Leadership Styles Of The Road Management And Authority...
In Chapter 4, Blake and Mouton explain several different leadership styles such as: Impoverished
Management, Middle of the Road Management, Authority Compliance, Country Club Management,
Team Management, Paternalism/Maternalism and Opportunism. After a while of reflection, I
eventually come to the notion that my primary leadershipstyle is the Paternalism/Maternalism, or in
my case Maternalism. Paternalism/Maternalism suggests the leader uses both Country Club
Managementand Authority Compliance but does not mix them. This means that they have
thoughtful attention towards the needs of the people to create a comfortable and friendly
atmosphere and if need be, they decide that they will be efficient in their work by disregarding
the needs of the people. This leader acts kindly so that their group is able to accomplish the
desired goal. These leaders are often described as motherly according to their followers, some
examples are that they make most of the decisions, reward loyalty and obedience as well as
punishing non cooperation. I believe that I fall into this category of leadership for many reasons.
Although there are some parts of this leadership style that I do not follow, like, the inability to
listen to others ideas and making most of the decisions. I know that I am pretty open minded
when it comes to new ideas and I usually will let people make decisions for the group if their idea
is legitimate and it is appropriate. I actually encourage new ideas that can better

Life Of The Human Beings On The Earth
Islam means surrender before the GOD, because they have faith only in Allah and nothing else

social life of the human beings but it covers also the economy. GOD means generator, operator

Compare The Validation And Verification Methods For The...
There are various methods you can use to validate the reliability of the information. The
information will only be reliable if the information is being received from a dependable source. The
accuracy of the information and the relevance of it should also be up for consideration. There can
be many ways of errors occurring in the information from human error when inputting it to the
source material being incorrect or inaccurate. The two main techniques used to test the reliability of
the information are the validation and verification methods. The verification method involves
checking that the data entered will match up with the original source. The two main ways of doing

The validation methods comprise of making sure that the data entered makes sense and is
reasonable. There are various forms of validation from checking the format to the range etc.
There are five key checks that are used when validating the information: format check, length
check, presence check, range check and spell check. The format check would be checking if the
data is in a correct format, for example a pin number should have four numbers and therefore it
should not contain any letters etc. The check would bring this to the attention of the user if the
wrong format was being used. Length check is the check used in order to see if the data is either
too long or too short. For example if the pin number is four numbers long then the length check
will examine the data to make sure that it is the correct length and in that case it would be four
characters long. The presence check is to examine whether data has been inputted into a field as
some fields may require data entry. In a lot of databases it is required for data to be entered into
certain fields and if not then this may cause problems to the

Separate But Equal Doctrine
Brianna Ellis Mrs. Holt M/J Law Studies 8 October 2017 African Americans were granted full
citizenship, by the Fourteenth Amendment, in the year of 1868; segregation did not end until
almost a hundred years later, in 1964. The separate but equal doctrine allowed segregation as long
as blacks and whites had equal facilities. During the time of separate but equal many debated
whether this doctrine was constitutional or not. The monumental Supreme Court cases Plessy vs
Ferguson and Brown vs Board of Education shaped America s society by deciding the
constitutionality of the separate but equal doctrine. In the year of 1896, the Supreme Court case
Plessy vs Ferguson shaped America s society by concluding that the separate but equal doctrine was
constitutional. This all began when Homer Plessy, who was one eighth black, sat in the white
designated train car. He was arrested because he was in violation of the 1890 Separate Car Act,
which declared that all rail companies must implement separate but equal accommodations for
white and black passengers. Plessy contended in court that the Act infringed upon the Thirteenth
and Fourteenth Amendments. After two unsuccessful attempts in lower courts, he took his case to
the Supreme Court, which upheld the earlier rulings that segregation is constitutional under the
separate but equal doctrine. The Supreme Court decision for Plessy vs Ferguson ruled in favor of
Ferguson, 7 1. The majority found that the separate but equal doctrine did not violate the Thirteenth
and Fourteenth Amendment, while the minority found the complete opposite. The majority
identified the purpose of the Fourteenth Amendment as enforce[ing] the absolute equality of the

Analysis Of The Corpse Of Brutus Essay
Standing over the corpse of Brutus, Antony begins his terse and final speech with the words
This was the noblest Roman of them all. In order to discover the meaning of this claim, we must
look to the next few lines in which Antony provides support for it. He notes that all the
conspirators save only he / did that they did in envy of great Caesar. This seems, at least
regarding Brutus, to be accurate. We find evidence for this in the beginning of the scene set in
Brutus s orchard. Brutus says regarding Caesar I know no personal cause to spurn at him, / But
for the general. While it is not, as we shall soon find, always advisable to take the claims of this
play s characters at face value, these words are spoken when Brutus is alone and consequently
without reason to dissemble. Brutus thus does not bear any personal envy for Caesar but only
opposes him for the general cause, which is the common welfare of Rome. This aligns very well
with what Antony says next in his final speech, that Brutus only in a general honest thought / And
common good to all made one of [the conspirators]. So far, then, Antony seems to reckon Brutus
the noblest Roman of them all because of his commitment to the general welfare at the expense of
his own, and his speech perhaps expresses a tragically late recognition of Brutus s greatness.
The next three lines of this speech, however, when contrasted with the first line, present a serious
claim about nobility as it applies to the citizen and to

The Ten Commandments For The Hebrew People
The Ten Commandments, a collection of regulations set out for the Hebrew people, were said to
have been delivered to Moses around the thirteenth century BCE, while he was on Mount Sinai, by
the Hebrew God, Yahweh. The foundation of Hebrew morals and laws were constructed solely on
the Ten Commandments, from which they then formed additional specific laws under each
category of the Ten Commandments. The Hebrew people undertook these commandments with the
utmost seriousness. The Hebrews firmly believed that if they were to follow this collection of
regulations laid out for them, the Lord would free them from slavery in Egypt. As a result of the
Hebrew people following the laws in which their God had laid out for them, they did indeed

The man must then remain married to the woman, of which he slandered, for the rest of his life.
During the biblical era, it was quite common for a man to be engaged to a much younger, virgin
woman. If a man is pledged to be married to a woman and rapes her, then only he will die for she
committed no sin and was not at fault. The eighth commandment given by the Lord was You shall
not steal. The laws surrounding this commandment primarily focused on restitution. The book of
Exodus explains that anyone who steals must certainly make restitution. This commandment
focuses on paying back the wrongful act in which they committed. The ninth commandment given
by the Lord was You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. This commandments
main purpose was to ensure that civilians did not go around accusing people of senseless crimes
of which they had no association. The tenth and final commandment that the Lord had set out was
You shall not covet your neighbor s house. You shall not covet your neighbor s wife, or make his

Transitions In The Story Of Tom Brennan
The concept of Exploring Transitions is presented through the text, The Story of Tom Brennan by
J.C Burke. The Story of Tom Brennan, is about the transition of immaturity to maturity and the
adversities that come with moving from one town to another. The transition that are present
throughout this story are mental and physical transitions. Similarly, the aspects of mental transition
is also in Song of the Sea, of Ben who feels little obligation to his sister, Saoirse due to his mother s
disappearance. Saoirse also goes through a mental and physical transition throughout their journey.
Tom s initial perspective of on his transition he and his family must undertake is on of despair and
reluctance. This despair is emphasised through the emotive language that is used throughout the
prologue such as groan, dump, and shuffling. Tom s despair also creates a sense of tension
throughout the family as for the line, no one spoke, the line reinforces the tension and their
reluctance to face the new change in their life. The line down, down we glided in silence, could be
interpreted metaphorically. The metaphorical interpretation of the line represents the unwillingness
of the direction in which Tom s life is going down and the rolling down of a hill demonstrates a
forced change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Motif And Motifs In Macbeth
Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth
Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or murder;
coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of accountability for the crimes.
Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to
the murder of Duncan. While trying to secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth
frequently questions whether he should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan,
Macbeth steps aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when
it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he does it that
Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related to the brain, therefore, by
winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth
cannot stomach the thought of killing Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to
literally not see it, and not acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a
blind eye is after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and
guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I dare not (2.2.66
67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne, Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan
and his dead body. This again highlights Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot
bare to look at what he has done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of
Banquo. Even after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for
the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their succession.
For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking to Lady Macbeth about
their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day / and
with thy bloody and invisible hand (3.2.52 54). Similarly to the first passage, Macbeth is saying
the actions of killing Banquo are so violent that it cannot be visible by the light of day. Related to
both passages, Macbeth does not want anyone to

