2. Cannabis Persuasive Speech
As we venture into the wonderful world of cannabis, not only do a plethora of smells, tastes, and
sensations bombard us, but a gang of newfound terms that many haven t been familiarized with yet.
Below is a list of words often brought up at various events or casually within the cannabis culture.
Having a conversation with a well educated stoner will be seemingly less complex after taking a look
at this mini lexicon of cannabis terminology.
Alcohol Extraction: Stripping cannabis of its cannabinoids/trichomes oils using alcohol (either ethyl
or isopropyl) as a solvent.
We crafted this golden hash oil from the Afghani strain using alcohol extraction.

The full name for the plant is Cannabis Sativa or Cannabis Indica.
CBD: Abbreviation for cannabidiol, the second most common cannabinoid other than THC that
creates a relaxing effect that causes the consumer to become stoned instead of high.
We got a high CBD strain to help with the pain in our back since work is really straining.
CBN: Abbreviation for cannabinol, the third common cannabinoid found in cannabis. It s known to
help the consumer sleep and is only mildly psychoactive.
This indica has more CBN than a normal strain, it knocked me out cold last night!
Carb Cap: When dabbing, the titanium/quartz/ceramic device that fits over a domeless nail, allowing
the consumer to inhale take a complete hit as it keeps the nail slightly cooled at a lower temp. This in
turn, creates a more flavorful dab.
I need the carb cap otherwise I ll cough my lungs out if I try to dab without it.
Cashed: When all the cannabis in a bowl is smoked and there s nothing more than ash.
You handed me a cashed bowl, let s load another one!
Cheeba: Slang for cannabis, perhaps deriving from Colorado s edible company Cheeba Chews.

Some 310 billion mobile app downloads are expected by Q1/2016, and 70% of smartphones will be
802.11acready by Q2/2015. And let s not forget about tablets they consume 3.4 times more traffic
compared to a smartphone on average. Networks must contend with this higher demand. Enterprises
have also grown more reliant on higher bandwidth, latency sensitive applications. For example, virtual
desktop infrastructures (VDI) are characterized by bursty, delay sensitive traffic because processing
occurs in the data center instead of locally. HD video capable mobile devices are proliferating. And
users increasingly rely on them for fast and efficient mobile telepresence. Collaborative programs like
Microsoft Lync, Apple FaceTime, WebEx and Citrix GoToMeeting create two way video traffic across
the network. The use of podcasting and streaming has also skyrocketed. It is therefore only natural to
see a huge increase in the consumption of multimedia on mobile devices in the residence hall. Due to
the pervasiveness of wireless in some environments, the smart classroom has now become virtualized,
which allows its capabilities to be delivered anywhere there is capacity to receive it. The 80/20 rule for
download and upload direction no longer exists. New app behavior has completely transformed traffic

5. This essay is going to define machine learning and...
This essay is going to define machine learning and describe some of the different areas within
machine learning. It will summarise some of the algorithms used to achieve machine learning and
describe some of the situations in which they can be applied, then compare these to human learning
techniques and comment on there similarities and differences. It will then discuss Raymond Kurzweils
singularity theories and its opposing views.
Intro
Machine learning is having a large impact on the way that computers can be used in many ways.
There are many implementations that vary in complexity. Google finishing off sentences when a
search term is entered (Economist,2014)and Netflix having the ability to recommend films that you

No instructions on how to play the game or what the aim of the game was were given. (Mnih et

The head of engineering at Google is Dr Ray Kurzweill, he has predicted that the intellect of machines
will surpass human intellect by 2045 and believes that by this point machines will be capable of
everything that humans are only they will do it better.(Kurzweill,2005). More recently Kurzweill has
explained that his aim while working with google is to reverse engineer the human brain
(Kurzweill,2013). There are however many sceptics of Kurzweill s theories and proof of Kurzweils
singularity theories remains to be shown. (Regalado,2013)
What is machine learning
Machine learning is an area of A.I that involves the use of algorithms, statistical analysis and
programming in combination to allow a machine to learn from its experience. This is done in a
number of ways but all are essentially a computer program that can re program its self based on
external stimulus or experience. In machine learning the program is referred to as the agent.
The first example of machine learning was completed by Arthur Samuel. Samuels program learnt how
to play checkers by playing its self and went on to beat human players who would be considered
above average. His definition of machine learning was the field of study that gives computers the
ability to learn without being explicitly programmed (Muonz,nd)
Recently a more formal definition was presented

