Abstract
The steady magnetohydrodynamic flow of an incompressible non Newtonian power law nanofluid
due to a uniform rotation of an infinite disk is studied with heat and mass transfer. The thermal
conductivity has been assumed to obey the same nonlinear rheological model of the viscosity
function; as well as, the viscous dissipation has been comprised in the energy equation. The
governing PDEs are reduced to a set of ODEs; using the generalized Von Karman similarity
transformations; for which finite difference numerical scheme is implemented based on its
associated boundary conditions. The influence of the non Newtonian fluid characteristics on the
distributions of fluid velocity components, temperature and concentration of suspended
nanoparticles has been analyzed. The significant effects of thermal radiation, Brownian motion and
thermophoresis phenomenon on the

The Global Epidemic Of Elder Abuse Essay
Evidence suggests that one in 10 older adults experiences some form of elder abuse, but only
one in 25 cases is reported to social services agencies (Dong, 2012, p. 2151). Elder mistreatment
can occur in a variety of settings including domestic and assisted living. Elder abuse includes
psychological, physical, and sexual abuse; neglect to include both caregiver and self neglect; and
financial exploitation. With the vast explosion of the aging population in today s society elder
abuse can no longer loom in the shadows.
Literature Review After many years, the global epidemic of elder abuse is beginning to receive the
public attention it desperately needs. Forty years after child abuse and domestic violence first
entered mainstream of the publics eye, elder abuse, which attacks all demographic, geographic,
and economic populations on earth is finally making headway. Studies have shown that elder
abuse is severely underreported with about 10% of all elderly being subjected to some form of
abuse and an estimated less than half of these cases ever get reported (B. J., Holroyd Leduc,
2012). The American dreams includes that we believe in the right to live free of abuse, neglect and
exploitation and violence regardless of age, gender, race and economic standing.
Statement of Problem According to Gibson and Qualls (2012) victims of elder abuse are usually,
white widowed females ages 70 to 89, however anybody can be affected. The first step is
understanding what elder abuse

Pretivation Of Child Observation On Child And Children
I observed a male with a female child (approximately 2 years of age) walking around the store to
buy some hot food to eat. The adult carries a basket in one hand and the other hand holds the
child s hand. The child wants to hold the basket which it is full of fresh vegetables and frying
sausages and sticky rice. The adult bends down and says, You can t carry the basket because it s
very heavy and you are still small to carry it. You may hurt yourself. Okay? The child looks a
little sad and replies, Okay. The adult then continues as they both walking away, the adult says,
You can carry it when you get older like Daddy, ok? The child replied with okay!
The method observed was the Cognitive Method (Reasoning)
The evidence supports that this socialization method as cognitive method (reasoning) was that the
male explained to the child that the child was still small and she shouldn t be carry a heavy basket
because she may hurt herself.
What you observed
I observed a small group of 4 people, 1 male and 1 female adults and 2 female child (approximately
1 ВЅ and 3 years of age) blowing bubbles at the park. The male shows both child to blow bubbles
out of a bubble stick. The adult male would try to blow the bubbles first and then gives the two
girls a chance to blow the bubbles. The older child tries to blow air into the whole of the bubble
stick but nothing happens. The adult male shows the child with encouragement and says, You have

Principle Of Pigeonhole Principle
Pigeonhole Principle
Introduction:
In 1834, the mathematician Peter Gustav Dirichlet (1805 1859), developed the idea of what we
know today as the Pigeonhole Principle (2009). It is also commonly called Dirichlet s box principle
or Dirichlet s drawer principle in dissimilar parts of the world. The Pigeonhole Principle is an
extremely essential and easy concept to comprehend, yet when applied to higher level problem
solving can very complicated to detect and use (2009). This powerful Pigeonhole Principle may be
presented in a few different ways:
1.) If m pigeons are put into m pigeonholes, there is an unfilled hole if and only if there s a hole
with more than one pigeon, 2.) If n pigeons are put into m pigeonholes where n m, there s a hole
with more than one pigeon, 3.) Let |A| denote the number of elements in a finite ... Show more

Definition:
The pigeonhole principle states that if n items are located into m containers, with n m, then at least
one container necessity contains more than one item
This theorem is exemplified in real life by axioms similar to there must have got to be at least
two left gloves or two right gloves in a cluster of three gloves . To get a better understanding of
how the Pigeonhole Principle is essentially used, below are a few examples of the application of
this valuable idea. With each example, however, connections stuck between the pigeons and the
pigeonholes will be distinguished to help out identify with what accomplishment needs to be
complete with each trouble. The initial pair of examples will be essential problems followed by

Polital Environment in Bangladesh
Political Environment in Bangladesh and its Impact on International Trade Introduction The
interface between international trade obligations and domestic regulation of trade, health, safety
and the environment, special and differential treatment of developing countries dictates whether a
country will be able to gain from trade, commerce which contributes to development of a country.
Since, independence, the political environment of Bangladesh has been fragile due to its lack of
proper democratic practice, self fulfilling prophecy and decision making with inadequate
knowledge of international relations. Therefore, it is a dire need to know the impact of political
foresight to gain advantage in international trade. Overview of Political... Show more content on

So, contribution by Bangladesh Awami League, the Jatio Party and BNP has been immense in
increasing international trade. The potential areas for investment in Bangladesh include:
agriculture, fisheries, agro based industries, chemicals, light industries, natural gas and oil
exploration, textile, tourism, energy sector, telecommunications, etc. Although the prospects for
foreign investment in Bangladesh are otherwise bright, we have at the same time some barriers to
investment. Such barriers include mainly Political instability a common problem in Bangladesh.
Though we expected substantial change in our political environment, we are not observing any
positive signs yet. This is a major disincentive for foreign investors. Most of the trade unions of the
country have political ties with the parties in power and opposition. This hampers industrial
production and pollutes the with environment. As a result, production target fail, the industry incurs
losses. The country has liberalized its banking and telecommunication sectors. Although,

Trail Obstacles
The smell of oak and pine filled my nose, the sky was blue and all you can see was the mountains
and trees. It was my cousin, grandpa, uncle, my uncle s friend, then my dad and I. We were in
the High sierra Mountains in california. We did not expect the trail to be this difficult. We
overcame obstacles that seemed impossible. Once we arrived to the campsite we stayed their for a
few days. That hike made me realize what true success really feels like.
After a good night s rest, we headed off to the trail. We had to take frequent breaks, because the air
was super thin. The trail was rocky, uneven, and slippery. If I were to fall that would be very very
bad. I thought it was easy, but then the impossible happened.
No one in the group thought it was part of the trail. The rain has washed out the trail. All was left
was a one foot ledge. With our big boots it seemed impossible. We had to leap to the other side and

The Ledge and slide looking thing were not as hard like the first time. Since we were familiar with
the trail, all of it seemed normal to us. Even though the obstacles were behind us we still needed to
stay focused. Now it was just a test of endurance. The last mile was the hardest mile out of the
whole trip. My legs were sore, I had a headache, and I was very thirsty. However, when we saw the
trail head we were filled with joy. Once we stepped of the trail we felt like we succeeded.
I will always remember the smell of the wood and the beautiful scenery. We were not expecting
the trail to be washed out. The group overcame obstacles that seemed impossible. The trail head
seemed like a safe haven. I have never felt like that after we got back. I felt like I succeeded and
accomplished and proud. I would go on that trip again in a heartbeat. The trip taught me to work

States in the mid 19th Century. By looking at the motives and the course of events in both Boston
and Philadelphia, this paper aims to show how those rioting exhibited similar attitudes toward
Catholics in the United Statesyet the motives that sparked revolt differed. In terms of the
organization of this paper, I plan on dividing the paper up into two halves: part one will examine
Boston, and part two will examine the course of events in Philadelphia. Additionally, I would like
to have a third part that analyzes the riots in a comparative, as well as a contrasting, light. For the

The s Theory Of Structural Empowerment
With the global nursing shortage, organizations are looking for strategies to retain nurses. One
strategy for nurse retention is, encouraging nurses to get certified, according to research studies.
The population affected by nurse certification is the nurse, the patient, and the organization.
Organizations need to invest into getting nurses certified in their specialty area. Research proves
that certified nurses self perception is a sense of empowerment. The Iowa Model of Evidence
Based Practice will be utilized to guide the change to practice. A literature search was conducted
using one of the world s largest database search engines, the Academic Search Complete (EBSCO).
The search resulted in over 300 journal articles, which were then evaluated and categorized using
the evidence hierarchy rating system. The theoretical framework was the Kanter s theory of
structural empowerment. Fostering the nurses self perception of empowerment, which comes with
being certified is a mediator of personal growth; increased competence and confidence; enhanced
knowledge and self esteem; and ultimately retention. Specialty nursecertification proves the nurse
continued commitment to education and practice, which are ongoing instead of episodic, and thus
more consistent with the changes in healthcare. With the rising cuts in healthcare a constraint
organization may face with the implementation of a plan to encourage nurses to get certified is
funding.

