Military Regime
The SPDC/SLORC regimes justified the necessity to maintain law and order and to ensure the state s
orientation towards a peaceful modern developed nation. However, this approach represented more
propaganda than pragmatism. People continued to suffer from political oppression, lack of civil
freedom, and disrespect for human rights. Issues of poverty and corruption remained considerable, and
social and legal justice remained questionable. With the nominal practice of market economy and rent
seeking from economic opportunities over two decades, the regime magnified the socio economic
disparity and the power gradient between the few (military elites and their business cronies) and the
majority of the population. The military regime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the National Health Policy highlights the primary health care approach, 70 percent of
those government health spending went to hospital services. Public health programs were much under
funded as only 2 percent of the total government health expenditure was used for provision and
administration of public health programs (Ministry of Health, 2014).
As of 2008, private expenditures accounted for 88.9 percent of the total health expenditures, out of
which 95.7 percent were out of pocket payments the highest rate in the region (World Health
Organization, 2015b). While high costs constrained access to health care services for people who were
unable to afford out of pocket payments, poor quality of care also limited their desire to seek health
services in public hospitals. The regime s prioritization of the security agenda over social sector
investment, along with the regime s narrow conception of development and the impact of external
sanctions, reduced political capacity and performance legitimacy of the state with regard to health care
delivery (Rudland, 2003). This exacerbated the social suffering of the people, as described by Hanna
Kleinman (2013), from poverty, social insecurity, restricted socio political freedom, and long standing
state societal disharmony.
In May 2008, a tropical cyclone, Nargis hit Myanmar, and this natural disaster impacted

Programming Based Security Arrangements And Information...
Literature Survey Programming based security arrangements encode the information to keep
information from being stolen. In any case, a malicious program or a hacker may degenerate the
information with a specific end goal to make it unrecoverable or unusable. Likewise, encoded working
frameworks can be adulterated by malware from a programmer, making the framework unusable.
Equipment based security arrangements can avoid read and compose access to information and
henceforth offers extremely solid insurance against altering and unapproved access. There is an
alternative to software based security which is hardware based. Security tokens, for example, those
utilizing PKCS#11 might be more secure because of the physical access required so as to be
bargained. Access is given only when the associated token is matched and the right PIN is entered
(two factor validation). Dongles can be also be utilized by any individual who can increase physical
access to it. More current advancements in technology provide a solution to this problem by offering
more security for data. Working of Hardware based Security.Hardware based security is provided by a
gadget which allows a user to create admin privileges through manual actions. The gadget uses
biometric identification to keep malicious users from signing in, logging out, and changing admin
privileges. The state of the gadget users is read by the hard disk controller device. Any illegal access

Breast Lift Case Study
Overview
Pregnancy, breast feeding, gravity, and decreased skin elasticity can affect the shape and firmness of
the breasts. Women who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts, but not the shape are best
helped with a breast lift, also known as a mastopexy. The breast lift raises and firms the breasts,
resulting in a more youthful breast contour. Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Charles Hsu, helps
patients who are unhappy about the sagging of their breasts with breast lift surgery. If there is too little
or too much breast volume, a breast augmentation or breast reduction might be recommended in
addition to a lift.
Best Candidate
The following are some common reasons why patients may want to consider a breast lift:
Breasts that are pendulous but adequate in size
Breasts that lack substance or firmness.
Nipples and areolas that point downward
Breasts that appear different from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hsu about their concerns and what they are hoping to get from surgery during the consultation. Dr.
Hsu will listen carefully to the patient and perform a physical examination, including breast
measurements, before he makes his recommendations. Patients will need to share their complete
medical history and patients over 40 will need to bring a recent mammogram. After hearing the
recommendations, the patient will be able to make informed decisions and then create a treatment plan
with Dr. Hsu.
Surgery Details
The procedure usually takes about 2 3 hours to complete a standard breast lift and about 3 hours for a
breast lift with augmentation. Like most cosmetic procedures, this is an outpatient procedure and the
patient will be able to go home after surgery. During surgery, Dr. Hsu makes an incision, raises the
breast and nipple, and then sutures everything into place. Dr. Hsu uses a special skin closure technique
that leaves the thinnest, most inconspicuous scar possible with multiple layers of dissolvable stitches.

Reflection On Camp Reflection
Camp Reflection This is not my fault Trey screamed as we quickly pulled up alongside one of my
friends canoe. I then jumped into their canoe and flipped them over. Camp is so fun I yelled. This year
at camp we focused a lot on who am I, who are we, and who is he. I grew a lot in my faith this year at
camp. I have a couple younger siblings and they always tell me how they cannot wait for camp. So if
you were to cancel camp they would be very disappointed, Camp was awesome. I am unique in god s
eyes and this is what i m like. I think I am great at managing my time well, also I start a project
quickly. Some surveys that we took said that I am naturalistic (likes nature) and intrapersonal (has a
ton of hobbies and likes to work by himself) I think this fits me well because I like working by myself
in a group because then I don t do all of it plus I have to trust myself to get something done instead of
another person. Another survey we took said I was a auditory learner. I do not think this is true
because I believe that I learn way better when someone is standing next to me explaining how to do
something and letting me try. Also it said that I am a morning person. This is so true because after I
wake up for about 5 minutes I have a lot of energy plus at camp when Mr. Lowe came into our cabin
at night he said that there was polar bearing at 7:15 the next morning and I thought I was definitely
going to do it and I did. So that is why I think I am a morning person. One thing at camp that I noticed
is that I like to be cheered for, because when we did the belly flop contest I stood there on top of the
diving board looking down at the water about to do a double front flip and land with a bellflop. It was
kind of nerve racking knowing you were going to hit the water from a 5 foot fast drop but when
everyone cheered I jumped and it was awesome. Were all different people but when we come together
were a giant family with a ton of different characteristics and emotions. At camp we had a couple of
campfires. At the first campfire a we all shares some struggles we have had in life so far. Then at the
second campfire we all told about how we grew in our faith since then. I really like our cabins because
at night we

