De Bono's Six Thinking Hats is a framework that uses six colored hats to represent six different perspectives or thinking styles. The six thinking styles are: white hat for objective facts; red hat for emotions and feelings; black hat for critical judgment; yellow hat for optimism and benefits; green hat for creativity and new ideas; and blue hat for managing the thinking process. The framework is intended to help groups make better decisions and think more creatively by exploring issues from different perspectives.