Witchcraft Is The Existence Of Magic That Is Manipulated...
Witchcraft in Nepal
Witchcraft is the belief of magic that is manipulated for both good and wicked purposes
(McGarry, 2016). The practice of witchcraft is demonstrated in many societies around the world;
however, witchcraft is looked down upon. In this case, two societies in Nepal are significant for the
practices and beliefs of witchcraft: the Tibetan Nyinba, and the Kathmandu Village. These two
societies believe in witchcraft because of the harmful and malicious practices [witches] hold within
these societies. The Tibetan and Kathmandu hold remarkably similar beliefs about witchcraft such
as, Women inherit witchery, and is executed though emotional traits and the mind (Gellner, 1994;
Levine, 1982). Next, these societies have formed beliefs about witches based on noted practices and
stories of witchcraft. To include, another major factor that the Tibetan and Kathmandu believe
about witchcraft is the deviance and darkness behind witchery. By comparing these close knit
societies, witchcraft in Nepal is believed to be unsettling and harmful among members of the
groups. To begin with, it is an important determent to know that it is women who are practicing
witchcraft among these societies. The Tibetan and Kathmandu Village believe that Women carry
the hereditary to witchery and Women among lower social class is linked to witchcraft (Gellner,
1994; Levine, 1982). In the Tibetan Nyinba, the beginning of this belief was linked to the
assumption of a female phenomenon

What Is The Theme Of Balzac And The Little Chinese Seamstress
In Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie, the narrator is sent from his village to the
countryside for his re education process. Although literature is forbidden there, he gains access to a
wide range of literature, introducing him to numerous themes previously unknown to him. Similar
to Plato s The Allegory of the Cave, in which philosophers face dangerous but rewarding
consequences from their knowledge, the narrator experiences both perils and benefits from his
knowledge of literature. Society chastises the narrator for attaining such knowledge, as Communist
leader Mao Zedongs re education process strives to limit education. However, the narrator also
benefits because he learns about himself and spreads this knowledge to his community.
Mao Zedong, the Great Helmsman of China s Revolution (Sijie 6), first launched his re education
process in 1968. He strived to limit education by prohibiting literature and sending young
intellectuals such as the narrator to the countryside. Through this re education process, the narrator
travels to the mountain of the Phoenix of the Sky, where he evolves into one of Mao s subjects.
The narrator works arduously under Mao s communal model in the fields and acknowledges his
infinitesimal (17) chances of escaping the mountain and the re education process: three in a
thousand. Later, while laboring in a coal mine, the narrator experiences visions... difficulty
breathing... [and] fear (30 31). Mao s

Epicurus On Fear
Fearing the eternal sleep
When people think about the possibility of death, pain is the most commonly thing that comes to
their mind. For many people they have asked the question what is death to us. Some have stated
that it is not something to fear because it is annihilation and no one can experience death. While
other people have claimed that death is bad because it takes one from all the good in life. I believe
death is something to be feared because it brings many bad experiences to people.
First of all some people have determined that death is not something to be fear. One such famous
philosopher is Epicurus and he claims that death is not bad. One statement made by Epicurus is
that death is not bad, it is the dying part that is bad.

children here have easy lives. By the time they turn six though, children are expected to do

The Political Beliefs Of The Shia And Shia
Sunni and Shia are part of the 1.6 billion followers of Muslims across the world. After all, Shia
are a minority group that have been recently attacked by Sunnis. Shias are being targeted and killed
for their beliefs. Yet, Sunni and Shia have many similar beliefs and customs, but their main
difference is based on who should be the political figure. When the Sunni and Shia chose different
political figures, they also came upon different ideology. Soon as the prophet Muhammad died in
the seventh century, he did not designate a political ruler after his death. Thus, the country was left
without an appointed figure leaving the Muslim community without a caliphate. Consequently, the
people had to decide who was going to be appointed as the leader of the Muslim community. The
Sunni believed that Abu Bakr should be the leader and was given the popularity of the vote, but
Shia believed that the family of the prophet should be the leader. Shia argued that only Aliwas
qualified to uphold the spiritual values that underpinned the whole future direction of Islam.
(Rogerson 5) The disagreement of who should be leader grew to the establishment of Shia, who
supported Ali. Shia believed that Ali should have been the first caliphinstead of Abu Bakr being the
first. Shia came to the conclusion that Sunni falsified hadith and Abu angered Fatima, in which
Fatima was part of Muhammad causing Shia to believe that he does not have right to become first
caliph. As a result, that left Sunni

Negative Impact Of Immigration
Immigration is an agent of change, as it disturbed the status quos and existing demographic in these
3 communities. This is not to say that immigration itself is inherently provocative, but simply that it
initiates change to a community. By ( Nations Borders ) In different areas, immigration becomes a
huge issue. The community can become really crowded and over time, the population increases by
high amounts. People around the community can soon become bothered by all these immigrants
and try to take action in to their own hands. For example, the immigrant s neighbors and co workers
will try to deport them or take advantage of them. Although economic and demographic realities
may support opening doors for immigration, such arguments mean little to voters who feel they are
losing out. One poll found that more than 15 percent of Americans say they know someone who has
lost a job to an immigrant, or say they have suffered such a loss. Such citizens wonder, Why should
I pay the cost of immigration? What about me? according to the ( Why Does ). When more
immigrants immigrate to our communities, they begin to annoy people. They could make a
negative impact on jobs throughout the country.
America is known as the nation of immigrants but its status is being challenged by globalization.
This makes make s terrorism and migration much easier. In 2005, the immigration policy received

CFD Via Large Eddy Simulation Case Study
In chapter 3, it was shown that CFD via Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence closure is
capable of simulating ABL wind characteristics with a better agreement in compare to target
theoretical wind profiles for open terrain condition rather than the other turbulence closures of k
Оµ and Reynolds Stress Model (RSM). It is because LES uses a spatial filtering operation to
separate the larger eddies (which are more anisotropic) and smaller eddies (which are nearly
isotropic). However, the prescribed inlet velocity in chapter 3 for CFD model of the open jet
facility was a uniform windover the height of test section, and it was the rule of planks arrangement
to produce the final target wind profile. Furthermore, in chapter 4, some important... Show more

For wind engineering applications and simulation of flow around buildings, the validation can be
defined into two main phases, including: (1) wind flow characteristics validation; and, (2)
validation of simulated pressures on surfaces of building [99]. In this chapter, the CFD LES is
carried out to simulate the inflow turbulence content in such a way to compensate the lack of large
eddies in the flow. The generated transient inflow should possess natural wind characteristics with
both time (temporal) and space (spatial) correlations.
In this chapter, in order to make certain that the developed CFD LES model of a low rise
building and the inlet wind velocity fluctuations are in accordance to real world ABL properties,
the full scale benchmark data from the Wind Engineering Research Field Laboratory (WERFL)
at Texas Tech University (TTU) are used as field recorded wind pressure and velocity data. In
addition, wind tunnel measurement from NIST/UWO and open jet testing at LSU are compared
with CFD LES results. The effects of correlation of wind loading on the roof of low rise buildings
are investigated for each cases as well. In addition, the values of peak pressure coefficients are
compared with external pressure coefficients, GCp, specified for components and cladding (C C)

Essay On 80 s Culture
Culture of the 80s
The 1980s represented a change known as the glory days, something no one has seen since the
1920s. The exciting fast paced lifestyle is what captured most americans hearts. Life in general
brought something new to society between new consumer goods and expanding cultures. In the end
the 80s brought music, dance, television, movies, famous figures, and literature that would forever
shape America.
Changes in music were inspired by social and political issues at the time. It was most definitely a

Third Person Omniscient Narrator
The special knowledge the third person omniscient narrator has can be useful in employing
writerly techniques not available to other points of view (POV). Having unlimited information
and the power to dole it out as desired is a super power that can be used for good or evil
(symbolically speaking LOL!). The act of being an omniscient narratorcan influence the plot and
character development as well as the atmospheric tension and emotional impact felt by the reader.
When used for good the third person omniscient intrusive narrator can weave their own
personality, opinions, and attitudes into the story. An author can engage readers with humor,
pathos, irony, etc. This type of narrator is practically the main character as we see everything
filtered through their bias and personality. If a reader enjoys the narrators voice, this POV can be
an enjoyable read. Two glaring negatives of this viewpoint are that if you don t like the narrator,
you probably won t finish the story and when the narrator directly addresses the reader; it can feel
old fashioned if not cleverly done.
The third person omniscient neutral narrator makes no pronouncements or judgments and strives to
unobtrusively tell the story while also having access to all knowledge and the power to wield

