Overview of the Research Process for Business Students
What is Research?
People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their
knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships and
not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a multiplicity of
possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which has to be finished
at some point to be of use.
The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy
decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies.
Documentary programmes tell us about research findings and advertisers may highlight the ... Show

It has not been changed or altered by human beings therefore its validity is greater than secondary data
however it is important to remember it can only be considered as reliable as the people who gathered
it. Gathering data in this way is time consuming, and incurs a high cost. More resources tend to be
required and it can result in inaccurate feedback.
Secondary data is less valid but it is readily available and can be reused. It is cheaper and quicker to
obtain in comparison to primary data. In some circumstances primary data does not exist and so one
has to confine the research of secondary data.
The Research Process
Research is not neutral, but reflects a range of the researcher s personal interests, values, abilities,
assumptions aims and ambitions. The research philosophy depends on the way you think about the
development of knowledge (Saunders et al. 2000, p.84)
Collis and Hussey (2003, p.52) highlight two main research philosophies and detail that there can be
overlap between the two and both positions may be identifiable in any research project. They are the
positivistic and phenomenological. Positivistic approaches are founded on the

The Report From Raleigh s News And Observer The Ghost...
The report from Raleigh s News Observer The Ghost of 1898; Wilmington s Race Riot and the Rise of
White Supremacy by Timothy B. Tyson discussed the historical event that is crucial, yet was rarely
spoke of until recent years. On November 10, 1989 Wilmington a majority black populated city as
well as center of African American political and economic success a group of white supremacist
burned down the building the local black newspaper resulting in the killing dozens of black residents,
banishment of successful black leaders as well as their white supporters. The effects of this incident
set path to the further expansion of white supremacy, and to an era of segregation, violence and
repression. One of the main contribution to the success of the Democratic party ruled by white
supremacist was the usage of the press, particularly newspapers, that carry propaganda to push the
campaign in their favor. They exploited the power of the press to demonized black men as rapists who
threatened the pure flower of Southern women (Tyson 7) and as tyrannical demons that threatens the
white race.
Racial superiority of whites was an ideology deeply ingrained, but the Democratic Party understood
that it would be crucial to their campaign to fan [the ember of bigotry] to full flame (6). The major
theme of the campaign became a mission to save white supremacy from Negro domination. Black
men are portrayed as heinous and savage creatures that target the pure image of white women.

Friar Lawrence Research Paper
Friar Lawrence: Positive or Negative Presence? Option AAccording to the prompt, critics have
remarked that Friar Lawrence serves as a kind of surrogate parent to both Romeo and Juliet. I agree
with their statement, but whether he was a positive or negative presence is the question. While Friar
Lawrence ultimately let to the character s demise, I believe he was a positive presence in the lives of
both Romeo and Juliet because he listened to their dilemmas, helped them solve their dilemmas, and
helped them obtain happiness. The first time we are introduced to Friar Lawrence Romeo wants Friar
to join himself and Juliet in marriage. He listens to Romeo talk about his issues and thinks of a way to
help him. Even though Friar Lawrence advises Romeo to calm down ... Show more content on

Friar married them. When Romeo gets banished from Verona, Friar helps him come up with a plan so
him and Juliet can still be together and live happily. He tells Romeo to go to Juliet but by morning
escape to Mantua and he will send a letter explaining the rest of the plan. After Romeo is gone Juliet
comes to Friar Lawrence because Capulet and Lady Capulet are making her marry Paris. She
wholeheartedly disagrees and expresses that she would rather kill herself than marry Paris. Friar
comes up with the plan to fake her death which would happen when she drank a potion. The liquid
would make her fall into a deep death like sleep that would would falsely make her parents believe she
was dead, therefore she wouldn t have to marry Paris. All of the plans Friar Lawrence created were
almost perfect. They all had the ability to work out perfectly, but sadly in every one there was a flaw.

