according to ayurveda many diseases arises due to lack of immunity powder. proper nutrition and herbal preparation helps to boost up energy and to relief malnutrition.
Ayurveda a Food Science perfectly deals with the different kinds of food preparation which can be utilized in day to day life according to prakritti(basic constitution), desha(place), dosha(humors), kala(time).
Vipaka comes under the five concepts under the study of a dravya (Rasapanchakas). In Ayurveda the digestion & metabolism of any substance is explained in two stages:
Avasthapaka
Nishtapaka
Avasthapaka is the first phase considered as digestion.
In charaka the word “prapaka” is used as the synonym for avasthapaka.
Nishtapka or Vipaka is the second phase and considered as metabolism.
the concept of virya gives the knowledge of potency of drugs it is well explained by Virya. the action of the drugs depends on the potency presents in it.
This is the second part of presentation regarding definitions in Rasa shastra. An attempt is made to clarify the definitions in more clear way also useful images are added to further improvise the presentation.

It will not be wrong to say that Ashwagandha is one of the most important herbs in the Ayurvedic medicine system. It is an ancient herb and has been used in the Ayurvedic medicine system for the last 3000 years. The word Ashwagandha is a Sanskrit word derived from two different words ash (horse) and gandha (smell). It refers to both its unique smell and ability to increase strength. The botanical name of Ashwagandha is WithaniaSomnifera. It is also known as Indian ginseng and white cherry. The Ashwagandha plant is a small shrub. It has white yellow flowers and it is native to India and North Africa. The extracts or powder from the roots or leaves of this plant are used to treat a different variety of conditions.

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS

Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

The drugs which provides strength to the body is known
as “Balya”
Bala also indicates the vitality or the defense
mechanism of body, can also be explained as OJA.
Bala can be understood as the
• Sarvadaihik Bala
• Dhatu Bala.

arjuna Linn. Bark in iso-proterenol induced
myocardial infarction in experimental animals.
V. Sivakkumar and S Rajeshkumar
international journal of pharma sciences and research (IJPSR) vol 5 jun 2014
This study was conducted in rats, with ethanol
and aqueous extract of Terminalia arjuna at the
dose - 250mg/kg body weight. The result
illustrate the significant cardio-protection in
iso-proterenol induced myocardial infarction in
animals.
15. Hepatoprotective effect of Picrorrhiza kurroa on
tissue defence system in D-galactosamine-
induced hepatitis in rats
Pretreatment with the ethanol extract of
Picrorrhiza kurroa was able to prevent liver
damage in D-galactosamine-induced hepatitis
in rats.
– a significant increase of lipid peroxidation and
– a decrease in liver antioxidant enzymes levels.
27. Indication of Brimhana
• Brimhana is suggested for those people
suffering from the following problem:
– Depletion of Dhatu
– Injury
– Senior citizens
– Lean and thin
– General debility
– Extensive walker
– Who regularly indulge in sexual activity
– Those who takes alcohol regularly
• In general it is suggested for all people to take
Brimhana dravya in Grishma Ritu.
32. Discussion
As balya and brimhana both works on
dhatus and most of the indications are
similar, it is essential to differentiate
the condition before its therapeutic
application.
34. Similarities between Balya and
Brimhana
• Both the balya and brimhana dravyas works
very closely to increase the depleted dhatu
and to maintain the strength and weight of
body.
• Majority of balya and brimhana dravya are
guru, snigdha in guna, and having
predominancy of Prithvi and Jala mahabhuta.
• Some of the dravya works both as balya and
brimhana dravya eg: Ashwagandha, shatavari.
38. There is clear explanation of guna of
Brimhana dravya in classical text but guna
of Balya dravya is not given separately.
Guna of Balya dravya as per analysis of
rasapanchaka of 10 dravya given as balya
gana by Caraka can be illustrated as
follows:
39.
40. Balam pustayupalambhascha karshyadoshavivarjanam
Lakshanam brimhite sthaulyamiti ca atyartha brimhite
Ca.Su.2238
When we look to the sign and symptoms of normal
Brimhana karma first of all there is increase of Bala
(strength), followed by Brimhana. It shows that
Balya and Brimhana finally works in very close
relation to each other.
There is clear reference of complication of excessive
use of brimhana dravya but not such reference for
balya dravya.

Dourbalya 69.4%
Cramps in leg 63.6%
Avara Samhanana 68.6%
With therapy there was highly significant increase of weight,
increased biceps, triceps and gluteus skin fold thickness.
Significant reduction of Dourbalya and cramps in leg was noted.
47. Clinical study to evaluate the Brimhaniya effect of
Vidarikandadi yoga to enhance the sport performance
in children
Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine Nilesh Manohar Ingle, Nisha Kumari
Ojha and Abhimanyu Kumar
This study was conducted on total number of 72 healthy
students, two groups (test group and control group) test
group was given 200mg of Vidarikandadi yoga (Y.R.) in divided
dose for 2 month with milk.
The study revealed the statistically significant increase of
weight and chest circumference, where as highly significant
results were obtained for muscular strength and endurance
assessment parameters (Push-up, Sit-up and Hand grip
strength test) in test group.
48. Conclusion
• Balya and Brimhana Dravya play vital role in
promotion of health, and also for the
prevention & cure of disease.
• Though Balya and Brimhana Dravya are very
close to each other, all Balya dravya may not
be Brimhana but all Brimhana dravya are
Balya.
• We can apply the concept of Balya and
Brimhana to restore and to nourish the body
through micro nutrients.