9. Drumming Traditions Of Ghan Traditional Music
NM2610 Research Essay
Drumming Traditions of Ghana
The Traditional music of Africa presents itself as an oral practice of instrumental skill passed down
from ancient ancestors. This idea has influenced the sound produced through instrumentation thus
allowing the replication of spoken language. Within Ghanaian tradition, the practice of dance
drumming is a part of everyday culture and can be linked to religion, politics, life events and
entertainment (Green 2012 p. 235 238). The practice of drumming acts as the central focus of Ghana s
musical culture functioning to form well connected ethnic groups (Jones 1964 p. 334). Through the
relationship of music and traditional ritual, an understanding of the Ghanaian culture may be ... Show

Rhythms known as okomfo twene are chosen based on their success in attracting the gods but it is not
uncommon for musicians to create their own. The Asente perform three modes of drumming, which
are signal mode, speech mode and dance mode; these may all be observed within the possession ritual.
The drumming of the healing ceremony is often dynamic signaling the beginnings of a ritual whilst its
connection to dance rhythms inspires movement thus encouraging possession. The drums used within
the ceremony are the talking drums called Atumpan that feature a high tone and a low tone which are
used to mimic tonal language of the Asente (Wilson 2006).
It is through the musical elements incorporated within the healing ceremony that attendance,
possession and the ability to heal is affected. The significance of the drum within this ritual to appease
the gods can be compared to the importance of drumming in relation to the deceased in funeral
ceremonies of the Ewe people.
Within the tradition of the Ewe people, music is a representation of worth with this idea reflected
within funeral ceremonies. Ghanaian funerals of the Ewe people do not only function to farewell
loved ones but also act as an occasion that inspires the creation and performance of music. An Ewe
funeral is a three day event that includes the wake keeping, burial and grand funeral showcasing a
diverse variety of drumming practices. The wake keeping

10. The Importance Of Obeying The Law
The fine line between obeying the law and not obeying it. Obeying the law kind of makes the world
safer. When you don t obey a law and therefore caught doing the crime; you will be charged and
possibly sentenced to a place where you are no longer free to do as you please. When you obey the
law you get to do as you please with your life as long as you follow the laws. Laws are put into motion
to create a safe environment for everyone to live in. No one should have to be worried about their
lives everyday; but there are accidents everyday in which lives are lost. When people aren t following
the law it doesn t mean that they are doing something that could harm someone; it could be something
that wouldn t have no harm no foul. When you don t follow every law it doesn t make you a bad
person. I don t believe everyone follows every law because there are too many laws that we don t
really know. Breaking a law that has done no harm doesn t make you a bad person. When we are born
their isn t an official or someone working for the government at the hospital with documents for you
to sign saying you re going to follow all the laws and if you don t there shall be consequences. When
we are born we are fully protected within the United States under all its all laws making it basically
not an option that your either going to follow them or not. In general there is no documents that we

11. The Rise Of Pollution Levels
There I was in Shanghai, China, staring at the sun as if I were trying to look at a lamp behind a
curtain. The rise of pollution levels in China has intrigued the minds of people who never even cared
about the environment before. The People s Republic of China is now the largest emitter of CO2 in the
world. But of course, this a global phenomenon: a global phenomenon that in no way started with
China as Alanna Mitchell would agree to. By the end of the 19th century, the powerful duo that was
industrialization and imperialism spread industrial growth from Great Britain to Southeast Asia. From
the opium wars in the mid 19th century to the economic reforms of 1970s, China has been
incorporated into the global economy as the world s manufacturer. And as we know, modern
manufacturing is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. This has put an immense amount of international
pressure on the Chinese to improve their environmental footprint. But sustainable development needs
to start not just with China, but with all major players in the global economy. Mitchell s statement, the
idea that the planet s future might come down to China s choices is hard for the West to fathom (102)
is not only ironic, but a dangerous idea to accept. An historical context of China s industrialization and
urbanization will show you that Western interests in China led to its massive carbon emission. Further,
the root of the problem must be solved the way it started, with help from the West.

