In the Healthcare Operations Management course we previously finished, it explored the aspects of
the principles of Lean management and quality improvement. This helped me better understand the
relationship of efficient management and success relating to what we are learning about project
management. Managers have noticed the importance to following project management methods to
reduce costs and improve success rates. From observing and navigating through the two websites, I
learned that project management is a complex process and extremely important for success for any
business. One method that sticks out on the success of project management is the Six Sigma method.

Pros and Cons under the 8th Amendment
1.
Introduction
The U.S. Constitutional Rights are laws that guarantee the basic rights for the citizens. There are
twenty seven Constitutional Amendments in total, but 10 of them represent The Bill of Rights. The
Bill of Rights ensures the basic individual protections such as freedom of speech and religion. The Bill
of Rights became part of the Constitution in December 15, 1791 by George Mason.
In my opinion, the 8th amendment is important because this amendment gives people the right against
excessive bail, fines, or cruel and unusual punishment. No citizen of the United States should be
subjected to cruel or insane punishment, and they shouldn t have to pay a bail amount that is too
excessive for the crime. This Amendment was added to the Bill of Rights to ensure greater stability
and was a compromise between the legislature election in the original non party elections and the new
president. The Amendment s Bail Clause is a result of injustices perpetrated in England, were judges
often abused their power in determining whether bail should be allowed to suspects. After a number of
unsuccessful attempts at reforming the law, the English Bill of Rights in 1689 specifically outlawed
excessive bail. The U.S. supreme court s held in 1987 that the eighth Amendment s Bail Clause had
only one meaning that bail conditions, when compared with the magnitude of

The Importance Of Government Surveillance In Our Society
Our society is dystopian in that we are being watched by the government. The governments
surveillance ranges from cameras to electronics to even emails. We are told that this constant
surveillance is for our safety and to make it a safe environment for us because their main reason is to
protect us when in fact it may not be their true intentions. Surveillance has been a problem in our
society because people think that there s too much cameras which it s not necessary. People feel like
they are constantly being watched. This increase in surveillance makes us question if the government
is collecting of information for their own good.
According to Detroit News, on the 23rd of March a 23 year old man named Rudy Carcamo Carranza
was arrested because he was involved in a drunken driving allegations and a hit and run crash and was
also a twice deported worker from El Salvador. Federal investigators used a a device called Stingray
which is designed for counter terrorism but is used hunt undocumented immigrants. Based on Aclu,
Stingrays, also known as cell site simulators or IMSI catchers are invasive cell phone surveillance
devices that mimic cell phone towers and send out signals to trick cell phones in the area into
transmitting their locations and identifying information , the device is an example that at any moment
our cellphones can not only be used for law enforcement agencies to track down undocumented
people but also allows the government to have access to our locations

My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom
For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a physical
court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court rooms and cases
being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were being heard, and I
thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felony cases compared to misdemeanors. My
expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and Order, in which the whole
hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings were far different from what I
expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v. Larry Sanchez was being discussed.
Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a correctional facilities green jumpsuit.
Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after a few minutes I noticed that it was simply
an arraignment in which the judge accepted the defendant s petition for plea bargain. I thought it was
very interesting observing the side of the defendant, since the defense attorneys were public defenders.
Seeing them have a different client every few minutes and having to know everything about their
respective cases was very impressive. Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the
prosecution for every case were two attorneys. Neither of the attorneys seemed to do much beside
state the facts of each case against the defendants. The judge seemed to do a very good job and one

Islamic Law ( Shari A Law
Islamic law ( shari a law ) is an ever evolving and eminently flexible system of religious and legal
reasoning that Muslim jurists have developed and refined over the course of nearly 1400 years. Many
scholars have pointed out that the sharia is not formally a code nor a set of rules. It is a broad
understanding of god s perfect will. Shari a is a principle that govern the behavior of Muslim
individuals and discuss their duties. In order to understand the shari a,, Muslim jurists use fiqh, their
understanding of the god s law, to issue rulings that then scholars consider to be the closest meaning of
the shari a. usul al fiqh which is the process to understand the shari a contains four major bases: The

However, Shia Muslims believe that Sunni collections of hadith are unreliable because they accept the
caliphates Abu Baker, Omar, and Uthman, and they just trust what Imams transmit. Shia Muslims
have four different collections of Hadith al Kafi, Tahdhib al ahkam, Al Istibsar fi ma ikhtalaf min al
akhbar and Man la yahduruh al faqih. Both Sunni and Shia Muslims rely on their collections of hadith
as primary source beside the Quran to understand the Islamic law. However, these two sources do not
address all issues and topics in life. Muslim jurists have developed other methods which use the other
two foundations qiyas and ijma to issue a decision for an issue. Qiya is a principle that use analogical
reasons to judge a new topic based on a similar one from the Quran or Sunna. For example, Islam
prohibit Muslims from drinking wine. Jurists refer to this prohibition using analogical reasons to judge
other intoxicating drinks like beer. If finding a solution to an issue cannot be made by an analogy, then
other categories can be applied to select an acceptable solution. For example, some scholars use
Istihsan which means deciding in favor of the public interest. Scholars efforts to understand and
analyze the bases of shari a to elaborate a law is called Ijtihad, and not everyone is qualified to
interpret the sources. A Muslim jurist had to know the Qur an and the hadith very well, and how to
interpret these sources as well as the