The Death Penalty Is Archaic and Immoral Essays
The death penalty is simply a modernized version of the Holy Bible s an eye for an eye, a tooth
for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot . Some argue that death is a necessary retribution
for murderous cases but is it effective morally? Revenge only glorifies violence, which is most
definitely not the message the world strives to display. The death penaltyis a negative form of
punishment and insinuates a harsh reflection of society economically, politically, and socially.
More than two thirds of the world s countries formally oppose the death penalty, yet only fifteen out
of the fifty United Statesalso object against the decree. What does this say about America? The

Dating back to the great words of Voltaire, It is better to risk saving a guilty person than to
condemn an innocent one. Over 130 people have been exculpated over false convictions since 1730
and the numbers are still growing. When those thirty five United States prove that they can weed
out the guilty from the innocent confidently and without fail, maybe then they shall obtain the
rationale behind such a serious sanction. Yet as it stands so clumsily today, there is no assurance
the death penalty emits for the future. The death penalty is discriminatory against social and
economical aspects of society. Studies show that starting in 1977, most of those placed on death row
are guilty of killing white victims, and that African Americans enumerate one third of those
executions. The most evident factor determining execution is the ethnicity of the victim, which is
extremely biased, even if racial hostility is still inextricable to civilization. Not only is the death
penalty prejudice, but it is also exceedingly unfair economically. It s horribly expensive to run
executions, and the money spent on them could be put into more useful areas of interest and even
help reduce rates of crime! Many inmates cannot afford their own attorney, which leaves them with
either no lawyer or poor representation in court to defend them selves. The government has the
authorization to ratify the death penalty in any location inside America, even in states

Compare And Contrast Fodo And Beowulf
Often, people do not see Frodo as the hero in The Fellowship of The Ring. Some see the hero
being Aragon. He fits the more typical hero standard of strong, courageous, and strategic. Aragon
can be compared to Beowulf. He is the main character, in the epic Beowulf, that Tolkien translated.
An article describes Beowulfas, He is peerlessly noble, brave, and strong. Each of his hands have
a grip equal to that of thirty men. He is alone in the World (Acocella). Both characters seem as
they could take on the world by themselves. Aragon perhaps could not. He knew he was not strong
enough to withstand temptation of the ring. Like Aragon, Beowulf had a weakness too. It was his
ego. He would often get himself into trouble when completing tasks for

Apollonian Dionysian Dialectic In Suddenly Last Summer
In the setting of Suddenly Last Summer the Apollonian Dionysian dialectic is evident in the
tension between artifice and nature. This is particularly seen in the description of Sebastian s
garden where the setting is nearly a character in itself. Author Tessa Gratton believes, you give
your setting a life by making its heart beat and it is how the characters react to it that brings it to
life. This is something Tennessee Williamsdoes particular well in Suddenly Last Summer:
The interior is blended with a fantastic garden which is more like a tropical jungle, or forest, in a
prehistoric age of giant fern forests when living creatures had flippers turning to limbs and scales to
skin....the colors of this jungle garden are violent, especially since it is steaming with heat after rain.
Sebastian s garden establishes the familiar gothic dialectic s of overrefinement and wildness,
fastidious artifice and dangerous nature that are common in this genre. Under its neat well groomed
exterior the garden contains the Dionysian image of sacrifice in the feeding of the fruit flies to the
Venus flytrapplant. This is clearly no idyllic tropical garden but a blood thirsty jungle. Catharine

Essay On East Germany Health Care System
Health care systems around the world created in each nation to fit populations needs, also to fit the
financial capabilities of the nation and for the individuals. Many cultural, political, economic and
even religious factors contribute to create a unique health care system that have its own advantages
and disadvantages. A comparison between two health systems in two developed countries, United

Essay On Australopithecus Sediba
With all of the knowledge that has been obtained since the beginning of the exploration into
Anthropology there is still many things we do not know. In fact the very order in which our
evolutionary cycle is arranged is still under debate to this day. However, through reading the book,
watching the videos, and through my own knowledge I believe that there is roughly 7 subspecies of
ancestors in which fall between the time of Australopithecus sediba and Homo erectus.
Starting with Australopithecus sediba which was found by the young boy in the first video was

of the species overlap one another and that is why our cycle is so differentiating. The Homo habilis

Homo erectus. He walk on two feet and resembled man much more that primate. It also had a very
large area in the brain that supports language which also promotes a potential for culture (Human

Lastly, we come to Homo erectus which date back from 1.8 million years to about 200,000 years

The study of Rome presents an opportunity to relate the past to the present, and analyze how
social behaviors have prevailed overtime through sport. Although sent to their death within the

Mexican Americans Negative Effects
The experience of Mexican Americans has been a lifetime of conquest fueled by their historical
trauma and underrepresentation that continues to plague the Mexican American community to this
present day and most likely still be hundreds of years later. This experience shaped by the defeat of
Mexico and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, where while the terms of treaty theoretically
protected Mexican Americans, in practice the Mexican Americans had no protections. This
prejudice and discriminationfrom something that should have been protected by the agreement lead
to the story of the La Alianza started by Reies Tijerina that started a new fight for the rights that
belong to them.
The effects of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo have a long lasting impact on Mexican Americans
and Mexican population, in Mexico, it brought back the idea that Mexico would have been better
off under Spanish rule and that a monarchy is ideally suited for Mexico, this brought forth decades
of instability in Mexico (Timothy 184). Consequently, this shows the falling back into a monarchist
or authoritarian government when a country and its peoples destroyed, more modern examples are
of Germany after World War I. Comparatively the conditions for Mexican Americans were not that
better, as mention before while the treaty politically protected, it did not have any way to stymied
the racism and discrimination that became directed at them. Showing that the law does not mean

In another mixed method study to explore the knowledge of the UK weaning guidelines and the
sources of weaning advice used by UK first time mothers (Moore et al, 2012), findings were quite
similar to the first study. The use of elements from both quantitative and qualitative research
approaches have been found to contribute positively to the research process (Johnson et al. 2007).
This was the main methodological strength of this study together with its size although there
remains the argument that combining two methods of research can be difficult (Giddings and
Grant, 2006). Gildea et al (2009) support the use of the internet in obtaining information on
weaning. The result showed 86% of the respondents had knowledge about the guidelines that
related to weaning which resulted in later weaning. A significant number of the mothers got
weaning information from different places, but health visitor advice had the most influence on the
26% of the mother s decision to wean, while the internet attributed to 25% and books to 18% of
mothers. Nevertheless, 56% still attributed the source of conflicting advice to come from healthcare
professionals. This supports findings by Moore et al (2012) who found that Health Visitors were
inconsistent with the advice they gave on weaning guidelines and recommendations. This is despite
the fact that they are the largest number of health professionals who give advice to postnatal
mothers in the UK. This inconsistency in advice also contributes to

Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Essay
Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Ralph Nader campaigned for the 2001
Presidency by arguing that there are no real differences between the two major parties. In a broad
sense, that statement might seem true. Major political parties play a majoritarian role in an
otherwise pluralistic democracy in the United States. They are both majoritarian institutions trying
to win control of the government. The differences between the parties lie in each party s beliefs
about the purpose and scope of government. The United States is a government run by the people
and for the people. The whole population may participate in governing through the device of having
a much smaller number of people act on their behalf. In a pluralistic... Show more content on