Boomers And Intergenerational Communication
Introduction
Communication is the exchange of information or ideas between two or more parties. Workplace
communication is that exchange operating inside the workplace, and is a topic of consistent
importance. New media is regularly integrated, new studies are completed about different
personality characteristics, and varying ages leave and enter the workforce. This report provides a
summary of findings about intergenerational communication in the workplace, specifically between
Boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, Generation X, born between 1965 and 1980, and
Millennials, or Generation Y, born between 1981 and 1997 for Eller, Inc. s use in an upcoming
project (CNN Library). Details about each generation s communication preferences, strengths,
weaknesses, and integration of the communication methods of the three generations can be found
throughout.
Communication Preferences
Boomers
Baby Boomers lean towards more traditional methods of communication in the workplace. Although
they are generally familiar with email and the internet, Boomers tend to prefer communication via
face to face meetings or by phone (Morris, 2013). Perine offers similar information, stating that
meetings are the best means of brainstorming, creating solutions to problems, and discussing
business propositions. Further, maintenance of established hierarchical roles is important to
Boomers, as well as direct conversations with details and facts (Perine, 2012). According to De La

Personal Media Manifesto Essay

Media usage however, also has it down falls, from cyber bullying to misrepresenting news to

our everyday lives. Which ever way you look at it, media can be interpreted in many different

even though I am aware of it I still tend to let it get to me because it is in almost every aspect of
my life. I personally do not use media as much as society tends to interpret about my generation
and peers. I limit myself and have control over how much time I spend on my social accounts. I
have one Instagram account and a snapchat account. Instagram was originally made to allow users
to post pictures and it is now used for news, pictures, videos, direct messages and much more.
These changes have been added because of the demand that lies within its users, who get easily
bored. Almost every time I log onto my account I see pictures of nearly naked women and
inappropriate comments from men. What is dangerous about this

Nordstrom, By John W. Nordstrom Essay
Nordstrom, created in 1901 by John W. Nordstrom as a small shoe store in Seattle, Washington,
is a major department store located in the United States and Canada. At Nordstrom you can find
apparel, home goods, shoes, and accessories for your daily lives. Nordstrom has over 300 stores
located in 40 states and has become one of the top department stores through their innovative
tactics, great customer service, welcoming store environment, and their wide range of brands
and products. Nordstrom today is known as one of the most innovative department stores
because they are always coming out with new ways to improve their stores and delivery system
to make it easier for employees and customers. One way Nordstrom is doing this is by
implementing their program Buy Online, Pickup in Store . When shopping online you can find
an item you would like to buy and if you need it in the upcoming days instead of between three to
eight business day, which is the usual shipping time, you can see if it is in a store near you and
then purchase it online and then the Buy Online, Pickup in Store team will go around the store
to find your items and then you pick it up in the store at the service bar so you do not even have
to go to the department that it was purchased from. I have as a customer used this program
numerous times, one time I used it to pick up a last minute dress for an upcoming dance so I
picked it up the same day I bought it online and it was a quick and easy process. Another

Comcast Universal Merger Case Study
Company and Situation
In December 2009, Comcast announced its intent to acquire a majority stake in the media
conglomerate NBC Universal from General Electric (GE). The planned acquisition was subject to
scrutiny from activists and government officials; their concerns primarily surrounded the potential
effects of the vertical integration that the acquisition could create, as Comcast is also heavily
involved in cable television and internet services in many media markets. The deal went through,
resulting in Comcast owning 51% of the company until March 2013, when GE divested its stake to
give Comcast sole ownership.
Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts described the deal as a perfect fit for the company, as Comcast
would be able to bolster its role as a creator and distributor of content, with a particular emphasis on
multiplatform anytime, anywhere media that American consumers are demanding ; increasing
access to NBC owned content through various platforms. The deal would also add Comcast s own
cable channels to NBCU s existing suite of cable networks, contributing to 82% of the merged
company s total revenue. Despite the focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ownership remained split at 51% to 49% for four years. Then, on February 12, 2013, Comcast
announced its intention to complete the purchase all at once and assume 100% ownership of the
company by the end of March.
The acquisition was completed March 19, 2013. The video marketplace has changed structurally
with or without Comcast NBC acquisition. More and more videos, programs and advertisements
are displayed on the Internet, not the traditional media channel, television. The video business
model has gradually changed as time goes by. Comcast has reached such a significant scale that it
now owns a huge large amount of media and entertainment properties. However, facing the
uncertainty of video marketplace, many people proposed their

Bill Gates and Nolan Bushnell
Pioneers of Computer Programming
When you think of 21st century computing, two things come to mind: Windows and video games.
Learning Team A introduces you to the two men responsible for these phenomena В– Bill Gates
and Nolan Bushnell.
William Henry Gates III
During that late 1960 s and early 1970 s, BASIC was one of the premier programming languages.
At that time, Bill Gates and his friend Paul Allen made the commitment to learn BASIC by reading
the user manuals. In exchange for computer time, they made an agreement with a local company
called the Computer Center Corporation to provide de bugging services for software on the
company s DEC machine. This time was used not only to search for errors, but also to study the

After seeing the magazine article, Gates contacted Ed Roberts of the MITS Company and
proposed to that he write some BASIC software for the Altair. The MITS personnel were
impressed with the initial work that Gates and his friends had completed and decided to meet with
them to test the team s code. After a successful demonstration of the code, Gates made the decision
to leave school and move to Albuquerque and work with MITS on the Altair.
After the move Gates would devote his energies to Microsoft, a company that he would establish in
1975 with Allen. Guided by a belief that the computer would be a valuable tool on every office
desktop and in every home, they began developing software for personal computers. Microsoft
would sell its BASIC system to MITS, NCR and Intel. It proved to be more cost effective for
companies to buy Microsoft software rather than spend the time and money to develop their own.
In January of 1979, Gates made the decision to move Microsoft to Seattle, Washington. Gates
believed that part of the country was better suited for recruiting programmers. Microsoft adopted a
new standard for hiring employees; the company decided to hire only the most gifted and
intelligent new college graduates rather than experienced programmers. The company was looking
for talent that came with no previous programming biases. The expansions of personnel would lead

The Pros And Cons Of Onboarding
I am a manager. So managers have specific responsibilities when it comes to the socialization of
people hiring. The process of introducing a new employee to company culture and other
employees is often referred to as onboarding. And there are indeed ethical implications involved in
the socialization process. Management is tasked with introducing a company s mission, culture,
rules and procedures to new employees. Ethics play a role in the way management chooses to do
this. The process of onboarding new hires requires management to impart the organization s
purpose, mission and goals. Onboarding also requires management to provide new a hires with a
complete description of their job and inform them of their responsibilities, beyond what was... Show

An ascribed status, on the other hand, is one that beyond an individual s control. It is not earned,
but rather something people are either born with or had no control over. Examples of ascribed
status include sex and race. Children usually have more ascribed statuses than adults since they do
not usually have a choice in most matters. A family social statusor socioeconomic status, for
instance, would be an achieved status for adults, but an ascribed status for children.
Homelessness might also be another example. For adults, homelessness usually comes by way
of achieving, or rather not achieving, something. For children, however, homelessness is not
something they have any control over. They become as such by default of their parents actions.
Role conflict is a tension that occurs when a person is facing multiple roles having multiple
statuses. It means that it occurs between two or more than two roles. I have experienced role

friend, same time I have to go for school for my daughter parent meeting and also I have to go for

Climate change is real and denial is no more a policy!
Abstract: For last 37 years as a world we have spent lot of time in studying climate change and
fixing a blame. First World Climate Conference was held on 12 23 February 1979 in Geneva.
(wikipedia) It was one of the first major international meetings on climate change. We are studying
climate change, it s impact, causes and how to fix mess created by us. But now it s high time for us
to move forward and act on controlling Human contribution to Greenhouse Gases(GHG) which is
major contributing factor to climate change. This way we are giving back to society and future

So we need to look for Electrical Vehicle (EV) and renewable energy.
With current level of awareness for climate change people are changing their attitude toward mother
earth and nature. They are increasingly looking toward less polluting vehicles and renewable
energy (like solar / wind energy) for their day to day energy needs. Also different government
across worlds are promoting development and use of EV automobiles and renewable energy.
Government are giving incentives like congestion pricing, highway tolls, carpooling lanes, tax
rebates on green vehicle (environmentally preferable vehicles).
This change is society is forcing different organisation to develop green technology. Better Place
and few other companies like Tesla, Renault Nissan, Indian REVA, Fortwo is working toward this
goal of new world where we human will be using green technology and not harming climate. This
is change is leading toward all major automobiles working on electrical or alternative fuel cars like
Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV).
Recommendation:
Along with current incentives government should promote infrastructure development for mass
rapid transportation system. This will reduce per capita energy use.
Different organisation is coming with their own innovation and lot of those innovation is
happening in developed countries. These countries should promote transfer of technology to
developing countries. This way majority of world population