SLU Mission Statement
Narrow hallways walled by human heads and limbs crowding every space between metal bars
surrounded me. Children starved on unpaved streets with only rags that wrapped their bodies. I ended
my high school career by serving a foreign community. In Chinandega, Nicaragua I had the
opportunity to befriend and support the sick, the imprisoned, the orphaned and impoverished. This
experience among others shaped me to appreciate the value of philanthropy and social justice.
Throughout High School, I led multiple philanthropic projects. As president of the Ignite
Organization, I involved students to raise funds for, and volunteer at a pregnancy center. I assembled a
team of volunteers, and initiated fundraisers. This effort transpired over a year and continues to affect
my community. I also developed a supply drive to assist Hurricane Sandy victims through benefit
events. Furthermore, I volunteered at summer camps as well as at my Parish as a counselor.

Differences Of Buddhism And Jainism
Different civilizations have different interpretations of how the world came into existence and these
interpretations normally make up the multitude of religions we have. While most religions share the
same values, such as humility, gratitude, truthfulness, and peacemaking, they do not all agree with the
theological part of religion, such as the creation. There are many different philosophies for this
difference, but it is important to know some of the differences to understand a civilization s culture.
Historical art pieces give a glance of early civilizations beliefs. Asia, including South, Southeast Asia,
and East Asia contained many of the same religions. In Southeast Asia and Japan, Jainism, Hinduism,
and Buddhism were the most common religious affiliations during the Vedic and Maurya periods.
Jainism and Buddhism have similar beliefs about how the world was created. They both don t believe
in a creation story or a Christian God like figure. There is simply no beginning of the world in their
minds. Jainism doesn t believe in Gods; therefore, there isn t anyone responsible for creation. They
have a leader named Vardhamana. They find it more realistic to say that the world has always existed
and has undergone changes as time progresses. However, these changes are due to nature itself and no
higher being (Volatti). Buddhism has similar thoughts about the origin of the world; however
Buddhism does believe in Buddha as a God like figure. Bertrand Russell explains

New England Vs Chesapeake Essay
A Comparison of the New England and Chesapeake Bay Regions
Amid the 1700 s, individuals in the American provinces lived in exceptionally unmistakable social
orders. While a few homesteaders drove hard lives, others were solid and prosperous. The two
gatherings who demonstrated these distinctions were the pilgrims of the New England and
Chesapeake Bay zones. The separating qualities among the Chesapeake and New England settlements
created because of economy, religion, and thought processes in frontier extension. The pilgrims of the
New England territory had an exceptionally glad and sound life. This high method for living was

The populace of the Chesapeake Bay area confronted intestinal sickness, typhoid, and looseness of the
bowels. Thus, almost 50% of the populace did not live to see their twentieth birthday, and even less
lived to age into their forties. The pilgrims of the Chesapeake Bay were generally male, with a
proportion of six guys to one female. Men needed to contend with each other for ladies. Families were
both few and powerless in the Chesapeake Bay environment. Barely any youngsters came to
adulthood with simply the consideration of their two folks and nobody knew a grandparent. The
definite inverse happened in the New England range as in the Chesapeake region. In New England,
hopeful atmospheres, clean water, and pipes helped keep the spread of illness. Accordingly, it was not
bizarre for New Englanders to live to the age of seventy. The pioneers who came to New England
moved to the New World with their families, permitting the family to stay in politeness and remain the
focal point of New England life. The ways of life of the two districts contrasted monstrously. Life in

Artificial Intelligence And Science For Knowledge
Engineering is a study of mathematics and science for knowledge on how to improve man kind.
Artificial Intelligence is a substructure of Engineering where it takes that knowledge of the engineers
to improve the training thought of a device with less human interaction. Software, Mechanical, and
Robotics, to name a few,are areas where Artificial Intelligence is being used. The way artificial
Intelligence has evolved through the years, it has even been able to challenge humans into improving
much greater ideas. The term artificial intelligence is also used to describe a property of machines or
programs, the intelligence that the system demonstrates (Brynjolfsson). In Engineering, there are 5
main concepts and methods of Artificial Intelligence which are: Knowledge based systems, Neural
networks, Genetic algorithms, Fuzzy logic, and Intelligent agents. In Knowledge based systems, in
order to solve a problem, the problem solver must have a substantial amount of knowledge prior to the
problem (Rzevski 6). In the article Artificial Intelligence in Engineering: Past, Present, and Future by
George Rzevski, Feignbaum states that the performance of this system relies on the amount of
information stored. In Neural networks, they allow researchers to learn from examples, store
information that s organized well, and recognize partially specified patterns in engineering
applications. As a result, problems could be solved through pattern recognition. In Genetic algorithms,
they are

