Importance Of Disabilities In The Film Children Of A...
Disabilities are common throughout the world whether it affects one s ability to walk or talk. Although
one may be born disabled, it ll take time for them to adjust to their surroundings. During their lifetime,
many emotions will be shown through words or actions. Seeing humans maneuver around and
communicate, those with disabilities learn; however, they choose to live how they wish. One may
reach out for assistance, while others will ignore the fact that they need help. However, significant
others or friends may try to change one s ways in helping and assisting them to adjust to the everyday
lifestyle. Furthermore, the film Children of a Lesser God demonstrates how the deaf learn to
communicate with the hearing. James Leed, who is a teacher of deaf students, comes across a deaf co
worker, Sarah who becomes his significant other throughout the movie. Although Sarah is incapable
of speaking, James communicates with her through signing; however, a performance by James s deaf
students occurs that leaves Sarah storming away in frustration. James teaches his deaf students at his
school how to speak and read lips. Although, many can follow his techniques, some cannot. Sarah
who is his deaf co worker, cleans up classrooms and other areas. James gains pride and happiness
when his students learn and perform well. However, Sarah seems to disagree. During the film, there is
a scene where James s deaf students perform on parent and family day. They accomplish a task that

September 11th Attack Case Study
The perception of the intelligence community prior to the September 11th attacks was basically there
was virtually no homeland security intelligence , per se. The intelligence arena almost solely focused
on activity outside the United States in an effort to keep terrorism from entering the borders. The
intelligence and collection that was conducted inside the borders was done from a criminal aspect.
This was executed by law enforcement agencies in an effort to keep criminals off the streets. The
problem with this was there was no focus on terrorism or counterterrorism at this time. During this
time, there was no communication between the actual intelligence agencies and any law enforcement
agencies. There was a number of reasons that these types of agencies did not share the information
they obtained. However, these reasons hindered the information that needed to be put out that enabled
others to execute their jobs correctly. Some have contended that this lack of information sharing
placed barriers to gathering all the information to uncover plots (Best, 2003). There was a ... Show

The deficiency the intelligence community was experiencing in this case was insight. This idea is
created from failing to envision a reoccurrence of like events seen in other locations around the world
could actually happen here (Kamien, Chertoff, 2012). No one in our government nor in security
thought about an aircraft of this size being purposely flew into the Twin Towers. Security and
emergency professionals were a little more understanding of the fact that an attack could happen from
below. The events that unfolded in 1993 gave personnel an advantage over this type on an attack.
However, the idea that a radial attack from the air would or could be a reality to kill thousands of
people and ultimately brings the towers to the ground was not generally

Examples Of Actor Network Theory
The Actor Network Theory (ANT) is a social theory which treats objects as part of the overall social
network. This approach places emphasis on the capacity of nonhuman objects to interact and even
participate in various social networks and systems. The following information will explain Actor
Network Theory, provide examples of how it is believed to work, and explore the relationship this
theory has in regards to power and politics.
The Actor Network Theory Explained
This theory was developed by scholars Bruno Latour and Michel Callon. Sociologist John Law also
contributed to the theory. Humans and nonhumans are obviously not the same, but they can be studied
and observed in similar ways and can both be seen as actors influencing their environment. Anything
that makes a difference in the overall scheme of things can be considered an actor, or an actant. Even
though it is technically called a theory, ANT usually doesn t explain how or even why a network
emerges into the form that it does. Instead, ANT explores the intricate ties in a network. In many ways
it is more of a method than a theory. It describes how activities and habits can sustain themselves
while interacting with one another and working toward a common goal. Although ANT is usually
associated with science and technology, it has expanded into the field of sociology as ... Show more

When it comes to politics and the power associated with it, the first thing that must be noted is that
much more is involved than the people, or in this case, the politicians. Ideas and concepts play a
crucial role in the political process. Therefore, just like the previous example of the hospital, there are
lots of moving parts, hence, actors, involved in politics. There are people, places, and communication
mediums involved. Even getting a message out depends on a channel or venue through which that
message must travel to reach the

Deliberating with the rules given in the inquiries, the entire task worries about the Corporate Social

So the partnership officials are capable of the general public not the entire business. The Corporate
Executive drove the business. They have the principle obligations towards their managers to make the
most benefit by performing best exercises for the business. Then the Corporate Executive, as a man
may have his own social obligation, which implies he doesn t generally need to take after of his
proprietors. On the off chance that the corporative official s moral qualities are not quite the same as
the business, he may consider his own advantage as opposed to for the business. Along these lines, the
stockholders, clients, or representatives ought to have the capacity to pick how they wish to spend
their cash in the business. It is then seen that the corporate official is going about as an open worker,
as opposed to an operators of the partnership. This can prompt a loss of both clients and workers if the
corporate official s activities diminish corporate benefit and the cost of its stock. Friedman accepts, in

Oscar Hammerstein Research Paper
There are many well known lyricists and composers, but none of them have left a mark on the theatre
world like Rodgers and Hammerstein. The duo produced eleven musicals during their partnership and
made an extensive change in musical comedy. They set a new standard that are still followed to this
day in musical history. Before they became the Rodgers and Hammerstein, they were Oscar
Hammerstein II and Richard Rodgers, both of New York City. Oscar Hammerstein II was born on July
12, 1895. He was brought up in a theatrical family. His grandfather, Oscar Hammerstein I, was a
famed opera impresario. His father William managed a vaudeville theater, and Uncle Arthur was a
successful producer of Broadway musicals. While Hammerstein was ... Show more content on