12. Exegesis Of Psalm 23
Exegesis on Psalm 23
Introduction:
The 23rd Psalm is arguably the most infamous and popular psalms among people in the western
world. With 1/3 of the worlds population identifying with an Abrahamic faith (Christian, Jews or
Muslin), the psalms play a vital role in the emotions towards God and about God to the believer. This
psalm is neither intermingled with prayers, nor does it complain of miseries for the purpose of
obtaining relief; but it contains simply a thanksgiving, from which it appears that it was composed
when David had obtained peaceable possession of the kingdom, and lived in prosperity, and in the
enjoyment of all he could desire. That he might not, therefore, in the time of his great prosperity, be
like worldly men, who, when they seem to themselves to be fortunate, God in forgetfulness, and
luxuriously plunge themselves into their pleasures, he delights himself in God, the author of all the
blessings which he enjoyed. And he not only acknowledges that the state of tranquility in which he
now lives, and his exemption from all inconveniences and troubles, is owing to the goodness of God;
but he also trusts that through his providence he will continue happy even to the close of his life, and
for this end that he may employ himself in his pure worship. It s a Psalm of journey and of
nourishment both along the way and at the end.

The Psalm begins with a title ascribing this psalm to David.

Wage led growth good for credit unions and the macro economy
2016 opened with stock markets in turmoil, news on the slowing Chinese economy, and oil prices
falling below $30 a barrel. Credit unions have concerns on how these affects their operations.
Concerned investors overreacted to the news of a slower Chinese economy, which partly explains the
stock market turmoil in the U.S. and around the world. China s economy is not immune from the
business cycle. Its economy s growth rate eventually came down from the double digits to the single
digits as it undergoes structural changes. China is shifting from an export led to a domestic
consumption driven economy. Since 1976, the beginning of China s journey towards integration into
the global economy, annual GDP growth averaged 9.5%. Since 2012, growth has been below average
falling to 6.8% in the fourth quarter of 2015. While it can be argued that China s economic slowdown
has both direct and indirect effects on the U.S. economy through trade and financial flows, a slowing
Chinese economy has marginal effects on credit unions. Moreover, it is difficult to aggregate the
effects of China s economic slowdown in future U.S. economic growth.
Unlike banks, credit unions have limited exposure to the ever present daily gyrations in the stock
market. The stock market turmoil in January was not a viable indicator of a U.S. economic slowdown.
The stock rout was a result of investors reaction to further declines in oil prices, strength

17. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Stochastic Model
3.1 Deterministic models There are two types of model that we are going to look at, firstly the
deterministic model and then the stochastic model. [23]A deterministic model is used in a situation
where the result can be established straightforwardly from a series of conditions. It has no stochastic
elements and both the input and the outputs are determined conclusively. On the other hand a
stochastic model is one where the cause and effect relationship is stochastically or randomly
determined. Therefore the system having stochastic element is generally not solved analytically and
hence there are several cases for which it is difficult to build an intuitive perspective. When simulating
a stochastic model a random number is usually generated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

covering the topic of mood disorders. The common definition of mood disorder is given, a collection
of psychiatric conditions that involve a pervasive distortion of one s emotional state. He also notes that
everyone has normal, periodic changes, and this common occurrence. What makes mood disorders is
the extreme changes unrelated to a person s circumstances. There are more often then not a person will

utilized a large Orchestra and Choir, all of which displayed various musical concepts. Ultimately, this
performance breathtaking performance, respectfully paid homage to one of the most revered
symphonies of all time. The First movement Allegro ma non troppo, un poco maestoso began with a

movement. The third movement Adagio molto e cantabile played in variation form by repeating the
same basic melody, with minor alterations. The fourth and final movement called Presto; Allegro

