Ketchup Bottle Analysis
Everything seems to be cheaper in bulk and pretty recently, everyone seems to be catching on. With
the help of retail stores like Costco and Sam s Club, buying in bulk has become easier than ever for
any one. Taking less frequent shopping trips to the grocery store and saving gas seems convenient,
until you have a set of 15 large ketchup bottles that expire in two weeks and have three of them sitting
on the counter next to the stainless steel stain remover by the stove because of a lack of space in the
pantry. Of course, there are some instances where buying in bulk is reasonable. A pack of 15 large
ketchup bottles could be very well bought for a restaurant owner who wishes to have a ketchup bottle
at each table of his restaurant, or for

Why Use Bloom Taxonomy In Lesson Planning
Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning
Introduction
Bloom Taxonomy is a useful planning tool for teachers. It contains of six cognitive domains, which
are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply,
analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in
lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency.
Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs
of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom
taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide
range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains
of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of
learning. According to Shabatura (2013), Before you can understand a concept, you must remember it.
To apply a concept you must first understand it. In order to evaluate a process, you must analyze it. To
create a conclusion, you must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without Bloom taxonomy in lesson planning, the teacher will only rely on one domain rather it is
remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, or creating. If that happens, students
will never expand their level of thinking skills throughout their entire school life. So, it is important to
utilize bloom taxonomy in lesson planning. However, Bloom taxonomy can also raise the teacher s
expectation of students based on their level of proficiency. This is where teachers began to use more
advance questions to assess students understanding of a

Solution Essay On World Hunger
First of all, what exactly causes the global hunger crisis and what has been put in place to help fix this
problem? The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this world
faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs. (Business
Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough food for the estimated 10 billion people in
the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report by Business Insider,
statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the problem of world
hunger is harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food availability. Food
availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of food has deteriorated in
part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising domestic food prices (BI). This
makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an entire season of crops could be
ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to get it. The drought has caused
remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that the poor population cannot get the
food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food production is that the men that are
supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and country to eat either have to stop what
they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war efforts. The latter takes

Bed Bath And Beyond Case Analysis
There are many elements that affect price in the market place. This includes the demand for the
product, how quickly it is sold, and competitor s prices, price sensitivity, and generic versus more
expensive products. Producers are constantly attempting to improve their technology to make
production more efficient. Higher efficiency helps companies maintain pace with consumer demand
(Zacks Equity Research, 2017). This also allows them to produce the same amount of a particular
product for less, resulting in a larger net profit (Zacks Equity Research, 2017). Due to technological
advancements, workers now are producing 47 percent more than 20 years ago (West, 2016).
Considering Bed Bath Beyond sells mostly bed and bathroom products, they have many competitors.
They are in constant competition with other companies such as Target, Walmart and Amazon, which
can force them to raise their prices (Hampton, 2017). However recent research has found that Bed
Bath Beyond sells products at a cheaper price than Amazon (Kim, 2013). This is an advantage for Bed
Bath Beyond since their prices (for some products) are lower, customers would be more inclined to
purchase from them. Additionally, customers are continually looking for the best offers, deals, and
ways to conserve their money while shopping. Bed Bath Beyond has created an incentive for their
shoppers to purchase from their store as opposed to any other called the price match policy (Bed Bath
Beyond, 2017a). This

Tips for Good Print Design
Student Network Resources Inc. Some factors to consider for good print design are accurate use of
bleeds, edges, cropping, color, and elements of typography. Text should not be cut off or flowing over
into the folding of brochures or the next newsletter columns. Print layout and design elements must
meet in order to produce excellent advertising copy. Bleeding Bleeding occurs when a design element
such as print or an image extends further than the edge of the margins or page. Sometimes this can be
intended for effect, but is viewed as unprofessional if unintentional (Graphic Fetish, 2009). Cropping
Crop marks, cropping is an element used to trim off the unnecessary parts of a picture image, or page.
The crop marks are the cutting lines that are guides to setting areas being cut. Color Schemes Color
can draw or detract from a print design. Using complementary colors in print can give warmth and an
inviting feel to the print or it can bore the audience (Graphic Fetish, 2009). Understanding how to
properly use color is important in reaching an audience or highlighting the capture of an eventful
moment (Wildfire.com, 2012). Typography design refers to how the printed material is laid out. Is the
print copy effective in relaying the message to the audience or does it disrupt or interfere with the
message (Kyrnin, 2012). The lack of proper consideration of such factors will result in unattractive
spacing issues that show up when the design is flattened out or

Swing Dance In The 1930 s
There are so many styles of dance that came together to eventually evolve into what swing dance is
today. In the early 20 s and 30 s there was the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag and the Charleston. Some of
these dance forms such as the Lindy Hop and the Charleston started as an eight count done in four
steps then it evolved in the 1930 s to an eight count with 10 steps. During this time swing dance had
some substantial changes due to music and regional influences.
At the start of the 40 s the era of Big Bands became very popular and swing dance was easily adapted
to this style of music giving that fast percussion beats in this genre. It brought about new styles such
as the St.Louis shag and the Carolina shag and even stayed very popular till the end of the 1940 s.
In the 1950 s after WWII brought about the rebellious generation that sparked the creation of Rock