Compare And Contrast Hamilton And Jefferson
In the years following the Revolutionary War, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had a
number of conflicting philosophies on how best to run the young nation. Most important of all was
determining the role and responsibilities of the federal government. Hamilton, a Federalist, was an
advocate of a strong national government controlled by the wealthy with the power to tax and regulate
commerce; Jefferson, who grew up on a Virginia plantation, championed states rights and a laissez
faire policy, placing faith in the common people to shape the future of America.
Hamilton was a dedicated proponent of the Bank of the United States, proposing the idea to President
Washington in January of 1791. Under Hamilton s plan, the federal government ... Show more content

Among them were Lyman Beecher and three of his children. Beecher himself was a key contributor to
the Second Great Awakening, leading a series of Calvinist revivals around the time of the War of
1812. These revivals led to a series of reform movements in the early 19th century, most notably the
temperance movement of the 1830s which aimed to stamp out alcoholic beverages. Other social
contributions from the Beecher family included Catharine Beecher s efforts towards attaining higher
education for women and advocating female careers in teaching, Harriet Beecher s famous novel
Uncle Tom s Cabin which helped expose the evils of slavery, and Henry Ward Beecher s work as an
antislavery advocate and preacher before and after the Civil War.
William Lloyd Garrison was one of the fiercest abolitionist figures of his generation. Garrison
launched The Liberator in 1831, a radical weekly antislavery journal, where he called for immediate
and unconditional emancipation of all slaves. In 1833, Garrison united with other abolitionists to
found the American Anti Slavery Society. The Second Great Awakening heavily influenced many
leading abolitionists such as Theodore Dwight Weld, while Garrison used his newsletter to rally

What Does Fate In A Prayer For Owen Meany
Fate is a common theme in many cultures, with people either attempting to rebel against it or
embracing it. However, throughout these stories, people very rarely break away from their destiny. A
Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is a story where fate is heavily involved, with the main
character Owen Meany receiving visions of the future and accepting his destiny. Owen Meany
demonstrates that fate is inescapable, and should be embraced. Unlike most stories involving fate, A
Prayer for Owen Meany does not focus on God or divine power, and is instead closer to magical
realism. Throughout the novel, the author withholds information, constantly changes the time as he is
narrating, and has many people do not believe in the miracles of Owen Meany. A Prayer for Owen
Meany can fit in many categories, but with these aspects of magical realism, it is the best genre to put
it in.
The story is told as Johnny narrates it, looking back on his childhood, and he includes any stories he
believes are important to understanding the development of himself and Owen. While telling these
stories, he constantly changes the part of his childhood he is talking about. Besides the sudden jumps
in years, Johnny also skips over days or even weeks at once, not bothering to explain what happened
during that time. At one point, he is talking about how he could see Owen was at least as high as the
palm trees (Irving 626). In the very next sentence, he skips presumably weeks ahead, to talk about
how Major Rawls saw to it that Owen Meany got a medal (Irving 626). Time being nonlinear is an
aspect of magical realism, and with all the jumps and skips, the timeline is very strange and a little
difficult to piece together. The jumping of time also plays into the theme of fate a little, as fate is all
about the future. Telling the future before previous events are explained makes the reader feel like
Owen, knowing some of the future but not the events that lead up to it. Not knowing information is
also an aspect of magical realism, and several major subplots involve the past the author keeps hidden.
For two thirds of the book, and ten years of his life, Johnny does not know who his father is, or what
unspeakable outrage the Catholic church

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, goes an old saying, but the nowadays trend which promotes the
90 60 90 silhouette and the stores that more than often offer clothing intended mostly for such a figure
might leave the more curvy of women with a gap in their self confidence and with a great dilemma
when it comes to finding something not to only fit their figure, but make them look great as well.

These will hide the puffy surplus and give the impression of a slimmer waist. Go for a darker colour
(purple, dark green or navy) and match it with high heeled sandals or shoes and an envelope purse.
For a more casual look, you could replace the shoes with high heeled boots.
Plus Size Party Wear Inspired By The 20s
If you are going to a thematic party or just want to break the routine, the perfect plus size party wear
can be inspired by the 1920s look. Get a black fringe dress, match it with some retro shoes, net tights
and one or two strands of beads and you will have a charming 20s carriage. Hair accessories, such as a
feather headband, are not mandatory, but they can make you stand out in the crowd.
Be Playful: The Cloche Skirt
An alternative to dresses is a nice cloche skirt. A key element should be the high waist, so don t throw
yourself at any cloche skirt you find. Plain or patterned, wear it with a shirt and maybe a short jacket
over. Don t forget the high heels shoes or maybe a pair of short boots, and your are ready.

It can generate a lot balance problems to nation economy if the imports are increased then a certain
amount. The currency can be devalued too due to a lot of imports. The economic performance is
dependent on the currency value. The annual GDP consists of consumer spending, government
spending and capital investment. The overall major term is calculated using exports minus imports. If
the number of exports increases than the imports then the export figure would be positive. The
positive net exports plays major role in increasing the growth of economy. Increased number of
imports means more manufacturing in the industries, which means more jobs and more number of
people are employed. Imports on the other parts are considered negative on the economy. The exports
also indicate the inflow of cash inside the country. Imports can drag the GDP down (Townsend, 1979).
Effect of Exchange rates
The exchange rates is a complicated concept that derives a relationship between the imports and
exports. The exchange rate has also effect on the trade surplus and deficit. A weaker currency will
make imports more expensive than the exports and a strong currency will make imports cheaper.