They were seeking to set a system in place that would protect their works and those of others for

more in common than what meets the eye. Therefore this essay compare between these two cities from
different aspects such as location, climate, age, population and history. On one hand Jeddah is situated
on the west coast of Saudi Arabia due to that location which has directly affected the climate to
become high temperature and humid. Jeddah was founded in the middle of 1800s. On the other hand
Beijing is located in the northern china, it has a seasonal climate, in contrast to Jeddah, which is

Timothy Mcveigh Bombing
I learned of what happened to the federal building in Oklahoma City until later that evening of April
19, 1995 from the evening news. It obviously was breaking news all day and it hit home for some
people who knew workers there. The most heartbreaking were the lives of innocent children that were
claimed in the bombing. Timothy McVeigh and his co conspirator Terry Nichols were behind this
treacherous attack in the U.S. On that day, the assault executed 168 individuals, 19 of them kids, and
harmed more than 500. It was the biggest terrorist act at any point transpired on U.S. soil (CNN,
2001).

Timothy McVeigh left a moving truck he had leased before the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in
the downtown area of Oklahoma City. McVeigh intentionally had plans to execute and kill people, the
federal government as the target, by way of a massive bomb. He carried out the plan that rocked the
Oklahoma City and caught the U. S. by surprise, however, which it did not take the FBI long to find
the person behind the act. On April 20, the back hub of the Ryder was found, which produced a
vehicle number that was led FBI to shop in Kansas. Personnel at the shop assisted FBI by rapidly
giving them a composite drawing of the person who leased the van. Specialists revealed the drawing
throughout the town, nevertheless, nearby hotel workers identified the person in the sketched drawing
as Timothy McVeigh. A prompt call to the FBI in West Virginia on April 21 led to a shocking
disclosure: McVeigh was at that point in prison. This was an amazing discovery for the investigators
who classified McVeigh as a suspect responsible for the bombing on the Federal Building and he was
charged.
The same day of the charging of McVeigh with the crime, Terry Nichols, a partner of McVeigh s,
turned himself in to authorities in Kansas. Both men were discovered to be affiliated with a radical
activist survivalist party from in Michigan. They learned about McVeigh s extremist ideologies and his

The Eradication Of Research Misconduct
In our society today there seems to be extensive competition involving research and being the first
group or the first individual to discover valuable information. This leads to a great amount of research
misconduct involving clinical research and deception to the public. This is unacceptable because it
possesses potential to directly affect the general public. Unfortunately there has been monumental
misconduct in clinical research that has directly affected the general population. The eradication of
research misconduct is inevitable unless there is a serious change of policy and how those policies are
enforced. Research misconduct is a problem all around the globe, and there are organizations
everywhere that are attempting to completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plagiarism is actually the most common type of misconduct. We also discussed the potential danger of
research misconduct along with the reasons why researchers chose to partake in research misconduct.
The reasons involved avoiding setbacks and protecting the researcher s credibility, but none of these
reasons seem to be equal to the risk of losing credibility. Scientific fraud seems to be appearing in all
fields ranging from paleontology to nanotechnology. Along with this, certain surveys show that 40
percent of researchers were aware of the misconduct (Gupta 1). There have been numerous attempts to
completely eradicate medical research misconduct but only a few techniques have been proven to be
effective. The most impressive one seems to be the changing of policy. A change of policy on research
misconduct or the introduction of an investigation committee would make it harder for researchers to
fabricate data to avoid setbacks along with making it extremely clear that consequences will be harsh.
There have been an uncountable amount of precautions recorded that were basically an attempt to end
research misconduct, and many of them proved to be effective. This has been a problem that affects a
majority of the globe including Iraq where Shirin Dijalalinia experimented quite a bit with misconduct
policies before she discovered a effective policy. In her article, A Proposed Strategy for Research

Nt1310 Unit 4 Lab Report
Analysis For the first part of the lab, our goal was to calculate the time constant, , of an RC circuit.
We made an RC series circuit and connected it to the Rigol wave generator to produce a square
waveform for current. Then, we collected data of the voltage across the capacitor at different points in
time using a myDAQ and the 4BL application. In order to find the time constant, we linearized the
voltage we measured across the capacitor and then performed a linear regression on the data. The
equation for the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time is: V_c (t)=V_b (1 e^(( t)/RC) )
where V_c (t) is the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time and V_b is the input voltage. We
then linearize the data by manipulating the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at the values for resonance frequency we got from both methods, at first glance it appears
that the second method is more accurate. However, in order to better compare the two methods, we
can calculate the percent error from the theoretical value for the resonant frequency. The formula for
percent error is: percent error=| (experimental value accepted value)/(accepted value) | × 100 We get
that the percent error for method 1 is 19.3% and the percent error for method 2 is 1.2%. This affirms
that the method 2 is the more accurate method to measure the resonant frequency. This may be due to
the fact that method 1 involves using estimations by eye, which allows for human error and inaccurate
estimations. The difference between the experimental and theoretical values for the resonant
frequency could also result from faulty equipment, which may not function as the manufacturer claims
or be worn down by natural decay. Lastly using the theoretical value for the RLC circuit and Equation
2, we calculate a Q factor of Q=0.19. This low Q factor indicates that the peak of the curve is not very
sharp and there could have been overdamping, which potentially increases the error in reading the
resonant frequency, especially for the reading by

Recent developments in the treatment of age related macular degeneration
Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common cause of irreversible blindness in the elderly.
AMD is characterized by the progression from early to intermediate stages of the disease. The two
major advanced forms are the geographic atrophy (GA) AMD and neovascular AMD. GA or dry AMD
is characterized by loss of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells and outer layers of the neurosensory
retina as well as the choriocapillaris. Neovascular or wet AMD is characterized by the formation of
choroidal neovascularization (CNV), the ingrowth of new blood vessels from the choriocapillaris