The Struggle Over Kashmir, By Mohandas Gandhi
Introduction
The name Kashmir has become synonymous with slaying, destruction and religious massacre in South
Asia. Ever since the partition of India in 1947, when Britain dismantled its Indian empire, India and
Pakistan have been archrivals. What makes this conflict interesting, conversely, is how much they hate
one another. The hostility between these two has been rooted not only in religion and history, but is
exemplified by the long running battle over the control of Jammu and Kashmir. Which has recently
intensified into a treacherous nuclear arms race.
How the conflict arose?
In order to completely understand the struggle over Kashmir, it is important to understand the history
of this longtime conflict. During the early 1900 s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In just a period of four days over 5,000 people were killed during religious riots in the Indian city of
Calcutta. After the partition of India and Pakistan, to stop Kashmir from being a part of India, Pakistan
invaded them and tried to gain control. The Maharaja of Kashmir at the time fled to India and offered
a deal to let Kashmir be under Indian control if India would defend Kashmir from further invasion.
India agreed and immediately sent out troops to fight off the Pakistani invaders. Per the agreement, the
Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir makes up about 45% of Kashmir. Pakistan controls three areas
known as Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan, which make up about 35% of Kashmir. Finally, China
controls one area called Aksai Chin equaling to 20% of Kashmir. The people of Kashmir have the
same rights and privileges as any Indian citizen. The government of India has built schools, hospitals
and police stations for the Kashmiri people. But, the people of Kashmir preferred to be a part of
Pakistan due to their Islamic beliefs. Pakistan does not acknowledge the control of Kashmir by India
and still considers it their land.
Conflict
The most significant issue that divides these longtime rivals is not just nuclear arms or religious
beliefs. But also with the two most essential human needs: water and protection. The water that

Organizational Culture Is The Key Values, Beliefs And...
Organizational Culture:
Organizational Culture is the key values, beliefs and attitudes shared by the members of an
organization. Organizational culture includes an organization s expectations, experiences, philosophy,
and values that hold it together, and is expressed in its self image, inner workings, interactions with
the outside world, and expectations for the future. A key source of organizational culture is usually its
founder. It can be sustained by creating and spreading organizational stories and organizational heroes.
London Drugs has had a strong culture since it was founded 70 years ago. Their culture was originally
focused on entrepreneurship and is very original. A big part of their culture focuses on taking care of
their people and helping out communities. London drugs does this by providing family assistance
program to its employees. An example of this family assistance program is where employees are
helped during their hard times like funerals. Keeping the environment clean is another important
element of London Drugs culture. They have created the What s the Green Deal? program, which
ensures everything in the company is done in a way which does not harm the environment. According
to the Vice President of London Drugs, the best part of the company s culture is that you get a very

Is Victor A Hero In Frankenstein
What does it mean to be a hero? The definition of a hero from the dictionary is a person noted for
courageous acts or nobility of character. However, this definition does not cover all of what it means
to be a hero is; for instance, a hero needs to also be educated, compassionate, and have other personal
and physical traits. Victor, from the novel Frankenstein, is the hero in the novel. On the other hand,
Victor doesn t meet all of the criteria of being a hero, but he is a better choice than the other characters
in the book. To summarize, being a hero means more than what it is portrayed as in its definition, and
Victor is a hero, but does not have all of the traits that most heroes do. There are many traits that
contribute to being a hero. For instance, a hero needs to be courageous, fearless, daring, brave,

How Steel Helped Civilizations
Steel helped civilizations like the Fertile Crescent, Eurasia, and Spain develop and improve farming
and battle skills, allowing them to appropriate resources and develop massively.
Four things were needed to make steel: time, specialists, the ability to burn hot fires, and iron.
Semi arid places with four seasons, like the Fertile Crescent, Eurasia, and Spain were able to grow
wheat and sustain domestic animals like horses, pigs, cows, sheep, and goats. Enough food for a
civilization allowed specialists to develop. Perfecting the process of metallurgy was difficult, tedious
work, specialists/ironmongers and extra time were necessary to developing steel technologies. The

Dog Heart Colonialism
In Dog Heart by Diana McCaulay, aspects of colonialism are apparent throughout the book; even
though Jamaica is an independent nation and is no longer under British Colonial rule, colonialism has
embedded itself deep within the framework of the country, politically and culturally. The most notable
act of colonialism in Dog Heart was the policing of language; the assimilation of the Jamaican people
to Standard English and the condemnation of speaking Patois. By writing Dexter s point of view in
Dog Heart in Jamaican Patois, McCaulay challenges the misconception, created by colonialism, of
Jamaican patois being the language of the undesirable.