`` Everything That Rises Must Converge By O Connor
Many people realize sometime in their lives that generations have very different ways of expressing
themselves. Rudimentary ideas get passed down throughout generations, but the ways in which people
interact change due to the different to social differences. In today s world people go about their day
using smartphones to text and call people. This was something that previous generations were not able
to do, thus creating a change in the ways that people express themselves to others. This idea is exactly
what Flannery O Connor was writing about throughout Everything that Rises Must Converge . O
Connor uses the theme of racism to emphasise the similarities and differences between Julian and his
mother s generations, but how they still are mentally very similar.
Julian and his mother have very similar personalities even though they think that they are the exact
opposite. Julian s mother thinks a lot about the way that people view her. She cares about the
appearance that she gives off so everyone can see how rich or great she is. She shows this off in one
way by the house that she lives in Since this had been a fashionable neighborhood forty years ago, his
mother persisted in thinking they did well to have an apartment in it (O Connor 273). This explains
that even though it was a nice neighborhood many years ago that Julian s mother still wants to live
there. Her mind is stuck in a world that she no longer lives in. Julian has a very similar situation that

Introduction: *demonstrate a sound*
Describe the structure of the ear. The Pinna is a ridged cartilage flap covered by skin. The Meatus is
made up of skin and bone. The Tympanic Membrane, is a concave shaped layer of membrane with the
visual of a flattened cone (AAC). The hammer doesn t really live up to its name, it looks more like a
golf club. The Anvil resembles a snag tooth while the stirrup mirrors its name. The Cochlea is a
membrane covered spiral shaped tube. The Auditory nerve is made up of several tubes ending in
terminals.
How sound makes its way through the parts of the ear. Sound travels through the outer ear hitting the
Pinna, traveling through the Outer Ear Canal. Vibration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Outer Ear: The Pinna gathers sound and sends it down the ear canal. The twists and folds of the pinna
enhance high frequency (pitched) sounds and also help us to determine the direction of the sound
source (AAC). Ear wax is developed by two thirds of the ear s external canal, the remaining is bone.
The Meatus or ear canal is a 2 3 cm of cartilage that strengthens the sound coming in. Middle Ear: The
Tympanic Membrane is hit by sound waves causing the eardrum to vibrate as such then transferring
that energy into mechanical energy. Out of the eardrum and onto three bones, Malleus which is
connected to the drum passing sounds on to the Incus that sits on top of the hammer and collects
vibrations. Ending with the Stapes which is responsible for compression of the waves so they can
travel through the inner ear. The Cochlea is home to many nerve cells that are capable of damaging
and are impossible to grow back. The Cochlea s frequency selectivity refers to the ability of the
auditory system to identify tonal components in complex sound. It largely depends on the filtering
ability of the cochlea and its tuning properties are determine by the amplification mechanisms of the
cochlear outer hair cells (BioMedical Engineering). The Auditory Nerve sends all electrical impulses

What Is Privacy Or Improper Use Of Privacy
Concerns about privacy emerge when use of cellphones or improper use of social media gets out of
hand. Based on the article by Nancy Spector and Dawn M. Kappel, breach of privacy or
confidentiality against patients are the most egregious errors that nurses can make when posting on
social media (Spector Kappel, 2012). All patient information must be kept confidential because
everyone has the right to be treated with both dignity and respect. Any violation of a patient s privacy
whether intentional or unintentional is a serious act that must be addressed immediately. It does not
only damage the nurse s credibility and relationship with the patient, but also affects the overall
quality of care given. Additionally, nurses and other healthcare professionals may face disciplinary
action, drastic consequences, and/or legal charges once held accountable. I have decided to pick
scenario #3 as my scenario ending. It describes how I went on Facebook during my day off and talked
about the night when I had to work and did not really feel as bad because I personally met the lead
singer Jerod from the concert that I had missed. After taking his photograph, I carelessly posted his
picture on Facebook and Instagram thinking that no one would recognize him in the first place. Not
realizing the consequences of my actions, I would find, in retrospect, that I was sightless of the
possible harm that I m about to inflict on my patient. The dangers of using Facebook and/or other

Conductive Hearing Loss In The US
Introduction In the United States, about 48 million people or 20 percent of the population is affected
by hearing loss (Hearing Loss Association of America). According to Cole and Flexer (2008), Hearing
loss is the most common birth defect (p. xi). Approximately 16,000 to 18,000 infants and young
children are diagnosed with hearing loss every year. (Cole Flexer, 2008).
Hearing loss can be classified in three ways based on type: conductive, sensorineural, and mixed.
Conductive hearing loss is when sound is not transmitted from the outer ear to the middle ear in an
effective manner. Examples of a conductive hearing loss include: otitis media, perforation of the
tympanic membrane, impacted cerumen, benign growths, foreign objects, or a maldeveloped or absent
outer ear or middle ear structure. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be described as unilateral meaning only one ear is affected or bilateral meaning both ears are
affected. Hearing loss can also be classified as symmetrical or asymmetrical. Symmetrical means that
both ears are affected equally while asymmetrical means that the ears are unequal in their level of
hearing loss. Hearing loss can also be broken down into sudden and progressive onset. Hearing loss
can occur over a short period or it can worsen over time. Fluctuating hearing loss changes over time,
and stable hearing loss remains constant. Hearing loss is characterized by degree of severity based on
decibel loss (American Speech Hearing Association). Normal hearing has a decibel loss of 10 to 15.
Slight hearing loss has a decibel loss of 16 to 25. Mild hearing loss has a decibel loss of 26 to 40.
Moderate hearing loss has a decibel loss of 41 to 55. Moderately severe hearing loss has a decibel loss
of 56 to 70. Severe hearing loss has a decibel loss of 71 to 90. Profound hearing loss has a decibel loss
of 90 or greater (Clark,