How Did Robert Peary Achieve His Goals
To move forward in life, our main focus should be conquering our fears and achieving our goals.
Robert Peary is a great example of this. On April 6, 1909, Peary conquered the world and achieved his
lifetime goal of reaching the top of the world, the North Pole. He prepared for this goal all of his life,
through school and work after college. He did much research and took many voyages to explore. He
did not reach the Pole on his first try, but he persevered. After many long journeys and great
challenges, he finally achieved his goal and made his mark on the world. We should work just as hard
as Robert Peary did to overcome challenges in life and achieve our goals. Robert Peary was born on
May 6, 1856, in Cresson, Pennsylvania. He later moved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had overcome many tremendous challenges to achieve his goal. Because of this, it was extremely
disheartening to come home to civilization. Upon his return, he discovered that Frederick Cook, a man
who had accompanied Peary on one of his earlier expeditions, was claiming to have reached the North
Pole a year earlier that him. Peary was stripped of his glory until two Eskimos who were with Cook on
his journey revealed Cook s photographic evidence to be fake. The photos were said to have been
taken a long way from the Pole. After a Congressional inquiry in 1911, Peary was once again declared
the first to reach the North Pole. Cook was eventually imprisoned for another scandal concerning an
oil well swindle. All was well; Cook received what he deserved, and Peary got the recognition his
great achievement warranted. After losing eight toes to the Arctic cold and aging prematurely because
so much time spent in the harsh Arctic climate, Peary s dream was officially realized. Because his life
goal had been attained, Peary was able to die in peace, which he did on February 20, 1920. His life
was cut short due to health issues caused by the Arctic cold. He was then buried with his wife
Josephine in a place of honor in Arlington Cemetery. His companion Matthew Henson was later

In our school system we are forced to learn history such as the Civil Rights Movement. We are taught
that racism is no longer alive with in our society. This discrimination is evident with in our community
which has started some movements to battle the issue of racism and the discrimination. Some
movements are Black Lives Matter and the kneeling during the singing of the national anthem which
was started by Colin Kaepernick back in 2016. The Black Lives Matter movement was started because
of all the police brutality that we have seen in the media. The kneeling in the national anthem started
with Kaepernick because he felt that he had to protest what he deems as wrongdoings against African
Americans and minorities in the United States. During interviews he says, I am not going to stand up
to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color, Kaepernick told
NFL Media. It is easy to say that we are all equal and that our system sees no color. We can easily see
that the rights of racial minorities are under attack in vital areas such as immigration, affordable
healthcare and housing.
A lot has happened from during the time of 1900 to 1964, California grew rapidly and soon became an
agricultural and industrial power. Within the 1900 to 1939 the Segregation Era happened, racial
oppression escalated across the United Sates. This Created a lot of problems along the way. From

A Study By Anastasopoulos Et Al
In a study by Anastasopoulos et al. (2010), the authors found that the frequency of the CO was directly
influenced by the size of the projects. The authors also found that the relation between the project size
and the frequency of CO was significant. According to the project type, resurfacing and traffic
maintenance projects were found to have less CO. The reason they provided for this was these types of
projects were not subjected to uncertain conditions like earthwork and subsoil treatments. The authors
found that the longer the project duration, the number of CO would be also more. For the contract
with no CO showed that as the duration of the contract increases, the probability of having no CO
decreases. Unlike other studies, this study focused on the contractual aberrations investigating the
frequency of the CO associated with project characteristics, contract features and bidding outcomes in
the highway projects.
According to Alnuaimi et al. (2010), the CO were mainly due to the political reasons and errors in
designs. The authors figured out that clients were the number one cause of the CO in the public
projects in Oman. The delay in completion date was the main effect of the CO and the second most
noticed effect was the the claims and disputes. The survey showed that most benefiting party was the
contractor. However, the authors believed that the most benefiting party was consultant because of the
reason that it would get paid for any kind of time extension or