Getting Into The Real Estate
If you re thinking about getting into the real estate business then there s a lot you need to take

years now and I admit that in the beginning I had no clue about the costs, work, or time involved
in getting started. All I knew was I wanted to do it so I dove in head first without doing the
research. Don t make that mistake. While real estatecan be a very rewarding practice, it s not
necessarily for everyone. It takes a person with a special type of motivation and sales skills to
make a living with the job and most agents can t handle the aspect of complete freedom without
abusing their time. If you re curious about what it takes to get started, then this article will clear
things up. First of all, it s important for you to know exactly what a real estate agent does. An
agent assists clients in buying or selling houses. A real estate agent must have a great knowledge
of the local market and is able to tell someone how much their house is worth. Agents also must
have a general knowledge of the communities in the area, as well as any restrictions or covenants
for that same area. In a way, real estate agents serve as the backbone to the entire deal. We assist
buyers in finding a good mortgage broker, home inspector, termite inspector, closing attorney, and
many other aspects. On the flip side, real estate agents that represent sellers are required to help

Sleepless In Seattle Plot Analysis
Theme The theme of a movie is an idea, issue, or concept that a writer wants to express through a
story; a message or meaning that the audience is meant to take away from a movie.
(Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014) The theme of Sleepless in Seattle is best stated by Tom Hanks in the
beginning of the film, and I ll grow a new heart. (Arch, 1992) Can true lovehappen for the second
time? The theme of this movie is about answering this question. Will Sam find love again?
Acting Style When you think of acting style in movies, you are looking for how the actors/actresses
represent the characters for the story. Tom Hanksis such a multitalented actor, but in Sleepless in
Seattle, he expertly plays a heartbroken widower and the father of Jonah. Meg Ryan is the
ultimate hopeless romantic and plays her role as Annie to perfection. Bill Pullman is wonderful
in his role as a skilled business professional, who is Annie s fiancГ©, Walter. Sam is Mr.
Sleepless in Seattle. Annie has overwhelming compassion for Jonah and Sam after hearing their
story on the radio station. Maybe Annie felt sorry for Jonah after hearing him asking for a new
wife for his dad, or maybe it was just magic and fate that made her fall in love with Sam before
even meeting him. Walter is calm and understanding when his engagement to Annie ends because
Annie says she just has to meet Sleepless in Seattle

Concepts Of Authority In Mohawk Interruptus By Audra Simpson
Authority is important for any leader or government, because that is how decisions are accepted as
right. Sovereignty is the recognition by other states that one government has the authority to control
a certain territory. As well as the acceptance of rule by the people One major reading that contests
this idea of sovereigntyis the book Mohawk Interruptus by Audra Simpson, which discusses the
trials of Native American populations and their efforts to reclaim their own sovereignty. Within
Mohawk Interruptus, the people of the KahnawГЎ:ke tribe struggle against the colonial idea of
American or Canadian sovereignty lorded over them, and through refusal of such gifts regain their
sovereignty. ... Kahnawa kehrГі:non had refused the authority of the stateat almost every turn and in
so doing reinstated a different political authority (Simpson, 2014, 106). Through these rejections,
the people of KahnawГЎ:ke and Kahnawa kehrГі:non established that the current system of
sovereignty does not work for them, as it is colonially based to oppress the Native American
communities. Simpson uses these examples to make a larger point on the Western systems of
governance and understandings of authority. Though this idea of sovereignty, Simpson argues, was
a way to appropriate land and incorporate or destroy opposing cultures. Through the research of
Hannah Ardent, it is considered that sovereignty has been used to forcefully assimilate minority
populations of nations. Within her paper on the

Medical application of RFID for patient health care enhancement is therefore the focal point of this

Compare and Contrast the Causes of the 1905 and 1917...
Compare and contrast the causes of the 1905 and 1917 revolutions in Russia In 1905 and 1917
Russia was tormented by chaotic revolutions. The workers and the intelligentsia had arrived at the
point of hating the autocracy because they could no longer endure the suffering, hunger and
repression that the tsarist policies brought with them. Years later Lenin referred to the revolution of
1905 as a dress rehearsal for the October Revolution of 1917. In 1905 tsardom nearly fell. Nicholas
II succeeded in remaining in power, stabilizing the situation, only thanks to various concessions.
However, his continuing to rule harshly and unwisely brought him to be forced to abdicate in the

The power still has to be snatched from the hands of the old rulers and handed over to the
revolution. That is the fundamental task. A general strike only creates the necessary
preconditions; it is quite inadequate for achieving the task itself (Trotsky). The ineffectiveness
of the strikes can be found in the fact that in nearly every occasion the soldiers were ordered to
shoot on the crowd, stopping the revolts and leaving the tsar as obnoxious to the situation as
before. Also the peasants in the countryside suffered land hunger due to the growth of population
caused by the decreased of mortality rates. Backwardness was also caused by the open field
system , which didn t motivate the peasants to improve their machinery or seeding methods since
their land would be taken away from them and redistributed when a member of the community
died. Nicholas II was a weak, indecisive and obstinate ruler who, being very conservative and
reactionary, used extensively the secret police ( Third Section ) and the army to suppress uprisings
and political enemies. He alienated the intelligentsia and angered the liberals with his lack of
political participation and exaggerated reliance on the Fundamental laws, which said that the tsar
was appointed by god and was rightfully in charge of the country. As a response, the liberals
initiated a banquet campaign that started in November 1904, and ended in January 1905 with the
aim of making the tsar give

AMH 2097 Paper 2
The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever
since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the
Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant
group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant
group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had
when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they
were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The

Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in
society without disturbing the WASPs at all.
The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also
proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still
exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels.
Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated.
The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take
care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The
only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants
that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who
came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful
and smooth immigration into America.
Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the
Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came
over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and
unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They
were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on

Microchips in humans
Microchips in Humans In today s society, technology continues to find new ways to protect our
children and families. Several devises have already been developed to track children when they
are away from home. These devises work by GPS signal to track the movement of the child and
are worn externally or are imbedded in an item of clothing. There are also GPS devices already
approved for implantation in humans. VeriChip was the only Food and Drug Administration
approved human implantable microchip for use in medical purposes (DHHS pg. 71702 71704).
These developments have sparked a debate over whether we should consider implanting microchips
in humans for tracking and safety reasons and not just medical purposes. Today there are... Show

In combination with the surgery, the implant represents a permanent intrusion of our privacy.
With an implanted microchip, your brain is hotwired into a computer that has a GPS tracking
systems to monitor your movements, every minute of every day, for the rest of your life. Just
imagine how creepy that really sounds. The concept of privacy for anyone implanted would
never exist again. To protect our privacy, we need to better understand its value and the purpose
it serves. Privacy is understood as an important barrier that gives us space to develop an identity
that is separate from the supervision, assessments, and values of our society. Privacy is crucial
for helping us manage all of the pressures that shape the type of person we are in society. Privacy
is also used as the groundwork to protect our other fundamental rights. If our right to privacy were
compromised then our other rights would soon faultier as well. To implant microchips into human
being seems to be a clear case of intrusion of our bodies and our lives. Another reason our
government should not allow microchips implanted in humans is that it would serve no real
purpose except to track our movements and why should anyone have that much power over any
individual. We need to consider the bigger picture as stated in this article: Imagine what the
government could do with this kind of technology. If it wanted to, it could use this technology to
track literally every movement and behavior of

Interventions and Care for Patients
Evidence Based Practice Paper
Evidence based practice uses current research and clinical judgment to provide interventions and
care for patients (Kelly, 2012). It is important for nurses and all healthcare team members to be up
to date on current practices so patients can receive evidence based interventions that improve
clinical outcomes. According to Kelly (2012), almost half of patients that receive care, receive
interventions that are not based on evidence which can ultimately compromise the safety of patients
and their health outcomes. Peripheral intravenous therapy (PIV) is a common practice in the acute
care setting and evidence based practices have been established to drive appropriate care for this
intervention.
Almost all patients that are admitted into the acute care setting require peripheral intravenous
therapy. PIV therapy is an important factor in the care of patients in the hospital and it is most
often used to maintain or correct fluid and electrolyte balances, administer medications, and replace
blood or blood products (Ignatavicius and Workman, 2013). PIV therapy is an invasive therapy that
requires catheter insertion into the vascular system and access is gained through the patient s skin.
Because this is an invasive procedure, patients are at a risk of developing catheter related infections.
Catheter related infections are preventable and as nurses it is our responsibility to maintain the PIV
site and use the appropriate protocols and interventions to

