SECURING SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT STAGES USING ASPECT-ORIENTATION CONCEPTSijseajournal
In the past 10 years, the research community has produced a significant number of design notations to
represent security properties and concepts in a design artifact. The need to improve the security of software
has become a key issue for developers. The security function needs to be incorporated into the software
development process at the requirement, analysis, design, and implementation stages as doing so may help
to smooth integration and to protect systems from attack. Security affects all aspects ofa software program,
which makes the incorporation of security features a crosscutting concern. Therefore, this paper looks at
the feasibility and potential advantages of employing an aspect orientation approach in the software
development lifecycle to ensure efficient integration of security. These notations are aimed at documenting
and analyzing security in a software design model. It also proposes a model called the Aspect-Oriented
Software Security Development Life Cycle (AOSSDLC), which covers arrange of security activities and
deliverables for each development stage. It is concluded that aspect orientation is one of the best options
available for installing security features not least because of the benefit that no changes need to be made to
the existing software structure.

Security has always been a great concern for all software systems due to the increased incursion of the wireless devices in recent years. Generally software engineering processes tries to compel the security measures during the various design phases which results into an inefficient measure. So this calls for a new process of software engineering in which we would try to give a proper framework for integrating the security requirements with the SDLC, and in this requirement engineers must discover all the security requirements related to a particular system, so security requirement could be analyzed and simultaneously prioritized in one go. In this paper we will present a new technique for prioritizing these requirement based on the risk measurement techniques. The true security requirements should be easily identified as early as possible so that these could be systematically analyzed and then every architecture team can choose the most appropriate mechanism to implement them.
MANAGING SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE RISKS OF OUTSOURCED IT PROJECTScsandit
Several constraints, such as business, financial, and legal can lead organizations to outsource some of their IT services. Consequently, this might introduce different security risks to major security services such as confidentiality, integrity and availability. Analysing and managing the potential security risks in the early stages of project execution allows organizations to avoid or minimize such security risks. In this paper, we propose an approach that is capable of managing the security and compliance risks of outsourced IT projects. Such an approach aims to allow organizations to minimize, mitigate, or eliminate security risks in the early stages of project execution. It is designed to manage variation in security requirements, as well as provide a methodology to guide organizations for the purpose of security management and implementation

Agile development methods are commonly used to iteratively develop the information systems and they can
easily handle ever-changing business requirements. Scrum is one of the most popular agile software
development frameworks. The popularity is caused by the simplified process framework and its focus on
teamwork. The objective of Scrum is to deliver working software and demonstrate it to the customer faster
and more frequent during the software development project. However the security requirements for the
developing information systems have often a low priority. This requirements prioritization issue results in
the situations where the solution meets all the business requirements but it is vulnerable to potential
security threats.
The major benefit of the Scrum framework is the iterative development approach and the opportunity to
automate penetration tests. Therefore the security vulnerabilities can be discovered and solved more often
which will positively contribute to the overall information system protection against potential hackers.
In this research paper the authors propose how the agile software development framework Scrum can be
enriched by considering the penetration tests and related security requirements during the software
development lifecycle. Authors apply in this paper the knowledge and expertise from their previous work
focused on development of the new information system penetration tests methodology PETA with focus on
using COBIT 4.1 as the framework for management of these tests, and on previous work focused on
tailoring the project management framework PRINCE2 with Scrum.
The outcomes of this paper can be used primarily by the security managers, users, developers and auditors.
The security managers may benefit from the iterative software development approach and penetration tests
automation. The developers and users will better understand the importance of the penetration tests and
they will learn how to effectively embed the tests into the agile development lifecycle. Last but not least the
auditors may use the outcomes of this paper as recommendations for companies struggling with
penetrations testing embedded in the agile software development process.
A recent regulation approved by the European Parliament laid out the requirements for type approvals of motor vehicles on their safety aspects calls for the introduction of these new safety features as a prerequisite. As such, the need for an internationally recognized standard for safety critical systems becomes more crucial to measure how safe a system is.