Instead the pancreatic juice, which is the most important digestive juice, contains mainly water and
enzymes such as: Amylase (breaks down carbohydrates/starch into glucose), Protease (breaks down
proteins into amino acids) and Lipase which breaks down lipids (with the aid of bile) into
triglycerides. It also contains sodium bicarbonate able to neutralize the hydrochloric acid present in
the chyme. Through the lining of the small intestine I can also see numerous brush border enzymes
which are further breaking down products of digestion into absorbable particles; these enzymes
constitute the intestinal juice and particularly digest polysaccharides transforming them in
monosaccharaides (Maltase, Sucrase and Lactase), (Patton amp; Thibodeau, 2008). The chyme now is
entering in the jejunum (the second portion of the small intestine) where digestion continues and
absorption begins. I notice that the jejunum contains numerous villi but less Brunner s glands, it also
presents many large circular folds called plicae circulares (Pansky, 2007). These circular folds increase
the surface area for nutrient absorption; in fact the absorption of the majority of nutrients takes place
here. Now the chyme and I are entering into the ileum which is the final and longest segment of the

24. What Was The Impact Of The Magna Carta
As a result of civil unrest, the Magna Carta of 1215 not only documented the liberties held by free
men but it was also the first document to enforce law upon the sovereign. Written in Latin and not in
the best condition, the Magna Carta (or Great Charter) has succeeded to remain relevant to the cause
of human rights today, eight centuries after it was scrawled onto sheep skin and affirmed with the
sticky wax seal of the King John. Throughout this essay I will analysing the document and exploring
the effects it had on society.
The Magna Carta was a turning point in history, with the initiation of human rights, one of legislations
that was most significant was clause 39, No free man shall be arrested or imprisoned ... except by
lawful judgment of his peers or by the law of the land. This deemed that imprisonment should not
occur without a legal process, this reshaped the legal process and provoked the notion of trial by jury.
Which effectively established the principle of the rule of law and protecting individuals from arbitrary
punishment. In theory, this would of course have created a justice system, however the term free man
has its limitations as it only referred to the minority of the population of England at the time. Many of
the people were unfree peasants known as villeins , who could only pursue justice through the courts
of their own lords. This implies that that King John hoped the Charter would become no more than a
toothless symbol of his generosity to the

25. Nurture Plays a More Dominant Role in Human s Development...
Humans are unique and intricate creatures and their development is a complex process. It is this
process that leads people to question, is a child s development influenced by genetics or their
environment? This long debate has been at the forefront of psychology for countless decades now and
is better known as Nature versus Nurture . The continuous controversy on whether or not children
develop their psychological attributes based on genetics (nature) or the way in which they have been
raised (nurture) has pondered the minds of psychologists for years. Through thorough experiments,
studies, and discussions however, it is easy to see that nurture is far more important in the
development of a human than nature.
The Nature versus Nurture argument can be traced back many millenniums ago. In 350 B.C.,
philosophers asked the same question on human behaviour. Plato and Aristotle were two philosophers
that each had two diverse views on the matter. Plato believed that knowledge and behaviour were due
to inherent factors, but environmental factors still played a role in the equation. Conversely, Aristotle
had different views. He believed in the idea of Tabula Rasa .
The Blank Slate theory supported the nurture side of the argument and believed that everyone was
born with a Tabula Rasa , Latin for Blank Slate . He proposed that people learn and acquire ideas from
external forces or the environment . In other words, he believed that the mind is a blank slate and it is

26. The Role Of Nutrition Therapy And Crohn s Disease
Nutrition Therapy and Crohn s Disease The Role of Nutrition Therapy in Crohn s Disease According
to the Crohn s and Colitis Foundation of America, Crohn s disease (CD) may affect as many as
780,000 Americans1. The exact time of the onset of the disease is unknown, but it often starts between
the age of 15 and 35 for both men and woman. Currently, the diagnosis, etiology, treatment, and cure
of CD remain undefined. However, recent research suggests that hereditary, genetics, and/or
environmental factors play a role in the development of CD. Also, recent research also suggests that
poor diets and high stress levels aggravate the symptoms, but there is not significant evidence to
support the claim. Hence, the objective of this literature search is to highlight the role of nutrition
therapy as part of the process in prevention, treatment, and recovery of the patient in regards to CD,
because the incidences of CD in the U.S. are on the rise. Therefore, the value of nutritional support in
the prevention and treatment of malnutrition of the patient with CD is essential, even though the
essential role of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for CD is still debated. Is important to mention that
based on the evidence of controlled trials, MNT, and specifically enteral nutrition, remains one of the
most accepted treatments for CD, demonstrating that enteral nutrition induces the same remission
rates as well know pharmaceutical therapies. The goal of MNT in regards to CD is to maintain