McCaulay shows us through Dexter s point of view, which is all in Patois, that people s view him isn t
necessarily reflective of who he is as a person, and the stereotypes held by Jamaicans about certain

this understanding wouldn t be available to us if we only had Sahara s point of view. Caribbean
literature can help, and I believe is helping, strengthen cultural competency, while also improving how
Caribbean s view themselves and their history, and serves as a force of resistance to the colonial
standards that fixed itself into Caribbean society. Slowly, this newfound self awareness and cultural
pride that comes from knowing and accepting Caribbean roots can lead to building stronger Caribbean
identity where languages such as Jamaican Patois can be appreciated and be considered a standard

Sight Word Bingo Game Analysis
Wednesday, January 4, 2017 /Sight Word Bingo/ 40 min
Before starting the game of Bingo, the teacher reviewed some of the trickier sight words such as funny
and play. Then the teacher instructed the students to do their best to search for the word. It was evident
they were familiar with the game because they set aside bingo chips and were prepared to play. As the
game began, the children were excited, but were able to keep up to find each word called. After about
two or three rounds, a student called out, BINGO! If a student won a round they flipped their card
around and played another round with different words. This was an effective way to have the students
who have already won, still play the game. The game s purpose was to review and implement new
sight words that the students were expected to know such as the word that `. When a student called out
BINGO, they needed to read their words to the class, which also assessed the child s fluency and
accuracy of reading the words by sight.

Compare And Differences Of The Hebrew Bible
The Hebrew Bible (Tanak), the Protestant Christian, and Catholic Orthodox Old Testaments share
many similarities, as well as significant differences. The similarities are simple: they each start with
the same five books, and contain largely the same writings of wisdom, history and prophecy. In the
following paragraphs, I ll focus on the ways that the three groups sacred texts are different in structure
and purpose.
The Tanak is named for the first letters of its three its three main sections: Torah, Nevi im, and
Ketuvim. The Torah is the first five books of the Bible, each named for the first words in them:
Bereshit, Shemot, Vayikra, Bamidbar and D varim. The Torah (Hebrew for guidance or instruction )
begins with the story of Creation, continues through the formation of the twelve tribes of Israel, and
outlines the system of laws that organizes Jewish society. The next section is the Nevi im, which are
the writings involving the former latter prophets: Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah,
Ezekiel, and The Twelve. Overall, these books discuss and attempt to understand the struggles exile of
Israel and Judah. The third section of the Tanak is the Ketuvim, which translates as writings, which
focus on restoration of the ideal society and what life was like for the people of the time.
In ancient times, the order of these books was not at issue, as they were written on scrolls. After codex
books were invented in the 1st century C.E., it became

Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates
In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air normally inhaled, while
the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In this experiment, a round balloon is utilized
to measure both the tidal volume and the lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible
factors impacting the vital capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an
impact on vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more room
for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled, resulting in increased lung
capacity.
Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position, expansion
Introduction
In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located in the chest cavity
and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia
Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and
out of the lungs can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as
Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be established. Lung capacity
can be measured either using a spirometer (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round
balloon. The amount of air inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult,
tidal volume is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs

Analyzing Beyoncé s Countdown
I can remember when Beyoncé first released Countdown, it was monumental because she was telling

We chose this song to represent the Sophomore class and we created a used a dance that we found
online. The new choreography was a bit harder than what was being done in the video but we made it
work. In addition to using the song for Homecoming, I always liked the music video to it because of
the color pop and quick movements. It never crossed my mind that this music video was a rendition of
a dance movie/video that was created before. After watching Rosas then Countdown, it changed my
appreciation for the work overall.
With being instructed to watch Rosas by Keersmaker first, I immediately had a feeling that the two
videos were similar in how they looked. For the first five minutes for Rosas, the dancers were just

individuality with all of the dancers including Beyoncé, for the most part, they all had on different

investment, especially in high tech, has made China one of the biggest market for the sale and
licensing of IPR products. During the period 1993 to 1997 alone, high tech related foreign investments
in China has reached a total of $185.8 billion.2 However, IPR protection in China is still way behind
US. The most common problem is piracy. Software piracy refers to the illegal or unauthorized copying
of software. In a sense it is ethical equivalent to pirates attacking ships in public water. The
International Intellectual Property Alliance estimates that millions of pirated DVDs worth $160
million, and $47 million worth of fake CDs and cassettes were sold in China in 2001, 6 In this paper
two cases will be analyzed in ethical and legal perspectives of patent and piracy.

Butler s Writings In The Classroom, By Judith Butler
Anyone who has ever attempted to read any literature written by gender theorist, Judith Butler, knows
how much of a struggle it is to decode her main points. Even after taking three gender studies courses,
reading multiple articles, and analyzing portions from her books, I still have a difficult time
comprehending just exactly what Judith Butler is stating. One cannot simply read her writing once and
expect fully understand her points. If you say can, then you are lying. I would describe Butler s
writing style as elegantly confusing. Her vast vocabulary and placement of words is so exquisite, that
her message seems to dissipate. The trick to understanding Butler (at least the trick that has somewhat
worked for me) is reading through her writings repeatedly and intensely examining every single word
she wrote. In this essay, I reflect on Judith Butler s writings and express how I understand those
writings in relation to my own life experiences. Our we assigned our gender at birth, or do we perform
one based on the values that we have learned? Butler explores this question in her article, Critically
Queer. According to Butler, gender is not based off of our biological sex at all; rather gender is
performative (Pg. 21, Par. 4, 1993). This is one of Butler s theories that always seems to find its way
into Gender Studies courses and confuses the heck out of me; because there is a difference between
gender being performed and gender being performative. Saying gender is a