All governments require people to surrender some freedom as a part of being governed and
people can justify surrending some freedom to this control in order to obtain the benefits of
government. Government has always served two major purposes: maintaining order, which is
preserving life and protecting property, and providing public goods, such as highways, state
parks, etc. Recently, government has pursued a third purpose: promoting equality. In the United
States, the government s fundamental issues are often defined as freedom, order and equality.
How it decides to promote those fundamental issues and how it chooses the proper mix of
freedom, order and equality in its policymaking has to do with the process of choice. Freedom
means different things to different people at different times, depending on what political context
is being used. The two major senses of freedom are: freedom of and freedom from. Freedom of
means freedom to do something. It is the lack of constraints on behavior. Freedom from means
immunity from discrimination and it comes close to the concept of equality. Order is viewed in
one sense as preserving life and protecting property. Few people would argue the need for order.
However, order viewed in broader senses refers to established patterns of authority in society and to
traditional modes of behavior, such as how students should dress in school (neatly and without
outrageous hair colors) and what the press should not

Stephani Soechting s Film Fed Up
Stephani Soechting s film, Fed up gives a look at how obesity became a problem over time, a
serious problem. Throughout the movie as it goes deeper in on the food industries, the facts
clearly show that they are the cause of the obesity epidemic. The film also focuses on children
who have become overweight. According to Katie Couric, many people think that kids are
overweight for two reasons: a lack of exercise and increased appetites. (Fed Up). Soechting s film,

Assessment Mackenzie Robinson In 13 Reasons Why By Jay Asher
Unit 2 : AssessmentMackenzie Robinson The book I read for this unit was 13 Reasons Why by
Jay Asher. The book is about Hannah, she has a very hard time with life. Her reputation is very
well know, but that is not really who she is. All the different events that have happened , have
formed her reputation. The events and stories about her are all made up. Everyone thinks they
are all true, her reputation is ruined. All the kids at her school continue to think she does stuff
with boys, herself and even girls so they start to make up more stuff that has come from short
clips they see and make it a whole video and add details in themselves. Hannah s problem and the
problem of the book was Hannah being bullied. Her solution took a long time and she was never
really sure until the end of the problems. She never had this thought until an event that triggered
her to think this. She just went along with all the bullying and all the rumors spread. She didn t
want to kill herself in a painful way. After her thought of suicide, she made the choice to make
cassette tapes. Seven of them all but the seventh one with using both side. That counts for 13 tapes

Daniel Levinson s Theory Of Middle Adulthood
Middle adulthood refers to the time period between 45 and 65, in which adults have settled down
and are now contemplating their place in the world. It s during middle adulthood that adults now
are faced with the effort of passing on something meaningful to future generations. The theories
associated with middle adulthood describe the different aspects that are important during middle
adulthood, from personality developmentto vital relationships. Examining these aspects can help
one to gain a better understanding of the development that occurs during middle adulthood. One
theory that describes the way in which personality develops during this time is Erikson s theory.
Erikson s theory refers to middle adulthood as the stage of generativity versus stagnation;
generativity describes the passing on of a legacy from one generation to the next, where stagnation
is the lack of passing on such a legacy. Generativity can be accomplished by bearing offspring,
guiding and nurturing children, and passing on life skills and culture. It s during this stage that
adults try to lead the next generation by teaching, guiding, and participating in activities that benefit
the community (Santrock, 2017, pg. 487).
Another theory associated with personality during middle age is Daniel Levinson s Seasons of a
Man s Life. According to Levinson s theory, there are seven stages of life, with each stage
consisting of a transitional period and a stable period. The first of his seven stages is the

What Are The Changes In Law Enforcement Essay
Law enforcement has got to be one of the most adaptable careers out there. With our society it is
constantly changing and evolving. Law enforcement must adapt quickly. Over the past couple
years our society has seen dramatic changes between the public s relationship and law
enforcement. With such diversity among the United States our law enforcement has to be
capable of adapting with these people or else there will be more serious issues later on down the
road. There is no constant, our society continues to grow in every which way, but at the same
time all these people need the proper protection and policing. There are many challenges law
enforcement will endure in the next decade, but with the proper training many lives can be
saved. I believe law enforcement should always be held at high regard. Some people that have
been hired in the past should have never been given a badge. Background checks are crucial and
should be done in drastic extent. Problems that have occurred in the past seem to sometimes
follow later on down in life, unless the individual drastically changes their ways and character.
The first step to avoiding a bad situation later on is hiring the right people. With technology
available today, anything can be found. Therefore, law enforcement should be capable of doing
the same thing for the people who they look to hire. The first step to avoiding a bad decision is
hiring the right people. There were many cases for these small towns that don t

Opioid Tolerance Research
Biological Mechanisms
The biological mechanisms underpinning the effects of opioid tolerance on local anaesthetic
effectiveness are complicated. It is simpler to consider the effects of local anaesthetics on the body
and the effects of opioid tolerance separately.
When neurons in the body are stimulated they send signals, in the form of action potentials, to the
brain relaying messages. These tell the body how to respond. This is why, for example, the body
recognises a feeling of pain when it is wounded. During this stimulation, there occurs an opening of
activation gates of voltage sensitive sodium channels. This allows sodium to enter the cell, reducing
the cell s negative charge. When a full action potential is generated, there ... Show more content on

The onset of a state of total anaesthesia was measured, along with the amount required to induce
such a state. Researchers found there was a significant increase in the time required to reach total
anaesthesia for opioid tolerant patients. Further, the amount of local anaesthesia required to reach
this state was significantly higher for opioid tolerant patients than for non opioid tolerant patients.
Biological mechanisms suggested to explain this phenomenon included a change in function and
concentration of the opioid receptors in opioid tolerant patients. Similar to the first experiment
mentioned above, the study found the desensitisation of opioid receptors in the brain and spinal
cord caused by tolerance to opioids further inhibited the progression of action potentials, resulting
in the need for an increased dosage of local anaesthetic to reach the same level of

Communication Is A Form Of Symmetrical Communication
Communication can come in various forms. A person can write, speak, or even use American Sign
Language to communicate. Within communication itself, there are various styles used and ways to
receive feedback. To name a couple, two way asymmetrical and two way symmetrical
communication are two well know forms in regards to Public Relations. Asymmetrical
Communication happens when professionals seek to pursue their publics into changing their
opinions about certain things. However, this attempt is usually unequal, given that professionals
use research to help them persuade their publics. Symmetrical Communication on the other hand
has a form of balance to it and can lead publics to change their attitudes on their own.
I think that blogging is a form of symmetrical communication. Although it may seem unusual, this is
an actual form of communication. A person (both professional and non professional) is able to
publish their opinion about something and publics are able to read and/or respond by commenting.
Usually blog posts get overlooked. There are probably a million posts that have been published,
but no one has read. However, well known bloggers or blog sites, like Perez Hilton, TMZ,
Mashable, and my personal favorite, The Shade room are all somewhat reliable sources. Many of
these are digital media. These are people and/or their sites that receive a ton of feedback from their
blog posts. The Shade Room in particular usually posts updates and breaking news on celebrities,

nursing field as a collective group. The nursing role is evolving, following the process the outcomes
have to be evaluated and put into perspective. Research is being completed the conclusions are all
the same, the higher education of nursing care the better the patient outcomes. In an article
published in Health Services Research in August 2008 that examined the effect of nursing practice
environments on outcomes of hospitalized cancer patients undergoing surgery, Dr. Christopher
Friese and colleagues found that nursing education level was significantly associated with patient
outcomes. Nurses prepared at the baccalaureate level were linked with lower mortality and failure
to rescue rates. The authors conclude that moving to a nurse workforce in which a higher
proportion of staff nurses have at least a baccalaureate level education would result in substantially
fewer adverse outcomes for patients.