Thanksgiving Persuasive Techniques
This recipe can be found on a webpage, which means that the sides are filled with advertisements for
other great dishes to cook. Most of the suggestions are holiday themed, since Thanksgiving has just
passed, and cranberry sauce is associated with Thanksgiving in America. The structure is simple,
looking like something out of a Western cookbook. On the top, there is a depiction of what the
cranberry sauce should look like, the amount of time it takes to prepare and cook the sauce, and how
many people it serves. Underneath that, there is a sentence exclaiming that the dish is delicious and
the last recipe you will ever try. Next, they list the ingredients, and give the instructions. This is easily
followed, and simple for this ritualized dish. The techniques in this recipe are extremely simple,
requiring only a pot, a heat source, preferably a stove, and a cooling area. Water and sugar are brought
to a boil. Once they are boiling, the cranberries are added, and heated until they explode. Then, they
are cooled to form a gelatinized dish. Although it takes three hours to make, the process itself is not

the first Thanksgiving. Since cranberries are native to the region, many believe that they were present

brought to this region through trade. It is probable that this tradition came to be through time and
legend, since Thanksgiving did not become a national holiday until

the resulting inflammation. However, clinical evaluations of these systems have reported only slightly
improved reproducibility when compared with conventional probing, although not clinically

never been released for general use. One of these systems is the electronic probe described by Jeffcoat
et a1 39,40 (the Foster Miller probe), capable of coupling pocket depth measurement with the
detection of the cemento enamel junction from which the clinical attachment level is automatically
detected Researchers at the University of Toronto have also described a probe the Toronto Automated
probe that like the Florida probe, uses the occlusal incisal surface to measure relative clinical
attachment levels. The sulcus is probed with a 0.5 mm nickel titanium wire that is extended under air
pressure. It controls angular discrepancies by means of a mercury tilt sensor that limits angulation
within ±30 degrees, but it requires reproducible positioning of the patient s head and cannot easily
measure second or third molars The measurement of clinical attachment levels has traditionally been
used in the diagnosis of periodontitis however, this measurement only reflects the history of past
disease and does not assess current or future disease activity. The most practical method of
determining that disease is progressing (active) is the demonstration that significant loss of attachment
has occurred over time. To detect progression of periodontal disease over a short perio

The Failure Of The Federal Reserve System
After the Revolutionary War, many of the country s citizens were in great debit and there was
widespread economic disruption. The country was in need of an economic overhaul and the new
country s leaders would need to decide how to do this to ensure the new country did not fall apart.
After two unsuccessful attempts at a national banking system, the Federal Reserve System was created
by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. Since its inception, the Federal Reserve System has evolved into
a central banking system that grows with the country. The Federal Reserve System provides this
country with a central bank that is able to pursue consistent monetary policies. My goal in this paper is
to help the reader to understand why the Federal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Hamilton was especially interested in France and England. He came to realize that it was England
s economic structure that would provide him with a sturdy basis for creating an acceptable economic
system. (Todd 1 2)
The First Bank of United States 1791 to 1811. Mr. Hamilton urged Congress to adopt the model he
had come up with, which included one national bank that would hold the federal government s
deposits and would lend to the government and business. Though there was much opposition, the
proposal was accepted but the bank s charter was given a 20 year limit. The bank, known as First
Bank or Bank of United States, helped to bring the economy of the country together. However, it was
a private institution where foreigners owned 70 percent of the bank and this concerned the citizens of
the United States. When the charter was up for renewal it was rejected and the bank was closed in
1811. ( First Bank of the United States 1 16)
During the twenty years it was in place the First Bank did change the economic downturn of the
country after the war. The First Bank had branches in eight influential port cities and had a wide
geographic existence. It influenced the lending policies of the state banks lending practices. The First
Bank was like the state banks in that it made business loans, accepted deposits, and issued notes that
circulated as currency and were convertible into gold or silver. But it differed from the state banks
because its

Greetings Jack, Brady, Peter, Butch, Bart, Dennis, Paul;
Just over 1 year ago I voluntarily took over the organizational aspects of the Communion Service
Team. I did not believe that my calling was to become the full Ministry Team Leader. However, I have
apparently, by default, evolved into that position. At differing times, I have included many you in
emails as I proceeded to organize and coordinate Communion servers. Today, because of the ongoing
status of the Service Team, I believe it necessary to include all of you in this update of the team s
condition, and its effects on SLC into the coming summer months.
I will begin with my analysis of the present situation. After evaluating the prior year s performance of

With the Elders continually being overtaxed with duties, this slowly transitioned to recruited lay men.
Criteria in hand, I developed a multiple month strategy aimed at attracting new members. Past
precedent and best practices with volunteers indicated that that simply putting out bulletin messages
was not an effective recruitment tool. Thus, our team s first step was the initiation of several face to
face challenges to people we knew to consider the ministry. I believe this attempt failed due in part to
most of the people that we knew were either already engaged in other ministries, or did not wish to
join one.
The next phases included requesting the Small Group Ministry to alert their Group Leaders of the
opportunity to serve the Church; both individually and/or as a small group. This was closely followed
by a similar request to both the Men s, Women s, and High School /Middle School Youth ministries. I
requested that if they were willing to get the word out to us to please make it an in person and personal
appeal at their meetings (again, because general we need help emails tend to be ineffective). I also
made myself available to attend any event or presentation.
Small group ministries created a very nice write up. However, it eventually went out as an emailed
notice. This yielded no recruits. When I unofficially polled a few group leaders at a later training
event, no one recalled that

Religion Is Not A Problem With Religion
Religion can unquestionably establish bonds amongst communities and societies. The encouraging
role of faith has tended to be overlooked due to other world affairs. Emile Durkheim summarised
religion as body of practices and beliefs that act as a basis of identification. Therefore theoretical
understandings can demonstrate that terrorism is not a problem with religion. Durkheim went further
by declaring that religion maintains social order and allows for social cohesion (Boundless, 2015).
According to Emile Durkheim all societies have religion which offers meaning to life as well as
enforcing religious morals and norms respectably. Similarly German sociologist Max Weber
concluded that religion brings meaning to life through specific codes of conducts. Guidelines are set in
order to follow the desired behaviour. This becomes a central element as Weber believes that humans
have always been challenged by crisis which is logically acceptable (Priya, 2014). As opposed to
religion being a problem, scholars have forwarded the idea that faith controls order and impacts how
one is to live in the expectation of a successful afterlife. Religion also makes us put up with
inequalities because of the concept of afterlife. This questions if terrorism is a problem with a religion.

