and model-based reasoning.
Those who out-compute can many times out-compete. The cloud gives you access to a massive amount of compute power when you need it. This talk will present an introduction to HPC in the cloud, including, the benefits of HPC in the cloud, how to get started, some tools to use, and how you can manage data. We will showcase several examples of HPC in the cloud by a number of public sector and commercial customers.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. Decision Support System
Decision Support System is a computer-based
application that collects, organizes and
analyses business data to facilitate quality
business decision making for management
operations and planning.
Decision making is a process of choosing
among two or more alternative courses of
action for the purpose of attaining one or
more goals.

6. Objectives of DSS
To Save time and effort in decision making process.
To help in processing the collected data and in producing a suggested solution to a problem.
To promote learning , which leads to new demands and refinement of application.
To provide efficient and effective solution of every complex problem.
To provide fast analysis of vast amount of data and information.
To check the impact of changes on the proposed solution with help of “what-if” analysis.
8. Limitations of DSS
1. DSS can’t replaces human decision making
talents such as creativity ,imagination or
intuition.
2. DSS are generally designed to be narrow in
scope of application. This prevents their
generalized use to multiple decision making
contexts.
3. Lack of Technology Knowledge in Users.
4. Cost of Development