(Acts 7)
The Tabernacle and the Temple Christians argue that even the Tabernacle of Moses and the
Temple of Solomon testify about Christ. The author of the book of Hebrews tells us why God s
patterns for the Tabernacle were so precise and specific: Therefore it was necessary for the
copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves
with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere
copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us
(Hebrews 9:23 24). The Tabernacle is a partial reflection of heaven. Evangelist and author,
Theodore Epp, illustrates in his book, Portraits of Christ in the Tabernacle, that every single
item and area in the Tabernacle foreshadowed Christian truths. He bases several connections on
the structure of the temple. The open Outer Court, the semi restricted Holy Place, and the
exclusive Holy of Holies are compared to man s body, soul, and spirit; Jesus claim to be the
Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the system by which one comes to approach God. (10 21) One
should consider God s intent for the Tabernacle in the first place: Let them construct a sanctuary
for Me, that I may dwell among them (Exodus 25:8) The purpose of the Tabernacle was so that
God may have a place to dwell among His people. God could not dwell with His people unless their
sins were atoned for. The

Consumer Culture Essay
Consumer culture is a fundamental part of many modern societies across the world, influencing a
wide a range of areas from politics to economics and identity. Consumption is viewed as
significantly powerful force in the economy and therefore understanding consumption and
consumer culture is a vitally important resource both for the benefit of the economyand the
individual. Consumer culture theory aims to understand the behaviours and attitudes of consumers
from a sociological perspective, as opposed the economic mindset in which consumer culture is
usually viewed. Consumer culture theory attempts this through understanding the relationships
between consumer actions, the marketplace, and cultural meanings (Arnould and Thompson, 2005).

Individuals use possession to create and maintain identity, however the identity an individual creates
through consumption of goods can not always be controlled (Friedman, 2005). An obvious example
being clothing, an individual may purchase clothing that they believe makes them look fashionable
but the items could in fact cause other to perceive them as unfashionable and out of date.
The value of items is created by consumers through the meanings they attach to said items.
companies can try to influence the meanings attached to items but the overall meaning and value
attached to items is by the individual (McCracken, 1986). This also means that different items can
have different cultural value and meanings to different individuals. some items may have no
external value but have very significant value to an individual, for example family heirlooms or
photos. this personal value however does not transfer between individuals and while some items
may hold strong value for an individual the item itself is not a commodity that can be exchanged

A Man By The Name Of Species By Charles R. Darwin
Introduction
A man by the name of Charles R. Darwin published a book that was titled On the Origin of
Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for
Life, (typically called The Origin of Species). Published in 1859, this book caused a great
dispute in the world of science. You see, in his book Darwin was just trying to answer an age old
question How Did We Get Here? without ever referring to a supernatural creator. This book
shocked the science community. Up until now, science was linked to god. The idea to some
people that science and God were not together was astonishing. But to others it was horrendous.

He mainly concentrated on the finches. Many science historians give credit to the birds (Darwin s
Finches) in inspiring Darwin s theory. Let s look at the birds. Bird 1 has thick long beak. Bird 2
has a thick short beak. Bird 3 has a tiny stub like beak while bird 4 has a short narrow beak. Also
their food preferences varied between the species. The big beaked birds could crack a shell of an
egg, while the small beaked birds could only eat insects. What does this prove? They are a good
example of micro evolution. They show us that finches can vary in their morphology, and that
natural selection has a role in this. HOWEVER...This study does not give evidence for macro
evolution, and does not prove that natural selection and random mutation could produce the living
world as we know it from simple single celled ancestors.
Microevolution VS. Macroevolution
Darwin was able to derail an idea that each individual species on the earth was specially created
by God and could never fundamentally change. How? Darwin compared domestic the
domesticated versions of many animals with that of their wild counterparts. Example. Wild dogs
behaved different from domesticated dogs. Fact most domesticated dogs cannot reproduce with
wild ones. Thus domestic dogs were considered a whole different species however, domestic dogs
were only wild dogs that the breeder trained. Dog breeders would selectively mate these dogs that
had allowed reproducing. This manmade selection Darwin realized this

Excluding women from frontline combat is essentially sexist. Regardless of the many substantial
contributions women have made to the United States military from the American Revolutionary
war to the contemporary Iraq and Afghanistan wars, it has long been a sanctuary of masculinity,
which consequently, has resulted in the organization s steadfast resistance against women s direct

According to a 2012 BBC article, women s involvement in combat zones has increased due to
indistinct battle lines during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, in which it has become less and less
possible to keep women out of combat conditions, has resulted in a loosening of limitations for
women serving in the US military. While women are not yet allowed to serve in frontline combat,
the eased limits have increased their opportunities for both occupational advancement and proving
their worth in combat positions. Additionally, once a soldier has received suitable training, and
meets the requirements for frontline duty, any combatant should, ideally, do what he or she was
trained for, despite his or her sex. Clearly then, whoever chooses to, or is chosen to be on frontlines
has likely steeled their emotions allowing for appropriate functional performance. Opponents to
women in combat contend females require supplementary accommodations based on sex
distinctions, such as menstrual cycles, pregnancies, and restroom accommodations, and as such,
women will disrupt the efficacy of the military unit. While pregnancy is certainly a possibility for
many female soldiers, it is doubtful that a woman dedicated to obtaining a combat position would
allow herself to become pregnant, thus jeopardizing her hard work toward martial occupational
expansion. Interestingly, as Elizabeth

Production of an Artificial Knee Joint
Production of an artificial knee joint begins with investment casting, a process that involves
little to no shearing. Investment casting produces products that have good surface quality and
high spatial accuracy. It is advantageous for parts with more complex shapes or materials that are
difficult to form. This method involves seven steps and results in the preliminary shapes of the
femoral and tibial parts. 1. Wax Pattern Production Wax patterns function to shape the cavity
within the mold. Though it is called a wax pattern, the pattern may also include materials such as
wax, stearic acid, plastic and other industrial chemicals [3]. There are two ways to produce a
wax pattern. For both, a wax cylinder is first taken from heat preservation equipment and placed
on a hydraulic die casting machine to remove any air or geocerite from the wax. In one process,
the wax is then poured into the mold and swirled around until the inner surface is covered with an
even coating. This is repeated until an appropriate thickness is reached. The second method is to
pressure inject the liquid wax into an aluminum mold. The mold is then turned upside down so
the liquid wax is removed and the remaining wax layer is left to cool and harden. 2. Wax Pattern
Assembly In order to improve productivity, workers usually assemble multiple patterns on a holder
made of wax. They are held together with melted wax, producing a pattern tree so that many wax
patterns can be made at once. Patterns with

first week, the head lifeguard told me she was impressed with my work ethic and started
assigning me more shifts. I enjoyed working as a lifeguard, but it was hard work. Most people
think that all a lifeguard does is sit on the stand and make sure no one drowns, but that is not the
case. Lifeguards are responsible for cleaning the pool deck, maintaining chemicals in the pool, and
opening and closing the pool. The hardest part of the job was definitely cleaning the pool deck.
Each day, I would have to clean up melted ice cream sandwiches, ketchup, and almost anything
imaginable off the pool

Analysis Of The Film Sankofa
For people of African descent, both in America and abroad, the questions and facts of enslavement
in the New World carry heavy questions of blame, assessment, wonder, and humiliation. For
contemporary citizens of the Americas, those diasporic questions are borne of race, morality,
disenfranchisement, and economic enforcement, raising larger questions centered in shared cultural
experience. Conspicuously, if film, as art, is to be looked at as a cultural artifact, then black
independent film and the recounting of black lived experiences can be seen as artistic markers of
racial progress, evidenced identity, and the claim to self definition, leading to questions centered on
the ways in which meaning is made of cultural experience as it is represented and shared.
It is to these questions that the film Sankofa (Gerima, 1994) addresses itself. Sankofa is not
simply a slave movie in the Hollywood sense of films like Amistad (Spielberg, 1997), Django
Unchained (Tarrantino, 2012), 12 Years a Slave (McQueen, 2013), Band of Angels Walsh (1957),
or Gone With the Wind (Fleming, 1939). Unlike these films, Sankofa stands outside of Hollywood
standards by demonstrating itself to be a black film as defined by film philosopher Tommy L. Lott:
...(F)undamentally concerned with issues that currently define the political struggle for black people
... (Sankofa) incorporates a plurality of political values that are consistent with the fate and destiny
of black people as a group engaged in a