Anti VEGF therapy must be administered repeatedly, sometimes every month, over a long period of
time. As AMD is a chronic disease, patients need to return regularly for monitoring and treatment
visits. Real life observational studies have shown that this burden, along with adherence aspects, often
leads to undertreatment and subsequent visual loss. Recent studies indicate that, despite optimal
individualized treatment, visual function may slowly deteriorate due to other AMD related disease
processes. Additionally, there is not yet a treatment available to slow progression of the nonexudative
late stage dry manifestation of AMD, i.e., geographic atrophy (GA). One of the challenges in
developing AMD therapies is the lack of good animal models. Mice and rats among other
distinguishing features do not have a macula or a foveola. The neovascular phenotype can be
simulated to some extent by laser induced CNV animal models; however, this wound model has no
aspects of aging changes in outer retinal layers, the RPE, or Bruch s membrane. Animal models for
GA are also limited. Disease modeling could be a

“Transsexual and Transgender Policies in Sport”, Essay
According to Heather Skyes in her article Transsexual and Transgender Policies in Sport , the vast
variety of genders that make up our society today including transsexuals and transgender are still not
accepted into the world of sports due to anxieties from large sporting organizations. In our culture,
there is a binary structure which separates male from female. When a person is transsexual or
transgender, the binary structure becomes challenged. There are so many exceptions to the binary
structure, that it becomes nearly impossible to universalize gender inclusive policies . These
individuals increase the anxieties that Skyes suggests sporting organizations have, because transsexual
and transgender people do not fit the norm. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes to physical activity women are seen as inferior to men. They lack the muscular
physique and the lung capacity that men are naturally born with. Unfortunately, when a woman excels
in sports it is assumed that she has cheated and is questioned about her performance. In Genel s
article, throughout the process of gender testing, a group of women were found to be genetically male.
These women have what is called Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS). Their outer appearance is
that of a woman, but genetically they are made up of 46 XY chromosomes, which marks them
genetically as males. These female athletes are born with relatively rare genetic abnormalities that
affect development of the gonads . they are naturally resistant to the strength promoting qualities of
testosterone. When Skyes suggests that each athlete is unique and their circumstances need to be taken
into consideration, this is one of those many circumstances. A weakness to Skyes article would be the
fact that our society is very judgemental. Sports organizations fear the classification process of
transsexual and transgender athletes into mainstream sporting events. Although most people will say
they are for the equality of others, in reality many people in our society do not approve of transsexual
and transgender people. These non binary athletes may never be fully accepted into mainstream sports
if sporting organizations continue to fret about anxieties these

Nutrition In Teen Pregnancy
Nutrition in Teen Pregnancy I chose the topic Nutrition in Teen Pregnancy because I find teen
pregnancy interesting. I find teen pregnancy interesting because it is something that until recently was
not heard of all the time. Over the past year s teen pregnancy has more or less become a norm around
the world.
When a teenager becomes pregnant most of the time, it is a surprise to them, and they had not planned
to be. The teen then has a big decision to make: keep the baby, give the baby up for adoption or abort
the baby (Planned Parenthood, 2017). If they choose to keep the baby or give the baby up for
adoption, they need to receive prenatal care. In cases where the teen has not planned to become
pregnant, they have not had any care trying to prepare for the baby so nutrition during a pregnancy is
extremely important. Many pregnant teens are willing to change their nutrition to improve the chances
of delivering a healthy child (Montgomery, 2003).
Most teens are aware that nutrition during pregnancy is important. However, these teens do not have
the knowledge of nutrition needed during pregnancy. When a teenager finds out that they are pregnant,
they need to start prenatal care. They first need to go to the doctor to have a check up to make sure
both them, and the baby are healthy (Montgomery, 2003).
Teen pregnancies have many risks compared to adult pregnancies. If a pregnant teen does not receive
prenatal care, the baby is, three times more likely to have a low birth

Essay On Blockchain
3 Background
This section aims to explain blockchain and related technologies that will be used to implement the
provenance solution.
3.1 Blockchain
A blockchain is a data structure that facilitates in the creation of a digital ledger of transactions. It
consists of data sets that are made of a chain of blocks which represent a transaction history. A block
comprises of multiple transactions and are validated cryptographically by the network. In addition,
each block contains a hash value of previous block, a timestamp, and a nonce, which is a random
number for verifying the hash. This design ensures that any change on the block will immediately
change the respective hash value. For a block to be added on the chain, the network through a ... Show

Finally, it s immutable nature, in which a block cannot be changed once added to the ledger ensures

3.2 Ethereum
Ethereum is an open generic blockchain platform developed by the Ethereum Foundation, a Swiss
nonprofit organization [11]. It supports permissionless transactions on both public and private
network, which means anybody is allowed to participate in the network. Ethereum works on the
premise that all participants have to reach a consensus over the order of all transactions that have
taken place and have access to all entries ever recorded. It uses tokens via smart contracts code written
in Solidity and ether as currency. To prevent double spending transactions, it enforces a proof of work
(PoW) by the miners. However, this normally has an effect on its performance [10].
3.3 Radio frequency identification (RFID)
This technology consists of three parts: a reader, antenna, and a tag. The readers has a microprocessor
that is connected to an external computer. A radio frequency antenna is connected to the reader and is
used to transmit wireless radio signals to the tag. This antenna also receives radio signals reflected by
a tag s antenna in response. The tag has an inbuilt antenna which receives radio signals from a reader,
a rectifier which converts the received signal to provide power to the tag and a