The Rise Of Silas Lapham
Realism is the theory of writing in which the ordinary, familiar, or dull traits of life are portrayed in a
straight forward manner that reflects life as it actually is. Multiple works of literature show some type
of Realism. Realism started its rise in the United States in 1865 and ended in the early 1900 s.
Realistic writers would set their stories in specific American regions trying to capture the local
traditions before they would be forgotten. They wrote about the grim realities of everyday life. These
grim realities are shown in Mark Twain s The War Prayer. Twain exhibits the truth about warfare and
all the chaos that happens while fighting. Mark Twain was not blind when it came to the realities of
war in the United States. Mark Twain was not the only great Realist of his time. William Dean
Howells, Henry James, and George Eliot were other successful Realist writers during the 19th
Century. Howells was an early advocate of Realism. Howells wrote The Rise of Silas Lapham, which
was about how a farm boy became a millionaire but all of it ended in a financial crash. George Eliot
was another successful Realist writer. Eliot believed that Realism was the writer s presentation of the
commonplace. Eliot was also the author of Middlemarch which was another literary work of Realism.
Henry James believed that Realism is a part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Individuality And Morality In The Bhagavad Gita And The Bible
In order for gods to enact their divine plans, they often use mortals as their pawns, either using them
as prophets or putting them through suffering to test their faith. However, those who blindly follow
deities become nothing more than puppets. They lose all sense of individuality, free will, and agency,
becoming nothing more than husks of their former selves only to fulfill some selfish materialistic or
spiritual goal that is promised by a deity. In a sense, they sacrifice a majority of their humanity in
pursuit of this paradise, but do the ends justify the means? No, to lose these virtues robs humans of
their ability to forge their own destiny instead of letting a deity hold all the cards. Even though there
are harsh punishments for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Arjuna sacrifices his individuality, he sacrifices many things that make him human such as his
attachment towards his family and his emotions. Attachment toward loved ones is the natural state of
humans, we have a desire to protect and care for them. Additionally, emotions may be the source of
hardship for many people throughout their lives but they are a part of the human condition, without
emotions, we are nothing but unfeeling and cold. Even with adverse effects, it is these emotions that
allow us to define who we are and in turn make us individuals. Within The Hebrew Bible God
commands Adam and Eve to abstain from the fruit in Tree of Knowledge, however, after Eve is
enticed by the serpent she eats the fruit. By eating from the Tree of Knowledge Adam and Eve gain
awareness of their current situation, Lord God called to the human and said to him, Where are you?
And he said, I heard your sound in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked, and I hid, And He
said, Who told you that you were naked, (160). By eating from the Tree of Knowledge, Adam and Eve
develop emotions such as fear and a concept of right and wrong. Eve disobeys God because she falls
victim to her desires and curiosity, this very act grants her and Adam individuality. The traits that they
gain outweigh the punishment God enacts on them, while they are now subject to mortality, hunger,
and disease they partake in their human characteristics such as curiosity and desire which are essential

Cyclic Redundancy Check
FPGA Implementation of Cyclic Redundancy Check Ruijie Zhang Abstract In the communication
system, in order to reduce the error rate of the communication line transmission, error control method

Candy Chromatography Research Paper
I. INTRODUCTION
A. Background of study
Candy coated sweets come in different colors and sometimes even vary in flavor in association with
the colors. These colors provide a creative display for children to easily get attracted to the particular
treat, leaving those tinted marks on their mouths and a happy, satisfied grin on their faces.
The reason for conducting the research is to know how the colors of our favorite candy coated sugary
rewards came to be and that method of knowing is what we call Candy Crhomatography .
Chromatography by definition according to Webster s dictionary means a method for separating the

Tay Sachs Disease
Tay Sachs disease is also known as: B Variant GM2 gangliosidosis, GM2 gangliosidosis type 1, Hex A
deficiency, Hexosaminidase A deficiency, Hexosaminidase alpha subunit deficiency (Variant B),
sphingolipidosis, and TSD. The main cause of Tay Sachs is a defective Hex A gene, and an absence of
a significant enzyme known as hexosaminidase. A gene on the fifteenth chromosome codes for the
generation of Hex A, and does not function properly in Tay Sachs patients. Each person has is
intended to have two Hex A genes. Based on inheritance and genetic patterns, even if one gene is
defective, the child will still be healthy. Following the inheritance pattern, if two healthy, carrier

Tay Sachs follows an autosomal recessive pattern both copies of the gene possess mutations. Warren
Tay first described it in 1881. Bernard Sachs was the first to describe cellular changes and the genetics
of it, in 1887. Tay described a patient with a cherry red spot on their retina. Sachs established the
connection the familial connections of the disorder, noting that most babies who had Tay Sachs were
of Eastern European, Jewish descent. If symptoms and physical characteristics suggest that a child
may be suffering from Tay Sachs disease, blood tests are used to determine whether or not the child s
body is producing the necessary Hex A enzyme. DNA is extracted from the sample in an attempt to
detect mutations of the Hex A. There is no known cure for Tay Sachs disease. For treatment and to
ease the pain of/reduce some of the side effects, doctors may prescribe seizure medications. It is