Six Degrees Of Separation And The Human Veil Analysis
Fred Schepisi s Six Degrees of Separation (1993) and Robert Benton s The Human Stain (2003) are
two films from the post racial era that each accurately depict the lives of two tragic, passing
characters. Paul, portrayed by Will Smith in Schepisi s film, passes not on the basis of race but of
social class and sexuality. Within Benton s motion picture, Coleman Silk, Anthony Hopkins, passes as
a professor and dean of a university through the use of a racial masquerade. The stories that follow
these similarly different characters and how they choose to engage in their respective surroundings are
widely effected by the individuals that Paul and Coleman both interact with. A thorough personal
analysis of the whiteness encompassing the lives of Paul and Coleman alongside other professional
critiques of Six Degrees of Separation and The Human Stain reveals a parallel trend of Otherness. In
Schepisi s film, Paul is by no means the central character of the story. The plot of Six Degrees of
Separation recounts the effect of Paul on Flan and Ouisa Kittredge, two privileged white art dealers in
New York. Shcepisi utilizes both Paul s blackness and Otherness to emphasize the Kittredge s
whiteness. One critic stated, the black character is often a supporting player or background material in
the story of the white man s spiritualization or maturation (Gillan 132). Although, Paul is the one who
offers to cook the Flan, Ouisa, and Geoffrey a meal in their home and the Kittredges are

The Ramayana and Sita Sings the Blues
The Ramayana and Sita Sings The Blues
Art is a form of expression that lives on for centuries but changes in interpretation over time. What
may be relevant in this time period may make no sense to the upcoming generations. Nina Paley s film
Sita Sings the Blues brings two cultures, traditions, values and time periods together to convey her
message and bring relevance of her art across many cultures and generations. The Ramayana by
Valmiki on the other hand is a very traditional epic which depicts the ideal of every relation, one ideal
example being the wife of Rama, Sita. Idealistically, a wife in Indian culture is to stick to her husband

Lab 1 Nitration Of Naphthalene
Nitration of Naphthalene
Wed 2/25/2015
Lab report # 1
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment was to nitrate naphthalene with nitronium ion, which is formed at low
concentration from a reaction of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The percent yield from the experiment
was 54.4% of the product, and the melting point of the possible results were 59 °C for 1
nitronaphthalene, and 78°C for 2 nitronaphthalene.
Introduction:
Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphthalene can be nitrated by the same methods as
benzene derivatives, including the well known mixed acid method that utilizes a mixture of nitric acid
and sulfuric acid. The electrophile is the nitronium ion, NO2+, which is formed at low concentration
by a reaction of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The solid was then boiled with 10ml of fresh water for 10minutes. The mixture was cooled in ice and
the product was collected by vacuum filtration. 0.1 of the crude product was then recrystallized for
5minutes with 5ml of hexane under reflux. The hot solution was filtered using a preheated filtering
paper. Crystallization occurred, and then the product was collect by vacuum filtration. The product
was dried and the melting and mass were measured of the product, nitro naphthalene.

How Did Alexander The Great Affect The Age Of The...
Imagine a world without splendorous leisure activities. The people of the Hellenistic Age most
certainly couldn t! The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and
the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his
decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast
empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of
the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important
artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years. The Hellenistic Age began
after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (atg timeline). His conquest of Persia after the
Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BCE technically spurred Hellenism, or the spreading of Greek culture
(adtp). Alexander the Great s empire of over seventy cities spread all the way from the west of the
Mediterranean to the east of Persia, and became a hotbed for the mixing of cultures (thought co).
People within this territory assimilated the Greek language, which then allowed for the spread of other
parts of Greek culture, like arts, philosophy, and literature (world of atg). After conquering Persia,
Alexander the Great began to introduce aspects of Greek culture through his new empire in many
different ways. He encouraged his soldiers to marry with Persian women in order to

Essay on Mending Wall
Mending Wall by Robert Frost is a poem in which the characteristics of vocabulary, rhythm and other
aspects of poetic technique combine in a fashion that articulates, in detail, the experience and the
opposing convictions that the poem describes and discusses. The ordinariness of the rural activity is
presented in specific description, and as so often is found in Frost s poems, the unprepossessing
undertaking has much larger implications. Yet his consideration of these does not disturb the qualities
of accessible language and technique, which give the poem its unique flavor and persuasiveness. The
poem works on two levels of realism and metaphor, with a balance as poised as the act of mending the
all itself. (themes) Perhaps one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the words do not carry, the sound of them does and the listener can catch the meaning of
the conversation. This is because every meaning has a particular sound posture, or to think of it in
another way, the sense of meaning has a particular sound which each individual is instinctively
familiar with and without at all being conscious of the exact words that are being used is able to
understand the thought, idea or emotion that is being conveyed. Each sentence in the Mending Wall is
not interesting merely in conveying a meaning of words, it does much more by conveying a meaning
by its tone. If we were to go back far enough in history we would discover that the sound of sense
(tone) existed before words, that there was something in the voice or vocal gesture made by primitive
man that conveyed a meaning to his companions before man developed a more elaborate method of
communication. Native Americans have been said to have possessed a picture language, a means of
communicating by the sound of sense. This sound of sense, or the voice Frost gives to the personae of
his characters is the most important, distinquishing and conspicuously insistent feature of not only
Mending Wall but his other poetry (style) Frost has provided to the common reader poems and
writings that allow each of us to ponder the questions for which we must look to our morals and
beliefs to find the answers, or to consider the ones he sometimes offers. It