Eukaryotic And Prokaryotic Of Cells
There are two major groups that cells can be grouped into to. These are eukaryotic and prokaryotic
cells. All eukaryotic cells contain a plasma membrane, as well as cytoplasm and organelles such as
mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER), Golgi apparatus, smooth ER, ribosomes, a nucleus
which is surrounded by a double membrane known as the nuclear envelope, and secretory vesicles.
There are some eukaryotic cells which contain more organelles as well as theses. Some eukaryotic
cells, specifically in plants, have chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are organelles that contain stacks of
granum known as thylakoid stacks. The granum contains chlorophyll, and the first stage of
photosynthesis occurs here. Some eukaryotic cells contain centrioles, which are strands of protein
involved in the process of mitosis and meiosis. Pant cells have a cell wall made from cellulose. This
prevents the cell from bursting from too much water uptake via osmosis. Fungi do not have
chloroplasts. They do have a cell wall like plant cells, but whereas the cell walls in the plant cells are
made from cellulose, the cell wall in a fungal cell is made from chitin. This is a polymer made from N
acetylglucosamine. Prokaryote is the name of a kingdom for organisms, and all bacteria fall into this

The Payment Of Dividends And The Issue Of Shares
The payment of dividends and the issue of shares in return for capital investment are important aspects
of company law. As such, there are certain requirements that must be met in order for both shares and

statute. The Company s articles operate as contract between the company and its members and outline
the requirements that the directors must follow in order for a transaction to be lawful.

Section 561 determines that existing members must be offered on the same or more favourable terms a

One of the fear factors in the health care reform debate is cost. The United States at present has a
costly system, and there is genuine worry that covering millions of additional people will increase
costs significantly. It is not how much the United States devotes on health care that is vital, it is also
how constant that quantity is increasing. I believe the cause of costly health care is the very beneficial
insurance industry. We pay a massive amounts to these corporate giants, who then regulate
accountable how they will cover us, what treatments and which doctors will help us. Of course they
are not responsible to us, as customers, but only to their shareholders. We argued that although the
health care cost is great; Americans do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also decided not to make any changes in higher education due to the fact that the budget will
slowly decrease as the years pass by. We also made no change in Medicare, but will be advocates for
an increase in the age to 67 years. Another decision was that we would make no change in health
services and research. We also decided to increase Medicaid by 2% which we will acquire from taking
1% away from atomic energy defense activities and another 1% from the federal employee retirement
and disability funds. This will help balance out the increasing budgets. Healthcare is a very
complicated manipulative system. The way to adjust this system is to initiate modification from all
angles, from the bottom to the top. We can take out costs by abridging and regulating so much,
especially in the billing and electronic medical record system. We also have to modify operation
patterns. The United States is not acquiring 20 or even 30 percent better health care or outcomes than
other countries do. While there are points of greatness, particularly at some of America s prominent
academic health foundations and in unified health care strategies, the quality is unequal. And quality is
a problem that affects us all, whether rich or poor. Practically no matter how we calculate it, whether
by life expectancy or by survival for particular diseases like asthma, heart disease or cancers; by the
rate of medical errors; or merely by gratification with health care

What Is Alan Turing s Speech On The 150th Anniversary Of...
In the speech given by Woodrow Wilson on the 150th anniversary of Princeton University, what was
to become the unofficial motto, Princeton in the Nation s Service and in the Service of All Nations,
was first recited. In that address, Wilson concluded that our most important contributions to society s
well being depend on the continued pursuit of fundamental truths and basic research. I believe he was
saying that while it is imperative that we remain aware of the needs and demands of our own circle of
influence and generation, truly meaningful service to society comes through our passion for
knowledge and the desire to advance mankind. Alan Turing who was a 1938 graduate of Princeton
University, Computer Scientist and Cryptanalyst and Father of Artificial Intelligence embodied this
motto. Alan Turing was a mathematical genius and inspirational visionary, famous today for his code
breaking work during World War II that saved the allies from the Nazis. His study of mathematical
logic eventually led to the birth of the field of computer science. Although Alan Turing undeniably
changed the world for the better during a time when the world was at great risk, his academic work
was not purposely responding to concerns of the day. His inspiration was a ... Show more content on

Disadvantages Of Doing Business In Canada
This report is to analyse the advantages and disadvantages of doing business with Canada. One of the
main disadvantages is that the population is shifting into an overpopulated senior population and the
repercussion of this is the difficulties in pleasing the younger and older generations simultaneously.
Canada is filled with rich recourses beneficial for trade and gives us a competitive advantage, items
such as Oil Sands, Oil and gas, lumber, and water. The public infrastructure in Canada is still a work
in progress, but we strongly excels economically and is estimated that it will surpass the United States
in the nearby future; this itself shows the progress that we have overcome over the past few years. The

It s the public infrastructure that includes aspects like roads, water, mains, sewers, bridges that allows
people to live out their daily lives and improves Canada s efficiency. The possibility of having a
successful business in Canadian depends on innovative and efficient infrastructure. Ottawa would be a
main example of lack of instruction in a 1st world city consists of one train system; the O Train (that s
just being made) and bus routes that are satisfactory. Ottawa has begun its renovations for the new
transitways but it will possibly take years to complete the final product. The O train scheduled to
finish in 2018, however the city needs a strategy that connects the main locations using the transitway
otherwise the likely hood of it being done on time will be low. Even though the nation s capital lacks
the public infrastructure, there are many other cities in Canada that has better designed infrastructure
for business such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The future for Ottawa is heading in the
direction of attracting international business given the transitway continues to expand and improve in
its services. Highways in Canada is a large transportation in Canada and states on their website that
there are over 38,000 km of national and regional highways stretching from coast to coast to coast