Critical Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Death Of Abraham Lincoln

Strange Fruit Ap Essay
Although Strange Fruit and The Summer I was Sixteen have extremely different tones and depict
images that seem nothing alike, they both have an underlying theme of discrimination and inequality.
Throughout history we have seen the bizarre way humans treat other other humans. Acts from a group
of humans towards another can range from violent to more mild, yet still harmful acts. Usually these
acts are based on differences in outward appearance, from the color of a person s skin to the gender of
a person. These two poems portray the idea that racism and sexism can be both blatant and subtle.
In the first couple lines of Strange Fruit by Abel Meeropol the tone of the poem is immediately set.

One signigicant simularity between sesism and rasicosm is the role that they play in classism, a system
our country has has throughout history. Classism is the systematic assignment of characteristics of
worth and ability based on social class. It includes individual attitudes and behaviors systems of
policies and practices that are set up to benefit the upper classes at the expense of the lower classes.
This results in drastic wealth inequality; the rationale that supports these systems and this unequal
valuing; and the culture that perpetuates them. It is prejudice, discrimination, mistreatment, neglect of
or lack of respect for any human and their rational needs based on people s socioeconomic class.
Classism is held in place by a system of beliefs and cultural attitudes that ranks people according to
economic status, family lineage, job status, level of education, and other divisions. Higher class people
are seen as smarter as and more articulate than poor people. In this way, dominant group members
define for everyone else what is normal or acceptable in the class hierarchy. Both women and African
Americans are seen as weaker, less intelligent, and therefore are pout in a lower class

What Is A Dystopia
Though the dystopian society seems like it is an opposite of a utopia, it is not exactly opposite because
the dystopias also contain some of the elements that can be seen in utopias such as intense measures of
social control but the only difference is that in dystopia, these elements are taken to the horrendous
extremes and where the emphasis is upon the negative effects. In the words of M.H.Abrams, Dystopia
means a bad place...in which certain ominous tendencies of [the] present social, political, and
technological order are projected in some future culmination ( A Glossary of Literary Term, 2001).
The best examples in dystopian literature are Aldous Huxley s Brave New World and George Orwell s

The word respect would not be that much pertinent, as that one leader would be raised to the place of
God . He will be worshipped by the citizens of the society. As, said before people cannot act however
they like and the main reason for such thing is that the citizens are always under the surveillance. They
would be watched by the authoritative groups and any change in their behaviour would be very well
known by the group. Citizens do not lead a peaceful life and they always live in a fear of the outside
world. They also live in a dehumanized state. They lack all the positive human qualities. The
negativity that prevails in their life does not give them any positivity and thus their life just moves on
without any hope. People are shown as suffering both physically and psychologically. People are made
to live in their world where the natural world is banished and distrusted to them. The society is an
illusion of a perfect utopian world. Raffaella Baccolini in her book, The Persistence of Hope in

Grocery Shopping Satire

Annoying Shoppers
Grocery shopping can be a very interesting experience. It seems like nothing more than a quick and
easy chore at first. You go in, throw whatever you want into your cart, pay and then get out. Its almost
relaxing, that is if the grocery store is completely empty. Unfortunately, there are always those other
shoppers. The ones who think they own the place or something. They re in just about every grocery
store in America. You know who I m talking about, that one parent usually a mom with a kid who just
so happens to be screaming bloody murder. Also, everyone knows a bad cart driver when they see one,
not to mention the label readers. And finally, probably the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, after carefully scanning each regular check out line, you finally spot the one with what seems like
the shortest line and casually stroll over there to wait your turn. What you didn t see, was that the lady
you decided to stand behind had the entire store in her cart! Little did you know that she was the worst
shopper of them all the Couponer. This is the bargain shopper who s annoying actions are broken
down into three steps. First, this shopper will decide to pack her cart so full that the pile of groceries in
her cart is taller than she is! Inevitably, creating a longer waiting time for you. Next, she will stand
there, stare at the clerk s computer screen and argue about the 2 for 1 price for every item that doesn t
match up exactly the way she wants. Finally, after all her groceries are scanned, bagged and carted, the
couponer will then proceed to dig through her entire purse searching for every coupon she has ever
saved over the past year for that one shopping trip. As if she hasn t already wasted enough of everyone
s time. It is at this point of your experience when you realize that any hope of an efficient and speedy
shopping trip was just tossed out the window. With all of the annoying people that decide to go to the
grocery store, shopping can easily turn from a quick and easy chore into one of the most tedious
experiences of your life. I encourage you, as a shopper, to watch out for people like this the next time