Jack Johnsons Relationship
As the boats came in, the men were all shivering at the result of fear, except for the rare few who were
willing to die for their country. Jack Johnsons was one of the most patriotic people on the boats, his
almost opposite Benjamin Patrick , who is a cowardice man and not brave what so ever. Jack dislikes
most people who do not wish to serve their country in Gallipoli. Jack Johnson and Benjamin Patrick
were on the first boats to enter the beaches, before they were noticed by the Turkish Soldiers. Jack and
Ben were just some of the people who had helped build the trenches. Once they had settled down
Benjamin met someone by the name of Toby and started a conversation about how horrible it is there
and how Ben is coming with an idea to get himself discharged, although Toby had told Ben that being
a deserter will ruin the family name, while also being charged with treason if anyone were to learn
about your actions. After this, Ben had tried to change the subject, Have you heard? General Birdwood
is stealing extra rations once Toby had realised what he was trying to do, he had just walked away and
ignored Ben. Benjamin later started to brainstorm on how he would be able to be discharged on a
piece of worn out paper, although didn t put his name on it. Jack had later found the plans and
suspected one of the members of the platoon are going to purposely injure themselves with the
intention to be relieved of duty. Jack at first suspected Toby as he didn t think Benjamin had the balls
to be shot, especially if it meant he was going to do it on purpose. After Jack had made this
assumption, he confronted Toby; saying, Are you the one planning on abandoning your brothers
soldier?! , Toby had then replied, I don t know what you re talking about Jack, remind me , I found
your plans to leave you coward , Toby chuckled in reply to this statement and said, This is hilarious,
they re probably Bens... , Jack yelled across the trenches IS THIS TRUE PATRICK?! , Yes sir... Ben
had replied. Jack walked towards ben in a threatening manner, as if he was about to throw punch, and
he was, he cocked his arm back, and swang as hard as possible, although his arm was caught by a
private who had been observing the argument.

Social Justice Issue Of Suicide Prevention Essay
For this online assignment, I am going to be focusing on the social justice issue of suicide prevention.
This is a social justice issue because it affects the community as a whole, not just the person who is
experiencing suicidal ideation. Looking at the issue from the bigger picture can help to establish more
effective prevention methods.
Question #1 I would give myself a rating of 9 with how willing I am to allow the issue of suicide
prevention to be questioned and refuted by scientific evidence. Through my experience, which I will
talk about in the next question, most of the work that goes into organized suicide prevention efforts is
based off of research. With the combination of this knowledge, my personal experience working with
suicide prevention/crisis counseling, and my fierce passion for mental health and suicide prevention, I
would have no problem allowing the use of scientific evidence when looking at and/or refuting the
issue of suicide prevention.
Question #2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My knowledge of suicide prevention comes from what I have been taught or told, personal experience,
and research I have done for various classes. I am trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention
Skills Training), which I know was developed and backed by research. Most of what I have learned
about suicide prevention has been taught to me based on research not necessarily me spending time on
my own researching. I have researched several articles pertaining to suicide prevention, but most of
those have been for research papers I have been working on for classes. A few times, though, I have
looked up scientific evidence pertaining to suicide prevention on my own. I am not a big fan of the
research process, honestly, so taking time to do it recreationally is a huge deal for

Television Shows Based Around Family Life
Television shows based around family life have been around for many years. Back in the 1980 s and
1990 s, TV show families were more conservative, taught lessons ,didn t curse at each other, and
always seemed perfect . In todays age, shows show a plethora of technology, use slang, cursing, and
inappropriate jokes. The show Full House is your typical traditional family oriented television show.
The plot of the show comprised a husband and his three kids, D.J, Stephanie, and Michelle.Their
mother got killed in a tragic car accident leaving the husband,Danny Tanner, his best friend Joey and
brother in law Jesse to help raise the kids. Even though they don t have a mother figure to help raise
the family, they all work together to live a normal, happy, healthy life. On the contrast the show Bob s
Burgers is a cartoon that also shares a family orientation, but shows it in a more modern way. The
twenty first century show starts off with a family of five, A mother named Linda, Bob (The husband)
and their three kids, Louise, Tina and Gene. The family owns a restaurant called Bobs Burgers (which
they also live in) and goes about their everyday lives. Each episode introduces a problem a family
member goes through, whether its at school, the restaurant, or elsewhere. In the end they always
resolve it and this teaches a valuable lesson through family development, comic relief, and learned
morals. The first show, Full house aired its first episode in 1987 starting with Our

The Grapes of Wrath Essays
The Grapes of Wrath The Grapes of Wrath is set in the horrible stage of our American history, the
Depression. Economic, social, and historical surroundings separate the common man of America into
basically the rich and poor. A basic theme is that man turns against one another in a selfish pride to
only protect themselves. For example, the landowners create a system in which migrants are treated
like animals and pushed along from one roadside camp to the next. They are denied decent wages and
forced to turn against their fellow scramblers to simply survive. The Grapes of Wrath tells the story of
two types of families in that the Joads are a factual one and the body of migrant workers as the other.