The Cultural Differences Of Athens And Sparta
Unlike many other ancient civilizations of the Near East, Greek history has a start like no other. The
Greek civilization was based upon city states, two in particular; Athens and Sparta. These two
dominants in Greek history differ from any other near east society because of their historical
background, geographical region and the cultural differences they display. The Athenian city state was
an open democratic maritime state, dominating Attica and supporting commercial and cultural
expansion. The Spartan city state had a tightly organized, militaristic, land based state, dominating the
peloponnesian peninsula. The Near east was a simple time to be alive, they had a small population and
little revolutionary advancements recorded. Early Civilization brought strangers together and
separated classes of people living side by side into distinct semi autonomous groupings (Sherman,
McNeill 17) unlike the civilization of the greek society. Athens was dominant toward the end of the
5th century. It was located in Attica. This location was a major difference from the societies of the
near east because they had no major rivers to get fresh water from and had no mountain ranges for
protection. This was a defence that many near east civilizations were built upon. Due to the lack of

fat will always hold us back. But does it have to be? Sure you could try some crazy diet that makes
you eat like a rabbit and you can not even enjoy what you are eating. You have to enjoy what you are
doing in order to stick with it. Over the years of finding the magical cure on shredding body fat, I have
realized that it is not as hard as you think it is. We just make it extremely hard! Summer is coming
upon us and now is the time to try out some simple tips for shredding body fat. 5 Tips on Shredding
Body Fat If you hate running around in circles, make it fun!! This has always been a trend for me. I
used to hate doing cardio, running for long periods of time have never been amusing for me. I would
run for a month and then not run for 6 months. What makes cardio not fun for people is they either are
impatient about getting in shape or they just go too hard too fast. Starting out slow and building up
more and more every week or so really helped me enjoy doing cardio. Mixing up your cardio routine
is also a must when trying to build muscle and shred fat. People tend to think that more is better such
as you need to run miles upon miles every day. When you are incorporating HIIT (High Intensity
Interval Training) is designed to help keep your metabolism burning fat for you hours after working
out. A great way you can do HIIT is performing 8 10 x :20/:10 Tabata runs.

The Role of Malvolio in Twelfth Night Essay
The Role of Malvolio in Twelfth Night
The main storyline in Twelfth Night is love between Cesario, Orsino, Olivia and later on in the play
Sebastian. Malvolio s part in the play is a backdrop situation separate from the main story. He brings a
level of both humour and sympathy to the play. Malvolio is one of the main sources of humour in
Twelfth Night. In the later part of the play a different side of him is exposed.
Malvolio is Olivia s steward and his job is to manage Olivia s house; he is her chief servant. It s a very

Twelfth Night is referring to the twelfth night after Christmas, Epiphany. Today, the Twelfth Night
after Christmas means the day we take down the decorations, but back in 1600 when the play was
written it had a different meaning. Epiphany was a time for celebrating and partying. People used to
have parties on Twelfth Night and it was traditional to play practical jokes at this time. These included
tricks such as hiding live birds in an empty pie case, so that they flew away when the startled guests
cut open the crusts. It was a mad time full of pranks and confusion, just as in the play. This name,
Twelfth Night , therefore seems appropriate for this play due to all the confusion and the banter that
goes on in the confusing storyline.
In Twelfth Night we see different types of humour. There is the word play, the vulgar humour of Sir
Toby, stupidity of Sir Andrew, Malvolio s foolishness , and the general confusion caused by Viola s
disguise.
Shakespeare used dirty and witty humour in most of his plays but it is perhaps most obvious in
Twelfth Night. He used different types of humour to please all of the people who flocked to see his
plays. There was always an array of people, and they all needed to be kept interested. There were the
peasants that he could entertain with the dirty jokes and humour. An example of this is this is my lady

Ethephon, which I have heard can be found in a variety of commercial herbicides. Me: Ethephon

is no compact vegetation on this farm, the chances of a larger runoff are higher. Pesticides and other

Eros Creation Story
Before everything, there was nothing. It was nothing, yet it was something. A void filled of colour
unimaginable, and smoky mists. This void was called Chaos.
As empty as the Chaos was, it was unexpectedly still inhabited. Inhabited by creatures with an entire
body as bright as snow, and horns that twisted and curled into elegant spirals. They had nimble legs as
long as evergreen trees, and hooves as reflective as silver. These creatures had no name, and not a
single soul is quite sure where they came from. These mystical creatures seemed to have only one
purpose, which was walking. Every second of their lives, they grazed in herds across the Chaos in
straight lines, with no plain goal in sight.

Pine Island Glacier is the Largest Sheet of Ice on Earch
Pine island Glacier is an enormous stream of ice flowing west northwest along the south of Hudson
mountains into the Amundsen Sea in Antarctica. This ice sheet is the largest chunk of ice on planet
Earth having a volume of a water equivalent to 57m of the global sea level. Hence, this basin has the
largest net contribution of ice to the sea in the world. In the past few decades, the pine island glacier
has been melting at an irreversible rate. Studies show that the ground line of the glacier has retreated
10 kilometres and is in the process of touching a 40 kilometre retreat. The glacier has been losing
approximately 20 billion tons of ice each year for the past quarter of the century and is estimated to
lose four times the ice in the coming quarter.
As said by a glaciologist with France s Grenoble Alps University, Gael Durand, the glacier has started
a phase of self sustained retreat and will continue its decline. The loss of ice from the glacier at this
rate would cause disasters and hence is the latest issue of climatic concern.
It has played a significant role in the rise of the global sea level. It is predicted that at this rate, the
glacier will alone increase the sea level by another centimetre in the next 20 years. The thinning of the
ice in West Antarctica contributes to 10% of the rise in the sea level today. The most recent
acceleration has been monotonic. The warm water flows above the marine ridge which results in
melting of the thick ice which comes out of