Globalisation and China’s Environmental Problems Essay
Is the lifestyle of people in Europe and the USA a major cause of China s environmental problems?
One of China s best successes has in turn been one of its biggest downfalls. One of the main problems
is China s greatest success which has been its phenomenal economic growth. This is one of the main
drivers of the current environmental problems that the country faces. Factories dump pollutants into
the air and water. It is difficult to see the Chinese government making the significant sacrifices
required to improve their environment if it means slowing down their economic growth.
In order to understand why China is in such environmental difficulties we need to understand why the
lifestyles of people in Europe and the US could be to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two areas are a result of increased industrialisation to keep up with the rapid growth in Chinas
export. One major external driver is outside influences such as the US, by the demanding lower
products and goods, manufacturers are forced to reduce any environmental safeguards that they had in
place. An example of this is when a textiles mill in southern China was caught dumping 22,000 tons of
contaminated water from its dyeing operation each day turning the whole river dark red. Another
driver behind behaviour such as this is the ever growing discount clothing chain stores. Prices on
fabric and clothing have fallen by 25% since 1995 and the particular article this was taken from was
put together back in 2007. The discount clothing giants have become even more cut throat and
competitive over the last few years. This behaviour is what has made China a huge export giant but
has cost them so much more. The inflated prices you may pay elsewhere take into consideration the
cost of manufacturing and all the other associated costs in production and safe removal of industrial
waste. From China a great deal of the time you are paying simply for the product or service and not to
cover the costs of environmental safeguard.
By 2006 there were 6000 registered environmental groups in China. They are growing in numbers,
influence and assertiveness. These groups are made up of people that are now beginning to understand
the consequences of rapid growth and

African American Literature 1940 Present
@02709326
As portrayed in both novels, how is Lutie Johnson s murder of Boots Smith and Bigger Thomas s
murder of Mary Dalton a direct representation of oppression and it s impact on the American Dream
for the African American?
Ann Petry s novel The Street (1946) is a commentary on the social injustices that confronted the
protagonist Lutie Johnson. Lutie is a single African American mother who lives in segregated America
during the 1940 s. Throughout the novel, we see that during this time period Lutie is confronted by
racism, sexism, and classism on a daily basis while in her pursuit of the American Dream for herself
and her son Bub. Lutie is convinced that if she follows the example of Benjamin Franklin, by working
hard and saving wisely, she will be able to achieve the dream of being financially independent and
therefore be able to move out from the Street in which she is confined to. Benjamin Franklin is
embodied in the text through the character Junto. It is Junto that is supposed to get Lutie closer
towards her dream. However, Junto, through his secret manipulations tries to possess Lutie sexually,
ultimately leading Lutie towards her path of destruction and she ends up committing the murder of
Junto s henchman, Boots. Junto represents the writer Petry s deep disillusionment with this cultural
myth of the so called American dream. In Richard Wright s novel Native Son (1940), The protagonist

Review Of The Song The Show
I like listening to pop music and one of my favorite songs is The Show by Lenka. The genre of this
song The Show is Indie Pop which sounds lighter and less depressing. The Show is written by the
Australian singer Lenka Kripac and the American singer/songwriter Jason Reeves. This song was
released on September 6, 2008, and it was sung by Lenka. Based on my research, I have not found any
older song that is familiar with this song The Show . Therefore, I believe this song is an original song.
The tempo of this song is fast, but I can clearly find the beat of The Show and the meter is quadruple.
This song is significant because when I listen to this song, I feel pleasant and optimistic. Besides,