What Makes Life Worth Living
What makes life worth living? To build a life that s worth living, we have to all work together, be
kind, learn more and be smart, we need to go get some money. We can all build a life that s worth
living, we need to help and love each other not hate. We live in a real bad world of hate, killing,
racism, kidnapping, bullying and many more horrible things. It s crazy what we go through and do in
this world. If you asked me what makes life worth living, i would tell you what i think. In my opinion
i believe getting all the money being in love with a beautiful loyal woman having loyal friends thats
not fake and switch up on you, going on adventures and trips. Having fun living life meeting famous
people, meeting different kind of people across the world, showing love instead of hate around the
world and many more things that makes life worth living. If you re living or do those things then your
a life worth living. If you re not living those things then it s okay, you can still do it. You can change
your life and make it worth living or not i wouldn t know what to say to be honest. I would probably
you are stuck in between the middle yes and no because of the things i did and did not live there are
many reasons why it s yes because i am a cool loyal person, i been on adventures and trips throughout
my life. I am a hardworking boy i will work hard on a job for some money. Even though i need me a
job right now because i love making money more then anything. I also have a

A Comparison Of Jerry Rice And Randy Moss
Imagine being the best wide receiver in NFL, being elected into the Hall Of Fame, being looked upon
as a legend, an icon. 200,000 people looking up to you, wanting to be just like you. Jerry Rice, one of
the best receivers in NFL history. You might think Randy Moss is better because you have heard so
much about him, or Oh! they made a catch after him, the MOSS catch. There are many receivers in the
NFL history that were and are very good, including Randy Moss, but Jerry Rice is nothing compared
to Randy, he blows Randy Moss stats out of the water. Jerry Rice and Randy Moss are both known for

Rice hit 208 touchdown in his multiple seasons. He was a receiver for a couple of teams, which
includes you to use your hands to catch the ball, but Jerry Rice was good at every position. Rice had
10 rushing touchdowns, and one fumble recovery; with his speed he was able to break away from the
mayhem and score a touchdown. No matter what who the person, or the team, if anyone was to
achieve that goal, that is amazing and will be remembered. In any division of football it is extremely
hard to break 200 touchdowns. If you break 200 you might as well be the best receiver in the world, of
NFL. Jerry Rice had racked in more touchdowns than Emmitt Smith. Emmitt was a phenomenal
running back for the Dallas Cowboys, hitting 175 touchdowns in his career. Jerry has the most
touchdowns in NFL history, with Emmitt Smith, at second, and Ladainian Tomlinson at third. Emmitt
Smith is an elite running back that was in the NFL and for someone, anyone to have more and better
stats than him is very difficult. Some may say that Randy Moss is the most explosive, fastest and the
most hardworking wide receiver there ever was. Most of those people don t know the background of
Jerry Rice. Jerry rice s dad was a brick mason and when he was a young adult he went to work with
him. Jerry s dad threw bricks down to him off the scaffleting. He had big hands and was able to wrap
his hands around every brick thrown at him. He went on to play

Joey As A 9 Year Old Boy Essay
it might be said I Competence Compellability of Joey as a 9 Year Old Boy Section 12 of the Evidence
Act provides the rules concerning the competence and compellability of witnesses that are called to
adduce evidence for a party to a proceeding. The section states that every person is competent to give
evidence and that a person who is competent to give evidence about a fact is compellable to give that
evidence . With regards to children, there is no blanket rule regarding the competence of children as a
class, but issues may arise depending on the particular child. During the voir dire process, it was

Whether a question will be disallowable will largely rely on whether the court is of the opinion that
the question falls within the categories designated in the legislation. Some of the key categories
include if a question is misleading or confusing, unduly annoying, intimidating, put to the witness in a
manner or tone that is belittling or insulting. In Libke v The Queen, Heydon J highlighted that a cross
examination will be deemed improper if it is calculated to humiliate, belittle and break the witness and
if its tone is often sarcastic, personally abusive and derisive. When Joey was being cross examined by
Fred s counsel, it is easy to see how some of the questions may have come across as misleading,