Menachot 13b Analysis
Bava Metzia 20b, Eruvin 13b, and Menachot 29b are three gemarot we have studied. They are all very
different, but with those differences, there is an underlying connection between them. Bava Metzia,
also known as The Oven of Achnai , is about a rabbi trying to make his case as to why the halakha is
like him. Eruvin 13b, also known as These and These are the Words of the Living G d, discusses the
ways that Beit Hillel is successful and why halacha is in accordance with their opinion. Menachot 29b,
also known as Attaching Crowns to the Letters , tells the story of a conversation between G d and
Moshe about why things are the way they are. The three gemarot surreptitiously coincide, connecting
three separate stories into one enormous concept. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea that connects all three gemarot is how we decide on halacha and whose and which opinions
take precedence and how we decide that. In the first gemara, we learn that G d is irrelevant in making
halachic decisions. We also learn that when deciding upon halacha, we decide based on a majority
opinion. Whichever opinion the majority of people decide on is how halacha will be followed. The
lesson learned in the second gemara is that being humble is a key to being great. Respect is also an
essential part of being favored. Beit Hillel is favored in halachic disputes because of the respect they
showed to their challengers. The third gemara teaches a valuable lesson that we have to understand
that not all questions we have will have an answer. G d s answer to Moshe s question was that he
decided to do it that way. That is part of the halachic reasoning. We don t always have answers to our
questions. These three gemarot are definitely complementary to each other. These three gemarot
suggest that human thinking has had lots of control in halachic reasoning and decision making. G d
created basic laws for us to develop and expand on to live the most moral and ethical Jewish life

Disengagement Theory Essay
In the first part of the assessment I will be explaining two ageing theories that applies to the
individuals in the case study. According to Connie s case study the loss of her husband and handful of
friends wears on her mentality. Also, because of the fall she had in the shower it made her housebound
and unable to go out which she loses contact of her bridge friends. The ageing theory that applies to
her is disengagement theory. This theory means older people withdrawing from social activity. This
could be because they are retired, or due to their health issues and so on. According to Cumming and
Henry, older people will naturally tend to withdraw from social involvement with others as they get
older. For Connie, she was socially active even after she retired. She stayed socially active by playing
bridge with friends and also volunteers in a soup ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The essence of good customer service is forming a relationship with customers a relationship that that

of my watch band together. When I explained the problem, the proprietor said that he thought he
might have one lying around. He found it, attached it to my watch band and charged me nothing!
Where do you think I ll go when I need a new watch band or even a new watch? And how many
people do you think I ve told this story to?
6) Train staff to be always helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable.
Do it yourself or hire someone to train them. Talk to them about good customer service and what it is

power to make those small customer pleasing decisions, so he never has to say, I don t know, but so

7) Take the extra step.
For instance, if someone walks into your store and asks you to help them find something, don t just
say, It s in Aisle 3. Lead the customer to the item. Better yet, wait and see if he has questions about it,
or further needs. Whatever the extra step may be, if you want to provide good customer service, take

Class Size College Essay
Harvard is the oldest college in the United States. It is well established and has produced any number
of notable politicians, public figures, and highly successful business people. Harvard gets around
35,000 applications each year for about 1,600 seats and averages around 10 students per class.
Harvard encourages small class sizes to allow a closer student professor relationship and contributes
to the sense of community on campus. Class size reduction is proven to help students socially and
academically. There is an ongoing debate over the precise point at which students begin to benefit
from smaller classes. Although there are advantages and disadvantages of student achievement in class
size reduction, there can be a compromise by using smaller class sizes for those who show a vaster
need. Student achievement is a measure of the amount of academic content a student learns in a
determined amount of time. Every grade level has learning goals and ... Show more content on

Subsequently, the more teachers needed, the more money that will need to be spent. It required more
buildings to be brought in or built to hold the additional classrooms. The most prominent disadvantage

Although there are advantages and disadvantages in class size reduction to student achievement, there
can be a compromise. Smaller class sizes do not have to be for everyone. It can be left to lower
achieving schools. Beginning teachers can start in smaller classes, and leave the larger classes for the
more experienced. Larger class schools can provide one on one or small group tutoring for those who
need extra help. In kindergarten and first grade establish smaller classes but gradually grow. There is a

My Goals For A Social Worker
I did not always want to be a Social Worker. I wanted to be a psychologist when I graduated high
school. My dreams for my career got put on hold because I became a single mother at a young age.
Raising my child on my own was the hardest and most important thing to me. It was not until the
Department of Children and Families (DCF) came and removed my niece from my sister s home,
when I realized what Social Work was. At that moment, I knew I wanted to help children the same
way the social workers do.
My educational career started when I was laid off from my job 5 years ago. Part of the severance
package that I received made it possible for me to collect unemployment until I finished my degree. I
earned my A.S. degree in Human Services, and am currently working on obtaining my B.S. in Social
Work, all while being a stay at home mom to a teenager. I have made the Dean s List for the past few
semesters and would like the opportunity to help others with all the services that are available for the
clients that are in need.
Social Work, as a profession, is a great fit for me. My interest in social work originates from having
the desire to be able to help children that are abused and neglected to find better homes and safe
environments. Helping foster children find loving families, so they can be loved and happy too. I
enjoy helping and making a difference in the lives of others. I have been so close to being homeless it

Financial forecasting is such an integral part of any successful start up business and there are major

