WELCOME TO CSCI-1102
INTERMEDIATE EXCEL AND ACCESS
REVIEW THE FOLLOWING SLIDES FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COURSE
E-TEXT PRINTED BOOK(S) INFORMATION!!!
There are links to purchase printed copies (loose leaf three-hole punched) in the Unit 1 folder at
the MyITLab Course Home page. The Excel and Access books are considered "Print Upgrades" and
are $35 each. The Project Management book is not an upgrade so you will need to pay the full price,
but it is only $40.85.
I would suggest if you want to purchase only one of the books to get the Project Management book.
This is because you are required to complete the step-by-step instructions in both the chapters in
the book and the Project Management portion of the Final Exam (integration) comes from the book.
The Excel and Access chapters can be accessed through the e-text and they are for learning
purposes only. By this I mean you are not required to use them to complete any projects that are
submitted for grading.
Click on any of the links and click Add to Cart, and then click Proceed to Checkout. You will be asked
to Login or Create an Account. Since this is the Pearson Store, you will NEED TO CREATE A NEW
ACCOUNT. You can use the same username (your CSCC email) and same password that you used to
register with Pearson. Then you can complete the payment and shipping information and have the
book(s) sent to your address. If you have any problems with this process, please contact Pearson
Tech Support.
SOFTWARE/COMPUTER
 You must use a computer that
has Microsoft Office 365/Office
2016 with Microsoft Access as a part
of the package. And you will need
access to Microsoft Project.
(Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office 2007,
2010, 2013, or Office for Mac CANNOT be
used for this class).
 Apple products ARE NOT supported by this course.
THIS COURSE IS SET-UP FOR PC USERS WITH MICROSOFT
OFFICE 2016 (OR OFFICE 365) SOFTWARE LOADED.
INSTRUCTORS GENERALLY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO

You can buy the software program Parallels for your Mac and
it will allow you to load Microsoft Office 365/Office2016. This
will allow you to run Mac and PC software on your Mac. If you
persist in using a Mac you will find issues with your software
and how it aligns with the course and the labs that need
completing. This especially affects the Access/Project portion
of the class and labs/quizzes completed in MyITLab.