Sol And Aquara Short Story
Sol and Luna lived high in the heavens in their shimmering thrones above Terro, the earth. One
day Luna had a baby. That baby s name was Aquara. She grew up in the heavens and slowly
developed an aching love for Terro. She watched and watched, then as she grew older she
decided to move to be with Terro. They lived intertwined in everlasting love for many years,
Aquara surrounding Terro with her devoted emotion.. As time went on Sol realized a problem.
He knew that he needed to have a place for beings to live. He couldn t put beings on Terro, for he
was covered in Aquara s long draping navy blue cloak. Sol knew that the only way was to split
them apart. One day Sol reached down to Terro and Aquara, and split them apart and placed them
side by side. Terro understood and thanked Sol for letting them still be close. Aquara on the other
hand, was agonized. Sol placed all the animals down to Terro. He nurtured and nourished them as
Aquara sat in silence. Finally she broke down.
Anger and outrage struck her. Who is he to tell me what I can do?
Her body started shaking, her legs trembling, her eyes changed from a royal blue to a smoldering
red. With an ear piercing cry she shouted to the heavens. You will pay for this! you will pay!
Aquara violently rose up to the heavens, high above Terro. With a terrorizing scream, she forced...

The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking By Malcolm Gladwell
Books are the most easily driven routes toward education. They present themselves differently to
different readers. We learn by what the dark words say on the bright pages. Authors that write
traditional textbooks are not really singled out in terms of recognition among individuals. However,
authors that talk to their readers but teach them simultaneously in books are the ones we tend to
think about and respect more. Malcolm Gladwell is a stellar example of the latter. This essay will
contain my findings on Malcolm Gladwell and his literature.
Malcolm Gladwell is a journalist, an author, and a public speaker. He s been a staff writer for The
New Yorker since he was 33. He has been featured in Time Magazine s 100 Most Influential
People . Malcolm Gladwell graduated the University of Toronto s Trinity College with a history
degree in 1984. In 2005, he published a book that would not only be one of his best sellers, but
would also inspire others to study psychology. The name of that book is called : Blink; The Power
of Thinking Without Thinking.
Blink s overall synopsis contains a tactic that we use to make decisions everyday called thin
slicing. Gladwell often describes thin slicing as a decision made based on our undetected
subconscious opinions and biases. He shines a light of the fact that those decisions are often made
within two seconds and that our subconscious is a locked door. He relates thin slicing to mind
reading based on our memory of facial expressions and

Propaganda The Birth Of Spin Analysis
The First World War marks a time of hardship and loss for all countries involved. To ensure and
sustain enthusiasm and investment for the war, those in power turned to the concept of
propoganda and spin. WWI effected everyone, even those not fighting, so the propaganda
displayed was an attempt to boost moral and interest. To do so, governments were able to utilize
new technologies, spreading these ideas faster and to a more broad audience. Those newly
aquired techniques have swept over this world and are still used today, some in more severe
manners. While there may have been some minimal, small scale use of spin in earlier civilizations,
it was during World War I, the use of spin and propagandatook enormous leaps, becoming an
essential aspect... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cooke states, Through a sophisticated appreciation of the power of image, ready access to
communication technologies, and a new mobilization of dehumanizing images and language, non
state extremist groups have become experts in using propaganda to extend their influence and
maintain a flow of recruits and resources (Cooke.)Today, people put to use these sophisticated
technologies to continue this now seemingly crucial aspect of extreme position or view.
Unfortunately spin techniques are now employed heavily, not for the common good, but to
further self interests of greed, power, and authority. The ends no longer justify the means. The
once noble use of spin to boost morale and ultimately win a war too costly to lose, has since
degraded into a special interest feeding frenzy. And in spite of increased levels of public
awareness of spin, the techniques are still working to sway public opinion. Somehow peoplr don t
think they are being fooled, but somehow spin permeates media and, depending upon which spin
allures then, ultimately the result is polarizing. Middle ground is evaporating because there is little
spin advocating middle ground. Spin generally promotes more extreme positions, whether pro or
con, liberal or conservative,

The Structural Framework Of Letter
When observing the structural framework of Letter to Romans, chapters nine through eleven are a
distinctive unit because of the central focus on God s inclusion of salvation for all. Awkward
sentence structure. Prior to chapters nine through eleven, Paul verbally confronts individually
within his religious heritage for justifying their faith through their works to God s promise rather
by grace through faith. Chapters (7 8) explore the importance of tying the law with the gospelin
order to live a righteous yet difficult life. Within these chapters, Paul continually berates the Jews
for their rejection of Christ and for their faith justified by good works. However, Paul shifts his
focus from the jews to the gentiles regarding their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that this could be correct, I would add a sentence or two explaining why.
This scriptural passage is connected to preceding sections by using a transitional phrase So that
you (v.25). This corresponds to the transitional phrase of the preceding section on the salvation
of the gentiles, So I ask, (thesis points to previou section) Awkward sentence construction (v.11)
One could interpret this use of transitional phrases as a series of points stemming from the main
argument that Israel is still God s elect and will attain salvation through the Gentiles according to
God s plan. Within this text, an important conceptual link is this emphasis on all of Israel . The
Elijah narrative in the beginning of chapter 11, portrays God granting mercy on the people of
Israel even though they have persecuted his prophets and desecrated the altars of God s temple.
However, those who are shown mercy are those 7,000 people who have not worshipped Baal. Paul
expands upon this by stating that So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.
(v.5) The remanent pertains to the Jewish Christians of Paul s time. However, two sections later,
Paul makes an argument that all of Israel, even those who have disobeyed God, will attain salvation
and mercy.
The NRSV presents two textual problems for this scriptural passage. In verse 28, the word God
was not originally in the sentence, therefore the line is

This confirms what the literature has found as well. The jump serve is more likely to have a
decreased flight time, an increased ball velocity and a flatter projection angle. My hypothesis of
which serve would be considered better was confirmed, but I was surprised at the minimal
difference of each factor between each serve. I assumed that each factor would be significantly
different between the two serves. Based on my results, I can confirm that the jump serve is the
better volleyball serve in a competition setting. The reduced flight time allows competitors less
time to react to the ball, the increased ball velocity makes it more difficult to handle and control
and the flatter projection angle makes it more difficult to pass. Therefore, the jump serve is more
likely to earn points in a competition

Examples Of Usury In The Catholic Convention
Usury remains denounced in the Catholic convention, however as Germain Grisez brings up: The
Church never taught that all charging of interest is wrong, but only that it is wrong to charge
interest on a loan in virtue of the very making of the loan, rather than in virtue of some factor
related to the loan which provides a basis for fair compensation. At the end of the day, there is
improvement yet not disagreement in the custom. Finnis closes: Aquinas record of usury, brought

Football Game Essay
Today is May 3, 2016, the day we take on the best team in our conference. The coach announced
yesterday that I, Tyler Bush would be on the mound against the 12 0 Red Raiders. The feeling I
have cannot even be explained in words. To think not one team has been within five points of
defeating them is hard to believe. I don t know whether to be excited because coach would put
the ball in my hands against the Red Raiders or nervous because I do not want to be embarrassed
when we lose 20 0. Now I have to sit and wait through six and a half hours of people saying I do not

Our batters our having no luck against the darts that their pitcher is throwing. As we have not

to the mound at the bottom of the fifth inning to take on the heart of the lineup. The previous four
innings went smoothly with the opponent only getting four hits. My confidence level was high,
three more innings and we will be walking out of here with a win. But, going through the four,
five, six batters will be a major obstacle. As the game proceeds, I am getting more and more
nervous every pitch.
As I released my go to pitch, I thought it would blow right by the hitter. But I thought wrong.
The 6 3, 200 pounder cranked the ball down the right field line for a stand up triple. My hope in
the matter of a split second went down the drain. With my confidence level at its all time low, all
I wanted to do was take a seat. I knew that was not an option. But the road is not getting easier, as
the 6 3, 200 pounders brother approached the plate. I knew I had to strike him out in order to have
any chance at winning this game. My second pitch of the inning, gone, out of the park. I just
ruined an amazing performance by our entire team in the matter of 2 pitches. I felt as if my team
lost all hope. From that point on, the game was over.