Section 41 Sale Of Immovable Property By An Ostensible Owner
Section 41 Sale of immovable property by an ostensible owner
General rules
There are some very general rules of transfer of property.
i.) Nemo plus juris ad alium transferee potest quam ipsa habet (no man can transfer a right or title
greater than what he himself has).Where a thief sold a property then the same purchaser doesn t hold
the right over the land because from whom they have purchased the land doesn t himself holds title to
the property. ii.) Non dat qui non habet (no one can give who does not possess).
But one of the exceptions to these general rules of transfer of property is when with the consent of the
real owner , a person transfers the property in the name of other where the purchaser has reasonably
ascertained the validity of the title of the land and has purchased it in good faith.
This ground of exception was found in in Ram Coomar v. Mc Queen ,in the following words :
It is a principle of natural equity which must be universally applicable, that where one man allows
another to hold himself out as the owner of an estate and a third person purchases it, for value, from
the apparent owner in the belief that he is the real owner, the man who so allows the other to hold
himself out shall not be permitted to recover upon a secret title, unless he can overthrow that of the
purchaser by showing, either that he had direct notice or something which amounts to constructive
notice, of the real title; or that there existed circumstances which ought to

Social Security provides for the needs of a country s citizens when they are no longer able to provide
for themselves through gainful employment, is an issue that evokes multiple viewpoints. Before laying
the framework of the argument for meaningful change to social security program, the program itself
must be defined. The Social Security Program is based on the premise during your productive working
years you pay a percentage of your income as a tax into the social security system, at some point in the
future either by retirement or disability you or your beneficiaries (dependents, children, or survivors)

The OASI Trustees 2012 report estimates that an additional 1.75% of payroll tax would fund the
current and future generations benefits at the current level (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The report
further states that a reduction in benefits for future generations, not past or current generations must
also come into effect (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The report however highlights that an optional
additional level of pay in should be created, allowing persons of future generations who would like to
maintain the current benefit level to do so (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The final step to making
social security structurally viable is the restructuring of its debt; to past generations by allocating 2%
of current payments towards it exclusively (Gokhale, 2013). With these changes past, current, and
future generations can continue to benefit from social security, while the program stay s true to its core
values of providing persons with the minimum level of income, when they are no longer capable of
working due to their age.
The final structural change that will improve the viability of social security is raising the age
requirement to receive the full benefits of social security. The obvious effects of lifting the age
requirements is the number of payments to individuals is reduced, the number of persons

The Role Of Femme False In Greek Mythology
The myth involving a femme fatale has been prevalent in all cultures. There are several examples of
women who were capable of using their sexuality to lure men to their death. These women were often
portrayed as evil or demonic, some source of danger. Such as Lilith, the Sirens, and the mermaids. The
objective is to identify each goddess, mythical creature, and/or minor deity in all of the mythologies
we have studied that match these criteria. The Egyptian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Germanic, Nordic,
Roman, Egyptian, and Celtic cultures. It appears that almost all if not all of the cultures in the world

United States, Missouri V. Mcneely, 569 U. S
Name and Citation of Case: United States, Missouri v. Mcneely, 569 U. S. (2013) Decision: The
Supreme Court attests. The Court noticed that its point of reference requests a case by case
examination when lower courts figure out if urgent conditions advocated a warrantless pursuit.
However, the State contended that exigency essentially exists in any DWI related blood test given that
blood alcohol content quickly decreases with time, the Court found no argumentation to embrace a per
se rule. The Court concurred that essentially postponing a blood test to get a warrant would adversely
influence the supportive value of the outcomes. However, it contemplated that when the state have
sufficient time to get a warrant, the Fourth Amendment obliges it to do as such. While getting a
warrant is unrealistic, the blood testing may well honor an exigency exception. Since the State
construct its contention exclusively in light of the proposed per se rule, the Court declined to detail the
significant elements courts must weigh while investigating exigency in DWI cases. The State Supreme
Court affirmed, relying on Schmerber v. California, 384 U. S. 757, in which this Court upheld a DWI
suspect s warrantless blood test where the officer might reasonably have believed that he was
confronted with an emergency, in which the delay necessary to obtain a warrant, under the

Contingency Planning
The worldwide outage caused by the electromagnetic pulse due to the solar storm would affect most of
the operations that take place globally (Davis, 2003). Since internationalization entails
interdependence with other countries, it implies that the world will be at a standstill. The economic
processes, social and political activities will stagnate. However, suppose the world becomes aware of
the catastrophe, governments and different social institutions in various countries would employ some
contingencies that will enable them to continue thriving. Various changes will occur in the social life,
and most of them would be inclined to the downside. For instance, the health sector will be at mess
because most hospitals use power in the modern world, leading to the decline in the health services.
The education sector is also not an exception. The digitalization of learning systems in the civilized
society made learning easier. Since the systems use power, education will also be altered. Thus, the
outage will paralyze the learning activities globally. Davis (2003) argues that the worldwide shortage
of power will also cause unemployment to people who work in power driven companies. Since they
operate and rely on electricity and digitalized communication systems, their production processes will
stop, leading to their closure, and cause people to who used to work there lose their jobs.