Tom, though, is a very complicated individual who turns out to be a tremendous asset and burden to
the family. His parole causes the family an unneeded worry, but does get work that helps the family.
He is the main protagonist for his family and the main follower of Jim Casy s philosophy on human
nature. Jim is much more of a talker and idealist, and he actually puts what he preached into action.
Jim Casy is frequently compared with Jesus Christ and his lifestyle of preaching and leading people.
As well as sacrificing himself for Tom and the Joad family which upholds his common held belief.
Tom carries Jim s message after his death and aids others with it. The Joad family, along with Jim
Casy, shows the benefit of people uniting in order to accomplish goals and this is a lesson that the
reader can take away from this novel. The setting is so important to the novel because it sets the role
and background of the characters. View of the Depression then come from a man just off of parole or a
grandfather who is getting old and to weak to be the backbone of the family. The Depression that has
hit nailed the common man and jobs are scarce. This is the binding factor between everyone in the
novel that most people are down in the dumps. The main theme of the book is the character of people
in that time. How people bonded and rejected one another in a time of such hardship and
demoralization. I think every character played a part in the

To maximise foreign exchange earnings efficiency, countries where imports are attained from should
be targeted for tourism promotion, so as to allow influx of there currency. E.g. if most of the
mechanical imports come from Switzerland the government usually has to source Swiss Francs. This
can be done by targeting Swiss tourists.

held Khadr for a period of ten years (from 2002 2012). During this time, Canada did not fulfill its
obligation to protect Omar Khadr and his rights. Canada failed to protect Khadr and his rights during
three instances: Firstly, during the rough interrogation that involved various types of torture Canada
did not speak up for Khadr nor did they fight for his rights. Secondly, Canada did not request for the

pressure on the US to release extradite the prisoners back to their home countries. Canada had not
asked nor demanded for this, it seems as though Canada was supporting the US s treatment of Khadr.
Canada had to take back Khadr once it was publicized that he was being tortured almost every day. In
addition to this, Prime Minister Stephen Harper had confidence that the US military would try Khadr
in a fair manner, but obviously he was wrong as Khadr was forced to sign an unfair plea that would
basically force him into Canada. Dennis Edney Khadr s former lawyer states He has fought for close
to eight years to get a pair of protective glasses to preserve the amount of sight remaining in Omar s
one eye with vision. He received them in November of last year. That is the extent of the help Omar
has received from the Canadian government, they can t even get him a pair of glasses. (Edney 5).
Khadr was going blind in Guantanamo and requested a pair of glasses for eight years. Canada did not
comply and didn t even speak to Guantanamo about getting Khadr glasses; instead, they let the US
treat the Canadian citizen very harshly and not even provide him with a pair of glasses. Canada did not
care about Khadr instead they just let the US deal with him unfairly. Canada should have been more
involved in the treatment of Khadr and should not have supported the US while they were violating
Khadr. Unlike the other countries such Britain and Australia Canada did not pressure the US to
extradite Khadr. In addition to this, they stood by the US s strong torture methods due to the fact that
Canada did not speak up when Khadr was sent to Guantanamo, even though Guantanamo was famous
for torturing its prisoners.

The Problem Of The Brazilian Army
The problem the Brazilian Army is facing can bring serious problems for the formation and the
training of Artillery Soldiers. Due to the amount of Artillery materials, the size of the country, and the

in order to avoid a collapse in the Artillery systems. The tendency is that they increase, since the

Fanon Black Skin White Masks Black Skin and Hegel Self Consciousness
In this experience self consciousness learns that life is essential to it as pure self consciousness. One
(self consciousness) is self sufficient; for it, its essence is being for itself. The other is non self
sufficient, for it, life, that is, being for an other, is the essence. The former is the master, the latter is
the servant (Hegel 189). Hegel suggests in the dialectic that there is coherence between subject and

Hegel s Phenomenology of Spirit (1807) provides master slave dialectic that reflects his ideas on

of itself by presence and recognition of itself by an other. Hegel s exposition reveals how the process

Quantitative Research Chapter 3
CHAPTER 3 RESEARCH METHODS
3.1 Research Approach
There are two research approaches that researchers have to consider in conducting a research. Those
are quantitative and qualitative research. While both approaches become standards for conducting a
research, both approaches have major differences in answering research questions and gathering the
valid data.
Quantitative research can be described as an approach to which it explains a phenomenon expressed in
numerical data and analyzed by using mathematically based statistical tools (Aliaga and Gunderson,
2000). As a conclusive research, quantitative research emphasizes what are the causes of the
phenomenon, assuming people to have fixed factors to which it causes a phenomenon. Moreover,
quantitative approach is more limited, emphasized only on measuring the quantity of phenomenon
instead of describing it. Thus, quantitative research has less statistical tools compare to qualitative
research. However, it has several advantages such as more time and cost saving.
Regarding to this research, the author decides to use quantitative research in conducting a research.
The reason why the author chooses quantitative research is because this research is more emphasized
on what considerations that people make in buying an automobile. Moreover, the author assumes that