Comparing Themes And Reflection Of A Piano Concert By...
On September 12th, 2017, I attended a piano concert by Jeffrey Jacobs that consisted of some
various 20th century repertoire composed by Ian Dicke, BГ©la Bartok, George Crumb, and Dr.
Takuma Itoh. All of these pieces were extremely fascinating to listen to, and I enjoyed every
minute of it.
The first two pieces on the program, entitled Intermezzo and Soliloquy, were
both written by Dr. Itoh. Both works contain contrasting differences in themes, difficulty, and
structure. According to Dr. Itoh, Intermezzo was written for a children s piano competition
therefore, it wasn t written to be a highly virtuosic work, but a work of simplicity. As I was
listening, I thought that it was a very gentle piece that somewhat reminded me of the beginning
measures of Debussy s The Snow is Dancing from his suite Children s Corner, in terms of
color. In fact, the tranquility and repetitive patterns of Intermezzo reminded me of a gentle,
light snowfall with contemplation and reflection taking place. Unlike Intermezzo, Soliloquy
sounded more technically complex and virtuosic. However, like Intermezzo, Soliloquy also
had repetitive patterns, and recurring themes. To describe Soliloquy, I d say that this piece

The Waste Land And Recitatif Analysis
History and writing between the Civil War up to the present day has drastically changed. Being in
a Modern American Literature class, class readings are over the changes in writings, the way
dialect or speaking has modernized, and the author s thoughts. Many would think coming into a
Modern American Literature class would be more modernized stories and poems. In our syllabus,
The Waste Landlacks out of showing direct thoughts, being reliable enough to understand and real
modern history. Which, is why I believe The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot should be switched out with
Recitatif by Toni Morrison. I will be comparing and contrasting The Waste Land with Toni Morrison
s Recitatif on setting, writing skills, and the authors themselves.
By comparing both stories, both authors, Morrison and Eliot made sure they explained to us how
emotionally available they were to both situations. The Waste Land and Recitatif were both
published at a time where humans were truly needing the truth of reality. The Waste Land
published after World War 1, in 1915, which was a very unhappy time period for Europeans. The
setting was set in London but different areas, yet each speaker was set in a mental setting which
made them realize it was a waste land. It is one of the hardest stories that we have read this
semester and does not include any historical context, more of an emotional context from different
speakers. Thus, the point of the story. Eliot knows it is difficult to understand, he realizes

Turbulent Flow Trial in Pipe Flow Experiment
For experiment 100 (pipe flow) there were some operational errors that took place during the lab
period. There was one accident that involved the safety officer and the cross trainer that was
there for the first lab period. Both the cross trainer and the safety officer were near the viscometer
as they were both operating it. When the cross trainer finished utilizing the suction bulb, he was
instructed by the team leader to begin recoding the density measurements. The cross trainer
reached into the water bath picking up a volumetric flask by its cap, this caused the flask to slip
from its cap and fall to the table. While this was happening, the safety officer was crouched near
the cross trainer with a stopwatch trying to record the liquids efflux time. As the flask was falling
the safety officer reached out to catch it and accidently cut his hand when the flask hit the table.
Review attached accident report in the appendix for further detail of the accident.
During the first lab period, after the accident was cleaned up, we were able to obtain four density
and viscosity measurements for both water and propylene glycol at different temperatures. For the
pipe flow experiments, we were able to complete eight trials for turbulent flow experiment, twenty
trials for the pump performance experiment, and five trials for the laminar experiment. These trial
numbers were short of our goal of finishing all of the trials for both turbulent laminar for that day
because of the accident

Analysis Of The Movie Stand And Deliver
This paper will be explaining the different types of leadership skill that I notice in the movie Stand
and Deliver. The movie is a true story about a teacher who fought against all odd to help poor Latin
students to pass the advance placement test in calculus. He motivates the students with everything
that he could think of. The students received such a high test score that the testing center though
they had cheated. The first leadershiptheory Jamie Escalante demonstrates is Leader Member
Exchange theory. Jamie is waking the hall, looking for his classroom. Jamie enters the
classroom, he sees the students standing and talking, he sees girls sitting in boys lap. Jamie tells
the student to take a seat. They act like they don t hear him talking. Jamie tell them again to take
a seat, one girl makes a comment asking if the class can talk about sex. Jamie comment, what
one female student mentions could cost me my job. The students stop talking and start looking
at Jamie and wondering what he is talking about. The second leadership theory Jamie shows is
Situational Approach, when Angel and Finger Man come late to class. Jamie has Finger Man to
take the seat in the front of the class and Angel to stand in the back. Jamie asks Finger Man if he
brought his tools to class. Finger Man tells Jamie that he uses his head. Jamie then tells him that
this is his class and if he wants to be a part then he needs to be on time. During the staff meeting

The Importance Of Civil Engineering
When you hear of the word engineering, what comes to mind? Do you think of a train engine
rolling over the plains of South Dakota? Maybe you think of a bridge or a road? If you thought of
either of those things, you are correct. Furthermore, Civil Engineering is all of these things and a
little more. Civil engineeringis arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built
environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid
a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across (Civil Engineering). Some of the first
ever examples of the civil engineering was the roof and the bridge. Eventually, our knowledge and
tools advanced to enhance the durability and aestheticism of roads, bridges, and buildings. In
addition to roads and bridges, civil engineering also deals with planes, cars, and boats as well.
In order to become a civil engineer or any job, for instance, you must study and become a
perfectionist in that field. Studying in the school of engineering does not focus on just one subject
of study. To put differently, to become a professional in the job of an engineer you must excel in
mathematics. Math is one of the largest staples in engineering, architecture, and business. Diving
deeper, at Iowa State University Calculus 1 and 2 are two required courses to be taken in order to
continue in the path of engineering. In order to build the building that is aesthetically and
structurally sufficient engineers

The Battle of Bunker Hill No one likes being told what to do. In a way the Battle of Bunker Hill
started the same way as an argument would between a parent and a teenager. This is one of the
many things that have caused problems between other countries, they give people more freedom
and eventually they want more independence. Somethings said and done also can t be undone or

this. The Battle of Bunker Hill occurred on June 17, 1775. It mostly took place on Breed s Hill in

Understand the Principles of Developing Positive...
3.1: Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
1.1 I am going to use the role of a T.A for the purpose of explaining the importance of
communication and relationships simply for example purposes.
(A) Communication has always been the most important skill when socialising and building
relationships with people. When first meeting or approaching an individual, be it a child, young
person or adult, body language and facial expressions can form good vibes between individuals.
By bearing this in mind, a T.A can form a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in which to work
upon and follow up with good verbal communication. On the flip side, cold and expressionless body
language could create an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using appropriate body language i.e. nodding, facial expressions and commenting on what the
individual has to say, and generally showing interest during the conversation, can reinforce
relationships by helping to make the person feel valued, listened to and respected.
Adapt your way of communication accordingly
(B) The T.A should ensure they communicate in a pleasant and clear manner in any situation. In
addition they should take into account whom they are communicating with and adapt their level of
communication accordingly. Naturally the use of language should be adapted appropriately when
conversing with adults or children. Choice of words can ensure children are not overwhelmed by
use of intimidating words they don t understand. The T.A may find it necessary to mentally assess
the individual in order to judge if the person needs to have instructions or conversation relayed more
carefully. Empathy and patience is highly important when communicating with particular
individuals who have might speech disorders or who are particularly vulnerable or sensitive people.
Having respect and consideration for individuals
Regardless of how you adapt to the level of communication to accommodate the needs of
individuals, each person should be treated equally and with respect. It may be that a person is of
different race, culture, religion, mental ability or have an obvious difficult background. This should

Multimedia Big Data Analysis Framework For Semantic...
%chapter{Conclusions and Future Work} chapter{CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE WORK}
label{chapter:Conclusions} section{Conclusions} In this dissertation a multimedia big data
analysis framework for semantic information management and retrieval is presented. It contains
three coherent components, namely multimedia semantic representation, multimedia concept
classification and summarization, and multimedia temporal semantics analysis and ensemble
learning. These three components are seamlessly integrated and act as a coherent entity to provide
essential functionalities in the proposed information management and retrieval framework. More
specifically: egin{itemize} item A novel correlation based feature analysis method is presented to
derive HCFGs for multimedia semantic retrieval on mobile devices. The proposed framework
explores the mutual information from multiple modalities by performing correlation analysis for
each feature pair and separating the original feature set into different HCFGs by using the affinity
propagation algorithm at the feature level. Then, a novel fusion scheme is proposed to fuse the
testing scores from selected HCFGs to obtain optimal performance. Finally, an iPad application is
developed based on our proposed system with a user feedback processing system to refine the
retrieval results. item A hierarchical disaster image classification scheme based on textual and
visual information fusion is proposed for enhancing disaster situation reports with