CHAPTER

Secure Application Design
This chapter covers the important security considerations that should be part of the development cycle of web applications, client applications, and remote administration, illustrating potential security issues and how to solve them.
After an application is written, it is deployed into an environment of some sort, where it remains for an extended period of time with only its original features to defend it from whatever threats, mistakes, or misuse it encounters. A malicious agent in the environment, on the other hand, has that same extended period of time to observe the application and tailor its attack techniques until something works. At this point, any number of undesirable things could happen. For example, there could be a breach, there could be a vulnerability disclosure, malware exploiting the vulnerability could be released, or the exploit technique could be sold to the highest bidder.
Most of these undesirable things eventually lead to customers who are unhappy with their software vendors, regardless of whether or not the customers were willing to pay for security before the incident occurred. For that reason, security is becoming more important to organizations ...
Comparing Various SDLC Models On The Basis Of Available MethodologyIJMER
There are various SDLC models widely accepted and employed for developing software.
SDLC models give a theoretical guide line regarding development of the software. Employing proper
SDLC allows the managers to regulate whole development strategy of the software. Each SDLC has its
advantages and disadvantages making it suitable for use under specific condition and constraints for
specified type of software only. We need to understand which SDLC would generate most successful
result when employed for software development. For this we need some method to compare SDLC
models. Various methods have been suggested which allows comparing SDLC models. Comparing SLDC
models is a complex task as there is no mathematical theorem or physical device available. The essence
of this paper is to analyse some methodologies that could result in successful comparison of the SDLC
models. For this we have studied various available tools, techniques and methodologies and have tried
to extract most simple, easy and highly understandable method for comparing SDLC models.

If you were tasked with building a security program, imagine it's day 1 in your new role as an application security manager, which playbook would you use? There’s an Alphabet Soup of standards to choose from, you have ISO, SOC2, OWASP, NIST, BSIMM, PCI, CSA, and on and on.
Is there a script you could follow? And which set of frameworks would you use to get started in the right direction?
My talk today is going to draw on this quote and the wisdoms of the martial arts master and philosopher Bruce Lee. Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own. So, in that spirit I’m going to draw on my own experience with some of these frameworks and guidelines and cover the core foundational components that I feel have led to my success and I hope will help you get started.
What I’m hoping you’ll get out of this talk are some strategies and tactics that you can use to develop and improve your program.

Software Reliability and Quality Assurance Challenges in Cyber Physical Syste...CSCJournals
Software Reliability is the probability of failure-free software operation for a specified period of time in a specified environment. Cyber threats on software security have been prevailing and have increased exponentially, posing a major challenge on software reliability in the cyber physical systems (CPS) environment. Applying patches after the software has been developed is outdated and a major security flaw. However, this has posed a major software reliability challenge as threat actors are exploiting unpatched and insecure software configuration vulnerabilities that are not identified at the design phase. This paper aims to investigate the SDLC approach to software reliability and quality assurance challenges in CPS security. To demonstrate the applicability of our work, we review existing security requirements engineering concepts and methodologies such as TROPOS, I*, KAOS, Tropos and Secure Tropos to determine their relevance in software security. We consider how the methodologies and function points are used to implement constraints to improve software reliability. Finally, the function points concepts are implemented into the CPS security components. The results show that software security threats in CPS can be addressed by integrating the SRE approach and function point analysis in the development to improve software reliability.
This white paper endeavors to compare the traditional Threat identification techniques and the challenges they pose as they are applied into current product designs. It also proposes the key elements to consider while designing new threat identification solutions.
The development world has come to realize that the way we build applications opens the door to hackers.
We are starting to realize that it is the code itself that is enabling the attacks. It’s the responsibility of the
development team to build software that is inherently impervious to attack. Catching and dealing with
security defects earlier in the development lifecycle is much more economical than dealing with them once
the applications have been deployed.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