No matter how you choose to categorize human beings, whether by race or religion, nationality or
gender, the resultant categories will display at least one immutable constant. Each group, no matter
how diverse their beliefs or how dissimilar their behaviors, will contain men of honest and peaceful
natures as well as men of divisive and violent natures. In the film Dances With Wolves, we are
exposed to two distinct categories of people inhabiting post civil war America, the white man and the
Native American. We, most likely, begin the movie with defined ideas as to which group contains

But, compassionate, thinking white men are definitely in the minority in this film.
When John begins his Westward move, the crude, maniacal white man makes his reappearance. The
officer who gives John the information about getting to his new post appears to be downright insane
and apparently kills himself. The guide who accompanies John to his post is also no prize. John refers
to him as the foulest man alive (Dances with Wolves). This constant exposure to the violent and crude
men who make up the white race is an effective first step in shifting our sympathies. We want to
distance ourselves from these shameful characters. We don t want to identify with them.
Our first exposure to Indians is a mere suggestion of the expected stereotype. We are shown a skeleton
on the ground with an arrow stuck through it. So far so good. We are accustomed to that image.
Dunbar s guide states that Indians are nothin but thieves and beggars and that you only want to see
them when they are dead (Dances with Wolves). He, of course, is such an exemplary man that it s not
ironic at all to hear him degrading someone else.
From the beginning of the film we are given hints that Dunbar is not like his fellow ugly Americans.

and uncomfortable and thinks nothing of leaving without accomplishing what he was sent to do.

feels bad for them. Lydia is the typical mom and Elizabeth Banks just seems like the perfect mom for
any show. She has lots of experience playing the role of a mother and has children of her own so this
will be no problem for her.
George Hadley (played by Jason Sudeikis)
George is the dad of Wendy and Peter. He owns a very fancy home and gives his children whatever
they want. He does what he sees as best for his children but he ended up spoiling them rotten. He
doesn t punish his kids much but when he did they started to want to kill him. Although he tried to be
a good dad, he failed and it cost him his life. Jason Sudeikis is good for this part because he looks the
right age to have two ten year old children and he s a very good actor. He has many devoted fans so he

They are both very lazy yet independent ten year olds. Neither of them care for the rules or
punishments their parents set and in the end purposely lead them to their death. Peter is the smarter
one and Wendy kind of just follows him around and doesn t talk much. She seems like his sidekick,

and Oakes is a bit more brunette like Jason. Also they both have blue eyes like Elizabeth does so it s

The Secret Life Of Bees Theme Essay
In the book called The Secret Life of Bee s written by Sue Monk Kidd there are characters such as
Lily, Rosaline, T.Ray, Deborah, August, May, Zach, etc. From the list of characters stated one that I
admire the most and seem to have a lot in common in is Zach. I admire him due to his determination,
his want to be a lawyer, and especially due to the fact that he plays football. Well Zachery Taylor (His
full name) is as determined as they come. Living in a world full of Racist white men with white
privilege breathing down his neck. Zach will just keep on churning through everything. Small
examples of his determination are Law schools being explicit to whites only. Stating his only way of
being educated is unavailable. Some ways he tries to overcome this is communicating with Clayton
Forrest (Lawyer). He ends up learning off Clayton to learn tips and tricks. He uses it as an alternative
to school. Falling in love with Lily also shows another hump in his life that he overcomes with
determination. Knowing it s a white man s world and being caught with Lily will be a serious crime
due to the time. So for that he keeps it lowkey. Everything seems to go good for Zach until he is ...

The percentage of black lawyers at the time is little to nonexistent (I tried to find the percentage but I
couldn t find it) which the black lawyers must ve been extremely well trained to be able to take up the
job. Even today the amount of black lawyers is extremely low so the numbers then must ve been
unimaginable. He plays football so becoming a football player may be easier to become then a lawyer.
They re many jobs he can take up which ll be much easier then becoming a lawyer. He can even get
more into the honey business due to him being involved in it with August. Yet for some reason he
chooses a lawyer. For me a lawyer has always seemed as an opportunity to me so I admire the fact that
he wants