The Influence Of Vampires
The popularity of vampires in films has increased dramatically over the past decade or so. Films such
as Van Helsing, Fright night and Twilight have all paved the way for a new type of vampire that
appeals to the audience for several different reasons. Leaving a lot of the traditional vampire traits
behind, these films have created a new attractive vampire and in the case of twilight, a vampire that
has feelings and emotions and does not want to drink human blood. These more modern vampires are
not only more appealing to the viewer; they are also signifiers of the modern culture in which we live
in today.
The film Van Helsing was directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Hugh Jackman playing a more
modern adaptation of the title character, Abraham ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Van Helsing, the three brides of Dracula are strikingly beautiful women and Jerry the vampire in
Fright Night is very handsome, and this fact is remarked by the female characters in the film on
several occasions. The fact that these new modern vampires are seen as very sexual and extremely
attractive individuals shows that the modern audience of the 21st century needs to be visually
stimulated in more ways than one. The saying sex sells does indeed apply here. Along with being
stimulated visually by the camera effects of these movies, audiences like looking at people who are
attractive. This attractiveness adds to the appeal of vampires even more as they are becoming sexier,
more enticing and even more alluring.
Taking the aforementioned points into account, another vampire phenomenon which has hit the 21st
century must be discussed. The Twilight Saga, which shows vampires in almost a completely different
light, has swept across the world and has gathered a very strong and loyal fan base. In Twilight,
vampires are seen to have feelings and emotion, and they also want to abstain from drinking human
blood, well the majority do. Here, vampires are stepping away from the traditional
horror/fantasy/adventure genre and are stepping closer to the romance

Difference Between Cultural Relativism And Absolutism
Cultures vary in behavior, habits, attitudes, beliefs, languages, etc. Absolutism is regarded by
everyone and is not limited by anything. Relativism is regarded by everyone in the same manner such
that it is not limited by people, situations, time, or location. There are distinct anthropological facts
that support both cultural relativism and absolutism with respect to moral principles.
Moral principles within cultural relativism do vary and any given culture believe theirs is the true
moral value. Three anthropological facts outlined by relativism are as follows.
1. In relation to customs, manners, taboos, religions, moralities, habits, and attitudes there is a large
deviation between cultures.
2. Moral beliefs and attitudes within any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Citizens of a given culture believe that the moralities that they uphold and live by are the only true
morals.
Problems that may arise from relativism may occur when a particular cultures tries to enforce their
beliefs, values or laws onto another society or culture and condemn that culture for not adhering to
their moral values and punishing by engaging in terroristic threats or warfare. Further, a tradition may
be considered right or wrong in one culture but the opposite in another, since there is no superior
authority we cannot say whether any given tradition is indeed right or wrong.
Moral principles within cultural absolutism do not vary and all cultures follow the same moral values.
Four anthropological facts outlined by absolutism are as follows.
1. Principles of what is right and wrong are consistent across all cultures, including but not limited to
preservation of human life, honesty, respect for elders, sexual conduct, taking responsibility for
personal actions.
2. The needs of citizens are similar across all cultures; consumption of food and clean water, shelter,
sexual management.

Chemical Compounds And The Compounds
The unknown compound was solid at room temperature and was white. It was soluble in water, as
indicated by Table 1. Of the list of possible known compounds, the unknown could not be CaCO3 or
MgCO3 because neither one of those compounds are soluble in water, but it could have been any salt
as the compound is ionic. From there, a conductivity test proved that the unknown compound
conducted 1.1 volts of electricity, meaning the compound contained both positively and negatively
charged ions that move around to conduct the electricity.
Potassium Sulfate has a solubility of 1 g in 8.3 mL of water, which matches with the results of the
unknown being soluble in water (The Merck Index). Ionic compounds, a form of polar compounds,
are soluble in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The potassium ion has an emission spectrum that is mainly blue and purple, with some red and yellow
lines (Petty). Combined, they form or lilac, sometimes pinky lilac color. This is consistent with the
results of the experiment.
Some possible discrepancies did occur in the initial identification of the cation in the unknown. At first
the flame burned slightly orange, indicating the cation could have been sodium. But, with further
testing and the use of a filter, the flame burned light pinky purple multiple times after. This indicates
that the burner was not fully clean and trace amounts of sodium could have existed in the range of the
flame. With more thorough testing and comparison, the identification of the cation as potassium stands
true.
To test the anion present in the compound, the investigators mixed the unknown with other known
compounds and observed the resulting reactions. The first anion test was performed by mixing the
unknown solution and silver nitrate and then adding in ammonium. No precipitate was formed from
that reaction so the unknown compound could not be bromide or iodide. The second anion test was
performed by mixing the unknown solution with barium chloride. A milky white precipitate formed
from that mixture so the anion present in the unknown compound was sulfate.
When two ionic compounds are mixed, a double displacement reaction occurs. In this case, potassium
sulfate was mixed with barium chloride. The

To His Coy Mistress Annotations
In the first section of To His Coy Mistress, the speaker is attempting lure a woman to bed. The speaker
laments the lack of time for his mistress attempts at shyness and virtue, but he also he places great
emphasis on his love for her. Indeed, there is an overarching theme that time is short throughout the
entire poem, but in the first section, he focuses how infinitely his love could grow if time were
unlimited. He concludes this section by saying For, lady, you deserve this state, / Nor would I love at
lower rate (600). The final line here is especially interesting as rate again invokes thoughts of time.
The second section breaks the rhyme scheme of the poem. Up until this point, the scheme was AA,
BB, et cetera, but it is abandoned