27. What Does A Prayer For Owen Meany
Undoubtedly one of the most popular stories of the 21st century was Harry Potter, a series in which
readers follow the life of a twelve year old boy who learns that he is magical. Throughout the novels
aspects of magic are blended into the real world, portrayed by the setting Great Britain, which
contains a large proportion of non magical people, referred to as muggles. The way the author, J.K
Rowling, set the book up and blended these two aspects, magic and realism, is analogous to the way
John Irving wrote a Prayer for Owen Meany through the genre of magical realism. Furthermore, the
use of this genre allowed for the development of John Irving s main message. By setting the story in
the realistic town of Gravesend, New Hampshire, and incorporating the exceptional religious character
of Owen Meany, the author sets the scene to impart his thoughts upon readers. John Irving s main
message in a Prayer for Owen Meany is that not all people view the world using science and logical
reason. A realistic element of the story is that John and Owen were raised in the small town of
Gravesend, New Hampshire. To a reader who doesn t know that this town is in fact factitious, the
town might seem very realistic. Seeing as the town is comprised similarly to many towns during the
time period that Owen was set in, it would not be improbable that an unknowing reader might be lead
to believe that the setting of this story is a real town. In fact the town even has multiple churches such

The police had only just been set up when the murders occurred, so had no previous experience. The
only way to prove someone committed a murder was to catch them in the act or get a confession.
Though they increased the number of officers, they only ever came across the bodies, warm. There
was more than one police force operating in London at the time, which meant that there was a lack of

29. Social Movementism And The History Of The Black Power...
Social movements are actions of history that have shaped the way societies run and the values their
citizens uphold. The Black Power Movement is one example of a major social movement is the
history of the United States. While it stemmed from and contains a purpose similar to that of the Civil
Rights Movement, a shift in attitude and leadership gave the Black Power Movement (BPM) its own
unique identity. Musicking and the use of music changed with the times to reflect this new movement
and is arguably one of the central reasons the BPM is examined as its own tour de force in the push for
equal rights. A social movement is defined as the gathering of people to change an element of society
that they feel is not acceptable and cannot endure any longer. There are two primary types of
movements: reactive and proactive. Reactive movements typically involved resistance movements and
are a pushback or reaction to current social changes. Proactive social movements include reform and
revolutionary social movements which are designed to bring radical social change and replace the
existing structures with new ones. While these definitions remain constant, as social changes impact
societies, many social movements may change labels. A proactive movement can become a reactive
movement and vice versa. The Black Power Movement is a social movement because it was seeking
to change the societal belief that while blacks and whites were legally equal, blacks were still treated
as inferior in

30. European Colonialism In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Chinua Achebe s novel Things Fall Apart, and the reading African Challenge both look at the
consequences and benefits of European colonialism on the Igbo people and African culture. The novel
s main character is Okonkwo, who is the head the Umuofia clan, a Nigerian tribe. One of Okonkwo s
personal mission is to not be like his father, who he viewed as a coward and weak. Okonkwo s
accomplishes this mission by being obsessed with masculinity and viewing feminity in a derogatory
way. Okonkwo s hold over his clan is tested by the infusion of missionaries and along with them
colonialism into Nigeria. The African Challenge also talks about the European missionaries and their
mission to spread Christianity amongst the Igbo people and also about the beliefs that both societies
had about eachother. Through the incorporation of the Igbo language throughout his novel, and the
interactions of the Europeans with the Igbo people and their customs presented in both the novel and
African Challenge, we can see both the benefits and consequences that European colonialism had on
the Igbo society and African culture.
Both readings highlight how the Igbo people s insistence on sorcery and ancestral spirits leads to
conflict between the Europeans and the Igbo people. The first instance of conflict that arises in the
novel, is when a missionary to convert a village woman to Christianity, and accidentally kills an
ancestral spirit. This leads to the villagers burning the missionary s huts. The