The Four Learning Methods In Aid Of Learning

will avoid trainees and students from having to hyperlink to another page and working through

The goal is for the lecture to be a synchronous event. Happening at the various sites at a set time.
The other components would be asynchronous. Giving individuals to go over the material in a more
remote setting that may work better for them, yet still giving them access to the instructor if they
are unclear about any part of the material. Nian shing (2006) explains that synchronous learning
environments, provide savings in terms of time and cost, in many situations they can also
outperform both asynchronous online instruction and traditional face‐to‐face . The hope is
that the flexibility and options would prove helpful for the learners. Just like the video and
discussion, the test portion being asynchronous would allow for the learners to operate under their
best elements and results would be best then rather forcing all learners to operate under the same
mechanism.
Goals
By the end of the training sessions members of His and Her should be able to:
1)List vision and mission of the company.
2)Create concise and effective lesson plans.
3)Pass all modules on compliance requirements for students with disabilities classrooms.
4)Be familiar with workplace behavior and guidelines
5)Display a firm understanding of First Aid and Safety measures.

  • 2. Leadership Styles Of The Road Management And Authority... In Chapter 4, Blake and Mouton explain several different leadership styles such as: Impoverished Management, Middle of the Road Management, Authority Compliance, Country Club Management, Team Management, Paternalism/Maternalism and Opportunism. After a while of reflection, I eventually come to the notion that my primary leadershipstyle is the Paternalism/Maternalism, or in my case Maternalism. Paternalism/Maternalism suggests the leader uses both Country Club Managementand Authority Compliance but does not mix them. This means that they have thoughtful attention towards the needs of the people to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere and if need be, they decide that they will be efficient in their work by disregarding the needs of the people. This leader acts kindly so that their group is able to accomplish the desired goal. These leaders are often described as motherly according to their followers, some examples are that they make most of the decisions, reward loyalty and obedience as well as punishing non cooperation. I believe that I fall into this category of leadership for many reasons. Although there are some parts of this leadership style that I do not follow, like, the inability to listen to others ideas and making most of the decisions. I know that I am pretty open minded when it comes to new ideas and I usually will let people make decisions for the group if their idea is legitimate and it is appropriate. I actually encourage new ideas that can better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The information will only be reliable if the information is being received from a dependable source. The accuracy of the information and the relevance of it should also be up for consideration. There can be many ways of errors occurring in the information from human error when inputting it to the source material being incorrect or inaccurate. The validation methods comprise of making sure that the data entered makes sense and is reasonable. There are various forms of validation from checking the format to the range etc. There are five key checks that are used when validating the information: format check, length check, presence check, range check and spell check. The format check would be checking if the data is in a correct format, for example a pin number should have four numbers and therefore it should not contain any letters etc. The check would bring this to the attention of the user if the wrong format was being used. Length check is the check used in order to see if the data is either too long or too short. For example if the pin number is four numbers long then the length check will examine the data to make sure that it is the correct length and in that case it would be four characters long. The presence check is to examine whether data has been inputted into a field as some fields may require data entry. • 5. Separate But Equal Doctrine Brianna Ellis Mrs. Holt M/J Law Studies 8 October 2017 African Americans were granted full citizenship, by the Fourteenth Amendment, in the year of 1868; segregation did not end until almost a hundred years later, in 1964. The separate but equal doctrine allowed segregation as long as blacks and whites had equal facilities. During the time of separate but equal many debated whether this doctrine was constitutional or not. The monumental Supreme Court cases Plessy vs Ferguson and Brown vs Board of Education shaped America s society by deciding the constitutionality of the separate but equal doctrine. In the year of 1896, the Supreme Court case Plessy vs Ferguson shaped America s society by concluding that the separate but equal doctrine was constitutional. This all began when Homer Plessy, who was one eighth black, sat in the white designated train car. He was arrested because he was in violation of the 1890 Separate Car Act, which declared that all rail companies must implement separate but equal accommodations for white and black passengers. Plessy contended in court that the Act infringed upon the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments. After two unsuccessful attempts in lower courts, he took his case to the Supreme Court, which upheld the earlier rulings that segregation is constitutional under the separate but equal doctrine. The Supreme Court decision for Plessy vs Ferguson ruled in favor of Ferguson, 7 1. The majority found that the separate but equal doctrine did not violate the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendment, while the minority found the complete opposite. The majority identified the purpose of the Fourteenth Amendment as enforce[ing] the absolute equality of the two races before the law, but then asserted that it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color, or to enforce social...equality , Landmark Cases of the U.S. Supreme Court. Summary of the Decision | www.Streetlaw.org, landmarkcases.org/en/Page/436 /Summary_of_the_Decision. • 7. Analysis Of The Corpse Of Brutus Essay Standing over the corpse of Brutus, Antony begins his terse and final speech with the words This was the noblest Roman of them all. In order to discover the meaning of this claim, we must look to the next few lines in which Antony provides support for it. He notes that all the conspirators save only he / did that they did in envy of great Caesar. This seems, at least regarding Brutus, to be accurate. We find evidence for this in the beginning of the scene set in Brutus s orchard. Brutus says regarding Caesar I know no personal cause to spurn at him, / But for the general. While it is not, as we shall soon find, always advisable to take the claims of this play s characters at face value, these words are spoken when Brutus is alone and consequently without reason to dissemble. Brutus thus does not bear any personal envy for Caesar but only opposes him for the general cause, which is the common welfare of Rome. This aligns very well with what Antony says next in his final speech, that Brutus only in a general honest thought / And common good to all made one of [the conspirators]. So far, then, Antony seems to reckon Brutus the noblest Roman of them all because of his commitment to the general welfare at the expense of his own, and his speech perhaps expresses a tragically late recognition of Brutus s greatness. The next three lines of this speech, however, when contrasted with the first line, present a serious claim about nobility as it applies to the citizen and to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The foundation of Hebrew morals and laws were constructed solely on the Ten Commandments, from which they then formed additional specific laws under each category of the Ten Commandments. The Hebrew people undertook these commandments with the utmost seriousness. The Story of Tom Brennan, is about the transition of immaturity to maturity and the adversities that come with moving from one town to another. The transition that are present throughout this story are mental and physical transitions. Similarly, the aspects of mental transition is also in Song of the Sea, of Ben who feels little obligation to his sister, Saoirse due to his mother s disappearance. Saoirse also goes through a mental and physical transition throughout their journey. Tom s initial perspective of on his transition he and his family must undertake is on of despair and reluctance. This despair is emphasised through the emotive language that is used throughout the prologue such as groan, dump, and shuffling. Tom s despair also creates a sense of tension throughout the family as for the line, no one spoke, the line reinforces the tension and their reluctance to face the new change in their life. The line down, down we glided in silence, could be interpreted metaphorically. The metaphorical interpretation of the line represents the unwillingness of the direction in which Tom s life is going down and the rolling down of a hill demonstrates a forced change. ... • 11. Motif And Motifs In Macbeth Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or murder; coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of accountability for the crimes. Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to the murder of Duncan. While trying to secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth frequently questions whether he should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan, Macbeth steps aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he does it that Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related to the brain, therefore, by winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth cannot stomach the thought of killing Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to literally not see it, and not acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a blind eye is after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I dare not (2.2.66 67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne, Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan and his dead body. This again highlights Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot bare to look at what he has done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of Banquo. Even after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their succession. For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking to Lady Macbeth about their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day / and with thy bloody and invisible hand (3.2.52 54). Similarly to the first passage, Macbeth is saying the actions of killing Banquo are so violent that it cannot be visible by the light of day. • 12. The Death Penalty Is Archaic and Immoral Essays The death penalty is simply a modernized version of the Holy Bible s an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot . Some argue that death is a necessary retribution for murderous cases but is it effective morally? Revenge only glorifies violence, which is most definitely not the message the world strives to display. The death penaltyis a negative form of punishment and insinuates a harsh reflection of society economically, politically, and socially. More than two thirds of the world s countries formally oppose the death penalty, yet only fifteen out of the fifty United Statesalso object against the decree. What does this say about America? Dating back to the great words of Voltaire, It is better to risk saving a guilty person than to condemn an innocent one. Over 130 people have been exculpated over false convictions since 1730 and the numbers are still growing. When those thirty five United States prove that they can weed out the guilty from the innocent confidently and without fail, maybe then they shall obtain the rationale behind such a serious sanction. Yet as it stands so clumsily today, there is no assurance the death penalty emits for the future. The death penalty is discriminatory against social and economical aspects of society. Studies show that starting in 1977, most of those placed on death row are guilty of killing white victims, and that African Americans enumerate one third of those executions. The most evident factor determining execution is the ethnicity of the victim, which is extremely biased, even if racial hostility is still inextricable to civilization. Not only is the death penalty prejudice, but it is also exceedingly unfair economically. It s horribly expensive to run executions, and the money spent on them could be put into more useful areas of interest and even help reduce rates of crime! Many inmates cannot afford their own attorney, which leaves them with either no lawyer or poor representation in court to defend them selves. This is particularly seen in the description of Sebastian s garden where the setting is nearly a character in itself. Author Tessa Gratton believes, you give your setting a life by making its heart beat and it is how the characters react to it that brings it to life. This is something Tennessee Williamsdoes particular well in Suddenly Last Summer: The interior is blended with a fantastic garden which is more like a tropical jungle, or forest, in a prehistoric age of giant fern forests when living creatures had flippers turning to limbs and scales to skin....the colors of this jungle garden are violent, especially since it is steaming with heat after rain. Sebastian s garden establishes the familiar gothic dialectic s of overrefinement and wildness, fastidious artifice and dangerous nature that are common in this genre. Mexican Americans Negative Effects The experience of Mexican Americans has been a lifetime of conquest fueled by their historical trauma and underrepresentation that continues to plague the Mexican American community to this present day and most likely still be hundreds of years later. This experience shaped by the defeat of Mexico and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, where while the terms of treaty theoretically protected Mexican Americans, in practice the Mexican Americans had no protections. This prejudice and discriminationfrom something that should have been protected by the agreement lead to the story of the La Alianza started by Reies Tijerina that started a new fight for the rights that belong to them. The effects of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo have a long lasting impact on Mexican Americans and Mexican population, in Mexico, it brought back the idea that Mexico would have been better off under Spanish rule and that a monarchy is ideally suited for Mexico, this brought forth decades of instability in Mexico (Timothy 184). In another mixed method study to explore the knowledge of the UK weaning guidelines and the sources of weaning advice used by UK first time mothers (Moore et al, 2012), findings were quite similar to the first study. The use of elements from both quantitative and qualitative research approaches have been found to contribute positively to the research process (Johnson et al. 2007). This was the main methodological strength of this study together with its size although there remains the argument that combining two methods of research can be difficult (Giddings and Grant, 2006). Gildea et al (2009) support the use of the internet in obtaining information on weaning. The result showed 86% of the respondents had knowledge about the guidelines that related to weaning which resulted in later weaning. A significant number of the mothers got weaning information from different places, but health visitor advice had the most influence on the 26% of the mother s decision to wean, while the internet attributed to 25% and books to 18% of mothers. Nevertheless, 56% still attributed the source of conflicting advice to come from healthcare professionals. This supports findings by Moore et al (2012) who found that Health Visitors were inconsistent with the advice they gave on weaning guidelines and recommendations. This is despite the fact that they are the largest number of health professionals who give advice to postnatal mothers in the UK. This inconsistency in advice also contributes to ... They are both majoritarian institutions trying to win control of the government. The differences between the parties lie in each party s beliefs about the purpose and scope of government. Government has always served two major purposes: maintaining order, which is preserving life and protecting property, and providing public goods, such as highways, state parks, etc. Recently, government has pursued a third purpose: promoting equality. In the United States, the government s fundamental issues are often defined as freedom, order and equality. How it decides to promote those fundamental issues and how it chooses the proper mix of freedom, order and equality in its policymaking has to do with the process of choice. Freedom means different things to different people at different times, depending on what political context is being used. The two major senses of freedom are: freedom of and freedom from. Freedom of means freedom to do something. It is the lack of constraints on behavior. Freedom from means immunity from discrimination and it comes close to the concept of equality. Order is viewed in one sense as preserving life and protecting property. Few people would argue the need for order. • 26. Daniel Levinson s Theory Of Middle Adulthood Middle adulthood refers to the time period between 45 and 65, in which adults have settled down and are now contemplating their place in the world. It s during middle adulthood that adults now are faced with the effort of passing on something meaningful to future generations. The theories associated with middle adulthood describe the different aspects that are important during middle adulthood, from personality developmentto vital relationships. Examining these aspects can help one to gain a better understanding of the development that occurs during middle adulthood. One theory that describes the way in which personality develops during this time is Erikson s theory. Erikson s theory refers to middle adulthood as the stage of generativity versus stagnation; generativity describes the passing on of a legacy from one generation to the next, where stagnation is the lack of passing on such a legacy. Generativity can be accomplished by bearing offspring, guiding and nurturing children, and passing on life skills and culture. It s during this stage that adults try to lead the next generation by teaching, guiding, and participating in activities that benefit the community (Santrock, 2017, pg. 487). Another theory associated with personality during middle age is Daniel Levinson s Seasons of a Man s Life. It is simpler to consider the effects of local anaesthetics on the body and the effects of opioid tolerance separately. When neurons in the body are stimulated they send signals, in the form of action potentials, to the brain relaying messages. These tell the body how to respond. This is why, for example, the body recognises a feeling of pain when it is wounded. During this stimulation, there occurs an opening of activation gates of voltage sensitive sodium channels. This allows sodium to enter the cell, reducing the cell s negative charge. When a full action potential is generated, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Asymmetrical Communication happens when professionals seek to pursue their publics into changing their opinions about certain things. The authors conclude that moving to a nurse workforce in which a higher proportion of staff nurses have at least a baccalaureate level education would result in substantially fewer adverse outcomes for patients. ... Luke quotes the Christ as saying, all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. (Acts 7) The Tabernacle and the Temple Christians argue that even the Tabernacle of Moses and the Temple of Solomon testify about Christ. The author of the book of Hebrews tells us why God s patterns for the Tabernacle were so precise and specific: Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us (Hebrews 9:23 24). The Tabernacle is a partial reflection of heaven. Evangelist and author, Theodore Epp, illustrates in his book, Portraits of Christ in the Tabernacle, that every single item and area in the Tabernacle foreshadowed Christian truths. He bases several connections on the structure of the temple. The open Outer Court, the semi restricted Holy Place, and the exclusive Holy of Holies are compared to man s body, soul, and spirit; Jesus claim to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the system by which one comes to approach God. (10 21) One should consider God s intent for the Tabernacle in the first place: Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them (Exodus 25:8) The purpose of the Tabernacle was so that God may have a place to dwell among His people. Consumption is viewed as significantly powerful force in the economy and therefore understanding consumption and consumer culture is a vitally important resource both for the benefit of the economyand the individual. Consumer culture theory aims to understand the behaviours and attitudes of consumers from a sociological perspective, as opposed the economic mindset in which consumer culture is usually viewed. Individuals use possession to create and maintain identity, however the identity an individual creates through consumption of goods can not always