Mobile Phone Exposure And Carcinogenesis Essay
Mobile phone exposure and carcinogenesis
Brain cancer is the most frightening hazard of mobile phone use. The International Agency for
Research on Cancer (IARC) classified RF fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans, in 2002 in spite
of limited evidence from human and animal studies (IARC, 2002).
The relation between mobile phone radiation exposure and cancer are justified. Muscat et al. (2000)
showed that a relationship exists between mobile phone use and meningioma or glioma. A meta
analysis conducted by Swedish researchers and published in the International Journal of Oncology,
pointed out to a significant correlation between long term use of mobile phones and brain tumors
(Hardell et al. 2011). They found that both malignant and benign tumors were linked to the chronic
exposure to cell phone radiation and suggested that mobile phones were not safe for long term use.
In 2011, after taking the opinions of 30 experts from 14 countries, the World Health Organization
(WHO) categorized mobile phone radiation as a potential Group 2B carcinogen and officially advised
consumers to limit their use (IARC, 2011; Baan et al., 2011). This suggests that mobile phone
radiation may have a carcinogenic effect. Recently, Howlader et al. (2013) reported that mobile phone
use raises the risk of brain cancer. Several possible pathways of carcinogenesis have been suggested.
As we have discussed, the plasma membrane may be a target of RF EMW. RF EMW may act on

Genetically Modified Organisms Essay
Many people today are often amazed by the amount of nutrition and health information required for
humans. The constant stream of genetic modification of food can be confusing. Genetically modified
(GM) foods are plants and animals that have had their genetic makeup artificially altered by scientists
to make them grow faster, taste better, last longer and to provide more nutrients. Scientists make these
alternations by transferring genes from one organism into another in order to change the condition or
character of the receiving organism. This process is known as biotechnology or genetic engineering
(GE), and it has revolutionized the way that agriculture is practiced in many parts of the world.
Researchers are now able to use GE ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Companies and researchers alternate the genetic structure of crops to withstand pesticides, non GM
weeds and insects can gradually develop a resistance to the chemicals. At this point farmers actually
have to increase their use of pesticides. These practice causes weed populations to adapt to the
herbicide and eventually become resistant to it. Once these superweeds emerge farmers must find a
new herbicides and more potent products.
People who support GM foods dismiss complaints that they might not be safe to eat. GM foods are
likely to be more nutritious and contain smaller amounts of pesticide residues that foods raised by
traditional farming methods. Food poisoning agents such as salmonella are natural and they kill
thousands of people each year. Lots of plants produce powerful toxins to deter pests. With the
technology of GM Crops including beans and cassava (a fruit grown in tropical countries) produce
cyanide that can be removed before cooking. This is extremely useful for consumers to eat and for
producers to make.
In the other hand GM critics worry that transgenic crops could harm wildlife and cause lasting damage
to fragile food chains. What will happen if GM farming practices wipe out weedy plants that some
bird s species rely on for survival? Or if insects that are important

The schools did not teach what being gay meant, I just knew I felt different. I grew up in a deeply

My senior year of high school I lost weight, starting wearing contacts and played on the girls

Unfortunately, migraine is also very common in children. It has been reported in children as young as
18 months old. About 10% of school age children suffer from migraine. Half of all migraine sufferers
have their first attack before the age of 12. Before puberty, boys suffer from migraine more often than
girls. As adolescence approaches, the incidence increases more rapidly in girls than in boys.
Migraine often goes undiagnosed in children and adolescents. In childhood migraine, head pain is
often less dramatic or severe than other symptoms, such as unexplained nausea or vomiting,
abdominal pain, or dizziness. Moreover, it is not uncommon for attacks to occur with only minor or
even no head pain, making it hard to diagnose. Motion sickness is an early warning of the
predisposition to childhood migraine. In childhood, the non headache symptoms are often referred to
as migraine equivalents.
While symptoms of childhood and adolescent migraine may be different from those typically found in
adults, children are just as disabled. Children who suffer from migraine are absent an average of 7.8
days from school each year, compared to 3.7 days of absence for children without migraine. Treatment
for childhood and adolescent migraine depends on the age of the child and the frequency and severity
of the attacks. Although there are well over 100 drugs used to prevent or treat migraine symptoms,
none have been approved for use in

Osseous Tissue Research Paper
Osseous tissue provides essential functions in the body. It protects our vital organs and the bone
marrow within this tissue provides our bodies with blood cell production needed to support our other
internal organs. Ligaments connect our bones together by joints to allow for our bodies flexibility. In
essence, if we didn t have bones, we wouldn t have the proper blood cell production to support our
other organs. Without bones we wouldn t have the proper protection against damage to our internal
organs. without bones we wouldn t have the muscles and ligaments to allow us to have flexibility. In