Loss Of Sleep Analysis
Adamoond s eyelids sagged heavily as he rested his head on his desk. Maybe it wasn t the best
idea to go on a League of Legends marathon yesterday. he thought. He had played over 10 hours
of nonstop League of Legends and had pulled an all nighter. He felt drowsy and loosened his
muscles. The teacher was talking about linking verbs, but he didn t care. He heaved out a big
sigh as his thoughts drifted away and he went to sleep. Have you ever felt like this? The role of
sleeping and napping in our lives is very important and necessary. There are a number of harmful
effects that occur because of sleep loss, but napping can mitigate these effects. First off, there is a
right amount of sleep for everyone and it is always different. On paragraph... Show more content on

On page 4 it says that bad sleep habits and long term sleep loss can affect your long term health.
But on page 7, it says you can counteract the mistakes a tired person makes, if you take short naps.
Astronauts in space average 2 hours less sleep than usual as stated on page 6. This makes them
grumpy and have trouble concentrating. However, a nap could help them make fewer mistakes
and boost their mental performance. So you should try to get the right amount for your age
group, or else you will suffer these negative effects. Luckily, napping can help you regain lost
sleep, help you focus, and counteract the effects of loss of sleep. On page 6, it tells you that
scientific studies prove the benefits of naps. In fact, nappers may even have better long term
health compared to people who don t nap as stated on page 8. On nights when you don t get
enough sleep, napping can help. Napping for as little as 24 minutes improves your mental
performance. Therefore, napping can help you if you don t get enough sleep. In conclusion, there
are many negative effects because of sleep loss but napping can help lessen these effects. So for
everyone, there is a right amount of sleep, but if that isn t met napping can help reduce the bad
effects that lack of sleep caused. Seems like Adamoond should have taken a power

The Mexican American War
One of the most iconic wars during the 1800th was the Mexican American War, where the United
States and Mexico were having a dispute between both countries borders. During this time Mexico
had just gain independence from Spain and them were now their own country. Throughout all of
this, Mexico believed that the Nueces river was the border between them and the United States
while the U.S believed that it was the Rio Grande that was the border between both countries.
Unlike them trying to argue what river divided the country, a time when much of the country had
strong feelings of manifest destiny. The United States believed that it was gods chosen people to
inherit North America land. The United states offer Mexico30 million dollars in exchange... Show

greedy and the idea that they can take anything they want by force. In the end, Mexico had the
right to respond when the U.S invaded them, they defended their territory and stoop up for glory
even thou they lost part of the country. We can all say that perhaps the war could have been taken
differently and the U.S should have just respected Mexico s right to own their

Stereotypes In The Violin
The Violin is a movie that begins how the movie ends, kind of like how Pulp Fiction a notorious
movie for doing this, starts off with how the movie ends then at the end the movie all comes
together. The Violin displays the lives of a grandfather (Plutarco), father (Genaro) , and son
(Lucio) that first start off by playing music asking for money, no one seems interested in giving
them money. As day turns into night Genaro goes into a type of bar to get fire arms, at first this is
confusing but as the story progresses we understand that a rebellionagainst soldiers that are raiding

Like the movie Frida, it is about the famous Mexican woman painter that was fluent in Spanish,
but the movie was Hollywood washed out and was spoken in English for majority of the movie.
It was really hard to believe that these fluent Spanish speakers would rather speak English in a
movie about Mexican culture and art. With that being said, The Violin has more authenticity to
it just by simply having Latino characters that also speak Spanish, it gives that authenticity and
also makes the setting seem more real. It is a lot better when Latinos play Latino roles because
representation matters, if we have Anglo Saxon actors play Latino roles this is going to suppress
many young Latinos self worth. The self worth goes down because when they see an actor with
heavy European features playing a Latino character it breeds this self hate to a generation that
they wish that they had these features because that s what Hollywood deems as worthy . The
director hit the nail on the head with this movie and made it so authentic that I feel like this is
was a page ripped out of a history book. It really sparks a conversation to be started, and when a
director contributes positively to the conversation then they have done their job