be controlled (Friedman, 2005). An obvious example being clothing, an individual may purchase clothing that they believe makes them look fashionable but the items could in fact cause other to perceive them as unfashionable and out of date. The value of items is created by consumers through the meanings they attach to said items. companies can try to influence the meanings attached to items but the overall meaning and value attached to items is by the individual (McCracken, 1986). This also means that different items can have different cultural value and meanings to different individuals. some items may have no external value but have very significant value to an individual, for example family heirlooms or photos. this personal value however does not transfer between individuals and while some items may hold strong value for an individual the item itself is not a commodity that can be exchanged and retain its value (Howard, 1999). gift exchange is an important aspect of consumer culture, gift exchange involves the idea of reciprocity. Darwin published a book that was titled On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life, (typically called The Origin of Species). Published in 1859, this book caused a great dispute in the world of science. You see, in his book Darwin was just trying to answer an age old question How Did We Get Here? without ever referring to a supernatural creator. This book shocked the science community. The big beaked birds could crack a shell of an egg, while the small beaked birds could only eat insects. What does this prove? They are a good example of micro evolution. Darwin compared domestic the domesticated versions of many animals with that of their wild counterparts. Example. Wild dogs behaved different from domesticated dogs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to a 2012 BBC article, women s involvement in combat zones has increased due to indistinct battle lines during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, in which it has become less and less possible to keep women out of combat conditions, has resulted in a loosening of limitations for women serving in the US military. While women are not yet allowed to serve in frontline combat, the eased limits have increased their opportunities for both occupational advancement and proving their worth in combat positions. Additionally, once a soldier has received suitable training, and meets the requirements for frontline duty, any combatant should, ideally, do what he or she was trained for, despite his or her sex. Clearly then, whoever chooses to, or is chosen to be on frontlines has likely steeled their emotions allowing for appropriate functional performance. Opponents to women in combat contend females require supplementary accommodations based on sex distinctions, such as menstrual cycles, pregnancies, and restroom accommodations, and as such, women will disrupt the efficacy of the military unit. While pregnancy is certainly a possibility for many female soldiers, it is doubtful that a woman dedicated to obtaining a combat position would allow herself to become pregnant, thus jeopardizing her hard work toward martial occupational expansion. Investment casting produces products that have good surface quality and high spatial accuracy. It is advantageous for parts with more complex shapes or materials that are difficult to form. This method involves seven steps and results in the preliminary shapes of the femoral and tibial parts. 1. Wax Pattern Production Wax patterns function to shape the cavity within the mold. Though it is called a wax pattern, the pattern may also include materials such as wax, stearic acid, plastic and other industrial chemicals [3]. There are two ways to produce a wax pattern. For both, a wax cylinder is first taken from heat preservation equipment and placed on a hydraulic die casting machine to remove any air or geocerite from the wax. In one process, the wax is then poured into the mold and swirled around until the inner surface is covered with an even coating. This is repeated until an appropriate thickness is reached. The second method is to pressure inject the liquid wax into an aluminum mold. The mold is then turned upside down so the liquid wax is removed and the remaining wax layer is left to cool and harden. 2. Wax Pattern Assembly In order to improve productivity, workers usually assemble multiple patterns on a holder made of wax. They are held together with melted wax, producing a pattern tree so that many wax patterns can be made at once. Patterns with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Analysis Of The Film Sankofa For people of African descent, both in America and abroad, the questions and facts of enslavement in the New World carry heavy questions of blame, assessment, wonder, and humiliation. For contemporary citizens of the Americas, those diasporic questions are borne of race, morality, disenfranchisement, and economic enforcement, raising larger questions centered in shared cultural experience. Conspicuously, if film, as art, is to be looked at as a cultural artifact, then black independent film and the recounting of black lived experiences can be seen as artistic markers of racial progress, evidenced identity, and the claim to self definition, leading to questions centered on the ways in which meaning is made of cultural experience as it is represented and shared. It is to these questions that the film Sankofa (Gerima, 1994) addresses itself. Sankofa is not simply a slave movie in the Hollywood sense of films like Amistad (Spielberg, 1997), Django Unchained (Tarrantino, 2012), 12 Years a Slave (McQueen, 2013), Band of Angels Walsh (1957), or Gone With the Wind (Fleming, 1939). We learn by what the dark words say on the bright pages. Authors that write traditional textbooks are not really singled out in terms of recognition among individuals. To ensure and sustain enthusiasm and investment for the war, those in power turned to the concept of propoganda and spin. WWI effected everyone, even those not fighting, so the propaganda displayed was an attempt to boost moral and interest. To do so, governments were able to utilize new technologies, spreading these ideas faster and to a more broad audience. Those newly aquired techniques have swept over this world and are still used today, some in more severe manners. This corresponds to the transitional phrase of the preceding section on the salvation of the gentiles, So I ask, (thesis points to previou section) Awkward sentence construction (v.11) One could interpret this use of transitional phrases as a series of points stemming from the main argument that Israel is still God s elect and will attain salvation through the Gentiles according to God s plan. Within this text, an important conceptual link is this emphasis on all of Israel . The Elijah narrative in the beginning of chapter 11, portrays God granting mercy on the people of Israel even though they have persecuted his prophets and desecrated the altars of God s temple. However, those who are shown mercy are those 7,000 people who have not worshipped Baal. Paul expands upon this by stating that So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. (v.5) The remanent pertains to the Jewish Christians of Paul s time. However, two sections later, Paul makes an argument that all of Israel, even those who have disobeyed God, will attain salvation and mercy. The previous four innings went smoothly with the opponent only getting four hits. My confidence level was high, three more innings and we will be walking out of here with a win. But, going through the four, five, six batters will be a major obstacle. As the game proceeds, I am getting more and more nervous every pitch. As I released my go to pitch, I thought it would blow right by the hitter. But I thought wrong. The 6 3, 200 pounder cranked the ball down the right field line for a stand up triple. My hope in the matter of a split second went down the drain. With my confidence level at its all time low, all I wanted to do was take a seat. I knew that was not an option. But the road is not getting easier, as the 6 3, 200 pounders brother approached the plate. I knew I had to strike him out in order to have any chance at winning this game. My second pitch of the inning, gone, out of the park. I just ruined an amazing performance by our entire team in the matter of 2 pitches. I felt as if my team lost all hope. From that point on, the game was over. On the bus ride home, everyone was acting like their normal selves. Like we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Four Learning Methods In Aid Of Learning Learning Assets In considerations for the various new techniques that have been added to the classroom in aid of learning, the four learning assets I have chosen to infuse are the lecture, videos, discussion/blogs and a test/ quiz component. The vision is that the setup will improve operations and enhance learning. The current LMS is supported by the technical department on staff. The video embedding will avoid trainees and students from having to hyperlink to another page and working through expired links or browser issues. The lectures will be recorded, so they will be able to be viewed off site. The lectures for the most part will be synchronous, with breaks for note taking and a question and answer period. The dialog will not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The goal is for the lecture to be a synchronous event. Happening at the various sites at a set time. The other components would be asynchronous. Giving individuals to go over the material in a more remote setting that may work better for them, yet still giving them access to the instructor if they are unclear about any part of the material. Nian shing (2006) explains that synchronous learning environments, provide savings in terms of time and cost, in many situations they can also outperform both asynchronous online instruction and traditional face‐to‐face . The hope is that the flexibility and options would prove helpful for the learners. Just like the video and discussion, the test portion being asynchronous would allow for the learners to operate under their best elements and results would be best then rather forcing all learners to operate under the same mechanism. Goals By the end of the training sessions members of His and Her should be able to: 1)List vision and mission of the company. 2)Create concise and effective lesson plans. 3)Pass all modules on compliance requirements for students with disabilities classrooms. 4)Be familiar with workplace behavior and guidelines 5)Display a firm understanding of First Aid and Safety measures. A simple blog or discussion would suffice for our first two curriculum objectives. The individuals would just need to show their comprehension of these, not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