Although several Houston neighborhoods living below the poverty line came to mind, I treated this
decision like a scientist would, I relied on research. I discovered 130 key indicators of poverty as
presented in the Growing Up in Houston 2012 2014 edition. I narrowed those down to the five
indicators I believe would most identify the areas that both needed Seasonal Harvest and would be

uninsured children, family annual income, education level of parents, and the number of free lunch
program recipients. I then compared those indicators to the neighborhood specific indexes provided by
the website, City Data to determine the neighborhoods that the company would pilot in. After looking
at all the data, only three neighborhoods in Houston had medium incomes below the poverty line:
Kashmere Gardens, Trinity Gardens, and Sunnyside with an average income of $26,419.00. These
neighborhoods also have a high population of people with less than a high school education (45%),

Individual Risk Management The objective of risk management is to develop response actions to
minimize the impact of possible negative events during every phase of a project. The process also
works to increase the impact of the positive events and mitigate the problems associated with making
changes (Project Management Institute, 2013). The risks in many projects are multifaceted in nature
because the positive impact created at one stage of a project, could have dire consequences at another.

different levels for each phase and department. The risk categorization provides the probability and

project objectives defining a plan to address cost, time, scope, and quality. The risk management

The Greatest Golfer Of All Time
When asked who is the greatest golfer of all time, what is the first name that comes to mind? This
question has been debated for years and will continue to be for many years to come. Initially, most
people will jump the gun and say Jack Nicklaus is the clear favorite because he has won eighteen
major championships compared to Tiger s fourteen. It s quite hard to tell them they are in the wrong
considering the major s are what every golfer dreams of winning and are without a doubt the most

Next, I d like to look the consistency and longevity of these two super athletes. One key statistical
edge Tiger has over Jack is total wins. He currently has seventy nine wins with many years left to add
to that number, whereas Jack retired with only seventy three. He also trumped Nicklaus with his 142
consecutive cuts made, a streak that lasted more than seven years. Nicklaus best was 105, which sits
third on the all time list. However, if being great is more about dominating their opposition rather than
just compiling numbers, then again Tiger comes out on top. Tiger has a record setting ten seasons on
the PGA Tour in which he won five or more tournaments. Jack sits in third once again with a total of
seven. With this being said, it s no surprise Woods has also comprised the most money titles on tour
along with the most player of the year awards. Not to mention he has as claimed the most Vardon
trophies for the best scoring average on tour. No one can argue the fact that Tiger has been the game s
undisputed best player more times than Nicklaus. Woods most impressive stat would have to be that of
the fact that he won twenty seven percent of the time he competed. This is extremely impressive
because Jack only came out the victor twelve percent on the time when he competed. One must take
into consideration that Nicklaus

On this view intelligence is just being able to imitate or mimic what a human being does. So, a
computer that can pass a turing test is intelligent. Chappie relates to Turing s position because Chappie
speaks and acts the same as a human, if it wasn t for his appearance it would be very difficult to
differentiate Chappie from a human. This film fully supports Turing because Chappie perfectly
represents Strong Artificial Intelligence. As soon as Chappie is created by his inventor, he establishes
a mother and father figure for himself. He grows up the same as a child does, starting from scratch and
learning by watching and listening to his surroundings. Then, Chappie soon gets his own ideas and
opinions the more time goes by. He acts and thinks independently, just the same as a human being,
therefore he is truly intelligent.
The Chinese Room Argument is Searle s refutation of Strong Artificial Intelligence. The idea will be
that we have an entity that will pass a Turing Test, but which clearly lacks intelligence, therefore it
represents Weak Artificial Intelligence. The Chinese Room argument Searle created has an English
speaker in a room with chinese writing and symbols and rules in English for translating a words into a

process used by Kellogg s is sender, encoding, selecting a medium of transmission, target audience,

which three stages such as ovulation, fertilization, and implantation that a women s body must go
through to get pregnant. When there are issues in these stages, infertility is diagnosed and examined
by a doctor therefore, making it hard to conceive a baby naturally. Throughout this paper, I will
explain three common causes of infertility in females like endometriosis, sexual transmitted diseases,
and poor nutrition. In the story The Handmaid s Tale, by Margaret Atwood, women are infertile
because of pollution, STD s, and radiation. If in fact, radiation caused the women of Gilead to be
infertile it could possible because the radiation caused a chemical or hormonal imbalance. With that
being said, the world we live in today, the leading causes of infertility in the U.S. is endometriosis.
Infertile women are 6 to 8 times more likely to have endometriosis than fertile women (Verkauf BS).