The thermal conductivity has been assumed to obey the same nonlinear rheological model of the viscosity function; as well as, the viscous dissipation has been comprised in the energy equation. The governing PDEs are reduced to a set of ODEs; using the generalized Von Karman similarity transformations; for which finite difference numerical scheme is implemented based on its associated boundary conditions. The influence of the non Newtonian fluid characteristics on the distributions of fluid velocity components, temperature and concentration of suspended nanoparticles has been analyzed. The significant effects of thermal radiation, Brownian motion and thermophoresis phenomenon on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Global Epidemic Of Elder Abuse Essay Evidence suggests that one in 10 older adults experiences some form of elder abuse, but only one in 25 cases is reported to social services agencies (Dong, 2012, p. 2151). Elder mistreatment can occur in a variety of settings including domestic and assisted living. Elder abuse includes psychological, physical, and sexual abuse; neglect to include both caregiver and self neglect; and financial exploitation. With the vast explosion of the aging population in today s society elder abuse can no longer loom in the shadows. Literature Review After many years, the global epidemic of elder abuse is beginning to receive the public attention it desperately needs. Forty years after child abuse and domestic violence first entered mainstream of the publics eye, elder abuse, which attacks all demographic, geographic, and economic populations on earth is finally making headway. Studies have shown that elder abuse is severely underreported with about 10% of all elderly being subjected to some form of abuse and an estimated less than half of these cases ever get reported (B. J., Holroyd Leduc, 2012). The American dreams includes that we believe in the right to live free of abuse, neglect and exploitation and violence regardless of age, gender, race and economic standing. Statement of Problem According to Gibson and Qualls (2012) victims of elder abuse are usually, white widowed females ages 70 to 89, however anybody can be affected. The first step is understanding what elder abuse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pretivation Of Child Observation On Child And Children I observed a male with a female child (approximately 2 years of age) walking around the store to buy some hot food to eat. The adult carries a basket in one hand and the other hand holds the child s hand. The child wants to hold the basket which it is full of fresh vegetables and frying sausages and sticky rice. The adult bends down and says, You can t carry the basket because it s very heavy and you are still small to carry it. You may hurt yourself. Okay? The child looks a little sad and replies, Okay. The adult then continues as they both walking away, the adult says, You can carry it when you get older like Daddy, ok? The child replied with okay! The method observed was the Cognitive Method (Reasoning) The evidence supports that this socialization method as cognitive method (reasoning) was that the male explained to the child that the child was still small and she shouldn t be carry a heavy basket because she may hurt herself. What you observed I observed a small group of 4 people, 1 male and 1 female adults and 2 female child (approximately 1 ВЅ and 3 years of age) blowing bubbles at the park. The male shows both child to blow bubbles out of a bubble stick. The adult male would try to blow the bubbles first and then gives the two girls a chance to blow the bubbles. The older child tries to blow air into the whole of the bubble stick but nothing happens. The adult male shows the child with encouragement and says, You have to blow air slowly like ... • 5. Principle Of Pigeonhole Principle Pigeonhole Principle Introduction: In 1834, the mathematician Peter Gustav Dirichlet (1805 1859), developed the idea of what we know today as the Pigeonhole Principle (2009). It is also commonly called Dirichlet s box principle or Dirichlet s drawer principle in dissimilar parts of the world. The Pigeonhole Principle is an extremely essential and easy concept to comprehend, yet when applied to higher level problem solving can very complicated to detect and use (2009). This powerful Pigeonhole Principle may be presented in a few different ways: 1.) If m pigeons are put into m pigeonholes, there is an unfilled hole if and only if there s a hole with more than one pigeon, 2.) If n pigeons are put into m pigeonholes where n m, there s a hole with more than one pigeon, 3.) Let |A| denote the number of elements in a finite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Definition: The pigeonhole principle states that if n items are located into m containers, with n m, then at least one container necessity contains more than one item This theorem is exemplified in real life by axioms similar to there must have got to be at least two left gloves or two right gloves in a cluster of three gloves . To get a better understanding of how the Pigeonhole Principle is essentially used, below are a few examples of the application of this valuable idea. With each example, however, connections stuck between the pigeons and the pigeonholes will be distinguished to help out identify with what accomplishment needs to be complete with each trouble. The initial pair of examples will be essential problems followed by more challenging and higher level problems. Uses and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was my cousin, grandpa, uncle, my uncle s friend, then my dad and I. We were in the High sierra Mountains in california. We did not expect the trail to be this difficult. We overcame obstacles that seemed impossible. Once we arrived to the campsite we stayed their for a few days. That hike made me realize what true success really feels like. After a good night s rest, we headed off to the trail. We had to take frequent breaks, because the air was super thin. The trail was rocky, uneven, and slippery. If I were to fall that would be very very bad. I thought it was easy, but then the impossible happened. No one in the group thought it was part of the trail. The rain has washed out the trail. • 11. The s Theory Of Structural Empowerment With the global nursing shortage, organizations are looking for strategies to retain nurses. One strategy for nurse retention is, encouraging nurses to get certified, according to research studies. The population affected by nurse certification is the nurse, the patient, and the organization. Organizations need to invest into getting nurses certified in their specialty area. Research proves that certified nurses self perception is a sense of empowerment. The Iowa Model of Evidence Based Practice will be utilized to guide the change to practice. A literature search was conducted using one of the world s largest database search engines, the Academic Search Complete (EBSCO). The search resulted in over 300 journal articles, which were then evaluated and categorized using the evidence hierarchy rating system. The theoretical framework was the Kanter s theory of structural empowerment. Fostering the nurses self perception of empowerment, which comes with being certified is a mediator of personal growth; increased competence and confidence; enhanced knowledge and self esteem; and ultimately retention. Specialty nursecertification proves the nurse continued commitment to education and practice, which are ongoing instead of episodic, and thus more consistent with the changes in healthcare. With the rising cuts in healthcare a constraint organization may face with the implementation of a plan to encourage nurses to get certified is funding. Nurse Certification The goal ... • 12. Witchcraft Is The Existence Of Magic That Is Manipulated... Witchcraft in Nepal Witchcraft is the belief of magic that is manipulated for both good and wicked purposes (McGarry, 2016). The practice of witchcraft is demonstrated in many societies around the world; however, witchcraft is looked down upon. In this case, two societies in Nepal are significant for the practices and beliefs of witchcraft: the Tibetan Nyinba, and the Kathmandu Village. These two societies believe in witchcraft because of the harmful and malicious practices [witches] hold within these societies. The Tibetan and Kathmandu hold remarkably similar beliefs about witchcraft such as, Women inherit witchery, and is executed though emotional traits and the mind (Gellner, 1994; Levine, 1982). Next, these societies have formed beliefs about witches based on noted practices and stories of witchcraft. To include, another major factor that the Tibetan and Kathmandu believe about witchcraft is the deviance and darkness behind witchery. By comparing these close knit societies, witchcraft in Nepal is believed to be unsettling and harmful among members of the groups. To begin with, it is an important determent to know that it is women who are practicing witchcraft among these societies. The Tibetan and Kathmandu Village believe that Women carry the hereditary to witchery and Women among lower social class is linked to witchcraft (Gellner, 1994; Levine, 1982). • 13. What Is The Theme Of Balzac And The Little Chinese Seamstress In Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie, the narrator is sent from his village to the countryside for his re education process. Although literature is forbidden there, he gains access to a wide range of literature, introducing him to numerous themes previously unknown to him. Similar to Plato s The Allegory of the Cave, in which philosophers face dangerous but rewarding consequences from their knowledge, the narrator experiences both perils and benefits from his knowledge of literature. Society chastises the narrator for attaining such knowledge, as Communist leader Mao Zedongs re education process strives to limit education. However, the narrator also benefits because he learns about himself and spreads this knowledge to his community. Mao Zedong, the Great Helmsman of China s Revolution (Sijie 6), first launched his re education process in 1968. He strived to limit education by prohibiting literature and sending young intellectuals such as the narrator to the countryside. Through this re education process, the narrator travels to the mountain of the Phoenix of the Sky, where he evolves into one of Mao s subjects. The narrator works arduously under Mao s communal model in the fields and acknowledges his infinitesimal (17) chances of escaping the mountain and the re education process: three in a thousand. Later, while laboring in a coal mine, the narrator experiences visions... difficulty breathing... [and] fear (30 31). Mao s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For many people they have asked the question what is death to us. Some have stated that it is not something to fear because it is annihilation and no one can experience death. While other people have claimed that death is bad because it takes one from all the good in life. I believe death is something to be feared because it brings many bad experiences to people. First of all some people have determined that death is not something to be fear. One such famous philosopher is Epicurus and he claims that death is not bad. By the time they turn six though, children are expected to do household chores (Kallen 21). On Sunday, I was playing in the yard after church like always with Abigail and Elizabeth, my two closest friends. Abigail was always first to grow cold and beg to go in, which we always complied. • 16. The Political Beliefs Of The Shia And Shia Sunni and Shia are part of the 1.6 billion followers of Muslims across the world. After all, Shia are a minority group that have been recently attacked by Sunnis. Shias are being targeted and killed for their beliefs. Yet, Sunni and Shia have many similar beliefs and customs, but their main difference is based on who should be the political figure. When the Sunni and Shia chose different political figures, they also came upon different ideology. Soon as the prophet Muhammad died in the seventh century, he did not designate a political ruler after his death. Thus, the country was left without an appointed figure leaving the Muslim community without a caliphate. Consequently, the people had to decide who was going to be appointed as the leader of the Muslim community. The Sunni believed that Abu Bakr should be the leader and was given the popularity of the vote, but Shia believed that the family of the prophet should be the leader. Shia argued that only Aliwas qualified to uphold the spiritual values that underpinned the whole future direction of Islam. (Rogerson 5) The disagreement of who should be leader grew to the establishment of Shia, who supported Ali. Shia believed that Ali should have been the first caliphinstead of Abu Bakr being the first. Shia came to the conclusion that Sunni falsified hadith and Abu angered Fatima, in which Fatima was part of Muhammad causing Shia to believe that he does not have right to become first caliph. This is not to say that immigration itself is inherently provocative, but simply that it initiates change to a community. By ( Nations Borders ) In different areas, immigration becomes a huge issue. The community can become really crowded and over time, the population increases by high amounts. People around the community can soon become bothered by all these immigrants and try to take action in to their own hands. For example, the immigrant s neighbors and co workers will try to deport them or take advantage of them. Although economic and demographic realities may support opening doors for immigration, such arguments mean little to voters who feel they are losing out. One poll found that more than 15 percent of Americans say they know someone who has lost a job to an immigrant, or say they have suffered such a loss. Such citizens wonder, Why should I pay the cost of immigration? What about me? according to the ( Why Does ). When more immigrants immigrate to our communities, they begin to annoy people. They could make a negative impact on jobs throughout the country. America is known as the nation of immigrants but its status is being challenged by globalization. This makes make s terrorism and migration much easier. In 2005, the immigration policy received so much attention on Capitol Hill. Members from both sides of Congress are considering what to do ... CFD Via Large Eddy Simulation Case Study In chapter 3, it was shown that CFD via Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence closure is capable of simulating ABL wind characteristics with a better agreement in compare to target theoretical wind profiles for open terrain condition rather than the other turbulence closures of k Оµ and Reynolds Stress Model (RSM). It is because LES uses a spatial filtering operation to separate the larger eddies (which are more anisotropic) and smaller eddies (which are nearly