presented the main character as an antihero. An antihero is a protagonist of a story or film who

who was arrested for cutting the tops off of parking meters. He was sentenced to two years in a
Florida prison camp. Underlying the hard bitten surface is a slightly uncomfortable allegory which
identifies Newman as a Christ figure (Milnes, 142). He was idolized by the men in the chain gang and
changed their lives forever. From the time Luke arrives at the prison, he stands out to the guards and

Health means to me a person s physical, mental/emotional and social well being. At the beginning of
the summer health meant to me a person who is not ill or injured. What has changed from the my

physical factor of someone s health. Mental/emotional health and social health are also key factors. All
these factors make up a person s wellness and that is the overlying thing that is important. My physical
health has improved drastically throughout this course. I started eating healthier and having fruits for
breakfast instead of my usual stack of waffles. On top of this I started to workout with friends. This is
great, but my goal for the future is to continue like this. I fear that once school starts again I will have
more available excuses as to why I am not able to keep up these healthy habits. One thing that I really

In the presently highly digital world we live in, there are essentially two types of graphic files used,
the bitmap and the vector graphics. Both have an overall similar principal but differ in various sub

bitmap originated in the year 1973, and came to be by adding the words bit + map which literally
means a map of bits, which perfectly describes the nature of a bitmap graphic. A bitmap is composed
of thousands of pixels, each of which has it s own fixed position and can be individually edited, which

35. The Maine Food Cluster Project
Sam Alexander
ENGN 9: Final Paper
December 7, 2016 THE MAINE FOOD CLUSTER PROJECT
Abstract
The Libra Foundation should work to expand food clusters in Maine to bolster a fragmented Maine
agricultural industry. Specifically, Libra should focus their support on processing and distribution
channels that will expand the product market and initial value. In this report, I will explore various
possible actions of the Libra Foundation and explain why, given the background of the Maine food
industry and Libra s attributes, the direction I have recommended is the optimal next step.
Overview In this paper, I contend that the Libra Foundation promote food clusters in the state of
Maine. First, I will examine the background of the Maine food industry, review the history of the
Libra Foundation, and consider food clusters in Maine and successful ventures across the globe. Then,
I will explore the critical issue of expanding food clusters in Maine to improve the agricultural
economy. Next, I will analyze these core issues by discussing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
and threats facing Libra and offer recommendations for the next steps forward for the Libra
foundation. Finally, I will synthesize the overall problem facing the Libra Foundation and argue that
for Libra to expand the vast good they have done for the Maine economy, they must lead a Maine food
cluster movement whose main focus is to increase the production value and distribution of Maine
foods.

37. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Small States
There is no sure definition for small states however, it was noted by Commonwealth Secretariat that it
is one with a population of 1.5 million or fewer. Besides population, small states also face similar
challenges that have led them to be defined as small states as stated in the Commonwealth, decline in
global trade, limited capacity to harness growth opportunities, dependent of outsourced imports,
problematic governance capacities, vulnerability to external shocks and natural disasters, high
transportation costs due to insularity and remoteness, small size, dependence on a narrow range of
exports, lack of readily available information for investors and trading partners. The small states are
not able to prosper because they lack resources. According to Hillman and D Agostino, since the
1990s, various indices of economic vulnerability have been developed by the United Nations and the
Commonwealth Secretariat. These small states share measures of openness to trade, export
diversification, access to and reliance on external financial flows, export dependence, international
transportation costs, and vulnerability to natural disasters. (Hillman and D Agostino, 2009).
Many argue that size is a major weak point for small states in the Caribbean. Small states are
overlooked because of their size and population. According to Paul Sutton, while small states are weak
authorities they are not necessarily weak states. But small states can be strong states and can use that