Modern America s Foundation Consists Of Equality And...
Modern America s foundation consists of equality and their values against discrimination. However,
during the 1900 s equality was not as easy as it is today due to factors such as individuals viewing
themselves as superior to others. According to the Anti Defamation League (ADL), this is the
mentality known as racism. It s defined as the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to
another, that a person s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological
characteristics... (ADL). The persistence in the 1900 s of White Americans to hinder blacks from
reaching their true equality was dominant in communities, specifically in the Southern States of the
United States. The perception of race by the society and its citizens affected the lives of blacks, from
how they felt, to the nature and the extent in which they participated in social life. By looking at the
film entitled The Great Debaters, we can see that in order to persuade someone to do something, it is
beneficial to create a sense of responsibility; this works because, making actions seem personally
relevant is more effective than a generic response.
Lloyd Bitzer employs that when trying to advocate for change individuals must illustrate a reality that
will enable action. Individuals are often persuaded through measures that provoke a reaction and an
urgency for change in a given situation. Bitzer discusses that a situation, specifically a rhetorical
situation, comes into existence as

Albert Camus Suffering
In Albert Camus The Stranger, the novel centers around the life of Meursault, a French Algerian, who
begins the novel attending his mother s funeral. Meursault does not express grief over his mother s
death, and treats the day after the funeral as just another day with no nostalgia for what came before.
As the novel progresses, Meursault continuously shows this lack of emotion and connection to others
in his life, making him a stranger to not only the reader but other characters in the story. When
Meursault befriends a neighbor of his, Raymond, and helps him with his cheating Arab girlfriend, he
unknowingly gets sucked into a conflict that will affect the rest of his life. A victim of circumstance
and choice, Meursault commits a murder, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Stranger acknowledges a different approach to life and reality, one with certainty and emphasis on
the individual. In Melissa Payne s Discussion of the Absurd in Albert Camus Novels, Essays and
Journals, she describes that Camus desires that man reads this novel and becomes disorientated and
divorced from any reality of which he knows. He must recognize that reality means that life exists and
death is approaching; Camus believes that these are the only truths, and abstractions no longer exist
(Payne 15). In the novel, Meursault knows that his death is approaching in the form of his execution
for the murder of the Arab. His crisis arises while questioning his past actions, an exercise out of
character with his belief that life is only about present choices and the dawn of the next day. Meursault
does not seek to absolve himself by turning to God or asking for forgiveness, but instead, accepts the
life he has chosen, freed by the certainty that death was inevitable one way or

The Role Of Sex Work And Sex Trafficking
Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons, is a crime where people profit from the exploitation of
others through some form of labor (Polaris, 2015). Sex trafficking, is a crime throughout the world,
and the United States is no exception. Taking a domestic approach to study gender and sex trafficking,
or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how people do gender while being a part
of this industry. Examining the structure of gender in society with regard to sex work and sex
trafficking sheds light on how the system works and how it is perpetuated.
To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex
trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber, 1994;
Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are commonly
trafficked for domestic service and sex industries. Sex trafficking is beneficial because it s very
profitable and is occurring around the globe. The industrialization of the sex trafficking and its
globalization are fundamental factors that make contemporary prostitution qualitatively different from
the prostitution of yesterday. Consumers in the economic North now have access to young and exotic
girls, very young bodies around the world. These beautiful young ladies come from countries like,
Brazil, Cuba, Russia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Vietnam, Nicaragua. The sex industry is

Vehicle Pollution And Vehicle Pollution
If we have a look at traffic today, we see more and more cars that are powered by electricity instead of
the ecologically harmful fuel most cars used to drag their power from. Although the first electric car
was invented by the Scottish inventor Robert Anderson between 1832 and 1839, a crude electric
carriage powered by non rechargeable primary cells, between now and then the majority of cars we
found on the streets were powered by fuel. But still, although more than 2 million electric vehicles
now travel the world s roads, they only make up 0.2 percent of the total light duty passenger vehicle
share around the world. And still, this is a major step in the right direction. In 2016, the number of
electric cars increased by 60 percent, and in 2015 by 77 percent. Electric cars sure are in the
ascendant, just why is that a good thing? The answer is quite simple and everywhere known; vehicle
pollution. And because this vehicle pollution is a major problem for us and our environment, the
negative externalities of this vehicle pollution are going to be analyzed and advice on how to solve or
better, get rid of the problem, is going to be offered.
To start off, here is a short definition of what exactly negative externalities are. They are costs that are
suffered by a third party. These costs are also called the social welfare loss. Producer and consumer
are the first and second parties, third parties on the other hand are individual people other than

The Greenby Mental Health Center funding has been cut back. The cut back in funding has caused the
organization to look at possibly doing away with their consultation and education department. This
paper will describe at least one process evaluation measure and at least one outcome evaluation
measure that could be suggested for the Consultation and Education Department at Greenby

(Reh, 2011) Cost/benefit analysis is a possible suggestion because the Consultation and Education
Department director can argue that the benefit of the program far outweighs the cost of the program.
The Consultation and Education department draw clients in and a large majority of these clients go on
to participate in the larger, more funding drawing, programs. So if the department is done away with,
client numbers may decrease and other programs may suffer. Outcomes evaluation is often described
first by looking at its basic components. Outcomes evaluation looks at programs as systems that have
inputs, activities/processes, outputs and outcomes this system s view is useful in examining any
program! * Inputs
These are materials and resources that the program uses in its activities, or processes, to serve clients,
equipment, staff, volunteers, facilities, money, etc. These are often easy to identify and many of the
inputs seem common to many organizations and programs. * Activities
These are the activities, or processes, that the program undertakes with/to the client in order to meet
the clients needs, for example, teaching, counseling, sheltering, feeding, clothing, etc. Note that when
identifying the activities in a program, the focus is still pretty much on the organization or program
itself, and still is not so much on actual changes