United States Global Role Post-Cold War
Recently, and especially since the 1990s, a popular conception of the world is that the age of empires
and superpowers is waning, rapidly being replaced by a kind of global community made up of
interdependent states and deeply connected through economics and technology. In this view, the
United States role following the Cold War is one of almost benign preeminence, in which it seeks to
spread liberal democracy through economic globalization, and, failing that, military intervention. Even
then, however, this military intervention is framed as part of a globalizing process, rather than any
kind of unilateral imperialist endeavor. However, examining the history of the United States since
nearly its inception all the way up to today reveals that nothing could be farther from the truth. The
United States is an empire in the truest sense of the word, expanding its control through military force
with seemingly no end other than its own enrichment. The United States misadventure in Iraq puts the
lie to the notion that US economic and military action is geared towards any kind of global
progression towards liberal democracy, and forces one to re imagine the United States role in
contemporary global affairs by recognizing the way in which it has attempted to secure its own
hegemony by crippling any potential threats. To begin, it is worth noting that in many ways the United
States represents the latest in a long line of empire stretching back to at least the Roman Empire.

Riding The Tide Of Technology Without Wiping Out
ELOANDOCS: Riding the Tide of Technology without Wiping Out Premium Title started ELoanDocs
in order to link different and numerous parties together, while informing them about mortgage closing
processes through technology. Before the company s new process was created in the early 90 s; the
industry s process was stagnant and paper intensive. Prior to eLoanDocs system the mortgage industy
consisted of a fax, mail, and an in person review. A mortgage loan and final closing procedure would
take around 90 days. It would also oblige a mortgage lender to generate final documents manually and
then send it over to a title company prior to the scheduled closing date. It was clear that as technology
was changing businesses also had to adapt. The company s Chief Technology Officer considered the
the cloud as a new system. He considered this system since it would be efficient and affordable in
comparison to the industries prior one. It was at this time where eLoansDocs had become the pioneer
in its industry. The company decided to differentiate themselves to other competitors in its market and
raise its market share. The company was growing at a fast rate. A few years had gone by and the
company began working with a few of the top mortgage lenders in the country. About half of the
documents for mortgages had circulated through eLoanDocs and with only 50 employees the company
contributed a great amount to its industry; while only generating less than 15 million dollars. The
company s

Texas Environmental Regulations
In my opinion we have to have environmental regulations to sustain the environment we have today.
Many people claim that these regulations restrict business which I think is true and so does Melanie J.
Martin in one of her articles she states Businesses may see certain environmental laws in a negative
light if they must adapt their practices and increase spending to comply with regulations. And if a
company is struggling to make it by as it is I don t think they will survive after paying out of pocket to
comply with new regulations. The laws we have in place today in Texas I think get the job done and
their not to extreme.
I have read that some people believe getting rid of some environmental regulations will boost the
economy but author Stephen M. Meyer doesn t believe so in his article he states ... anecdotes about ...

At the moment the o zone regulation limit is seventy five parts per billion and the EPA S Clean Air
Scientific Advisory Committee recommends to set the standard in between sixty and seventy parts per
billion. The National Association of Manufactures says that the new regulation woud increase energy
cost and reduce family incomes to about an equal amount of one hundred eighty two thousand lost
jobs for Texas. The new ozone regulations could put a kink in natural gas production and then result in
about a fifteen percent increase in electricity prices. Forty percent of the U.S. population already live
in areas that don t meet the current EPA regulation. Those people are at risk for aggravated asthma,
difficulty breathing, pre mature death, cardiovascular harm, and lower birth

