On October 11, 1865, Paul Bogle and a group of free blacks marched into Morant
Bay protesting a local trail, which resulted in a full scale uprising that caused deaths
and destruction. Free blacks had economic troubles and little to power in colonial

This article originated from the author s presentation at the 2010 Cooley Law School
Symposium on the CSI Effect. It reviews the results of two empirical studies of
Michigan jurors in various jurisdictions, which previously concluded that the
prosecutor version of the so called CSI effectcannot be substantiated empirically. The
article then describes merged data from the two studies and the analysis of that
merged data. The data supports the earlier suggestion of a tech effect based on
cultural changes, rather than any direct impact on certain television programs or
genres. It is suggested that while the prosecutor version of the CSI effect is a myth,
there are increased juror expectations that arise from the combination of the tech
effect, the general media portrayal of forensic evidence, and the misperception of
attorneys and judges that the CSI effect does exist. Possible justice system responses
to that combined effect are described, and it is suggested that the legal system must
adapt itself to modern juror expectations rather than blaming jurors for unreasonable
expectations and demands for forensic scienceevidence. Blaming CSI Is Too

Trip to Colorado
My family and I had planned a trip to Denver, Colorado to visit my brother and his
girlfriend. It took months and months to finally have it all planned out, but we
finally figured everything out. We left for the cities on a Wednesday night. We
stayed in a sketchy hotel in the cities by the airport and flew out of Minneapolis
around 5:30 a.m. I was so nervous, as it was my very first plane ride. The plane was
quite small. Our plane was delayed due to them having to deice the plane due to all
the cold. I suddenly started to feel sick, all my nerves had gotten to me so I
reached for the puke bag and puked everywhere! I was so embarrassed, my family
and people around me were laughing so hard at me because I had gotten myself so
worked up. But once the plane started up I felt much better.
As we arrived in Colorado, we went to go get our rental car and then headed to Pikes
Peak as we waited for Jordan and Monet to get off of work. My family had really
struggled to find Pikes Peak, we plugged it into our google maps and it took us to a
campground called Pikes Peak then it took us to a playground that was called Pikes
Peak . We laughed and joked around, since we were getting lost so easily on our first
day there. But finally we found the actual Pikes Peak! We drove all the way to the
top! It was so scary driving to the top, the wind was so strong the higher we got.

Although several hundred colleges experienced teach ins, most campuses were
untouched by this circumstance. Nevertheless, the teach ins had the desired impact
when they contributed to President Johnson s decision to address at Johns Hopkins
University on April 7, 1965 concerning the Vietnam issue (Gaullucci, 47). The
address tried to respond to the teach ins campus protest activity.

In the year 1885 Rudolf Diesel sets up a small shop in Paris to begin developing an
engine that would forever change the way we look at transportation. Rudolf was
trying to design an engine to run off compression ignition to replace the costly steam
locomotive. His research lasted around 13 years before showing a successful test of a
slow burning, efficient, compression ignition engine. diesels had his first running
engine built on February 17,1897 with an efficiency of 26.7% v.s the steam engines
efficiency at 10%.

One pro of diesel engines is also a con. While a diesel engine is an internal
combustion engine it fires off of the heat of the engine. The heat is caused from the
friction inside the cylinders, this causes the engine to have a little less
maintenance and run more efficiently. The con of diesel engines combustion off of
cylinder heat is in northern climates it isn t always warm enough for the engine to
maintain enough heat to run. They solved this problem in the northern climates by
installing glow plugs and block warmers. Glow plugs are used to heat the fuel
before it gets injected into the cylinder helping the motor start because the heat
needed for combustion isn t used to warm the fuel. Block warmers are a small
heater that is placed in a soft plug hole on the side of the engine and helps keep the
coolant warm so that the block stays warm while the truck is sitting for a week or a
few minutes. Cold weather can cause more then just starting issues for diesel
engines it can cause them to just shut off from a lack of fuel, the diesel itself will gel
in cold weather and be like a jello like substance and then needs additives added to
the fuel to be bring it back to its original