The American Dream in The Lost Beautifulness and The...
The American Dream in The Lost Beautifulness and The Gilded Six Bits The America Dream is
defined in general as a dream of a land that is better richer for everyone based on accomplishment and
opportunity. This dream is usually sought after by people who have been deprived of their social and
human values. People who have not been able to achieve this dream based on restrictions of their
situations that plague their lives. These situations can be different for everyone, race, sex, handicap,
etc. My question is this goal obtainable? To me there is one thing that powers this dream a desire to be
of higher class, socially and financially. The one thing that drives this monster concept of the
American dream has always been around since the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This drive for her to feel like an American was drove from money. This ultimately put her on the street
after her landlord saw the good work that she did. Money the landlord knew he could charge extra
because the apartment was now in much better shape. In The Gilded Six Bits Joe, sees himself in a
similar situation which involved money. Joe had met a man by the name of Otis D. Slemmons who
had opened up an ice cream parlor down the street. Joe was quite impressed of the heavy set man with
hit gold teeth. Joe was talking about the man s big gut in quote: All rich mens is got some belly on em.
(Hurston 1521). Joe wanted the dream so bad that he even wanted a gut because all rich men had
them. This shows how money influences people to do whatever they can to make themselves higher in
society. The American dream is all about money, money is opportunity and money is accomplishment.
Joe was also later devastated by this monster of a dream, when he caught Otis in bed with his wife. Is
this what the dream is about tearing down everything you worked hard for all your life? Did Hanneh
really dream of being thrown into the street? Did Joe really dream of a big fat rich man sleeping with
his wife? In the end the power that both drove these people to realize what the American dream is was
money. They both wanted money and they both dreamed of money, and in the end it got the best of

greed can control one s life and cause great damage to others. Throughout the book, Ebenezer Scrooge
portrays a greedy nature which affects many people during his life. Scrooge lives day by day, enslaved
by his weakness and imprisoned by the poison of greed. Firstly, the clerk who works for him, Bob
Cratchit, is treated poorly and paid very little by Scrooge. Ebenezer Scrooge keeps most of the money
he makes to himself without paying his workers fairly. Bob Cratchit overworks yet gets underpaid
because of Scrooge s greed which affects his family s wellbeing. Secondly, Scrooge shows little

The Mind And The Body
The mind and the body are two different but unique essentials of an individual. Both the mind and the
body play an important role in an individual s life. From making decisions by using the brain, to being
able to sense all five senses from the body, both parts illustrate its importance of existence. In today s
society, the mind and the body have shown a connection between how an individual regulates his or
her own daily lifestyle. Although, it hasn t always been clear about how the mind and the body are
connected. In fact, back in the day, individuals didn t seem to understand the importance of the mind
and the body. Many philosophers, such as Descartes and Spinoza were two important contributors that
illustrated the importance of the mind. Both individuals had similar thinking, however, they both still
had different theories and ideas about the human mind and body. Even though science believes that
the mind and the body must work together, Descartes believed that the mind and the body are two
different essences that are conscious, and have their own regulations and ways of existing and can
exist on their own, and lastly, both the mind and the body have their own observational patterns.
Firstly, Descartes does have the right to hold that the mind and body are two completely separate
things, with different essences, as he has explained this by the argument that both the mind and the
body have their own conscious roles. According to Descartes, the mind will always be