The Pros And Cons Of Abusive Relationship
What it really means to be in an abusive relationship
Society is very familiar with the terms physical and emotional abuse, whether it is personal or a term
heard in passing. The majority of people want a happy, beneficial relationship not one that is going to
cause more harm than good, yet so many people find themselves in harmful relationships. Why?
People do not just find themselves in repressive relationships, there are many factors in one s life that
contribute to the reasons one may find themselves victims in repressive relationships. When people
think of tyranny what first comes to mind is some of the world s darkest events and the tyrants
responsible for them. More often than not, tyrants are at the forefront to blame for the suffering and
death of so many innocent people. Some historical tyrants that come into mind include Adolf Hitler
and a person he worked closely with, Benito Mussolini. Hitler ruled Germany with absolute authority
in the years leading up to world war two, took advantage of the German people s suffering in the wake
of world war one. He was able to manipulate the German people transforming himself a symbol of
hope at the time, offering the German people a way out of the crippling poverty the country was
stricken with as a result of the loss of world war one. By 1998 Hitler has established a strong support
system and threatened to invade Austria (tyranny citation pg 18). Austria allowed the invasion to
transpire with no objections to the Nazi

Social And Natural Resource Issues
For this week s forum, I hold the view of a normative pluralistic which relates the environmental and
natural resource issue of irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a healthy planet.
Normative pluralism is considered not to be as radical as the belief of a fundamentalist pluralist.
Formally, a normative pluralist assumes that there is a plurality of bearers of value (Stanford
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2011). The irreversible changes caused by negative consequences for a
healthy planet can be associated will the failure to widely produce agreements globally to tackle
environmental and natural resource issues. In the article, Global Green Pluralism, pluralistic values
discussed that support my argument are comprised of the division of labor amongst governments and
nongovernmental actors to govern the environment.
Some of the values that play a key role in the overall support the creation of an effective
environmental and/or natural resource policy to preserve the environment consist of actors/governance
components, agenda setting, networks, negotiation, compliance, implementation, and resilience. A
brief detailed description of each value is listed below.
Actors and governance components include public, private, and a civil society that engage in the
authority of regulating factors that impact the environment based on their relationships. In various
ways they are able to fulfill a host of governance over activities across their components. These

Battle Of Vietnam Essay
The Vietnam war began in 1954 through the region which goes back several decades. The vietnam
war was a long, arduous war between North Vietnam and South vietnam, as well as south vietnam s
main ally, the united states. At the time, North vietnam held a communist government. The war began
in 1954 through an ongoing conflict between Russia and America. Going back to WWII, japanese
forces invaded vietnam to fight off japanese occupiers and the french. At the time, the political leader
Ho Chi Minh, who was a communist, formed what is called the Viet Minh, which is the league for
independence for vietnam. Than, after WWII, Japan withdrew its forces from Vietnam, leaving
emperor Bao Dai in total control. Seeing this as an opportunity, he made the Viet Minh forces rise up,
taking control of the northern city of Hanoi and declaring it a democratic republic with himself as
president. Both communist North and neutral South Vietnam simply wanted Vietnam to be unified as
one again. This was quickly shut down as Ho and his supporters wanted a communist nation so Bao