  • 3. Overview of the Research Process for Business Students What is Research? People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships and not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a multiplicity of possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which has to be finished at some point to be of use. The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies. Tyson discussed the historical event that is crucial, yet was rarely spoke of until recent years. On November 10, 1989 Wilmington a majority black populated city as well as center of African American political and economic success a group of white supremacist burned down the building the local black newspaper resulting in the killing dozens of black residents, banishment of successful black leaders as well as their white supporters. The effects of this incident set path to the further expansion of white supremacy, and to an era of segregation, violence and repression. One of the main contribution to the success of the Democratic party ruled by white supremacist was the usage of the press, particularly newspapers, that carry propaganda to push the campaign in their favor. They exploited the power of the press to demonized black men as rapists who threatened the pure flower of Southern women (Tyson 7) and as tyrannical demons that threatens the white race. Racial superiority of whites was an ideology deeply ingrained, but the Democratic Party understood that it would be crucial to their campaign to fan [the ember of bigotry] to full flame (6). The major theme of the campaign became a mission to save white supremacy from Negro domination. Black men are portrayed as heinous and savage creatures that target the pure image of white women. ... On April 6, 1909, Peary conquered the world and achieved his lifetime goal of reaching the top of the world, the North Pole. He prepared for this goal all of his life, through school and work after college. He did much research and took many voyages to explore. He did not reach the Pole on his first try, but he persevered. After many long journeys and great challenges, he finally achieved his goal and made his mark on the world. The authors also found that the relation between the project size and the frequency of CO was significant. According to the project type, resurfacing and traffic maintenance projects were found to have less CO. The reason they provided for this was these types of projects were not subjected to uncertain conditions like earthwork and subsoil treatments. The authors found that the longer the project duration, the number of CO would be also more. For the contract with no CO showed that as the duration of the contract increases, the probability of having no CO decreases. Multiple works of literature show some type of Realism. Realism started its rise in the United States in 1865 and ended in the early 1900 s. One of China s best successes has in turn been one of its biggest downfalls. One of the main problems is China s greatest success which has been its phenomenal economic growth. This is one of the main drivers of the current environmental problems that the country faces. Factories dump pollutants into the air and water. An example of this is when a textiles mill in southern China was caught dumping 22,000 tons of contaminated water from its dyeing operation each day turning the whole river dark red. Another driver behind behaviour such as this is the ever growing discount clothing chain stores. Prices on fabric and clothing have fallen by 25% since 1995 and the particular article this was taken from was put together back in 2007. The discount clothing giants have become even more cut throat and competitive over the last few years. This behaviour is what has made China a huge export giant but has cost them so much more. Ann Petry s novel The Street (1946) is a commentary on the social injustices that confronted the protagonist Lutie Johnson. Lutie is a single African American mother who lives in segregated America during the 1940 s. Throughout the novel, we see that during this time period Lutie is confronted by racism, sexism, and classism on a daily basis while in her pursuit of the American Dream for herself and her son Bub. Lutie is convinced that if she follows the example of Benjamin Franklin, by working hard and saving wisely, she will be able to achieve the dream of being financially independent and therefore be able to move out from the Street in which she is confined to. Benjamin Franklin is embodied in the text through the character Junto. It is Junto that is supposed to get Lutie closer towards her dream. However, Junto, through his secret manipulations tries to possess Lutie sexually, ultimately leading Lutie towards her path of destruction and she ends up committing the murder of Junto s henchman, Boots. United States Global Role Post-Cold War Recently, and especially since the 1990s, a popular conception of the world is that the age of empires and superpowers is waning, rapidly being replaced by a kind of global community made up of interdependent states and deeply connected through economics and technology. In this view, the United States role following the Cold War is one of almost benign preeminence, in which it seeks to spread liberal democracy through economic globalization, and, failing that, military intervention. Even then, however, this military intervention is framed as part of a globalizing process, rather than any kind of unilateral imperialist endeavor. However, examining the history of the United States since nearly its inception all the way up to today reveals that nothing could be farther from the truth. The United States is an empire in the truest sense of the word, expanding its control through military force with seemingly no end other than its own enrichment. The United States misadventure in Iraq puts the lie to the notion that US economic and military action is geared towards any kind of global progression towards liberal democracy, and forces one to re imagine the United States role in contemporary global affairs by recognizing the way in which it has attempted to secure its own hegemony by crippling any potential threats.