James teaches his deaf students at his school how to speak and read lips. Although, many can follow his techniques, some cannot. Sarah who is his deaf co worker, cleans up classrooms and other areas. James gains pride and happiness when his students learn and perform well. However, Sarah seems to disagree. During the film, there is a scene where James s deaf students perform on parent and family day. They accomplish a task that surprise the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. September 11th Attack Case Study The perception of the intelligence community prior to the September 11th attacks was basically there was virtually no homeland security intelligence , per se. The intelligence arena almost solely focused on activity outside the United States in an effort to keep terrorism from entering the borders. The intelligence and collection that was conducted inside the borders was done from a criminal aspect. This was executed by law enforcement agencies in an effort to keep criminals off the streets. The problem with this was there was no focus on terrorism or counterterrorism at this time. During this time, there was no communication between the actual intelligence agencies and any law enforcement agencies. There was a number of reasons that these types of agencies did not share the information they obtained. However, these reasons hindered the information that needed to be put out that enabled others to execute their jobs correctly. • 4. Examples Of Actor Network Theory The Actor Network Theory (ANT) is a social theory which treats objects as part of the overall social network. This approach places emphasis on the capacity of nonhuman objects to interact and even participate in various social networks and systems. The following information will explain Actor Network Theory, provide examples of how it is believed to work, and explore the relationship this theory has in regards to power and politics. The Actor Network Theory Explained This theory was developed by scholars Bruno Latour and Michel Callon. Sociologist John Law also contributed to the theory. Humans and nonhumans are obviously not the same, but they can be studied and observed in similar ways and can both be seen as actors influencing their environment. Anything that makes a difference in the overall scheme of things can be considered an actor, or an actant. Even though it is technically called a theory, ANT usually doesn t explain how or even why a network emerges into the form that it does. Instead, ANT explores the intricate ties in a network. In many ways it is more of a method than a theory. It describes how activities and habits can sustain themselves while interacting with one another and working toward a common goal. We made an RC series circuit and connected it to the Rigol wave generator to produce a square waveform for current. Then, we collected data of the voltage across the capacitor at different points in time using a myDAQ and the 4BL application. In order to find the time constant, we linearized the voltage we measured across the capacitor and then performed a linear regression on the data. The equation for the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time is: V_c (t)=V_b (1 e^(( t)/RC) ) where V_c (t) is the voltage across the capacitor as a function of time and V_b is the input voltage. We then linearize the data by manipulating the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at the values for resonance frequency we got from both methods, at first glance it appears that the second method is more accurate. However, in order to better compare the two methods, we can calculate the percent error from the theoretical value for the resonant frequency. The formula for percent error is: percent error=| (experimental value accepted value)/(accepted value) | × 100 We get that the percent error for method 1 is 19.3% and the percent error for method 2 is 1.2%. This affirms that the method 2 is the more accurate method to measure the resonant frequency. This may be due to the fact that method 1 involves using estimations by eye, which allows for human error and inaccurate estimations. The difference between the experimental and theoretical values for the resonant frequency could also result from faulty equipment, which may not function as the manufacturer claims or be worn down by natural decay. Lastly using the theoretical value for the RLC circuit and Equation 2, we calculate a Q factor of Q=0.19. This low Q factor indicates that the peak of the curve is not very sharp and there could have been overdamping, which potentially increases the error in reading the resonant frequency, especially for the reading by ... When a teenager becomes pregnant most of the time, it is a surprise to them, and they had not planned to be. The teen then has a big decision to make: keep the baby, give the baby up for adoption or abort the baby (Planned Parenthood, 2017). If they choose to keep the baby or give the baby up for adoption, they need to receive prenatal care. In cases where the teen has not planned to become pregnant, they have not had any care trying to prepare for the baby so nutrition during a pregnancy is extremely important. Many pregnant teens are willing to change their nutrition to improve the chances of delivering a healthy child (Montgomery, 2003). Most teens are aware that nutrition during pregnancy is important. They are all very different, but with those differences, there is an underlying connection between them. Bava Metzia, also known as The Oven of Achnai , is about a rabbi trying to make his case as to why the halakha is like him. Eruvin 13b, also known as These and These are the Words of the Living G d, discusses the ways that Beit Hillel is successful and why halacha is in accordance with their opinion. The idea that connects all three gemarot is how we decide on halacha and whose and which opinions take precedence and how we decide that. In the first gemara, we learn that G d is irrelevant in making halachic decisions. We also learn that when deciding upon halacha, we decide based on a majority opinion. Whichever opinion the majority of people decide on is how halacha will be followed. The lesson learned in the second gemara is that being humble is a key to being great. Respect is also an essential part of being favored. Beit Hillel is favored in halachic disputes because of the respect they showed to their challengers. The third gemara teaches a valuable lesson that we have to understand that not all questions we have will have an answer. G d s answer to Moshe s question was that he decided to do it that way. That is part of the halachic reasoning. We don t always have answers to our questions. These three gemarot are definitely complementary to each other. These three gemarot suggest that human thinking has had lots of control in halachic reasoning and decision making. It was not until the Department of Children and Families (DCF) came and removed my niece from my sister s home, when I realized what Social Work was. At that moment, I knew I wanted to help children the same way the social workers do. My educational career started when I was laid off from my job 5 years ago. The Social Security Program is based on the premise during your productive working years you pay a percentage of your income as a tax into the social security system, at some point in the future either by retirement or disability you or your beneficiaries (dependents, children, or survivors) receive monthly benefits; based on your reported earnings (United States Government, 2014). The report however highlights that an optional additional level of pay in should be created, allowing persons of future generations who would like to maintain the current benefit level to do so (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The final step to making social security structurally viable is the restructuring of its debt; to past generations by allocating 2% of current payments towards it exclusively (Gokhale, 2013). With these changes past, current, and future generations can continue to benefit from social security, while the program stay s true to its core values of providing persons with the minimum level of income, when they are no longer capable of working due to their age. The Court noticed that its point of reference requests a case by case examination when lower courts figure out if urgent conditions advocated a warrantless pursuit. However, the State contended that exigency essentially exists in any DWI related blood test given that blood alcohol content quickly decreases with time, the Court found no argumentation to embrace a per se rule. The Court concurred that essentially postponing a blood test to get a warrant would adversely influence the supportive value of the outcomes. However, it contemplated that when the state have sufficient time to get a warrant, the Fourth Amendment obliges it to do as such. While getting a warrant is unrealistic, the blood testing may well honor an exigency exception. Since the State construct its contention exclusively in light of the proposed per se rule, the Court declined to detail the significant elements courts must weigh while investigating exigency in DWI cases. The State Supreme Court affirmed, relying on Schmerber v. California, 384 U. Contingency Planning And Its Effects On The Environment Koslo Ford Contingency Planning 4 17 16 Contingency Planning The worldwide outage caused by the electromagnetic pulse due to the solar storm would affect most of the operations that take place globally (Davis, 2003). Since internationalization entails interdependence with other countries, it implies that the world will be at a standstill. The economic processes, social and political activities will stagnate. However, suppose the world becomes aware of the catastrophe, governments and different social institutions in various countries would employ some contingencies that will enable them to continue thriving. Various changes will occur in the social life, and most of them would be inclined to the downside. For instance, the health sector will be at mess because most hospitals use power in the modern world, leading to the decline in the health services. The education sector is also not an exception. The digitalization of learning systems in the civilized society made learning easier. Since the systems use power, education will also be altered. Thus, the outage will paralyze the learning activities globally. Davis (2003) argues that the worldwide shortage of power will also cause unemployment to people who work in power driven companies.