It contains of six cognitive domains, which are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency. Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of learning. • 4. Solution Essay On World Hunger First of all, what exactly causes the global hunger crisis and what has been put in place to help fix this problem? The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this world faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs. (Business Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough food for the estimated 10 billion people in the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report by Business Insider, statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the problem of world hunger is harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food availability. Food availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of food has deteriorated in part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising domestic food prices (BI). This makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an entire season of crops could be ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to get it. The drought has caused remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that the poor population cannot get the food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food production is that the men that are supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and country to eat either have to stop what they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war efforts. The latter takes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Bed Bath And Beyond Case Analysis There are many elements that affect price in the market place. This includes the demand for the product, how quickly it is sold, and competitor s prices, price sensitivity, and generic versus more expensive products. Producers are constantly attempting to improve their technology to make production more efficient. Higher efficiency helps companies maintain pace with consumer demand (Zacks Equity Research, 2017). This also allows them to produce the same amount of a particular product for less, resulting in a larger net profit (Zacks Equity Research, 2017). Due to technological advancements, workers now are producing 47 percent more than 20 years ago (West, 2016). Considering Bed Bath Beyond sells mostly bed and bathroom products, they have many competitors. They are in constant competition with other companies such as Target, Walmart and Amazon, which can force them to raise their prices (Hampton, 2017). However recent research has found that Bed Bath Beyond sells products at a cheaper price than Amazon (Kim, 2013). This is an advantage for Bed Bath Beyond since their prices (for some products) are lower, customers would be more inclined to purchase from them. Additionally, customers are continually looking for the best offers, deals, and ways to conserve their money while shopping. Bed Bath Beyond has created an incentive for their shoppers to purchase from their store as opposed to any other called the price match policy (Bed Bath Beyond, 2017a). This ... • 6. Tips for Good Print Design Student Network Resources Inc. Some factors to consider for good print design are accurate use of bleeds, edges, cropping, color, and elements of typography. Text should not be cut off or flowing over into the folding of brochures or the next newsletter columns. Print layout and design elements must meet in order to produce excellent advertising copy. Bleeding Bleeding occurs when a design element such as print or an image extends further than the edge of the margins or page. Sometimes this can be intended for effect, but is viewed as unprofessional if unintentional (Graphic Fetish, 2009). Cropping Crop marks, cropping is an element used to trim off the unnecessary parts of a picture image, or page. The crop marks are the cutting lines that are guides to setting areas being cut. Color Schemes Color can draw or detract from a print design. Using complementary colors in print can give warmth and an inviting feel to the print or it can bore the audience (Graphic Fetish, 2009). Understanding how to properly use color is important in reaching an audience or highlighting the capture of an eventful moment (Wildfire.com, 2012). Typography design refers to how the printed material is laid out. Is the print copy effective in relaying the message to the audience or does it disrupt or interfere with the message (Kyrnin, 2012). The trick to understanding Butler (at least the trick that has somewhat worked for me) is reading through her writings repeatedly and intensely examining every single word she wrote. In this essay, I reflect on Judith Butler s writings and express how I understand those writings in relation to my own life experiences. Our we assigned our gender at birth, or do we perform one based on the values that we have learned? Butler explores this question in her article, Critically Queer. According to Butler, gender is not based off of our biological sex at all; rather gender is performative (Pg. 21, Par. 4, 1993). This is one of Butler s theories that always seems to find its way into Gender Studies courses and confuses the heck out of me; because there is a difference between gender being performed and gender being performative. • 23. Jack Johnsons Relationship As the boats came in, the men were all shivering at the result of fear, except for the rare few who were willing to die for their country. Jack Johnsons was one of the most patriotic people on the boats, his almost opposite Benjamin Patrick , who is a cowardice man and not brave what so ever. Jack dislikes most people who do not wish to serve their country in Gallipoli. Jack Johnson and Benjamin Patrick were on the first boats to enter the beaches, before they were noticed by the Turkish Soldiers. Jack and Ben were just some of the people who had helped build the trenches. Once they had settled down Benjamin met someone by the name of Toby and started a conversation about how horrible it is there and how Ben is coming with an idea to get himself discharged, although Toby had told Ben that being a deserter will ruin the family name, while also being charged with treason if anyone were to learn about your actions. After this, Ben had tried to change the subject, Have you heard? General Birdwood is stealing extra rations once Toby had realised what he was trying to do, he had just walked away and ignored Ben. Benjamin later started to brainstorm on how he would be able to be discharged on a piece of worn out paper, although didn t put his name on it. Jack had later found the plans and suspected one of the members of the platoon are going to purposely injure themselves with the intention to be relieved of duty. Jack at first suspected Toby as he didn t think Benjamin had the balls to be shot, especially if it meant he was going to do it on purpose. After Jack had made this assumption, he confronted Toby; saying, Are you the one planning on abandoning your brothers soldier?! , Toby had then replied, I don t know what you re talking about Jack, remind me , I found your plans to leave you coward , Toby chuckled in reply to this statement and said, This is hilarious, they re probably Bens... , Jack yelled across the trenches IS THIS TRUE PATRICK?! , Yes sir... Ben had replied. This is a social justice issue because it affects the community as a whole, not just the person who is experiencing suicidal ideation. Looking at the issue from the bigger picture can help to establish more effective prevention methods. Question #1 I would give myself a rating of 9 with how willing I am to allow the issue of suicide prevention to be questioned and refuted by scientific evidence. Through my experience, which I will talk about in the next question, most of the work that goes into organized suicide prevention efforts is based off of research. For example, the landowners create a system in which migrants are treated like animals and pushed along from one roadside camp to the next. They are denied decent wages and forced to turn against their fellow scramblers to simply survive. Those are quantitative and qualitative research. While both approaches become standards for conducting a research, both approaches have major differences in answering research questions and gathering the valid data. Quantitative research can be described as an approach to which it explains a phenomenon expressed in numerical data and analyzed by using mathematically based statistical tools (Aliaga and Gunderson, 2000). As a conclusive research, quantitative research emphasizes what are the causes of the phenomenon, assuming people to have fixed factors to which it causes a phenomenon. Moreover, quantitative approach is more limited, emphasized only on measuring the quantity of phenomenon instead of describing it. At first the flame burned slightly orange, indicating the cation could have been sodium. But, with further testing and the use of a filter, the flame burned light pinky purple multiple times after. This indicates that the burner was not fully clean and trace amounts of sodium could have existed in the range of the flame. Although, it hasn t always been clear about how the mind and the body are connected. In fact, back in the day, individuals didn t seem to understand the importance of the mind and the body. Many philosophers, such as Descartes and Spinoza were two important contributors that illustrated the importance of the mind. Both individuals had similar thinking, however, they both still had different theories and ideas about the human mind and body.