isotropic). However, the prescribed inlet velocity in chapter 3 for CFD model of the open jet facility was a uniform windover the height of test section, and it was the rule of planks arrangement to produce the final target wind profile. Furthermore, in chapter 4, some important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For wind engineering applications and simulation of flow around buildings, the validation can be defined into two main phases, including: (1) wind flow characteristics validation; and, (2) validation of simulated pressures on surfaces of building [99]. In this chapter, the CFD LES is carried out to simulate the inflow turbulence content in such a way to compensate the lack of large eddies in the flow. The generated transient inflow should possess natural wind characteristics with both time (temporal) and space (spatial) correlations. In this chapter, in order to make certain that the developed CFD LES model of a low rise building and the inlet wind velocity fluctuations are in accordance to real world ABL properties, the full scale benchmark data from the Wind Engineering Research Field Laboratory (WERFL) at Texas Tech University (TTU) are used as field recorded wind pressure and velocity data. In addition, wind tunnel measurement from NIST/UWO and open jet testing at LSU are compared with CFD LES results. The effects of correlation of wind loading on the roof of low rise buildings are investigated for each cases as well. Having unlimited information and the power to dole it out as desired is a super power that can be used for good or evil (symbolically speaking LOL!). The act of being an omniscient narratorcan influence the plot and character development as well as the atmospheric tension and emotional impact felt by the reader. When used for good the third person omniscient intrusive narrator can weave their own personality, opinions, and attitudes into the story. An author can engage readers with humor, pathos, irony, etc. This type of narrator is practically the main character as we see everything filtered through their bias and personality. If a reader enjoys the narrators voice, this POV can be an enjoyable read. Two glaring negatives of this viewpoint are that if you don t like the narrator, you probably won t finish the story and when the narrator directly addresses the reader; it can feel old fashioned if not cleverly done. After a successful demonstration of the code, Gates made the decision to leave school and move to Albuquerque and work with MITS on the Altair. Years later Lenin referred to the revolution of 1905 as a dress rehearsal for the October Revolution of 1917. In 1905 tsardom nearly fell. Nicholas II succeeded in remaining in power, stabilizing the situation, only thanks to various concessions. However, his continuing to rule harshly and unwisely brought him to be forced to abdicate in the February of 1917, signing the end of the Russian monarchy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The power still has to be snatched from the hands of the old rulers and handed over to the revolution. That is the fundamental task. A general strike only creates the necessary preconditions; it is quite inadequate for achieving the task itself (Trotsky). The ineffectiveness of the strikes can be found in the fact that in nearly every occasion the soldiers were ordered to shoot on the crowd, stopping the revolts and leaving the tsar as obnoxious to the situation as before. Also the peasants in the countryside suffered land hunger due to the growth of population caused by the decreased of mortality rates. Backwardness was also caused by the open field system , which didn t motivate the peasants to improve their machinery or seeding methods since their land would be taken away from them and redistributed when a member of the community died. Nicholas II was a weak, indecisive and obstinate ruler who, being very conservative and reactionary, used extensively the secret police ( Third Section ) and the army to suppress uprisings and political enemies. He alienated the intelligentsia and angered the liberals with his lack of political participation and exaggerated reliance on the Fundamental laws, which said that the tsar was appointed by god and was rightfully in charge of the country. As a response, the liberals initiated a banquet campaign that started in November 1904, and ended in January 1905 with the aim of making the tsar give ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. AMH 2097 Paper 2 The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The larger the group, the less respect and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in society without disturbing the WASPs at all. The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels. Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated. The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful and smooth immigration into America. Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Several devises have already been developed to track children when they are away from home. These devises work by GPS signal to track the movement of the child and are worn externally or are imbedded in an item of clothing. There are also GPS devices already approved for implantation in humans. VeriChip was the only Food and Drug Administration approved human implantable microchip for use in medical purposes (DHHS pg. 71702 71704). These developments have sparked a debate over whether we should consider implanting microchips in humans for tracking and safety reasons and not just medical purposes. Today there are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In combination with the surgery, the implant represents a permanent intrusion of our privacy. With an implanted microchip, your brain is hotwired into a computer that has a GPS tracking systems to monitor your movements, every minute of every day, for the rest of your life. Just imagine how creepy that really sounds. The concept of privacy for anyone implanted would never exist again. To protect our privacy, we need to better understand its value and the purpose it serves. Privacy is understood as an important barrier that gives us space to develop an identity that is separate from the supervision, assessments, and values of our society. Privacy is crucial for helping us manage all of the pressures that shape the type of person we are in society. Privacy is also used as the groundwork to protect our other fundamental rights. If our right to privacy were compromised then our other rights would soon faultier as well. To implant microchips into human being seems to be a clear case of intrusion of our bodies and our lives. Another reason our government should not allow microchips implanted in humans is that it would serve no real purpose except to track our movements and why should anyone have that much power over any individual. We need to consider the bigger picture as stated in this article: Imagine what the government could do with this kind of technology. If it wanted to, it could use this technology to track literally every movement and behavior of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interventions and Care for Patients Evidence Based Practice Paper Evidence based practice uses current research and clinical judgment to provide interventions and care for patients (Kelly, 2012). It is important for nurses and all healthcare team members to be up to date on current practices so patients can receive evidence based interventions that improve clinical outcomes. According to Kelly (2012), almost half of patients that receive care, receive interventions that are not based on evidence which can ultimately compromise the safety of patients and their health outcomes. Peripheral intravenous therapy (PIV) is a common practice in the acute care setting and evidence based practices have been established to drive appropriate care for this intervention. Almost all patients that are admitted into the acute care setting require peripheral intravenous therapy. PIV therapy is an important factor in the care of patients in the hospital and it is most often used to maintain or correct fluid and electrolyte balances, administer medications, and replace blood or blood products (Ignatavicius and Workman, 2013). PIV therapy is an invasive therapy that requires catheter insertion into the vascular system and access is gained through the patient s skin. Because this is an invasive procedure, patients are at a risk of developing catheter related infections. Catheter related infections are preventable and as nurses it is our responsibility to maintain the PIV site and use the appropriate protocols and interventions to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On September 12th, 2017, I attended a piano concert by Jeffrey Jacobs that consisted of some various 20th century repertoire composed by Ian Dicke, BГ©la Bartok, George Crumb, and Dr. Takuma Itoh. All of these pieces were extremely fascinating to listen to, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The first two pieces on the program, entitled Intermezzo and Soliloquy, were both written by Dr. Itoh. Both works contain contrasting differences in themes, difficulty, and structure. According to Dr. Itoh, Intermezzo was written for a children s piano competition therefore, it wasn t written to be a highly virtuosic work, but a work of simplicity. As I was listening, I thought that it was a very gentle piece that somewhat reminded me of the beginning measures of Debussy s The Snow is Dancing from his suite Children s Corner, in terms of color. In fact, the tranquility and repetitive patterns of Intermezzo reminded me of a gentle, light snowfall with contemplation and reflection taking place. Unlike Intermezzo, Soliloquy sounded more technically complex and virtuosic. However, like Intermezzo, Soliloquy also had repetitive patterns, and recurring themes. To describe Soliloquy, I d say that this piece contains a certain warmth that is complimented by glassy effects. That warmth was where I felt influences of Romantic era music. The next piece, entitled White Parasol, was written by Ian Dicke. Mr. Jacobs mentioned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Waste Land And Recitatif Analysis History and writing between the Civil War up to the present day has drastically changed. Being in a Modern American Literature class, class readings are over the changes in writings, the way dialect or speaking has modernized, and the author s thoughts. Many would think coming into a Modern American Literature class would be more modernized stories and poems. In our syllabus, The Waste Landlacks out of showing direct thoughts, being reliable enough to understand and real modern history. Which, is why I believe The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot should be switched out with Recitatif by Toni Morrison. I will be comparing and contrasting The Waste Land with Toni Morrison s Recitatif on setting, writing skills, and the authors themselves. By comparing both stories, both authors, Morrison and Eliot made sure they explained to us how emotionally available they were to both situations. The Waste Land and Recitatif were both published at a time where humans were truly needing the truth of reality. The Waste Land published after World War 1, in 1915, which was a very unhappy time period for Europeans. The setting was set in London but different areas, yet each speaker was set in a mental setting which made them realize it was a waste land. It is one of the hardest stories that we have read this semester and does not include any historical context, more of an emotional context from different speakers. Thus, the point of the story. There was one accident that involved the safety officer and the cross trainer that was there for the first lab period. Both the cross trainer and the safety officer were near the viscometer as they were both operating it. When the cross trainer finished utilizing the suction bulb, he was instructed by the team leader to begin recoding the density measurements. The cross trainer reached into the water bath picking up a volumetric flask by its cap, this caused the flask to slip from its cap and fall to the table. While this was happening, the safety officer was crouched near the cross trainer with a stopwatch trying to record the liquids efflux time. As the flask was falling the safety officer reached out to catch it and accidently cut his hand when the flask hit the table. Review attached accident report in the appendix for further detail of the accident. During the first lab period, after the accident was cleaned up, we were able to obtain four density and viscosity measurements for both water and propylene glycol at different temperatures. For the pipe flow experiments, we were able to complete eight trials for turbulent flow experiment, twenty trials for the pump performance experiment, and five trials for the laminar experiment. These trial numbers were short of our goal of finishing all of the trials for both turbulent laminar for that day because of the accident ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Maybe you think of a bridge or a road? If you thought of either of those things, you are correct. Furthermore, Civil Engineering is all of these things and a little more. Civil engineeringis arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across (Civil Engineering). Some of the first ever examples of the civil engineering was the roof and the bridge. Eventually, our knowledge and tools advanced to enhance the durability and aestheticism of roads, bridges, and buildings. In addition to roads and bridges, civil engineering also deals with planes, cars, and boats as well. In order to become a civil engineer or any job, for instance, you must study and become a perfectionist in that field. Studying in the school of engineering does not focus on just one subject of study. To put differently, to become a professional in the job of an engineer you must excel in mathematics. These three components are seamlessly integrated and act as a coherent entity to provide essential functionalities in the proposed information management and retrieval framework. More specifically: egin{itemize} item A novel correlation based feature analysis method is presented to derive HCFGs for multimedia semantic retrieval on mobile devices. The proposed framework explores the mutual information from multiple modalities by performing correlation analysis for each feature pair and separating the original feature set into different HCFGs by using the affinity propagation algorithm at the feature level. Then, a novel fusion scheme is proposed to fuse the testing scores from selected HCFGs to obtain optimal performance. Finally, an iPad application is developed based on our proposed system with a user feedback processing system to refine the retrieval results. item A hierarchical disaster image classification scheme based on textual and visual information fusion is proposed for enhancing disaster situation reports with ...
