Reflection About Math
Math is the language of the universe. It is used in every subject and understand it is
absolutely imperative. As highschool comes to an end and college is about to start,
math is one of those subjects that can be a pain in the butt to remind yourself how to
do some topics. This project has helped me understand the type of math I will be
exposed to on the placement testand what type of questions to expect. I chose to
complete the Maryland placement test as I have some interest to attend. It has also
exposed me to the college lifestyle a little and got me insight of application and what
courses are required. I have concluded that these tests were a useful tool to measure
my math skills on the colgate level.
These tests were surprising in some aspects and in others very predictable. For one,
I expected them to be much longer and more thorough. I expected their to be open
ended questions and less multiple choice. I was surprised by the simplicity of
some questions, but on contrasty, other questions were more challenging than
what I was anticipating. I was also surprised at the lack of variety in questions.
Much of the questions were the same format just with different number. But for the
most part, I was not too caught off guard by any of the questions, as I had learned
them all in my 4 year years at JCHS. The only things that I must address is
reminding myself on some of the older material that I learned in my freshman and
junior years here. The test was easier than I expected, although it was not easy. I
expected the test to be very complicated and to include difficult questions. Instead,
it had simpler questions but were still a challenge. For example, the concept of a
problem could be fairly easy, but the numbers are hard to work with or had
fractions in them. On this test, calculators were permitted and were a huge help to
me. This tells myself that I need to get better at mental math to save time on tests
and to not rely on calculators so much. Mental math has always been difficult for
me, but mastering it can be greatly beneficial to my math. The test can be taken
online or in person, it is really up to the person. I personally would prefer an in
person test, as I feel writing the problems out with pencil

Over the years, scholars have been debating the validity of using the historical critical
method in Lutheran seminaries, in the context of Scripture interpretation. Some
scholars, who prefer Martin Luther s grammatical critical method, are concerned that
the historical critical method creates an environment of doubt and confusion. I will
evaluate and review two articles that pertain to this subject, The Historical Critical
Method of BibleInterpretation written by Seigert W. Becker and Higher Criticism
and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America written by Richard A. Krause. In
addition, I will analyze Timothy Ward s book Words of Life and Dr. Francis Martin s
contribution to Carl, Scott ed. Verbum Domini and the Complimentarity of Exegesis
and Theology, in order to formulate my theology of Holy Scripture. Although, some
scholars continue to use the historical critical method, other scholars believe that it is

Women in this time period had to go through many travesties, especially African
American women who went through more than anyone else. The role that sexism
played in their lives made it hard for them to be anything more than domestic

I was studying calculus from Math SL text book ( Oxford Publication) , when I was
doing my integration questions in between I saw a paragraph of Gabriel Horn ,
only one paragraph was given . After that it struck in my mind to explore my IA on
this topic. I searched from many resources and try to explore the following. In this I
found major portion of calculus (differentiation and integration) was explained. it is

medicine. At the time of the discovery, war was taking place, which resulted in a
plethora of infected wounds. Antibiotics can be described as a use, laboratory effect,
or an action of a chemical compound (Clardy et al). Selman Waksman first used the
term in 1941 when describing the small molecules made by microorganisms that
prevent the growth of other microorganisms (Clardy et al). Antibiotics helped control

needs. While searching on most databases patrons are allowed to use subject and
keyword searches. Natural language is the language people speak and write (Chu
53). It is language that individuals use on a daily basis as opposed to programmed
language. It is more common for individuals to use search terms of a natural language
to search for items within the database. Chu states, that Natural language allows the
highest degree of specificity and flexibility in representing and retrieving information
(17).
When conducting any type of search ProQuest looks for what you enter in the
search box and will search for any available abstract or full text or all documents in
all selected databases. Whatever search term you type in even if spelled
incorrectly you may ask yourself if the database will be able to still accurately
interpret the intended search term and conduct an effective search if one or more of
the search terms are spelled incorrectly? A test was conducted using the search term