  • 2. Symcor In the Healthcare Operations Management course we previously finished, it explored the aspects of the principles of Lean management and quality improvement. This helped me better understand the relationship of efficient management and success relating to what we are learning about project management. Managers have noticed the importance to following project management methods to reduce costs and improve success rates. From observing and navigating through the two websites, I learned that project management is a complex process and extremely important for success for any business. One method that sticks out on the success of project management is the Six Sigma method. The use of the Six Sigma approach is widely used to improve quality and many ... • 3. Pros And Cons Under The 8th Amendment Essay Ismael Bernal Ms. Moreh Contemporary Composition, Period 4 6, May 2016 Pros and Cons under the 8th Amendment 1. Introduction The U.S. Constitutional Rights are laws that guarantee the basic rights for the citizens. There are twenty seven Constitutional Amendments in total, but 10 of them represent The Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights ensures the basic individual protections such as freedom of speech and religion. The Bill of Rights became part of the Constitution in December 15, 1791 by George Mason. In my opinion, the 8th amendment is important because this amendment gives people the right against excessive bail, fines, or cruel and unusual punishment. No citizen of the United States should be subjected to cruel or insane punishment, and they shouldn t have to pay a bail amount that is too excessive for the crime. This Amendment was added to the Bill of Rights to ensure greater stability and was a compromise between the legislature election in the original non party elections and the new president. The Amendment s Bail Clause is a result of injustices perpetrated in England, were judges often abused their power in determining whether bail should be allowed to suspects. After a number of unsuccessful attempts at reforming the law, the English Bill of Rights in 1689 specifically outlawed excessive bail. The U.S. supreme court s held in 1987 that the eighth Amendment s Bail Clause had only one meaning that bail conditions, when compared with the magnitude of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Government Surveillance In Our Society Our society is dystopian in that we are being watched by the government. The governments surveillance ranges from cameras to electronics to even emails. We are told that this constant surveillance is for our safety and to make it a safe environment for us because their main reason is to protect us when in fact it may not be their true intentions. Surveillance has been a problem in our society because people think that there s too much cameras which it s not necessary. People feel like they are constantly being watched. This increase in surveillance makes us question if the government is collecting of information for their own good. According to Detroit News, on the 23rd of March a 23 year old man named Rudy Carcamo Carranza was arrested because he was involved in a drunken driving allegations and a hit and run crash and was also a twice deported worker from El Salvador. Federal investigators used a a device called Stingray which is designed for counter terrorism but is used hunt undocumented immigrants. Based on Aclu, Stingrays, also known as cell site simulators or IMSI catchers are invasive cell phone surveillance devices that mimic cell phone towers and send out signals to trick cell phones in the area into transmitting their locations and identifying information , the device is an example that at any moment our cellphones can not only be used for law enforcement agencies to track down undocumented people but also allows the government to have access to our locations ... • 5. My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a physical court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court rooms and cases being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were being heard, and I thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felony cases compared to misdemeanors. My expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and Order, in which the whole hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings were far different from what I expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v. Larry Sanchez was being discussed. Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a correctional facilities green jumpsuit. Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after a few minutes I noticed that it was simply an arraignment in which the judge accepted the defendant s petition for plea bargain. I thought it was very interesting observing the side of the defendant, since the defense attorneys were public defenders. Seeing them have a different client every few minutes and having to know everything about their respective cases was very impressive. Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the prosecution for every case were two attorneys. Neither of the attorneys seemed to do much beside state the facts of each case against the defendants. The judge seemed to do a very good job and one quote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Islamic Law ( Shari A Law Islamic law ( shari a law ) is an ever evolving and eminently flexible system of religious and legal reasoning that Muslim jurists have developed and refined over the course of nearly 1400 years. Many scholars have pointed out that the sharia is not formally a code nor a set of rules. It is a broad understanding of god s perfect will. Shari a is a principle that govern the behavior of Muslim individuals and discuss their duties. In order to understand the shari a,, Muslim jurists use fiqh, their understanding of the god s law, to issue rulings that then scholars consider to be the closest meaning of the shari a. usul al fiqh which is the process to understand the shari a contains four major bases: The Quran, which Muslims believe to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Shia Muslims believe that Sunni collections of hadith are unreliable because they accept the caliphates Abu Baker, Omar, and Uthman, and they just trust what Imams transmit. Shia Muslims have four different collections of Hadith al Kafi, Tahdhib al ahkam, Al Istibsar fi ma ikhtalaf min al akhbar and Man la yahduruh al faqih. Both Sunni and Shia Muslims rely on their collections of hadith as primary source beside the Quran to understand the Islamic law. However, these two sources do not address all issues and topics in life. Muslim jurists have developed other methods which use the other two foundations qiyas and ijma to issue a decision for an issue. Qiya is a principle that use analogical reasons to judge a new topic based on a similar one from the Quran or Sunna. For example, Islam prohibit Muslims from drinking wine. Jurists refer to this prohibition using analogical reasons to judge other intoxicating drinks like beer. If finding a solution to an issue cannot be made by an analogy, then other categories can be applied to select an acceptable solution. For example, some scholars use Istihsan which means deciding in favor of the public interest. Scholars efforts to understand and analyze the bases of shari a to elaborate a law is called Ijtihad, and not everyone is qualified to interpret the sources. A Muslim jurist had to know the Qur an and the hadith very well, and how to interpret these sources as well as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Differences Of Buddhism And Jainism Different civilizations have different interpretations of how the world came into existence and these interpretations normally make up the multitude of religions we have. While most religions share the same values, such as humility, gratitude, truthfulness, and peacemaking, they do not all agree with the theological part of religion, such as the creation. There are many different philosophies for this difference, but it is important to know some of the differences to understand a civilization s culture. Historical art pieces give a glance of early civilizations beliefs. Asia, including South, Southeast Asia, and East Asia contained many