  • 2. Military Regime The SPDC/SLORC regimes justified the necessity to maintain law and order and to ensure the state s orientation towards a peaceful modern developed nation. However, this approach represented more propaganda than pragmatism. People continued to suffer from political oppression, lack of civil freedom, and disrespect for human rights. Issues of poverty and corruption remained considerable, and social and legal justice remained questionable. With the nominal practice of market economy and rent seeking from economic opportunities over two decades, the regime magnified the socio economic disparity and the power gradient between the few (military elites and their business cronies) and the majority of the population. The military regime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the National Health Policy highlights the primary health care approach, 70 percent of those government health spending went to hospital services. Public health programs were much under funded as only 2 percent of the total government health expenditure was used for provision and administration of public health programs (Ministry of Health, 2014). As of 2008, private expenditures accounted for 88.9 percent of the total health expenditures, out of which 95.7 percent were out of pocket payments the highest rate in the region (World Health Organization, 2015b). While high costs constrained access to health care services for people who were unable to afford out of pocket payments, poor quality of care also limited their desire to seek health services in public hospitals. The regime s prioritization of the security agenda over social sector investment, along with the regime s narrow conception of development and the impact of external sanctions, reduced political capacity and performance legitimacy of the state with regard to health care delivery (Rudland, 2003). This exacerbated the social suffering of the people, as described by Hanna Kleinman (2013), from poverty, social insecurity, restricted socio political freedom, and long standing state societal disharmony. In May 2008, a tropical cyclone, Nargis hit Myanmar, and this natural disaster impacted approximately 2.4 million people, including ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Programming Based Security Arrangements And Information... Literature Survey Programming based security arrangements encode the information to keep information from being stolen. In any case, a malicious program or a hacker may degenerate the information with a specific end goal to make it unrecoverable or unusable. Likewise, encoded working frameworks can be adulterated by malware from a programmer, making the framework unusable. Equipment based security arrangements can avoid read and compose access to information and henceforth offers extremely solid insurance against altering and unapproved access. There is an alternative to software based security which is hardware based. Security tokens, for example, those utilizing PKCS#11 might be more secure because of the physical access required so as to be bargained. Access is given only when the associated token is matched and the right PIN is entered (two factor validation). Dongles can be also be utilized by any individual who can increase physical access to it. More current advancements in technology provide a solution to this problem by offering more security for data. Working of Hardware based Security.Hardware based security is provided by a gadget which allows a user to create admin privileges through manual actions. The gadget uses biometric identification to keep malicious users from signing in, logging out, and changing admin privileges. The state of the gadget users is read by the hard disk controller device. • 4. Breast Lift Case Study Overview Pregnancy, breast feeding, gravity, and decreased skin elasticity can affect the shape and firmness of the breasts. Women who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts, but not the shape are best helped with a breast lift, also known as a mastopexy. The breast lift raises and firms the breasts, resulting in a more youthful breast contour. Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Charles Hsu, helps patients who are unhappy about the sagging of their breasts with breast lift surgery. If there is too little or too much breast volume, a breast augmentation or breast reduction might be recommended in addition to a lift. Best Candidate The following are some common reasons why patients may want to consider a breast lift: Breasts that are pendulous but adequate in size Breasts that lack substance or firmness. Dr. Hsu will listen carefully to the patient and perform a physical examination, including breast measurements, before he makes his recommendations. After hearing the recommendations, the patient will be able to make informed decisions and then create a treatment plan with Dr. Hsu. Surgery Details The procedure usually takes about 2 3 hours to complete a standard breast lift and about 3 hours for a breast lift with augmentation. Like most cosmetic procedures, this is an outpatient procedure and the patient will be able to go home after surgery. During surgery, Dr. Hsu makes an incision, raises the breast and nipple, and then sutures everything into place. • 7. Reflection On Camp Reflection Camp Reflection This is not my fault Trey screamed as we quickly pulled up alongside one of my friends canoe. I then jumped into their canoe and flipped them over. Camp is so fun I yelled. This year at camp we focused a lot on who am I, who are we, and who is he. I grew a lot in my faith this year at camp. I have a couple younger siblings and they always tell me how they cannot wait for camp. So if you were to cancel camp they would be very disappointed, Camp was awesome. I am unique in god s eyes and this is what i m like. I think I am great at managing my time well, also I start a project quickly. Some surveys that we took said that I am naturalistic (likes nature) and intrapersonal (has a ton of hobbies and likes to work by himself) I think this fits me well because I like working by myself in a group because then I don t do all of it plus I have to trust myself to get something done instead of another person. Another survey we took said I was a auditory learner. I do not think this is true because I believe that I learn way better when someone is standing next to me explaining how to do something and letting me try. Also it said that I am a morning person. This is so true because after I wake up for about 5 minutes I have a lot of energy plus at camp when Mr. Lowe came into our cabin at night he said that there was polar bearing at 7:15 the next morning and I thought I was definitely going to do it and I did. So that is why I think I am a morning person. One thing at camp that I noticed is that I like to be cheered for, because when we did the belly flop contest I stood there on top of the diving board looking down at the water about to do a double front flip and land with a bellflop. It was kind of nerve racking knowing you were going to hit the water from a 5 foot fast drop but when everyone cheered I jumped and it was awesome. Were all different people but when we come together were a giant family with a ton of different characteristics and emotions. At camp we had a couple of campfires. At the first campfire a we all shares some struggles we have had in life so far. Then at the second campfire we all told about how we grew in our faith since then. I really like our cabins because at night we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Compare And Contrast Hamilton And Jefferson In the years following the Revolutionary War, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had a number of conflicting philosophies on how best to run the young nation. Most important of all was determining the role and responsibilities of the federal government. Hamilton, a Federalist, was an advocate of a strong national government controlled by the wealthy with the power to tax and regulate commerce; Jefferson, who grew up on a Virginia plantation, championed states rights and a laissez faire policy, placing faith in the common people to shape the future of America. Hamilton was a dedicated proponent of the Bank of the United States, proposing the idea to President Washington in January of 1791. Under Hamilton s plan, the federal government ... Beecher himself was a key contributor to the Second Great Awakening, leading a series of Calvinist revivals around the time of the War of 1812. These revivals led to a series of reform movements in the early 19th century, most notably the temperance movement of the 1830s which aimed to stamp out alcoholic beverages. Other social contributions from the Beecher family included Catharine Beecher s efforts towards attaining higher education for women and advocating female careers in teaching, Harriet Beecher s famous novel Uncle Tom s Cabin which helped expose the evils of slavery, and Henry Ward Beecher s work as an antislavery advocate and preacher before and after the Civil War. William Lloyd Garrison was one of the fiercest abolitionist figures of his generation. Garrison launched The Liberator in 1831, a radical weekly antislavery journal, where he called for immediate and unconditional emancipation of all slaves. In 1833, Garrison united with other abolitionists to found the American Anti Slavery Society. • 10. What Does Fate In A Prayer For Owen Meany Fate is a common theme in many cultures, with people either attempting to rebel against it or embracing it. However, throughout these stories, people very rarely break away from their destiny. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is a story where fate is heavily involved, with the main character Owen Meany receiving visions of the future and accepting his destiny. Owen Meany demonstrates that fate is inescapable, and should be embraced. Unlike most stories involving fate, A Prayer for Owen Meany does not focus on God or divine power, and is instead closer to magical realism. Throughout the novel, the author withholds information, constantly changes the time as he is narrating, and has many people do not believe in the miracles of Owen Meany. A Prayer for Owen Meany can fit in many categories, but with these aspects of magical realism, it is the best genre to put it in. The story is told as Johnny narrates it, looking back on his childhood, and he includes any stories he believes are important to understanding the development of himself and Owen. While telling these stories, he constantly changes the part of his childhood he is talking about. Besides the sudden jumps in years, Johnny also skips over days or even weeks at once, not bothering to explain what happened during that time. At one point, he is talking about how he could see Owen was at least as high as the palm trees (Irving 626). In the very next sentence, he skips presumably weeks ahead, to talk about how Major Rawls saw to it that Owen Meany got a medal (Irving 626). Time being nonlinear is an aspect of magical realism, and with all the jumps and skips, the timeline is very strange and a little difficult to piece together. The jumping of time also plays into the theme of fate a little, as fate is all about the future. Telling the future before previous events are explained makes the reader feel like Owen, knowing some of the future but not the events that lead up to it. Not knowing information is also an aspect of magical realism, and several major subplots involve the past the author keeps hidden. For two thirds of the book, and ten years of his life, Johnny does not know who his father is, or what unspeakable outrage the Catholic church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fret no more and read on to find out more about choosing a diva like plus size party outfit. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, goes an old saying, but the nowadays trend which promotes the 90 60 90 silhouette and the stores that more than often offer clothing intended mostly for such a figure might leave the more curvy of women with a gap in their self confidence and with a great dilemma when it comes to finding something not to only fit their figure, but make them look great as well. The currency can be devalued too due to a lot of imports. The economic performance is dependent on the currency value. The annual GDP consists of consumer spending, government spending and capital investment. The overall major term is calculated using exports minus imports. If the number of exports increases than the imports then the export figure would be positive. The positive net exports plays major role in increasing the growth of economy. Increased number of imports means more manufacturing in the industries, which means more jobs and more number of people are employed. Imports on the other parts are considered negative on the economy. The exports also indicate the inflow of cash inside the country. Imports can drag the GDP down (Townsend, 1979). Effect of Exchange rates The exchange rates is a complicated concept that derives a relationship between the imports and exports. The exchange rate has also effect on the trade surplus and deficit. • 13. `` Everything That Rises Must Converge By O Connor Many people realize sometime in their lives that generations have very different ways of expressing themselves. Rudimentary ideas get passed down throughout generations, but the ways in which people interact change due to the different to social differences. In today s world people go about their day using smartphones to text and call people. This was something that previous generations were not able to do, thus creating a change in the ways that people express themselves to others. This idea is exactly what Flannery O Connor was writing about throughout Everything that Rises Must Converge . O Connor uses the theme of racism to emphasise the similarities and differences between Julian and his mother s generations, but how they still are mentally very similar. Julian and his mother have very similar personalities even though they think that they are the exact opposite. Julian s mother thinks a lot about the way that people view her. She cares about the appearance that she gives off so everyone can see how rich or great she is. She shows this off in one way by the house that she lives in Since this had been a fashionable neighborhood forty years ago, his mother persisted in thinking they did well to have an apartment in it (O Connor 273). This explains that even though it was a nice neighborhood many years ago that Julian s mother still wants to live there. Her mind is stuck in a world that she no longer lives in. Julian has a very similar situation that happens with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. What Is Privacy Or Improper Use Of Privacy Concerns about privacy emerge when use of cellphones or improper use of social media gets out of hand. Based on the article by Nancy Spector and Dawn M. Kappel, breach of privacy or confidentiality against patients are the most egregious errors that nurses can make when posting on social media (Spector Kappel, 2012). All patient information must be kept confidential because everyone has the right to be treated with both dignity and respect. Any violation of a patient s privacy whether intentional or unintentional is a serious act that must be addressed immediately. It does not only damage the nurse s credibility and relationship with the patient, but also affects the overall quality of care given. Additionally, nurses and other healthcare professionals may face disciplinary action, drastic consequences, and/or legal charges once held accountable. According to Cole and Flexer (2008), Hearing loss is the most common birth defect (p. xi). Approximately 16,000 to 18,000 infants and young children are diagnosed with hearing loss every year. (Cole Flexer, 2008). Hearing loss can be classified in three ways based on type: conductive, sensorineural, and mixed. Conductive hearing loss is when sound is not transmitted from the outer ear to the middle ear in an effective manner. Fluctuating hearing loss changes over time, and stable hearing loss remains constant. Hearing loss is characterized by degree of severity based on decibel loss (American Speech Hearing Association). Normal hearing has a decibel loss of 10 to 15. Slight hearing loss has a decibel loss of 16 to 25. Mild hearing loss has a decibel loss of 26 to 40. For this reason, the foods served are supposed to represent what was served during the first Thanksgiving. • 23. Religion Is Not A Problem With Religion Religion can unquestionably establish bonds amongst communities and societies. The encouraging role of faith has tended to be overlooked due to other world affairs. Emile Durkheim summarised religion as body of practices and beliefs that act as a basis of identification. Therefore theoretical understandings can demonstrate that terrorism is not a problem with religion. Durkheim went further by declaring that religion maintains social order and allows for social cohesion (Boundless, 2015). According to Emile Durkheim all societies have religion which offers meaning to life as well as enforcing religious morals and norms respectably. Similarly German sociologist Max Weber concluded that religion brings meaning to life through specific codes of conducts. Guidelines are set in order to follow the desired behaviour. This becomes a central element as Weber believes that humans have always been challenged by crisis which is logically acceptable (Priya, 2014). As opposed to religion being a problem, scholars have forwarded the idea that faith controls order and impacts how one is to live in the expectation of a successful afterlife. Religion also makes us put up with inequalities because of the concept of afterlife. This questions if terrorism is a problem with a religion. Within Benton s motion picture, Coleman Silk, Anthony Hopkins, passes as a professor and dean of a university through the use of a racial masquerade. The plot of Six Degrees of Separation recounts the effect of Paul on Flan and Ouisa Kittredge, two privileged white art dealers in New York. The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years.