of the same religions. In Southeast Asia and Japan, Jainism, Hinduism, and Buddhism were the most common religious affiliations during the Vedic and Maurya periods. Jainism and Buddhism have similar beliefs about how the world was created. They both don t believe in a creation story or a Christian God like figure. There is simply no beginning of the world in their minds. Jainism doesn t believe in Gods; therefore, there isn t anyone responsible for creation. They have a leader named Vardhamana. They find it more realistic to say that the world has always existed and has undergone changes as time progresses. However, these changes are due to nature itself and no higher being (Volatti). Buddhism has similar thoughts about the origin of the world; however Buddhism does believe in Buddha as a God like figure. Bertrand Russell explains ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term artificial intelligence is also used to describe a property of machines or programs, the intelligence that the system demonstrates (Brynjolfsson). In Engineering, there are 5 main concepts and methods of Artificial Intelligence which are: Knowledge based systems, Neural networks, Genetic algorithms, Fuzzy logic, and Intelligent agents. In Knowledge based systems, in order to solve a problem, the problem solver must have a substantial amount of knowledge prior to the problem (Rzevski 6). In the article Artificial Intelligence in Engineering: Past, Present, and Future by George Rzevski, Feignbaum states that the performance of this system relies on the amount of information stored. • 12. The Cultural Differences Of Athens And Sparta Unlike many other ancient civilizations of the Near East, Greek history has a start like no other. The Greek civilization was based upon city states, two in particular; Athens and Sparta. These two dominants in Greek history differ from any other near east society because of their historical background, geographical region and the cultural differences they display. The Athenian city state was an open democratic maritime state, dominating Attica and supporting commercial and cultural expansion. The Spartan city state had a tightly organized, militaristic, land based state, dominating the peloponnesian peninsula. The Near east was a simple time to be alive, they had a small population and little revolutionary advancements recorded. Early Civilization brought strangers together and separated classes of people living side by side into distinct semi autonomous groupings (Sherman, McNeill 17) unlike the civilization of the greek society. Athens was dominant toward the end of the 5th century. It was located in Attica. Twelfth Night is referring to the twelfth night after Christmas, Epiphany. Today, the Twelfth Night after Christmas means the day we take down the decorations, but back in 1600 when the play was written it had a different meaning. Epiphany was a time for celebrating and partying. People used to have parties on Twelfth Night and it was traditional to play practical jokes at this time. These included tricks such as hiding live birds in an empty pie case, so that they flew away when the startled guests cut open the crusts. It was a mad time full of pranks and confusion, just as in the play. This name, Twelfth Night , therefore seems appropriate for this play due to all the confusion and the banter that goes on in the confusing storyline. In Twelfth Night we see different types of humour. There is the word play, the vulgar humour of Sir Toby, stupidity of Sir Andrew, Malvolio s foolishness , and the general confusion caused by Viola s disguise. Shakespeare used dirty and witty humour in most of his plays but it is perhaps most obvious in Twelfth Night. He used different types of humour to please all of the people who flocked to see his plays. There was always an array of people, and they all needed to be kept interested. • 17. Pine Island Glacier is the Largest Sheet of Ice on Earch Pine island Glacier is an enormous stream of ice flowing west northwest along the south of Hudson mountains into the Amundsen Sea in Antarctica. This ice sheet is the largest chunk of ice on planet Earth having a volume of a water equivalent to 57m of the global sea level. Hence, this basin has the largest net contribution of ice to the sea in the world. In the past few decades, the pine island glacier has been melting at an irreversible rate. Studies show that the ground line of the glacier has retreated 10 kilometres and is in the process of touching a 40 kilometre retreat. The glacier has been losing approximately 20 billion tons of ice each year for the past quarter of the century and is estimated to lose four times the ice in the coming quarter. As said by a glaciologist with France s Grenoble Alps University, Gael Durand, the glacier has started a phase of self sustained retreat and will continue its decline. The loss of ice from the glacier at this rate would cause disasters and hence is the latest issue of climatic concern. It has played a significant role in the rise of the global sea level. It is predicted that at this rate, the glacier will alone increase the sea level by another centimetre in the next 20 years. The thinning of the ice in West Antarctica contributes to 10% of the rise in the sea level today. The most recent acceleration has been monotonic. The warm water flows above the marine ridge which results in melting of the thick ice which comes out of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Mobile Phone Exposure And Carcinogenesis Essay Mobile phone exposure and carcinogenesis Brain cancer is the most frightening hazard of mobile phone use. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified RF fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans, in 2002 in spite of limited evidence from human and animal studies (IARC, 2002). The relation between mobile phone radiation exposure and cancer are justified. Muscat et al. (2000) showed that a relationship exists between mobile phone use and meningioma or glioma. A meta analysis conducted by Swedish researchers and published in the International Journal of Oncology, pointed out to a significant correlation between long term use of mobile phones and brain tumors (Hardell et al. 2011). They found that both malignant and benign tumors were linked to the chronic exposure to cell phone radiation and suggested that mobile phones were not safe for long term use. In 2011, after taking the opinions of 30 experts from 14 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) categorized mobile phone radiation as a potential Group 2B carcinogen and officially advised consumers to limit their use (IARC, 2011; Baan et al., 2011). This suggests that mobile phone radiation may have a carcinogenic effect. Recently, Howlader et al. (2013) reported that mobile phone use raises the risk of brain cancer. Several possible pathways of carcinogenesis have been suggested. As we have discussed, the plasma membrane may be a target of RF EMW. RF EMW may act on various enzymes and ... The constant stream of genetic modification of food can be confusing. Genetically modified (GM) foods are plants and animals that have had their genetic makeup artificially altered by scientists to make them grow faster, taste better, last longer and to provide more nutrients. Scientists make these alternations by transferring genes from one organism into another in order to change the condition or character of the receiving organism. However, during the 1900 s equality was not as easy as it is today due to factors such as individuals viewing themselves as superior to others. According to the Anti Defamation League (ADL), this is the mentality known as racism. It s defined as the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics... The perception of race by the society and its citizens affected the lives of blacks, from how they felt, to the nature and the extent in which they participated in social life. Taking a domestic approach to study gender and sex trafficking, or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how people do gender while being a part of this industry. To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber, 1994; Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are commonly trafficked for domestic service and sex industries.
